Back to Surahsٱ ل نّ َاسُي ُتۡرَكُوٓ اۡ ي َقُولُوٓ اۡ ٱ لَّذِينَق َبۡ لِهِمۡۖٱ للَّهُٱ لَّذِينَٱ لۡكَـٰ ذِبِي نَ٣ٱ لَّذِينَٱ ل سَّيِّـَٔـاتِي َسۡبِقُونَاۚك َانَٱ للَّهِٱ للَّهِو َهُوَٱ ل سَّمِيعُٱ لۡعَلِي مُ٥ج َـٰ هَدَٱ للَّهَٱ لۡعَـٰ لَمِي نَ٦ٱ ل صَّـٰ لِحَـٰ تِٱ لَّذِىٱ لۡإِنس َـٰ نَو َإِن ج َـٰ هَدَاكَف َلَاب ِمَاٱ ل صَّـٰ لِحَـٰ تِٱ ل صَّـٰ لِحِي نَ٩ٱ ل نّ َاسِي َقُولُٱ للَّهِٱ ل نّ َاسِٱ للَّهِج َا ٓءَم ِّن ر َّبِّكَٱ للَّهُٱ لۡعَـٰ لَمِي نَ١٠ٱ للَّهُٱ لَّذِينَٱ لۡمُنَـٰ فِقِي نَ١١ٱ لَّذِينَٱ تَّبِعُواۡ ب ِحَـٰ مِلِينَم ِّن ش َىۡءٍۖم َّعَٱ لۡقِيَـٰ مَةِف َأَخَذَهُمُٱ ل طُّوفَانُٱ ل سَّفِينَةِل ِّلۡعَـٰ لَمِي نَ١٥ٱ عۡبُدُواۡ ٱ للَّهَل َّكُمۡك ُنت ُمۡد ُونِٱ للَّهِو َتَخۡلُقُونَٱ لَّذِينَد ُونِٱ للَّهِف َٱ بۡ تَغُواۡ ٱ للَّهِٱ ل رِّزۡقَت ُكَذِّبُواۡ م ِّن ق َبۡ لِكُمۡۖٱ ل رَّسُولِٱ لۡبَلَـٰ غُٱ لۡمُبِي نُ١٨ٱ للَّهُٱ لۡخَلۡقَٱ للَّهِٱ لۡأَرۡضِٱ لۡخَلۡقَۚٱ للَّهُٱ ل نّ َشۡأَةَٱ لۡأَخِرَةَۚٱ للَّهَق َدِي رٌ٢٠ي َشَا ٓءُي َشَا ٓءُۖب ِمُعۡجِزِينَٱ لۡأَرۡضِٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِۖم ِّن د ُونِٱ للَّهِو َلِىٍّ و َلَاٱ للَّهِر َّحۡمَتِىق َالُواۡ ٱ قۡ تُلُوهُٱ للَّهُٱ ل نّ َارِۚل ِّقَوۡمٍ ي ُؤۡمِنُو نَ٢٤ٱ تَّخَذۡتُم م ِّن د ُونِٱ للَّهِم َّوَدَّةَٱ لۡحَيَو ٰ ةِٱ ل دُّنۡيَاۖٱ لۡقِيَـٰ مَةِب ِبَعۡضٍ و َيَلۡعَنُب َعۡضًا و َمَأۡوَٮٰ كُمُٱ ل نّ َارُم ِّن ن َّـٰ صِرِي نَ٢٥و َقَالَٱ لۡعَزِيزُٱ لۡحَكِي مُ٢٦ٱ ل نّ ُبُوَّةَٱ ل دُّنۡيَاۖٱ لۡأَخِرَةِٱ ل صَّـٰ لِحِي نَ٢٧ٱ لۡفَـٰ حِشَةَب ِهَام ِّنَٱ لۡعَـٰ لَمِي نَ٢٨ٱ ل رِّجَالَٱ ل سَّبِيلَٱ لۡمُنك َرَۖق َالُواۡ ٱ ئۡتِنَاٱ للَّهِك ُنت َٱ ل صَّـٰ دِقِي نَ٢٩ٱ نص ُرۡنِىٱ لۡقَوۡمِٱ لۡمُفۡسِدِي نَ٣٠ٱ لۡقَرۡيَةِۖق َالُواۡ ف ِيهَاۖٱ مۡرَأَتَهُۥ ٱ لۡغَـٰ بِرِي نَ٣٢ج َا ٓءَتۡس ِى ٓءَو َقَالُواۡ ٱ مۡرَأَتَكَٱ لۡغَـٰ بِرِي نَ٣٣ٱ لۡقَرۡيَةِم ِّنَٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِب َيِّنَةً ل ِّقَوۡمٍ ي َعۡقِلُو نَ٣٥ف َقَالَٱ عۡبُدُواۡ ٱ للَّهَٱ لۡيَوۡمَٱ لۡأَخِرَٱ لۡأَرۡضِٱ ل رَّجۡ فَةُو َثَمُودَاۡ م ِّن م َّسَـٰ كِنِهِمۡۖٱ ل شَّيۡطَـٰ نُٱ ل سَّبِيلِم ُّوسَىٰٱ لۡأَرۡضِم َّنۡو َمِنۡهُم م َّنۡٱ ل صَّيۡحَةُم َّنۡٱ لۡأَرۡضَم َّنۡٱ للَّهُك َانُوٓ اۡ ٱ لَّذِينَٱ تَّخَذُواۡ د ُونِٱ للَّهِٱ لۡعَنك َبُوتِٱ تَّخَذَتۡو َإِنّ َٱ لۡبُيُوتِٱ لۡعَنك َبُوتِۖٱ للَّهَد ُونِهِۦ ش َىۡءٍۚ و َهُوَٱ لۡعَزِيزُٱ لۡحَكِي مُ٤٢ٱ لۡأَمۡثَـٰ لُٱ لۡعَـٰ لِمُو نَ٤٣ٱ للَّهُٱ ل سَّمَـٰ وٰ ل ِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِي نَ٤٤ٱ لۡكِتَـٰ بِٱ ل صَّلَو ٰ ةَۖٱ ل صَّلَو ٰ ةَٱ لۡفَحۡشَا ٓءِٱ للَّهِٱ لۡكِتَـٰ بِٱ لَّذِينَو َنَحۡنُٱ لۡكِتَـٰ بَۚٱ لۡكِتَـٰ بَي ُؤۡمِنُٱ لۡكَـٰ فِرُو نَ٤٧ق َبۡ لِهِۦ ك ِتَـٰ بٍ و َلَال َّٱ رۡتَابَٱ لۡمُبۡ طِلُو نَ٤٨ب َيِّنَـٰ تٌ ف ِىٱ لَّذِينَٱ لۡعِلۡمَۚٱ ل ظَّـٰ لِمُو نَ٤٩م ِّن ر َّبِّهِۦ ۖٱ لۡأَيَـٰ تُٱ للَّهِم ُّبِي نٌ٥٠ٱ لۡكِتَـٰ بَو َذِكۡرَىٰي ُؤۡمِنُو نَ٥١ي َعۡلَمُٱ ل سَّمَـٰ وٰ ٱ لۡخَـٰ سِرُو نَ٥٢م ُّسَمًّى ل َّجَا ٓءَهُمُٱ لۡعَذَابُب َغۡتَةً و َهُمۡب ِٱ لۡكَـٰ فِرِي نَ٥٤ٱ لۡعَذَابُف َوۡقِهِمۡت