جزء 24

3 Surahs175 Versesجزء 24
39:32
۞فَمَنۡ
Then who
أَظۡلَمُ
(is) more unjust
مِمَّن
than (one) who
كَذَبَ
lies
عَلَى
against
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
وَكَذَّبَ
and denies
بِٱلصِّدۡقِ
the truth
إِذۡ
when
جَآءَهُۥٓ‌ۚ
it comes to him
أَلَيۡسَ
Is (there) not
فِى
in
جَهَنَّمَ
Hell
مَثۡوًى
an abode
لِّلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
for the disbelievers
٣٢
So who is more unjust than one who lies about Allāh and denies the truth when it has come to him? Is there not in Hell a residence for the disbelievers?
39:33
وَٱلَّذِى
And the one who
جَآءَ
brought
بِٱلصِّدۡقِ
the truth
وَصَدَّقَ
and believed
بِهِۦٓ‌ۙ
in it
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
those
هُمُ
[they]
ٱلۡمُتَّقُونَ
(are) the righteous
٣٣
And the one who has brought the truth [i.e., the Prophet (ﷺ)] and [they who] believed in it - those are the righteous.
39:34
لَهُم
For them
مَّا
(is) what
يَشَآءُونَ
they wish
عِندَ
with
رَبِّهِمۡ‌ۚ
their Lord
ذٰلِكَ
That
جَزَآءُ
(is the) reward
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
(of) the good-doers
٣٤
They will have whatever they desire with their Lord. That is the reward of the doers of good -
39:35
لِيُكَفِّرَ
That Allah will remove
ٱللَّهُ
That Allah will remove
عَنۡهُمۡ
from them
أَسۡوَأَ
(the) worst
ٱلَّذِى
(of) what
عَمِلُواۡ
they did
وَيَجۡزِيَهُمۡ
and reward them
أَجۡرَهُم
their due
بِأَحۡسَنِ
for (the) best
ٱلَّذِى
(of) what
كَانُواۡ
they used to
يَعۡمَلُونَ
do
٣٥
That Allāh may remove from them the worst of what they did and reward them their due for the best of what they used to do.
39:36
أَلَيۡسَ
Is not
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
بِكَافٍ
sufficient
عَبۡدَهُۥ‌ۖ
(for) His slave
وَيُخَوِّفُونَكَ
And they threaten you
بِٱلَّذِينَ
with those
مِن
besides Him
دُونِهِۦ‌ۚ
besides Him
وَمَن
And whoever
يُضۡلِلِ
Allah lets go astray
ٱللَّهُ
Allah lets go astray
فَمَا
then not
لَهُۥ
for him
مِنۡ
any
هَادٍ
guide
٣٦
Is not Allāh sufficient for His Servant [i.e., Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ)]? And [yet], they threaten you with those [they worship] other than Him. And whoever Allāh leaves astray - for him there is no guide.
39:37
وَمَن
And whoever
يَهۡدِ
Allah guides
ٱللَّهُ
Allah guides
فَمَا
then not
لَهُۥ
for him
مِن
any
مُّضِلٍّ‌ۗ
misleader
أَلَيۡسَ
Is not
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
بِعَزِيزٍ
All-Mighty
ذِى
All-Able of retribution
ٱنتِقَامٍ
All-Able of retribution
٣٧
And whoever Allāh guides - for him there is no misleader. Is not Allāh Exalted in Might and Owner of Retribution?
39:38
وَلَئِن
And if
سَأَلۡتَهُم
you ask them
مَّنۡ
who
خَلَقَ
created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ
and the earth
لَيَقُولُنَّ
Surely, they will say
ٱللَّهُ‌ۚ
Allah
قُلۡ
Say
أَفَرَءَيۡتُم
Then do you see
مَّا
what
تَدۡعُونَ
you invoke
مِن
besides
دُونِ
besides
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
إِنۡ
if
أَرَادَنِىَ
Allah intended for me
ٱللَّهُ
Allah intended for me
بِضُرٍّ
harm
هَلۡ
are
هُنَّ
they
كَـٰشِفَـٰتُ
removers
ضُرِّهِۦٓ
(of) harm (from) Him
أَوۡ
or
أَرَادَنِى
if He intended for me
بِرَحۡمَةٍ
mercy
هَلۡ
are
هُنَّ
they
مُمۡسِكَـٰتُ
withholders
رَحۡمَتِهِۦ‌ۚ
(of) His mercy
قُلۡ
Say
حَسۡبِىَ
Sufficient (is) Allah for me
ٱللَّهُ‌ۖ
Sufficient (is) Allah for me
عَلَيۡهِ
upon Him
يَتَوَكَّلُ
put trust
ٱلۡمُتَوَكِّلُونَ
those who trust
٣٨
And if you asked them, "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "Allāh." Say, "Then have you considered1 what you invoke besides Allāh? If Allāh intended me harm, are they removers of His harm; or if He intended me mercy, are they withholders of His mercy?" Say, "Sufficient for me is Allāh; upon Him [alone] rely the [wise] reliers."
39:39
قُلۡ
Say
يَـٰقَوۡمِ
O my people
ٱعۡمَلُواۡ
Work
عَلَىٰ
(according) to
مَكَانَتِكُمۡ
your position
إِنِّى
indeed, I am
عَـٰمِلٌ‌ۖ
working
فَسَوۡفَ
then soon
تَعۡلَمُونَ
you will know
٣٩
Say, "O my people, work according to your position, [for] indeed, I am working; and you are going to know
39:40
مَن
(Upon) whom
يَأۡتِيهِ
will come
عَذَابٌ
a punishment
يُخۡزِيهِ
disgracing him
وَيَحِلُّ
and descends
عَلَيۡهِ
on him
عَذَابٌ
a punishment
مُّقِيمٌ
everlasting
٤٠
To whom will come a torment disgracing him and on whom will descend an enduring punishment."
39:41
إِنَّآ
Indeed We
أَنزَلۡنَا
We revealed
عَلَيۡكَ
to you
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ
the Book
لِلنَّاسِ
for [the] mankind
بِٱلۡحَقِّ‌ۖ
in truth
فَمَنِ
So whoever
ٱهۡتَدَىٰ
accepts guidance
فَلِنَفۡسِهِۦ‌ۖ
then (it is) for his soul
وَمَن
and whoever
ضَلَّ
goes astray
فَإِنَّمَا
then only
يَضِلُّ
he strays
عَلَيۡهَا‌ۖ
against his (soul)
وَمَآ
And not
أَنتَ
you
عَلَيۡهِم
(are) over them
بِوَكِيلٍ
a manager
٤١
Indeed, We sent down to you the Book for the people in truth. So whoever is guided - it is for [the benefit of] his soul; and whoever goes astray only goes astray to its detriment. And you are not a manager [i.e., authority] over them.
39:42
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
يَتَوَفَّى
takes
ٱلۡأَنفُسَ
the souls
حِينَ
(at the) time
مَوۡتِهَا
(of) their death
وَٱلَّتِى
and the one who
لَمۡ
(does) not
تَمُتۡ
die
فِى
in
مَنَامِهَا‌ۖ
their sleep
فَيُمۡسِكُ
Then He keeps
ٱلَّتِى
the one whom
قَضَىٰ
He has decreed
عَلَيۡهَا
for them
ٱلۡمَوۡتَ
the death
وَيُرۡسِلُ
and sends
ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰٓ
the others
إِلَىٰٓ
for
أَجَلٍ
a term
مُّسَمًّى‌ۚ
specified
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
ذٰلِكَ
that
لَأَيَـٰتٍ
surely (are) signs
لِّقَوۡمٍ
for a people
يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
who ponder
٤٢
Allāh takes the souls at the time of their death, and those that do not die [He takes] during their sleep. Then He keeps those for which He has decreed death and releases the others for a specified term. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.
39:43
أَمِ
Or
ٱتَّخَذُواۡ
have they taken
مِن
besides
دُونِ
besides
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
شُفَعَآءَ‌ۚ
intercessors
قُلۡ
Say
أَوَلَوۡ
Even though
كَانُواۡ
they were
لَا
not
يَمۡلِكُونَ
possessing
شَيۡــًٔا
anything
وَلَا
and not
يَعۡقِلُونَ
they understand
٤٣
Or have they taken other than Allāh as intercessors? Say, "Even though they do not possess [power over] anything, nor do they reason?"
39:44
قُل
Say
لِّلَّهِ
To Allah (belongs)
ٱلشَّفَـٰعَةُ
the intercession
جَمِيعًا‌ۖ
all
لَّهُۥ
For Him
مُلۡكُ
(is the) dominion
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۖ
and the earth
ثُمَّ
Then
إِلَيۡهِ
to Him
تُرۡجَعُونَ
you will be returned
٤٤
Say, "To Allāh belongs [the right to allow] intercession entirely. To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Then to Him you will be returned."
39:45
وَإِذَا
And when
ذُكِرَ
Allah is mentioned
ٱللَّهُ
Allah is mentioned
وَحۡدَهُ
Alone
ٱشۡمَأَزَّتۡ
shrink with aversion
قُلُوبُ
(the) hearts
ٱلَّذِينَ
(of) those who
لَا
(do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
believe
بِٱلۡأَخِرَةِ‌ۖ
in the Hereafter
وَإِذَا
and when
ذُكِرَ
are mentioned
ٱلَّذِينَ
those
مِن
besides Him
دُونِهِۦٓ
besides Him
إِذَا
behold
هُمۡ
They
يَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ
rejoice
٤٥
And when Allāh is mentioned alone, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter shrink with aversion, but when those [worshipped] other than Him are mentioned, immediately they rejoice.
39:46
قُلِ
Say
ٱللَّهُمَّ
O Allah
فَاطِرَ
Creator
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
and the earth
عَـٰلِمَ
Knower
ٱلۡغَيۡبِ
(of) the unseen
وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ
and the witnessed
أَنتَ
You
تَحۡكُمُ
will judge
بَيۡنَ
between
عِبَادِكَ
Your slaves
فِى
in
مَا
what
كَانُواۡ
they used to
فِيهِ
therein
يَخۡتَلِفُونَ
differ
٤٦
Say, "O Allāh, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, You will judge between your servants concerning that over which they used to differ."
39:47
وَلَوۡ
And if
أَنَّ
And if
لِلَّذِينَ
those who
ظَلَمُواۡ
did wrong
مَا
(had) whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
جَمِيعًا
all
وَمِثۡلَهُۥ
and (the) like of it
مَعَهُۥ
with it
لَٱفۡتَدَوۡاۡ
they would ransom
بِهِۦ
with it
مِن
from
سُوٓءِ
(the) evil
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
(of) the punishment
يَوۡمَ
(on the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ‌ۚ
(of) the Resurrection
وَبَدَا
And (will) appear
لَهُم
to them
مِّنَ
from
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
مَا
what
لَمۡ
not
يَكُونُواۡ
they had
يَحۡتَسِبُونَ
