جزء 29

11 Surahs431 Versesجزء 29
67:1
تَبَـٰرَكَ
Blessed is
ٱلَّذِى
He
بِيَدِهِ
in Whose Hand
ٱلۡمُلۡكُ
(is) the Dominion
وَهُوَ
and He
عَلَىٰ
(is) over
كُلِّ
every
شَىۡءٍ
thing
قَدِيرٌ
All-Powerful
١
Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent -
67:2
ٱلَّذِى
The One Who
خَلَقَ
created
ٱلۡمَوۡتَ
death
وَٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ
and life
لِيَبۡلُوَكُمۡ
that He may test you
أَيُّكُمۡ
which of you
أَحۡسَنُ
(is) best
عَمَلاً‌ۚ
(in) deed
وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلۡغَفُورُ
the Oft-Forgiving
٢
[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving -
67:3
ٱلَّذِى
The One Who
خَلَقَ
created
سَبۡعَ
seven
سَمَـٰوٰتٍ
heavens
طِبَاقًا‌ۖ
one above another
مَّا
Not
تَرَىٰ
you see
فِى
in
خَلۡقِ
(the) creation
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ
(of) the Most Gracious
مِن
any
تَفَـٰوُتٍ‌ۖ
fault
فَٱرۡجِعِ
So return
ٱلۡبَصَرَ
the vision
هَلۡ
can
تَرَىٰ
you see
مِن
any
فُطُورٍ
flaw
٣
[And] who created seven heavens in layers.1 You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks?
67:4
ثُمَّ
Then
ٱرۡجِعِ
return
ٱلۡبَصَرَ
the vision
كَرَّتَيۡنِ
twice (again)
يَنقَلِبۡ
Will return
إِلَيۡكَ
to you
ٱلۡبَصَرُ
the vision
خَاسِئًا
humbled
وَهُوَ
while it
حَسِيرٌ
(is) fatigued
٤
Then return [your] vision twice again.1 [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued.
67:5
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
زَيَّنَّا
We have beautified
ٱلسَّمَآءَ
the heaven
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
nearest
بِمَصَـٰبِيحَ
with lamps
وَجَعَلۡنَـٰهَا
and We have made them
رُجُومًا
(as) missiles
لِّلشَّيَـٰطِينِ‌ۖ
for the devils
وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا
and We have prepared
لَهُمۡ
for them
عَذَابَ
punishment
ٱلسَّعِيرِ
(of) the Blaze
٥
And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with lamps [i.e., stars] and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils1 and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze.
67:6
وَلِلَّذِينَ
And for those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieved
بِرَبِّهِمۡ
in their Lord
عَذَابُ
(is the) punishment
جَهَنَّمَ‌ۖ
(of) Hell
وَبِئۡسَ
and wretched is
ٱلۡمَصِيرُ
the destination
٦
And for those who disbelieved in their Lord is the punishment of Hell, and wretched is the destination.
67:7
إِذَآ
When
أُلۡقُواۡ
they are thrown
فِيهَا
therein
سَمِعُواۡ
they will hear
لَهَا
from it
شَهِيقًا
an inhaling
وَهِىَ
while it
تَفُورُ
boils up
٧
When they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up.
67:8
تَكَادُ
It almost
تَمَيَّزُ
bursts
مِنَ
from
ٱلۡغَيۡظِ‌ۖ
rage
كُلَّمَآ
Every time
أُلۡقِىَ
is thrown
فِيهَا
therein
فَوۡجٌ
a group
سَأَلَهُمۡ
(will) ask them
خَزَنَتُهَآ
its keepers
أَلَمۡ
Did not
يَأۡتِكُمۡ
come to you
نَذِيرٌ
a warner
٨
It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did there not come to you a warner?"
67:9
قَالُواۡ
They will say
بَلَىٰ
Yes
قَدۡ
indeed
جَآءَنَا
came to us
نَذِيرٌ
a warner
فَكَذَّبۡنَا
but we denied
وَقُلۡنَا
and we said
مَا
Not
نَزَّلَ
has sent down
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
مِن
any
شَىۡءٍ
thing
إِنۡ
Not
أَنتُمۡ
you (are)
إِلَّا
but
فِى
in
ضَلَـٰلٍ
error
كَبِيرٍ
great
٩
They will say, "Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, 'Allāh has not sent down anything. You are not but in great error.'"
67:10
وَقَالُواۡ
And they will say
لَوۡ
If
كُنَّا
we had
نَسۡمَعُ
listened
أَوۡ
or
نَعۡقِلُ
reasoned
مَا
not
كُنَّا
we (would) have been
فِىٓ
among
أَصۡحَـٰبِ
(the) companions
ٱلسَّعِيرِ
(of) the Blaze
١٠
And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze."
67:11
فَٱعۡتَرَفُواۡ
Then they (will) confess
بِذَنۢبِهِمۡ
their sins
فَسُحۡقًا
so away with
لِّأَصۡحَـٰبِ
(the) companions
ٱلسَّعِيرِ
(of) the Blaze
١١
And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation1 for the companions of the Blaze.
67:12
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
يَخۡشَوۡنَ
fear
رَبَّهُم
their Lord
بِٱلۡغَيۡبِ
unseen
لَهُم
for them
مَّغۡفِرَةٌ
(is) forgiveness
وَأَجۡرٌ
and a reward
كَبِيرٌ
great
١٢
Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward.
67:13
وَأَسِرُّواۡ
And conceal
قَوۡلَكُمۡ
your speech
أَوِ
or
ٱجۡهَرُواۡ
proclaim
بِهِۦٓ‌ۖ
it
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, He
عَلِيمُۢ
(is the) All-Knower
بِذَاتِ
of what (is in)
ٱلصُّدُورِ
the breasts
١٣
And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.
67:14
أَلَا
Does not
يَعۡلَمُ
know
مَنۡ
(the One) Who
خَلَقَ
created
وَهُوَ
And He
ٱللَّطِيفُ
(is) the Subtle
ٱلۡخَبِيرُ
the All-Aware
١٤
Does He who created not know,1 while He is the Subtle, the Aware?
67:15
هُوَ
He
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
جَعَلَ
made
لَكُمُ
for you
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
the earth
ذَلُولاً
subservient
فَٱمۡشُواۡ
so walk
فِى
in
مَنَاكِبِهَا
(the) paths thereof
وَكُلُواۡ
and eat
مِن
of
رِّزۡقِهِۦ‌ۖ
His provision
وَإِلَيۡهِ
and to Him
ٱلنُّشُورُ
(is) the Resurrection
١٥
It is He who made the earth tame1 for you - so walk among its slopes and eat of His provision - and to Him is the resurrection.
67:16
ءَأَمِنتُم
Do you feel secure
مَّن
(from Him) Who
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the heaven
أَن
not
يَخۡسِفَ
He will cause to swallow
بِكُمُ
you
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
the earth
فَإِذَا
when
هِىَ
it
تَمُورُ
sways
١٦
Do you feel secure that He who is above1 would not cause the earth to swallow you and suddenly it would sway?2
67:17
أَمۡ
Or
أَمِنتُم
do you feel secure
مَّن
(from Him) Who
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the heaven
أَن
that
يُرۡسِلَ
He will send
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
against you
حَاصِبًا‌ۖ
a storm of stones
فَسَتَعۡلَمُونَ
Then you would know
كَيۡفَ
how
نَذِيرِ
(was) My warning
١٧
Or do you feel secure that He who is above would not send against you a storm of stones? Then you would know how [severe] was My warning.
67:18
وَلَقَدۡ
And indeed
كَذَّبَ
denied
ٱلَّذِينَ
those
مِن
from
قَبۡلِهِمۡ
before them
فَكَيۡفَ
and how
كَانَ
was
نَكِيرِ
My rejection
١٨
And already had those before them denied, and how [terrible] was My reproach.
67:19
أَوَلَمۡ
Do not
يَرَوۡاۡ
they see
إِلَى
[to]
ٱلطَّيۡرِ
the birds
فَوۡقَهُمۡ
above them
صَـٰٓفَّـٰتٍ
spreading (their wings)
وَيَقۡبِضۡنَ‌ۚ
and folding
مَا
Not
يُمۡسِكُهُنَّ
holds them
إِلَّا
except
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ‌ۚ
the Most Gracious
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, He
بِكُلِّ
(is) of every
شَىۡءِۭ
thing
بَصِيرٌ
All-Seer
١٩
Do they not see the birds above them with wings outspread and [sometimes] folded in? None holds them [aloft] except the Most Merciful. Indeed He is, of all things, Seeing.
67:20
أَمَّنۡ
Who is
هَـٰذَا
this
ٱلَّذِى
the one
هُوَ
he
جُندٌ
(is) an army
لَّكُمۡ
for you
يَنصُرُكُم
to help you
مِّن
from
دُونِ
besides
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ‌ۚ
the Most Gracious
إِنِ
Not
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ
(are) the disbelievers
إِلَّا
but
فِى
in
غُرُورٍ
delusion
٢٠
Or who is it that could be an army for you to aid you other than the Most Merciful? The disbelievers are not but in delusion.
67:21
أَمَّنۡ
Who is
هَـٰذَا
this
ٱلَّذِى
the one
يَرۡزُقُكُمۡ
to provide you
إِنۡ
if
أَمۡسَكَ
He withheld
رِزۡقَهُۥ‌ۚ
His provision
بَل
Nay
لَّجُّواۡ
they persist
فِى
in
عُتُوٍّ
pride
وَنُفُورٍ
and aversion
٢١
Or who is it that could provide for you if He withheld His provision? But they have persisted in insolence and aversion.
67:22
أَفَمَن
Then is he who
يَمۡشِى
walks
مُكِبًّا
fallen
عَلَىٰ
on
وَجۡهِهِۦٓ
his face
أَهۡدَىٰٓ
better guided
أَمَّن
or (he) who
يَمۡشِى
walks
سَوِيًّا
upright
عَلَىٰ
on
صِرٰطٍ
(the) Path
مُّسۡتَقِيمٍ
Straight
٢٢
Then is one who walks fallen on his face better guided or one who walks erect on a straight path?
67:23
قُلۡ
Say
هُوَ
He
ٱلَّذِىٓ
(is) the One Who
أَنشَأَكُمۡ
produced you
وَجَعَلَ
and made
لَكُمُ
for you
ٱلسَّمۡعَ
the hearing
وَٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرَ
and the vision
وَٱلۡأَفۡــِٔدَةَ‌ۖ
and the feelings
قَلِيلاً
Little
مَّا
(is) what
تَشۡكُرُونَ
you give thanks
٢٣
Say, "It is He who has produced you and made for you hearing and vision and hearts [i.e., intellect]; little are you grateful."
67:24
قُلۡ
Say
هُوَ
He
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
ذَرَأَكُمۡ
multiplied you
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
وَإِلَيۡهِ
and to Him
تُحۡشَرُونَ
you will be gathered
٢٤
Say, "It is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered."
67:25
وَيَقُولُونَ
And they say
مَتَىٰ
When
هَـٰذَا
(is) this
ٱلۡوَعۡدُ
promise
إِن
if
كُنتُمۡ
you are
صَـٰدِقِينَ
truthful
٢٥
And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"
67:26
قُلۡ
Say
إِنَّمَا
Only
ٱلۡعِلۡمُ
the knowledge
عِندَ
(is) with
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
وَإِنَّمَآ
and only
أَنَاۡ
I am
نَذِيرٌ
a warner
مُّبِينٌ
clear
٢٦
Say, "The knowledge is only with Allāh, and I am only a clear warner."
67:27
فَلَمَّا
But when
رَأَوۡهُ
they (will) see it
زُلۡفَةً
approaching
سِيٓــَٔتۡ
(will be) distressed
وُجُوهُ
(the) faces
ٱلَّذِينَ
(of) those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieved
وَقِيلَ
and it will be said
هَـٰذَا
This
ٱلَّذِى
