ءَايَـٰتُهُۥ
its Verses
قُرۡءَانًا

يَعۡلَمُونَ
(who) know
٣
A Book whose verses have been detailed, an Arabic Qur’ān1 for a people who know,
41:4
بَشِيرًا
A giver of glad tidings
وَنَذِيرًا
and a warner
فَأَعۡرَضَ
but turn away
أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ
most of them
فَهُمۡ
so they
لَا
(do) not
يَسۡمَعُونَ
hear
٤
As a giver of good tidings and a warner; but most of them turn away, so they do not hear.
41:5
وَقَالُواۡ
And they say
قُلُوبُنَا
Our hearts
فِىٓ
(are) in
أَكِنَّةٍ
coverings
مِّمَّا
from what
تَدۡعُونَآ
you call us
إِلَيۡهِ
to it
وَفِىٓ
and in
ءَاذَانِنَا
our ears
وَقۡرٌ
(is) deafness
وَمِنۢ
and between us
بَيۡنِنَا
and between us
وَبَيۡنِكَ
and between you
حِجَابٌ
(is) a screen
فَٱعۡمَلۡ
So work
إِنَّنَا
indeed, we
عَـٰمِلُونَ
(are) working
٥
And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings [i.e., screened] from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work;1 indeed, we are working."
41:6
قُلۡ
Say
إِنَّمَآ
Only
أَنَاۡ
I am
بَشَرٌ
a man
مِّثۡلُكُمۡ
like you
يُوحَىٰٓ
it is revealed
إِلَىَّ
to me
أَنَّمَآ
that
إِلَـٰهُكُمۡ
your god
إِلَـٰهٌ
(is) God
وٰحِدٌ
One
فَٱسۡتَقِيمُوٓاۡ
so take a Straight Path
إِلَيۡهِ
to Him
وَٱسۡتَغۡفِرُوهُ‌ۗ
and ask His forgiveness
وَوَيۡلٌ
And woe
لِّلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
to the polytheists
٦
Say, [O Muḥammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allāh
41:7
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
لَا
(do) not
يُؤۡتُونَ
give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
the zakah
وَهُم
and they
بِٱلۡأَخِرَةِ
in the Hereafter
هُمۡ
they
كَـٰفِرُونَ
(are) disbelievers
٧
Those who do not give zakāh, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers.
41:8
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
وَعَمِلُواۡ
and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
righteous deeds
لَهُمۡ
for them
أَجۡرٌ
(is) a reward
غَيۡرُ
never ending
مَمۡنُونٍ
never ending
٨
Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted.
41:9
۞قُلۡ
Say
أَئِنَّكُمۡ
Do you indeed
لَتَكۡفُرُونَ
[surely] disbelieve
بِٱلَّذِى
in the One Who
خَلَقَ
created
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
the earth
فِى
in
يَوۡمَيۡنِ
two periods
وَتَجۡعَلُونَ
and you set up
لَهُۥٓ
with Him
أَندَادًا‌ۚ
rivals
ذٰلِكَ
That
رَبُّ
(is the) Lord
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
(of) the worlds
٩
Say, "Do you indeed disbelieve in He who created the earth in two days and attribute to Him equals? That is the Lord of the worlds."
41:10
وَجَعَلَ
And He placed
فِيهَا
therein
رَوٰسِىَ
firmly-set mountains
مِن
above it
فَوۡقِهَا
above it
وَبَـٰرَكَ
and He blessed
فِيهَا
therein
وَقَدَّرَ
and determined
فِيهَآ
therein
أَقۡوٰتَهَا
its sustenance
فِىٓ
in
أَرۡبَعَةِ
four
أَيَّامٍ
periods
سَوَآءً
equal
لِّلسَّآئِلِينَ
for those who ask
١٠
And He placed on it [i.e., the earth] firmly set mountains over its surface, and He blessed it and determined therein its [creatures'] sustenance in four days without distinction1 - for [the information of] those who ask.
41:11
ثُمَّ
Then
ٱسۡتَوَىٰٓ
He directed (Himself)
إِلَى
towards
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the heaven
وَهِىَ
while it (was)
دُخَانٌ
smoke
فَقَالَ
and He said
لَهَا
to it
وَلِلۡأَرۡضِ
and to the earth
ٱئۡتِيَا
Come both of you
طَوۡعًا
willingly
أَوۡ
or
كَرۡهًا
unwillingly
قَالَتَآ
They both said
أَتَيۡنَا
We come
طَآئِعِينَ
willingly
١١
Then He directed Himself1 to the heaven while it was smoke and said to it and to the earth, "Come [into being],2 willingly or by compulsion." They said, "We have come willingly."
