حمٓ
١Ha Meem
Ḥā, Meem.1
43:2
وَٱ لۡكِتَـٰ بِ
By the Book
the clear
By the clear Book,
43:3
إِنّ َا
Indeed, We
جَعَلۡنَـٰ هُ
(have) made it
قُرۡءٰ نًا
a Quran
عَرَبِيًّا
(in) Arabic
so that you may
تَعۡقِلُو نَ
٣understand
Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur’ān that you might understand.
43:4
وَإِنّ َهُۥ
And indeed, it
فِىٓ
(is) in
أُمّ ِ
(the) Mother
(of) the Book
لَدَيۡنَا
with Us
لَعَلِىٌّ
surely exalted
حَكِي مٌ
٤full of wisdom
And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book1 with Us, exalted and full of wisdom.2
43:5
أَفَنَضۡرِبُ
Then should We take away
عَنك ُمُ
from you
the Reminder
صَفۡحًا
disregarding (you)
أَن
because
you are
قَوۡمًا
a people
transgressing
Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people?
43:6
وَكَمۡ
And how many
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
مِن
of
a Prophet
among
the former (people)
And how many a prophet We sent among the former peoples,
43:7
وَمَا
And not
يَأۡتِيهِم
came to them
any Prophet
any Prophet
إِلَّا
but
كَانُواۡ
they used to
بِهِۦ
mock at him
يَسۡتَهۡزِءُو نَ
٧mock at him
But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him.
43:8
فَأَهۡلَكۡنَآ
Then We destroyed
أَشَدَّ
stronger
مِنۡهُم
than them
(in) power
and has passed
مَثَلُ
(the) example
(of) the former (people)
And We destroyed greater than them1 in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded.
43:9
وَلَئِن
And if
you ask them
Who
خَلَقَ
created
the heavens
وَٱ لۡأَرۡضَ
and the earth
لَيَقُولُنّ َ
They will surely say
خَلَقَهُنّ َ
Created them
the All-Mighty
the All-Knower
And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing,"
43:10
ٱلَّذِى
The One Who
جَعَلَ
made
لَكُمُ
for you
the earth

roads
so that you may
تَهۡتَدُو نَ
١٠(be) guided
[The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided
43:11
وَٱ لَّذِى
And the One Who
نَزَّلَ
sends down
مِنَ
from
the sky
مَا ٓءَۢ
water
in (due) measure
then We revive
بِهِۦ
with it
بَلۡدَةً
a land
dead
thus
تُخۡرَجُو نَ
١١you will be brought forth
And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth -
43:12
وَٱ لَّذِى
And the One Who
خَلَقَ
created
the pairs
كُلَّهَا
all of them
وَجَعَلَ
and made

the ships
وَٱ لۡأَنۡعَـٰ مِ

مَا
what

١٢you ride
And who created the species, all of them, and has made for you of ships and animals those which you mount
43:13
لِتَسۡتَوُۥ اۡ
That you may sit firmly

the One Who

to us
هَـٰ ذَا
this

and not
كُنّ َا
we were
لَهُۥ
of it
مُقۡ رِنِي نَ
١٣capable
That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say, "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it.1
43:14
وَإِنّ َآ
And indeed, we
إِلَىٰ
to
رَبِّنَا
our Lord
لَمُنق َلِبُو نَ
١٤will surely return
And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return."
43:15
وَجَعَلُواۡ
But they attribute

to Him
مِنۡ

جُزۡءًاۚ
a portion
إِنّ َ
Indeed
man
لَكَفُورٌ
surely (is) clearly ungrateful
surely (is) clearly ungrateful
But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion.1 Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful.
43:16
أَمِ
Or
has He taken
مِمّ َا
of what
يَخۡلُقُ
He has created

daughters
and He has chosen (for) you
sons
Or has He taken, out of what He has created, daughters and chosen you for [having] sons?
43:17
وَإِذَا
And when

his face

dark
and he

١٧(is) filled with grief
And when one of them is given good tidings of that which he attributes to the Most Merciful in comparison [i.e., a daughter], his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief.
43:18
أَوَمَن
Then (is one) who

So is one brought up in ornaments while being during conflict unevident1 [attributed to Allāh]?
43:19
وَجَعَلُواۡ
And they made
the Angels

