Back to Ruku Indexٱ ل صَّدَقَـٰ تُٱ ل رِّقَابِٱ للَّهِٱ ل سَّبِيلِۖم ِّنَٱ للَّهِۗٱ لَّذِينَٱ ل نّ َبِىَّق ُلۡل َّكُمۡل ِّلَّذِينَٱ للَّهِي ُرۡضُوهُك َانُواۡ ي ُحَادِدِٱ للَّهَف ِيهَاۚٱ لۡخِزۡىُٱ لۡعَظِي مُ٦٣ٱ لۡمُنَـٰ فِقُونَت ُنَزَّلَت ُنَبِّئُهُم ب ِمَاٱ سۡتَهۡزِءُوٓ اۡ ٱ للَّهَم َّاس َأَلۡتَهُمۡب َعۡدَن َّعۡفُط َا ٓئِفَةٍ م ِّنك ُمۡب ِأَنّ َهُمۡ

9:60
۞إِنّ َمَا
Only
the charities
لِلۡفُقَرَا ٓءِ
(are) for the poor
وَٱ لۡمَسَـٰ كِينِ
and the needy
وَٱ لۡعَـٰ مِلِينَ
and those who collect
عَلَيۡهَا
them
وَٱ لۡمُؤَلَّفَةِ
and the ones inclined
قُلُوبُهُمۡ
their hearts
وَفِى
and in
the (freeing of) the necks
وَٱ لۡغَـٰ رِمِينَ
and for those in debt
وَفِى
and in
سَبِيلِ
(the) way
(of) Allah
وَٱ بۡ نِ
and the wayfarer
and the wayfarer
فَرِيضَةً
an obligation
from
Allah
وَٱ للَّهُ
And Allah
عَلِيمٌ
(is) All-Knowing
حَكِي مٌ
٦٠All-Wise
Zakāh expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed for it1 and for bringing hearts together [for Islām] and for freeing captives [or slaves] and for those in debt and for the cause of Allāh and for the [stranded] traveler - an obligation [imposed] by Allāh. And Allāh is Knowing and Wise.
9:61
وَمِنۡهُمُ
And among them
(are) those who
يُؤۡذُونَ
hurt
the Prophet
وَيَقُولُونَ
and they say
هُوَ
He is
أُذُنٌۚ
(all) ear
Say
أُذُنُ
An ear
خَيۡرٍ
(of) goodness
for you
يُؤۡمِنُ
he believes
بِٱ للَّهِ
in Allah
وَيُؤۡمِنُ
and believes
لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
the believers
وَرَحۡمَةٌ
and (is) a mercy
to those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
مِنك ُمۡۚ
among you
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
And those who
يُؤۡذُونَ
hurt
رَسُولَ
(the) Messenger
(of) Allah
لَهُمۡ
for them
عَذَابٌ
(is) a punishment
أَلِي مٌ
٦١painful
And among them are those who abuse the Prophet and say, "He is an ear."1 Say, "[It is] an ear of goodness for you that believes in Allāh and believes the believers and [is] a mercy to those who believe among you." And those who abuse the Messenger of Allāh - for them is a painful punishment.
9:62
يَحۡلِفُونَ
They swear
بِٱ للَّهِ
by Allah
لَكُمۡ
to you
لِيُرۡضُوكُمۡ
to please you
وَٱ للَّهُ
And Allah
وَرَسُولُهُۥٓ
and His Messenger
أَحَقُّ
(have) more right
أَن
that
they should please Him
إِن
if
they are
مُؤۡمِنِي نَ
٦٢believers
They swear by Allāh to you [Muslims] to satisfy you. But Allāh and His Messenger are more worthy for them to satisfy,1 if they were to be believers.
9:63
أَلَمۡ
Do not
يَعۡلَمُوٓ اۡ
they know
أَنّ َهُۥ
that he
مَن
who
opposes
Allah
وَرَسُولَهُۥ
and His Messenger
فَأَنّ َ
[then] that
لَهُۥ
for him
نَارَ
(is the) Fire
جَهَنّ َمَ
(of) Hell
خَـٰ لِدًا
(will) abide forever
in it
ذٰ لِكَ
That
(is) the disgrace
the great
Do they not know that whoever opposes Allāh and His Messenger - that for him is the fire of Hell, wherein he will abide eternally? That is the great disgrace.
9:64
يَحۡذَرُ
Fear
the hypocrites
أَن
lest
be revealed
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
about them
سُورَةٌ
a Surah
informing them
of what
فِى
(is) in
قُلُوبِهِمۡۚ
their hearts
قُلِ
Say
Mock
إِنّ َ
indeed
Allah
مُخۡرِجٌ
(will) bring forth
what
تَحۡذَرُو نَ
٦٤you fear
The hypocrites are apprehensive lest a sūrah be revealed about them, informing them of1 what is in their hearts. Say, "Mock [as you wish]; indeed, Allāh will expose that which you fear."
9:65
وَلَئِن
And if
you ask them
لَيَقُولُنّ َ
surely they will say
إِنّ َمَا
Only
كُنّ َا
we were
نَخُوضُ
conversing
وَنَلۡعَبُۚ
and playing
قُلۡ
Say
أَبِٱ للَّهِ
Is it Allah
وَءَايَـٰ تِهِۦ
and His Verses
وَرَسُولِهِۦ
and His Messenger
كُنت ُمۡ
(that) you were
تَسۡتَهۡزِءُو نَ
٦٥mocking
And if you ask them, they will surely say, "We were only conversing and playing." Say, "Is it Allāh and His verses and His Messenger that you were mocking?"
9:66
لَا
(Do) not
تَعۡتَذِرُواۡ
make excuse
قَدۡ
verily
كَفَرۡتُم
you have disbelieved
after
إِيمَـٰ نِكُمۡۚ
your belief
إِن
If
We pardon
عَن
[on]
a party
of you
نُعَذِّبۡ
We will punish
طَا ٓئِفَةَۢ
a party
because they
كَانُواۡ
were
مُجۡ رِمِي نَ
٦٦criminals
Make no excuse; you have disbelieved [i.e., rejected faith] after your belief. If We pardon one faction of you - We will punish another faction because they were criminals.