taken into account
٤٧
And if those who did wrong had all that is in the earth entirely and the like of it with it, they would [attempt to] ransom themselves thereby from the worst of the punishment on the Day of Resurrection. And there will appear to them from Allāh that which they had not taken into account.1
39:48
وَبَدَا
And will become apparent
لَهُمۡ
to them
سَيِّـَٔـاتُ
(the) evils
مَا
(of) what
كَسَبُواۡ
they earned
وَحَاقَ
and will surround
بِهِم
them
مَّا
what
كَانُواۡ
they used to
بِهِۦ
[in it]
يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
mock
٤٨
And there will appear to them the evils they had earned, and they will be enveloped by what they used to ridicule.
39:49
فَإِذَا
So when
مَسَّ
touches
ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ
[the] man
ضُرٌّ
adversity
دَعَانَا
he calls upon Us
ثُمَّ
then
إِذَا
when
خَوَّلۡنَـٰهُ
We bestow (on) him
نِعۡمَةً
a favor
مِّنَّا
from Us
قَالَ
he says
إِنَّمَآ
Only
أُوتِيتُهُۥ
I have been given it
عَلَىٰ
for
عِلۡمِۭ‌ۚ
knowledge
بَلۡ
Nay
هِىَ
it
فِتۡنَةٌ
(is) a trial
وَلَـٰكِنَّ
but
أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ
most of them
لَا
(do) not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
know
٤٩
And when adversity touches man, he calls upon Us; then when We bestow on him a favor from Us, he says, "I have only been given it because of [my] knowledge." Rather, it is a trial, but most of them do not know.
39:50
قَدۡ
Indeed
قَالَهَا
said it
ٱلَّذِينَ
those
مِن
before them
قَبۡلِهِمۡ
before them
فَمَآ
but (did) not
أَغۡنَىٰ
avail
عَنۡهُم
them
مَّا
what
كَانُواۡ
they used to
يَكۡسِبُونَ
earn
٥٠
Those before them had already said it, but they were not availed by what they used to earn.
39:51
فَأَصَابَهُمۡ
Then struck them
سَيِّـَٔـاتُ
(the) evils
مَا
(of) what
كَسَبُواۡ‌ۚ
they earned
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
ظَلَمُواۡ
have wronged
مِنۡ
of
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
these
سَيُصِيبُهُمۡ
will strike them
سَيِّـَٔـاتُ
(the) evils
مَا
(of) what
كَسَبُواۡ
they earned
وَمَا
and not
هُم
they
بِمُعۡجِزِينَ
will be able to escape
٥١
And the evil consequences of what they earned struck them. And those who have wronged of these [people] will be struck [i.e., afflicted] by the evil consequences of what they earned; and they will not cause failure.1
39:52
أَوَلَمۡ
Do not
يَعۡلَمُوٓاۡ
they know
أَنَّ
that
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
يَبۡسُطُ
extends
ٱلرِّزۡقَ
the provision
لِمَن
for whom
يَشَآءُ
He wills
وَيَقۡدِرُ‌ۚ
and restricts
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
ذٰلِكَ
that
لَأَيَـٰتٍ
surely (are) signs
لِّقَوۡمٍ
for a people
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
who believe
٥٢
Do they not know that Allāh extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]? Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.
39:53
۞قُلۡ
Say
يَـٰعِبَادِىَ
O My slaves
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
أَسۡرَفُواۡ
have transgressed
عَلَىٰٓ
against
أَنفُسِهِمۡ
themselves
لَا
(do) not
تَقۡنَطُواۡ
despair
مِن
of
رَّحۡمَةِ
(the) Mercy
ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ
(of) Allah
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
يَغۡفِرُ
forgives
ٱلذُّنُوبَ
the sins
جَمِيعًا‌ۚ
all
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed He
هُوَ
He
ٱلۡغَفُورُ
(is) the Oft-Forgiving
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
the Most Merciful
٥٣
Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allāh. Indeed, Allāh forgives all sins.1 Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."
39:54
وَأَنِيبُوٓاۡ
And turn
إِلَىٰ
to
رَبِّكُمۡ
your Lord
وَأَسۡلِمُواۡ
and submit
لَهُۥ
to Him
مِن
before
قَبۡلِ
before
أَن
[that]
يَأۡتِيَكُمُ
comes to you
ٱلۡعَذَابُ
the punishment
ثُمَّ
then
لَا
not
تُنصَرُونَ
you will be helped
٥٤
And return [in repentance] to your Lord and submit to Him before the punishment comes upon you; then you will not be helped.
39:55
وَٱتَّبِعُوٓاۡ
And follow
أَحۡسَنَ
(the) best
مَآ
(of) what
أُنزِلَ
is revealed
إِلَيۡكُم
to you
مِّن
from
رَّبِّكُم
your Lord
مِّن
before
قَبۡلِ
before
أَن
[that]
يَأۡتِيَكُمُ
comes to you
ٱلۡعَذَابُ
the punishment
بَغۡتَةً
suddenly
وَأَنتُمۡ
while you
لَا
(do) not
تَشۡعُرُونَ
perceive
٥٥
And follow the best of what was revealed to you from your Lord [i.e., the Qur’ān] before the punishment comes upon you suddenly while you do not perceive,
39:56
أَن
Lest
تَقُولَ
should say
نَفۡسٌ
a soul
يَـٰحَسۡرَتَىٰ
Oh! My regret
عَلَىٰ
over
مَا
what
فَرَّطتُ
I neglected
فِى
in
جَنۢبِ
regard (to)
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
وَإِن
and that
كُنتُ
I was
لَمِنَ
surely, among
ٱلسَّـٰخِرِينَ
the mockers
٥٦
Lest a soul should say,1 "Oh, [how great is] my regret over what I neglected in regard to Allāh and that I was among the mockers."
39:57
أَوۡ
Or
تَقُولَ
it should say
لَوۡ
If that
أَنَّ
If that
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
هَدَٮٰنِى
(had) guided me
لَكُنتُ
surely, I (would) have been
مِنَ
among
ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
the righteous
٥٧
Or [lest] it say, "If only Allāh had guided me, I would have been among the righteous."
39:58
أَوۡ
Or
تَقُولَ
it should say
حِينَ
when
تَرَى
it sees
ٱلۡعَذَابَ
the punishment
لَوۡ
If
أَنَّ
only
لِى
for me
كَرَّةً
another chance
فَأَكُونَ
then I could be
مِنَ
among
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
the good-doers
٥٨
Or [lest] it say when it sees the punishment, "If only I had another turn1 so I could be among the doers of good."
39:59
بَلَىٰ
Yes
قَدۡ
verily
جَآءَتۡكَ
came to you
ءَايَـٰتِى
My Verses
فَكَذَّبۡتَ
but you denied
بِهَا
them
وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرۡتَ
and were arrogant
وَكُنتَ
and you were
مِنَ
among
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
the disbelievers
٥٩
But yes, there had come to you My verses, but you denied them and were arrogant, and you were among the disbelievers.
39:60
وَيَوۡمَ
And (on the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ
(of) the Resurrection
تَرَى
you will see
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَذَبُواۡ
lied
عَلَى
about
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
وُجُوهُهُم
their faces
مُّسۡوَدَّةٌ‌ۚ
(will be) blackened
أَلَيۡسَ
Is (there) not
فِى
in
جَهَنَّمَ
Hell
مَثۡوًى
an abode
لِّلۡمُتَكَبِّرِينَ
for the arrogant
٦٠
And on the Day of Resurrection you will see those who lied about Allāh [with] their faces blackened. Is there not in Hell a residence for the arrogant?
39:61
وَيُنَجِّى
And Allah will deliver
ٱللَّهُ
And Allah will deliver
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ٱتَّقَوۡاۡ
feared (Him)
بِمَفَازَتِهِمۡ
to their place of salvation
لَا
not
يَمَسُّهُمُ
will touch them
ٱلسُّوٓءُ
the evil
وَلَا
and not
هُمۡ
they
يَحۡزَنُونَ
will grieve
٦١
And Allāh will save those who feared Him by their attainment;1 no evil will touch them, nor will they grieve.
39:62
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
خَـٰلِقُ
(is the) Creator
كُلِّ
(of) all
شَىۡءٍ‌ۖ
things
وَهُوَ
and He
عَلَىٰ
(is) over
كُلِّ
all
شَىۡءٍ
things
وَكِيلٌ
a Guardian
٦٢
Allāh is the Creator of all things, and He is, over all things, Disposer of affairs.
39:63
لَّهُۥ
For Him
مَقَالِيدُ
(are the) keys
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۗ
and the earth
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِ
in (the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
those
هُمُ
they
ٱلۡخَـٰسِرُونَ
(are) the losers
٦٣
To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. And they who disbelieve in the verses of Allāh - it is those who are the losers.
39:64
قُلۡ
Say
أَفَغَيۡرَ
Is (it) other than
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
تَأۡمُرُوٓنِّىٓ
you order me
أَعۡبُدُ
(to) worship
أَيُّهَا
O
ٱلۡجَـٰهِلُونَ
ignorant ones
٦٤
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Is it other than Allāh that you order me to worship, O ignorant ones?"
39:65
وَلَقَدۡ
And verily
أُوحِىَ
it has been revealed
إِلَيۡكَ
to you
وَإِلَى
and to
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
مِن
(were) before you
قَبۡلِكَ
(were) before you
لَئِنۡ
if
أَشۡرَكۡتَ
you associate (with Allah)
لَيَحۡبَطَنَّ
surely, will become worthless
عَمَلُكَ
your deeds
وَلَتَكُونَنَّ
and you will surely be
مِنَ
among
ٱلۡخَـٰسِرِينَ
the losers
٦٥
And it was already revealed to you and to those before you that if you should associate [anything] with Allāh, your work would surely become worthless, and you would surely be among the losers.
39:66
بَلِ
Nay