(is) that which
كُنتُم
you used to
بِهِۦ
for it
تَدَّعُونَ
call
٢٧
But when they see it1 approaching, the faces of those who disbelieve will be distressed, and it will be said, "This is that for which you used to call."2
67:28
قُلۡ
Say
أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ
Have you seen
إِنۡ
if
أَهۡلَكَنِىَ
destroys me
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
وَمَن
and whoever
مَّعِىَ
(is) with me
أَوۡ
or
رَحِمَنَا
has mercy upon us
فَمَن
then who
يُجِيرُ
(can) protect
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
the disbelievers
مِنۡ
from
عَذَابٍ
a punishment
أَلِيمٍ
painful
٢٨
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Have you considered:1 whether Allāh should cause my death and those with me or have mercy upon us, who can protect the disbelievers from a painful punishment?"
67:29
قُلۡ
Say
هُوَ
He
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ
(is) the Most Gracious
ءَامَنَّا
we believe
بِهِۦ
in Him
وَعَلَيۡهِ
and upon Him
تَوَكَّلۡنَا‌ۖ
we put (our) trust
فَسَتَعۡلَمُونَ
So you will know
مَنۡ
who
هُوَ
(is) it
فِى
(that is) in
ضَلَـٰلٍ
error
مُّبِينٍ
clear
٢٩
Say, "He is the Most Merciful; we have believed in Him, and upon Him we have relied. And you will [come to] know who it is that is in clear error."
67:30
قُلۡ
Say
أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ
Have you seen
إِنۡ
if
أَصۡبَحَ
becomes
مَآؤُكُمۡ
your water
غَوۡرًا
sunken
فَمَن
then who
يَأۡتِيكُم
could bring you
بِمَآءٍ
water
مَّعِينِۭ
flowing
٣٠
Say, "Have you considered: if your water was to become sunken [into the earth], then who could bring you flowing water?"
68:1
نٓ‌ۚ
Nun
وَٱلۡقَلَمِ
By the pen
وَمَا
and what
يَسۡطُرُونَ
they write
١
Nūn.1 By the pen and what they inscribe,
68:2
مَآ
Not
أَنتَ
you (are)
بِنِعۡمَةِ
by (the) Grace
رَبِّكَ
(of) your Lord
بِمَجۡنُونٍ
a madman
٢
You are not, [O Muḥammad], by the favor of your Lord, a madman.
68:3
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
لَكَ
for you
لَأَجۡرًا
surely (is) a reward
غَيۡرَ
without
مَمۡنُونٍ
end
٣
And indeed, for you is a reward uninterrupted.
68:4
وَإِنَّكَ
And indeed, you
لَعَلَىٰ
surely (are)
خُلُقٍ
(of) a moral character
عَظِيمٍ
great
٤
And indeed, you are of a great moral character.
68:5
فَسَتُبۡصِرُ
So you will see
وَيُبۡصِرُونَ
and they will see
٥
So you will see and they will see.
68:6
بِأَييِّكُمُ
Which of you
ٱلۡمَفۡتُونُ
(is) the afflicted one
٦
Which of you is the afflicted [by a devil].
68:7
إِنَّ
Indeed
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
هُوَ
He
أَعۡلَمُ
(is) most knowing
بِمَن
of (he) who
ضَلَّ
has strayed
عَن
from
سَبِيلِهِۦ
His way
وَهُوَ
and He
أَعۡلَمُ
(is) most knowing
بِٱلۡمُهۡتَدِينَ
of the guided ones
٧
Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has gone astray from His way, and He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided.
68:8
فَلَا
So (do) not
تُطِعِ
obey
ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
the deniers
٨
Then do not obey the deniers.
68:9
وَدُّواۡ
They wish
لَوۡ
that
تُدۡهِنُ
you should compromise
فَيُدۡهِنُونَ
so they would compromise
٩
They wish that you would soften [in your position], so they would soften [toward you].
68:10
وَلَا
And (do) not
تُطِعۡ
obey
كُلَّ
every
حَلَّافٍ
habitual swearer
مَّهِينٍ
worthless
١٠
And do not obey every worthless habitual swearer
68:11
هَمَّازٍ
Defamer
مَّشَّآءِۭ
going about
بِنَمِيمٍ
with malicious gossip
١١
[And] scorner, going about with malicious gossip -
68:12
مَّنَّاعٍ
A preventer
لِّلۡخَيۡرِ
of (the) good
مُعۡتَدٍ
transgressor
أَثِيمٍ
sinful
١٢
A preventer of good, transgressing and sinful,
68:13
عُتُلِّۭ
Cruel
بَعۡدَ
after
ذٰلِكَ
(all) that
زَنِيمٍ
utterly useless
١٣
Cruel, moreover, and an illegitimate pretender.1
68:14
أَن
Because
كَانَ
(he) is
ذَا
a possessor
مَالٍ
(of) wealth
وَبَنِينَ
and children
١٤
Because he is a possessor of wealth and children,
68:15
إِذَا
When
تُتۡلَىٰ
are recited
عَلَيۡهِ
to him
ءَايَـٰتُنَا
Our Verses
قَالَ
he says
أَسَـٰطِيرُ
Stories
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
(of) the former (people)
١٥
When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples."
68:16
سَنَسِمُهُۥ
We will brand him
عَلَى
on
ٱلۡخُرۡطُومِ
the snout
١٦
We will brand him upon the snout.1
68:17
إِنَّا
Indeed, We
بَلَوۡنَـٰهُمۡ
have tried them
كَمَا
as
بَلَوۡنَآ
We tried
أَصۡحَـٰبَ
(the) companions
ٱلۡجَنَّةِ
(of) the garden
إِذۡ
when
أَقۡسَمُواۡ
they swore
لَيَصۡرِمُنَّهَا
to pluck its fruit
مُصۡبِحِينَ
(in the) morning
١٧
Indeed, We have tried them as We tried the companions of the garden, when they swore to cut its fruit in the [early] morning
68:18
وَلَا
And not
يَسۡتَثۡنُونَ
making exception
١٨
Without making exception.1
68:19
فَطَافَ
So there came
عَلَيۡهَا
upon it
طَآئِفٌ
a visitation
مِّن
from
رَّبِّكَ
your Lord
وَهُمۡ
while they
نَآئِمُونَ
were asleep
١٩
So there came upon it [i.e., the garden] an affliction from your Lord while they were asleep.
68:20
فَأَصۡبَحَتۡ
So it became
كَٱلصَّرِيمِ
as if reaped
٢٠
And it became as though reaped.
68:21
فَتَنَادَوۡاۡ
And they called one another
مُصۡبِحِينَ
(at) morning
٢١
And they called one another at morning,
68:22
أَنِ
That
ٱغۡدُواۡ
Go early
عَلَىٰ
to
حَرۡثِكُمۡ
your crop
إِن
if
كُنتُمۡ
you would
صَـٰرِمِينَ
pluck (the) fruit
٢٢
[Saying], "Go early to your crop if you would cut the fruit."
68:23
فَٱنطَلَقُواۡ
So they went
وَهُمۡ
while they
يَتَخَـٰفَتُونَ
lowered (their) voices
٢٣
So they set out, while lowering their voices,
68:24
أَن
That
لَّا
Not
يَدۡخُلَنَّهَا
will enter it
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
today
عَلَيۡكُم
upon you
مِّسۡكِينٌ
any poor person
٢٤
[Saying], "There will surely not enter it today upon you [any] poor person."
68:25
وَغَدَوۡاۡ
And they went early
عَلَىٰ
with
حَرۡدٍ
determination
قَـٰدِرِينَ
able
٢٥
And they went early in determination, [assuming themselves] able.1
68:26
فَلَمَّا
But when
رَأَوۡهَا
they saw it
قَالُوٓاۡ
they said
إِنَّا
Indeed, we
لَضَآلُّونَ
(are) surely lost
٢٦
But when they saw it, they said, "Indeed, we are lost;
68:27
بَلۡ
Nay
نَحۡنُ
We
مَحۡرُومُونَ
(are) deprived
٢٧
Rather, we have been deprived."
68:28
قَالَ
Said
أَوۡسَطُهُمۡ
(the) most moderate of them
أَلَمۡ
Did not
أَقُل
I tell
لَّكُمۡ
you
لَوۡلَا
'Why not
تُسَبِّحُونَ
you glorify (Allah)?'
٢٨
The most moderate of them said, "Did I not say to you, 'Why do you not exalt [Allāh]?'"1
68:29
قَالُواۡ
They said
سُبۡحَـٰنَ
Glory be
رَبِّنَآ
(to) our Lord
إِنَّا
Indeed, we
كُنَّا
[we] were
ظَـٰلِمِينَ
wrongdoers
٢٩
They said, "Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, we were wrongdoers."
68:30
فَأَقۡبَلَ
Then approached
بَعۡضُهُمۡ
some of them
عَلَىٰ
to
بَعۡضٍ
others
يَتَلَـٰوَمُونَ
blaming each other
٣٠
Then they approached one another, blaming each other.
68:31
قَالُواۡ
They said
يَـٰوَيۡلَنَآ
O woe to us
إِنَّا
Indeed, we
كُنَّا
[we] were
طَـٰغِينَ
transgressors
٣١
They said, "O woe to us; indeed we were transgressors.
68:32
عَسَىٰ
Perhaps
رَبُّنَآ
our Lord
أَن
[that]
يُبۡدِلَنَا
will substitute for us
خَيۡرًا
a better
مِّنۡهَآ
than it
إِنَّآ
Indeed, we
إِلَىٰ
to
رَبِّنَا
our Lord
رٰغِبُونَ
turn devoutly
٣٢
Perhaps our Lord will substitute for us [one] better than it. Indeed, we are toward our Lord desirous."1
68:33
كَذٰلِكَ
Such
ٱلۡعَذَابُ‌ۖ
(is) the punishment
وَلَعَذَابُ
And surely the punishment
ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ
(of) the Hereafter
أَكۡبَرُ‌ۚ
(is) greater
لَوۡ
if
كَانُواۡ
they
يَعۡلَمُونَ
know
٣٣
Such is the punishment [of this world]. And the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if they only knew.
68:34
إِنَّ
Indeed
لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ
for the righteous
عِندَ
with
رَبِّهِمۡ
their Lord
جَنَّـٰتِ
(are) Gardens
ٱلنَّعِيمِ
(of) Delight
٣٤
Indeed, for the righteous with their Lord are the Gardens of Pleasure.
68:35
أَفَنَجۡعَلُ
Then will We treat
ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ
the Muslims
كَٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
like the criminals
٣٥
Then will We treat the Muslims like the criminals?
68:36
مَا
What
لَكُمۡ
(is) for you
كَيۡفَ
How
تَحۡكُمُونَ
(do) you judge
٣٦
What is [the matter] with you? How do you judge?
68:37
أَمۡ
Or
لَكُمۡ
(is) for you
كِتَـٰبٌ
a book
فِيهِ
wherein
تَدۡرُسُونَ
you learn
٣٧
Or do you have a scripture in which you learn
68:38
إِنَّ
Indeed
لَكُمۡ
for you
فِيهِ
in it
لَمَا
what
تَخَيَّرُونَ
you choose
٣٨
That indeed for you is whatever you choose?
68:39
أَمۡ
Or
لَكُمۡ
for you
أَيۡمَـٰنٌ
oaths
عَلَيۡنَا
from us
بَـٰلِغَةٌ
reaching
إِلَىٰ
to
يَوۡمِ
(the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ‌ۙ
(of) the Resurrection
إِنَّ
indeed
لَكُمۡ
for you
لَمَا
(is) what
تَحۡكُمُونَ
you judge
٣٩
Or do you have oaths [binding] upon Us, extending until the Day of Resurrection, that indeed for you is whatever you judge?
68:40
سَلۡهُمۡ
Ask them
أَيُّهُم
which of them
بِذٰلِكَ
for that
زَعِيمٌ
(is) responsible
٤٠
Ask them which of them, for that [claim], is responsible.
68:41
أَمۡ
Or
لَهُمۡ
(are) for them
شُرَكَآءُ
partners
فَلۡيَأۡتُواۡ
Then let them bring
بِشُرَكَآئِهِمۡ
their partners
إِن
if
كَانُواۡ
they are
صَـٰدِقِينَ
truthful
٤١
Or do they have partners?1 Then let them bring their partners, if they should be truthful.
68:42
يَوۡمَ
(The) Day
يُكۡشَفُ
will be uncovered
عَن