َحۡتِٱ لَّذِينَف َإِيَّـٰ ىَذ َا ٓئِقَةُٱ لۡمَوۡتِۖٱ ل صَّـٰ لِحَـٰ تِم ِّنَٱ لۡجَنّ َةِت َجۡ رِىت َحۡتِهَاٱ لۡأَنۡهَـٰ رُٱ لۡعَـٰ مِلِي نَ٥٨م ِّن د َا ٓبَّةٍ ل َّاٱ للَّهُٱ ل سَّمِيعُٱ لۡعَلِي مُ٦٠س َأَلۡتَهُم م َّنۡٱ ل سَّمَـٰ وٰ ٱ ل شَّمۡسَٱ للَّهُۖٱ ل رِّزۡقَي َشَا ٓءُٱ للَّهَس َأَلۡتَهُم م َّن ن َّزَّلَٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِف َأَحۡيَاٱ لۡأَرۡضَب َعۡدِٱ للَّهُۚٱ لۡحَمۡدُٱ لۡحَيَو ٰ ةُٱ ل دُّنۡيَآ و َلَعِبٌۚ و َإِنّ َٱ ل دَّارَٱ لۡأَخِرَةَٱ لۡحَيَوَانُۚٱ لۡفُلۡكِٱ للَّهَٱ ل دِّينَٱ لۡبَرِّو َيُتَخَطَّفُٱ ل نّ َاسُٱ للَّهِٱ فۡتَرَىٰٱ للَّهِل ِّلۡكَـٰ فِرِي نَ٦٨ٱ للَّهَٱ لۡمُحۡسِنِي نَ٦٩
العنكبوت
Al-'Ankabut
The Spider69 Verses1 Hadithsmakkah
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
✦
29:1
الٓ مٓ
١Alif Laam Meem
Alif, Lām, Meem.1
29:2
أَحَسِبَ
Do think
the people
أَن
that
they will be left
أَن
because
they say
ءَامَنّ َا
We believe
وَهُمۡ
and they
لَا
will not be tested
يُفۡتَنُو نَ
٢will not be tested
Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried?
29:3
وَلَقَدۡ
And indeed
فَتَنّ َا
We tested
those who
مِن
(were) before them
(were) before them
فَلَيَعۡلَمَنّ َ
And Allah will surely make evident
And Allah will surely make evident
those who
صَدَقُواۡ
(are) truthful
وَلَيَعۡلَمَنّ َ
and He will surely make evident
the liars
But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allāh will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars.
29:4
أَمۡ
Or
حَسِبَ
think
those who
يَعۡمَلُونَ
do
evil deeds
أَن
that
they can outrun Us
سَا ٓءَ
Evil is
مَا
what
يَحۡكُمُو نَ
٤they judge
Or do those who do evil deeds think they can outrun [i.e., escape] Us? Evil is what they judge.
29:5
مَن
Whoever
[is]
يَرۡجُواۡ
hopes
لِقَا ٓءَ
(for the) meeting
(with) Allah
فَإِنّ َ
then indeed
أَجَلَ
(the) Term
(of) Allah
لَأَتٍۚ
(is) surely coming
And He
(is) the All-Hearer
the All-Knower
Whoever should hope for the meeting with Allāh - indeed, the term [decreed by] Allāh is coming. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
29:6
وَمَن
And whoever
strives
فَإِنّ َمَا
then only
يُجَـٰ هِدُ
he strives
لِنَفۡسِهِۦٓۚ
for himself
إِنّ َ
Indeed
Allah
لَغَنِىٌّ
(is) Free from need
عَنِ
of
the worlds
And whoever strives only strives for [the benefit of] himself. Indeed, Allāh is Free from need of the worlds.
29:7
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
And those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
وَعَمِلُواۡ
and do
righteous (deeds)
لَنُكَفِّرَنّ َ
surely, We will remove
عَنۡهُمۡ
from them
سَيِّـَٔـاتِهِمۡ
their evil deeds
وَلَنَجۡ زِيَنّ َهُمۡ
and We will surely reward them
أَحۡسَنَ
(the) best
(of) what
كَانُواۡ
they used
يَعۡمَلُو نَ
٧(to) do
And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surely remove from them their misdeeds and will surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do.
