1 Surahs12 Versesركوع 364
33:9
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
ٱذۡكُرُواۡ
Remember
نِعۡمَةَ
(the) Favor
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
upon you
إِذۡ
when
جَآءَتۡكُمۡ
came to you
جُنُودٌ
(the) hosts
فَأَرۡسَلۡنَا
and We sent
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
upon them
رِيحًا
a wind
وَجُنُودًا
and hosts
لَّمۡ
not
تَرَوۡهَا‌ۚ
you (could) see them
وَكَانَ
And Allah is
ٱللَّهُ
And Allah is
بِمَا
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
you do
بَصِيرًا
All-Seer
٩
O you who have believed, remember the favor of Allāh upon you when armies came to [attack] you and We sent upon them a wind and armies [of angels] you did not see. And ever is Allāh, of what you do, Seeing.
33:10
إِذۡ
When
جَآءُوكُم
they came upon you
مِّن
from
فَوۡقِكُمۡ
above you
وَمِنۡ
and from
أَسۡفَلَ
below
مِنكُمۡ
you
وَإِذۡ
and when
زَاغَتِ
grew wild
ٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرُ
the eyes
وَبَلَغَتِ
and reached
ٱلۡقُلُوبُ
the hearts
ٱلۡحَنَاجِرَ
the throats
وَتَظُنُّونَ
and you assumed
بِٱللَّهِ
about Allah
ٱلظُّنُونَاۡ
the assumptions
١٠
[Remember] when they came at you from above you and from below you, and when eyes shifted [in fear], and hearts reached the throats, and you assumed about Allāh [various] assumptions.
33:11
هُنَالِكَ
There
ٱبۡتُلِىَ
were tried
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ
the believers
وَزُلۡزِلُواۡ
and shaken
زِلۡزَالاً
(with a) shake
شَدِيدًا
severe
١١
There the believers were tested and shaken with a severe shaking.
33:12
وَإِذۡ
And when
يَقُولُ
said
ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقُونَ
the hypocrites
وَٱلَّذِينَ
and those
فِى
in
قُلُوبِهِم
their hearts
مَّرَضٌ
(was) a disease
مَّا
Not
وَعَدَنَا
Allah promised us
ٱللَّهُ
Allah promised us
وَرَسُولُهُۥٓ
and His messenger
إِلَّا
except
غُرُورًا
delusion
١٢
And [remember] when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is disease said, "Allāh and His Messenger did not promise us except delusion,"
33:13
وَإِذۡ
And when
قَالَت
said
طَّآئِفَةٌ
a party
مِّنۡهُمۡ
of them
يَـٰٓأَهۡلَ
O People
يَثۡرِبَ
(of) Yathrib
لَا
No
مُقَامَ
stand
لَكُمۡ
for you
فَٱرۡجِعُواۡ‌ۚ
so return
وَيَسۡتَــٔۡذِنُ
And asked permission
فَرِيقٌ
a group
مِّنۡهُمُ
of them
ٱلنَّبِىَّ
(from) the Prophet
يَقُولُونَ
saying
إِنَّ
Indeed
بُيُوتَنَا
our houses
عَوۡرَةٌ
(are) exposed
وَمَا
and not
هِىَ
they
بِعَوۡرَةٍ‌ۖ
(were) exposed
إِن
Not
يُرِيدُونَ
they wished
إِلَّا
but
فِرَارًا
to flee
١٣
And when a faction of them said, "O people of Yathrib,1 there is no stability for you [here], so return [home]." And a party of them asked permission of the Prophet, saying, "Indeed, our houses are exposed [i.e., unprotected]," while they were not exposed. They did not intend except to flee.
33:14
وَلَوۡ
And if
دُخِلَتۡ
had been entered
عَلَيۡهِم
upon them
مِّنۡ
from
أَقۡطَارِهَا
all its sides
ثُمَّ
then
سُئِلُواۡ
they had been asked
ٱلۡفِتۡنَةَ
the treachery
لَأَتَوۡهَا
they (would) have certainly done it
وَمَا
and not
تَلَبَّثُواۡ
they (would) have hesitated
بِهَآ
over it
إِلَّا
except
يَسِيرًا
a little
١٤
And if they had been entered upon from all its [surrounding] regions and fitnah [i.e., disbelief] had been demanded of them, they would have done it and not hesitated over it except briefly.
33:15
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
كَانُواۡ
they had
عَـٰهَدُواۡ
promised
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
مِن
before
قَبۡلُ
before
لَا
not
يُوَلُّونَ
they would turn
ٱلۡأَدۡبَـٰرَ‌ۚ
their backs
وَكَانَ
And is
عَهۡدُ
(the) promise
ٱللَّهِ
(to) Allah
مَسۡــُٔولاً
to be questioned
١٥
And they had already promised Allāh before not to turn their backs [i.e., flee]. And ever is the promise to Allāh [that about which one will be] questioned.