ٱللَّهُۚ
So Allah seized them
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, He
قَوِىٌّ
(is) All-Strong
شَدِيدُ
severe
ٱلۡعِقَابِ
(in) punishment
٢٢
That was because their messengers were coming to them with clear proofs, but they disbelieved, so Allāh seized them. Indeed, He is Powerful and severe in punishment.
40:23
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
مُوسَىٰ
Musa
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا
with Our Signs
وَسُلۡطَـٰنٍ
and an authority
مُّبِينٍ
clear
٢٣
And We did certainly send Moses with Our signs and a clear authority1
40:24
إِلَىٰ
To
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firaun
وَهَـٰمَـٰنَ
Haman
وَقَـٰرُونَ
and Qarun
فَقَالُواۡ
but they said
سَـٰحِرٌ
A magician
كَذَّابٌ
a liar
٢٤
To Pharaoh, Hāmān and Qārūn, but they said, "[He is] a magician and a liar."
40:25
فَلَمَّا
Then when
جَآءَهُم
he brought to them
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
the truth
مِنۡ
from
عِندِنَا
Us
قَالُواۡ
they said
ٱقۡتُلُوٓاۡ
Kill
أَبۡنَآءَ
(the) sons
ٱلَّذِينَ
(of) those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
مَعَهُۥ
with him
وَٱسۡتَحۡيُواۡ
and let live
نِسَآءَهُمۡۚ
their women
وَمَا
And not
كَيۡدُ
(is the) plot
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
(of) the disbelievers
إِلَّا
but
فِى
in
ضَلَـٰلٍ
error
٢٥
And when he brought them the truth from Us, they said, "Kill the sons of those who have believed with him and keep their women alive." But the plan of the disbelievers is not except in error.
40:26
وَقَالَ
And said
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
Firaun
ذَرُونِىٓ
Leave me
أَقۡتُلۡ
(so that) I kill
مُوسَىٰ
Musa
وَلۡيَدۡعُ
and let him call
رَبَّهُۥٓ‌ۖ
his Lord
إِنِّىٓ
Indeed, I
أَخَافُ
[I] fear
أَن
that
يُبَدِّلَ
he will change
دِينَكُمۡ
your religion
أَوۡ
or
أَن
that
يُظۡهِرَ
he may cause to appear
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the land
ٱلۡفَسَادَ
the corruption
٢٦
And Pharaoh said, "Let me kill Moses and let him call upon his Lord. Indeed, I fear that he will change your religion or that he will cause corruption1 in the land."
40:27
وَقَالَ
And said
مُوسَىٰٓ
Musa
إِنِّى
Indeed, I
عُذۡتُ
[I] seek refuge
بِرَبِّى
in my Lord
وَرَبِّكُم

كُلِّ

arrogant one
لَّا

who believes
بِيَوۡمِ
(in the) Day
ٱلۡحِسَابِ
(of) the Account
٢٧
But Moses said, "Indeed, I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant one who does not believe in the Day of Account."
40:28
وَقَالَ
And said
رَجُلٌ
a man
مُّؤۡمِنٌ
believing
مِّنۡ
from

(the) family
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
(of) Firaun
يَكۡتُمُ
who conceal(ed)

أَتَقۡتُلُونَ
Will you kill
رَجُلاً

رَبِّىَ
My Lord
ٱللَّهُ

رَّبِّكُمۡۖ
your Lord

(is) his lie
وَإِن
and if
يَكُ
he is
صَادِقًا
truthful
يُصِبۡكُم
(there) will strike you
بَعۡضُ
some (of)
ٱلَّذِى
(that) which
يَعِدُكُمۡۖ
he threatens you
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
لَا
(does) not
يَهۡدِى
guide
مَنۡ
(one) who
هُوَ
[he]
مُسۡرِفٌ
(is) a transgressor
كَذَّابٌ
a liar
٢٨
And a believing man from the family of Pharaoh who concealed his faith said, "Do you kill a man [merely] because he says, 'My Lord is Allāh' while he has brought you clear proofs from your Lord? And if he should be lying, then upon him is [the consequence of] his lie; but if he should be truthful, there will strike you some of what he promises you. Indeed, Allāh does not guide one who is a transgressor and a liar.
40:29
يَـٰقَوۡمِ
O my people
لَكُمُ
For you
ٱلۡمُلۡكُ

ٱلرَّشَادِ
the right
٢٩
O my people, sovereignty is yours today, [your being] dominant in the land. But who would protect us from the punishment of Allāh if it came to us?" Pharaoh said, "I do not show you except what I see, and I do not guide you except to the way of right conduct."
40:30
وَقَالَ
And said
ٱلَّذِىٓ
(he) who

يَـٰقَوۡمِ
O my people
إِنِّىٓ
Indeed I
أَخَافُ
[I] fear
عَلَيۡكُم
for you
مِّثۡلَ
like
يَوۡمِ
(the) day
ٱلۡأَحۡزَابِ
(of) the companies
٣٠
And he who believed said, "O my people, indeed I fear for you [a fate] like the day of the companies1 -
40:31
مِثۡلَ
Like

ٱللَّهُ
And Allah (does) not
يُرِيدُ
want

injustice
لِّلۡعِبَادِ
for (His) slaves
٣١
Like the custom of the people of Noah and of ʿAad and Thamūd and those after them. And Allāh wants no injustice for [His] servants.
40:32
وَيَـٰقَوۡمِ
And O my people
إِنِّىٓ
Indeed, I
أَخَافُ
[I] fear
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
for you
يَوۡمَ
(the) Day
ٱلتَّنَادِ
(of) Calling
٣٢
And O my people, indeed I fear for you the Day of Calling1 -
40:33
يَوۡمَ
A Day
تُوَلُّونَ
you will turn back
مُدۡبِرِينَ
fleeing
مَا
not
لَكُم
for you
مِّنَ
from
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
مِنۡ
any
عَاصِمٍۗ
protector
وَمَن
And whoever
يُضۡلِلِ
Allah lets go astray
ٱللَّهُ
Allah lets go astray
فَمَا
then not
لَهُۥ
for him
مِنۡ
any
هَادٍ
guide
٣٣
The Day you will turn your backs fleeing; there is not for you from Allāh any protector. And whoever Allāh sends astray - there is not for him any guide.
40:34
وَلَقَدۡ
And indeed
جَآءَكُمۡ
came to you
يُوسُفُ
Yusuf
مِن
before
قَبۡلُ
before
بِٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتِ
with clear proofs
فَمَا
but not
زِلۡتُمۡ
you ceased
فِى
in
شَكٍّ
doubt
مِّمَّا
about what
جَآءَكُم
he brought to you
بِهِۦۖ
[with it]
حَتَّىٰٓ
until
إِذَا
when
هَلَكَ
he died
قُلۡتُمۡ
you said
لَن
Never
يَبۡعَثَ
will Allah raise
ٱللَّهُ
will Allah raise
مِنۢ
after him
بَعۡدِهِۦ
after him
رَسُوۚلاً
a Messenger
كَذٰلِكَ
Thus
يُضِلُّ
Allah lets go astray
ٱللَّهُ
Allah lets go astray
مَنۡ
who
هُوَ
[he]
مُسۡرِفٌ
(is) a transgressor
مُّرۡتَابٌ
a doubter
٣٤
And Joseph had already come to you before with clear proofs, but you remained in doubt of that which he brought to you, until when he died, you said, 'Never will Allāh send a messenger after him.' Thus does Allāh leave astray he who is a transgressor and skeptic."
40:35
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
يُجَـٰدِلُونَ
dispute
فِىٓ
concerning
ءَايَـٰتِ
(the) Signs
ٱللَّهِ