41:12
فَقَضَـٰهُنَّ
Then He completed them
سَبۡعَ
(as) seven
سَمَـٰوَاتٍ
heavens
فِى
in
يَوۡمَيۡنِ
two periods
وَأَوۡحَىٰ
and He revealed
فِى
in
كُلِّ
each
سَمَآءٍ
heaven
أَمۡرَهَا‌ۚ
its affair
وَزَيَّنَّا
And We adorned
ٱلسَّمَآءَ
the heaven
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
[the world]
بِمَصَـٰبِيحَ
with lamps
وَحِفۡظًا‌ۚ
and (to) guard
ذٰلِكَ
That
تَقۡدِيرُ
(is the) Decree
ٱلۡعَزِيزِ
(of) the All-Mighty
ٱلۡعَلِيمِ
the All-Knower
١٢
And He completed them as seven heavens within two days and inspired [i.e., made known] in each heaven its command. And We adorned the nearest heaven with lamps [i.e., stars, for beauty] and as protection.1 That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.
41:13
فَإِنۡ
But if
أَعۡرَضُواۡ
they turn away
فَقُلۡ
then say
أَنذَرۡتُكُمۡ
I have warned you
صَـٰعِقَةً
(of) a thunderbolt
مِّثۡلَ
like
صَـٰعِقَةِ
(the) thunderbolt
عَادٍ
(of) Aad
وَثَمُودَ
and Thamud
١٣
But if they turn away, then say, "I have warned you of a thunderbolt like the thunderbolt [that struck] ʿAad and Thamūd.
41:14
إِذۡ
When
جَآءَتۡهُمُ
came to them
ٱلرُّسُلُ
the Messengers
مِنۢ
from before them
بَيۡنِ
from before them
أَيۡدِيهِمۡ
from before them
وَمِنۡ
and from
خَلۡفِهِمۡ
behind them
أَلَّا
(saying) "Do not
تَعۡبُدُوٓاۡ
worship
إِلَّا
except
ٱللَّهَ‌ۖ
Allah
قَالُواۡ
They said
لَوۡ
If
شَآءَ
(had) willed
رَبُّنَا
our Lord
لَأَنزَلَ
surely, He (would have) sent down
مَلَـٰٓئِكَةً
Angels
فَإِنَّا
So indeed, we
بِمَآ
in what
أُرۡسِلۡتُم
you have been sent
بِهِۦ
with
كَـٰفِرُونَ
(are) disbelievers
١٤
[That occurred] when the messengers had come to them before them and after them, [saying], "Worship not except Allāh." They said, "If our Lord had willed,1 He would have sent down the angels, so indeed we, in that with which you have been sent, are disbelievers."
41:15
فَأَمَّا
Then as for
عَادٌ
Aad
فَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواۡ
they were arrogant
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the land
بِغَيۡرِ
without
ٱلۡحَقِّ
[the] right
وَقَالُواۡ
and they said
مَنۡ
Who
أَشَدُّ
(is) mightier
مِنَّا
than us
قُوَّةً‌ۖ
(in) strength
أَوَلَمۡ
Do not
يَرَوۡاۡ
they see
أَنَّ
that
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
ٱلَّذِى
the One Who
خَلَقَهُمۡ
created them
هُوَ
He
أَشَدُّ
(is) Mightier
مِنۡهُمۡ
than them
قُوَّةً‌ۖ
(in) strength
وَكَانُواۡ
But they used to
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا
in Our Signs
يَجۡحَدُونَ
deny
١٥
As for ʿAad, they were arrogant upon the earth without right and said, "Who is greater than us in strength?" Did they not consider that Allāh who created them was greater than them in strength? But they were rejecting Our signs.
41:16
فَأَرۡسَلۡنَا
So We sent
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
upon them
رِيحًا
a wind
صَرۡصَرًا
furious
فِىٓ
in
أَيَّامٍ
(the) days
نَّحِسَاتٍ
(of) misfortune
لِّنُذِيقَهُمۡ
that We may make them taste
عَذَابَ
(the) punishment
ٱلۡخِزۡىِ
(of) disgrace
فِى
in
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا‌ۖ
(of) the world
وَلَعَذَابُ
And surely, (the) punishment
ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ
(of) the Hereafter
أَخۡزَىٰ‌ۖ
(is) more disgracing
وَهُمۡ
and they
لَا
will not be helped
يُنصَرُونَ
will not be helped
١٦
So We sent upon them a screaming wind during days of misfortune to make them taste the punishment of disgrace in the worldly life; but the punishment of the Hereafter is more disgracing, and they will not be helped.
