1 Surahs9 Versesركوع 421
42:1
حمٓ
١Ha Meem
Ḥā, Meem.
42:2
Ayn Seen Qaaf
ʿAyn, Seen, Qāf.1
42:3
كَذٰ لِكَ
Thus
يُوحِىٓ
reveals
إِلَيۡكَ
to you
وَإِلَى
and to
those
مِن
before you
before you
Allah
the All-Mighty
the All-Wise
Thus has He revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], and to those before you - Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
42:4
لَهُۥ
To Him
مَا
(belong) whatever
فِى
(is) in
the heavens
وَمَا
and whatever
فِى
(is) in
the earth
وَهُوَ
and He
(is) the Most High
the Most Great
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and He is the Most High, the Most Great.1
42:5
تَكَادُ
Almost
the heavens
يَتَفَطَّرۡنَ
break up
مِن
from
above them
وَٱ لۡمَلَـٰٓ ئِكَةُ
and the Angels
يُسَبِّحُونَ
glorify
بِحَمۡدِ
(the) praise
رَبِّهِمۡ
(of) their Lord
وَيَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ
and ask for forgiveness
لِمَن
for those
on
the earth
أَلَآ
Unquestionably
إِنّ َ
indeed
Allah
هُوَ
He
(is) the Oft-Forgiving
the Most Merciful
The heavens almost break from above them,1 and the angels exalt [Allāh] with praise of their Lord and ask forgiveness for those on earth. Unquestionably, it is Allāh who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.
42:6
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
And those who
take
مِن
besides
besides
أَوۡلِيَا ٓءَ
protectors
Allah
حَفِيظٌ
(is) a Guardian
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
over them
وَمَآ
and not
أَنت َ
you
عَلَيۡهِم
(are) over them
a manager
And those who take as allies other than Him - Allāh is [yet] Guardian over them; and you, [O Muḥammad], are not over them a manager.
42:7
وَكَذٰ لِكَ
And thus
أَوۡحَيۡنَآ
We have revealed
إِلَيۡكَ
to you
قُرۡءَانًا
a Quran
عَرَبِيًّا
(in) Arabic
that you may warn
أُمّ َ
(the) mother
(of) the towns
وَمَنۡ
and whoever
حَوۡلَهَا
(is) around it
وَتُنذ ِرَ
and warn
يَوۡمَ
(of the) Day
(of) Assembly
لَا
(there is) no
رَيۡبَ
doubt
فِيهِۚ
in it
فَرِيقٌ
A party
(will be) in
Paradise
وَفَرِيقٌ
and a party
in
the Blazing Fire
And thus We have revealed to you an Arabic Qur’ān that you may warn the Mother of Cities [i.e., Makkah] and those around it1 and warn of the Day of Assembly, about which there is no doubt. A party will be in Paradise and a party in the Blaze.
42:8
وَلَوۡ
And if
شَا ٓءَ
Allah willed
Allah willed
لَجَعَلَهُمۡ
He could have made them
أُمّ َةً
a community
one
but
He admits
مَن
whom
He wills
فِى
in (to)
رَحۡمَتِهِۦ ۚ
His Mercy
وَٱ ل ظَّـٰ لِمُونَ
And the wrongdoers
مَا
not
لَهُم
for them
any
protector
and not
نَصِي رٍ
٨any helper
And if Allāh willed, He could have made them [of] one religion, but He admits whom He wills1 into His mercy. And the wrongdoers have not any protector or helper.
42:9
أَمِ
Or
have they taken
مِن
besides Him
besides Him
أَوۡلِيَا ٓءَۖ
protectors
فَٱ للَّهُ
But Allah
هُوَ
He
(is) the Protector
وَهُوَ
and He
يُحۡىِ
gives life
(to) the dead
وَهُوَ
And He
عَلَىٰ
(is) on
كُلِّ
every
شَىۡءٍ
thing
All-Powerful
Or have they taken protectors [or allies] besides Him? But Allāh - He is the Protector, and He gives life to the dead, and He is over all things competent.