هُمۡ
themselves

(are) slaves
(of) the Most Gracious
إِنَـٰ ثًاۚ
females
أَشَهِدُواۡ
Did they witness
خَلۡقَهُمۡۚ
their creation
سَتُكۡتَبُ
Will be recorded
شَهَـٰ دَتُهُمۡ
their testimony
وَيُسۡــَٔلُو نَ
١٩and they will be questioned
And they described the angels, who are servants of the Most Merciful, as females. Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be recorded, and they will be questioned.
43:20
وَقَالُواۡ
And they say
لَوۡ
If
شَا ٓءَ
had willed
the Most Gracious

we would not have worshipped them
Not

Nothing

but

And they said, "If the Most Merciful had willed, we would not have worshipped them." They have of that no knowledge. They are not but misjudging.
43:21
أَمۡ
Or
ءَاتَيۡنَـٰ هُمۡ
have We given them
كِتَـٰ بًا
a book
before it
before it
فَهُم
so they
to it
مُسۡتَمۡسِكُو نَ
٢١(are) holding fast
Or have We given them a book before it [i.e., the Qur’ān] to which they are adhering?
43:22
بَلۡ
Nay
قَالُوٓ اۡ
they say
إِنّ َا
Indeed, we
وَجَدۡ نَآ
[we] found
ءَابَا ٓءَنَا
our forefathers
عَلَىٰٓ
upon
أُمّ َةٍ
a religion
and indeed, we
عَلَىٰٓ
on
ءَاثَـٰ رِهِم
their footsteps
(are) guided
Rather, they say, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are in their footsteps [rightly] guided."
43:23
وَكَذٰ لِكَ
And thus
مَآ
not
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent

before you

إِنّ َا
Indeed, we
وَجَدۡ نَآ
[we] found
ءَابَا ٓءَنَا
our forefathers
عَلَىٰٓ
on
أُمّ َةٍ
a religion
and indeed, we
عَلَىٰٓ
[on]
ءَاثَـٰ رِهِم
their footsteps
(are) following
And similarly, We did not send before you any warner into a city except that its affluent said, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are, in their footsteps, following."
43:24
۞قَـٰ لَ
He said
أَوَلَوۡ
Even if
جِئۡتُكُم
I brought you
better guidance
مِمّ َا
than what
وَجَد تُّمۡ
you found
عَلَيۡهِ
on it
ءَابَا ٓءَكُمۡۖ
your forefathers
قَالُوٓ اۡ
They said
إِنّ َا
Indeed, we
بِمَآ
with what
أُرۡسِلۡتُم
you are sent
with [it]
كَـٰ فِرُو نَ
٢٤(are) disbelievers
[Each warner] said, "Even if I brought you better guidance than that [religion] upon which you found your fathers?" They said, "Indeed we, in that with which you were sent, are disbelievers."
43:25
فَٱ نت َقَمۡنَا
So We took retribution
مِنۡهُمۡۖ
from them
فَٱ نظ ُرۡ
Then see
كَيۡفَ
how
كَانَ
was
عَـٰ قِبَةُ
(the) end
(of) the deniers
So We took retribution from them; then see how was the end of the deniers.
43:26
وَإِذۡ
And when
قَالَ
Ibrahim Said

Ibrahim Said
لِأَبِيهِ
to his father
وَقَوۡمِهِۦٓ
and his people
إِنّ َنِى
Indeed, I (am)
بَرَا ٓءٌ
disassociated
from what
تَعۡبُدُو نَ
٢٦you worship
And [mention, O Muḥammad], when Abraham said to his father and his people, "Indeed, I am disassociated from that which you worship
43:27
إِلَّا
Except
the One Who
فَطَرَنِى
created me
فَإِنّ َهُۥ
and indeed, He
سَيَهۡدِي نِ
٢٧will guide me
Except for He who created me; and indeed, He will guide me."
43:28
وَجَعَلَهَا
And he made it
كَلِمَةَۢ
a word
lasting
among
عَقِبِهِۦ
his descendents
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
so that they may
يَرۡجِعُو نَ
٢٨return
And he made it1 a word remaining among his descendants that they might return [to it].
43:29
بَلۡ
Nay
مَتَّعۡتُ
I gave enjoyment
هَـٰٓ ؤُلَا ٓءِ
(to) these
وَءَابَا ٓءَهُمۡ
and their forefathers
حَتَّىٰ
until
جَا ٓءَهُمُ
came to them
the truth
وَرَسُولٌ
and a Messenger
clear
However, I gave enjoyment to these [people of Makkah] and their fathers1 until there came to them the truth and a clear Messenger.2
43:30
وَلَمّ َا
And when
جَا ٓءَهُمُ
came to them
the truth
قَالُواۡ
they said
هَـٰ ذَا
This

and indeed, we
بِهِۦ
of it
كَـٰ فِرُو نَ
٣٠(are) disbelievers
But when the truth came to them, they said, "This is magic, and indeed we are, concerning it, disbelievers."
43:31
وَقَالُواۡ
And they say
لَوۡلَا
Why not