from
سَاقٍ
the shin
وَيُدۡعَوۡنَ
and they will be called
إِلَى
to
ٱلسُّجُودِ
prostrate
فَلَا
but not
يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ
they will be able
٤٢
The Day the shin will be uncovered1 and they are invited to prostration but they [i.e., the disbelievers] will not be able,
68:43
خَـٰشِعَةً
Humbled
أَبۡصَـٰرُهُمۡ
their eyes
تَرۡهَقُهُمۡ
will cover them
ذِلَّةٌ‌ۖ
humiliation
وَقَدۡ
And indeed
كَانُواۡ
they were
يُدۡعَوۡنَ
called
إِلَى
to
ٱلسُّجُودِ
prostrate
وَهُمۡ
while they
سَـٰلِمُونَ
(were) sound
٤٣
Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. And they used to be invited to prostration while they were sound.1
68:44
فَذَرۡنِى
So leave Me
وَمَن
and whoever
يُكَذِّبُ
denies
بِهَـٰذَا
this
ٱلۡحَدِيثِ‌ۖ
Statement
سَنَسۡتَدۡرِجُهُم
We will progressively lead them
مِّنۡ
from
حَيۡثُ
where
لَا
not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
they know
٤٤
So leave Me, [O Muḥammad], with [the matter of] whoever denies this statement [i.e., the Qur’ān]. We will progressively lead them [to punishment] from where they do not know.1
68:45
وَأُمۡلِى
And I will give respite
لَهُمۡ‌ۚ
to them
إِنَّ
Indeed
كَيۡدِى
My plan
مَتِينٌ
(is) firm
٤٥
And I will give them time. Indeed, My plan is firm.
68:46
أَمۡ
Or
تَسۡــَٔلُهُمۡ
you ask them
أَجۡرًا
a payment
فَهُم
so they
مِّن
from
مَّغۡرَمٍ
(the) debt
مُّثۡقَلُونَ
(are) burdened
٤٦
Or do you ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down?
68:47
أَمۡ
Or
عِندَهُمُ
(is) with them
ٱلۡغَيۡبُ
the unseen
فَهُمۡ
so they
يَكۡتُبُونَ
write it
٤٧
Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?
68:48
فَٱصۡبِرۡ
So be patient
لِحُكۡمِ
for (the) decision
رَبِّكَ
(of) your Lord
وَلَا
and (do) not
تَكُن
be
كَصَاحِبِ
like (the) companion
ٱلۡحُوتِ
(of) the fish
إِذۡ
when
نَادَىٰ
he called out
وَهُوَ
while he
مَكۡظُومٌ
(was) distressed
٤٨
Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, [O Muḥammad], and be not like the companion of the fish [i.e., Jonah] when he called out while he was distressed.
68:49
لَّوۡلَآ
If not
أَن
that
تَدٰرَكَهُۥ
overtook him
نِعۡمَةٌ
a Favor
مِّن
from
رَّبِّهِۦ
his Lord
لَنُبِذَ
surely he would have been thrown
بِٱلۡعَرَآءِ
onto (the) naked shore
وَهُوَ
while he
مَذۡمُومٌ
(was) blamed
٤٩
If not that a favor [i.e., mercy] from his Lord overtook him, he would have been thrown onto the naked shore while he was censured.1
68:50
فَٱجۡتَبَـٰهُ
But chose him
رَبُّهُۥ
his Lord
فَجَعَلَهُۥ
and made him
مِنَ
of
ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
the righteous
٥٠
And his Lord chose him and made him of the righteous.
68:51
وَإِن
And indeed
يَكَادُ
would almost
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
لَيُزۡلِقُونَكَ
surely make you slip
بِأَبۡصَـٰرِهِمۡ
with their look
لَمَّا
when
سَمِعُواۡ
they hear
ٱلذِّكۡرَ
the Message
وَيَقُولُونَ
and they say
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, he
لَمَجۡنُونٌ
(is) surely mad
٥١
And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes [i.e., looks] when they hear the message, and they say, "Indeed, he is mad."
68:52
وَمَا
And not
هُوَ
it (is)
إِلَّا
but
ذِكۡرٌ
a Reminder
لِّلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
to the worlds
٥٢
But it is not except a reminder to the worlds.
69:1
ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
The Inevitable Reality
١
The Inevitable Reality -
69:2
مَا
What
ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
(is) the Inevitable Reality
٢
What is the Inevitable Reality?
69:3
وَمَآ
And what
أَدۡرَٮٰكَ
will make you know
مَا
what
ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
(is) the Inevitable Reality
٣
And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality?
69:4
كَذَّبَتۡ
Denied
ثَمُودُ
Thamud
وَعَادُۢ
and Aad
بِٱلۡقَارِعَةِ
the Striking Calamity
٤
Thamūd and ʿAad denied the Striking Calamity [i.e., the Resurrection].
69:5
فَأَمَّا
So as for
ثَمُودُ
Thamud
فَأُهۡلِكُواۡ
they were destroyed
بِٱلطَّاغِيَةِ
by the overpowering (blast)
٥
So as for Thamūd, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast].
69:6
وَأَمَّا
And as for
عَادٌ
Aad
فَأُهۡلِكُواۡ
they were destroyed
بِرِيحٍ
by a wind
صَرۡصَرٍ
screaming
عَاتِيَةٍ
violent
٦
And as for ʿAad, they were destroyed by a screaming,1 violent wind
69:7
سَخَّرَهَا
Which He imposed
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
upon them
سَبۡعَ
(for) seven
لَيَالٍ
nights
وَثَمَـٰنِيَةَ
and eight
أَيَّامٍ
days
حُسُومًا
(in) succession
فَتَرَى
so you would see
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
the people
فِيهَا
therein
صَرۡعَىٰ
fallen
كَأَنَّهُمۡ
as if they were
أَعۡجَازُ
trunks
نَخۡلٍ
(of) date-palms
خَاوِيَةٍ
hollow
٧
Which He [i.e., Allāh] imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees.
69:8
فَهَلۡ
Then do
تَرَىٰ
you see
لَهُم
of them
مِّنۢ
any
بَاقِيَةٍ
remains
٨
Then do you see of them any remains?
69:9
وَجَآءَ
And came
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
Firaun
وَمَن
and (those)
قَبۡلَهُۥ
before him
وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَـٰتُ
and the overturned cities
بِٱلۡخَاطِئَةِ
with sin
٩
And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities1 with sin.
69:10
فَعَصَوۡاۡ
And they disobeyed
رَسُولَ
(the) Messenger
رَبِّهِمۡ
(of) their Lord
فَأَخَذَهُمۡ
so He seized them
أَخۡذَةً
(with) a seizure
رَّابِيَةً
exceeding
١٠
And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity].
69:11
إِنَّا
Indeed, We
لَمَّا
when
طَغَا
overflowed
ٱلۡمَآءُ
the water
حَمَلۡنَـٰكُمۡ
We carried you
فِى
in
ٱلۡجَارِيَةِ
the sailing (ship)
١١
Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried you [i.e., your ancestors] in the sailing ship1
69:12
لِنَجۡعَلَهَا
That We might make it
لَكُمۡ
for you
تَذۡكِرَةً
a reminder
وَتَعِيَهَآ
and would be conscious of it
أُذُنٌ
an ear
وٰعِيَةٌ
conscious
١٢
That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it.
69:13
فَإِذَا
Then when
نُفِخَ
is blown
فِى
in
ٱلصُّورِ
the trumpet
نَفۡخَةٌ
a blast
وٰحِدَةٌ
single
١٣
Then when the Horn is blown with one blast
69:14
وَحُمِلَتِ
And are lifted
ٱلۡأَرۡضُ
the earth
وَٱلۡجِبَالُ
and the mountains
فَدُكَّتَا
and crushed
دَكَّةً
(with) a crushing
وٰحِدَةً
single
١٤
And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow [i.e., stroke] -
69:15
فَيَوۡمَئِذٍ
Then (on) that Day
وَقَعَتِ
will occur
ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ
the Occurrence
١٥
Then on that Day, the Occurrence [i.e., Resurrection] will occur,
69:16
وَٱنشَقَّتِ
And will split
ٱلسَّمَآءُ
the heaven
فَهِىَ
so it
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
(is on) that Day
وَاهِيَةٌ
frail
١٦
And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm.1
69:17
وَٱلۡمَلَكُ
And the Angels
عَلَىٰٓ
(will be) on
أَرۡجَآئِهَا‌ۚ
its edges
وَيَحۡمِلُ
and will bear
عَرۡشَ
(the) Throne
رَبِّكَ
(of) your Lord
فَوۡقَهُمۡ
above them
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
ثَمَـٰنِيَةٌ
eight
١٧
And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them].
69:18
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
That Day
تُعۡرَضُونَ
you will be exhibited
لَا
not
تَخۡفَىٰ
will be hidden
مِنكُمۡ
among you
خَافِيَةٌ
any secret
١٨
That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed.1
69:19
فَأَمَّا
Then as for
مَنۡ
(him) who
أُوتِىَ
is given
كِتَـٰبَهُۥ
his record
بِيَمِينِهِۦ
in his right hand
فَيَقُولُ
will say
هَآؤُمُ
Here
ٱقۡرَءُواۡ
read
كِتَـٰبِيَهۡ
my record
١٩
So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record!
69:20
إِنِّى
Indeed, I
ظَنَنتُ
was certain
أَنِّى
that I
مُلَـٰقٍ
(will) meet
حِسَابِيَهۡ
my account
٢٠
Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account."
69:21
فَهُوَ
So he
فِى
(will be) in
عِيشَةٍ
a life
رَّاضِيَةٍ
pleasant
٢١
So he will be in a pleasant life -
69:22
فِى
In
جَنَّةٍ
a Garden
عَالِيَةٍ
elevated
٢٢
In an elevated garden,
69:23
قُطُوفُهَا
Its clusters of fruits
دَانِيَةٌ
hanging near
٢٣
Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near.
69:24
كُلُواۡ
Eat
وَٱشۡرَبُواۡ
and drink
هَنِيٓـــَٔۢا
(in) satisfaction
بِمَآ
for what
أَسۡلَفۡتُمۡ
you sent before you
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَيَّامِ
the days
ٱلۡخَالِيَةِ
past
٢٤
[They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth1 in the days past."
69:25
وَأَمَّا
But as for
مَنۡ
(him) who
أُوتِىَ
is given
كِتَـٰبَهُۥ
his record
بِشِمَالِهِۦ
in his left hand
فَيَقُولُ
will say
يَـٰلَيۡتَنِى
O! I wish
لَمۡ
not
أُوتَ
I had been given
كِتَـٰبِيَهۡ
my record
٢٥
But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record
69:26
وَلَمۡ
And not
أَدۡرِ
I had known
مَا
what
حِسَابِيَهۡ
(is) my account
٢٦
And had not known what is my account.
69:27
يَـٰلَيۡتَهَا
O! I wish it
كَانَتِ
had been
ٱلۡقَاضِيَةَ
the end
٢٧
I wish it [i.e., my death] had been the decisive one.1
69:28
مَآ
Not
أَغۡنَىٰ
has availed
عَنِّى
me
مَالِيَهۡۜ
my wealth
٢٨
My wealth has not availed me.
69:29
هَلَكَ
Is gone
عَنِّى
from me
سُلۡطَـٰنِيَهۡ
my authority
٢٩
Gone from me is my authority."1
69:30
خُذُوهُ
Seize him
فَغُلُّوهُ
and shackle him
٣٠
[Allāh will say], "Seize him and shackle him.
69:31
ثُمَّ
Then
ٱلۡجَحِيمَ
(into) the Hellfire
صَلُّوهُ
burn him
٣١
Then into Hellfire drive him.
69:32
ثُمَّ
Then
فِى
into
سِلۡسِلَةٍ
a chain
ذَرۡعُهَا
its length
سَبۡعُونَ
(is) seventy
ذِرَاعًا
cubits
فَٱسۡلُكُوهُ
insert him
٣٢
Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him."
69:33
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, he
كَانَ
was
لَا
not
يُؤۡمِنُ
believing
بِٱللَّهِ
in Allah
ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
the Most Great
٣٣
Indeed, he did not used to believe in Allāh, the Most Great,
69:34
وَلَا
And (did) not
يَحُضُّ
feel the urge
عَلَىٰ
on
طَعَامِ
(the) feeding
ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ
(of) the poor
٣٤
Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor.
69:35
فَلَيۡسَ
So not
لَهُ
for him
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
today
هَـٰهُنَا
here
حَمِيمٌ
any devoted friend
٣٥
So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend
69:36
وَلَا
And not
طَعَامٌ
any food
إِلَّا
except
مِنۡ
from
غِسۡلِينٍ
(the) discharge of wounds
٣٦
Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds;
69:37
لَّا
Not
يَأۡكُلُهُۥٓ
will eat it
إِلَّا
except
ٱلۡخَـٰطِــُٔونَ
the sinners
٣٧
None will eat it except the sinners.
69:38
فَلَآ
But nay
أُقۡسِمُ
I swear
بِمَا
by what
تُبۡصِرُونَ
you see
٣٨
So I swear by what you see
69:39
وَمَا
And what
لَا
not
تُبۡصِرُونَ
you see
٣٩
And what you do not see
69:40
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, it (is)
لَقَوۡلُ
surely (the) Word
رَسُولٍ
(of) a Messenger
كَرِيمٍ
noble
٤٠
[That] indeed, it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is the word of a noble Messenger.
69:41
وَمَا
And not
هُوَ
it
بِقَوۡلِ
(is the) word
شَاعِرٍ‌ۚ
(of) a poet
قَلِيلاً
little
مَّا
(is) what
تُؤۡمِنُونَ
you believe
٤١
And it is not the word of a poet; little do you believe.
69:42
وَلَا
And not
بِقَوۡلِ
(it is the) word
كَاهِنٍ‌ۚ
(of) a soothsayer
قَلِيلاً
little
مَّا
(is) what
تَذَكَّرُونَ
you take heed
٤٢
Nor the word of a soothsayer; little do you remember.
69:43
تَنزِيلٌ
(It is) a revelation
مِّن
from
رَّبِّ
(the) Lord
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
(of) the worlds
٤٣
[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.
69:44
وَلَوۡ
And if
تَقَوَّلَ
he (had) fabricated
عَلَيۡنَا
against Us
بَعۡضَ
some
ٱلۡأَقَاوِيلِ
sayings
٤٤
And if he [i.e., Muḥammad] had made up about Us some [false] sayings,
69:45
لَأَخَذۡنَا
Certainly We (would) have seized
مِنۡهُ
him
بِٱلۡيَمِينِ
by the right hand
٤٥
We would have seized him by the right hand;1
69:46
ثُمَّ
Then
لَقَطَعۡنَا
certainly We (would) have cut off
مِنۡهُ
from him
ٱلۡوَتِينَ
the aorta
٤٦
Then We would have cut from him the aorta.1
69:47
فَمَا
And not
مِنكُم
from you
مِّنۡ
any
أَحَدٍ
one
عَنۡهُ
[from him]
حَـٰجِزِينَ
(who could) prevent (it)
٤٧
And there is no one of you who could prevent [Us] from him.
69:48
وَإِنَّهُۥ
And indeed, it
لَتَذۡكِرَةٌ
(is) surely a reminder
لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
for the Allah-fearing
٤٨
And indeed, it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is a reminder for the righteous.
69:49
وَإِنَّا
And indeed, We
لَنَعۡلَمُ
surely know
أَنَّ
that
مِنكُم
among you
مُّكَذِّبِينَ
(are) deniers
٤٩
And indeed, We know that among you are deniers.
69:50
وَإِنَّهُۥ
And indeed, it
لَحَسۡرَةٌ
(is) surely a regret
عَلَى
upon
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
the disbelievers
٥٠
And indeed, it will be [a cause of] regret upon the disbelievers.
69:51
وَإِنَّهُۥ
And indeed, it (is)
لَحَقُّ
surely (the) truth
ٱلۡيَقِينِ
(of) certainty
٥١
And indeed, it is the truth of certainty.
69:52
فَسَبِّحۡ
So glorify
بِٱسۡمِ
(the) name
رَبِّكَ
(of) your Lord
ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
the Most Great
٥٢
So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.
70:1
سَأَلَ
Asked
سَآئِلُۢ
a questioner
بِعَذَابٍ
about a punishment
وَاقِعٍ
bound to happen
١
A supplicant asked for a punishment bound to happen1
70:2
لِّلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
To the disbelievers
لَيۡسَ
not
لَهُۥ
of it
دَافِعٌ
any preventer
٢
To the disbelievers; of it there is no preventer.
70:3
مِّنَ
From
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
ذِى
Owner
ٱلۡمَعَارِجِ
(of) the ways of ascent
٣
[It is] from Allāh, owner of the ways of ascent.
70:4
تَعۡرُجُ
Ascend
ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ
the Angels
وَٱلرُّوحُ
and the Spirit
إِلَيۡهِ
to Him
فِى
in
يَوۡمٍ
a Day
كَانَ
[is]
مِقۡدَارُهُۥ
its measure
خَمۡسِينَ
(is) fifty
أَلۡفَ
thousand
سَنَةٍ
year(s)
٤
The angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] will ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years.
70:5
فَٱصۡبِرۡ
So be patient
صَبۡرًا
a patience
جَمِيلاً
good
٥
So be patient with gracious patience.
70:6
إِنَّهُمۡ
Indeed, they
يَرَوۡنَهُۥ
see it
بَعِيدًا
(as) far off
٦
Indeed, they see it [as] distant,
70:7
وَنَرَٮٰهُ
But We see it
قَرِيبًا
near
٧
But We see it [as] near.
70:8
يَوۡمَ
(The) Day
تَكُونُ
will be
ٱلسَّمَآءُ
the sky
كَٱلۡمُهۡلِ
like molten copper
٨
On the Day the sky will be like murky oil,1
70:9
وَتَكُونُ
And will be
ٱلۡجِبَالُ
the mountains
كَٱلۡعِهۡنِ
like wool
٩
And the mountains will be like wool,1
70:10
وَلَا
And not
يَسۡــَٔلُ
will ask
حَمِيمٌ
a friend
حَمِيمًا
(about) a friend
١٠
And no friend will ask [anything of] a friend,
70:11
يُبَصَّرُونَهُمۡ‌ۚ
They will be made to see each other
يَوَدُّ
Would wish
ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُ
the criminal
لَوۡ
if
يَفۡتَدِى
he (could be) ransomed
مِنۡ
from
عَذَابِ
(the) punishment
يَوۡمِئِذِۭ
(of) that Day
بِبَنِيهِ
by his children
١١
They will be shown each other. The criminal will wish that he could be ransomed from the punishment of that Day by his children.
70:12
وَصَـٰحِبَتِهِۦ
And his spouse
وَأَخِيهِ
and his brother
١٢
And his wife and his brother
70:13
وَفَصِيلَتِهِ
And his nearest kindred
ٱلَّتِى
who
تُــٔۡوِيهِ
sheltered him
١٣
And his nearest kindred who shelter him.
70:14
وَمَن
And whoever
فِى
(is) on
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
جَمِيعًا
all
ثُمَّ
then
يُنجِيهِ
it (could) save him
١٤
And whoever is on earth entirely [so] then it could save him.
70:15
كَلَّآ‌ۖ
By no means
إِنَّهَا
Indeed, it (is)
لَظَىٰ
surely a Flame of Hell
١٥
No!1 Indeed, it is the Flame [of Hell],
70:16
نَزَّاعَةً
A remover
لِّلشَّوَىٰ
of the skin of the head
١٦
A remover of exteriors.1
70:17
تَدۡعُواۡ
Inviting
مَنۡ
(him) who
أَدۡبَرَ
turned his back
وَتَوَلَّىٰ
and went away
١٧
It invites he who turned his back [on truth] and went away [from obedience]
70:18
وَجَمَعَ
And collected
فَأَوۡعَىٰٓ
and hoarded
١٨
And collected [wealth] and hoarded.
70:19
۞إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ
the man
خُلِقَ
was created
هَلُوعًا
anxious
١٩
Indeed, mankind was created anxious:
70:20
إِذَا
When
مَسَّهُ
touches him
ٱلشَّرُّ
the evil
جَزُوعًا
distressed
٢٠
When evil touches him, impatient,
70:21
وَإِذَا
And when
مَسَّهُ
touches him
ٱلۡخَيۡرُ
the good
مَنُوعًا
withholding
٢١
And when good touches him, withholding [of it],
70:22
إِلَّا
Except
ٱلۡمُصَلِّينَ
those who pray
٢٢
Except the observers of prayer -
70:23
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
هُمۡ
[they]
عَلَىٰ
at
صَلَاتِهِمۡ
their prayer
دَآئِمُونَ
(are) constant
٢٣
Those who are constant in their prayer
70:24
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
فِىٓ
in
أَمۡوٰلِهِمۡ
their wealth
حَقٌّ
(is) a right
مَّعۡلُومٌ
known
٢٤
And those within whose wealth is a known right1
70:25
لِّلسَّآئِلِ
For the one who asks
وَٱلۡمَحۡرُومِ
and the deprived
٢٥
For the petitioner and the deprived -
70:26
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
يُصَدِّقُونَ
accept (the) truth
بِيَوۡمِ
(of the) Day
ٱلدِّينِ
(of) the Judgment
٢٦
And those who believe in the Day of Recompense
70:27
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
هُم
[they]
مِّنۡ
of
عَذَابِ
(the) punishment
رَبِّهِم
(of) their Lord
مُّشۡفِقُونَ
(are) fearful
٢٧
And those who are fearful of the punishment of their Lord -
70:28
إِنَّ
Indeed
عَذَابَ
(the) punishment
رَبِّهِمۡ
(of) your Lord
غَيۡرُ
(is) not
مَأۡمُونٍ
to be felt secure (of)
٢٨
Indeed, the punishment of their Lord is not that from which one is safe -
70:29
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
هُمۡ
[they]
لِفُرُوجِهِمۡ
their modesty
حَـٰفِظُونَ
(are) guardians
٢٩
And those who guard their private parts
70:30
إِلَّا
Except
عَلَىٰٓ
from
أَزۡوٰجِهِمۡ
their spouses
أَوۡ
or
مَا
what
مَلَكَتۡ
they possess
أَيۡمَـٰنُهُمۡ
rightfully
فَإِنَّهُمۡ
then indeed, they
غَيۡرُ
(are) not
مَلُومِينَ
blameworthy
٣٠
Except from their wives or those their right hands possess,1 for indeed, they are not to be blamed -
70:31
فَمَنِ
But whoever
ٱبۡتَغَىٰ
seeks
وَرَآءَ
beyond
ذٰلِكَ
that
فَأُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
then those
هُمُ
[they]
ٱلۡعَادُونَ
(are) the transgressors
٣١
But whoever seeks beyond that, then they are the transgressors -
70:32
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
هُمۡ
[they]
لِأَمَـٰنَـٰتِهِمۡ
of their trusts
وَعَهۡدِهِمۡ
and their promise
رٰعُونَ
(are) observers
٣٢
And those who are to their trusts and promises attentive.
70:33
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
هُم
[they]
بِشَهَـٰدٰتِهِمۡ
in their testimonies
قَآئِمُونَ
stand firm
٣٣
And those who are in their testimonies upright
70:34
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
هُمۡ
[they]
عَلَىٰ
on
صَلَاتِهِمۡ
their prayer
يُحَافِظُونَ
keep a guard
٣٤
