جزء 25

5 Surahs246 Versesجزء 25
41:47
۞إِلَيۡهِ
To Him
يُرَدُّ
is referred
عِلۡمُ
(the) knowledge
ٱلسَّاعَةِ‌ۚ
(of) the Hour
وَمَا
And not
تَخۡرُجُ
comes out
مِن
any
ثَمَرٰتٍ
fruits
مِّنۡ
from
أَكۡمَامِهَا
their coverings
وَمَا
and not
تَحۡمِلُ
bears
مِنۡ
any
أُنثَىٰ
female
وَلَا
and not
تَضَعُ
gives birth
إِلَّا
except
بِعِلۡمِهِۦ‌ۚ
with His knowledge
وَيَوۡمَ
And (the) Day
يُنَادِيهِمۡ
He will call them
أَيۡنَ
Where (are)
شُرَكَآءِى
My partners
قَالُوٓاۡ
They will say
ءَاذَنَّـٰكَ
We announce (to) You
مَا
not
مِنَّا
among us
مِن
any
شَهِيدٍ
witness
٤٧
To Him [alone] is attributed knowledge of the Hour. And fruits emerge not from their coverings nor does a female conceive or give birth except with His knowledge. And the Day He will call to them, "Where are My 'partners'?" they will say, "We announce to You that there is [no longer] among us any witness [to that]."
41:48
وَضَلَّ
And lost
عَنۡهُم
from them
مَّا
what
كَانُواۡ
they were
يَدۡعُونَ
invoking
مِن
before
قَبۡلُ‌ۖ
before
وَظَنُّواۡ
and they (will) be certain
مَا
(that) not
لَهُم
for them
مِّن
any
مَّحِيصٍ
place of escape
٤٨
And lost from them will be those they were invoking before, and they will be certain that they have no place of escape.
41:49
لَّا
(Does) not
يَسۡــَٔمُ
get tired
ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنُ
man
مِن
of
دُعَآءِ
praying
ٱلۡخَيۡرِ
(for) the good
وَإِن
but if
مَّسَّهُ
touches him
ٱلشَّرُّ
the evil
فَيَــُٔوسٌ
then he gives up hope
قَنُوطٌ
(and) despairs
٤٩
Man is not weary of supplication for good [things], but if evil touches him, he is hopeless and despairing.
41:50
وَلَئِنۡ
And verily, if
أَذَقۡنَـٰهُ
We let him taste
رَحۡمَةً
mercy
مِّنَّا
from Us
مِنۢ
after
بَعۡدِ
after
ضَرَّآءَ
an adversity
مَسَّتۡهُ
(has) touched him
لَيَقُولَنَّ
he will surely say
هَـٰذَا
This (is)
لِى
(due) to me
وَمَآ
and not
أَظُنُّ
I think
ٱلسَّاعَةَ
the Hour
قَآئِمَةً
(will be) established
وَلَئِن
and if
رُّجِعۡتُ
I am returned
إِلَىٰ
to
رَبِّىٓ
my Lord
إِنَّ
indeed
لِى
for me
عِندَهُۥ
with Him
لَلۡحُسۡنَىٰ‌ۚ
(will be) the best
فَلَنُنَبِّئَنَّ
But We will surely inform
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieved
بِمَا
about what
عَمِلُواۡ
they did
وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُم
and We will surely make them taste
مِّنۡ
of
عَذَابٍ
a punishment
غَلِيظٍ
severe
٥٠
And if We let him taste mercy from Us after an adversity which has touched him, he will surely say, "This is [due] to me,1 and I do not think the Hour will occur; and [even] if I should be returned to my Lord, indeed, for me there will be with Him the best." But We will surely inform those who disbelieved about what they did, and We will surely make them taste a massive punishment.
41:51
وَإِذَآ
And when
أَنۡعَمۡنَا
We bestow favor
عَلَى
upon
ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنِ
man
أَعۡرَضَ
he turns away
وَنَـَٔـا
and distances himself
بِجَانِبِهِۦ
and distances himself
وَإِذَا
but when
مَسَّهُ
touches him
ٱلشَّرُّ
the evil
فَذُو
then (he is) full
دُعَآءٍ
(of) supplication
عَرِيضٍ
lengthy
٥١
And when We bestow favor upon man, he turns away and distances himself; but when evil touches him, then he is full of extensive supplication.
41:52
قُلۡ
Say
أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ
You see
إِن
if
كَانَ
it is
مِنۡ
from
عِندِ
from
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
ثُمَّ
then
كَفَرۡتُم
you disbelieve
بِهِۦ
in it
مَنۡ
who
أَضَلُّ
(is) more astray
مِمَّنۡ
than (one) who
هُوَ
he
فِى
(is) in
شِقَاقِۭ
opposition
بَعِيدٍ
far
٥٢
Say, "Have you considered: if it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is from Allāh and you disbelieved in it, who would be more astray than one who is in extreme dissension?"
41:53
سَنُرِيهِمۡ
Soon We will show them
ءَايَـٰتِنَا
Our Signs
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَفَاقِ
the horizons
وَفِىٓ
and in
أَنفُسِهِمۡ
themselves
حَتَّىٰ
until
يَتَبَيَّنَ
becomes clear
لَهُمۡ
to them
أَنَّهُ
that it
ٱلۡحَقُّ‌ۗ
(is) the truth
أَوَلَمۡ
Is (it) not
يَكۡفِ
sufficient
بِرَبِّكَ
concerning your Lord
أَنَّهُۥ
that He
عَلَىٰ
(is) over
كُلِّ
all
شَىۡءٍ
things
شَهِيدٌ
a Witness
٥٣
We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth.1 But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness?2
41:54
أَلَآ
Unquestionably
إِنَّهُمۡ
they
فِى
(are) in
مِرۡيَةٍ
doubt
مِّن
about
لِّقَآءِ
(the) meeting
رَبِّهِمۡ‌ۗ
(with) their Lord
أَلَآ
Unquestionably
إِنَّهُۥ
indeed, He
بِكُلِّ
(is) of all
شَىۡءٍ
things
مُّحِيطُۢ
encompassing
٥٤
Unquestionably, they are in doubt about the meeting with their Lord. Unquestionably He is, of all things, encompassing.
42:1
حمٓ
Ha Meem
١
Ḥā, Meem.
42:2
عٓسٓقٓ
Ayn Seen Qaaf
٢
ʿAyn, Seen, Qāf.1
42:3
كَذٰلِكَ
Thus
يُوحِىٓ
reveals
إِلَيۡكَ
to you
وَإِلَى
and to
ٱلَّذِينَ
those
مِن
before you
قَبۡلِكَ
before you
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
the All-Mighty
ٱلۡحَكِيمُ
the All-Wise
٣
Thus has He revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], and to those before you - Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
42:4
لَهُۥ
To Him
مَا
(belong) whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
the heavens
وَمَا
and whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۖ
the earth
وَهُوَ
and He
ٱلۡعَلِىُّ
(is) the Most High
ٱلۡعَظِيمُ
the Most Great
٤
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and He is the Most High, the Most Great.1
42:5
تَكَادُ
Almost
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتُ
the heavens
يَتَفَطَّرۡنَ
break up
مِن
from
فَوۡقِهِنَّ‌ۚ
above them
وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ
and the Angels
يُسَبِّحُونَ
glorify
بِحَمۡدِ
(the) praise
رَبِّهِمۡ
(of) their Lord
وَيَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ
and ask for forgiveness
لِمَن
for those
فِى
on
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۗ
the earth
أَلَآ
Unquestionably
إِنَّ
indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
هُوَ
He
ٱلۡغَفُورُ
(is) the Oft-Forgiving
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
the Most Merciful
٥
The heavens almost break from above them,1 and the angels exalt [Allāh] with praise of their Lord and ask forgiveness for those on earth. Unquestionably, it is Allāh who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.
42:6
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
ٱتَّخَذُواۡ
take
مِن
besides
دُونِهِۦٓ
besides
أَوۡلِيَآءَ
protectors
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
حَفِيظٌ
(is) a Guardian
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
over them
وَمَآ
and not
أَنتَ
you
عَلَيۡهِم
(are) over them
بِوَكِيلٍ
a manager
٦
And those who take as allies other than Him - Allāh is [yet] Guardian over them; and you, [O Muḥammad], are not over them a manager.
42:7
وَكَذٰلِكَ
And thus
أَوۡحَيۡنَآ
We have revealed
إِلَيۡكَ
to you
قُرۡءَانًا
a Quran
عَرَبِيًّا
(in) Arabic
لِّتُنذِرَ
that you may warn
أُمَّ
(the) mother
ٱلۡقُرَىٰ
(of) the towns
وَمَنۡ
and whoever
حَوۡلَهَا
(is) around it
وَتُنذِرَ
and warn
يَوۡمَ
(of the) Day
ٱلۡجَمۡعِ
(of) Assembly
لَا
(there is) no
رَيۡبَ
doubt
فِيهِ‌ۚ
in it
فَرِيقٌ
A party
فِى
(will be) in
ٱلۡجَنَّةِ
Paradise
وَفَرِيقٌ
and a party
فِى
in
ٱلسَّعِيرِ
the Blazing Fire
٧
And thus We have revealed to you an Arabic Qur’ān that you may warn the Mother of Cities [i.e., Makkah] and those around it1 and warn of the Day of Assembly, about which there is no doubt. A party will be in Paradise and a party in the Blaze.
42:8
وَلَوۡ
And if
شَآءَ
Allah willed
ٱللَّهُ
Allah willed
لَجَعَلَهُمۡ
He could have made them
أُمَّةً
a community
وٰحِدَةً
one
وَلَـٰكِن
but
يُدۡخِلُ
He admits
مَن
whom
يَشَآءُ
He wills
فِى
in (to)
رَحۡمَتِهِۦ‌ۚ
His Mercy
وَٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
And the wrongdoers
مَا
not
لَهُم
for them
مِّن
any
وَلِىٍّ
protector
وَلَا
and not
نَصِيرٍ
any helper
٨
And if Allāh willed, He could have made them [of] one religion, but He admits whom He wills1 into His mercy. And the wrongdoers have not any protector or helper.
42:9
أَمِ
Or
ٱتَّخَذُواۡ
have they taken
مِن
besides Him
دُونِهِۦٓ
besides Him
أَوۡلِيَآءَ‌ۖ
protectors
فَٱللَّهُ
But Allah
هُوَ
He
ٱلۡوَلِىُّ
(is) the Protector
وَهُوَ
and He
يُحۡىِ
gives life
ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ
(to) the dead
وَهُوَ
And He
عَلَىٰ
(is) on
كُلِّ
every
شَىۡءٍ
thing
قَدِيرٌ
All-Powerful
٩
Or have they taken protectors [or allies] besides Him? But Allāh - He is the Protector, and He gives life to the dead, and He is over all things competent.
42:10
وَمَا
And whatever
ٱخۡتَلَفۡتُمۡ
you differ
فِيهِ
in it
مِن
of
شَىۡءٍ
a thing
فَحُكۡمُهُۥٓ
then its ruling
إِلَى
(is) to
ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ
Allah
ذٰلِكُمُ
That
ٱللَّهُ
(is) Allah
رَبِّى
my Lord
عَلَيۡهِ
upon Him
تَوَكَّلۡتُ
I put my trust
وَإِلَيۡهِ
and to Him
أُنِيبُ
I turn
١٠
And in anything over which you disagree - its ruling is [to be referred] to Allāh. [Say], "That is Allāh, my Lord; upon Him I have relied, and to Him I turn back."1
42:11
فَاطِرُ
(The) Creator
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۚ
and the earth
جَعَلَ
He made
لَكُم
for you
مِّنۡ
from
أَنفُسِكُمۡ
yourselves
أَزۡوٰجًا
mates
وَمِنَ
and among
ٱلۡأَنۡعَـٰمِ
the cattle
أَزۡوٰجًا‌ۖ
mates
يَذۡرَؤُكُمۡ
He multiplies you
فِيهِ‌ۚ
thereby
لَيۡسَ
(There) is not
كَمِثۡلِهِۦ
like Him
شَىۡءٌ‌ۖ
anything
وَهُوَ
and He
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
(is) the All-Hearer
ٱلۡبَصِيرُ
the All-Seer
١١
[He is] Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you from yourselves, mates, and among the cattle, mates; He multiplies you thereby. There is nothing like unto Him,1 and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.2
42:12
لَهُۥ
To Him (belongs)
مَقَالِيدُ
(the) keys
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۖ
and the earth
يَبۡسُطُ
He extends
ٱلرِّزۡقَ
the provision
لِمَن
for whom
يَشَآءُ
He wills
وَيَقۡدِرُ‌ۚ
and restricts
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, He
بِكُلِّ
of every
شَىۡءٍ
thing
عَلِيمٌ
(is) All-Knower
١٢
To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. He extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. Indeed He is, of all things, Knowing.
42:13
۞شَرَعَ
He has ordained
لَكُم
for you
مِّنَ
of
ٱلدِّينِ
the religion
مَا
what
وَصَّىٰ
He enjoined
بِهِۦ
upon
نُوحًا
Nuh
وَٱلَّذِىٓ
and that which
أَوۡحَيۡنَآ
We have revealed
إِلَيۡكَ
to you
وَمَا
and what
وَصَّيۡنَا
We enjoined
بِهِۦٓ
upon
إِبۡرٰهِيمَ
Ibrahim
وَمُوسَىٰ
and Musa
وَعِيسَىٰٓ‌ۖ
and Isa
أَنۡ
To
أَقِيمُواۡ
establish
ٱلدِّينَ
the religion
وَلَا
and not
تَتَفَرَّقُواۡ
be divided
فِيهِ‌ۚ
therein
كَبُرَ
Is difficult
عَلَى
on
ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
the polytheists
مَا
what
تَدۡعُوهُمۡ
you call them
إِلَيۡهِ‌ۚ
to it
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
يَجۡتَبِىٓ
chooses
إِلَيۡهِ
for Himself
مَن
whom
يَشَآءُ
He wills
وَيَهۡدِىٓ
and guides
إِلَيۡهِ
to Himself
مَن
whoever
يُنِيبُ
turns
١٣
He has ordained for you of religion what He enjoined upon Noah and that which We have revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], and what We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus - to establish the religion and not be divided therein. Difficult for those who associate others with Allāh is that to which you invite them. Allāh chooses for Himself whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back [to Him].
42:14
وَمَا
And not
تَفَرَّقُوٓاۡ
they became divided
إِلَّا
until
مِنۢ
after
بَعۡدِ
after
مَا
[what]
جَآءَهُمُ
came to them
ٱلۡعِلۡمُ
the knowledge
بَغۡيَۢا
(out of) rivalry
بَيۡنَهُمۡ‌ۚ
among them
وَلَوۡلَا
And if not
كَلِمَةٌ
(for) a word
سَبَقَتۡ
(that) preceded
مِن
from
رَّبِّكَ
your Lord
إِلَىٰٓ
for
أَجَلٍ
a term
مُّسَمًّى
specified
لَّقُضِىَ
surely, it (would have) been settled
بَيۡنَهُمۡ‌ۚ
between them
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
أُورِثُواۡ
were made to inherit
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ
the Book
مِنۢ
after them
بَعۡدِهِمۡ
after them
لَفِى
(are) surely in
شَكٍّ
doubt
مِّنۡهُ
concerning it
مُرِيبٍ
disquieting
١٤
And they did not become divided until after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. And if not for a word1 that preceded from your Lord [postponing the penalty] until a specified time, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed, those who were granted inheritance of the Scripture after them are, concerning it, in disquieting doubt.
42:15
فَلِذٰلِكَ
So to that
فَٱدۡعُ‌ۖ
then invite
وَٱسۡتَقِمۡ
and stand firm
كَمَآ
as
أُمِرۡتَ‌ۖ
you are commanded
وَلَا
and (do) not
تَتَّبِعۡ
follow
أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡ‌ۖ
their desires
وَقُلۡ
but say
ءَامَنتُ
I believe
بِمَآ
in what
أَنزَلَ
Allah has sent down
ٱللَّهُ
Allah has sent down
مِن
of
كِتَـٰبٍ‌ۖ
(the) Book
وَأُمِرۡتُ
and I am commanded
لِأَعۡدِلَ
that I do justice
بَيۡنَكُمُ‌ۖ
between you
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
رَبُّنَا
(is) our Lord
وَرَبُّكُمۡ‌ۖ
and your Lord
لَنَآ
For us
أَعۡمَـٰلُنَا
our deeds
وَلَكُمۡ
and for you
أَعۡمَـٰلُكُمۡ‌ۖ
your deeds
لَا
(There is) no
حُجَّةَ
argument
بَيۡنَنَا
between us
وَبَيۡنَكُمُ‌ۖ
and between you
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
يَجۡمَعُ
will assemble
بَيۡنَنَا‌ۖ
[between] us
وَإِلَيۡهِ
and to Him
ٱلۡمَصِيرُ
(is) the final return
١٥
So to that [religion of Allāh] invite, [O Muḥammad],1 and remain on a right course as you are commanded and do not follow their inclinations but say, "I have believed in what Allāh has revealed of scripture [i.e., the Qur’ān], and I have been commanded to do justice among you. Allāh is our Lord and your Lord. For us are our deeds, and for you your deeds.2 There is no [need for] argument between us and you.3 Allāh will bring us together, and to Him is the [final] destination."
42:16
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
يُحَآجُّونَ
argue
فِى
concerning
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
مِنۢ
after
بَعۡدِ
after
مَا
[what]
ٱسۡتُجِيبَ
response has been made to Him
لَهُۥ
response has been made to Him
حُجَّتُهُمۡ
their argument
دَاحِضَةٌ
(is) invalid
عِندَ
with
رَبِّهِمۡ
their Lord
وَعَلَيۡهِمۡ
and upon them
غَضَبٌ
(is) wrath
وَلَهُمۡ
and for them
عَذَابٌ
(is) a punishment
شَدِيدٌ
severe
١٦
And those who argue concerning Allāh after He has been responded to1 - their argument is invalid with their Lord, and upon them is [His] wrath, and for them is a severe punishment.
42:17
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
ٱلَّذِىٓ
(is) the One Who
أَنزَلَ
(has) sent down
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ
the Book
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
in truth
وَٱلۡمِيزَانَ‌ۗ
and the Balance
وَمَا
And what
يُدۡرِيكَ
will make you know
لَعَلَّ
Perhaps
ٱلسَّاعَةَ
the Hour
قَرِيبٌ
(is) near
١٧
It is Allāh who has sent down the Book in truth and [also] the balance [i.e., justice]. And what will make you perceive? Perhaps the Hour is near.
42:18
يَسۡتَعۡجِلُ
Seek to hasten
بِهَا
[of] it
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
لَا
(do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
believe
بِهَا‌ۖ
in it
وَٱلَّذِينَ
and those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
مُشۡفِقُونَ
(are) fearful
مِنۡهَا
of it
وَيَعۡلَمُونَ
and know
أَنَّهَا
that it
ٱلۡحَقُّ‌ۗ
(is) the truth
أَلَآ
Unquestionably
إِنَّ
indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
يُمَارُونَ
dispute
فِى
concerning
ٱلسَّاعَةِ
the Hour
لَفِى
(are) certainly in
ضَلَـٰلِۭ
error
بَعِيدٍ
far
١٨
Those who do not believe in it are impatient for it,1 but those who believe are fearful of it and know that it is the truth. Unquestionably, those who dispute concerning the Hour are in extreme error.
42:19
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
لَطِيفُۢ
(is) Subtle
بِعِبَادِهِۦ
with His slaves
يَرۡزُقُ
He gives provision
مَن
(to) whom
يَشَآءُ‌ۖ
He wills
وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلۡقَوِىُّ
(is) the All-Strong
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
the All-Mighty
١٩
Allāh is Subtle1 with His servants; He gives provision to whom He wills. And He is the Powerful, the Exalted in Might.
42:20
مَن
Whoever
كَانَ
is
يُرِيدُ
desiring
حَرۡثَ
(the) harvest
ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ
(of) the Hereafter
نَزِدۡ
We increase
لَهُۥ
for him
فِى
in
حَرۡثِهِۦ‌ۖ
his harvest
وَمَن
And whoever
كَانَ
is
يُرِيدُ
desiring
حَرۡثَ
(the) harvest
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
(of) the world
نُؤۡتِهِۦ
We give him
مِنۡهَا
of it
وَمَا
but not
لَهُۥ
for him
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ
the Hereafter
مِن
any
نَّصِيبٍ
share
٢٠
Whoever desires the harvest of the Hereafter - We increase for him in his harvest [i.e., reward]. And whoever desires the harvest [i.e., benefits] of this world - We give him thereof, but there is not for him in the Hereafter any share.
42:21