41:17
وَأَمَّا
And as for
ثَمُودُ
Thamud
فَهَدَيۡنَـٰهُمۡ
We guided them
فَٱسۡتَحَبُّواۡ
but they preferred
ٱلۡعَمَىٰ
[the] blindness
عَلَى
over
ٱلۡهُدَىٰ
the guidance
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمۡ
so seized them
صَـٰعِقَةُ
a thunderbolt
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
(of) the punishment
ٱلۡهُونِ
humiliating
بِمَا
for what
كَانُواۡ
they used to
يَكۡسِبُونَ
earn
١٧
And as for Thamūd, We guided them, but they preferred blindness over guidance, so the thunderbolt of humiliating punishment seized them for what they used to earn.
41:18
وَنَجَّيۡنَا
And We saved
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believed
وَكَانُواۡ
and used to
يَتَّقُونَ
fear (Allah)
١٨
And We saved those who believed and used to fear Allāh.
41:19
وَيَوۡمَ
And (the) Day
يُحۡشَرُ
will be gathered
أَعۡدَآءُ
(the) enemies
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
إِلَى
to
ٱلنَّارِ
the Fire
فَهُمۡ
then they
يُوزَعُونَ
will be assembled in rows
١٩
And [mention, O Muḥammad], the Day when the enemies of Allāh will be gathered to the Fire while they are [driven], assembled in rows,
41:20
حَتَّىٰٓ
Until
إِذَا
when
مَا
when
جَآءُوهَا
they come to it
شَهِدَ
(will) testify
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
against them
سَمۡعُهُمۡ
their hearing
وَأَبۡصَـٰرُهُمۡ
and their sight
وَجُلُودُهُم
and their skins
بِمَا
(as) to what
كَانُواۡ
they used to
يَعۡمَلُونَ
do
٢٠
Until, when they reach it, their hearing and their eyes and their skins will testify against them of what they used to do.
41:21
وَقَالُواۡ
And they will say
لِجُلُودِهِمۡ
to their skins
لِمَ
Why do
شَهِدتُّمۡ
you testify
عَلَيۡنَا‌ۖ
against us
قَالُوٓاۡ
They will say
أَنطَقَنَا
Allah made us speak
ٱللَّهُ
Allah made us speak
ٱلَّذِىٓ
the One Who
أَنطَقَ
makes speak
كُلَّ
every
شَىۡءٍ
thing
وَهُوَ
and He
خَلَقَكُمۡ
created you
أَوَّلَ
(the) first
مَرَّةٍ
time
وَإِلَيۡهِ
and to Him
تُرۡجَعُونَ
you will be returned
٢١
And they will say to their skins, "Why have you testified against us?" They will say, "We were made to speak by Allāh, who has made everything speak; and He created you the first time, and to Him you are returned.
41:22
وَمَا
And not
كُنتُمۡ
you were
تَسۡتَتِرُونَ
covering yourselves
أَن
lest
يَشۡهَدَ
testify
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
against you
سَمۡعُكُمۡ
your hearing
وَلَآ
and not
أَبۡصَـٰرُكُمۡ
your sight
وَلَا
and not
جُلُودُكُمۡ
your skins
وَلَـٰكِن
but
ظَنَنتُمۡ
you assumed
أَنَّ
that
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
لَا
(does) not
يَعۡلَمُ
know
كَثِيرًا
much
مِّمَّا
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
you do
٢٢
And you were not covering [i.e., protecting] yourselves,1 lest your hearing testify against you or your sight or your skins, but you assumed that Allāh does not know much of what you do.
41:23
وَذٰلِكُمۡ
And that
ظَنُّكُمُ
(was) your assumption
ٱلَّذِى
which
ظَنَنتُم
you assumed
بِرَبِّكُمۡ
about your Lord
أَرۡدَٮٰكُمۡ
It has ruined you
فَأَصۡبَحۡتُم
and you have become
مِّنَ
of
ٱلۡخَـٰسِرِينَ
the losers
٢٣
And that was your assumption which you assumed about your Lord. It has brought you to ruin, and you have become among the losers."