And those who [carefully] maintain their prayer:
70:35
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
Those
فِى
(will be) in
جَنَّـٰتٍ
Gardens
مُّكۡرَمُونَ
honored
٣٥
They will be in gardens,1 honored.
70:36
فَمَالِ
So what is with
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
قِبَلَكَ
before you
مُهۡطِعِينَ
(they) hasten
٣٦
So what is [the matter] with those who disbelieve, hastening [from] before you, [O Muḥammad],
70:37
عَنِ
On
ٱلۡيَمِينِ
the right
وَعَنِ
and on
ٱلشِّمَالِ
the left
عِزِينَ
(in) separate groups
٣٧
[To sit] on [your] right and [your] left in separate groups?1
70:38
أَيَطۡمَعُ
Does long
كُلُّ
every
ٱمۡرِىٍٕ
person
مِّنۡهُمۡ
among them
أَن
that
يُدۡخَلَ
he enters
جَنَّةَ
a Garden
نَعِيمٍ
(of) Delight
٣٨
Does every person among them aspire to enter a garden of pleasure?
70:39
كَلَّآ‌ۖ
By no means
إِنَّا
Indeed, We
خَلَقۡنَـٰهُم
[We] have created them
مِّمَّا
from what
يَعۡلَمُونَ
they know
٣٩
No! Indeed, We have created them from that which they know.1
70:40
فَلَآ
But nay
أُقۡسِمُ
I swear
بِرَبِّ
by (the) Lord
ٱلۡمَشَـٰرِقِ
(of) the risings
وَٱلۡمَغَـٰرِبِ
and the settings
إِنَّا
that We
لَقَـٰدِرُونَ
(are) surely Able
٤٠
So I swear by the Lord of [all] risings and settings1 that indeed We are able
70:41
عَلَىٰٓ
[On]
أَن
to
نُّبَدِّلَ
[We] replace
خَيۡرًا
(with) better
مِّنۡهُمۡ
than them
وَمَا
and not
نَحۡنُ
We
بِمَسۡبُوقِينَ
(are) to be outrun
٤١
To replace them with better than them; and We are not to be outdone.
70:42
فَذَرۡهُمۡ
So leave them
يَخُوضُواۡ
(to) converse vainly
وَيَلۡعَبُواۡ
and amuse themselves
حَتَّىٰ
until
يُلَـٰقُواۡ
they meet
يَوۡمَهُمُ
their Day
ٱلَّذِى
which
يُوعَدُونَ
they are promised
٤٢
So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised -
70:43
يَوۡمَ
(The) Day
يَخۡرُجُونَ
they will come out
مِنَ
from
ٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِ
the graves
سِرَاعًا
rapidly
كَأَنَّهُمۡ
as if they (were)
إِلَىٰ
to
نُصُبٍ
a goal
يُوفِضُونَ
hastening
٤٣
The Day they will emerge from the graves rapidly as if they were, toward an erected idol, hastening.1
70:44
خَـٰشِعَةً
Humbled
أَبۡصَـٰرُهُمۡ
their eyesights
تَرۡهَقُهُمۡ
will cover them
ذِلَّةٌ‌ۚ
humiliation
ذٰلِكَ
That
ٱلۡيَوۡمُ
(is) the Day
ٱلَّذِى
which
كَانُواۡ
they were
يُوعَدُونَ
promised
٤٤
Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. That is the Day which they had been promised.
71:1
إِنَّآ
Indeed, We
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
[We] sent
نُوحًا
Nuh
إِلَىٰ
to
قَوۡمِهِۦٓ
his people
أَنۡ
that
أَنذِرۡ
Warn
قَوۡمَكَ
your people
مِن
from
قَبۡلِ
before
أَن
[that]
يَأۡتِيَهُمۡ
comes to them
عَذَابٌ
a punishment
أَلِيمٌ
painful
١
Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment."
71:2
قَالَ
He said
يَـٰقَوۡمِ
O my people
إِنِّى
Indeed, I am
لَكُمۡ
to you
نَذِيرٌ
a warner
مُّبِينٌ
clear
٢
He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner -
71:3
أَنِ
That
ٱعۡبُدُواۡ
Worship
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
وَٱتَّقُوهُ
and fear Him
وَأَطِيعُونِ
and obey me
٣
To worship Allāh, fear Him and obey me.
71:4
يَغۡفِرۡ
He will forgive
لَكُم
for you
مِّن
[of]
ذُنُوبِكُمۡ
your sins
وَيُؤَخِّرۡكُمۡ
and give you respite
إِلَىٰٓ
for
أَجَلٍ
a term
مُّسَمًّى‌ۚ
specified
إِنَّ
Indeed
أَجَلَ
(the) term
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
إِذَا
when
جَآءَ
it comes
لَا
not
يُؤَخَّرُ‌ۖ
is delayed
لَوۡ
if
كُنتُمۡ
you
تَعۡلَمُونَ
know
٤
He [i.e., Allāh] will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allāh, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew."
71:5
قَالَ
He said
رَبِّ
My Lord
إِنِّى
Indeed, I
دَعَوۡتُ
invited
قَوۡمِى
my people
لَيۡلاً
night
وَنَهَارًا
and day
٥
He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day.
71:6
فَلَمۡ
But not
يَزِدۡهُمۡ
increased them
دُعَآءِىٓ
my invitation
إِلَّا
except
فِرَارًا
(in) flight
٦
But my invitation increased them not except in flight [i.e., aversion].
71:7
وَإِنِّى
And indeed, I
كُلَّمَا
every time
دَعَوۡتُهُمۡ
I invited them
لِتَغۡفِرَ
that You may forgive
لَهُمۡ
them
جَعَلُوٓاۡ
they put
أَصَـٰبِعَهُمۡ
their fingers
فِىٓ
in
ءَاذَانِهِمۡ
their ears
وَٱسۡتَغۡشَوۡاۡ
and covered themselves
ثِيَابَهُمۡ
(with) their garments
وَأَصَرُّواۡ
and persisted
وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواۡ
and were arrogant
ٱسۡتِكۡبَارًا
(with) pride
٧
And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments,1 persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance.
71:8
ثُمَّ
Then
إِنِّى
indeed, I
دَعَوۡتُهُمۡ
invited them
جِهَارًا
publicly
٨
Then I invited them publicly.
71:9
ثُمَّ
Then
إِنِّىٓ
indeed, I
أَعۡلَنتُ
announced
لَهُمۡ
to them
وَأَسۡرَرۡتُ
and I confided
لَهُمۡ
to them
إِسۡرَارًا
secretly
٩
Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly
71:10
فَقُلۡتُ
Then I said
ٱسۡتَغۡفِرُواۡ
Ask forgiveness
رَبَّكُمۡ
(from) your Lord
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, He
كَانَ
is
غَفَّارًا
Oft-Forgiving
١٠
And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver.
71:11
يُرۡسِلِ
He will send down
ٱلسَّمَآءَ
(rain from) the sky
عَلَيۡكُم
upon you
مِّدۡرَارًا
(in) abundance
١١
He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers
71:12
وَيُمۡدِدۡكُم
And provide you
بِأَمۡوٰلٍ
with wealth
وَبَنِينَ
and children
وَيَجۡعَل
and make
لَّكُمۡ
for you
جَنَّـٰتٍ
gardens
وَيَجۡعَل
and make
لَّكُمۡ
for you
أَنۡهَـٰرًا
rivers
١٢
And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers.
71:13
مَّا
What
لَكُمۡ
(is) for you
لَا
not
تَرۡجُونَ
you attribute
لِلَّهِ
to Allah
وَقَارًا
grandeur
١٣
What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allāh [due] grandeur
71:14
وَقَدۡ
And indeed
خَلَقَكُمۡ
He created you
أَطۡوَارًا
(in) stages
١٤
While He has created you in stages?1
71:15
أَلَمۡ
Do not
تَرَوۡاۡ
you see
كَيۡفَ
how
خَلَقَ
did create
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
سَبۡعَ
(the) seven
سَمَـٰوٰتٍ
heavens
طِبَاقًا
(in) layers
١٥
Do you not consider how Allāh has created seven heavens in layers1
71:16
وَجَعَلَ
And made
ٱلۡقَمَرَ
the moon
فِيهِنَّ
therein
نُورًا
a light
وَجَعَلَ
and made
ٱلشَّمۡسَ
the sun
سِرَاجًا
a lamp
١٦
And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp?
71:17
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
أَنۢبَتَكُم
has caused you to grow
مِّنَ
from
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
نَبَاتًا
(as) a growth
١٧
And Allāh has caused you to grow from the earth a [progressive] growth.
71:18
ثُمَّ
Then
يُعِيدُكُمۡ
He will return you
فِيهَا
into it
وَيُخۡرِجُكُمۡ
and bring you forth
إِخۡرَاجًا
(a new) bringing forth
١٨
Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction.
71:19
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
جَعَلَ
made
لَكُمُ
for you
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
the earth
بِسَاطًا
an expanse
١٩
And Allāh has made for you the earth an expanse
71:20
لِّتَسۡلُكُواۡ
That you may go along
مِنۡهَا
therein
سُبُلاً
(in) paths
فِجَاجًا
wide
٢٠
That you may follow therein roads of passage.'"
71:21
قَالَ
Said
نُوحٌ
Nuh
رَّبِّ
My Lord
إِنَّهُمۡ
Indeed, they
عَصَوۡنِى
disobeyed me
وَٱتَّبَعُواۡ
and followed
مَن
(the one) who
لَّمۡ
(did) not
يَزِدۡهُ
increase him
مَالُهُۥ
his wealth
وَوَلَدُهُۥٓ
and his children
إِلَّا
except
خَسَارًا
(in) loss
٢١
Noah said, "My Lord, indeed they have disobeyed me and followed him whose wealth and children will not increase him except in loss.
71:22
وَمَكَرُواۡ
And they have planned
مَكۡرًا
a plan
كُبَّارًا
great
٢٢
And they conspired an immense conspiracy
71:23
وَقَالُواۡ
And they said
لَا
(Do) not
تَذَرُنَّ
leave
ءَالِهَتَكُمۡ
your gods
وَلَا
and (do) not
تَذَرُنَّ
leave
وَدًّا
Wadd
وَلَا
and not
سُوَاعًا
Suwa
وَلَا
and not
يَغُوثَ
Yaguth
وَيَعُوقَ
and Yauq
وَنَسۡرًا
and Nasr
٢٣
And said, 'Never leave your gods and never leave Wadd or Suwāʿ or Yaghūth and Yaʿūq and Nasr.'1
71:24
وَقَدۡ
And indeed
أَضَلُّواۡ
they have led astray
كَثِيرًا‌ۖ
many
وَلَا
And not
تَزِدِ
increase
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
the wrongdoers
إِلَّا
except
ضَلَـٰلاً
(in) error
٢٤
And already they have misled many. And, [my Lord], do not increase the wrongdoers except in error."
71:25
مِّمَّا
Because of
خَطِيٓـَٔـٰتِهِمۡ
their sins
أُغۡرِقُواۡ
they were drowned
فَأُدۡخِلُواۡ
then made to enter
نَارًا
(the) Fire
فَلَمۡ
and not
يَجِدُواۡ
they found
لَهُم
for themselves
مِّن
from
دُونِ
besides
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
أَنصَارًا
any helpers
٢٥
Because of their sins they were drowned and put into the Fire, and they found not for themselves besides Allāh [any] helpers.
71:26
وَقَالَ
And said
نُوحٌ
Nuh
رَّبِّ
My Lord
لَا
(Do) not
تَذَرۡ
leave
عَلَى
on
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
مِنَ
any
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
(of) the disbelievers
دَيَّارًا
(as) an inhabitant
٢٦
And Noah said, "My Lord, do not leave upon the earth from among the disbelievers an inhabitant.
71:27
إِنَّكَ
Indeed, You
إِن
if
تَذَرۡهُمۡ
You leave them
يُضِلُّواۡ
they will mislead
عِبَادَكَ
Your slaves
وَلَا
and not
يَلِدُوٓاۡ
they will beget
إِلَّا
except
فَاجِرًا
a wicked
كَفَّارًا
a disbeliever
٢٧
Indeed, if You leave them, they will mislead Your servants and not beget except [every] wicked one and [confirmed] disbeliever.
71:28
رَّبِّ
My Lord
ٱغۡفِرۡ
Forgive
لِى
me
وَلِوٰلِدَىَّ
and my parents
وَلِمَن