And indeed
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
the wrongdoers
لَهُمۡ
for them
عَذَابٌ

أَلِيمٌ
painful
٢١
Or have they partners [i.e., other deities] who have ordained for them a religion to which Allāh has not consented? But if not for the decisive word,1 it would have been concluded between them. And indeed, the wrongdoers will have a painful punishment.
42:22
تَرَى
You will see
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
the wrongdoers
مُشۡفِقِينَ
fearful

and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
righteous deeds

رَوۡضَاتِ
flowering meadows
ٱلۡجَنَّاتِ‌ۖ

it
ٱلۡفَضۡلُ
(is) the Bounty
ٱلۡكَبِيرُ
the Great
٢٢
You will see the wrongdoers fearful of what they have earned, and it will [certainly] befall them. And those who have believed and done righteous deeds will be in lush regions of the gardens [in Paradise] having whatever they will in the presence of their Lord. That is what is the great bounty.
42:23
ذٰلِكَ
That
ٱلَّذِى

يُبَشِّرُ
Allah gives glad tidings
ٱللَّهُ
Allah gives glad tidings
عِبَادَهُ

the love
فِى

And whoever

Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
غَفُورٌ
(is) Oft-Forgiving
شَكُورٌ
All-Appreciative
٢٣
It is that of which Allāh gives good tidings to His servants who believe and do righteous deeds. Say, [O Muḥammad], "I do not ask you for it [i.e., this message] any payment [but] only good will through [i.e., due to] kinship." And whoever commits a good deed - We will increase for him good therein. Indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Appreciative.1
42:24
أَمۡ
Or
يَقُولُونَ
(do) they say
ٱفۡتَرَىٰ
He has invented

a lie
فَإِن
But if
يَشَإِ
Allah willed
ٱللَّهُ
Allah willed
يَخۡتِمۡ
He would seal
عَلَىٰ
[over]
قَلۡبِكَ‌ۗ
your heart
وَيَمۡحُ
And Allah eliminates
ٱللَّهُ
And Allah eliminates
ٱلۡبَـٰطِلَ
the falsehood
وَيُحِقُّ
and establishes
ٱلۡحَقَّ
the truth
بِكَلِمَـٰتِهِۦٓ‌ۚ
by His Words
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, He
عَلِيمُۢ
(is) All-Knowing
بِذَاتِ
of what
ٱلصُّدُورِ

٢٤
Or do they say, "He has invented about Allāh a lie"? But if Allāh willed, He could seal over your heart.1 And Allāh eliminates falsehood and establishes the truth by His words. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.
42:25
وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
يَقۡبَلُ
accepts
ٱلتَّوۡبَةَ
the repentance
عَنۡ
of
عِبَادِهِۦ
His slaves
وَيَعۡفُواۡ
and pardons
عَنِ
[of]
ٱلسَّيِّـَٔـاتِ
the evil
وَيَعۡلَمُ
and He knows
مَا
what
تَفۡعَلُونَ
you do
٢٥
And it is He who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons misdeeds, and He knows what you do.
42:26
وَيَسۡتَجِيبُ
And He answers
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe

and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
righteous deeds
وَيَزِيدُهُم
and increases (for) them
مِّن

فَضۡلِهِۦ‌ۚ
His Bounty
وَٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ
And the disbelievers
لَهُمۡ
for them
عَذَابٌ
(will be) a punishment
شَدِيدٌ
severe
٢٦
And He answers [the supplication of] those who have believed and done righteous deeds and increases [for] them from His bounty. But the disbelievers will have a severe punishment.
42:27
۞وَلَوۡ
And if
بَسَطَ
Allah extends
ٱللَّهُ
Allah extends
ٱلرِّزۡقَ
the provision
لِعِبَادِهِۦ

لَبَغَوۡاۡ
surely they would rebel
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
وَلَـٰكِن
but
يُنَزِّلُ
He sends down
بِقَدَرٍ
in (due) measure

إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, He
بِعِبَادِهِۦ
of His slaves
خَبِيرُۢ
(is) All-Aware
بَصِيرٌ
All-Seer
٢٧
And if Allāh had extended [excessively] provision for His servants, they would have committed tyranny throughout the earth. But He sends [it] down in an amount which He wills. Indeed He is, of His servants, Aware and Seeing.
42:28
وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلَّذِى

His mercy
وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلۡوَلِىُّ
(is) the Protector
ٱلۡحَمِيدُ
the Praiseworthy
٢٨
And it is He who sends down the rain after they had despaired and spreads His mercy. And He is the Protector, the Praiseworthy.
42:29
وَمِنۡ
And among
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ
His Signs

And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and earth and what He has dispersed throughout them of creatures. And He, for gathering them when He wills, is competent.
42:30

If He willed, He could still the wind, and they would remain motionless on its surface. Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.

