1 Surahs8 Versesركوع 488
62:1
يُسَبِّحُ
Glorifies
لِلَّهِ
Allah
مَا
whatever
فِى
(is) in
the heavens
وَمَا
and whatever
فِى
(is) in
the earth
the Sovereign
the Holy
the All-Mighty
the All-Wise
Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is exalting Allāh,1 the Sovereign, the Pure, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.2
62:2
هُوَ
He
(is) the One Who
بَعَثَ
sent
فِى
among
the unlettered
رَسُولاً
a Messenger
from themselves
يَتۡلُواۡ
reciting
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
to them
ءَايَـٰ تِهِۦ
His Verses
وَيُزَكِّيهِمۡ
and purifying them
وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ
and teaching them
the Book
وَٱ لۡحِكۡمَةَ
and the wisdom
وَإِن
although
they were
مِن
from
before
لَفِى
surely in
ضَلَـٰ لٍ
an error
clear
It is He who has sent among the unlettered [Arabs] a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] and wisdom [i.e., the sunnah] - although they were before in clear error -
62:3
وَءَاخَرِينَ
And others
مِنۡهُمۡ
among them
لَمّ َا
who have not yet
يَلۡحَقُواۡ
joined
بِهِمۡۚ
them
وَهُوَ
and He
(is) the All-Mighty
the All-Wise
And [to] others of them who have not yet joined them. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
62:4
ذٰ لِكَ
That
فَضۡلُ
(is the) Bounty
(of) Allah
يُؤۡتِيهِ
He gives it
مَن
(to) whom
He wills
وَٱ للَّهُ
And Allah
ذُو
(is the) Possessor
(of) Bounty
the Great
That is the bounty of Allāh, which He gives to whom He wills, and Allāh is the possessor of great bounty.
62:5
مَثَلُ
(The) likeness
(of) those who
حُمّ ِلُواۡ
were entrusted
(with) the Taurat
ثُمّ َ
then
لَمۡ
not
يَحۡمِلُوهَا
they bore it
كَمَثَلِ
(is) like
the donkey
يَحۡمِلُ
who carries
أَسۡفَارَۢاۚ
books
Wretched is
مَثَلُ
(the) example
(of) the people
who
كَذَّبُواۡ
deny
بِـَٔـايَـٰ تِ
(the) Signs
(of) Allah
وَٱ للَّهُ
And Allah
لَا
(does) not
يَهۡدِى
guide
the people
the wrongdoers
The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on1 is like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books].2 Wretched is the example of the people who deny the signs of Allāh. And Allāh does not guide the wrongdoing people.
62:6
قُلۡ
Say
يَـٰٓ أَيُّهَا
O
you (who)
هَادُوٓ اۡ
(are) Jews
إِن
If
you claim
أَنّ َكُمۡ
that you
أَوۡلِيَا ٓءُ
(are) allies
لِلَّهِ
of Allah
مِن
from
excluding
the people
فَتَمَنّ َوُاۡ
then wish
(for) the death
إِن
if
you are
صَـٰ دِقِي نَ
٦truthful
Say, "O you who are Jews, if you claim that you are allies of Allāh, excluding the [other] people, then wish for death, if you should be truthful."
62:7
وَلَا
But not
يَتَمَنّ َوۡنَهُۥٓ
they will wish for it
أَبَدَۢا
ever
for what
قَدَّمَتۡ
(have) sent forth
أَيۡدِيهِمۡۚ
their hands
وَٱ للَّهُ
And Allah
عَلِيمُۢ
(is) All-Knowing
of the wrongdoers
But they will not wish for it, ever, because of what their hands have put forth. And Allāh is Knowing of the wrongdoers.
62:8
قُلۡ
Say
إِنّ َ
Indeed
the death
which
تَفِرُّونَ
you flee
مِنۡهُ
from it
فَإِنّ َهُۥ
then surely it
مُلَـٰ قِيكُمۡۖ
(will) meet you
ثُمّ َ
Then
تُرَدُّونَ
you will be sent back
إِلَىٰ
to
عَـٰ لِمِ
(the) All-Knower
(of) the unseen
وَٱ ل شَّهَـٰ دَةِ
and the witnessed
فَيُنَبِّئُكُم
and He will inform you
[of] what
كُنت ُمۡ
you used to
تَعۡمَلُو نَ
٨do
Say, "Indeed, the death from which you flee - indeed, it will meet you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you about what you used to do."