41:24
فَإِن
Then if
يَصۡبِرُواۡ
they endure
فَٱلنَّارُ
the Fire
مَثۡوًى
(is) an abode
لَّهُمۡ‌ۖ
for them
وَإِن
and if
يَسۡتَعۡتِبُواۡ
they ask for favor
فَمَا
then not
هُم
they
مِّنَ
(will be) of
ٱلۡمُعۡتَبِينَ
those who receive favor
٢٤
So [even] if they are patient, the Fire is a residence for them; and if they ask to appease [Allāh], they will not be of those who are allowed to appease.
41:25
۞وَقَيَّضۡنَا
And We have destined
لَهُمۡ
for them
قُرَنَآءَ
companions
فَزَيَّنُواۡ
(who) made fair-seeming
لَهُم
to them
مَّا
what
بَيۡنَ
(was) before them
أَيۡدِيهِمۡ
(was) before them
وَمَا
and what
خَلۡفَهُمۡ
(was) behind them
وَحَقَّ
and (is) justified
عَلَيۡهِمُ
against them
ٱلۡقَوۡلُ
the Word
فِىٓ
among
أُمَمٍ
nations
قَدۡ
(that have) passed away
خَلَتۡ
(that have) passed away
مِن
before them
قَبۡلِهِم
before them
مِّنَ
of
ٱلۡجِنِّ
the jinn
وَٱلۡإِنسِ‌ۖ
and the men
إِنَّهُمۡ
Indeed, they
كَانُواۡ
were
خَـٰسِرِينَ
losers
٢٥
And We appointed for them companions1 who made attractive to them what was before them and what was behind them [of sin], and the word [i.e., decree] has come into effect upon them among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers.
41:26
وَقَالَ
And said
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
لَا
(Do) not
تَسۡمَعُواۡ
listen
لِهَـٰذَا
to this
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ
Quran
وَٱلۡغَوۡاۡ
and make noise
فِيهِ
therein
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
so that you may
تَغۡلِبُونَ
overcome
٢٦
And those who disbelieve say, "Do not listen to this Qur’ān and speak noisily1 during [the recitation of] it that perhaps you will overcome."
41:27
فَلَنُذِيقَنَّ
But surely We will cause to taste
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
عَذَابًا
a punishment
شَدِيدًا
severe
وَلَنَجۡزِيَنَّهُمۡ
and surely We will recompense them
أَسۡوَأَ
(the) worst
ٱلَّذِى
(of) what
كَانُواۡ
they used to
يَعۡمَلُونَ
do
٢٧
But We will surely cause those who disbelieve to taste a severe punishment, and We will surely recompense them for the worst of what they had been doing.
41:28
ذٰلِكَ
That
جَزَآءُ
(is the) recompense
أَعۡدَآءِ
(of the) enemies
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
ٱلنَّارُ‌ۖ
the Fire
لَهُمۡ
for them
فِيهَا
therein
دَارُ
(is the) home
ٱلۡخُلۡدِ‌ۖ
(of) the eternity
جَزَآءَۢ
(as) recompense
بِمَا
for what
كَانُواۡ
they used to
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا
of Our Verses
يَجۡحَدُونَ
reject
٢٨
That is the recompense of the enemies of Allāh - the Fire. For them therein is the home of eternity as recompense for what they, of Our verses, were rejecting.
41:29
وَقَالَ
And (will) say
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
رَبَّنَآ
Our Lord
أَرِنَا
Show us
ٱلَّذَيۡنِ
those who
أَضَلَّانَا
misled us
مِنَ
of
ٱلۡجِنِّ
the jinn
وَٱلۡإِنسِ
and the men
نَجۡعَلۡهُمَا
(so) we may put them
تَحۡتَ
under
أَقۡدَامِنَا
our feet
لِيَكُونَا
that they be
مِنَ
of
ٱلۡأَسۡفَلِينَ
the lowest
٢٩
And those who disbelieved will [then] say, "Our Lord, show us those who misled us of the jinn and men [so] we may put them under our feet1 that they will be among the lowest."
41:30
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
قَالُواۡ
say
رَبُّنَا
Our Lord
ٱللَّهُ
(is) Allah
ثُمَّ
then
ٱسۡتَقَـٰمُواۡ
stand firm
تَتَنَزَّلُ
will descend
عَلَيۡهِمُ
on them
ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ
the Angels
أَلَّا
(Do) not
تَخَافُواۡ
fear
وَلَا
and (do) not
تَحۡزَنُواۡ
grieve
وَأَبۡشِرُواۡ
but receive the glad tidings
بِٱلۡجَنَّةِ
of Paradise
ٱلَّتِى
which
كُنتُمۡ
you were
تُوعَدُونَ
promised
٣٠
Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allāh" and then remained on a right course - the angels will descend upon them, [saying], "Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised.