بِغَيۡرِ
without
سُلۡطَـٰنٍ
any authority
أَتَـٰهُمۡۖ
(having) come to them
كَبُرَ
(it) is greatly
مَقۡتًا
hateful
عِندَ
near Allah
ٱللَّهِ
near Allah
وَعِندَ
and near
ٱلَّذِينَ
those
ءَامَنُواۡۚ
who believe
كَذٰلِكَ
Thus
يَطۡبَعُ
Allah sets a seal
ٱللَّهُ
Allah sets a seal
عَلَىٰ
over
كُلِّ
every
قَلۡبِ
heart
مُتَكَبِّرٍ
(of) an arrogant
جَبَّارٍ
tyrant
٣٥
Those who dispute concerning the signs of Allāh without an authority1 having come to them - great is hatred [of them] in the sight of Allāh and in the sight of those who have believed. Thus does Allāh seal over every heart [belonging to] an arrogant tyrant.
40:36
وَقَالَ
And said
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
Firaun
يَـٰهَـٰمَـٰنُ
O Haman

ٱلۡأَسۡبَـٰبَ
the ways
٣٦
And Pharaoh said, "O Hāmān, construct for me a tower that I might reach the ways1 -
40:37
أَسۡبَـٰبَ
(The) ways
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
(to) the heavens
فَأَطَّلِعَ
so I may look

إِلَـٰهِ
(the) God
مُوسَىٰ
(of) Musa
وَإِنِّى
and indeed, I
لَأَظُنُّهُۥ
[I] surely think him
كَـٰذِبًاۚ
(to be) a liar
وَكَذٰلِكَ
And thus
زُيِّنَ
was made fair-seeming
لِفِرۡعَوۡنَ
to Firaun
سُوٓءُ
(the) evil
عَمَلِهِۦ
(of) his deed
وَصُدَّ
and he was averted
عَنِ
from
ٱلسَّبِيلِۚ
the way
وَمَا
And not
كَيۡدُ
(was the) plot
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
(of) Firaun
إِلَّا
except
فِى
in
تَبَابٍ
ruin
٣٧
The ways into the heavens - so that I may look at the deity of Moses; but indeed, I think he is a liar." And thus was made attractive to Pharaoh the evil of his deed, and he was averted from the [right] way. And the plan of Pharaoh was not except in ruin.
40:38
وَقَالَ
And said
ٱلَّذِىٓ
the one who
ءَامَنَ
believed
يَـٰقَوۡمِ
O my people
ٱتَّبِعُونِ
Follow me
أَهۡدِكُمۡ
I will guide you
سَبِيلَ
(to the) way
ٱلرَّشَادِ
the right
٣٨
And he who believed said, "O my people, follow me; I will guide you to the way of right conduct.
40:39
يَـٰقَوۡمِ
O my people
إِنَّمَا
Only
هَـٰذِهِ
this
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ
the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
(of) the world
مَتَـٰعٌ
(is) enjoyment
وَإِنَّ
and indeed
ٱلۡأَخِرَةَ
the Hereafter
هِىَ
it
دَارُ
(is the) home
ٱلۡقَرَارِ
(of) settlement
٣٩
O my people, this worldly life is only [temporary] enjoyment, and indeed, the Hereafter - that is the home of [permanent] settlement.
40:40
مَنۡ
Whoever
عَمِلَ
does
سَيِّئَةً
an evil
فَلَا
then not
يُجۡزَىٰٓ
he will be recompensed
إِلَّا
but
مِثۡلَهَاۖ
(the) like thereof
وَمَنۡ
and whoever
عَمِلَ
does
صَـٰلِحًا
righteous (deeds)
مِّن

أُنثَىٰ
female
وَهُوَ
while he
مُؤۡمِنٌ

ٱلۡجَنَّةَ
Paradise
يُرۡزَقُونَ
they will be given provision
فِيهَا
in it
بِغَيۡرِ
without
حِسَابٍ
account
٤٠
Whoever does an evil deed will not be recompensed except by the like thereof; but whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - those will enter Paradise, being given provision therein without account.
40:41
۞وَيَـٰقَوۡمِ
And O my people
مَا
What (is)

for me
أَدۡعُوكُمۡ
(that) I call you
إِلَى
to
ٱلنَّجَوٰةِ
the salvation
وَتَدۡعُونَنِىٓ
while you call me
إِلَى
to
ٱلنَّارِ
the Fire
٤١
And O my people, how is it that I invite you to salvation while you invite me to the Fire?
40:42
تَدۡعُونَنِى
You call me
لِأَكۡفُرَ
that I disbelieve
بِٱللَّهِ
in Allah
وَأُشۡرِكَ
and (to) associate
بِهِۦ
with Him
مَا
what
لَيۡسَ
not
لِى
for me
بِهِۦ
of it
عِلۡمٌ
any knowledge
وَأَنَاۡ

أَدۡعُوكُمۡ
call you
إِلَى
to
ٱلۡعَزِيزِ
the All-Mighty
ٱلۡغَفَّـٰرِ
the Oft-Forgiving
٤٢
You invite me to disbelieve in Allāh and associate with Him that of which I have no knowledge, and I invite you to the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver.1
40:43
لَا
No
جَرَمَ
doubt
أَنَّمَا
that what
تَدۡعُونَنِىٓ
you call me
إِلَيۡهِ
to it
لَيۡسَ
not
لَهُۥ
for it
دَعۡوَةٌ
a claim
فِى
in
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
the world
وَلَا
and not
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ
the Hereafter
وَأَنَّ
and that
مَرَدَّنَآ
our return
إِلَى

ٱللَّهِ
Allah
وَأَنَّ
and that
ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ
the transgressors
هُمۡ
they
أَصۡحَـٰبُ
(will be the) companions
ٱلنَّارِ
(of) the Fire
٤٣
Assuredly, that to which you invite me has no [response to a] supplication in this world or in the Hereafter; and indeed, our return is to Allāh, and indeed, the transgressors will be companions of the Fire.
40:44
فَسَتَذۡكُرُونَ
And you will remember
مَآ
what
أَقُولُ
I say
لَكُمۡۚ
to you

إِلَى
to
ٱللَّهِۚ
Allah
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
بَصِيرُۢ
(is) All-Seer
بِٱلۡعِبَادِ
of (His) slaves
٤٤
And you will remember what I [now] say to you, and I entrust my affair to Allāh. Indeed, Allāh is Seeing of [His] servants."
40:45
فَوَقَـٰهُ
So Allah protected him
ٱللَّهُ
So Allah protected him
سَيِّـَٔـاتِ
(from the) evils
مَا
that
مَكَرُواۡۖ

(the) people
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
(of) Firaun
سُوٓءُ
(the) worst
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
punishment
٤٥
So Allāh protected him from the evils they plotted, and the people of Pharaoh were enveloped by the worst of punishment -
40:46
ٱلنَّارُ
The Fire
يُعۡرَضُونَ
they are exposed
عَلَيۡهَا
to it
غُدُوًّا
morning

وَيَوۡمَ
And (the) Day
تَقُومُ

ٱلسَّاعَةُ
the Hour
أَدۡخِلُوٓاۡ
Cause to enter

(the) people
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
(of) Firaun
أَشَدَّ
(in the) severest
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
punishment
٤٦
The Fire; they are exposed to it morning and evening.1 And the Day the Hour appears [it will be said], "Make the people of Pharaoh enter the severest punishment."
40:47
وَإِذۡ
And when
يَتَحَآجُّونَ
they will dispute
فِى
in
ٱلنَّارِ
the Fire
فَيَقُولُ
then will say
ٱلضُّعَفَـٰٓؤُاۡ
the weak
لِلَّذِينَ
to those who
ٱسۡتَكۡبَرُوٓاۡ
were arrogant
إِنَّا
Indeed, we

followers
فَهَلۡ

أَنتُم
you
مُّغۡنُونَ
avert
عَنَّا
from us
نَصِيبًا
a portion
مِّنَ
of
ٱلنَّارِ
the Fire
٤٧
And [mention] when they will argue within the Fire, and the weak will say to those who had been arrogant, "Indeed, we were [only] your followers, so will you relieve us of a share of the Fire?"
40:48
قَالَ
Will say
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ٱسۡتَكۡبَرُوٓاۡ

