1 Surahs8 Versesركوع 25
2:189
۞يَسۡــَٔلُونَكَ
They ask you
عَنِ
about
the new moons
قُلۡ
Say
هِىَ
They
مَوٰ قِيتُ
(are) indicators of periods
لِلنّ َاسِ
for the people
وَٱ لۡحَجِّۗ
and (for) the Hajj
وَلَيۡسَ
And it is not
[the] righteousness
بِأَن
that
you come
(to) the houses
مِن
from
their backs
وَلَـٰ كِنّ َ
[and] but
[the] righteous
مَنِ
(is one) who
fears (Allah)
وَأۡتُواۡ
And come
(to) the houses
مِنۡ
from
أَبۡ وٰ بِهَاۚ
their doors
وَٱ تَّقُواۡ
And fear
Allah
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
so that you may
تُفۡلِحُو نَ
١٨٩(be) successful
They ask you, [O Muḥammad], about the crescent moons. Say, "They are measurements of time for the people and for ḥajj [pilgrimage]." And it is not righteousness to enter houses from the back, but righteousness is [in] one who fears Allāh. And enter houses from their doors. And fear Allāh that you may succeed.
2:190
وَقَـٰ تِلُواۡ
And fight
فِى
in
سَبِيلِ
(the) way
(of) Allah
those who
يُقَـٰ تِلُونَكُمۡ
fight you
وَلَا
and (do) not
تَعۡتَدُوٓاۡ ۚ
transgress
إِنّ َ
Indeed
Allah
لَا
(does) not
يُحِبُّ
like
the transgressors
Fight in the way of Allāh those who fight against you but do not transgress. Indeed, Allāh does not like transgressors.
2:191
وَٱ قۡ تُلُوهُمۡ
And kill them
حَيۡثُ
wherever
ثَقِفۡتُمُوهُمۡ
you find them
وَأَخۡرِجُوهُم
and drive them out
from
حَيۡثُ
wherever
أَخۡرَجُوكُمۡۚ
they drove you out
وَٱ لۡفِتۡنَةُ
and [the] oppression
أَشَدُّ
(is) worse
مِنَ
than
[the] killing
وَلَا
And (do) not
تُقَـٰ تِلُوهُمۡ
fight them
عِند َ
near
Al-Masjid
Al-Haraam
حَتَّىٰ
until
يُقَـٰ تِلُوكُمۡ
they fight you
فِيهِۖ
in it
فَإِن
Then if
they fight you
فَٱ قۡ تُلُوهُمۡۗ
then kill them
كَذٰ لِكَ
Such
جَزَا ٓءُ
(is the) reward
(of) the disbelievers
And kill them [in battle] wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah1 is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al-Ḥarām until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.
2:192
فَإِنِ
Then if
they cease
فَإِنّ َ
then indeed
Allah
غَفُورٌ
(is) Oft-Forgiving
Most Merciful
And if they cease, then indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.
2:193
وَقَـٰ تِلُوهُمۡ
And fight (against) them
حَتَّىٰ
until
لَا
not
تَكُونَ
(there) is
فِتۡنَةٌ
oppression
and becomes
the religion
لِلَّهِۖ
for Allah
فَإِنِ
Then if
they cease
فَلَا
then (let there be) no
عُدۡ وٰ نَ
hostility
إِلَّا
except
عَلَى
against
the oppressors
Fight them until there is no [more] fitnah and [until] religion [i.e., worship] is [acknowledged to be] for Allāh. But if they cease, then there is to be no aggression [i.e., assault] except against the oppressors.
2:194
ٱل شَّهۡرُ
The month
[the] sacred
بِٱ ل شَّهۡرِ
(is) for the month
[the] sacred
وَٱ لۡحُرُمَـٰ تُ
and for all the violations
قِصَاصٌۚ
(is) legal retribution
Then whoever
transgressed
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
upon you
فَٱ عۡتَدُواۡ
then you transgress
عَلَيۡهِ
on him
بِمِثۡلِ
in (the) same manner
مَا
(as)
he transgressed
عَلَيۡكُمۡۚ
upon you
وَٱ تَّقُواۡ
And fear
Allah
وَٱ عۡلَمُوٓ اۡ
and know
أَنّ َ
that
Allah
مَعَ
(is) with
those who fear (Him)
[Battle in] the sacred month is for [aggression committed in] the sacred month,1 and for [all] violations is legal retribution. So whoever has assaulted you, then assault him in the same way that he has assaulted you. And fear Allāh and know that Allāh is with those who fear Him.
2:195
وَأَنف ِقُواۡ
And spend
فِى
in
سَبِيلِ
(the) way
(of) Allah
وَلَا
and (do) not
تُلۡقُواۡ
throw (yourselves)
بِأَيۡدِيكُمۡ
[with your hands]
إِلَى
into
[the] destruction
وَأَحۡسِنُوٓاۡ ۛ
And do good
إِنّ َ
indeed
Allah
يُحِبُّ
loves
the good-doers
And spend in the way of Allāh and do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction [by refraining]. And do good; indeed, Allāh loves the doers of good.
2:196
وَأَتِمّ ُواۡ
And complete
the Hajj
وَٱ لۡعُمۡرَةَ
and the Umrah
لِلَّهِۚ
for Allah
فَإِنۡ

you are held back

your heads
حَتَّىٰ
until

(to) its destination
فَمَن
Then whoever

مِنك ُم
among you

he (has)

an ailment
of
his head
فَفِدۡ يَةٌ
then a ransom
of
fasting
أَوۡ
or
صَدَقَةٍ
charity
أَوۡ

Then when
أَمِنت ُمۡ
you are secure
فَمَن
then whoever
took advantage
بِٱ لۡعُمۡرَةِ
of the Umrah

(by) the Hajj
فَمَا

But whoever

and seven (days)
إِذَا
when
رَجَعۡتُمۡۗ
you return
تِلۡكَ
This
عَشَرَةٌ
(is) ten (days)
in all
That
لِمَن
(is) for (the one) whose
not
يَكُنۡ
is
أَهۡلُهُۥ
his family
حَاضِرِى
present
(near) Al-Masjid
Al-Haraam
وَٱ تَّقُواۡ
And fear
Allah
وَٱ عۡلَمُوٓ اۡ
and know
أَنّ َ
that
Allah
شَدِيدُ
(is) severe
(in) retribution
And complete the ḥajj and ʿumrah for Allāh. But if you are prevented, then [offer] what can be obtained with ease of sacrificial animals. And do not shave your heads until the sacrificial animal has reached its place of slaughter. And whoever among you is ill or has an ailment of the head [making shaving necessary must offer] a ransom of fasting [three days] or charity1 or sacrifice.2 And when you are secure,3 then whoever performs ʿumrah [during the ḥajj months]4 followed by ḥajj [offers] what can be obtained with ease of sacrificial animals. And whoever cannot find [or afford such an animal] - then a fast of three days during ḥajj and of seven when you have returned [home]. Those are ten complete [days]. This is for those whose family is not in the area of al-Masjid al-Ḥarām. And fear Allāh and know that Allāh is severe in penalty.