33:16
قُل
Say
لَّن
Never
يَنفَعَكُمُ
will benefit you
ٱلۡفِرَارُ
the fleeing
إِن
if
فَرَرۡتُم
you flee
مِّنَ
from
ٱلۡمَوۡتِ
death
أَوِ
or
ٱلۡقَتۡلِ
killing
وَإِذًا
and then
لَّا
not
تُمَتَّعُونَ
you will be allowed to enjoy
إِلَّا
except
قَلِيلاً
a little
١٦
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Never will fleeing benefit you if you should flee from death or killing; and then [if you did], you would not be given enjoyment [of life] except for a little."
33:17
قُلۡ
Say
مَن
Who
ذَا
(is) it that
ٱلَّذِى
(is) it that
يَعۡصِمُكُم
(can) protect you
مِّنَ
from
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
إِنۡ
If
أَرَادَ
He intends
بِكُمۡ
for you
سُوٓءًا
any harm
أَوۡ
or
أَرَادَ
He intends
بِكُمۡ
for you
رَحۡمَةً‌ۚ
a mercy
وَلَا
And not
يَجِدُونَ
they will find
لَهُم
for them
مِّن
besides
دُونِ
besides
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
وَلِيًّا
any protector
وَلَا
and not
نَصِيرًا
any helper
١٧
Say, "Who is it that can protect you from Allāh1 if He intends for you an ill or intends for you a mercy?" And they will not find for themselves besides Allāh any protector or any helper.
33:18
۞قَدۡ
Verily
يَعۡلَمُ
Allah knows
ٱللَّهُ
Allah knows
ٱلۡمُعَوِّقِينَ
those who hinder
مِنكُمۡ
among you
وَٱلۡقَآئِلِينَ
and those who say
لِإِخۡوٰنِهِمۡ
to their brothers
هَلُمَّ
Come
إِلَيۡنَا‌ۖ
to us
وَلَا
and not
يَأۡتُونَ
they come
ٱلۡبَأۡسَ
(to) the battle
إِلَّا
except
قَلِيلاً
a few
١٨
Already Allāh knows the hinderers1 among you and those [hypocrites] who say to their brothers, "Come to us,"2 and do not go to battle, except for a few,3
33:19
أَشِحَّةً
Miserly
عَلَيۡكُمۡ‌ۖ
towards you
فَإِذَا
But when
جَآءَ
comes
ٱلۡخَوۡفُ
the fear
رَأَيۡتَهُمۡ
you see them
يَنظُرُونَ
looking
إِلَيۡكَ
at you
تَدُورُ
revolving
أَعۡيُنُهُمۡ
their eyes
كَٱلَّذِى
like one who
يُغۡشَىٰ
faints
عَلَيۡهِ
faints
مِنَ
from
ٱلۡمَوۡتِ‌ۖ
[the] death
فَإِذَا
But when
ذَهَبَ
departs
ٱلۡخَوۡفُ
the fear
سَلَقُوكُم
they smite you
بِأَلۡسِنَةٍ
with tongues
حِدَادٍ
sharp
أَشِحَّةً
miserly
عَلَى
towards
ٱلۡخَيۡرِ‌ۚ
the good
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
Those
لَمۡ
not
يُؤۡمِنُواۡ
they have believed
فَأَحۡبَطَ
so Allah made worthless
ٱللَّهُ
so Allah made worthless
أَعۡمَـٰلَهُمۡ‌ۚ
their deeds
وَكَانَ
And is
ذٰلِكَ
that
عَلَى
for
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
يَسِيرًا
easy
١٩
Indisposed1 toward you. And when fear comes, you see them looking at you, their eyes revolving like one being overcome by death. But when fear departs, they lash you with sharp tongues, indisposed toward [any] good. Those have not believed, so Allāh has rendered their deeds worthless, and ever is that, for Allāh, easy.
33:20
يَحۡسَبُونَ
They think
ٱلۡأَحۡزَابَ
the confederates
لَمۡ
(have) not
يَذۡهَبُواۡ‌ۖ
withdrawn
وَإِن
And if
يَأۡتِ
(should) come
ٱلۡأَحۡزَابُ
the confederates
يَوَدُّواۡ
they would wish
لَوۡ
if
أَنَّهُم
that they (were)
بَادُونَ
living in (the) desert
فِى
among
ٱلۡأَعۡرَابِ
the Bedouins
يَسۡــَٔلُونَ
asking
عَنۡ
about
أَنۢبَآئِكُمۡ‌ۖ
your news
وَلَوۡ
And if
كَانُواۡ
they were
فِيكُم
among you
مَّا
not
قَـٰتَلُوٓاۡ
they would fight
إِلَّا
except
قَلِيلاً
a little
٢٠
They think the companies have not [yet] withdrawn.1 And if the companies should come [again], they would wish they were in the desert among the bedouins, inquiring [from afar] about your news. And if they should be among you, they would not fight except for a little.