and the believing men
وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَـٰتِ
and the believing women
وَلَا
And (do) not

ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
the wrongdoers

(in) destruction
٢٨
My Lord, forgive me and my parents and whoever enters my house a believer and the believing men and believing women. And do not increase the wrongdoers except in destruction."
72:1
قُلۡ
Say
أُوحِىَ
It has been revealed
إِلَىَّ
to me
أَنَّهُ
that
ٱسۡتَمَعَ
listened

a group
مِّنَ
of
ٱلۡجِنِّ
the jinn
فَقَالُوٓاۡ
and they said
إِنَّا
Indeed, we
سَمِعۡنَا
heard
قُرۡءَانًا
a Quran
عَجَبًا
amazing
١
Say, [O Muḥammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur’ān [i.e., recitation].
72:2
يَهۡدِىٓ
It guides
إِلَى

in it
وَلَن

نُّشۡرِكَ
we will associate
بِرَبِّنَآ
with our Lord
أَحَدًا
anyone
٢
It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone.
72:3
وَأَنَّهُۥ
And that He
تَعَـٰلَىٰ
Exalted is
جَدُّ
(the) Majesty
رَبِّنَا
(of) our Lord
مَا
not
ٱتَّخَذَ
He has taken
صَـٰحِبَةً
a wife
وَلَا
and not
وَلَدًا
a son
٣
And [it teaches] that exalted is the nobleness of our Lord; He has not taken a wife or a son
72:4
وَأَنَّهُۥ
And that he
كَانَ
used to
يَقُولُ
speak
سَفِيهُنَا
the foolish among us
عَلَى
against
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
شَطَطًا
an excessive transgression
٤
And that our foolish one [i.e., Iblees]1 has been saying about Allāh an excessive transgression.
72:5
وَأَنَّا
And that we
ظَنَنَّآ
thought
أَن
that
لَّن
never
تَقُولَ
will say
ٱلۡإِنسُ
the men
وَٱلۡجِنُّ
and the jinn
عَلَى
against
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
كَذِبًا
any lie
٥
And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allāh a lie.
72:6
وَأَنَّهُۥ
And that
كَانَ
(there) were
رِجَالٌ
men
مِّنَ
among
ٱلۡإِنسِ
mankind
يَعُوذُونَ
who sought refuge
بِرِجَالٍ
in (the) men
مِّنَ
from
ٱلۡجِنِّ
the jinn
فَزَادُوهُمۡ
so they increased them
رَهَقًا
(in) burden
٦
And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden [i.e., sin].
72:7
وَأَنَّهُمۡ
And that they
ظَنُّواۡ
thought
كَمَا
as
ظَنَنتُمۡ
you thought
أَن
that
لَّن
never
يَبۡعَثَ
will raise
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
أَحَدًا
anyone
٧
And they had thought, as you thought, that Allāh would never send anyone [as a messenger].
72:8
وَأَنَّا
And that we
لَمَسۡنَا
sought to touch
ٱلسَّمَآءَ
the heaven
فَوَجَدۡنَـٰهَا
but we found it
مُلِئَتۡ
filled (with)
حَرَسًا
guards
شَدِيدًا
severe
وَشُهُبًا
and flaming fires
٨
And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames.
72:9
وَأَنَّا
And that we
كُنَّا
used to
نَقۡعُدُ
sit
مِنۡهَا
there in
مَقَـٰعِدَ
positions
لِلسَّمۡعِ‌ۖ
for hearing
فَمَن
but (he) who
يَسۡتَمِعِ
listens
ٱلۡأَنَ
now
يَجِدۡ
will find
لَهُۥ
for him
شِهَابًا
a flaming fire
رَّصَدًا
waiting
٩
And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing,1 but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him.
72:10
وَأَنَّا
And that we
لَا
not
نَدۡرِىٓ
we know
أَشَرٌّ
whether evil
أُرِيدَ
is intended
بِمَن
for (those) who
فِى
(are) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
أَمۡ
or
أَرَادَ
intends
بِهِمۡ
for them
رَبُّهُمۡ
their Lord
رَشَدًا
a right path
١٠
And we do not know [therefore] whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Lord intends for them a right course.
72:11
وَأَنَّا
And that [we]
مِنَّا
among us
ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ

ذٰلِكَ‌ۖ
that
كُنَّا
We
طَرَآئِقَ

قِدَدًا
different
١١
And among us are the righteous, and among us are [others] not so; we were [of] divided ways.1
72:12
وَأَنَّا
And that we
ظَنَنَّآ
[we] have become certain
أَن
that
لَّن
never
نُّعۡجِزَ
we will cause failure
ٱللَّهَ
(to) Allah
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
وَلَن
and never
نُّعۡجِزَهُۥ
we can escape Him
هَرَبًا
(by) flight
١٢
And we have become certain that we will never cause failure to Allāh upon earth, nor can we escape Him by flight.
72:13
وَأَنَّا
And that [we]
لَمَّا
when
سَمِعۡنَا
we heard
ٱلۡهُدَىٰٓ
the Guidance

believes
بِرَبِّهِۦ
in his Lord
فَلَا
then not
يَخَافُ
he will fear
بَخۡسًا
any loss
وَلَا
and not
رَهَقًا
any burden
١٣
And when we heard the guidance [i.e., the Qur’ān], we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden.1
72:14
وَأَنَّا
And that we
مِنَّا
among us

١٤
And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allāh], and among us are the unjust.1 And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course.
72:15
وَأَمَّا
And as for
ٱلۡقَـٰسِطُونَ
the unjust
فَكَانُواۡ
they will be

١٥
But as for the unjust, they will be, for Hell, firewood.'
72:16
وَأَلَّوِ
And that if
ٱسۡتَقَـٰمُواۡ
they had remained
عَلَى
on
ٱلطَّرِيقَةِ
the Way
لَأَسۡقَيۡنَـٰهُم
surely We (would) have given them to drink
مَّآءً
water
غَدَقًا
(in) abundance
١٦
And [Allāh revealed] that if they had remained straight on the way, We would have given them abundant rain [i.e., provision].
72:17
لِّنَفۡتِنَهُمۡ
That We might test them
فِيهِ‌ۚ
therein
وَمَن

He will make him enter
عَذَابًا

severe
١٧
So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord1 He will put into arduous punishment.
72:18

١٩
And that when the Servant [i.e., Prophet] of Allāh stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass."1

Say, "Indeed, I do not possess for you [the power of] harm or right direction."
72:22
قُلۡ

٢٣
But [I have for you] only notification from Allāh, and His messages." And whoever disobeys Allāh and His Messenger - then indeed, for him is the fire of Hell; they will abide therein forever.
72:24

[The disbelievers continue] until, when they see that which they are promised, then they will know who is weaker in helpers and less in number.

Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little -

٤
Or add to it, and recite the Qur’ān with measured recitation.
73:5
إِنَّا
Indeed, We

Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word.1

٦
Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue]1 and more suitable for words.2
73:7
إِنَّ
Indeed

Indeed, for you by day is prolonged occupation.
73:8
وَٱذۡكُرِ

٨
And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion.

٩
[He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs.1
73:10
وَٱصۡبِرۡ

١٠
And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance.
73:11

١١
And leave Me with [the matter of] the deniers, those of ease [in life], and allow them respite a little.
73:12
إِنَّ
Indeed

Indeed, with Us [for them] are shackles and burning fire.

And food that chokes and a painful punishment -
73:14
يَوۡمَ
(On the) Day
تَرۡجُفُ

ٱلۡأَرۡضُ
the earth

ٱلۡجِبَالُ
the mountains
كَثِيبًا
a heap of sand
مَّهِيلاً
pouring down
١٤
On the Day the earth and the mountains will convulse and the mountains will become a heap of sand pouring down.
73:15
إِنَّآ
Indeed, We

upon you
كَمَآ
as
أَرۡسَلۡنَآ
We sent
إِلَىٰ
to
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firaun
رَسُولاً
a Messenger
١٥
Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness upon you just as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger.
73:16
فَعَصَىٰ
But disobeyed
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
Firaun
ٱلرَّسُولَ
the Messenger
فَأَخَذۡنَـٰهُ
so We seized him
أَخۡذًا
(with) a seizure

ruinous
١٦
But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure.
73:17
فَكَيۡفَ
Then how
تَتَّقُونَ
will you guard yourselves
إِن

كَفَرۡتُمۡ
you disbelieve
يَوۡمًا
a Day
يَجۡعَلُ

gray-haired
١٧
Then how can you fear, if you disbelieve, a Day that will make the children white-haired?1
73:18

Indeed, your Lord knows, [O Muḥammad], that you stand [in prayer] almost two thirds of the night or half of it or a third of it, and [so do] a group of those with you. And Allāh determines [the extent of] the night and the day. He has known that you [Muslims] will not be able to do it1 and has turned to you in forgiveness, so recite what is easy [for you] of the Qur’ān. He has known that there will be among you those who are ill and others traveling throughout the land seeking [something] of the bounty of Allāh and others fighting for the cause of Allāh. So recite what is easy from it and establish prayer and give zakāh and loan Allāh a goodly loan.2 And whatever good you put forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allāh. It is better and greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of Allāh. Indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.