29:8
وَوَصَّيۡنَا
And We have enjoined
(on) man
بِوٰ
goodness to his parents
حُسۡنًاۖ
goodness to his parents
but if
they both strive against you
لِتُشۡرِكَ
to make you associate
بِى
with Me
مَا
what
لَيۡسَ
not
لَكَ
you have
بِهِۦ
of it
عِلۡمٌ
any knowledge
then (do) not
تُطِعۡهُمَآۚ
obey both of them
إِلَىَّ
To Me
مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ
(is) your return
فَأُنَبِّئُكُم
and I will inform you
about what
كُنت ُمۡ
you used
تَعۡمَلُو نَ
٨(to) do
And We have enjoined upon man goodness to parents. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge,1 do not obey them. To Me is your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.
29:9
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
And those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
وَعَمِلُواۡ
and do
righteous deeds
لَنُدۡ خِلَنّ َهُمۡ
We will surely admit them
فِى
among
the righteous
And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surely admit them among the righteous [into Paradise].
29:10
وَمِنَ
And of
the people
مَن
(is he) who
says
ءَامَنّ َا
We believe
بِٱ للَّهِ
in Allah
فَإِذَآ
But when
أُوذِىَ
he is harmed
فِى
in
(the Way of) Allah
جَعَلَ
he considers
فِتۡنَةَ
(the) trial
(of) the people
كَعَذَابِ
as (the) punishment
(of) Allah
وَلَئِن
But if
comes
نَصۡرٌ
victory
from
your Lord
لَيَقُولُنّ َ
surely they say
إِنّ َا
Indeed, we
كُنّ َا
were
مَعَكُمۡۚ
with you
أَوَلَيۡسَ
Is not
Allah
بِأَعۡلَمَ
most knowing
بِمَا
of what
فِى
(is) in
صُدُورِ
(the) breasts
(of) the worlds
And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allāh," but when one [of them] is harmed for [the cause of] Allāh, he considers the trial [i.e., harm] of the people as [if it were] the punishment of Allāh. But if victory comes from your Lord, they say, "Indeed, We were with you." Is not Allāh most knowing of what is within the breasts of the worlds [i.e., all creatures]?
29:11
وَلَيَعۡلَمَنّ َ
And Allah will surely make evident
And Allah will surely make evident
those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
وَلَيَعۡلَمَنّ َ
And He will surely make evident
the hypocrites
And Allāh will surely make evident those who believe, and He will surely make evident the hypocrites.
29:12
وَقَالَ
And said
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
لِلَّذِينَ
to those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
Follow
سَبِيلَنَا
our way
وَلۡنَحۡمِلۡ
and we will carry
خَطَـٰ يَـٰ كُمۡ
your sins
وَمَا
But not
هُم
they
(are) going to carry
مِنۡ
of
خَطَـٰ يَـٰ هُم
their sins
any
thing
إِنّ َهُمۡ
Indeed, they
لَكَـٰ ذِبُو نَ
١٢(are) surely liars
And those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Follow our way, and we will carry your sins."1 But they will not carry anything of their sins. Indeed, they are liars.
29:13
وَلَيَحۡمِلُنّ َ
But surely they will carry
أَثۡقَالَهُمۡ
their burdens
وَأَثۡقَالاً
and burdens
with
أَثۡقَالِهِمۡۖ
their burdens
وَلَيُسۡــَٔلُنّ َ
and surely they will be questioned
يَوۡمَ
(on the) Day
(of) the Resurrection
عَمّ َا
about what
كَانُواۡ
they used
يَفۡتَرُو نَ
١٣(to) invent
But they will surely carry their [own] burdens and [other] burdens along with their burdens,1 and they will surely be questioned on the Day of Resurrection about what they used to invent.
29:14
وَلَقَدۡ
And verily
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
نُوحًا
Nuh
إِلَىٰ
to
قَوۡمِهِۦ
his people
فَلَبِثَ
and he remained
فِيهِمۡ
among them
أَلۡفَ
a thousand
سَنَةٍ
year(s)
إِلَّا
save
خَمۡسِينَ
fifty
عَامًا
year(s)
then seized them
the flood
وَهُمۡ
while they
ظَـٰ لِمُو نَ
١٤(were) wrongdoers
And We certainly sent Noah to his people, and he remained among them a thousand years minus fifty years, and the flood seized them while they were wrongdoers.
29:15
فَأَنج َيۡنَـٰ هُ
But We saved him
وَأَصۡحَـٰ بَ
and (the) people
(of) the ship
وَجَعَلۡنَـٰ هَآ
and We made it
ءَايَةً
a Sign
for the worlds
But We saved him and the companions of the ship, and We made it1 a sign for the worlds.
29:16
وَإِبۡ رٰ
And Ibrahim
إِذۡ
when
قَالَ
he said
لِقَوۡمِهِ
to his people
Worship
Allah
وَٱ تَّقُوهُۖ
and fear Him
ذٰ
That
خَيۡرٌ
(is) better
for you
إِن
if
you
تَعۡلَمُو نَ
١٦know
And [We sent] Abraham, when he said to his people, "Worship Allāh and fear Him. That is best for you, if you should know.
29:17
إِنّ َمَا
Only
تَعۡبُدُونَ
you worship
مِن
besides
besides
Allah
أَوۡثَـٰ نًا
idols
and you create
إِفۡكًاۚ
falsehood
إِنّ َ
Indeed
those whom
تَعۡبُدُونَ
you worship
مِن
besides
besides
Allah
لَا
(do) not
يَمۡلِكُونَ
possess
لَكُمۡ
for you
رِزۡقًا
any provision
So seek
عِند َ
from
Allah
the provision
وَٱ عۡبُدُوهُ
and worship Him
وَٱ شۡكُرُواۡ
and be grateful
لَهُۥٓۖ
to Him
إِلَيۡهِ
To Him
تُرۡجَعُو نَ
١٧you will be returned
You only worship, besides Allāh, idols, and you produce a falsehood. Indeed, those you worship besides Allāh do not possess for you [the power of] provision. So seek from Allāh provision and worship Him and be grateful to Him. To Him you will be returned."