41:31
نَحۡنُ
We
أَوۡلِيَآؤُكُمۡ
(are) your protectors
فِى
in
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
(of) the world
وَفِى
and in
ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ‌ۖ
the Hereafter
وَلَكُمۡ
And for you
فِيهَا
therein
مَا
whatever
تَشۡتَهِىٓ
desire
أَنفُسُكُمۡ
your souls
وَلَكُمۡ
and for you
فِيهَا
therein
مَا
what
تَدَّعُونَ
you ask
٣١
We [angels] were your allies in worldly life and [are so] in the Hereafter. And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you request [or wish]
41:32
نُزُلاً
A hospitable gift
مِّنۡ
from
غَفُورٍ
(the) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٍ
(the) Most Merciful
٣٢
As accommodation from a [Lord who is] Forgiving and Merciful."
41:33
وَمَنۡ
And who
أَحۡسَنُ
(is) better
قَوۡلاً
(in) speech
مِّمَّن
than (one) who
دَعَآ
invites
إِلَى
to
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
وَعَمِلَ
and does
صَـٰلِحًا
righteous (deeds)
وَقَالَ
and says
إِنَّنِى
Indeed, I am
مِنَ
of
ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ
those who submit
٣٣
And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allāh and does righteousness and says, "Indeed, I am of the Muslims."
41:34
وَلَا
And not
تَسۡتَوِى
(are) equal
ٱلۡحَسَنَةُ
the good (deed)
وَلَا
and
ٱلسَّيِّئَةُ‌ۚ
the evil (deed)
ٱدۡفَعۡ
Repel
بِٱلَّتِى
by (that) which
هِىَ
[it]
أَحۡسَنُ
(is) better
فَإِذَا
then behold
ٱلَّذِى
One who
بَيۡنَكَ
between you
وَبَيۡنَهُۥ
and between him
عَدٰوَةٌ
(was) enmity
كَأَنَّهُۥ
(will become) as if he
وَلِىٌّ
(was) a friend
حَمِيمٌ
intimate
٣٤
And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel [evil] by that [deed] which is better; and thereupon, the one whom between you and him is enmity [will become] as though he was a devoted friend.
41:35
وَمَا
And not
يُلَقَّـٰهَآ
it is granted
إِلَّا
except
ٱلَّذِينَ
(to) those who
صَبَرُواۡ
(are) patient
وَمَا
and not
يُلَقَّـٰهَآ
it is granted
إِلَّا
except
ذُو
(to the) owner
حَظٍّ
(of) fortune
عَظِيمٍ
great
٣٥
But none is granted it except those who are patient, and none is granted it except one having a great portion [of good].
41:36
وَإِمَّا
And if
يَنزَغَنَّكَ
whisper comes to you
مِنَ
from
ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنِ
the Shaitaan
نَزۡغٌ
an evil suggestion
فَٱسۡتَعِذۡ
then seek refuge
بِٱللَّهِ‌ۖ
in Allah
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, He
هُوَ
[He]
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
(is) the All-Hearer
ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
the All-Knower
٣٦
And if there comes to you from Satan an evil suggestion, then seek refuge in Allāh. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
41:37
وَمِنۡ
And of
ءَايَـٰتِهِ
His Signs
ٱلَّيۡلُ
(are) the night
وَٱلنَّهَارُ
and the day
وَٱلشَّمۡسُ
and the sun
وَٱلۡقَمَرُ‌ۚ
and the moon
لَا
(Do) not
تَسۡجُدُواۡ
prostrate
لِلشَّمۡسِ
to the sun
وَلَا
and not
لِلۡقَمَرِ
to the moon
وَٱسۡجُدُواۡ
but prostrate
لِلَّهِ
to Allah
ٱلَّذِى
the One Who
خَلَقَهُنَّ
created them
إِن
if
كُنتُمۡ
you
إِيَّاهُ
Him alone
تَعۡبُدُونَ
worship
٣٧
And of His signs are the night and day and the sun and moon. Do not prostrate to the sun or to the moon, but prostrate to Allāh, who created them, if it should be Him that you worship.1
41:38
فَإِنِ
But if
ٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواۡ
they are arrogant
فَٱلَّذِينَ
then those who
عِندَ
(are) near
رَبِّكَ
your Lord
يُسَبِّحُونَ
glorify
لَهُۥ
Him
بِٱلَّيۡلِ
by night
وَٱلنَّهَارِ
and day
وَهُمۡ
And they
لَا
(do) not
يَسۡــَٔمُونَ
tire
۩
But if they are arrogant - then those who are near your Lord [i.e., the angels] exalt Him by night and by day, and they do not become weary.