74:7
وَلِرَبِّكَ
And for your Lord
فَٱصۡبِرۡ
be patient
٧
But for your Lord be patient.
74:8
فَإِذَا
Then when
نُقِرَ
is blown
فِى
in
ٱلنَّاقُورِ
the trumpet
٨
And when the trumpet is blown,
74:9
فَذٰلِكَ
That
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
Day
يَوۡمٌ
(will be) a Day
عَسِيرٌ
difficult
٩
That Day will be a difficult day
74:10
عَلَى
For
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
the disbelievers
غَيۡرُ
not
يَسِيرٍ
easy
١٠
For the disbelievers - not easy.
74:11
ذَرۡنِى
Leave Me
وَمَنۡ
and whom
خَلَقۡتُ
I created
وَحِيدًا
alone
١١
Leave Me with the one I created alone1
74:12
وَجَعَلۡتُ
And I granted
لَهُۥ
to him
مَالاً
wealth
مَّمۡدُودًا
extensive
١٢
And to whom I granted extensive wealth
74:13
وَبَنِينَ
And children
شُهُودًا
present
١٣
And children present [with him]
74:14
وَمَهَّدتُّ
And I spread
لَهُۥ
for him
تَمۡهِيدًا
ease
١٤
And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life].
74:15
ثُمَّ
Then
يَطۡمَعُ
he desires
أَنۡ
that
أَزِيدَ
I (should) add more
١٥
Then he desires that I should add more.
74:16
كَلَّآ‌ۖ
By no means
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, he
كَانَ
has been
لِأَيَـٰتِنَا
to Our Verses
عَنِيدًا
stubborn
١٦
No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate.
74:17
سَأُرۡهِقُهُۥ
Soon I will cover Him
صَعُودًا
(with) a laborious punishment
١٧
I will cover him with arduous torment.
74:18
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, he
فَكَّرَ
thought
وَقَدَّرَ
and plotted
١٨
Indeed, he thought and deliberated.1
74:19
فَقُتِلَ
So may he be destroyed
كَيۡفَ
how
قَدَّرَ
he plotted
١٩
So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated.
74:20
ثُمَّ
Then
قُتِلَ
may he be destroyed
كَيۡفَ
how
قَدَّرَ
he plotted
٢٠
Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated.
74:21
ثُمَّ
Then
نَظَرَ
he looked
٢١
Then he considered [again];
74:22
ثُمَّ
Then
عَبَسَ
he frowned
وَبَسَرَ
and scowled
٢٢
Then he frowned and scowled;
74:23
ثُمَّ
Then
أَدۡبَرَ
he turned back
وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرَ
and was proud
٢٣
Then he turned back and was arrogant
74:24
فَقَالَ
Then he said
إِنۡ
Not
هَـٰذَآ
(is) this
إِلَّا
but
سِحۡرٌ
magic
يُؤۡثَرُ
imitated
٢٤
And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others].
74:25
إِنۡ
Not
هَـٰذَآ

قَوۡلُ
(the) word
ٱلۡبَشَرِ

٢٥
This is not but the word of a human being."
74:26
سَأُصۡلِيهِ
Soon I will drive him
سَقَرَ
(into) Hell
٢٦
I will drive him into Saqar.1
74:27
وَمَآ
And what
أَدۡرَٮٰكَ
can make you know
مَا
what
سَقَرُ
(is) Hell
٢٧
And what can make you know what is Saqar?
74:28
لَا
Not
تُبۡقِى
it lets remain
وَلَا
and not
تَذَرُ
it leaves
٢٨
It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned],
74:29
لَوَّاحَةٌ
Scorching
لِّلۡبَشَرِ
the human (skin)
٢٩
Altering [i.e., blackening] the skins.
74:30
عَلَيۡهَا
Over it
تِسۡعَةَ
(are) nine
عَشَرَ
teen
٣٠
Over it are nineteen [angels].
74:31
وَمَا
And not
جَعَلۡنَآ
We have made
أَصۡحَـٰبَ
keepers
ٱلنَّارِ
(of) the Fire
إِلَّا
except
مَلَـٰٓئِكَةً‌ۙ
Angels
وَمَا
And not
جَعَلۡنَا
We have made
عِدَّتَهُمۡ
their number
إِلَّا
except
فِتۡنَةً
(as) a trial
لِّلَّذِينَ
for those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
لِيَسۡتَيۡقِنَ
that may be certain
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
أُوتُواۡ
were given
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ
the Scripture
وَيَزۡدَادَ
and may increase
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ءَامَنُوٓاۡ
believe
إِيمَـٰنًا‌ۙ
(in) faith
وَلَا

يَرۡتَابَ
may doubt
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
أُوتُواۡ
were given
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ
the Scripture

and that may say
ٱلَّذِينَ
those

قُلُوبِهِم
their hearts
مَّرَضٌ

What
أَرَادَ

ٱللَّهُ
Allah
بِهَـٰذَا
by this
مَثَلاً‌ۚ
example
كَذٰلِكَ
Thus
يُضِلُّ
does let go astray
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
مَن
whom
يَشَآءُ
He wills
وَيَهۡدِى
and guides
مَن
whom
يَشَآءُ‌ۚ
He wills
وَمَا
And none
يَعۡلَمُ
knows
جُنُودَ
(the) hosts
رَبِّكَ
(of) your Lord
إِلَّا
except
هُوَ‌ۚ
Him
وَمَا
And not
هِىَ
it
إِلَّا
(is) but
ذِكۡرَىٰ
a reminder
لِلۡبَشَرِ
to (the) human beings
٣١
And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is disease [i.e., hypocrisy] and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allāh intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allāh send astray whom He wills and guide whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And it [i.e., mention of the Fire] is not but a reminder to humanity.
74:32

إِنَّهَا
Indeed, it
لَإِحۡدَى

ٱلۡكُبَرِ

٣٥
Indeed, it [i.e., the Fire] is of the greatest [afflictions].
74:36
نَذِيرًا
A warning
لِّلۡبَشَرِ
to (the) human being
٣٦
As a warning to humanity -

To whoever wills among you to proceed1 or stay behind.

Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained1.
74:39

Except the companions of the right,1.