29:18
وَإِن
And if
you deny
فَقَدۡ
then verily
كَذَّبَ
denied
أُمَمٌ
(the) nations
before you
before you
وَمَا
And not
عَلَى
(is) on
the Messenger
إِلَّا
except
the conveyance
clear
And if you [people] deny [the message] - already nations before you have denied. And there is not upon the Messenger except [the duty of] clear notification.1
29:19
أَوَلَمۡ
Do not
يَرَوۡاۡ
they see
كَيۡفَ
how
يُبۡ دِئُ
Allah originates
Allah originates
the creation
ثُمّ َ
then
يُعِيدُهُۥٓۚ
repeats it
إِنّ َ
Indeed
ذٰ
that
عَلَى
for
Allah
يَسِي رٌ
١٩(is) easy
Have they not considered how Allāh begins creation and then repeats it? Indeed that, for Allāh, is easy.
29:20
قُلۡ
Say
سِيرُواۡ
Travel
فِى
in
the earth
فَٱ نظ ُرُواۡ
and see
كَيۡفَ
how
بَدَأَ
He originated
the creation
ثُمّ َ
Then
Allah
يُنش ِئُ
will produce
the creation
the last
إِنّ َ
Indeed
Allah
عَلَىٰ
on
كُلِّ
every
شَىۡءٍ
thing
(is) All-Powerful
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Travel through the land and observe how He began creation. Then Allāh will produce the final creation [i.e., development]. Indeed Allāh, over all things, is competent."
29:21
يُعَذِّبُ
He punishes
مَن
whom
He wills
وَيَرۡحَمُ
and has mercy
مَن
(on) whom
He wills
وَإِلَيۡهِ
and to Him
تُقۡ لَبُو نَ
٢١you will be returned
He punishes whom He wills and has mercy upon whom He wills, and to Him you will be returned.
29:22
وَمَآ
And not
أَنت ُم
you
can escape
فِى
in
the earth
وَلَا
and not
فِى
in
the heaven
وَمَا
And not
لَكُم
for you
besides
besides
Allah
مِن
any
protector
and not
نَصِي رٍ
٢٢a helper
And you will not cause failure [to Allāh] upon the earth or in the heaven. And you have not other than Allāh any protector or any helper.
29:23
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
And those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
بِـَٔـايَـٰ تِ
in (the) Signs
(of) Allah
وَلِقَا ٓئِهِۦٓ
and (the) meeting (with) Him
أُوۡ لَـٰٓ ئِكَ
those
يَئِسُواۡ
(have) despaired
مِن
of
My Mercy
وَأُوۡ لَـٰٓ ئِكَ
And those
لَهُمۡ
for them
عَذَابٌ
(is) a punishment
أَلِي مٌ
٢٣painful
And the ones who disbelieve in the signs of Allāh and the meeting with Him - those have despaired of My mercy, and they will have a painful punishment.
29:24
فَمَا
And not
كَانَ
was
جَوَابَ
(the) answer
قَوۡمِهِۦٓ
(of) his people
إِلَّآ
except
أَن
that
they said
Kill him
أَوۡ
or
حَرِّقُوهُ
burn him
فَأَنج َـٰ هُ
But Allah saved him
But Allah saved him
مِنَ
from
the fire
إِنّ َ
Indeed
فِى
in
ذٰ
that
لَأَيَـٰ تٍ
surely (are) Signs
for a people
who believe
And the answer of his [i.e., Abraham's] people was not but that they said, "Kill him or burn him," but Allāh saved him from the fire. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.
29:25
وَقَالَ
And he said
إِنّ َمَا
Only
you have taken
besides
besides
Allah
أَوۡثَـٰ نًا
idols
(out of) love
بَيۡنِكُمۡ
among you
فِى
in
the life
(of) the world
ثُمّ َ
Then
يَوۡمَ
(on the) Day
(of) the Resurrection
يَكۡفُرُ
you will deny
بَعۡضُكُم
one another
one another
and curse
بَعۡضُكُم
one another
one another
and your abode
(will be) the Fire
وَمَا
and not
لَكُم
for you
any
helpers
And [Abraham] said, "You have only taken, other than Allāh, idols as [a bond of] affection among you in worldly life. Then on the Day of Resurrection you will deny one another and curse one another, and your refuge will be the Fire, and you will not have any helpers."
29:26
۞فَـَٔـامَنَ
And believed
لَهُۥ
[in] him
لُوطٌۘ
Lut
and he said
إِنّ ِى
Indeed I (am)
مُهَاجِرٌ
emigrating
إِلَىٰ
to
رَبِّىٓۖ
my Lord
إِنّ َهُۥ
Indeed, He
هُوَ
[He] (is)
the All-Mighty
the All-Wise
And Lot believed him. [Abraham] said, "Indeed, I will emigrate to [the service of] my Lord. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise."
29:27
وَوَهَبۡ نَا
And We granted
لَهُۥٓ
to him
إِسۡحَـٰ قَ
Isaac
وَيَعۡقُوبَ
and Yaqub
وَجَعَلۡنَا
and We placed
فِى
in
ذُرِّيَّتِهِ
his offsprings
the Prophethood
وَٱ لۡكِتَـٰ بَ
and the Book
وَءَاتَيۡنَـٰ هُ
And We gave him
أَجۡ رَهُۥ
his reward
فِى
in
the world
وَإِنّ َهُۥ
And indeed, he
فِى
in
the Hereafter
لَمِنَ
(is) surely, among
the righteous
And We gave to him Isaac and Jacob and placed in his descendants prophethood and scripture. And We gave him his reward in this world, and indeed, he is in the Hereafter among the righteous.