إِنَّا
Indeed, we
كُلٌّ
all
فِيهَآ

إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
قَدۡ
certainly
حَكَمَ
has judged
بَيۡنَ
between
ٱلۡعِبَادِ
(His) slaves
٤٨
Those who had been arrogant will say, "Indeed, all [of us] are in it. Indeed, Allāh has judged between the servants."
40:49
وَقَالَ
And will say
ٱلَّذِينَ
those
فِى

ٱلنَّارِ
the Fire
لِخَزَنَةِ
to (the) keepers
جَهَنَّمَ
(of) Hell

Call
رَبَّكُمۡ
your Lord
يُخَفِّفۡ
(to) lighten
عَنَّا
for us
يَوۡمًا
a day
مِّنَ
of
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
the punishment
٤٩
And those in the Fire will say to the keepers of Hell, "Supplicate your Lord to lighten for us a day from the punishment."
40:50
قَالُوٓاۡ
They (will) say
أَوَلَمۡ
Did there not
تَكُ
Did there not
تَأۡتِيكُمۡ
come to you
رُسُلُكُم
your Messengers
بِٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتِۖ
with clear proofs
قَالُواۡ
They (will) say
بَلَىٰۚ
Yes
قَالُواۡ
They (will) say
فَٱدۡعُواۡۗ
Then call
وَمَا
but not
دُعَـٰٓؤُاۡ
(is the) call
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
(of) the disbelievers
إِلَّا
except
فِى
in
ضَلَـٰلٍ
error
٥٠
They will say, "Did there not come to you your messengers with clear proofs?" They will say, "Yes." They will reply, "Then supplicate [yourselves], but the supplication of the disbelievers is not except in error [i.e., futility]."
40:51
إِنَّا
Indeed We
لَنَنصُرُ
We will surely help
رُسُلَنَا
Our Messengers
وَٱلَّذِينَ
and those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
فِى
in
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
(of) the world
وَيَوۡمَ
and (on the) Day
يَقُومُ
(when) will stand
ٱلۡأَشۡهَـٰدُ
the witnesses
٥١
Indeed, We will support Our messengers and those who believe during the life of this world and on the Day when the witnesses will stand -
40:52
يَوۡمَ
(The) Day
لَا
not
يَنفَعُ
will benefit
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
the wrongdoers
مَعۡذِرَتُهُمۡۖ
their excuse
وَلَهُمُ
and for them
ٱللَّعۡنَةُ
(is) the curse
وَلَهُمۡ
and for them
سُوٓءُ
(is the) worst
ٱلدَّارِ
home
٥٢
The Day their excuse will not benefit the wrongdoers, and they will have the curse, and they will have the worst home [i.e., Hell].
40:53
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
ءَاتَيۡنَا
We gave
مُوسَى
Musa
ٱلۡهُدَىٰ
the guidance
وَأَوۡرَثۡنَا
and We caused to inherit
بَنِىٓ
(the) Children of Israel
إِسۡرٰٓءِيلَ
(the) Children of Israel
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ
the Book
٥٣
And We had certainly given Moses guidance, and We caused the Children of Israel to inherit the Scripture
40:54
هُدًى
A guide
وَذِكۡرَىٰ
and a reminder
لِأُوۡلِى
for those
ٱلۡأَلۡبَـٰبِ
(of) understanding
٥٤
As guidance and a reminder for those of understanding.
40:55
فَٱصۡبِرۡ
So be patient
إِنَّ
indeed
وَعۡدَ
(the) Promise of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
(the) Promise of Allah
حَقٌّ

لِذَنۢبِكَ
for your sin
وَسَبِّحۡ
and glorify
بِحَمۡدِ
(the) praise
رَبِّكَ
(of) your Lord
بِٱلۡعَشِىِّ
in the evening
وَٱلۡإِبۡكَـٰرِ
and the morning
٥٥
So be patient, [O Muḥammad]. Indeed, the promise of Allāh is truth. And ask forgiveness for your sin1 and exalt [Allāh] with praise of your Lord in the evening and the morning.
40:56
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ

إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed He
هُوَ
He
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
(is) the All-Hearer
ٱلۡبَصِيرُ
the All-Seer
٥٦
Indeed, those who dispute concerning the signs of Allāh without [any] evidence having come to them - there is not within their breasts except pride, [the extent of] which they cannot reach. So seek refuge in Allāh. Indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Seeing.
40:57
لَخَلۡقُ
Surely, (the) creation

The creation of the heavens and earth is greater than the creation of mankind, but most of the people do not know.

Indeed, the Hour is coming - no doubt about it - but most of the people do not believe.
40:60

٦٠
And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you." Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible.

ٱلنَّاسِ
(of) the people

٦١
It is Allāh who made for you the night that you may rest therein and the day giving sight.1 Indeed, Allāh is the possessor of bounty for the people, but most of them are not grateful.
40:62
ذٰلِكُمُ

٦٢
That is Allāh, your Lord, Creator of all things; there is no deity except Him, so how are you deluded?
40:63
كَذٰلِكَ
Thus

ٱلَّذِينَ
those who

يَجۡحَدُونَ

٦٣
Thus were those [before you] deluded who were rejecting the signs of Allāh.
40:64
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
ٱلَّذِى

Then blessed (is)

Allah
رَبُّ
(the) Lord
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
(of) the worlds
٦٤
It is Allāh who made for you the earth a place of settlement and the sky a structure [i.e., ceiling] and formed you and perfected your forms and provided you with good things. That is Allāh, your Lord; then blessed is Allāh, Lord of the worlds.
40:65
هُوَ

٦٥
He is the Ever-Living;1 there is no deity except Him, so call upon Him, [being] sincere to Him in religion. [All] praise is [due] to Allāh, Lord of the worlds.
40:66
۞قُلۡ

٦٦
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Indeed, I have been forbidden to worship those you call upon besides Allāh once the clear proofs have come to me from my Lord, and I have been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds."
40:67
هُوَ
He
ٱلَّذِى

He brings you out

ثُمَّ
then
لِتَبۡلُغُوٓاۡ
lets you reach
أَشُدَّكُمۡ
your maturity
ثُمَّ
then

and that you may
تَعۡقِلُونَ
use reason
٦٧
It is He who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot; then He brings you out as a child; then [He develops you] that you reach your [time of] maturity, then [further] that you become elders. And among you is he who is taken in death before [that], so that you reach a specified term;1 and perhaps you will use reason.
40:68
هُوَ
He
ٱلَّذِى

٦٨
He it is who gives life and causes death; and when He decrees a matter, He but says to it, "Be," and it is.
40:69

Do you not consider those who dispute concerning the signs of Allāh - how are they averted?
40:70
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who

٧٠
Those who deny the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] and that with which We sent Our messengers - they are going to know,
40:71
إِذِ
When
ٱلۡأَغۡلَـٰلُ

٧١
When the shackles are around their necks and the chains; they will be dragged
40:72

the boiling water

٧٢
In boiling water; then in the Fire they will be filled [with flame].
40:73
ثُمَّ
Then

to them

Then it will be said to them, "Where is that which you used to associate [with Him in worship]

٧٤
Other than Allāh?" They will say, "They have departed from us; rather, we did not used to invoke previously anything." Thus does Allāh put astray the disbelievers.
40:75
ذٰلِكُم

[The angels will say], "That was because you used to exult upon the earth without right and you used to behave insolently.