هَـٰ ذَا
this
the Quran
عَلَىٰ

رَجُلٍ
a man
from
the two towns
عَظِي مٍ
٣١great
And they said, "Why was this Qur’ān not sent down upon a great man from [one of] the two cities?"1
43:32
أَهُمۡ
Do they
يَقۡ سِمُونَ

the life
(of) the world
وَرَفَعۡنَا
and We raise

others
(in) degrees
so that may take

But (the) Mercy

(of) your Lord
خَيۡرٌ

than what
يَجۡ مَعُو نَ
٣٢they accumulate
Do they distribute the mercy of your Lord? It is We who have apportioned among them their livelihood in the life of this world and have raised some of them above others in degrees [of rank] that they may make use of one another for service. But the mercy of your Lord is better than whatever they accumulate.
43:33
وَلَوۡلَآ
And if not
أَن
that
(would) become
[the] mankind
أُمّ َةً
a community

We (would have) made

disbelieves
بِٱ ل رَّحۡمَـٰ نِ
in the Most Gracious
لِبُيُوتِهِمۡ
for their houses
سُقُفًا
roofs
of
silver
and stairways
عَلَيۡهَا
upon which
يَظۡهَرُو نَ
٣٣they mount
And if it were not that the people would become one community [of disbelievers],1 We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Most Merciful - for their houses - ceilings and stairways of silver upon which to mount.
43:34
وَلِبُيُوتِهِمۡ
And for their houses
أَبۡ وٰ بًا
doors
and couches
عَلَيۡهَا
upon which
يَتَّكِــُٔو نَ
٣٤they recline
And for their houses - doors and couches [of silver] upon which to recline
43:35
وَزُخۡرُفًاۚ
And ornaments of gold
And not (is)
all
ذٰ لِكَ
that
لَمّ َا
but
مَتَـٰ عُ
an enjoyment

(of) the world
وَٱ لۡأَخِرَةُ
And the Hereafter
عِند َ
with
رَبِّكَ
your Lord
لِلۡمُتَّقِي نَ
٣٥(is) for the righteous
And gold ornament. But all that is not but the enjoyment of worldly life. And the Hereafter with your Lord is for the righteous.
43:36
وَمَن
And whoever
turns away
عَن
from
(the) remembrance
(of) the Most Gracious

We appoint

a devil
then he
لَهُۥ

٣٦a companion
And whoever is blinded from remembrance of the Most Merciful - We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion.
43:37
وَإِنّ َهُمۡ
And indeed, they
لَيَصُدُّونَهُمۡ

And indeed, they [i.e., the devils] avert them from the way [of guidance] while they think that they are [rightly] guided
43:38

when

فَبِئۡسَ
How wretched is
the companion
Until, when he comes to Us [at Judgement], he says [to his companion], "How I wish there was between me and you the distance between the east and west; and what a wretched companion."
43:39

And never will it benefit you that Day, when you have wronged, that you are [all] sharing in the punishment.
43:40

Then can you

Then will you make the deaf hear, [O Muḥammad], or guide the blind or he who is in clear error?
43:41
فَإِمّ َا
And whether
نَذۡهَبَنّ َ
We take you away
بِكَ
We take you away
فَإِنّ َا
then indeed, We
مِنۡهُم
from them
(will) take retribution
And whether [or not] We take you away [in death], indeed, We will take retribution upon them.
43:42
أَوۡ
Or
نُرِيَنّ َكَ
We show you
that which
وَعَدۡ نَـٰ هُمۡ
We have promised them
فَإِنّ َا
then indeed, We

over them
have full power
Or whether [or not] We show you that which We have promised them, indeed, We are Perfect in Ability.
43:43

Indeed, you

Straight
So adhere to that which is revealed to you. Indeed, you are on a straight path.
43:44
وَإِنّ َهُۥ
And indeed, it