29:28
وَلُوطًا
And Lut
إِذۡ
when
قَالَ
he said
لِقَوۡمِهِۦٓ
to his people
إِنّ َكُمۡ
Indeed, you
لَتَأۡتُونَ
commit
the immorality
مَا
not
سَبَقَكُم
has preceded you
with it
مِنۡ
any
أَحَدٍ
one
from
the worlds
And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Indeed, you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds.
29:29
أَئِنّ َكُمۡ
Indeed, you
لَتَأۡتُونَ
approach
the men
وَتَقۡ طَعُونَ
and you cut off
the road
وَتَأۡتُونَ
and commit
فِى
in
نَادِيكُمُ
your meetings
evil
فَمَا
And not
كَانَ
was
جَوَابَ
(the) answer
قَوۡمِهِۦٓ
(of) his people
إِلَّآ
except
أَن
that
they said
Bring upon us
بِعَذَابِ
(the) punishment
(of) Allah
إِن
if
you are
مِنَ
of
the truthful
Indeed, you approach men and obstruct the road1 and commit in your meetings [every] evil." And the answer of his people was not but that they said, "Bring us the punishment of Allāh, if you should be of the truthful."
29:30
قَالَ
He said
رَبِّ
My Lord
Help me
عَلَى
against
the people
the corrupters
He said, "My Lord, support me against the corrupting people."
29:31
وَلَمّ َا
And when
جَا ٓءَتۡ
came
رُسُلُنَآ
Our messengers
إِبۡ رٰ
(to) Ibrahim
بِٱ لۡبُشۡرَىٰ
with the glad tidings
قَالُوٓ اۡ
they said
إِنّ َا
Indeed, we
مُهۡلِكُوٓ اۡ
(are) going to destroy
أَهۡلِ
(the) people
هَـٰ ذِهِ
(of) this
town
إِنّ َ
Indeed
أَهۡلَهَا
its people
كَانُواۡ
are
ظَـٰ لِمِي نَ
٣١wrongdoers
And when Our messengers [i.e., angels] came to Abraham with the good tidings,1 they said, "Indeed, we will destroy the people of that [i.e., Lot's] city. Indeed, its people have been wrongdoers."
29:32
قَالَ
He said
إِنّ َ
Indeed
فِيهَا
in it
لُوطًاۚ
(is) Lut
They said
نَحۡنُ
We
أَعۡلَمُ
know better
بِمَن
who
(is) in it
لَنُنَجِّيَنّ َهُۥ
We will surely save him
وَأَهۡلَهُۥٓ
and his family
إِلَّا
except
his wife
كَانَتۡ
She
مِنَ
(is) of
those who remain behind
[Abraham] said, "Indeed, within it is Lot." They said, "We are more knowing of who is within it. We will surely save him and his family, except his wife. She is to be of those who remain behind."
29:33
وَلَمّ َآ
And when
أَن
[that]
came
رُسُلُنَا
Our messengers
لُوطًا
(to) Lut
he was distressed
بِهِمۡ
for them
وَضَاقَ
and felt straitened
بِهِمۡ
for them
ذَرۡعًا
(and) uneasy
And they said
لَا
(Do) not
تَخَفۡ
fear
وَلَا
and (do) not
تَحۡزَنۡۖ
grieve
إِنّ َا
Indeed, we
مُنَجُّوكَ
(will) save you
وَأَهۡلَكَ
and your family
إِلَّا
except
your wife
كَانَتۡ
She
مِنَ
(is) of
those who remain behind
And when Our messengers [i.e., angels] came to Lot, he was distressed for them and felt for them great discomfort.1 They said, "Fear not, nor grieve. Indeed, we will save you and your family, except your wife; she is to be of those who remain behind.
29:34
إِنّ َا
Indeed, we
مُنز ِلُونَ
(will) bring down
عَلَىٰٓ
on
أَهۡلِ
(the) people
هَـٰ ذِهِ
(of) this
town
رِجۡ زًا
a punishment
from
(the) sky
بِمَا
because
كَانُواۡ
they have been
يَفۡسُقُو نَ
٣٤defiantly disobedient
Indeed, we will bring down on the people of this city punishment from the sky because they have been defiantly disobedient."
29:35
وَلَقَد
And verily
تَّرَكۡنَا
We have left
مِنۡهَآ
about it
ءَايَةَۢ
a sign
(as) evidence
for a people
who use reason
And We have certainly left of it a sign as clear evidence for a people who use reason.
29:36
وَإِلَىٰ
And to
مَدۡ يَنَ
Madyan
أَخَاهُمۡ
their brother
شُعَيۡبًا
Shuaib
And he said
يَـٰ قَوۡمِ
O my people
Worship
Allah
وَٱ رۡجُواۡ
and expect
the Day
the Last
وَلَا
and (do) not
تَعۡثَوۡاۡ
commit evil
فِى
in
the earth
مُفۡسِدِي نَ
٣٦(as) corrupters
And to Madyan [We sent] their brother Shuʿayb, and he said, "O my people, worship Allāh and expect the Last Day and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption."
29:37
فَكَذَّبُوهُ
But they denied him
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ
so seized them
the earthquake
فَأَصۡبَحُواۡ
and they became
فِى
in
دَارِهِمۡ
their home
جَـٰ ثِمِي نَ
٣٧fallen prone
But they denied him, so the earthquake seized them, and they became within their home [corpses] fallen prone.
29:38
وَعَادًا
And Aad
and Thamud
وَقَد
and verily
تَّبَيَّنَ
(has) become clear
لَكُم
to you
from
their dwellings
وَزَيَّنَ
And made fair-seeming
لَهُمُ
to them
the Shaitaan
أَعۡمَـٰ لَهُمۡ
their deeds
فَصَدَّهُمۡ
and averted them
عَنِ
from
the Way
وَكَانُواۡ
though they were
مُسۡتَبۡ صِرِي نَ
٣٨endowed with insight
And [We destroyed] ʿAad and Thamūd, and it has become clear to you from their [ruined] dwellings. And Satan had made pleasing to them their deeds and averted them from the path, and they were endowed with perception.