41:39
وَمِنۡ
And among
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ
His Signs
أَنَّكَ
(is) that you
تَرَى
see
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
the earth
خَـٰشِعَةً
barren
فَإِذَآ
but when
أَنزَلۡنَا
We send down
عَلَيۡهَا
upon it
ٱلۡمَآءَ
water
ٱهۡتَزَّتۡ
it is stirred (to life)
وَرَبَتۡ‌ۚ
and grows
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِىٓ
the One Who
أَحۡيَاهَا
gives it life
لَمُحۡىِ
(is) surely the Giver of life
ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰٓ‌ۚ
(to) the dead
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, He
عَلَىٰ
(is) on
كُلِّ
every
شَىۡءٍ
thing
قَدِيرٌ
All-Powerful
٣٩
And of His signs is that you see the earth stilled, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and grows. Indeed, He who has given it life is the Giver of Life to the dead. Indeed, He is over all things competent.
41:40
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
يُلۡحِدُونَ
distort
فِىٓ
[in]
ءَايَـٰتِنَا
Our Verses
لَا
(are) not
يَخۡفَوۡنَ
hidden
عَلَيۡنَآ‌ۗ
from Us
أَفَمَن
So, is (he) who
يُلۡقَىٰ
is cast
فِى
in
ٱلنَّارِ
the Fire
خَيۡرٌ
better
أَم
or
مَّن
(he) who
يَأۡتِىٓ
comes
ءَامِنًا
secure
يَوۡمَ
(on the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ‌ۚ
(of) Resurrection
ٱعۡمَلُواۡ
Do
مَا
what
شِئۡتُمۡ‌ۖ
you will
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, He
بِمَا
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
you do
بَصِيرٌ
(is) All-Seer
٤٠
Indeed, those who inject deviation into Our verses1 are not concealed from Us. So, is he who is cast into the Fire better or he who comes secure on the Day of Resurrection? Do whatever you will; indeed, He is Seeing of what you do.
41:41
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
بِٱلذِّكۡرِ
in the Reminder
لَمَّا
when
جَآءَهُمۡ‌ۖ
it comes to them
وَإِنَّهُۥ
And indeed, it
لَكِتَـٰبٌ
(is) surely a Book
عَزِيزٌ
mighty
٤١
Indeed, those who disbelieve in the message [i.e., the Qur’ān]1 after it has come to them...2 And indeed, it is a mighty3 Book.
41:42
لَّا
Not
يَأۡتِيهِ
comes to it
ٱلۡبَـٰطِلُ
the falsehood
مِنۢ
from
بَيۡنِ
before it
يَدَيۡهِ
before it
وَلَا
and not
مِنۡ
from
خَلۡفِهِۦ‌ۖ
behind it
تَنزِيلٌ
A Revelation
مِّنۡ
from
حَكِيمٍ
(the) All-Wise
حَمِيدٍ
(the) Praiseworthy
٤٢
Falsehood cannot approach it from before it or from behind it; [it is] a revelation from a [Lord who is] Wise and Praiseworthy.
41:43
مَّا
Not
يُقَالُ
is said
لَكَ
to you
إِلَّا
except
مَا
what
قَدۡ
was said
قِيلَ
was said
لِلرُّسُلِ
to the Messengers
مِن
before you
قَبۡلِكَ‌ۚ
before you
إِنَّ
Indeed
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
لَذُو
(is) Possessor
مَغۡفِرَةٍ
(of) forgiveness
وَذُو
and Possessor
عِقَابٍ
(of) penalty
أَلِيمٍ
painful
٤٣
Nothing is said to you, [O Muḥammad], except what was already said to the messengers before you. Indeed, your Lord is a possessor of forgiveness and a possessor of painful penalty.