The cause is only against the ones who wrong the people and tyrannize upon the earth without right. Those will have a painful punishment.

And you will see them being exposed to it [i.e., the Fire], humbled from humiliation, looking from [behind] a covert glance. And those who had believed will say, "Indeed, the [true] losers are the ones who lost themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, the wrongdoers are in an enduring punishment."

٤٨
But if they turn away - then We have not sent you, [O Muḥammad], over them as a guardian; upon you is only [the duty of] notification. And indeed, when We let man taste mercy from Us, he rejoices in it; but if evil afflicts him for what his hands have put forth, then indeed, man is ungrateful.

لَهُۥ
to Whom
مَا
(belongs) whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
the heavens
وَمَا
and whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۗ
the earth
أَلَآ
Unquestionably
إِلَى
To
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
تَصِيرُ
reach
ٱلۡأُمُورُ
all affairs
٥٣
The path of Allāh, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Unquestionably, to Allāh do [all] matters evolve [i.e., return].
43:1
حمٓ
Ha Meem
١
Ḥā, Meem.1
43:2
وَٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ
By the Book
ٱلۡمُبِينِ
the clear
٢
By the clear Book,
43:3
إِنَّا
Indeed, We
جَعَلۡنَـٰهُ
(have) made it
قُرۡءٰنًا
a Quran
عَرَبِيًّا
(in) Arabic
لَّعَلَّكُمۡ
so that you may
تَعۡقِلُونَ
understand
٣
Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur’ān that you might understand.
43:4
وَإِنَّهُۥ
And indeed, it
فِىٓ
(is) in
أُمِّ
(the) Mother
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ
(of) the Book
لَدَيۡنَا
with Us
لَعَلِىٌّ
surely exalted
حَكِيمٌ
full of wisdom
٤
And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book1 with Us, exalted and full of wisdom.2
43:5
أَفَنَضۡرِبُ
Then should We take away
عَنكُمُ
from you
ٱلذِّكۡرَ
the Reminder
صَفۡحًا
disregarding (you)
أَن
because
كُنتُمۡ
you are
قَوۡمًا
a people
مُّسۡرِفِينَ
transgressing
٥
Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people?
43:6
وَكَمۡ
And how many
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
مِن
of
نَّبِىٍّ
a Prophet
فِى
among
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
the former (people)
٦
And how many a prophet We sent among the former peoples,
43:7
وَمَا
And not
يَأۡتِيهِم
came to them
مِّن
any Prophet
نَّبِىٍّ
any Prophet
إِلَّا
but
كَانُواۡ
they used to
بِهِۦ
mock at him
يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
mock at him
٧
But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him.
43:8
فَأَهۡلَكۡنَآ
Then We destroyed
أَشَدَّ
stronger
مِنۡهُم
than them
بَطۡشًا
(in) power
وَمَضَىٰ
and has passed
مَثَلُ
(the) example
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
(of) the former (people)
٨
And We destroyed greater than them1 in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded.
43:9
وَلَئِن
And if
سَأَلۡتَهُم
you ask them
مَّنۡ
Who
خَلَقَ
created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ
and the earth
لَيَقُولُنَّ
They will surely say
خَلَقَهُنَّ
Created them
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
the All-Mighty
ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
the All-Knower
٩
And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing,"
43:10
ٱلَّذِى
The One Who
جَعَلَ
made
لَكُمُ
for you
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
the earth
مَهۡدًا
a bed
وَجَعَلَ
and made
لَكُمۡ
for you
فِيهَا
therein
سُبُلاً
roads
لَّعَلَّكُمۡ
so that you may
تَهۡتَدُونَ
(be) guided
١٠
[The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided
43:11
وَٱلَّذِى
And the One Who
نَزَّلَ
sends down
مِنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
مَآءَۢ
water
بِقَدَرٍ
in (due) measure
فَأَنشَرۡنَا
then We revive
بِهِۦ
with it
بَلۡدَةً
a land
مَّيۡتًا‌ۚ
dead
كَذٰلِكَ
thus
تُخۡرَجُونَ
you will be brought forth
١١
And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth -
43:12
وَٱلَّذِى
And the One Who
خَلَقَ
created
ٱلۡأَزۡوٰجَ
the pairs
كُلَّهَا
all of them
وَجَعَلَ
and made
لَكُم
for you
مِّنَ
[of]
ٱلۡفُلۡكِ
the ships
وَٱلۡأَنۡعَـٰمِ
and the cattle
مَا
what
تَرۡكَبُونَ
you ride
١٢
And who created the species, all of them, and has made for you of ships and animals those which you mount
43:13
لِتَسۡتَوُۥاۡ
That you may sit firmly
عَلَىٰ
on
ظُهُورِهِۦ
their backs
ثُمَّ
then
تَذۡكُرُواۡ
remember
نِعۡمَةَ
(the) favor
رَبِّكُمۡ
(of) your Lord
إِذَا
when
ٱسۡتَوَيۡتُمۡ
you sit firmly
عَلَيۡهِ
on them
وَتَقُولُواۡ
and say
سُبۡحَـٰنَ
Glory be (to)
ٱلَّذِى
the One Who
سَخَّرَ
(has) subjected
لَنَا
to us
هَـٰذَا
this
وَمَا
and not
كُنَّا
we were
لَهُۥ
of it
مُقۡرِنِينَ
capable
١٣
That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say, "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it.1
43:14
وَإِنَّآ
And indeed, we
إِلَىٰ
to
رَبِّنَا
our Lord
لَمُنقَلِبُونَ
will surely return
١٤
And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return."
43:15
وَجَعَلُواۡ
But they attribute
لَهُۥ
to Him
مِنۡ
from
عِبَادِهِۦ
His slaves
جُزۡءًا‌ۚ
a portion
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ
man
لَكَفُورٌ
surely (is) clearly ungrateful
مُّبِينٌ
surely (is) clearly ungrateful
١٥
But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion.1 Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful.
43:16
أَمِ
Or
ٱتَّخَذَ
has He taken
مِمَّا
of what
يَخۡلُقُ
He has created
بَنَاتٍ
daughters
وَأَصۡفَـٰكُم
and He has chosen (for) you
بِٱلۡبَنِينَ
sons
١٦
Or has He taken, out of what He has created, daughters and chosen you for [having] sons?
43:17
وَإِذَا
And when
بُشِّرَ
is given good news
أَحَدُهُم
(to) one of them
بِمَا
of what
ضَرَبَ
he sets up
لِلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ
for the Most Gracious
مَثَلاً
(as) a likeness
ظَلَّ
becomes
وَجۡهُهُۥ
his face
مُسۡوَدًّا
dark
وَهُوَ
and he
كَظِيمٌ
(is) filled with grief
١٧
And when one of them is given good tidings of that which he attributes to the Most Merciful in comparison [i.e., a daughter], his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief.
43:18
أَوَمَن
Then (is one) who
يُنَشَّؤُاۡ
is brought up
فِى
in
ٱلۡحِلۡيَةِ
ornaments
وَهُوَ
and he
فِى
in
ٱلۡخِصَامِ
the dispute
غَيۡرُ
(is) not
مُبِينٍ
clear
١٨
So is one brought up in ornaments while being during conflict unevident1 [attributed to Allāh]?
43:19
وَجَعَلُواۡ
And they made
ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ
the Angels
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
هُمۡ
themselves
عِبَـٰدُ
(are) slaves
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ
(of) the Most Gracious
إِنَـٰثًا‌ۚ
females
أَشَهِدُواۡ
Did they witness
خَلۡقَهُمۡ‌ۚ
their creation
سَتُكۡتَبُ
Will be recorded
شَهَـٰدَتُهُمۡ
their testimony
وَيُسۡــَٔلُونَ
and they will be questioned
١٩
And they described the angels, who are servants of the Most Merciful, as females. Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be recorded, and they will be questioned.
43:20
وَقَالُواۡ
And they say
لَوۡ
If
شَآءَ
had willed
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ
the Most Gracious
مَا
we would not have worshipped them
عَبَدۡنَـٰهُم‌ۗ
we would not have worshipped them
مَّا
Not
لَهُم
they have
بِذٰلِكَ
about that
مِنۡ
any
عِلۡمٍ‌ۖ
knowledge
إِنۡ
Nothing
هُمۡ
they (do)
إِلَّا
but
يَخۡرُصُونَ
lie
٢٠
And they said, "If the Most Merciful had willed, we would not have worshipped them." They have of that no knowledge. They are not but misjudging.
43:21
أَمۡ
Or
ءَاتَيۡنَـٰهُمۡ
have We given them
كِتَـٰبًا
a book
مِّن
before it
قَبۡلِهِۦ
before it
فَهُم
so they
بِهِۦ
to it
مُسۡتَمۡسِكُونَ
(are) holding fast
٢١
Or have We given them a book before it [i.e., the Qur’ān] to which they are adhering?
43:22
بَلۡ
Nay
قَالُوٓاۡ
they say
إِنَّا
Indeed, we
وَجَدۡنَآ
[we] found
ءَابَآءَنَا
our forefathers
عَلَىٰٓ
upon
أُمَّةٍ
a religion
وَإِنَّا
and indeed, we
عَلَىٰٓ
on
ءَاثَـٰرِهِم
their footsteps
مُّهۡتَدُونَ
(are) guided
٢٢
Rather, they say, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are in their footsteps [rightly] guided."
43:23
وَكَذٰلِكَ
And thus
مَآ
not
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
مِن
before you
قَبۡلِكَ
before you
فِى
in
قَرۡيَةٍ
a town
مِّن
any
نَّذِيرٍ
warner
إِلَّا
except
قَالَ
said
مُتۡرَفُوهَآ
(the) wealthy ones of it
إِنَّا
Indeed, we
وَجَدۡنَآ
[we] found
ءَابَآءَنَا
our forefathers
عَلَىٰٓ
on
أُمَّةٍ
a religion
وَإِنَّا
and indeed, we
عَلَىٰٓ
[on]
ءَاثَـٰرِهِم
their footsteps
مُّقۡتَدُونَ
(are) following
٢٣
And similarly, We did not send before you any warner into a city except that its affluent said, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are, in their footsteps, following."
43:24
۞قَـٰلَ
He said
أَوَلَوۡ
Even if
جِئۡتُكُم
I brought you
بِأَهۡدَىٰ
better guidance
مِمَّا
than what
وَجَدتُّمۡ
you found
عَلَيۡهِ
on it
ءَابَآءَكُمۡ‌ۖ
your forefathers
قَالُوٓاۡ
They said
إِنَّا
Indeed, we
بِمَآ
with what
أُرۡسِلۡتُم
you are sent
بِهِۦ
with [it]
كَـٰفِرُونَ
(are) disbelievers
٢٤
[Each warner] said, "Even if I brought you better guidance than that [religion] upon which you found your fathers?" They said, "Indeed we, in that with which you were sent, are disbelievers."
43:25
فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا
So We took retribution
مِنۡهُمۡ‌ۖ
from them
فَٱنظُرۡ
Then see
كَيۡفَ
how
كَانَ
was
عَـٰقِبَةُ
(the) end
ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
(of) the deniers
٢٥
So We took retribution from them; then see how was the end of the deniers.
43:26
وَإِذۡ
And when
قَالَ
Ibrahim Said
إِبۡرٰهِيمُ
Ibrahim Said
لِأَبِيهِ
to his father
وَقَوۡمِهِۦٓ
and his people
إِنَّنِى
Indeed, I (am)
بَرَآءٌ
disassociated
مِّمَّا
from what
تَعۡبُدُونَ
you worship
٢٦
And [mention, O Muḥammad], when Abraham said to his father and his people, "Indeed, I am disassociated from that which you worship
43:27
إِلَّا
Except
ٱلَّذِى
the One Who
فَطَرَنِى
created me
فَإِنَّهُۥ
and indeed, He
سَيَهۡدِينِ
will guide me
٢٧
Except for He who created me; and indeed, He will guide me."
43:28
وَجَعَلَهَا
And he made it
كَلِمَةَۢ
a word
بَاقِيَةً
lasting
فِى
among
عَقِبِهِۦ
his descendents
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
so that they may
يَرۡجِعُونَ
return
٢٨
And he made it1 a word remaining among his descendants that they might return [to it].
43:29
بَلۡ
Nay
مَتَّعۡتُ
I gave enjoyment
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
(to) these
وَءَابَآءَهُمۡ
and their forefathers
حَتَّىٰ
until
جَآءَهُمُ
came to them
ٱلۡحَقُّ
the truth
وَرَسُولٌ
and a Messenger
مُّبِينٌ
clear
٢٩
However, I gave enjoyment to these [people of Makkah] and their fathers1 until there came to them the truth and a clear Messenger.2
43:30
وَلَمَّا
And when
جَآءَهُمُ
came to them
ٱلۡحَقُّ
the truth
قَالُواۡ
they said
هَـٰذَا
This
سِحۡرٌ
(is) magic
وَإِنَّا
and indeed, we
بِهِۦ
of it
كَـٰفِرُونَ
(are) disbelievers
٣٠
But when the truth came to them, they said, "This is magic, and indeed we are, concerning it, disbelievers."
43:31
وَقَالُواۡ
And they say
لَوۡلَا
Why not
نُزِّلَ
was sent down
هَـٰذَا
this
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ
the Quran
عَلَىٰ
to
رَجُلٍ
a man
مِّنَ
from
ٱلۡقَرۡيَتَيۡنِ
the two towns
عَظِيمٍ
great
٣١
And they said, "Why was this Qur’ān not sent down upon a great man from [one of] the two cities?"1
43:32
أَهُمۡ
Do they
يَقۡسِمُونَ
distribute
رَحۡمَتَ
(the) Mercy
رَبِّكَ‌ۚ
(of) your Lord
نَحۡنُ
We
قَسَمۡنَا
[We] distribute
بَيۡنَهُم
among them
مَّعِيشَتَهُمۡ
their livelihood
فِى
in
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا‌ۚ
(of) the world
وَرَفَعۡنَا
and We raise
بَعۡضَهُمۡ
some of them
فَوۡقَ
above
بَعۡضٍ
others
دَرَجَـٰتٍ
(in) degrees
لِّيَتَّخِذَ
so that may take
بَعۡضُهُم
some of them
بَعۡضًا
others
سُخۡرِيًّا‌ۗ
(for) service
وَرَحۡمَتُ
But (the) Mercy
رَبِّكَ
(of) your Lord
خَيۡرٌ
(is) better
مِّمَّا
than what
يَجۡمَعُونَ
they accumulate
٣٢
Do they distribute the mercy of your Lord? It is We who have apportioned among them their livelihood in the life of this world and have raised some of them above others in degrees [of rank] that they may make use of one another for service. But the mercy of your Lord is better than whatever they accumulate.
43:33
وَلَوۡلَآ
And if not
أَن
that
يَكُونَ
(would) become
ٱلنَّاسُ
[the] mankind
أُمَّةً
a community
وٰحِدَةً
one
لَّجَعَلۡنَا
We (would have) made
لِمَن
for (one) who
يَكۡفُرُ
disbelieves
بِٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ
in the Most Gracious
لِبُيُوتِهِمۡ
for their houses
سُقُفًا
roofs
مِّن
of
فِضَّةٍ
silver
وَمَعَارِجَ
and stairways
عَلَيۡهَا
upon which
يَظۡهَرُونَ
they mount
٣٣
And if it were not that the people would become one community [of disbelievers],1 We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Most Merciful - for their houses - ceilings and stairways of silver upon which to mount.
43:34
وَلِبُيُوتِهِمۡ
And for their houses
أَبۡوٰبًا
doors
وَسُرُرًا
and couches
عَلَيۡهَا
upon which
يَتَّكِــُٔونَ
they recline
٣٤
And for their houses - doors and couches [of silver] upon which to recline
43:35
وَزُخۡرُفًا‌ۚ
And ornaments of gold
وَإِن
And not (is)
كُلُّ
all
ذٰلِكَ
that
لَمَّا
but
مَتَـٰعُ
an enjoyment
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
(of) the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا‌ۚ
(of) the world
وَٱلۡأَخِرَةُ
And the Hereafter
عِندَ
with
رَبِّكَ
your Lord
لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ
(is) for the righteous
٣٥
And gold ornament. But all that is not but the enjoyment of worldly life. And the Hereafter with your Lord is for the righteous.
43:36
وَمَن
And whoever
يَعۡشُ
turns away
عَن
from
ذِكۡرِ
(the) remembrance
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ
(of) the Most Gracious
نُقَيِّضۡ
We appoint
لَهُۥ
for him
شَيۡطَـٰنًا
a devil
فَهُوَ
then he
لَهُۥ
(is) to him
قَرِينٌ
a companion
٣٦
And whoever is blinded from remembrance of the Most Merciful - We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion.
43:37
وَإِنَّهُمۡ
And indeed, they
لَيَصُدُّونَهُمۡ
surely, turn them
عَنِ
from
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
the Path
وَيَحۡسَبُونَ
and they think
أَنَّهُم
that they
مُّهۡتَدُونَ
(are) guided
٣٧
And indeed, they [i.e., the devils] avert them from the way [of guidance] while they think that they are [rightly] guided
43:38
حَتَّىٰٓ
Until
إِذَا
when
جَآءَنَا
he comes to Us
قَالَ
he says
يَـٰلَيۡتَ
O would that
بَيۡنِى
between me
وَبَيۡنَكَ
and between you
بُعۡدَ
(were the) distance
ٱلۡمَشۡرِقَيۡنِ
(of) the East and the West
فَبِئۡسَ
How wretched is
ٱلۡقَرِينُ
the companion
٣٨
Until, when he comes to Us [at Judgement], he says [to his companion], "How I wish there was between me and you the distance between the east and west; and what a wretched companion."
43:39
وَلَن
And never
يَنفَعَكُمُ
will benefit you
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
the Day
إِذ
when
ظَّلَمۡتُمۡ
you have wronged
أَنَّكُمۡ
that you
فِى
(will be) in
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
the punishment
مُشۡتَرِكُونَ
sharing
٣٩
And never will it benefit you that Day, when you have wronged, that you are [all] sharing in the punishment.
43:40
أَفَأَنتَ
Then can you
تُسۡمِعُ
cause to hear
ٱلصُّمَّ
the deaf
أَوۡ
or
تَهۡدِى
guide
ٱلۡعُمۡىَ
the blind
وَمَن
and (one) who
كَانَ
is
فِى
in
ضَلَـٰلٍ
an error
مُّبِينٍ
clear
٤٠
Then will you make the deaf hear, [O Muḥammad], or guide the blind or he who is in clear error?
43:41
فَإِمَّا
And whether
نَذۡهَبَنَّ
We take you away
بِكَ
We take you away
فَإِنَّا
then indeed, We
مِنۡهُم
from them
مُّنتَقِمُونَ