ٱلۡمُتَكَبِّرِينَ
(of) the arrogant
٧٦
Enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and wretched is the residence of the arrogant."
40:77
فَٱصۡبِرۡ
So be patient
إِنَّ
indeed
وَعۡدَ
(the) Promise
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
حَۚقٌّ

فَإِمَّا
And whether
نُرِيَنَّكَ
We show you

some
ٱلَّذِى
(of) what
نَعِدُهُمۡ
We have promised them
أَوۡ
or
نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ
We cause you to die
فَإِلَيۡنَا
then to Us
يُرۡجَعُونَ
they will be returned
٧٧
So be patient, [O Muḥammad]; indeed, the promise of Allāh is truth. And whether We show you some of what We have promised them or We take you in death, it is to Us they will be returned.
40:78
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We have sent
رُسُلاً
Messengers
مِّن
before you
قَبۡلِكَ
before you
مِنۡهُم
Among them
مَّن
(are) who
قَصَصۡنَا
We have related
عَلَيۡكَ
to you
وَمِنۡهُم
and among them
مَّن
(are) who
لَّمۡ
not
نَقۡصُصۡ
We have related
عَلَيۡكَۗ
to you
وَمَا
And not
كَانَ
is
لِرَسُولٍ
for any Messenger
أَن
that
يَأۡتِىَ
he brings
بِـَٔـايَةٍ
a Sign
إِلَّا
except
بِإِذۡنِ
by (the) permission
ٱللَّهِۚ
(of) Allah
فَإِذَا
So when
جَآءَ
comes
أَمۡرُ
(the) Command
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
قُضِىَ
it will be decided
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
in truth
وَخَسِرَ
and will lose
هُنَالِكَ
there
ٱلۡمُبۡطِلُونَ
the falsifiers
٧٨
And We have already sent messengers before you. Among them are those [whose stories] We have related to you, and among them are those [whose stories] We have not related to you. And it was not for any messenger to bring a sign [or verse] except by permission of Allāh. So when the command of Allāh comes, it will be concluded [i.e., judged] in truth, and the falsifiers will thereupon lose [all].
40:79
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
ٱلَّذِى

تَأۡكُلُونَ
you eat
٧٩
It is Allāh who made for you the grazing animals upon which you ride, and some of them you eat.
40:80
وَلَكُمۡ
And for you
فِيهَا
in them
مَنَـٰفِعُ
(are) benefits
وَلِتَبۡلُغُواۡ
and that you may reach
عَلَيۡهَا
through them
حَاجَةً
a need
فِى
(that is) in
صُدُورِكُمۡ
your breasts
وَعَلَيۡهَا
and upon them
وَعَلَى
and upon
ٱلۡفُلۡكِ
the ships
تُحۡمَلُونَ
you are carried
٨٠
And for you therein are [other] benefits and that you may realize upon them a need which is in your breasts;1 and upon them and upon ships you are carried.
40:81
وَيُرِيكُمۡ
And He shows you
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ
His Signs
فَأَىَّ
Then which
ءَايَـٰتِ
(of the) Signs
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
تُنكِرُونَ
will you deny
٨١
And He shows you His signs. So which of the signs of Allāh do you deny?
40:82
أَفَلَمۡ
Do they not
يَسِيرُواۡ
travel
فِى
through
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the land
فَيَنظُرُواۡ
and see
كَيۡفَ
how
كَانَ
was
عَـٰقِبَةُ
(the) end
ٱلَّذِينَ
(of) those who
مِن
(were) before them
قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ
(were) before them
كَانُوٓاۡ
They were
أَكۡثَرَ
more numerous
مِنۡهُمۡ
than them
وَأَشَدَّ
and mightier
قُوَّةً
(in) strength
وَءَاثَارًا
and impressions
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the land
فَمَآ
but not
أَغۡنَىٰ
availed
عَنۡهُم
them
مَّا
what
كَانُواۡ
they used to
يَكۡسِبُونَ
earn
٨٢
Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those before them? They were more numerous than themselves and greater in strength and in impression on the land, but they were not availed by what they used to earn.
40:83
فَلَمَّا
Then when
جَآءَتۡهُمۡ
came to them
رُسُلُهُم
their Messengers
بِٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتِ
with clear proofs
فَرِحُواۡ
they rejoiced
بِمَا
in what
عِندَهُم
they had
مِّنَ
of
ٱلۡعِلۡمِ
the knowledge
وَحَاقَ
and enveloped
بِهِم
them
مَّا
what
كَانُواۡ
they used to
بِهِۦ
[at it]
يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
mock
٨٣
And when their messengers came to them with clear proofs, they [merely] rejoiced in what they had of knowledge, but they were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.
40:84
فَلَمَّا
So when
رَأَوۡاۡ
they saw
بَأۡسَنَا
Our punishment
قَالُوٓاۡ
they said
ءَامَنَّا
We believe
بِٱللَّهِ
in Allah
وَحۡدَهُۥ
Alone
وَكَفَرۡنَا
and we disbelieve
بِمَا
in what
كُنَّا
we used to
بِهِۦ
with Him
مُشۡرِكِينَ
associate
٨٤
And when they saw Our punishment, they said, "We believe in Allāh alone and disbelieve in that which we used to associate with Him."
40:85
فَلَمۡ
But did not
يَكُ
But did not
يَنفَعُهُمۡ
benefit them
إِيمَـٰنُهُمۡ
their faith
لَمَّا
when
رَأَوۡاۡ
they saw
بَأۡسَنَاۖ
Our punishment
سُنَّتَ
(Such is the) Way
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
ٱلَّتِى
which
قَدۡ
(has) indeed

عِبَادِهِۖۦ
His slaves
وَخَسِرَ
And are lost
هُنَالِكَ
there
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ
the disbelievers
٨٥
But never did their faith benefit them once they saw Our punishment. [It is] the established way of Allāh which has preceded among His servants. And the disbelievers thereupon lost [all].