29:39
وَقَـٰ رُونَ
And Qarun
وَفِرۡعَوۡنَ
and Firaun
وَهَـٰ مَـٰ نَۖ
and Haman
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
جَا ٓءَهُم
came to them
Musa
بِٱ لۡبَيِّنَـٰ تِ
with clear evidences
فَٱ سۡتَكۡبَرُواۡ
but they were arrogant
فِى
in
the earth
وَمَا
and not
كَانُواۡ
they could
سَـٰ بِقِي نَ
٣٩outstrip Us
And [We destroyed] Qārūn and Pharaoh and Hāmān. And Moses had already come to them with clear evidences, and they were arrogant in the land, but they were not outrunners [of Our punishment].
29:40
فَكُلاًّ
So each
أَخَذۡنَا
We seized
بِذَنۢب ِهِۦ ۖ
for his sin
فَمِنۡهُم
Then of them
(was he) who
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
عَلَيۡهِ
on him
حَاصِبًا
a violent storm
and of them
(was he) who
أَخَذَتۡهُ
seized him
the awful cry
وَمِنۡهُم
and of them
(was he) who
خَسَفۡنَا
We caused to swallow
بِهِ
him
the earth
وَمِنۡهُم
and of them
(was he) who
أَغۡرَقۡ نَاۚ
We drowned
وَمَا
And not
كَانَ
was
Allah
لِيَظۡلِمَهُمۡ
to wrong them
وَلَـٰ كِن
but
they were
أَنف ُسَهُمۡ
themselves
يَظۡلِمُو نَ
٤٠doing wrong
So each We seized for his sin; and among them were those upon whom We sent a storm of stones, and among them were those who were seized by the blast [from the sky], and among them were those whom We caused the earth to swallow, and among them were those whom We drowned. And Allāh would not have wronged them, but it was they who were wronging themselves.
29:41
مَثَلُ
(The) example
(of) those who
take
مِن
besides
besides
Allah
أَوۡلِيَا ٓءَ
protectors
كَمَثَلِ
(is) like
the spider
who takes
بَيۡتًاۖ
a house
And indeed
أَوۡهَنَ
the weakest
(of) houses
لَبَيۡتُ
(is) surely (the) house
(of) the spider
لَوۡ
if (only)
كَانُواۡ
they
يَعۡلَمُو نَ
٤١know
The example of those who take allies other than Allāh is like that of the spider who takes [i.e., constructs] a home. And indeed, the weakest of homes is the home of the spider, if they only knew.
29:42
إِنّ َ
Indeed
Allah
يَعۡلَمُ
knows
مَا
what
يَدۡ عُونَ
they invoke
مِن
besides Him
besides Him
مِن
any
thing
And He
(is) the All-Mighty
the All-Wise
Indeed, Allāh knows whatever thing they call upon1 other than Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
29:43
وَتِلۡكَ
And these
examples
نَضۡرِبُهَا
We set forth
لِلنّ َاسِۖ
to mankind
وَمَا
but not
يَعۡقِلُهَآ
will understand them
إِلَّا
except
those of knowledge
And these examples We present to the people, but none will understand them except those of knowledge.
29:44
خَلَقَ
Allah created
Allah created
the heavens
وَٱ لۡأَرۡضَ
and the earth
بِٱ لۡحَقِّۚ
in truth
إِنّ َ
Indeed
فِى
in
ذٰ
that
لَأَيَةً
(is) surely a Sign
for the believers
Allāh created the heavens and the earth in truth. Indeed in that is a sign for the believers.
29:45
ٱتۡلُ
Recite
مَآ
what
أُوحِىَ
has been revealed
إِلَيۡكَ
to you
مِنَ
of
the Book
وَأَقِمِ
and establish
the prayer
إِنّ َ
Indeed
the prayer
تَنۡهَىٰ
prevents
عَنِ
from
the immorality
وَٱ لۡمُنك َرِۗ
and evil deeds
وَلَذِكۡرُ
and surely (the) remembrance
(of) Allah
أَكۡبَرُۗ
(is) greatest
وَٱ للَّهُ
And Allah
يَعۡلَمُ
knows
مَا
what
تَصۡنَعُو نَ
٤٥you do
Recite, [O Muḥammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allāh is greater. And Allāh knows that which you do.
29:46
۞وَلَا
And (do) not
تُجَـٰ دِلُوٓ اۡ
argue
أَهۡلَ
(with the) People of the Book
(with the) People of the Book
إِلَّا
except
بِٱ لَّتِى
by which
هِىَ
[it]
أَحۡسَنُ
(is) best
إِلَّا
except
those who
ظَلَمُواۡ
(do) wrong
مِنۡهُمۡۖ
among them
وَقُولُوٓ اۡ
and say
ءَامَنّ َا
We believe
بِٱ لَّذِىٓ
in that (which)
أُنز ِلَ
has been revealed
إِلَيۡنَا
to us
وَأُنز ِلَ
and was revealed
إِلَيۡكُمۡ
to you
وَإِلَـٰ هُنَا
And our God
وَإِلَـٰ هُكُمۡ
and your God
وٰ دٌ
(is) One
and we
لَهُۥ
to Him
مُسۡلِمُو نَ
٤٦submit
And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."