تُسۡــَٔلُو نَ
٤٤you will be questioned
And indeed, it is a remembrance1 for you and your people, and you [all] are going to be questioned.
43:45
وَسۡــَٔلۡ
And ask
مَنۡ
(those) whom
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
مِن
before you
before you
مِن
of
Our Messengers
أَجَعَلۡنَا
did We make
مِن
besides
besides
the Most Gracious
ءَالِهَةً
gods
to be worshipped
And ask those We sent before you of Our messengers; have We made besides the Most Merciful deities to be worshipped?
43:46
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
مُوسَىٰ
Musa
بِـَٔـايَـٰ تِنَآ
with Our Signs
إِلَىٰ
to
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firaun
وَمَلَإِيۡ هِۦ
and his chiefs
فَقَالَ
and he said
إِنّ ِى
Indeed, I am
رَسُولُ
a Messenger
رَبِّ
(of the) Lord
(of) the worlds
And certainly did We send Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, and he said, "Indeed, I am the messenger of the Lord of the worlds."
43:47
فَلَمّ َا
But when
جَا ٓءَهُم
he came to them
with Our Signs
إِذَا
behold
هُم
They
at them
يَضۡحَكُو نَ
٤٧laughed
But when he brought them Our signs, at once they laughed at them.
43:48
وَمَا
And not
نُرِيهِم
We showed them
of
ءَايَةٍ
a Sign
إِلَّا
but
هِىَ
it
أَكۡبَرُ
(was) greater
مِنۡ
than
أُخۡتِهَاۖ
its sister
وَأَخَذۡنَـٰ هُم
and We seized them
with the punishment
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
so that they may
يَرۡجِعُو نَ
٤٨return
And We showed them not a sign except that it was greater than its sister, and We seized them with affliction that perhaps they might return [to faith].
43:49
وَقَالُواۡ
And they said
يَـٰٓ أَيُّهَ
O
[the] magician
Invoke
لَنَا
for us
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
بِمَا
by what
عَهِدَ
He has made covenant
عِند َكَ
with you
إِنّ َنَا
Indeed, we
لَمُهۡتَدُو نَ
٤٩(will) surely be guided
And they said [to Moses], "O magician, invoke for us your Lord by what He has promised you. Indeed, we will be guided."
43:50
فَلَمّ َا
But when
كَشَفۡنَا
We removed
عَنۡهُمُ
from them
the punishment
إِذَا
behold
هُمۡ
They
يَنك ُثُو نَ
٥٠broke (their word)
But when We removed from them the affliction, at once they broke their word.
43:51
وَنَادَىٰ
And called out
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
Firaun
فِى
among
قَوۡمِهِۦ
his people
قَالَ
he said
يَـٰ قَوۡمِ
O my people
أَلَيۡسَ
Is not
لِى
for me
مُلۡكُ
(the) kingdom
مِصۡرَ
(of) Egypt
وَهَـٰ ذِهِ
and these
[the] rivers
تَجۡ رِى
flowing
مِن
underneath me
underneath me
أَفَلَا
Then do not
تُبۡ صِرُو نَ
٥١you see
And Pharaoh called out among his people; he said, "O my people, does not the kingdom of Egypt belong to me, and these rivers flowing beneath me; then do you not see?
43:52
أَمۡ
Or
أَنَاۡ
am I
خَيۡرٌ
better
than
هَـٰ ذَا
this
one who
هُوَ
he
مَهِينٌ
(is) insignificant
and hardly
يَكَادُ
and hardly
يُبِي نُ
٥٢clear
Or am I [not] better than this one [i.e., Moses] who is insignificant and hardly makes himself clear?1
43:53
فَلَوۡلَآ
Then why not
أُلۡقِىَ
are placed
عَلَيۡهِ
on him
أَسۡوِرَةٌ
bracelets
of
gold
أَوۡ
or
جَا ٓءَ
come
مَعَهُ
with him
the Angels
مُقۡ تَرِنِي نَ
٥٣accompanying (him)
Then why have there not been placed upon him bracelets of gold or come with him the angels in conjunction?"