Say, [O Muḥammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allāh
41:7
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
لَا
(do) not
يُؤۡتُونَ
give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
the zakah
وَهُم
and they
بِٱلۡأَخِرَةِ
in the Hereafter
هُمۡ
they
كَـٰفِرُونَ
(are) disbelievers
٧
Those who do not give zakāh, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers.
41:8
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
وَعَمِلُواۡ
and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
righteous deeds
لَهُمۡ
for them
أَجۡرٌ
(is) a reward
غَيۡرُ
never ending
مَمۡنُونٍ
never ending
٨
Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted.
41:9
۞قُلۡ
Say
أَئِنَّكُمۡ
Do you indeed
لَتَكۡفُرُونَ
[surely] disbelieve
بِٱلَّذِى
in the One Who
خَلَقَ
created
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
the earth
فِى
in
يَوۡمَيۡنِ
two periods
وَتَجۡعَلُونَ
and you set up
لَهُۥٓ
with Him
أَندَادًا‌ۚ
rivals
ذٰلِكَ
That
رَبُّ
(is the) Lord
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
(of) the worlds
٩
Say, "Do you indeed disbelieve in He who created the earth in two days and attribute to Him equals? That is the Lord of the worlds."
41:10
وَجَعَلَ
And He placed
فِيهَا
therein
رَوٰسِىَ
firmly-set mountains
مِن
above it
فَوۡقِهَا
above it
وَبَـٰرَكَ
and He blessed
فِيهَا
therein
وَقَدَّرَ
and determined
فِيهَآ
therein
أَقۡوٰتَهَا
its sustenance
فِىٓ
in
أَرۡبَعَةِ
four
أَيَّامٍ
periods
سَوَآءً
equal
لِّلسَّآئِلِينَ
for those who ask
١٠
And He placed on it [i.e., the earth] firmly set mountains over its surface, and He blessed it and determined therein its [creatures'] sustenance in four days without distinction1 - for [the information of] those who ask.
41:11
ثُمَّ
Then
ٱسۡتَوَىٰٓ
He directed (Himself)
إِلَى
towards
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the heaven
وَهِىَ
while it (was)
دُخَانٌ
smoke
فَقَالَ
and He said
لَهَا
to it
وَلِلۡأَرۡضِ
and to the earth
ٱئۡتِيَا
Come both of you
طَوۡعًا
willingly
أَوۡ
or
كَرۡهًا
unwillingly
قَالَتَآ
They both said
أَتَيۡنَا
We come
طَآئِعِينَ
willingly
١١
Then He directed Himself1 to the heaven while it was smoke and said to it and to the earth, "Come [into being],2 willingly or by compulsion." They said, "We have come willingly."
41:12
فَقَضَـٰهُنَّ
Then He completed them
سَبۡعَ
(as) seven
سَمَـٰوَاتٍ
heavens
فِى
in
يَوۡمَيۡنِ
two periods
وَأَوۡحَىٰ
and He revealed
فِى
in
كُلِّ
each
سَمَآءٍ
heaven
أَمۡرَهَا‌ۚ
its affair
وَزَيَّنَّا
And We adorned
ٱلسَّمَآءَ
the heaven
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
[the world]
بِمَصَـٰبِيحَ
with lamps
وَحِفۡظًا‌ۚ
and (to) guard
ذٰلِكَ
That
تَقۡدِيرُ
(is the) Decree
ٱلۡعَزِيزِ
(of) the All-Mighty
ٱلۡعَلِيمِ
the All-Knower
١٢
And He completed them as seven heavens within two days and inspired [i.e., made known] in each heaven its command. And We adorned the nearest heaven with lamps [i.e., stars, for beauty] and as protection.1 That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.
41:13
فَإِنۡ
But if
أَعۡرَضُواۡ
they turn away
فَقُلۡ
then say
أَنذَرۡتُكُمۡ
I have warned you
صَـٰعِقَةً
(of) a thunderbolt
مِّثۡلَ
like
صَـٰعِقَةِ
(the) thunderbolt
عَادٍ
(of) Aad
وَثَمُودَ
and Thamud
١٣
But if they turn away, then say, "I have warned you of a thunderbolt like the thunderbolt [that struck] ʿAad and Thamūd.
41:14
إِذۡ
When
جَآءَتۡهُمُ
came to them
ٱلرُّسُلُ
the Messengers
مِنۢ
from before them
بَيۡنِ
from before them
أَيۡدِيهِمۡ
from before them
وَمِنۡ
and from
خَلۡفِهِمۡ
behind them
أَلَّا
(saying) "Do not
تَعۡبُدُوٓاۡ
worship
إِلَّا
except
ٱللَّهَ‌ۖ
Allah
قَالُواۡ
They said
لَوۡ
If
شَآءَ
(had) willed
رَبُّنَا
our Lord
لَأَنزَلَ
surely, He (would have) sent down
مَلَـٰٓئِكَةً
Angels
فَإِنَّا
So indeed, we
بِمَآ
in what
أُرۡسِلۡتُم
you have been sent
بِهِۦ
with
كَـٰفِرُونَ
(are) disbelievers
١٤
[That occurred] when the messengers had come to them before them and after them, [saying], "Worship not except Allāh." They said, "If our Lord had willed,1 He would have sent down the angels, so indeed we, in that with which you have been sent, are disbelievers."
41:15
فَأَمَّا
Then as for
عَادٌ
Aad
فَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواۡ
they were arrogant
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the land
بِغَيۡرِ
without
ٱلۡحَقِّ
[the] right
وَقَالُواۡ
and they said
مَنۡ
Who
أَشَدُّ
(is) mightier
مِنَّا
than us
قُوَّةً‌ۖ
(in) strength
أَوَلَمۡ
Do not
يَرَوۡاۡ
they see
أَنَّ
that
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
ٱلَّذِى
the One Who
خَلَقَهُمۡ
created them
هُوَ
He
أَشَدُّ
(is) Mightier
مِنۡهُمۡ
than them
قُوَّةً‌ۖ
(in) strength
وَكَانُواۡ
But they used to
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا
in Our Signs
يَجۡحَدُونَ
deny
١٥
As for ʿAad, they were arrogant upon the earth without right and said, "Who is greater than us in strength?" Did they not consider that Allāh who created them was greater than them in strength? But they were rejecting Our signs.
41:16
فَأَرۡسَلۡنَا
So We sent
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
upon them
رِيحًا
a wind
صَرۡصَرًا
furious
فِىٓ
in
أَيَّامٍ
(the) days
نَّحِسَاتٍ
(of) misfortune
لِّنُذِيقَهُمۡ
that We may make them taste
عَذَابَ
(the) punishment
ٱلۡخِزۡىِ
(of) disgrace
فِى
in
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا‌ۖ
(of) the world
وَلَعَذَابُ
And surely, (the) punishment
ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ
(of) the Hereafter
أَخۡزَىٰ‌ۖ
(is) more disgracing
وَهُمۡ
and they
لَا
will not be helped
يُنصَرُونَ
will not be helped
١٦
So We sent upon them a screaming wind during days of misfortune to make them taste the punishment of disgrace in the worldly life; but the punishment of the Hereafter is more disgracing, and they will not be helped.
41:17
وَأَمَّا
And as for
ثَمُودُ
Thamud
فَهَدَيۡنَـٰهُمۡ
We guided them
فَٱسۡتَحَبُّواۡ
but they preferred
ٱلۡعَمَىٰ
[the] blindness
عَلَى
over
ٱلۡهُدَىٰ
the guidance
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمۡ
so seized them
صَـٰعِقَةُ
a thunderbolt
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
(of) the punishment
ٱلۡهُونِ
humiliating
بِمَا
for what
كَانُواۡ
they used to
يَكۡسِبُونَ
earn
١٧
And as for Thamūd, We guided them, but they preferred blindness over guidance, so the thunderbolt of humiliating punishment seized them for what they used to earn.
41:18
وَنَجَّيۡنَا
And We saved
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believed
وَكَانُواۡ
and used to
يَتَّقُونَ
fear (Allah)
١٨
And We saved those who believed and used to fear Allāh.
41:19
وَيَوۡمَ
And (the) Day
يُحۡشَرُ
will be gathered
أَعۡدَآءُ
(the) enemies
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
إِلَى
to
ٱلنَّارِ
the Fire
فَهُمۡ
then they
يُوزَعُونَ
will be assembled in rows
١٩
And [mention, O Muḥammad], the Day when the enemies of Allāh will be gathered to the Fire while they are [driven], assembled in rows,
41:20
حَتَّىٰٓ
Until
إِذَا
when
مَا
when
جَآءُوهَا
they come to it
شَهِدَ
(will) testify
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
against them
سَمۡعُهُمۡ
their hearing
وَأَبۡصَـٰرُهُمۡ
and their sight
وَجُلُودُهُم
and their skins
بِمَا
(as) to what
كَانُواۡ
they used to
يَعۡمَلُونَ
do
٢٠
Until, when they reach it, their hearing and their eyes and their skins will testify against them of what they used to do.
41:21
وَقَالُواۡ
And they will say
لِجُلُودِهِمۡ
to their skins
لِمَ
Why do
شَهِدتُّمۡ
you testify
عَلَيۡنَا‌ۖ
against us
قَالُوٓاۡ
They will say
أَنطَقَنَا
Allah made us speak
ٱللَّهُ
Allah made us speak
ٱلَّذِىٓ
the One Who
أَنطَقَ
makes speak
كُلَّ
every
شَىۡءٍ
thing
وَهُوَ
and He
خَلَقَكُمۡ
created you
أَوَّلَ
(the) first
مَرَّةٍ
time
وَإِلَيۡهِ
and to Him
تُرۡجَعُونَ
you will be returned
٢١
And they will say to their skins, "Why have you testified against us?" They will say, "We were made to speak by Allāh, who has made everything speak; and He created you the first time, and to Him you are returned.
41:22
وَمَا
And not
كُنتُمۡ
you were
تَسۡتَتِرُونَ
covering yourselves
أَن
lest
يَشۡهَدَ
testify
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
against you
سَمۡعُكُمۡ
your hearing
وَلَآ
and not
أَبۡصَـٰرُكُمۡ
your sight
وَلَا
and not
جُلُودُكُمۡ
your skins
وَلَـٰكِن
but
ظَنَنتُمۡ
you assumed
أَنَّ
that
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
لَا
(does) not
يَعۡلَمُ
know
كَثِيرًا
much
مِّمَّا
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
you do
٢٢
And you were not covering [i.e., protecting] yourselves,1 lest your hearing testify against you or your sight or your skins, but you assumed that Allāh does not know much of what you do.
41:23
وَذٰلِكُمۡ
And that
ظَنُّكُمُ
(was) your assumption
ٱلَّذِى
which
ظَنَنتُم
you assumed
بِرَبِّكُمۡ
about your Lord
أَرۡدَٮٰكُمۡ
It has ruined you
فَأَصۡبَحۡتُم
and you have become
مِّنَ
of
ٱلۡخَـٰسِرِينَ
the losers
٢٣
And that was your assumption which you assumed about your Lord. It has brought you to ruin, and you have become among the losers."
41:24
فَإِن
Then if
يَصۡبِرُواۡ
they endure
فَٱلنَّارُ
the Fire
مَثۡوًى
(is) an abode
لَّهُمۡ‌ۖ
for them
وَإِن
and if
يَسۡتَعۡتِبُواۡ
they ask for favor
فَمَا
then not
هُم
they
مِّنَ
(will be) of
ٱلۡمُعۡتَبِينَ
those who receive favor
٢٤
So [even] if they are patient, the Fire is a residence for them; and if they ask to appease [Allāh], they will not be of those who are allowed to appease.
41:25
۞وَقَيَّضۡنَا
And We have destined
لَهُمۡ
for them
قُرَنَآءَ
companions
فَزَيَّنُواۡ
(who) made fair-seeming
لَهُم
to them
مَّا
what
بَيۡنَ
(was) before them
أَيۡدِيهِمۡ
(was) before them
وَمَا
and what
خَلۡفَهُمۡ
(was) behind them
وَحَقَّ
and (is) justified
عَلَيۡهِمُ
against them
ٱلۡقَوۡلُ
the Word
فِىٓ
among
أُمَمٍ
nations
قَدۡ
(that have) passed away
خَلَتۡ
(that have) passed away
مِن
before them
قَبۡلِهِم
before them
مِّنَ
of
ٱلۡجِنِّ
the jinn
وَٱلۡإِنسِ‌ۖ
and the men
إِنَّهُمۡ
Indeed, they
كَانُواۡ
were
خَـٰسِرِينَ
losers
٢٥
And We appointed for them companions1 who made attractive to them what was before them and what was behind them [of sin], and the word [i.e., decree] has come into effect upon them among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers.
41:26
وَقَالَ
And said
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
لَا
(Do) not
تَسۡمَعُواۡ
listen
لِهَـٰذَا
to this
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ
Quran
وَٱلۡغَوۡاۡ
and make noise
فِيهِ
therein
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
so that you may
تَغۡلِبُونَ
overcome
٢٦
And those who disbelieve say, "Do not listen to this Qur’ān and speak noisily1 during [the recitation of] it that perhaps you will overcome."
41:27
فَلَنُذِيقَنَّ
But surely We will cause to taste
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
عَذَابًا
a punishment
شَدِيدًا
severe
وَلَنَجۡزِيَنَّهُمۡ
and surely We will recompense them
أَسۡوَأَ
(the) worst
ٱلَّذِى
(of) what
كَانُواۡ
they used to
يَعۡمَلُونَ
do
٢٧
But We will surely cause those who disbelieve to taste a severe punishment, and We will surely recompense them for the worst of what they had been doing.
41:28
ذٰلِكَ
That
جَزَآءُ
(is the) recompense
أَعۡدَآءِ
(of the) enemies
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
ٱلنَّارُ‌ۖ
the Fire
لَهُمۡ
for them
فِيهَا
therein
دَارُ
(is the) home
ٱلۡخُلۡدِ‌ۖ
(of) the eternity
جَزَآءَۢ
(as) recompense
بِمَا
for what
كَانُواۡ
they used to
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا
of Our Verses
يَجۡحَدُونَ
reject
٢٨
That is the recompense of the enemies of Allāh - the Fire. For them therein is the home of eternity as recompense for what they, of Our verses, were rejecting.
41:29
وَقَالَ
And (will) say
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
رَبَّنَآ
Our Lord
أَرِنَا
Show us
ٱلَّذَيۡنِ
those who
أَضَلَّانَا
misled us
مِنَ
of
ٱلۡجِنِّ
the jinn
وَٱلۡإِنسِ
and the men
نَجۡعَلۡهُمَا
(so) we may put them
تَحۡتَ
under
أَقۡدَامِنَا
our feet
لِيَكُونَا
that they be
مِنَ
of
ٱلۡأَسۡفَلِينَ
the lowest
٢٩
And those who disbelieved will [then] say, "Our Lord, show us those who misled us of the jinn and men [so] we may put them under our feet1 that they will be among the lowest."
41:30
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
قَالُواۡ
say
رَبُّنَا
Our Lord
ٱللَّهُ
(is) Allah
ثُمَّ
then
ٱسۡتَقَـٰمُواۡ
stand firm
تَتَنَزَّلُ
will descend
عَلَيۡهِمُ
on them
ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ
the Angels
أَلَّا
(Do) not
تَخَافُواۡ
fear
وَلَا
and (do) not
تَحۡزَنُواۡ
grieve
وَأَبۡشِرُواۡ
but receive the glad tidings
بِٱلۡجَنَّةِ
of Paradise
ٱلَّتِى
which
كُنتُمۡ
you were
تُوعَدُونَ
promised
٣٠
Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allāh" and then remained on a right course - the angels will descend upon them, [saying], "Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised.
41:31
نَحۡنُ
We
أَوۡلِيَآؤُكُمۡ
(are) your protectors
فِى
in
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
(of) the world
وَفِى
and in
ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ‌ۖ
the Hereafter
وَلَكُمۡ
And for you
فِيهَا
therein