29:47
وَكَذٰ
And thus
أَنز َلۡنَآ
We (have) revealed
إِلَيۡكَ
to you
the Book
فَٱ لَّذِينَ
So those
ءَاتَيۡنَـٰ هُمُ
We gave [them]
the Book
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
believe
بِهِۦ ۖ
therein
وَمِنۡ
And among
هَـٰٓ ؤُلَا ٓءِ
these
مَن
(are some) who
believe
بِهِۦ ۚ
therein
وَمَا
And none
يَجۡ حَدُ
reject
بِـَٔـايَـٰ تِنَآ
Our Verses
إِلَّا
except
the disbelievers
And thus We have sent down to you the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān]. And those to whom We [previously] gave the Scripture believe in it. And among these [people of Makkah] are those who believe in it. And none reject Our verses except the disbelievers.
29:48
وَمَا
And not
كُنت َ
(did) you
تَتۡلُواۡ
recite
مِن
before it
before it
مِن
any
Book
and not
تَخُطُّهُۥ
(did) you write it
بِيَمِينِكَۖ
with your right hand
إِذًا
in that case
surely (would) have doubted
the falsifiers
And you did not recite before it any scripture, nor did you inscribe one with your right hand. Then [i.e., otherwise] the falsifiers would have had [cause for] doubt.
29:49
بَلۡ
Nay
هُوَ
it
ءَايَـٰ تُۢ
(is) Verses
clear
in
صُدُورِ
(the) breasts
(of) those who
أُوتُواۡ
are given
the knowledge
وَمَا
And not
يَجۡ حَدُ
reject
بِـَٔـايَـٰ تِنَآ
Our Verses
إِلَّا
except
the wrongdoers
Rather, it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is distinct verses [preserved] within the breasts of those who have been given knowledge. And none reject Our verses except the wrongdoers.
29:50
وَقَالُواۡ
And they say
لَوۡلَآ
Why not
أُنز ِلَ
are sent down
عَلَيۡهِ
to him
ءَايَـٰ تٌ
(the) Signs
from
his Lord
قُلۡ
Say
إِنّ َمَا
Only
the Signs
عِند َ
(are) with
Allah
وَإِنّ َمَآ
and only
أَنَاۡ
I (am)
نَذِيرٌ
a warner
clear
But they say, "Why are not signs sent down to him from his Lord?" Say, "The signs are only with Allāh, and I am only a clear warner."
29:51
أَوَلَمۡ
And is (it) not
يَكۡفِهِمۡ
sufficient for them
أَنّ َآ
that We
أَنز َلۡنَا
revealed
عَلَيۡكَ
to you
the Book
يُتۡلَىٰ
(which) is recited
عَلَيۡهِمۡۚ
to them
إِنّ َ
Indeed
فِى
in
ذٰ
that
لَرَحۡمَةً
surely is a mercy
and a reminder
لِقَوۡمٍ
for a people
who believe
And is it not sufficient for them that We revealed to you the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] which is recited to them? Indeed in that is a mercy and reminder for a people who believe.
29:52
قُلۡ
Say
كَفَىٰ
Sufficient is
بِٱ للَّهِ
Allah
بَيۡنِى
between me
وَبَيۡنَكُمۡ
and between you
شَهِيدًاۖ
(as) a Witness
He knows
مَا
what
فِى
(is) in
the heavens
وَٱ لۡأَرۡضِۗ
and the earth
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
And those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
بِٱ لۡبَـٰ طِلِ
in [the] falsehood
وَكَفَرُواۡ
and disbelieve
بِٱ للَّهِ
in Allah
أُوۡ لَـٰٓ ئِكَ
those
هُمُ
they
(are) the losers
Say, "Sufficient is Allāh between me and you as Witness. He knows what is in the heavens and earth. And they who have believed in falsehood and disbelieved in Allāh - it is those who are the losers."
29:53
وَيَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَكَ
And they ask you to hasten
بِٱ لۡعَذَابِۚ
[with] the punishment
وَلَوۡلَآ
And if not
أَجَلٌ
(for) a term
appointed
surely (would) have come to them
the punishment
وَلَيَأۡتِيَنّ َهُم
But it will surely come to them
suddenly
while they
لَا
(do) not
يَشۡعُرُو نَ
٥٣perceive
And they urge you to hasten the punishment. And if not for [the decree of] a specified term, punishment would have reached them. But it will surely come to them suddenly while they perceive not.
29:54
يَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَكَ
They ask you to hasten
بِٱ لۡعَذَابِ
the punishment
وَإِنّ َ
And indeed
جَهَنّ َمَ
Hell
لَمُحِيطَةُۢ
will surely, encompass
the disbelievers
They urge you to hasten the punishment. And indeed, Hell will be encompassing of the disbelievers
29:55
يَوۡمَ
On (the) Day
يَغۡشَـٰ هُمُ
will cover them
the punishment
مِن
from
above them
وَمِن
and from
below
أَرۡجُلِهِمۡ
their feet
وَيَقُولُ
and He will say
ذُوقُواۡ
Taste
مَا
what
كُنت ُمۡ
you used
تَعۡمَلُو نَ
٥٥(to) do
On the Day the punishment will cover them from above them and from below their feet and it is said, "Taste [the result of] what you used to do."
29:56
يَـٰ عِبَادِىَ
O My servants
who
ءَامَنُوٓ اۡ
believe
إِنّ َ
Indeed
أَرۡضِى
My earth
وٰ ةٌ
(is) spacious
so only
فَٱ عۡبُدُو نِ
٥٦worship Me
O My servants who have believed, indeed My earth is spacious, so worship only Me.
29:57
كُلُّ
Every
نَفۡسٍ
soul
(will) taste
the death
ثُمّ َ
Then
إِلَيۡنَا
to Us
تُرۡجَعُو نَ
٥٧you will be returned
Every soul will taste death. Then to Us will you be returned.