41:44
وَلَوۡ
And if
جَعَلۡنَـٰهُ
We (had) made it
قُرۡءَانًا
a Quran
أَعۡجَمِيًّا
(in) a foreign (language)
لَّقَالُواۡ
they (would have) said
لَوۡلَا
Why not
فُصِّلَتۡ
are explained in detail
ءَايَـٰتُهُۥٓ‌ۖ
its verses
ءَا۠عۡجَمِىٌّ۬
(Is it) a foreign (language)
وَعَرَبِىٌّ‌ۗ
and an Arab
قُلۡ
Say
هُوَ
It (is)
لِلَّذِينَ
for those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
هُدًى
a guidance
وَشِفَآءٌ‌ۖ
and a healing
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
لَا
(do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
believe
فِىٓ
in
ءَاذَانِهِمۡ
their ears
وَقۡرٌ
(is) deafness
وَهُوَ
and it
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
(is) for them
عَمًى‌ۚ
blindness
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
Those
يُنَادَوۡنَ
are being called
مِن
from
مَّكَانِۭ
a place
بَعِيدٍ
far
٤٤
And if We had made it a foreign [i.e., non-Arabic] Qur’ān, they would have said, "Why are its verses not explained in detail [in our language]? Is it a foreign [recitation] and an Arab [messenger]?" Say, "It is, for those who believe, a guidance and cure." And those who do not believe - in their ears is deafness, and it is upon them blindness. Those are being called from a distant place.1
41:45
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
ءَاتَيۡنَا
We gave
مُوسَى
Musa
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ
the Book
فَٱخۡتُلِفَ
but disputes arose
فِيهِ‌ۗ
therein
وَلَوۡلَا
And had it not been
كَلِمَةٌ
(for) a word
سَبَقَتۡ
(that) preceded
مِن
from
رَّبِّكَ
your Lord
لَقُضِىَ
surely, would have been settled
بَيۡنَهُمۡ‌ۚ
between them
وَإِنَّهُمۡ
But indeed, they
لَفِى
surely (are) in
شَكٍّ
doubt
مِّنۡهُ
about it
مُرِيبٍ
disquieting
٤٥
And We had already given Moses the Scripture, but it came under disagreement.1 And if not for a word [i.e., decree]2 that preceded from your Lord, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed they are, concerning it [i.e., the Qur’ān], in disquieting doubt.
41:46
مَّنۡ
Whoever
عَمِلَ
does
صَـٰلِحًا
righteous deeds
فَلِنَفۡسِهِۦ‌ۖ
then it is for his soul
وَمَنۡ
and whoever
أَسَآءَ
does evil
فَعَلَيۡهَا‌ۗ
then it is against it
وَمَا
And not
رَبُّكَ
(is) your Lord
بِظَلَّـٰمٍ
unjust
لِّلۡعَبِيدِ
to His slaves
٤٦
Whoever does righteousness - it is for his [own] soul; and whoever does evil [does so] against it. And your Lord is not ever unjust to [His] servants.
41:47
۞إِلَيۡهِ
To Him
يُرَدُّ
is referred
عِلۡمُ
(the) knowledge
ٱلسَّاعَةِ‌ۚ
(of) the Hour
وَمَا
And not
تَخۡرُجُ
comes out
مِن
any
ثَمَرٰتٍ
fruits
مِّنۡ
from
أَكۡمَامِهَا
their coverings
وَمَا
and not
تَحۡمِلُ
bears
مِنۡ
any
أُنثَىٰ
female
وَلَا
and not
تَضَعُ
gives birth
إِلَّا
except
بِعِلۡمِهِۦ‌ۚ
with His knowledge
وَيَوۡمَ
And (the) Day
يُنَادِيهِمۡ
He will call them
أَيۡنَ
Where (are)
شُرَكَآءِى
My partners
قَالُوٓاۡ
They will say
ءَاذَنَّـٰكَ
We announce (to) You
مَا
not
مِنَّا
among us
مِن
any
شَهِيدٍ
witness
٤٧
To Him [alone] is attributed knowledge of the Hour. And fruits emerge not from their coverings nor does a female conceive or give birth except with His knowledge. And the Day He will call to them, "Where are My 'partners'?" they will say, "We announce to You that there is [no longer] among us any witness [to that]."
41:48
وَضَلَّ
And lost
عَنۡهُم
from them
مَّا
what
كَانُواۡ
they were
يَدۡعُونَ
invoking
مِن
before
قَبۡلُ‌ۖ
before
وَظَنُّواۡ
and they (will) be certain
مَا
(that) not
لَهُم
for them
مِّن
any
مَّحِيصٍ
place of escape
٤٨
And lost from them will be those they were invoking before, and they will be certain that they have no place of escape.