(will) take retribution
٤١
And whether [or not] We take you away [in death], indeed, We will take retribution upon them.
43:42
أَوۡ
Or
نُرِيَنَّكَ
We show you
ٱلَّذِى
that which
وَعَدۡنَـٰهُمۡ
We have promised them
فَإِنَّا
then indeed, We
عَلَيۡهِم
over them
مُّقۡتَدِرُونَ
have full power
٤٢
Or whether [or not] We show you that which We have promised them, indeed, We are Perfect in Ability.
43:43
فَٱسۡتَمۡسِكۡ
So hold fast
بِٱلَّذِىٓ
to that which
أُوحِىَ
is revealed
إِلَيۡكَ‌ۖ
to you
إِنَّكَ
Indeed, you
عَلَىٰ
(are) on
صِرٰطٍ
a Path
مُّسۡتَقِيمٍ
Straight
٤٣
So adhere to that which is revealed to you. Indeed, you are on a straight path.
43:44
وَإِنَّهُۥ
And indeed, it
لَذِكۡرٌ
(is) surely, a Reminder
لَّكَ
for you
وَلِقَوۡمِكَ‌ۖ
and your people
وَسَوۡفَ
and soon
تُسۡــَٔلُونَ
you will be questioned
٤٤
And indeed, it is a remembrance1 for you and your people, and you [all] are going to be questioned.
43:45
وَسۡــَٔلۡ
And ask
مَنۡ
(those) whom
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
مِن
before you
قَبۡلِكَ
before you
مِن
of
رُّسُلِنَآ
Our Messengers
أَجَعَلۡنَا
did We make
مِن
besides
دُونِ
besides
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ
the Most Gracious
ءَالِهَةً
gods
يُعۡبَدُونَ
to be worshipped
٤٥
And ask those We sent before you of Our messengers; have We made besides the Most Merciful deities to be worshipped?
43:46
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
مُوسَىٰ
Musa
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَآ
with Our Signs
إِلَىٰ
to
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firaun
وَمَلَإِيۡهِۦ
and his chiefs
فَقَالَ
and he said
إِنِّى
Indeed, I am
رَسُولُ
a Messenger
رَبِّ
(of the) Lord
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
(of) the worlds
٤٦
And certainly did We send Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, and he said, "Indeed, I am the messenger of the Lord of the worlds."
43:47
فَلَمَّا
But when
جَآءَهُم
he came to them
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَآ
with Our Signs
إِذَا
behold
هُم
They
مِّنۡهَا
at them
يَضۡحَكُونَ
laughed
٤٧
But when he brought them Our signs, at once they laughed at them.
43:48
وَمَا
And not
نُرِيهِم
We showed them
مِّنۡ
of
ءَايَةٍ
a Sign
إِلَّا
but
هِىَ
it
أَكۡبَرُ
(was) greater
مِنۡ
than
أُخۡتِهَا‌ۖ
its sister
وَأَخَذۡنَـٰهُم
and We seized them
بِٱلۡعَذَابِ
with the punishment
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
so that they may
يَرۡجِعُونَ
return
٤٨
And We showed them not a sign except that it was greater than its sister, and We seized them with affliction that perhaps they might return [to faith].
43:49
وَقَالُواۡ
And they said
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَ
O
ٱلسَّاحِرُ
[the] magician
ٱدۡعُ
Invoke
لَنَا
for us
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
بِمَا
by what
عَهِدَ
He has made covenant
عِندَكَ
with you
إِنَّنَا
Indeed, we
لَمُهۡتَدُونَ
(will) surely be guided
٤٩
And they said [to Moses], "O magician, invoke for us your Lord by what He has promised you. Indeed, we will be guided."
43:50
فَلَمَّا
But when
كَشَفۡنَا
We removed
عَنۡهُمُ
from them
ٱلۡعَذَابَ
the punishment
إِذَا
behold
هُمۡ
They
يَنكُثُونَ
broke (their word)
٥٠
But when We removed from them the affliction, at once they broke their word.
43:51
وَنَادَىٰ
And called out
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
Firaun
فِى
among
قَوۡمِهِۦ
his people
قَالَ
he said
يَـٰقَوۡمِ
O my people
أَلَيۡسَ
Is not
لِى
for me
مُلۡكُ
(the) kingdom
مِصۡرَ
(of) Egypt
وَهَـٰذِهِ
and these
ٱلۡأَنۡهَـٰرُ
[the] rivers
تَجۡرِى
flowing
مِن
underneath me
تَحۡتِىٓ‌ۖ
underneath me
أَفَلَا
Then do not
تُبۡصِرُونَ
you see
٥١
And Pharaoh called out among his people; he said, "O my people, does not the kingdom of Egypt belong to me, and these rivers flowing beneath me; then do you not see?
43:52
أَمۡ
Or
أَنَاۡ
am I
خَيۡرٌ
better
مِّنۡ
than
هَـٰذَا
this
ٱلَّذِى
one who
هُوَ
he
مَهِينٌ
(is) insignificant
وَلَا
and hardly
يَكَادُ
and hardly
يُبِينُ
clear
٥٢
Or am I [not] better than this one [i.e., Moses] who is insignificant and hardly makes himself clear?1
43:53
فَلَوۡلَآ
Then why not
أُلۡقِىَ
are placed
عَلَيۡهِ
on him
أَسۡوِرَةٌ
bracelets
مِّن
of
ذَهَبٍ
gold
أَوۡ
or
جَآءَ
come
مَعَهُ
with him
ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ
the Angels
مُقۡتَرِنِينَ
accompanying (him)
٥٣
Then why have there not been placed upon him bracelets of gold or come with him the angels in conjunction?"
43:54
فَٱسۡتَخَفَّ
So he bluffed
قَوۡمَهُۥ
his people
فَأَطَاعُوهُ‌ۚ
and they obeyed him
إِنَّهُمۡ
Indeed, they
كَانُواۡ
were
قَوۡمًا
a people
فَـٰسِقِينَ
defiantly disobedient
٥٤
So he bluffed his people, and they obeyed him. Indeed, they were [themselves] a people defiantly disobedient [of Allāh].
43:55
فَلَمَّآ
So when
ءَاسَفُونَا
they angered Us
ٱنتَقَمۡنَا
We took retribution
مِنۡهُمۡ
from them
فَأَغۡرَقۡنَـٰهُمۡ
and We drowned them
أَجۡمَعِينَ
all
٥٥
And when they angered Us, We took retribution from them and drowned them all.
43:56
فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ
And We made them
سَلَفًا
a precedent
وَمَثَلاً
and an example
لِّلۡأَخِرِينَ
for the later (generations)
٥٦
And We made them a precedent and an example for the later peoples.
43:57
۞وَلَمَّا
And when
ضُرِبَ
is presented
ٱبۡنُ
(the) son
مَرۡيَمَ
(of) Maryam
مَثَلاً
(as) an example
إِذَا
behold
قَوۡمُكَ
Your people
مِنۡهُ
about it
يَصِدُّونَ
laughed aloud
٥٧
And when the son of Mary was presented as an example,1 immediately your people laughed aloud.
43:58
وَقَالُوٓاۡ
And they said
ءَأٰلِهَتُنَا
Are our gods
خَيۡرٌ
better
أَمۡ
or
هُوَ‌ۚ
he
مَا
Not
ضَرَبُوهُ
they present it
لَكَ
to you
إِلَّا
except
جَدَلاَۢ‌ۚ
(for) argument
بَلۡ
Nay
هُمۡ
they
قَوۡمٌ
(are) a people
خَصِمُونَ
argumentative
٥٨
And they said, "Are our gods better, or is he?"1 They did not present it [i.e., the comparison] except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute.
43:59
إِنۡ
Not
هُوَ
he
إِلَّا
(was) except
عَبۡدٌ
a slave
أَنۡعَمۡنَا
We bestowed Our favor
عَلَيۡهِ
on him
وَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُ
and We made him
مَثَلاً
an example
لِّبَنِىٓ
for (the) Children of Israel
إِسۡرٰٓءِيلَ
for (the) Children of Israel
٥٩
He [i.e., Jesus] was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel.
43:60
وَلَوۡ
And if
نَشَآءُ
We willed
لَجَعَلۡنَا
surely We (could have) made
مِنكُم
among you
مَّلَـٰٓئِكَةً
Angels
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
يَخۡلُفُونَ
succeeding
٦٠
And if We willed, We could have made [instead] of you angels succeeding [one another]1 on the earth.
43:61
وَإِنَّهُۥ
And indeed, it
لَعِلۡمٌ
surely (is) a knowledge
لِّلسَّاعَةِ
of the Hour
فَلَا
So (do) not
تَمۡتَرُنَّ
(be) doubtful
بِهَا
about it
وَٱتَّبِعُونِ‌ۚ
and follow Me
هَـٰذَا
This
صِرٰطٌ
(is the) Path
مُّسۡتَقِيمٌ
Straight
٦١
And indeed, he [i.e., Jesus] will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me.1 This is a straight path.
43:62
وَلَا
And (let) not
يَصُدَّنَّكُمُ
avert you
ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنُ‌ۖ
the Shaitaan
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, he
لَكُمۡ
(is) for you
عَدُوٌّ
an enemy
مُّبِينٌ
clear
٦٢
And never let Satan avert you. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.
43:63
وَلَمَّا
And when
جَآءَ
came
عِيسَىٰ
Isa
بِٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتِ
with clear proofs
قَالَ
he said
قَدۡ
Verily
جِئۡتُكُم
I have come to you
بِٱلۡحِكۡمَةِ
with wisdom
وَلِأُبَيِّنَ
and that I make clear
لَكُم
to you
بَعۡضَ
some
ٱلَّذِى
(of) that which
تَخۡتَلِفُونَ
you differ
فِيهِ‌ۖ
in it
فَٱتَّقُواۡ
So fear
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
وَأَطِيعُونِ
and obey me
٦٣
And when Jesus brought clear proofs, he said, "I have come to you with wisdom [i.e., prophethood] and to make clear to you some of that over which you differ, so fear Allāh and obey me.
43:64
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
هُوَ
He
رَبِّى
(is) my Lord
وَرَبُّكُمۡ
and your Lord
فَٱعۡبُدُوهُ‌ۚ
so worship Him
هَـٰذَا
This
صِرٰطٌ
(is) a Path
مُّسۡتَقِيمٌ
Straight
٦٤
Indeed, Allāh is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path."
43:65
فَٱخۡتَلَفَ
But differed
ٱلۡأَحۡزَابُ
the factions
مِنۢ
from
بَيۡنِهِمۡ‌ۖ
among them
فَوَيۡلٌ
so woe
لِّلَّذِينَ
to those who
ظَلَمُواۡ
wronged
مِنۡ
from
عَذَابِ
(the) punishment
يَوۡمٍ
(of the) Day
أَلِيمٍ
painful
٦٥
But the denominations from among them differed [and separated], so woe to those who have wronged from the punishment of a painful Day.
43:66
هَلۡ
Are
يَنظُرُونَ
they waiting
إِلَّا
except
ٱلسَّاعَةَ
(for) the Hour
أَن
that
تَأۡتِيَهُم
it should come on them
بَغۡتَةً
suddenly
وَهُمۡ
while they
لَا
(do) not
يَشۡعُرُونَ
perceive
٦٦
Are they waiting except for the Hour to come upon them suddenly while they perceive not?
43:67
ٱلۡأَخِلَّآءُ
Friends
يَوۡمَئِذِۭ
that Day
بَعۡضُهُمۡ
some of them
لِبَعۡضٍ
to others
عَدُوٌّ
(will be) enemies
إِلَّا
except
ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
the righteous
٦٧
Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous
43:68
يَـٰعِبَادِ
O My slaves
لَا
No
خَوۡفٌ
fear
عَلَيۡكُمُ
on you
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
this Day
وَلَآ
and not
أَنتُمۡ
you
تَحۡزَنُونَ
will grieve
٦٨
[To whom Allāh will say], "O My servants, no fear will there be concerning you this Day, nor will you grieve,
43:69
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believed
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا
in Our Verses
وَكَانُواۡ
and were
مُسۡلِمِينَ
submissive
٦٩
[You] who believed in Our verses and were Muslims.
43:70
ٱدۡخُلُواۡ
Enter
ٱلۡجَنَّةَ
Paradise
أَنتُمۡ
you
وَأَزۡوٰجُكُمۡ
and your spouses
تُحۡبَرُونَ
delighted
٧٠
Enter Paradise, you and your kinds,1 delighted."
43:71
يُطَافُ
Will be circulated
عَلَيۡهِم
for them
بِصِحَافٍ
plates
مِّن
of
ذَهَبٍ
gold
وَأَكۡوَابٍ‌ۖ
and cups
وَفِيهَا
And therein
مَا
(is) what
تَشۡتَهِيهِ
desires
ٱلۡأَنفُسُ
the souls
وَتَلَذُّ
and delights
ٱلۡأَعۡيُنُ‌ۖ
the eyes
وَأَنتُمۡ
and you
فِيهَا
therein
خَـٰلِدُونَ
will abide forever
٧١
Circulated among them will be plates and vessels of gold. And therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes, and you will abide therein eternally.
43:72
وَتِلۡكَ
And this
ٱلۡجَنَّةُ
(is) the Paradise
ٱلَّتِىٓ
which
أُورِثۡتُمُوهَا
you are made to inherit
بِمَا
for what
كُنتُمۡ
you used to
تَعۡمَلُونَ
do
٧٢
And that is Paradise which you are made to inherit for what you used to do.
43:73
لَكُمۡ
For you
فِيهَا
therein
فَـٰكِهَةٌ
(are) fruits
كَثِيرَةٌ
abundant
مِّنۡهَا
from it
تَأۡكُلُونَ
you will eat
٧٣
For you therein is much fruit1 from which you will eat.
43:74
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
the criminals
فِى
(will be) in
عَذَابِ
(the) punishment
جَهَنَّمَ
(of) Hell
خَـٰلِدُونَ
abiding forever
٧٤
Indeed, the criminals will be in the punishment of Hell, abiding eternally.
43:75
لَا
Not
يُفَتَّرُ
will it subside
عَنۡهُمۡ
for them
وَهُمۡ
and they
فِيهِ
in it
مُبۡلِسُونَ
(will) despair
٧٥
It will not be allowed to subside for them, and they, therein, are in despair.
43:76
وَمَا
And not
ظَلَمۡنَـٰهُمۡ
We wronged them
وَلَـٰكِن
but
كَانُواۡ
they were
هُمُ
themselves
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
wrongdoers
٧٦
And We did not wrong them, but it was they who were the wrongdoers.
43:77
وَنَادَوۡاۡ
And they will call
يَـٰمَـٰلِكُ
O Malik
لِيَقۡضِ
Let put an end
عَلَيۡنَا
to us
رَبُّكَ‌ۖ
your Lord
قَالَ
He (will) say
إِنَّكُم
Indeed, you
مَّـٰكِثُونَ
(will) remain
٧٧
And they will call, "O Mālik,1 let your Lord put an end to us!" He will say, "Indeed, you will remain."
43:78
لَقَدۡ
Certainly
جِئۡنَـٰكُم
We have brought you
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
the truth
وَلَـٰكِنَّ
but
أَكۡثَرَكُمۡ
most of you
لِلۡحَقِّ
to the truth
كَـٰرِهُونَ
(are) averse
٧٨
We had certainly brought you the truth, but most of you, to the truth, were averse.
43:79
أَمۡ
Or
أَبۡرَمُوٓاۡ
have they determined
أَمۡرًا
an affair
فَإِنَّا
Then indeed, We
مُبۡرِمُونَ
(are) determined
٧٩
Or have they devised [some] affair?1 But indeed, We are devising [a plan].
43:80
أَمۡ
Or
يَحۡسَبُونَ
(do) they think
أَنَّا
that We
لَا
(can) not
نَسۡمَعُ
hear
سِرَّهُمۡ
their secret(s)
وَنَجۡوَٮٰهُم‌ۚ
and their private counsel(s)
بَلَىٰ
Nay
وَرُسُلُنَا
and Our Messengers
لَدَيۡهِمۡ
with them
يَكۡتُبُونَ
are recording
٨٠
Or do they think that We hear not their secrets and their private conversations? Yes, [We do], and Our messengers [i.e., angels] are with them recording.
43:81
قُلۡ
Say
إِن
If
كَانَ
had
لِلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ
the Most Gracious
وَلَدٌ
a son
فَأَنَاۡ
Then, I
أَوَّلُ
(would be the) first
ٱلۡعَـٰبِدِينَ
(of) the worshippers
٨١
Say, [O Muḥammad], "If the Most Merciful had a son, then I would be the first of [his] worshippers."1
43:82
سُبۡحَـٰنَ
Glory be
رَبِّ
(to the) Lord
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
and the earth
رَبِّ
(the) Lord
ٱلۡعَرۡشِ
(of) the Throne
عَمَّا
above what
يَصِفُونَ
they ascribe
٨٢
Exalted is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe.
43:83
فَذَرۡهُمۡ
So leave them
يَخُوضُواۡ
(to) converse vainly
وَيَلۡعَبُواۡ
and play
حَتَّىٰ
until
يُلَـٰقُواۡ
they meet
يَوۡمَهُمُ
their Day
ٱلَّذِى
which
يُوعَدُونَ
they are promised
٨٣
So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised.
43:84
وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the heaven
إِلَـٰهٌ
God
وَفِى
and in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
إِلَـٰهٌ‌ۚ
God
وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلۡحَكِيمُ
(is) the All-Wise
ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
the All-Knower
٨٤
And it is He [i.e., Allāh] who is [the only] deity in the heaven, and on the earth [the only] deity. And He is the Wise, the Knowing.
43:85
وَتَبَارَكَ
And blessed (is)
ٱلَّذِى
the One Who
لَهُۥ
to Whom
مُلۡكُ
(belongs the) dominion
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
and the earth
وَمَا
and whatever
بَيۡنَهُمَا
(is) between both of them
وَعِندَهُۥ
and with Him
عِلۡمُ
(is the) knowledge
ٱلسَّاعَةِ
(of) the Hour
وَإِلَيۡهِ
and to Him
تُرۡجَعُونَ
you will be returned
٨٥
And blessed is He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them and with whom is knowledge of the Hour and to whom you will be returned.
43:86
وَلَا
And not
يَمۡلِكُ
have power
ٱلَّذِينَ
those whom
يَدۡعُونَ
they invoke
مِن
besides Him
دُونِهِ
besides Him
ٱلشَّفَـٰعَةَ
(for) the intercession
إِلَّا
except
مَن
who
شَهِدَ
testifies
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
to the truth
وَهُمۡ
and they
يَعۡلَمُونَ
know
٨٦
And those they invoke1 besides Him do not possess [power of] intercession; but only those who testify to the truth [can benefit], and they know.2
43:87
وَلَئِن
And if
سَأَلۡتَهُم
you ask them
مَّنۡ
who
خَلَقَهُمۡ
created them
لَيَقُولُنَّ
they will certainly say
ٱللَّهُ‌ۖ
Allah
فَأَنَّىٰ
Then how
يُؤۡفَكُونَ
are they deluded
٨٧
And if you asked them1 who created them, they would surely say, "Allāh." So how are they deluded?
43:88
وَقِيلِهِۦ
And his saying
يَـٰرَبِّ
O my Lord
إِنَّ
Indeed
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
these
قَوۡمٌ
(are) a people
لَّا
(who do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
believe
٨٨
And [Allāh acknowledges] his saying,1 "O my Lord, indeed these are a people who do not believe."
43:89
فَٱصۡفَحۡ
So turn away
عَنۡهُمۡ
from them
وَقُلۡ
and say
سَلَـٰمٌ‌ۚ
Peace
فَسَوۡفَ
But soon
يَعۡلَمُونَ
they will know
٨٩
So turn aside from them and say, "Peace."1 But they are going to know.