43:54
فَٱ سۡتَخَفَّ
So he bluffed
قَوۡمَهُۥ
his people
فَأَطَاعُوهُۚ
and they obeyed him
إِنّ َهُمۡ
Indeed, they
كَانُواۡ
were
قَوۡمًا
a people
defiantly disobedient
So he bluffed his people, and they obeyed him. Indeed, they were [themselves] a people defiantly disobedient [of Allāh].
43:55
فَلَمّ َآ
So when
ءَاسَفُونَا
they angered Us
We took retribution
مِنۡهُمۡ
from them
فَأَغۡرَقۡ نَـٰ هُمۡ
and We drowned them
أَجۡ مَعِي نَ
٥٥all
And when they angered Us, We took retribution from them and drowned them all.
43:56
فَجَعَلۡنَـٰ هُمۡ
And We made them
سَلَفًا
a precedent
and an example
for the later (generations)
And We made them a precedent and an example for the later peoples.
43:57
۞وَلَمّ َا
And when
ضُرِبَ
is presented
(the) son
مَرۡيَمَ
(of) Maryam
مَثَلاً
(as) an example
إِذَا
behold
قَوۡمُكَ
Your people
مِنۡهُ
about it
يَصِدُّو نَ
٥٧laughed aloud
And when the son of Mary was presented as an example,1 immediately your people laughed aloud.
43:58
وَقَالُوٓ اۡ
And they said
ءَأٰ لِهَتُنَا
Are our gods
خَيۡرٌ
better
أَمۡ
or
هُوَۚ
he
مَا
Not
ضَرَبُوهُ
they present it
لَكَ
to you
إِلَّا
except
جَدَلاَۢۚ
(for) argument
Nay
هُمۡ
they
قَوۡمٌ
(are) a people
خَصِمُو نَ
٥٨argumentative
And they said, "Are our gods better, or is he?"1 They did not present it [i.e., the comparison] except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute.
43:59
إِنۡ
Not
هُوَ
he
إِلَّا
(was) except
عَبۡ دٌ
a slave
أَنۡعَمۡنَا
We bestowed Our favor
عَلَيۡهِ
on him
وَجَعَلۡنَـٰ هُ
and We made him
مَثَلاً
an example
for (the) Children of Israel
إِسۡرٰ ٓءِي لَ
٥٩for (the) Children of Israel
He [i.e., Jesus] was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel.
43:60
وَلَوۡ
And if
نَشَا ٓءُ
We willed
لَجَعَلۡنَا
surely We (could have) made
مِنك ُم
among you
Angels
in
the earth
يَخۡلُفُو نَ
٦٠succeeding
And if We willed, We could have made [instead] of you angels succeeding [one another]1 on the earth.
43:61
وَإِنّ َهُۥ
And indeed, it
لَعِلۡمٌ
surely (is) a knowledge
of the Hour
فَلَا
So (do) not
تَمۡتَرُنّ َ
(be) doubtful
بِهَا
about it
وَٱ تَّبِعُونِۚ
and follow Me
هَـٰ ذَا
This
صِرٰ طٌ
(is the) Path
Straight
And indeed, he [i.e., Jesus] will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me.1 This is a straight path.
43:62
وَلَا
And (let) not
يَصُدَّنّ َكُمُ
avert you
the Shaitaan
إِنّ َهُۥ
Indeed, he
لَكُمۡ
(is) for you
عَدُوٌّ
an enemy
clear
And never let Satan avert you. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.
43:63
وَلَمّ َا
And when
جَا ٓءَ
came
عِيسَىٰ
Isa
بِٱ لۡبَيِّنَـٰ تِ
with clear proofs
قَالَ
he said
قَدۡ
Verily
جِئۡتُكُم
I have come to you
with wisdom
وَلِأُبَيِّنَ
and that I make clear
لَكُم
to you
some
(of) that which
تَخۡتَلِفُونَ
you differ
فِيهِۖ
in it
فَٱ تَّقُواۡ
So fear
Allah
وَأَطِيعُو نِ
٦٣and obey me
And when Jesus brought clear proofs, he said, "I have come to you with wisdom [i.e., prophethood] and to make clear to you some of that over which you differ, so fear Allāh and obey me.
43:64
إِنّ َ
Indeed
Allah
هُوَ
He
رَبِّى
(is) my Lord
وَرَبُّكُمۡ
and your Lord
فَٱ عۡبُدُوهُۚ
so worship Him
هَـٰ ذَا
This
صِرٰ طٌ
(is) a Path
Straight
