٢٥٣He intends
Those messengers - some of them We caused to exceed others. Among them were those to whom Allāh spoke, and He raised some of them in degree. And We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear proofs, and We supported him with the Pure Spirit [i.e., Gabriel]. If Allāh had willed, those [generations] succeeding them would not have fought each other after the clear proofs had come to them. But they differed, and some of them believed and some of them disbelieved. And if Allāh had willed, they would not have fought each other, but Allāh does what He intends.

Allāh - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living,1 the Self-Sustaining.2 Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them,3 and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursī4 extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High,5 the Most Great.6

When Abraham said, "My Lord is the one who gives life and causes death," he said, "I give life and cause death." Abraham said, "Indeed, Allāh brings up the sun from the east, so bring it up from the west." So the disbeliever was overwhelmed [by astonishment], and Allāh does not guide the wrongdoing people.

So Allāh caused him to die for a hundred years; then He revived him. He said, "How long have you remained?" He [the man] said, "I have remained a day or part of a day." He said, "Rather, you have remained one hundred years. Look at your food and your drink; it has not changed with time. And look at your donkey; and We will make you a sign for the people. O you who have believed, when you contract a debt for a specified term, write it down. And let a scribe write [it] between you in justice. Let no scribe refuse to write as Allāh has taught him. So let him write and let the one who has the obligation [i.e., the debtor] dictate. And let him fear Allāh, his Lord, and not leave anything out of it. But if the one who has the obligation is of limited understanding or weak or unable to dictate himself, then let his guardian dictate in justice. And bring to witness two witnesses from among your men. And if there are not two men [available], then a man and two women from those whom you accept as witnesses - so that if one of them [i.e., the women] errs, then the other can remind her. And let not the witnesses refuse when they are called upon. And do not be [too] weary to write it, whether it is small or large, for its [specified] term. That is more just in the sight of Allāh and stronger as evidence and more likely to prevent doubt between you, except when it is an immediate transaction which you conduct among yourselves. For [then] there is no blame upon you if you do not write it. And take witnesses when you conclude a contract. Let no scribe be harmed or any witness. For if you do so, indeed, it is [grave] disobedience in you. And fear Allāh. And Allāh teaches you. And Allāh is Knowing of all things.

Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allāh is Islām. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. And whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allāh, then indeed, Allāh is swift in [taking] account.

And say to those who were given the Scripture and [to] the unlearned,1 "Have you submitted yourselves?" And if they submit [in Islām], they are rightly guided; but if they turn away - then upon you is only the [duty of] notification. And Allāh is Seeing of [His] servants.

the Hereafter
مِنَ
(will be) from
the losers
And whoever desires other than Islām as religion - never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.
3:86
كَيۡفَ
How
يَهۡدِى
(shall) guide
Allah
قَوۡمًا
a people
(who) disbelieved
بَعۡدَ
after
إِيمَـٰ نِهِمۡ
their belief
وَشَهِدُوٓ اۡ
and (had) witnessed
أَنّ َ
that
the Messenger
حَقٌّ
(is) true
and came to them
the clear proofs
وَٱ للَّهُ
And Allah
لَا
(does) not
يَهۡدِى
guide
the people
[the] wrongdoers
How shall Allāh guide a people who disbelieved after their belief and had witnessed that the Messenger is true and clear signs had come to them? And Allāh does not guide the wrongdoing people.
3:87
أُوۡ لَـٰٓ ئِكَ
Those
جَزَا ٓؤُهُمۡ
their recompense
أَنّ َ
that
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
on them
لَعۡنَةَ
(is the) curse
(of) Allah
وَٱ لۡمَلَـٰٓ ئِكَةِ
and the Angels
وَٱ ل نّ َاسِ
and the people
أَجۡ مَعِي نَ
٨٧all together
Those - their recompense will be that upon them is the curse of Allāh and the angels and the people, all together,
3:88
خَـٰ لِدِينَ
(They will) abide forever
فِيهَا
in it
لَا
Not
يُخَفَّفُ
will be lightened
عَنۡهُمُ
for them
the punishment
وَلَا
and not
هُمۡ
they
يُنظ َرُو نَ
٨٨will be reprieved
Abiding eternally therein. The punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved,
3:89
إِلَّا
Except
those who
تَابُواۡ
repent
مِنۢ
from
after
ذٰ لِكَ
that
وَأَصۡلَحُواۡ
and reform[ed] themselves
فَإِنّ َ
Then indeed
Allah
غَفُورٌ
(is) Oft-Forgiving
Most Merciful
Except for those who repent after that1 and correct themselves. For indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.
3:90
إِنّ َ
Indeed
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieved
بَعۡدَ
after
إِيمَـٰ نِهِمۡ
their belief
ثُمّ َ
then
they increased
كُفۡرًا
(in) disbelief
never
will be accepted
تَوۡبَتُهُمۡ
their repentance
وَأُوۡ لَـٰٓ ئِكَ
and those
هُمُ
they
(are) those who have gone astray
Indeed, those who disbelieve [i.e., reject the message] after their belief and then increase in disbelief - never will their [claimed] repentance be accepted, and they are the ones astray.
3:91
إِنّ َ
Indeed
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve[d]
وَمَاتُواۡ
and died
وَهُمۡ
while they
كُفَّارٌ
(are) disbelievers
then never
will be accepted
مِنۡ
from
أَحَدِهِم
any one of them
full
earth
ذَهَبًا
(of) gold
[and] (even) if
he offered as ransom
بِهِۦٓۗ
it
أُوۡ لَـٰٓ ئِكَ
Those
لَهُمۡ
for them
عَذَابٌ
(is) a punishment
أَلِيمٌ
painful
and not
لَهُم
(will be) for them
any
helpers
Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers - never would the [whole] capacity of the earth in gold be accepted from one of them if he would [seek to] ransom himself with it. For those there will be a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers.
3:92
لَن
Never
will you attain
[the] righteousness
حَتَّىٰ
until
تُنف ِقُواۡ
you spend
مِمّ َا
from what
تُحِبُّونَۚ
you love
وَمَا
And whatever
تُنف ِقُواۡ
you spend
مِن
of
a thing
then indeed
Allah
بِهِۦ
of it
عَلِي مٌ
٩٢(is) All-Knowing
Never will you attain the good [reward]1 until you spend [in the way of Allāh] from that which you love. And whatever you spend - indeed, Allāh is Knowing of it.