رَسُولٌ
a Messenger
مُّبِينٌ
clear
١٣
How will there be for them a reminder [at that time]? And there had come to them a clear Messenger.
44:14
ثُمَّ
Then
تَوَلَّوۡاۡ
they turned away
عَنۡهُ
from him
وَقَالُواۡ
and said
مُعَلَّمٌ
One taught
مَّجۡنُونٌ
a mad man
١٤
Then they turned away from him and said, "[He was] taught [and is] a madman."
44:15
إِنَّا
Indeed, We
كَاشِفُواۡ
(will) remove
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
the punishment
قَلِيلاً‌ۚ
a little
إِنَّكُمۡ
indeed, you
عَآئِدُونَ
(will) return
١٥
Indeed, We will remove the torment for a little. Indeed, you [disbelievers] will return [to disbelief].
44:16
يَوۡمَ
(The) Day
نَبۡطِشُ
We will seize
ٱلۡبَطۡشَةَ
(with) the seizure
ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰٓ
the greatest
إِنَّا
indeed, We
مُنتَقِمُونَ
(will) take retribution
١٦
The Day We will strike with the greatest assault, indeed, We will take retribution.
44:17
۞وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
فَتَنَّا
We tried
قَبۡلَهُمۡ
before them
قَوۡمَ
(the) people
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
(of) Firaun
وَجَآءَهُمۡ
and came to them
رَسُولٌ
a Messenger
كَرِيمٌ
noble
١٧
And We had already tried before them the people of Pharaoh, and there came to them a noble messenger [i.e., Moses],
44:18
أَنۡ
That
أَدُّوٓاۡ
Deliver
إِلَىَّ
to me
عِبَادَ
(the) servants
ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ
(of) Allah
إِنِّى
Indeed, I am
لَكُمۡ
to you
رَسُولٌ
a Messenger
أَمِينٌ
trustworthy
١٨
[Saying], "Render to me the servants of Allāh.1 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger,"
44:19
وَأَن
And that
لَّا
(do) not
تَعۡلُواۡ
exalt yourselves
عَلَى
against
ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ
Allah
إِنِّىٓ
Indeed, I
ءَاتِيكُم
[I] have come to you
بِسُلۡطَـٰنٍ
with an authority
مُّبِينٍ
clear
١٩
And [saying], "Be not haughty with Allāh. Indeed, I have come to you with clear evidence.
44:20
وَإِنِّى
And indeed, I
عُذۡتُ
[I] seek refuge
بِرَبِّى
with my Lord
وَرَبِّكُمۡ
and your Lord
أَن
lest
تَرۡجُمُونِ
you stone me
٢٠
And indeed, I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord, lest you stone me.1
44:21
وَإِن
And if
لَّمۡ
not
تُؤۡمِنُواۡ
you believe
لِى
me
فَٱعۡتَزِلُونِ
then leave me alone
٢١
But if you do not believe me, then leave me alone."
44:22
فَدَعَا
So he called
رَبَّهُۥٓ
his Lord
أَنَّ
That
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
these
قَوۡمٌ
(are) a people
مُّجۡرِمُونَ
criminals
٢٢
And [finally] he called to his Lord that these were a criminal people.
44:23
فَأَسۡرِ
Then "Set out
بِعِبَادِى
with My slaves
لَيۡلاً
(by) night
إِنَّكُم
Indeed, you
مُّتَّبَعُونَ
(will be) followed
٢٣
[Allāh said], "Then set out with My servants by night. Indeed, you are to be pursued.
44:24
وَٱتۡرُكِ
And leave
ٱلۡبَحۡرَ
the sea
رَهۡوًا‌ۖ
at rest
إِنَّهُمۡ
Indeed, they
جُندٌ
(are) an army
مُّغۡرَقُونَ
(to be) drowned
٢٤
And leave the sea in stillness.1 Indeed, they are an army to be drowned."
44:25
كَمۡ
How many
تَرَكُواۡ
(did) they leave
مِن
of
جَنَّـٰتٍ
gardens
وَعُيُونٍ
and springs
٢٥
How much they left behind of gardens and springs
44:26
وَزُرُوعٍ
And cornfields
وَمَقَامٍ
and places
كَرِيمٍ
noble
٢٦
And crops and noble sites
44:27
وَنَعۡمَةٍ
And pleasant things
كَانُواۡ
they used to
فِيهَا
therein
فَـٰكِهِينَ
take delight
٢٧
And comfort wherein they were amused.
44:28
كَذٰلِكَ‌ۖ
Thus
وَأَوۡرَثۡنَـٰهَا
And We made it (an) inherit(ance)
قَوۡمًا
(for) a people
ءَاخَرِينَ
another
٢٨
Thus. And We caused to inherit it another people.
44:29
فَمَا
And not
بَكَتۡ
wept
عَلَيۡهِمُ
for them
ٱلسَّمَآءُ
the heaven
وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ
and the earth
وَمَا
and not
كَانُواۡ
they were
مُنظَرِينَ
given respite
٢٩
And the heaven and earth wept not for them, nor were they reprieved.
44:30
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
نَجَّيۡنَا
We saved
بَنِىٓ
(the) Children of Israel
إِسۡرٰٓءِيلَ
(the) Children of Israel
مِنَ
from
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
the punishment
ٱلۡمُهِينِ
the humiliating
٣٠
And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment -
44:31
مِن
From
فِرۡعَوۡنَ‌ۚ
Firaun
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, he
كَانَ
was
عَالِيًا
arrogant
مِّنَ
among
ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ
the transgressors
٣١
From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors.
44:32
وَلَقَدِ
And certainly
ٱخۡتَرۡنَـٰهُمۡ
We chose them
عَلَىٰ
by
عِلۡمٍ
knowledge
عَلَى
over
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
the worlds
٣٢
And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds.
44:33
وَءَاتَيۡنَـٰهُم
And We gave them
مِّنَ
of
ٱلۡأَيَـٰتِ
the Signs
مَا
that
فِيهِ
in it
بَلَـٰٓؤٌاۡ
(was) a trial
مُّبِينٌ
clear
٣٣
And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial.
44:34
إِنَّ
Indeed
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
these
لَيَقُولُونَ
surely, they say
٣٤
Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying,
44:35
إِنۡ
Not
هِىَ
it
إِلَّا
(is) but
مَوۡتَتُنَا
our death
ٱلۡأُولَىٰ
the first
وَمَا
and not
نَحۡنُ
we
بِمُنشَرِينَ
(will be) raised again
٣٥
"There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected.
44:36
فَأۡتُواۡ
Then bring
بِـَٔـابَآئِنَآ
our forefathers
إِن
if
كُنتُمۡ
you are
صَـٰدِقِينَ
truthful
٣٦
Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful."
44:37
أَهُمۡ
Are they
خَيۡرٌ
better
أَمۡ
or
قَوۡمُ
(the) people
تُبَّعٍ
(of) Tubba
وَٱلَّذِينَ
and those
مِن
before them
قَبۡلِهِمۡ‌ۚ
before them
أَهۡلَكۡنَـٰهُمۡ‌ۖ
We destroyed them
إِنَّهُمۡ
indeed, they
كَانُواۡ
were
مُجۡرِمِينَ
criminals
٣٧
Are they better or the people of Tubbaʿ1 and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals.
44:38
وَمَا
And not
خَلَقۡنَا
We created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ
and the earth
وَمَا
and whatever
بَيۡنَهُمَا
(is) between them
لَـٰعِبِينَ
(in) play
٣٨
And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play.
44:39
مَا
Not
خَلَقۡنَـٰهُمَآ
We created both of them
إِلَّا
but
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
in [the] truth
وَلَـٰكِنَّ
but
أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ
most of them
لَا
(do) not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
know
٣٩
We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know.
44:40
إِنَّ
Indeed
يَوۡمَ
(the) Day of Judgment
ٱلۡفَصۡلِ
(the) Day of Judgment
مِيقَـٰتُهُمۡ
(is) an appointed term for them
أَجۡمَعِينَ
all
٤٠
Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all -
44:41
يَوۡمَ
(The) Day
لَا
not
يُغۡنِى
will avail
مَوۡلًى
a relation
عَن
for
مَّوۡلًى
a relation
شَيۡــًٔا
anything
وَلَا
and not
هُمۡ
they
يُنصَرُونَ
will be helped
٤١
The Day when no relation1 will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped -
44:42
إِلَّا
Except
مَن
(on) whom
رَّحِمَ
Allah has mercy
ٱللَّهُ‌ۚ
Allah has mercy
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, He
هُوَ
[He]
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
the Most Merciful
٤٢
Except those [believers] on whom Allāh has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
44:43
إِنَّ
Indeed
شَجَرَتَ
(the) tree
ٱلزَّقُّومِ
(of) Zaqqum
٤٣
Indeed, the tree of zaqqūm
44:44
طَعَامُ
(Will be) food
ٱلۡأَثِيمِ
(of) the sinner(s)
٤٤
Is food for the sinful.
44:45
كَٱلۡمُهۡلِ
Like the murky oil
يَغۡلِى
it will boil
فِى
in
ٱلۡبُطُونِ
the bellies
٤٥
Like murky oil, it boils within bellies
44:46
كَغَلۡىِ
Like boiling
ٱلۡحَمِيمِ
(of) scalding water
٤٦
Like the boiling of scalding water.
44:47
خُذُوهُ
Seize him
فَٱعۡتِلُوهُ
and drag him
إِلَىٰ
into
سَوَآءِ
(the) midst
ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
(of) the Hellfire
٤٧
[It will be commanded], "Seize him and drag him into the midst of the Hellfire,
44:48
ثُمَّ
Then
صُبُّواۡ
pour
فَوۡقَ
over
رَأۡسِهِۦ
his head
مِنۡ
of
عَذَابِ
(the) punishment
ٱلۡحَمِيمِ
(of) the scalding water
٤٨
Then pour over his head from the torment of scalding water."
44:49
ذُقۡ
Taste
إِنَّكَ
Indeed, you
أَنتَ
[you] (were)
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
the mighty
ٱلۡكَرِيمُ
the noble
٤٩
[It will be said], "Taste! Indeed, you are the honored, the noble!1
44:50
إِنَّ
Indeed
هَـٰذَا
this
مَا
(is) what
كُنتُم
you used to
بِهِۦ
[about it]
تَمۡتَرُونَ
doubt
٥٠
Indeed, this is what you used to dispute."
44:51
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
the righteous
فِى
(will be) in
مَقَامٍ
a place
أَمِينٍ
secure
٥١
Indeed, the righteous will be in a secure place:
44:52
فِى
In
جَنَّـٰتٍ
gardens
وَعُيُونٍ
and springs
٥٢
Within gardens and springs,
44:53
يَلۡبَسُونَ
Wearing garments
مِن
of
سُندُسٍ
fine silk
وَإِسۡتَبۡرَقٍ
and heavy silk
مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ
facing each other
٥٣
Wearing [garments of] fine silk and brocade, facing each other.
44:54
كَذٰلِكَ
Thus
وَزَوَّجۡنَـٰهُم
And We will marry them
بِحُورٍ
(to) companions with beautiful eyes
عِينٍ
(to) companions with beautiful eyes
٥٤
Thus. And We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes.
44:55
يَدۡعُونَ
They will call
فِيهَا
therein
بِكُلِّ
for every (kind)
فَـٰكِهَةٍ
(of) fruit
ءَامِنِينَ
secure
٥٥
They will call therein for every [kind of] fruit - safe and secure.
44:56
لَا
Not
يَذُوقُونَ
they will taste
فِيهَا
therein
ٱلۡمَوۡتَ
the death
إِلَّا
except
ٱلۡمَوۡتَةَ
the death
ٱلۡأُولَىٰ‌ۖ
the first
وَوَقَـٰهُمۡ
And He will protect them
عَذَابَ
(from the) punishment
ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
(of) the Hellfire
٥٦
They will not taste death therein except the first death, and He will have protected them from the punishment of Hellfire
44:57
فَضۡلاً
A Bounty
مِّن
from
رَّبِّكَ‌ۚ
your Lord
ذٰلِكَ
That
هُوَ
it
ٱلۡفَوۡزُ
(will be) the success
ٱلۡعَظِيمُ
the great
٥٧
As bounty from your Lord. That is what is the great attainment.
44:58
فَإِنَّمَا
Indeed
يَسَّرۡنَـٰهُ
We have made it easy
بِلِسَانِكَ
in your tongue
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
so that they may
يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
take heed
٥٨
And indeed, We have eased it [i.e., the Qur’ān] in your tongue that they might be reminded.
44:59
فَٱرۡتَقِبۡ
So watch
إِنَّهُم
indeed, they
مُّرۡتَقِبُونَ
(too are) watching
٥٩
So watch, [O Muḥammad]; indeed, they are watching [for your end].
45:1