Indeed, Allāh is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path."
43:65
فَٱ خۡتَلَفَ
But differed
the factions
مِنۢ
from
among them
فَوَيۡلٌ
so woe
to those who
ظَلَمُواۡ
wronged
مِنۡ
from
عَذَابِ
(the) punishment
يَوۡمٍ
(of the) Day
أَلِي مٍ
٦٥painful
But the denominations from among them differed [and separated], so woe to those who have wronged from the punishment of a painful Day.
43:66
هَلۡ
Are
يَنظ ُرُونَ
they waiting
إِلَّا
except
(for) the Hour
أَن
that
it should come on them
suddenly
while they
لَا
(do) not
يَشۡعُرُو نَ
٦٦perceive
Are they waiting except for the Hour to come upon them suddenly while they perceive not?
43:67
ٱلۡأَخِلَّا ٓءُ
Friends
يَوۡمَئِذِۭ
that Day
some of them
لِبَعۡضٍ
to others
عَدُوٌّ
(will be) enemies
إِلَّا
except
the righteous
Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous
43:68
يَـٰ عِبَادِ
O My slaves
لَا
No
خَوۡفٌ
fear
عَلَيۡكُمُ
on you
this Day
وَلَآ
and not
أَنت ُمۡ
you
تَحۡزَنُو نَ
٦٨will grieve
[To whom Allāh will say], "O My servants, no fear will there be concerning you this Day, nor will you grieve,
43:69
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believed
بِـَٔـايَـٰ تِنَا
in Our Verses
وَكَانُواۡ
and were
مُسۡلِمِي نَ
٦٩submissive
[You] who believed in Our verses and were Muslims.
43:70
ٱدۡ خُلُواۡ
Enter
Paradise
أَنت ُمۡ
you
وَأَزۡوٰ جُكُمۡ
and your spouses
تُحۡبَرُو نَ
٧٠delighted
Enter Paradise, you and your kinds,1 delighted."
43:71
يُطَافُ
Will be circulated
عَلَيۡهِم
for them
plates
of
gold
and cups
And therein
مَا
(is) what
تَشۡتَهِيهِ
desires
the souls
وَتَلَذُّ
and delights
the eyes
وَأَنت ُمۡ
and you
فِيهَا
therein
خَـٰ لِدُو نَ
٧١will abide forever
Circulated among them will be plates and vessels of gold. And therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes, and you will abide therein eternally.
43:72
وَتِلۡكَ
And this
(is) the Paradise
which
أُورِثۡتُمُوهَا
you are made to inherit
بِمَا
for what
كُنت ُمۡ
you used to
تَعۡمَلُو نَ
٧٢do
And that is Paradise which you are made to inherit for what you used to do.
43:73
لَكُمۡ
For you
فِيهَا
therein
فَـٰ كِهَةٌ
(are) fruits
abundant
from it
تَأۡكُلُو نَ
٧٣you will eat
For you therein is much fruit1 from which you will eat.
43:74
إِنّ َ
Indeed
the criminals
فِى
(will be) in
عَذَابِ
(the) punishment
جَهَنّ َمَ
(of) Hell
خَـٰ لِدُو نَ
٧٤abiding forever
Indeed, the criminals will be in the punishment of Hell, abiding eternally.
43:75
لَا
Not
يُفَتَّرُ
will it subside
عَنۡهُمۡ
for them
وَهُمۡ
and they
فِيهِ
in it
مُبۡ لِسُو نَ
٧٥(will) despair
It will not be allowed to subside for them, and they, therein, are in despair.
43:76
وَمَا
And not
ظَلَمۡنَـٰ هُمۡ
We wronged them
وَلَـٰ كِن
but
they were
هُمُ
themselves
wrongdoers
And We did not wrong them, but it was they who were the wrongdoers.
43:77
وَنَادَوۡاۡ
And they will call
يَـٰ مَـٰ لِكُ
O Malik
لِيَقۡ ضِ
Let put an end
عَلَيۡنَا
to us
رَبُّكَۖ
your Lord
قَالَ
He (will) say
إِنّ َكُم
Indeed, you
(will) remain
And they will call, "O Mālik,1 let your Lord put an end to us!" He will say, "Indeed, you will remain."
43:78
لَقَدۡ
Certainly
جِئۡنَـٰ كُم
We have brought you
the truth
وَلَـٰ كِنّ َ
but
أَكۡثَرَكُمۡ
most of you
لِلۡحَقِّ
to the truth
كَـٰ رِهُو نَ
٧٨(are) averse