29:58
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
And those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
وَعَمِلُواۡ
and do
[the] righteous deeds
لَنُبَوِّئَنّ َهُم
surely We will give them a place
in
Paradise
غُرَفًا
lofty dwellings
flow
مِن
from
underneath it
the rivers
خَـٰ لِدِينَ
will abide forever
فِيهَاۚ
in it
نِعۡمَ
Excellent is
أَجۡ رُ
(the) reward
(of) the workers
And those who have believed and done righteous deeds - We will surely assign to them of Paradise [elevated] chambers beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. Excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers
29:59
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
صَبَرُواۡ
(are) patient
وَعَلَىٰ
and upon
رَبِّهِمۡ
their Lord
يَتَوَكَّلُو نَ
٥٩put their trust
Who have been patient and upon their Lord rely.
29:60
وَكَأَيِّن
And how many
of
a creature
(does) not
تَحۡمِلُ
carry
رِزۡقَهَا
its provision
Allah
يَرۡزُقُهَا
provides (for) it
وَإِيَّاكُمۡۚ
and (for) you
وَهُوَ
And He
(is) the All-Hearer
the All-Knower
And how many a creature carries not its [own] provision. Allāh provides for it and for you. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
29:61
وَلَئِن
And if
you ask them
Who
خَلَقَ
created
the heavens
وَٱ لۡأَرۡضَ
and the earth
وَسَخَّرَ
and subjected
the sun
وَٱ لۡقَمَرَ
and the moon
لَيَقُولُنّ َ
Surely they would say
Allah
فَأَنّ َىٰ
Then how
يُؤۡفَكُو نَ
٦١are they deluded
If you asked them, "Who created the heavens and earth and subjected the sun and the moon?" they would surely say, "Allāh." Then how are they deluded?
29:62
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
يَبۡ سُطُ
extends
the provision
لِمَن
for whom
He wills
مِنۡ
of
عِبَادِهِۦ
His slaves
وَيَقۡ دِرُ
and restricts
لَهُۥٓۚ
for him
إِنّ َ
Indeed
Allah
بِكُلِّ
of every
شَىۡءٍ
thing
عَلِي مٌ
٦٢(is) All-Knower
Allāh extends provision for whom He wills of His servants and restricts for him. Indeed Allāh is, of all things, Knowing.
29:63
وَلَئِن
And if
you ask them
Who
sends down
مِنَ
from
the sky
مَا ٓءً
water
and gives life
بِهِ
thereby
(to) the earth
مِنۢ
after
after
مَوۡتِهَا
its death
لَيَقُولُنّ َ
Surely, they would say
Allah
قُلِ
Say
All Praises
لِلَّهِۚ
(are) for Allah
بَلۡ
But
أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ
most of them
لَا
(do) not
يَعۡقِلُو نَ
٦٣use reason
And if you asked them, "Who sends down rain from the sky and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness?" they would surely say, "Allāh." Say, "Praise to Allāh"; but most of them do not reason.
29:64
وَمَا
And not
هَـٰ ذِهِ
(is) this
life
(of) the world
إِلَّا
but
لَهۡوٌ
amusement
and play
And indeed
the Home
(of) the Hereafter
لَهِىَ
surely, it
(is) the life
لَوۡ
if only
كَانُواۡ
they
يَعۡلَمُو نَ
٦٤know
And this worldly life is not but diversion and amusement. And indeed, the home of the Hereafter - that is the [eternal] life, if only they knew.
29:65
فَإِذَا
And when
رَكِبُواۡ
they embark
فِى
[in]
the ship
دَعَوُاۡ
they call
Allah
مُخۡلِصِينَ
(being) sincere
لَهُ
to Him
(in) the religion
فَلَمّ َا
But when
نَجَّـٰ هُمۡ
He delivers them
إِلَى
to
the land
إِذَا
behold
هُمۡ
they
يُشۡرِكُو نَ
٦٥associate partners (with Him)
And when they board a ship, they supplicate Allāh, sincere to Him in religion [i.e., faith and hope]. But when He delivers them to the land, at once they associate others with Him
29:66
لِيَكۡفُرُواۡ
So that they may deny
بِمَآ
[in] what
ءَاتَيۡنَـٰ هُمۡ
We have given them
وَلِيَتَمَتَّعُواۡۖ
and they may enjoy (themselves)
فَسَوۡفَ
But soon
يَعۡلَمُو نَ
٦٦they will know
So that they will deny what We have granted them, and they will enjoy themselves. But they are going to know.1
29:67
أَوَلَمۡ
Do not
يَرَوۡاۡ
they see
أَنّ َا
that We
جَعَلۡنَا
have made
حَرَمًا
a Sanctuary
ءَامِنًا
secure
while are being taken away
the people
مِنۡ
around them
حَوۡلِهِمۡۚ
around them
أَفَبِٱ لۡبَـٰ طِلِ
Then do in (the) falsehood
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
they believe
وَبِنِعۡمَةِ
and in (the) Favor
(of) Allah
يَكۡفُرُو نَ
٦٧they disbelieve
Have they not seen that We made [Makkah] a safe sanctuary, while people are being taken away1 all around them? Then in falsehood do they believe, and in the favor of Allāh they disbelieve?
29:68
وَمَنۡ
And who
أَظۡلَمُ
(is) more unjust
مِمّ َنِ
than (he) who
invents
عَلَى
against
Allah
كَذِبًا
a lie
أَوۡ
or
كَذَّبَ
denies
بِٱ لۡحَقِّ
the truth
لَمّ َا
when
جَا ٓءَهُۥٓۚ
it has come to him
أَلَيۡسَ
Is there not
فِى
in
جَهَنّ َمَ
Hell
مَثۡوًى
an abode
for the disbelievers
And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allāh or denies the truth when it has come to him? Is there not in Hell a [sufficient] residence for the disbelievers?
29:69
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
And those who
جَـٰ هَدُواۡ
strive
فِينَا
for Us
لَنَهۡدِيَنّ َهُمۡ
We will surely, guide them
سُبُلَنَاۚ
(to) Our ways
وَإِنّ َ
And indeed
Allah
لَمَعَ
surely (is) with
the good-doers
And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways.1 And indeed, Allāh is with the doers of good.