Ḥā, Meem.1
45:2
تَنزِيلُ
(The) revelation
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ
(of) the Book
مِنَ
(is) from
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
ٱلۡعَزِيزِ
the All-Mighty
ٱلۡحَكِيمِ
the All-Wise
٢
The revelation of the Book is from Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
45:3
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
and the earth
لَأَيَـٰتٍ
surely (are) Signs
لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
for the believers
٣
Indeed, within the heavens and earth are signs for the believers.
45:4
وَفِى
And in
خَلۡقِكُمۡ
your creation
وَمَا
and what
يَبُثُّ
He disperses
مِن
of
دَآبَّةٍ
(the) moving creatures
ءَايَـٰتٌ
(are) Signs
لِّقَوۡمٍ
for a people
يُوقِنُونَ
who are certain
٤
And in the creation of yourselves and what He disperses of moving creatures are signs for people who are certain [in faith].
45:5
وَٱخۡتِلَـٰفِ
And (in the) alternation
ٱلَّيۡلِ
(of) the night
وَٱلنَّهَارِ
and the day
وَمَآ
and what
أَنزَلَ
Allah sends down
ٱللَّهُ
Allah sends down
مِنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
مِن
of
رِّزۡقٍ
(the) provision
فَأَحۡيَا
and gives life
بِهِ
thereby
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
(to) the earth
بَعۡدَ
after
مَوۡتِهَا
its death
وَتَصۡرِيفِ
and (in) directing
ٱلرِّيَـٰحِ
(the) winds
ءَايَـٰتٌ
(are) Signs
لِّقَوۡمٍ
for a people
يَعۡقِلُونَ
who reason
٥
And [in] the alternation of night and day and [in] what Allāh sends down from the sky of provision [i.e., rain] and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and [in His] directing of the winds are signs for a people who reason.
45:6
تِلۡكَ
These
ءَايَـٰتُ
(are the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
نَتۡلُوهَا
We recite them
عَلَيۡكَ
to you
بِٱلۡحَقِّ‌ۖ
in truth
فَبِأَىِّ
Then in what
حَدِيثِۭ
statement
بَعۡدَ
after
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
وَءَايَـٰتِهِۦ
and His Verses
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
will they believe
٦
These are the verses of Allāh which We recite to you in truth. Then in what statement after Allāh and His verses will they believe?
45:7
وَيۡلٌ
Woe
لِّكُلِّ
to every
أَفَّاكٍ
liar
أَثِيمٍ
sinful
٧
Woe to every sinful liar
45:8
يَسۡمَعُ
Who hears
ءَايَـٰتِ
(the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
تُتۡلَىٰ
recited
عَلَيۡهِ
to him
ثُمَّ
then
يُصِرُّ
persists
مُسۡتَكۡبِرًا
arrogantly
كَأَن
as if
لَّمۡ
not
يَسۡمَعۡهَا‌ۖ
he heard them
فَبَشِّرۡهُ
So give him tidings
بِعَذَابٍ
(of) a punishment
أَلِيمٍ
painful
٨
Who hears the verses of Allāh recited to him, then persists arrogantly as if he had not heard them. So give him tidings of a painful punishment.
45:9
وَإِذَا
And when
عَلِمَ
he knows
مِنۡ
of
ءَايَـٰتِنَا
Our Verses
شَيۡــًٔا
anything
ٱتَّخَذَهَا
he takes them
هُزُوًا‌ۚ
(in) ridicule
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
Those
لَهُمۡ
for them
عَذَابٌ
(is) a punishment
مُّهِينٌ
humiliating
٩
And when he knows anything of Our verses, he takes them in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.
45:10
مِّن
Before them
وَرَآئِهِمۡ
Before them
جَهَنَّمُ‌ۖ
(is) Hell
وَلَا
and not
يُغۡنِى