إِمَّا
whether
شَاكِرًا
(he) be grateful
وَإِمَّا
and whether
كَفُورًا
(he) be ungrateful
٣
Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful.
76:4
إِنَّآ
Indeed, We
أَعۡتَدۡنَا
[We] have prepared
لِلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
for the disbelievers
سَلَـٰسِلَاۡ
chains
وَأَغۡلَـٰلاً
and shackles
وَسَعِيرًا
and a Blazing Fire
٤
Indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers chains and shackles and a blaze.
76:5
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ
the righteous
يَشۡرَبُونَ
will drink
مِن
from
كَأۡسٍ
a cup
كَانَ
is
مِزَاجُهَا
its mixture
كَافُورًا
(of) Kafur
٥
Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of Kāfūr,1
76:6
عَيۡنًا
A spring
يَشۡرَبُ
will drink
بِهَا
from it
عِبَادُ
(the) slaves
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
يُفَجِّرُونَهَا
causing it to gush forth
تَفۡجِيرًا
abundantly
٦
A spring of which the [righteous] servants of Allāh will drink; they will make it gush forth in force [and abundance].
76:7
يُوفُونَ
They fulfill
بِٱلنَّذۡرِ
the vows
وَيَخَافُونَ
and fear
يَوۡمًا
a Day
كَانَ
(which) is
شَرُّهُۥ
its evil
مُسۡتَطِيرًا
widespread
٧
They [are those who] fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread.
76:8
وَيُطۡعِمُونَ
And they feed
ٱلطَّعَامَ
the food
عَلَىٰ
in spite of
حُبِّهِۦ
love (for) it
مِسۡكِينًا
(to the) needy
وَيَتِيمًا
and (the) orphan
وَأَسِيرًا
and (the) captive
٨
And they give food in spite of love for it1 to the needy, the orphan, and the captive,
76:9
إِنَّمَا
Only
نُطۡعِمُكُمۡ
we feed you
لِوَجۡهِ
for (the) Countenance
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
لَا
Not
نُرِيدُ
we desire
مِنكُمۡ
from you
جَزَآءً
any reward
وَلَا
and not
شُكُورًا
thanks
٩
[Saying], "We feed you only for the face [i.e., approval] of Allāh. We wish not from you reward or gratitude.
76:10
إِنَّا
Indeed, we
نَخَافُ
fear
مِن
from
رَّبِّنَا
our Lord
يَوۡمًا
a Day
عَبُوسًا
harsh
قَمۡطَرِيرًا
and distressful
١٠
Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful."
76:11
فَوَقَـٰهُمُ
But will protect them
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
شَرَّ
(from the) evil
ذٰلِكَ
(of) that
ٱلۡيَوۡمِ
Day
وَلَقَّـٰهُمۡ
and will cause them to meet
نَضۡرَةً
radiance
وَسُرُورًا
and happiness
١١
So Allāh will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness
76:12
وَجَزَٮٰهُم
And will reward them
بِمَا
because
صَبَرُواۡ
they were patient
جَنَّةً
(with) a Garden
وَحَرِيرًا
and silk
١٢
And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments].
76:13
مُّتَّكِــِٔينَ
Reclining
فِيهَا
therein
عَلَى
on
ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِ‌ۖ
couches
لَا
Not
يَرَوۡنَ
they will see
فِيهَا
therein
شَمۡسًا
sun
وَلَا
and not
زَمۡهَرِيرًا
freezing cold
١٣
[They will be] reclining therein on adorned couches. They will not see therein any [burning] sun or [freezing] cold.
76:14
وَدَانِيَةً
And near
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
above them
ظِلَـٰلُهَا
(are) its shades
وَذُلِّلَتۡ
and will hang low
قُطُوفُهَا
its cluster of fruits
تَذۡلِيلاً
dangling low
١٤
And near above them are its shades, and its [fruit] to be picked will be lowered in compliance.
76:15
وَيُطَافُ
And will be circulated
عَلَيۡهِم
among them
بِـَٔـانِيَةٍ
vessels
مِّن
of
فِضَّةٍ
silver
وَأَكۡوَابٍ
and cups
كَانَتۡ
(that) are
قَوَارِيرَاۡ
(of) crystal
١٥
And there will be circulated among them vessels of silver and cups having been [created] clear [as glass],
76:16
قَوَارِيرَاۡ
Crystal-clear
مِن
of
فِضَّةٍ
silver
قَدَّرُوهَا
They will determine its
تَقۡدِيرًا
measure
١٦
Clear glasses [made] from silver of which they have determined the measure.
76:17
وَيُسۡقَوۡنَ
And they will be given to drink
فِيهَا
therein
كَأۡسًا
a cup
كَانَ
is
مِزَاجُهَا
its mixture
زَنجَبِيلاً
(of) Zanjabil
١٧
And they will be given to drink a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of ginger
76:18
عَيۡنًا
A spring
فِيهَا
therein
تُسَمَّىٰ
named
سَلۡسَبِيلاً
Salsabil
١٨
[From] a fountain within it [i.e., Paradise] named Salsabeel.
76:19
۞وَيَطُوفُ
And will circulate
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
among them
وِلۡدٰنٌ
young boys
مُّخَلَّدُونَ
made eternal
إِذَا
When
رَأَيۡتَهُمۡ
you see them
حَسِبۡتَهُمۡ
you would think them
لُؤۡلُؤًا
(to be) pearls
مَّنثُورًا
scattered
١٩
There will circulate among them young boys made eternal. When you see them, you would think them [as beautiful as] scattered pearls.
76:20
وَإِذَا
And when
رَأَيۡتَ
you look
ثَمَّ
then
رَأَيۡتَ
you will see
نَعِيمًا
blessings
وَمُلۡكًا
and a kingdom
كَبِيرًا
great
٢٠
And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion.
76:21
عَـٰلِيَهُمۡ
Upon them
ثِيَابُ
(will be) garments
سُندُسٍ
(of) fine silk
خُضۡرٌ
green
وَإِسۡتَبۡرَقٌ‌ۖ
and heavy brocade
وَحُلُّوٓاۡ
And they will be adorned
أَسَاوِرَ
(with) bracelets
مِن
of
فِضَّةٍ
silver
وَسَقَـٰهُمۡ
and will give them to drink
رَبُّهُمۡ
their Lord
شَرَابًا
a drink
طَهُورًا
pure
٢١
Upon them [i.e., the inhabitants] will be green garments of fine silk and brocade. And they will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a purifying drink.
76:22
إِنَّ
Indeed
هَـٰذَا
this
كَانَ
is
لَكُمۡ
for you
جَزَآءً
a reward
وَكَانَ
and has been
سَعۡيُكُم
your effort
مَّشۡكُورًا
appreciated
٢٢
[And it will be said], "Indeed, this is for you a reward, and your effort has been appreciated."
76:23
إِنَّا
Indeed, We
نَحۡنُ
[We]
نَزَّلۡنَا
[We] revealed
عَلَيۡكَ
to you
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ
the Quran
تَنزِيلاً
progressively
٢٣
Indeed, it is We who have sent down to you, [O Muḥammad], the Qur’ān progressively.
76:24
فَٱصۡبِرۡ
So be patient
لِحُكۡمِ
for (the) Command
رَبِّكَ
(of) your Lord
وَلَا
and (do) not
تُطِعۡ
obey
مِنۡهُمۡ
from them
ءَاثِمًا
any sinner
أَوۡ
or
كَفُورًا
disbeliever
٢٤
So be patient for the decision of your Lord and do not obey from among them a sinner or ungrateful [disbeliever].
76:25
وَٱذۡكُرِ
And remember
ٱسۡمَ
(the) name
رَبِّكَ
(of) your Lord
بُكۡرَةً
morning
وَأَصِيلاً
and evening
٢٥
And mention the name of your Lord [in prayer] morning and evening
76:26
وَمِنَ
And of
ٱلَّيۡلِ
the night
فَٱسۡجُدۡ
prostrate
لَهُۥ
to Him
وَسَبِّحۡهُ
and glorify Him
لَيۡلاً
a night
طَوِيلاً
long
٢٦
And during the night prostrate to Him and exalt [i.e., praise] Him a long [part of the] night.
76:27
إِنَّ
Indeed
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
these
يُحِبُّونَ
love
ٱلۡعَاجِلَةَ
the immediate
وَيَذَرُونَ
and leave
وَرَآءَهُمۡ
behind them
يَوۡمًا
a Day
ثَقِيلاً
grave
٢٧
Indeed, these [disbelievers] love the immediate and leave behind them1 a grave Day.
76:28
نَّحۡنُ
We
خَلَقۡنَـٰهُمۡ
created them
وَشَدَدۡنَآ
and We strengthened
أَسۡرَهُمۡ‌ۖ
their forms
وَإِذَا
and when
شِئۡنَا
We will
بَدَّلۡنَآ
We can change
أَمۡثَـٰلَهُمۡ
their likeness[es]
تَبۡدِيلاً
(with) a change
٢٨
We have created them and strengthened their forms, and when We will, We can change their likenesses with [complete] alteration.
76:29
إِنَّ
Indeed
هَـٰذِهِۦ
this
تَذۡكِرَةٌ‌ۖ
(is) a reminder
فَمَن
so whoever
شَآءَ
wills
ٱتَّخَذَ
let him take
إِلَىٰ
to
رَبِّهِۦ
his Lord
سَبِيلاً
a way
٢٩
Indeed, this is a reminder, so he who wills may take to his Lord a way.
76:30
وَمَا
And not
تَشَآءُونَ
you will
إِلَّآ
except
أَن
that
يَشَآءَ
wills
ٱللَّهُ‌ۚ
Allah
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
كَانَ
is
عَلِيمًا
All-Knower
حَكِيمًا
All-Wise
٣٠
And you do not will except that Allāh wills. Indeed, Allāh is ever Knowing and Wise.
76:31
يُدۡخِلُ
He admits
مَن
whom
يَشَآءُ
He wills
فِى
into
رَحۡمَتِهِۦ‌ۚ
His mercy
وَٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
but (for) the wrongdoers
أَعَدَّ
He has prepared
لَهُمۡ
for them
عَذَابًا
a punishment
أَلِيمَۢا
painful
٣١
He admits whom He wills into His mercy; but the wrongdoers - He has prepared for them a painful punishment.
77:1
وَٱلۡمُرۡسَلَـٰتِ
By the ones sent forth
عُرۡفًا
one after another
١
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts
77:2
فَٱلۡعَـٰصِفَـٰتِ
And the winds that blow
عَصۡفًا
violently
٢
And the winds that blow violently
77:3
وَٱلنَّـٰشِرٰتِ
And the ones that scatter
نَشۡرًا
far and wide
٣
And [by] the winds that spread [clouds]
77:4
فَٱلۡفَـٰرِقَـٰتِ
And those who separate
فَرۡقًا
(by the) Criterion
٤
And those [angels] who bring criterion1
77:5
فَٱلۡمُلۡقِيَـٰتِ
And those who bring down
ذِكۡرًا
(the) Reminder
٥
And those [angels] who deliver a message.
77:6
عُذۡرًا
(As) justification
أَوۡ
or
نُذۡرًا
warning
٦
As justification or warning,
77:7
إِنَّمَا
Indeed, what
تُوعَدُونَ
you are promised
لَوٰقِعٌ
will surely occur
٧
Indeed, what you are promised is to occur.
77:8
فَإِذَا
So when
ٱلنُّجُومُ
the stars
طُمِسَتۡ
are obliterated
٨
So when the stars are obliterated
77:9
وَإِذَا
And when
ٱلسَّمَآءُ
the heaven
فُرِجَتۡ
is cleft asunder
٩
And when the heaven is opened
77:10
وَإِذَا
And when
ٱلۡجِبَالُ
the mountains
نُسِفَتۡ
are blown away
١٠
And when the mountains are blown away
77:11
وَإِذَا
And when
ٱلرُّسُلُ
the Messengers
أُقِّتَتۡ
are gathered to their appointed time
١١
And when the messengers' time has come...1
77:12
لِأَىِّ
For what
يَوۡمٍ
Day
أُجِّلَتۡ
are (these) postponed
١٢
For what Day was it postponed?1
77:13
لِيَوۡمِ
For (the) Day
ٱلۡفَصۡلِ
(of) Judgment
١٣
For the Day of Judgement.
77:14
وَمَآ
And what
أَدۡرَٮٰكَ
will make you know
مَا
what
يَوۡمُ
(is the) Day
ٱلۡفَصۡلِ
(of) the Judgment
١٤
And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement?
77:15
وَيۡلٌ
Woe
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
to the deniers
١٥
Woe,1 that Day, to the deniers.
77:16
أَلَمۡ
Did not
نُهۡلِكِ
We destroy
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
the former (people)
١٦
Did We not destroy the former peoples?
77:17
ثُمَّ
Then
نُتۡبِعُهُمُ
We follow them up
ٱلۡأَخِرِينَ
(with) the later ones
١٧
Then We will follow them with the later ones.
77:18
كَذٰلِكَ
Thus
نَفۡعَلُ
We deal
بِٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
with the criminals
١٨
Thus do We deal with the criminals.
77:19
وَيۡلٌ
Woe
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
to the deniers
١٩
Woe, that Day, to the deniers.
77:20
أَلَمۡ
Did not
نَخۡلُقكُّم
We create you
مِّن
from
مَّآءٍ
a water
مَّهِينٍ
despicable
٢٠
Did We not create you from a liquid disdained?
77:21
فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُ
Then We placed it
فِى
in
قَرَارٍ
an abode
مَّكِينٍ
safe
٢١
And We placed it in a firm lodging [i.e., the womb]
77:22
إِلَىٰ
For
قَدَرٍ
a period
مَّعۡلُومٍ
known
٢٢
For a known extent.
77:23
فَقَدَرۡنَا
So We measured
فَنِعۡمَ
and Best
ٱلۡقَـٰدِرُونَ
(are We to) measure
٢٣
And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine.
77:24
وَيۡلٌ
Woe
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
to the deniers
٢٤
Woe, that Day, to the deniers.
77:25
أَلَمۡ
Have not
نَجۡعَلِ
We made
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
the earth
كِفَاتًا
a receptacle
٢٥
Have We not made the earth a container
77:26
أَحۡيَآءً
(For the) living
وَأَمۡوٰتًا
and (the) dead
٢٦
Of the living and the dead?
77:27
وَجَعَلۡنَا
And We made
فِيهَا
therein
رَوٰسِىَ
firmly set mountains
شَـٰمِخَـٰتٍ
lofty
وَأَسۡقَيۡنَـٰكُم
and We gave you to drink
مَّآءً
water
فُرَاتًا
sweet
٢٧
And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water.
77:28
وَيۡلٌ
Woe
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
to the deniers
٢٨
Woe, that Day, to the deniers.
77:29
ٱنطَلِقُوٓاۡ
Proceed
إِلَىٰ
to
مَا
what
كُنتُم
you used to
بِهِۦ
in it
تُكَذِّبُونَ
deny
٢٩
[They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny.
77:30
ٱنطَلِقُوٓاۡ
Proceed
إِلَىٰ
to
ظِلٍّ
a shadow
ذِى
having
ثَلَـٰثِ
three
شُعَبٍ
columns
٣٠
Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns.
77:31
لَّا
No
ظَلِيلٍ
cool shade
وَلَا
and not
يُغۡنِى
availing
مِنَ
against
ٱللَّهَبِ
the flame
٣١
[But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame."
77:32
إِنَّهَا
Indeed, it
تَرۡمِى
throws up
بِشَرَرٍ
sparks
كَٱلۡقَصۡرِ
as the fortress
٣٢
Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress,
77:33
كَأَنَّهُۥ
As if they (were)
جِمَـٰلَتٌ
camels
صُفۡرٌ
yellow
٣٣
As if they were yellowish [black] camels.
77:34
وَيۡلٌ
Woe
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
to the deniers
٣٤
Woe, that Day, to the deniers.
77:35
هَـٰذَا
This
يَوۡمُ
(is) a Day
لَا
not
يَنطِقُونَ
they will speak
٣٥
This is a Day they will not speak,
77:36
وَلَا
And not
يُؤۡذَنُ
will it be permitted
لَهُمۡ
for them
فَيَعۡتَذِرُونَ
to make excuses
٣٦
Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse.
77:37
وَيۡلٌ
Woe
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
to the deniers
٣٧
Woe, that Day, to the deniers.
77:38
هَـٰذَا
This
يَوۡمُ
(is the) Day
ٱلۡفَصۡلِ‌ۖ
(of) Judgment
جَمَعۡنَـٰكُمۡ
We have gathered you
وَٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
and the former (people)
٣٨
This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples.
77:39
فَإِن
So if
كَانَ
is
لَكُمۡ
for you
كَيۡدٌ
a plan
فَكِيدُونِ
then plan against Me
٣٩
So if you have a plan, then plan against Me.
77:40
وَيۡلٌ
Woe
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
to the deniers
٤٠
Woe, that Day, to the deniers.
77:41
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
the righteous
فِى
(will be) in
ظِلَـٰلٍ
shades
وَعُيُونٍ
and springs
٤١
Indeed, the righteous will be among shades and springs
77:42
وَفَوٰكِهَ
And fruits
مِمَّا
from what
يَشۡتَهُونَ
they desire
٤٢
And fruits from whatever they desire,
77:43
كُلُواۡ
Eat
وَٱشۡرَبُواۡ
and drink
هَنِيٓـــَٔۢا
(in) satisfaction
بِمَا
for what
كُنتُمۡ
you used to
تَعۡمَلُونَ
do
٤٣
[Being told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do."
77:44
إِنَّا
Indeed, We
كَذٰلِكَ
thus
نَجۡزِى
reward
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
the good-doers
٤٤
Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.
77:45
وَيۡلٌ
Woe
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
to the deniers
٤٥
Woe, that Day, to the deniers.
77:46
كُلُواۡ
Eat
وَتَمَتَّعُواۡ
and enjoy yourselves
قَلِيلاً
a little
إِنَّكُم
indeed, you
مُّجۡرِمُونَ
(are) criminals
٤٦
[O disbelievers], eat and enjoy yourselves a little; indeed, you are criminals.
77:47
وَيۡلٌ
Woe
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
to the deniers
٤٧
Woe, that Day, to the deniers.
77:48
وَإِذَا
And when
قِيلَ
it is said
لَهُمُ
to them
ٱرۡكَعُواۡ
Bow
لَا
not
يَرۡكَعُونَ
they bow
٤٨
And when it is said to them, "Bow [in prayer]," they do not bow.
77:49
وَيۡلٌ
Woe
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
to the deniers
٤٩
Woe, that Day, to the deniers.
77:50
فَبِأَىِّ
Then in what
حَدِيثِۭ
statement
بَعۡدَهُۥ
after it
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
will they believe
٥٠
Then in what statement after it [i.e., the Qur’ān] will they believe?