We had certainly brought you the truth, but most of you, to the truth, were averse.
43:79
أَمۡ
Or
أَبۡ رَمُوٓ اۡ
have they determined
أَمۡرًا
an affair
Then indeed, We
مُبۡ رِمُو نَ
٧٩(are) determined
Or have they devised [some] affair?1 But indeed, We are devising [a plan].
43:80
أَمۡ
Or
يَحۡسَبُونَ
(do) they think
أَنّ َا
that We
لَا
(can) not
نَسۡمَعُ
hear
سِرَّهُمۡ
their secret(s)
وَنَجۡ وَٮٰ هُمۚ
and their private counsel(s)
Nay
وَرُسُلُنَا
and Our Messengers
لَدَيۡهِمۡ
with them
يَكۡتُبُو نَ
٨٠are recording
Or do they think that We hear not their secrets and their private conversations? Yes, [We do], and Our messengers [i.e., angels] are with them recording.
43:81
قُلۡ
Say
إِن
If
had
لِلرَّحۡمَـٰ نِ
the Most Gracious
وَلَدٌ
a son
Then, I
أَوَّلُ
(would be the) first
(of) the worshippers
Say, [O Muḥammad], "If the Most Merciful had a son, then I would be the first of [his] worshippers."1
43:82
سُبۡ حَـٰ نَ
Glory be
رَبِّ
(to the) Lord
(of) the heavens
وَٱ لۡأَرۡضِ
and the earth
رَبِّ
(the) Lord
(of) the Throne
عَمّ َا
above what
يَصِفُو نَ
٨٢they ascribe
Exalted is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe.
43:83
فَذَرۡهُمۡ
So leave them
يَخُوضُواۡ
(to) converse vainly
وَيَلۡعَبُواۡ
and play
حَتَّىٰ
until
يُلَـٰ قُواۡ
they meet
يَوۡمَهُمُ
their Day
which
يُوعَدُو نَ
٨٣they are promised
So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised.
43:84
وَهُوَ
And He
(is) the One Who
فِى
(is) in
the heaven
إِلَـٰ هٌ
God
and in
the earth
إِلَـٰ هٌۚ
God
And He
(is) the All-Wise
the All-Knower
And it is He [i.e., Allāh] who is [the only] deity in the heaven, and on the earth [the only] deity. And He is the Wise, the Knowing.
43:85
وَتَبَارَكَ
And blessed (is)
the One Who
لَهُۥ
to Whom
مُلۡكُ
(belongs the) dominion
(of) the heavens
وَٱ لۡأَرۡضِ
and the earth
وَمَا
and whatever
بَيۡنَهُمَا
(is) between both of them
وَعِند َهُۥ
and with Him
عِلۡمُ
(is the) knowledge
(of) the Hour
وَإِلَيۡهِ
and to Him
تُرۡجَعُو نَ
٨٥you will be returned
And blessed is He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them and with whom is knowledge of the Hour and to whom you will be returned.
43:86
وَلَا
And not
يَمۡلِكُ
have power
those whom
يَدۡ عُونَ
they invoke
مِن
besides Him
besides Him
(for) the intercession
إِلَّا
except
مَن
who
testifies
بِٱ لۡحَقِّ
to the truth
وَهُمۡ
and they
يَعۡلَمُو نَ
٨٦know
And those they invoke1 besides Him do not possess [power of] intercession; but only those who testify to the truth [can benefit], and they know.2
43:87
وَلَئِن
And if
you ask them
who
خَلَقَهُمۡ
created them
لَيَقُولُنّ َ
they will certainly say
Allah
فَأَنّ َىٰ
Then how
يُؤۡفَكُو نَ
٨٧are they deluded
And if you asked them1 who created them, they would surely say, "Allāh." So how are they deluded?
43:88
وَقِيلِهِۦ
And his saying
يَـٰ رَبِّ
O my Lord
إِنّ َ
Indeed
هَـٰٓ ؤُلَا ٓءِ
these
قَوۡمٌ
(are) a people
(who do) not
يُؤۡمِنُو نَ
٨٨believe
And [Allāh acknowledges] his saying,1 "O my Lord, indeed these are a people who do not believe."
43:89
فَٱ صۡفَحۡ
So turn away
عَنۡهُمۡ
from them
وَقُلۡ
and say
سَلَـٰ مٌۚ
Peace
But soon
يَعۡلَمُو نَ
٨٩they will know
So turn aside from them and say, "Peace."1 But they are going to know.