41:49
لَّا
(Does) not
يَسۡــَٔمُ
get tired
ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنُ
man
مِن
of
دُعَآءِ
praying
ٱلۡخَيۡرِ
(for) the good
وَإِن
but if
مَّسَّهُ
touches him
ٱلشَّرُّ
the evil
فَيَــُٔوسٌ
then he gives up hope
قَنُوطٌ
(and) despairs
٤٩
Man is not weary of supplication for good [things], but if evil touches him, he is hopeless and despairing.
41:50
وَلَئِنۡ
And verily, if
أَذَقۡنَـٰهُ
We let him taste
رَحۡمَةً
mercy
مِّنَّا
from Us
مِنۢ
after
بَعۡدِ
after
ضَرَّآءَ
an adversity
مَسَّتۡهُ
(has) touched him
لَيَقُولَنَّ
he will surely say
هَـٰذَا
This (is)
لِى
(due) to me
وَمَآ
and not
أَظُنُّ
I think
ٱلسَّاعَةَ
the Hour
قَآئِمَةً
(will be) established
وَلَئِن
and if
رُّجِعۡتُ
I am returned
إِلَىٰ
to
رَبِّىٓ
my Lord
إِنَّ
indeed
لِى
for me
عِندَهُۥ
with Him
لَلۡحُسۡنَىٰ‌ۚ
(will be) the best
فَلَنُنَبِّئَنَّ
But We will surely inform
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieved
بِمَا
about what
عَمِلُواۡ
they did
وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُم
and We will surely make them taste
مِّنۡ
of
عَذَابٍ
a punishment
غَلِيظٍ
severe
٥٠
And if We let him taste mercy from Us after an adversity which has touched him, he will surely say, "This is [due] to me,1 and I do not think the Hour will occur; and [even] if I should be returned to my Lord, indeed, for me there will be with Him the best." But We will surely inform those who disbelieved about what they did, and We will surely make them taste a massive punishment.
41:51
وَإِذَآ
And when
أَنۡعَمۡنَا
We bestow favor
عَلَى
upon
ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنِ
man
أَعۡرَضَ
he turns away
وَنَـَٔـا
and distances himself
بِجَانِبِهِۦ
and distances himself
وَإِذَا
but when
مَسَّهُ
touches him
ٱلشَّرُّ
the evil
فَذُو
then (he is) full
دُعَآءٍ
(of) supplication
عَرِيضٍ
lengthy
٥١
And when We bestow favor upon man, he turns away and distances himself; but when evil touches him, then he is full of extensive supplication.
41:52
قُلۡ
Say
أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ
You see
إِن
if
كَانَ
it is
مِنۡ
from
عِندِ
from
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
ثُمَّ
then
كَفَرۡتُم
you disbelieve
بِهِۦ
in it
مَنۡ
who
أَضَلُّ
(is) more astray
مِمَّنۡ
than (one) who
هُوَ
he
فِى
(is) in
شِقَاقِۭ
opposition
بَعِيدٍ
far
٥٢
Say, "Have you considered: if it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is from Allāh and you disbelieved in it, who would be more astray than one who is in extreme dissension?"
41:53
سَنُرِيهِمۡ
Soon We will show them
ءَايَـٰتِنَا
Our Signs
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَفَاقِ
the horizons
وَفِىٓ
and in
أَنفُسِهِمۡ
themselves
حَتَّىٰ
until
يَتَبَيَّنَ
becomes clear
لَهُمۡ
to them
أَنَّهُ
that it
ٱلۡحَقُّ‌ۗ
(is) the truth
أَوَلَمۡ
Is (it) not
يَكۡفِ
sufficient
بِرَبِّكَ
concerning your Lord
أَنَّهُۥ
that He
عَلَىٰ
(is) over
كُلِّ
all
شَىۡءٍ
things
شَهِيدٌ
a Witness
٥٣
We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth.1 But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness?2
41:54
أَلَآ
Unquestionably
إِنَّهُمۡ
they
فِى
(are) in
مِرۡيَةٍ
doubt
مِّن
about
لِّقَآءِ
(the) meeting
رَبِّهِمۡ‌ۗ
(with) their Lord
أَلَآ
Unquestionably
إِنَّهُۥ
indeed, He
بِكُلِّ
(is) of all
شَىۡءٍ
things
مُّحِيطُۢ
encompassing
٥٤
Unquestionably, they are in doubt about the meeting with their Lord. Unquestionably He is, of all things, encompassing.