عَنۡهُم
them
مَّا
what
كَسَبُواۡ
they had earned
شَيۡــًٔا
anything
وَلَا
and not
مَا
what
ٱتَّخَذُواۡ
they had taken
مِن
besides
دُونِ
besides
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
أَوۡلِيَآءَ‌ۖ
(as) protectors
وَلَهُمۡ
And for them
عَذَابٌ
(is) a punishment
عَظِيمٌ
great
١٠
Before them1 is Hell, and what they had earned will not avail them at all nor what they had taken besides Allāh as allies. And they will have a great punishment.
45:11
هَـٰذَا
This
هُدًى‌ۖ
(is) guidance
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِ
in (the) Verses
رَبِّهِمۡ
(of) their Lord
لَهُمۡ
for them
عَذَابٌ
(is) a punishment
مِّن
of
رِّجۡزٍ
filth
أَلِيمٌ
painful
١١
This [Qur’ān] is guidance. And those who have disbelieved in the verses of their Lord will have a painful punishment of foul nature.
45:12
۞ٱللَّهُ
Allah
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
سَخَّرَ
subjected
لَكُمُ
to you
ٱلۡبَحۡرَ
the sea
لِتَجۡرِىَ
that may sail
ٱلۡفُلۡكُ
the ships
فِيهِ
therein
بِأَمۡرِهِۦ
by His Command
وَلِتَبۡتَغُواۡ
and that you may seek
مِن
of
فَضۡلِهِۦ
His Bounty
وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ
and that you may
تَشۡكُرُونَ
give thanks
١٢
It is Allāh who subjected to you the sea so that ships may sail upon it by His command and that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful.
45:13
وَسَخَّرَ
And He has subjected
لَكُم
to you
مَّا
whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
the heavens
وَمَا
and whatever
فِى

ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
جَمِيعًا
all
مِّنۡهُ‌ۚ
from Him
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
ذٰلِكَ
that
لَأَيَـٰتٍ
surely are Signs
لِّقَوۡمٍ
for a people
يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
who give thought
١٣
And He has subjected to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth - all from Him. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.
45:14
قُل
Say
لِّلَّذِينَ
to those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
يَغۡفِرُواۡ
(to) forgive
لِلَّذِينَ
those who
لَا
(do) not
يَرۡجُونَ
hope
أَيَّامَ
(for the) days
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
لِيَجۡزِىَ
that He may recompense
قَوۡمَۢا
a people
بِمَا
for what
كَانُواۡ
they used to
يَكۡسِبُونَ
earn
١٤
Say, [O Muḥammad], to those who have believed that they [should] forgive those who expect not the days of Allāh [i.e., of His retribution] so that He may recompense a people1 for what they used to earn.
45:15
مَنۡ
Whoever
عَمِلَ
does
صَـٰلِحًا
a righteous deed
فَلِنَفۡسِهِۦ‌ۖ
then it is for his soul
وَمَنۡ
and whoever
أَسَآءَ
does evil
فَعَلَيۡهَا‌ۖ
then it (is) against it
ثُمَّ
Then
إِلَىٰ
to
رَبِّكُمۡ
your Lord
تُرۡجَعُونَ
you will be returned
١٥
Whoever does a good deed - it is for himself; and whoever does evil - it is against it [i.e., the self or soul]. Then to your Lord you will be returned.
45:16
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
ءَاتَيۡنَا

وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ
and the Prophethood
وَرَزَقۡنَـٰهُم
and We provided them
مِّنَ
of
ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ
the good things
وَفَضَّلۡنَـٰهُمۡ
and We preferred them
عَلَى
over
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
the worlds
١٦
And We did certainly give the Children of Israel the Scripture and judgement1 and prophethood, and We provided them with good things and preferred them over the worlds.
45:17
وَءَاتَيۡنَـٰهُم
And We gave them
بَيِّنَـٰتٍ
clear proofs
مِّنَ
of
ٱلۡأَمۡرِ‌ۖ
the matter
فَمَا
And not
ٱخۡتَلَفُوٓاۡ
they differed
إِلَّا
except
مِنۢ
after
بَعۡدِ
after
مَا
[what]
جَآءَهُمُ
came to them
ٱلۡعِلۡمُ
the knowledge
بَغۡيَۢا
(out of) envy
بَيۡنَهُمۡ‌ۚ
between themselves
إِنَّ
Indeed
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
يَقۡضِى
will judge
بَيۡنَهُمۡ
between them
يَوۡمَ
(on the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ
(of) the Resurrection
فِيمَا
about what
كَانُواۡ
they used to
فِيهِ
therein
يَخۡتَلِفُونَ
differ
١٧
And We gave them clear proofs of the matter [of religion]. And they did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.
45:18
ثُمَّ
Then
جَعَلۡنَـٰكَ
We put you
عَلَىٰ
on
شَرِيعَةٍ
an ordained way
مِّنَ
of
ٱلۡأَمۡرِ
the matter
فَٱتَّبِعۡهَا
so follow it
وَلَا
and (do) not
تَتَّبِعۡ
follow
أَهۡوَآءَ
(the) desires
ٱلَّذِينَ
(of) those who
لَا
(do) not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
know
١٨
Then We put you, [O Muḥammad], on an ordained way concerning the matter [of religion]; so follow it and do not follow the inclinations of those who do not know.
45:19
إِنَّهُمۡ
Indeed, they
لَن
never
يُغۡنُواۡ
will avail
عَنكَ
you
مِنَ
against
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
شَيۡــًٔا‌ۚ
(in) anything
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
the wrongdoers
بَعۡضُهُمۡ
some of them
أَوۡلِيَآءُ
(are) allies
بَعۡضٍ‌ۖ
(of) others
وَٱللَّهُ
and Allah
وَلِىُّ
(is the) Protector
ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
(of) the righteous
١٩
Indeed, they will never avail you against Allāh at all. And indeed, the wrongdoers are allies of one another; but Allāh is the protector of the righteous.
45:20
هَـٰذَا
This
بَصَـٰٓئِرُ
(is) enlightenment
لِلنَّاسِ
for mankind
وَهُدًى
and guidance
وَرَحۡمَةٌ
and mercy
لِّقَوۡمٍ
for a people
يُوقِنُونَ
who are certain
٢٠
This [Qur’ān] is enlightenment for mankind and guidance and mercy for a people who are certain [in faith].
45:21
أَمۡ
Do
حَسِبَ
think
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ٱجۡتَرَحُواۡ
commit
ٱلسَّيِّـَٔـاتِ
evil deeds
أَن
that
نَّجۡعَلَهُمۡ
We will make them
كَٱلَّذِينَ
like those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believed
وَعَمِلُواۡ
and did
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
righteous deeds
سَوَآءً
equal
مَّحۡيَاهُمۡ
(in) their life
وَمَمَاتُهُمۡ‌ۚ
and their death
سَآءَ
Evil is
مَا
what
يَحۡكُمُونَ
they judge
٢١
Or do those who commit evils think We will make them like those who have believed and done righteous deeds - [make them] equal in their life and their death?1 Evil is that which they judge [i.e., assume].
45:22
وَخَلَقَ
And Allah created
ٱللَّهُ
And Allah created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ
and the earth
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
in truth
وَلِتُجۡزَىٰ
and that may be recompensed
كُلُّ
every
نَفۡسِۭ
soul
بِمَا
for what
كَسَبَتۡ
it has earned
وَهُمۡ
and they
لَا
will not be wronged
يُظۡلَمُونَ
will not be wronged
٢٢
And Allāh created the heavens and earth in truth and so that every soul may be recompensed for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.
45:23
أَفَرَءَيۡتَ
Have you seen
مَنِ
(he) who
ٱتَّخَذَ
takes
إِلَـٰهَهُۥ
(as) his god
هَوَٮٰهُ
his desire
وَأَضَلَّهُ
and Allah lets him go astray
ٱللَّهُ
and Allah lets him go astray
عَلَىٰ
knowingly
عِلۡمٍ
knowingly
وَخَتَمَ
and He sets a seal
عَلَىٰ
upon
سَمۡعِهِۦ
his hearing
وَقَلۡبِهِۦ
and his heart
وَجَعَلَ
and puts
عَلَىٰ
over
بَصَرِهِۦ
his vision
غِشَـٰوَةً
a veil
فَمَن
Then who
يَهۡدِيهِ
will guide him
مِنۢ
after
بَعۡدِ
after
ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ
Allah
أَفَلَا
Then will not
تَذَكَّرُونَ
you receive admonition
٢٣
Have you seen he who has taken as his god his [own] desire, and Allāh has sent him astray due to knowledge1 and has set a seal upon his hearing and his heart and put over his vision a veil? So who will guide him after Allāh? Then will you not be reminded?
45:24
وَقَالُواۡ
And they say
مَا
Not
هِىَ
it
إِلَّا
(is) but
حَيَاتُنَا
our life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
(of) the world
نَمُوتُ
we die
وَنَحۡيَا
and we live
وَمَا
and not
يُهۡلِكُنَآ
destroys us
إِلَّا
except
ٱلدَّهۡرُ‌ۚ
the time
وَمَا
And not
لَهُم
for them
بِذٰلِكَ
of that
مِنۡ
any
عِلۡمٍ‌ۖ
knowledge
إِنۡ
not
هُمۡ
they
إِلَّا
(do) but
يَظُنُّونَ
guess
٢٤
And they say, "There is not but our worldly life; we die and live,1 and nothing destroys us except time." And they have of that no knowledge; they are only assuming.
45:25
وَإِذَا
And when
تُتۡلَىٰ
are recited
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
to them
ءَايَـٰتُنَا
Our Verses
بَيِّنَـٰتٍ
clear
مَّا
not
كَانَ
is
حُجَّتَهُمۡ
their argument
إِلَّآ
except
أَن
that
قَالُواۡ
they say
ٱئۡتُواۡ
Bring
بِـَٔـابَآئِنَآ
our forefathers
إِن
if
كُنتُمۡ
you are
صَـٰدِقِينَ
truthful
٢٥
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, their argument is only that they say, "Bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful."
45:26
قُلِ
Say
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
يُحۡيِيكُمۡ
gives you life
ثُمَّ
then
يُمِيتُكُمۡ
causes you to die
ثُمَّ
then
يَجۡمَعُكُمۡ
He will gather you
إِلَىٰ
to
يَوۡمِ
(the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ
(of) the Resurrection
لَا
no
رَيۡبَ
doubt
فِيهِ
about it
وَلَـٰكِنَّ
But
أَكۡثَرَ
most
ٱلنَّاسِ
(of) the people
لَا
(do) not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
know
٢٦
Say, "Allāh causes you to live, then causes you to die; then He will assemble you for the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt, but most of the people do not know."
45:27
وَلِلَّهِ
And for Allah
مُلۡكُ
(is the) dominion
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۚ
and the earth
وَيَوۡمَ
and (the) Day
تَقُومُ
is established
ٱلسَّاعَةُ
the Hour
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
يَخۡسَرُ
will lose
ٱلۡمُبۡطِلُونَ
the falsifiers
٢٧
And to Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And the Day the Hour appears - that Day the falsifiers will lose.
45:28
وَتَرَىٰ
And you will see
كُلَّ
every
أُمَّةٍ
nation
جَاثِيَةً‌ۚ
kneeling
كُلُّ
Every
أُمَّةٍ
nation
تُدۡعَىٰٓ
will be called
إِلَىٰ
to
كِتَـٰبِهَا
its record
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
Today
تُجۡزَوۡنَ
you will be recompensed
مَا
(for) what
كُنتُمۡ
you used to
تَعۡمَلُونَ
do
٢٨
And you will see every nation kneeling [from fear]. Every nation will be called to its record [and told], "Today you will be recompensed for what you used to do.
45:29
هَـٰذَا
This
كِتَـٰبُنَا
Our Record
يَنطِقُ
speaks
عَلَيۡكُم
about you
بِٱلۡحَقِّ‌ۚ
in truth
إِنَّا
Indeed, We
كُنَّا
[We] used to
نَسۡتَنسِخُ
transcribe
مَا
what
كُنتُمۡ
you used to
تَعۡمَلُونَ
do
٢٩
This, Our record, speaks about you in truth. Indeed, We were having transcribed1 whatever you used to do."
45:30
فَأَمَّا
Then as for
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believed
وَعَمِلُواۡ
and did
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
[the] righteous deeds
فَيُدۡخِلُهُمۡ
will admit them
رَبُّهُمۡ
their Lord
فِى
in(to)
رَحۡمَتِهِۦ‌ۚ
His mercy
ذٰلِكَ
That
هُوَ
[it]
ٱلۡفَوۡزُ
(is) the success
ٱلۡمُبِينُ
clear
٣٠
So as for those who believed and did righteous deeds, their Lord will admit them into His mercy. That is what is the clear attainment.
45:31
وَأَمَّا
But as for
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُوٓاۡ
disbelieved
أَفَلَمۡ
Then were not
تَكُنۡ
Then were not
ءَايَـٰتِى
My Verses
تُتۡلَىٰ
recited
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
to you
فَٱسۡتَكۡبَرۡتُمۡ
but you were proud
وَكُنتُمۡ
and you became
قَوۡمًا
a people
مُّجۡرِمِينَ
criminals
٣١
But as for those who disbelieved, [it will be said], "Were not Our verses recited to you, but you were arrogant and became a criminal people?
45:32
وَإِذَا
And when
قِيلَ
it was said
إِنَّ
Indeed
وَعۡدَ
(the) Promise
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
حَقٌّ
(is) true
وَٱلسَّاعَةُ
and the Hour
لَا
(there is) no
رَيۡبَ
doubt
فِيهَا
about it
قُلۡتُم
you said
مَّا
Not
نَدۡرِى
we know
مَا
what
ٱلسَّاعَةُ
the Hour (is)
إِن
Not
نَّظُنُّ
we think
إِلَّا
except
ظَنًّا
an assumption
وَمَا
and not
نَحۡنُ
we
بِمُسۡتَيۡقِنِينَ
(are) convinced
٣٢
And when it was said, 'Indeed, the promise of Allāh is truth and the Hour [is coming] - no doubt about it,' you said, 'We know not what is the Hour. We assume only assumption, and we are not convinced.'"
45:33
وَبَدَا
And (will) appear
لَهُمۡ
to them
سَيِّـَٔـاتُ
(the) evil
مَا
(of) what
عَمِلُواۡ
they did
وَحَاقَ
and (will) envelop
بِهِم
them
مَّا
what
كَانُواۡ
they used
بِهِۦ
[at it]
يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
(to) mock
٣٣
And the evil consequences of what they did will appear to them, and they will be enveloped by what they used to ridicule.
45:34
وَقِيلَ
And it will be said
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
Today
نَنسَـٰكُمۡ
We forget you
كَمَا
as
نَسِيتُمۡ
you forgot
لِقَآءَ
(the) meeting
يَوۡمِكُمۡ
(of) this Day of yours
هَـٰذَا
(of) this Day of yours
وَمَأۡوَٮٰكُمُ
and your abode
ٱلنَّارُ
(is) the Fire
وَمَا
and not
لَكُم
for you
مِّن
any
نَّـٰصِرِينَ
helpers
٣٤
And it will be said, "Today We will forget you as you forgot the meeting of this Day of yours, and your refuge is the Fire, and for you there are no helpers.
45:35
ذٰلِكُم
That
بِأَنَّكُمُ
(is) because you
ٱتَّخَذۡتُمۡ
took
ءَايَـٰتِ
(the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
هُزُوًا
(in) ridicule
وَغَرَّتۡكُمُ
and deceived you
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ
the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا‌ۚ
(of) the world
فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ
So this Day
لَا
not
يُخۡرَجُونَ
they will be brought forth
مِنۡهَا
from it
وَلَا
and not
هُمۡ
they
يُسۡتَعۡتَبُونَ
will be asked to appease
٣٥
That is because you took the verses of Allāh in ridicule, and worldly life deluded you." So that Day they will not be removed from it, nor will they be asked to appease [Allāh].
45:36
فَلِلَّهِ
Then for Allah
ٱلۡحَمۡدُ
(is) all the praise
رَبِّ
(the) Lord
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَرَبِّ
and (the) Lord
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
(of) the earth
رَبِّ
(the) lord
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
(of) the worlds
٣٦
Then, to Allāh belongs [all] praise - Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the worlds.
45:37
وَلَهُ
And for Him
ٱلۡكِبۡرِيَآءُ
(is) the greatness
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۖ
and the earth
وَهُوَ
and He
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلۡحَكِيمُ
the All-Wise
٣٧
And to Him belongs [all] grandeur within the heavens and the earth, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
