1 Surahs8 Versesركوع 188
11:61
۞وَإِلَىٰ
And to
ثَمُودَ
Thamud
أَخَاهُمۡ
(We sent) their brother
صَـٰ لِحًاۚ
Salih
He said
يَـٰ قَوۡمِ
O my people
Worship
Allah
مَا
not
لَكُم
you have
any
إِلَـٰ هٍ
god
غَيۡرُهُۥ ۖ
other than Him
هُوَ
He
أَنش َأَكُم
produced you
from
the earth
وَٱ سۡتَعۡمَرَكُمۡ
and settled you
فِيهَا
in it
فَٱ سۡتَغۡفِرُوهُ
So ask forgiveness of Him
ثُمّ َ
then
تُوبُوٓ اۡ
turn in repentance
إِلَيۡهِۚ
to Him
إِنّ َ
Indeed
رَبِّى
my Lord
قَرِيبٌ
(is) near
All-Responsive
And to Thamūd [We sent] their brother Ṣāliḥ. He said, "O my people, worship Allāh; you have no deity other than Him. He has produced you from the earth and settled you in it, so ask forgiveness of Him and then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is near and responsive."
11:62
قَالُواۡ
They said
يَـٰ صَـٰ لِحُ
O Salih
قَدۡ
Verily
كُنت َ
you were
فِينَا
among us
مَرۡجُوًّا
the one in whom hope was placed
before
هَـٰ ذَآۖ
this
أَتَنۡهَـٰ نَآ
Do you forbid us
أَن
that
we worship
مَا
what
يَعۡبُدُ
our forefathers worshipped
ءَابَا ٓؤُنَا
our forefathers worshipped
وَإِنّ َنَا
And indeed we
لَفِى
surely (are) in
شَكٍّ
doubt
about what
تَدۡ عُونَآ
you call us
إِلَيۡهِ
to it
مُرِي ب ٍ
٦٢suspicious
They said, "O Ṣāliḥ, you were among us a man of promise before this. Do you forbid us to worship what our fathers worshipped? And indeed we are, about that to which you invite us, in disquieting doubt."
11:63
قَالَ
He said
يَـٰ قَوۡمِ
O my people
أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ
Do you see
إِن
if
I am
عَلَىٰ
on
بَيِّنَةٍ
a clear proof
from
my Lord
وَءَاتَـٰ نِى
and He has given me
مِنۡهُ
from Him
رَحۡمَةً
a Mercy
then who
(can) help me
مِنَ
against
Allah
إِنۡ
if
عَصَيۡتُهُۥ ۖ
I (were to) disobey Him
فَمَا
So not
تَزِيدُونَنِى
you would increase me
غَيۡرَ
but
تَخۡسِي رٍ
٦٣(in) loss
He said, "O my people, have you considered: if I should be upon clear evidence from my Lord and He has given me mercy from Himself, who would protect me from Allāh if I disobeyed Him? So you would not increase me except in loss.
11:64
وَيَـٰ قَوۡمِ
And O my people
هَـٰ ذِهِۦ
This
نَاقَةُ
she-camel
(of) Allah
لَكُمۡ
(is) for you
ءَايَةً
a Sign
so leave her
تَأۡكُلۡ
to eat
فِىٓ
in
أَرۡضِ
the earth
(of) Allah
وَلَا
and (do) not
تَمَسُّوهَا
touch her
بِسُو ٓءٍ
with harm
lest will seize you
عَذَابٌ
a punishment
impending
And O my people, this is the she-camel of Allāh - [she is] to you a sign. So let her feed upon Allāh's earth and do not touch her with harm, or you will be taken by an impending punishment."
11:65
فَعَقَرُوهَا
But they hamstrung her
فَقَالَ
So he said
تَمَتَّعُواۡ
Enjoy (yourselves)
فِى
in
دَارِكُمۡ
your home(s)
ثَلَـٰ ثَةَ
(for) three
أَيَّامٍۖ
days
That
وَعۡدٌ
(is) a promise
غَيۡرُ
not
مَكۡذُو ب ٍ
٦٥(to) be belied
But they hamstrung her, so he said, "Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days. That is a promise not to be denied [i.e., unfailing]."
11:66
فَلَمّ َا
So when
جَا ٓءَ
came
أَمۡرُنَا
Our command
نَجَّيۡنَا
We saved
صَـٰ لِحًا
Salih
and those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believed
مَعَهُۥ
with him
بِرَحۡمَةٍ
by a Mercy
from Us
وَمِنۡ
and from
خِزۡىِ
(the) disgrace
يَوۡمِئِذٍۗ
(of) that Day
إِنّ َ
Indeed
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
هُوَ
He
(is) All-Strong
All-Mighty
So when Our command came, We saved Ṣāliḥ and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us, and [saved them] from the disgrace of that day.1 Indeed, it is your Lord who is the Powerful, the Exalted in Might.
11:67
وَأَخَذَ
And seized
those who
ظَلَمُواۡ
wronged
the thunderous blast
فَأَصۡبَحُواۡ
then they became
فِى
in
دِيَـٰ رِهِمۡ
their homes
جَـٰ ثِمِي نَ
٦٧fallen prone
And the shriek1 seized those who had wronged, and they became within their homes [corpses] fallen prone
11:68
كَأَن
As if
not
يَغۡنَوۡاۡ
they (had) prospered
فِيهَآۗ
therein
أَلَآ
No doubt
إِنّ َ
indeed
ثَمُودَاۡ
Thamud
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieved
رَبَّهُمۡۗ
(in) their Lord
أَلَا
so
بُعۡدًا
away
with Thamud
As if they had never prospered therein. Unquestionably, Thamūd denied their Lord; then, away with Thamūd.