وَلَكُمۡ
and for you
فِيهَا
therein
مَا
what
تَدَّعُونَ
you ask
٣١
We [angels] were your allies in worldly life and [are so] in the Hereafter. And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you request [or wish]
41:32
نُزُلاً
A hospitable gift
مِّنۡ
from
غَفُورٍ
(the) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٍ
(the) Most Merciful
٣٢
As accommodation from a [Lord who is] Forgiving and Merciful."
41:33
وَمَنۡ
And who
أَحۡسَنُ
(is) better
قَوۡلاً
(in) speech
مِّمَّن
than (one) who
دَعَآ
invites
إِلَى
to
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
وَعَمِلَ
and does
صَـٰلِحًا
righteous (deeds)
وَقَالَ
and says
إِنَّنِى
Indeed, I am
مِنَ
of
ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ
those who submit
٣٣
And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allāh and does righteousness and says, "Indeed, I am of the Muslims."
41:34
وَلَا
And not
تَسۡتَوِى
(are) equal
ٱلۡحَسَنَةُ
the good (deed)
وَلَا
and
ٱلسَّيِّئَةُ‌ۚ
the evil (deed)
ٱدۡفَعۡ
Repel
بِٱلَّتِى
by (that) which
هِىَ
[it]
أَحۡسَنُ
(is) better
فَإِذَا
then behold
ٱلَّذِى
One who
بَيۡنَكَ
between you
وَبَيۡنَهُۥ
and between him
عَدٰوَةٌ
(was) enmity
كَأَنَّهُۥ
(will become) as if he
وَلِىٌّ
(was) a friend
حَمِيمٌ
intimate
٣٤
And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel [evil] by that [deed] which is better; and thereupon, the one whom between you and him is enmity [will become] as though he was a devoted friend.
41:35
وَمَا
And not
يُلَقَّـٰهَآ
it is granted
إِلَّا
except
ٱلَّذِينَ
(to) those who
صَبَرُواۡ
(are) patient
وَمَا
and not
يُلَقَّـٰهَآ
it is granted
إِلَّا
except
ذُو
(to the) owner
حَظٍّ
(of) fortune
عَظِيمٍ
great
٣٥
But none is granted it except those who are patient, and none is granted it except one having a great portion [of good].
41:36
وَإِمَّا
And if
يَنزَغَنَّكَ
whisper comes to you
مِنَ
from
ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنِ
the Shaitaan
نَزۡغٌ
an evil suggestion
فَٱسۡتَعِذۡ
then seek refuge
بِٱللَّهِ‌ۖ
in Allah
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, He
هُوَ
[He]
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
(is) the All-Hearer
ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
the All-Knower
٣٦
And if there comes to you from Satan an evil suggestion, then seek refuge in Allāh. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
41:37
وَمِنۡ
And of
ءَايَـٰتِهِ
His Signs
ٱلَّيۡلُ
(are) the night
وَٱلنَّهَارُ
and the day
وَٱلشَّمۡسُ
and the sun
وَٱلۡقَمَرُ‌ۚ
and the moon
لَا
(Do) not
تَسۡجُدُواۡ
prostrate
لِلشَّمۡسِ
to the sun
وَلَا
and not
لِلۡقَمَرِ
to the moon
وَٱسۡجُدُواۡ
but prostrate
لِلَّهِ
to Allah
ٱلَّذِى
the One Who
خَلَقَهُنَّ
created them
إِن
if
كُنتُمۡ
you
إِيَّاهُ
Him alone
تَعۡبُدُونَ
worship
٣٧
And of His signs are the night and day and the sun and moon. Do not prostrate to the sun or to the moon, but prostrate to Allāh, who created them, if it should be Him that you worship.1
41:38
فَإِنِ
But if
ٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواۡ
they are arrogant
فَٱلَّذِينَ
then those who
عِندَ
(are) near
رَبِّكَ
your Lord
يُسَبِّحُونَ
glorify

Him
بِٱلَّيۡلِ
by night
وَٱلنَّهَارِ
and day
وَهُمۡ
And they
لَا
(do) not
يَسۡــَٔمُونَ
tire
۩
But if they are arrogant - then those who are near your Lord [i.e., the angels] exalt Him by night and by day, and they do not become weary.
41:39
وَمِنۡ
And among
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ

And of His signs is that you see the earth stilled, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and grows. Indeed, He who has given it life is the Giver of Life to the dead. Indeed, He is over all things competent.
41:40
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
يُلۡحِدُونَ
distort
فِىٓ
[in]
ءَايَـٰتِنَا
Our Verses
لَا
(are) not
يَخۡفَوۡنَ
hidden
عَلَيۡنَآ‌ۗ
from Us
أَفَمَن
So, is (he) who
يُلۡقَىٰ
is cast
فِى
in
ٱلنَّارِ
the Fire
خَيۡرٌ
better
أَم
or
مَّن
(he) who
يَأۡتِىٓ
comes
ءَامِنًا
secure
يَوۡمَ
(on the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ‌ۚ
(of) Resurrection
ٱعۡمَلُواۡ
Do
مَا
what
شِئۡتُمۡ‌ۖ
you will
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, He
بِمَا
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
you do
بَصِيرٌ
(is) All-Seer
٤٠
Indeed, those who inject deviation into Our verses1 are not concealed from Us. So, is he who is cast into the Fire better or he who comes secure on the Day of Resurrection? Do whatever you will; indeed, He is Seeing of what you do.
41:41
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
بِٱلذِّكۡرِ
in the Reminder
لَمَّا
when
جَآءَهُمۡ‌ۖ
it comes to them
وَإِنَّهُۥ
And indeed, it
لَكِتَـٰبٌ
(is) surely a Book
عَزِيزٌ
mighty
٤١
Indeed, those who disbelieve in the message [i.e., the Qur’ān]1 after it has come to them...2 And indeed, it is a mighty3 Book.
41:42
لَّا
Not
يَأۡتِيهِ
comes to it
ٱلۡبَـٰطِلُ
the falsehood
مِنۢ
from
بَيۡنِ
before it
يَدَيۡهِ
before it
وَلَا
and not
مِنۡ
from
خَلۡفِهِۦ‌ۖ
behind it
تَنزِيلٌ
A Revelation
مِّنۡ
from
حَكِيمٍ
(the) All-Wise
حَمِيدٍ
(the) Praiseworthy
٤٢
Falsehood cannot approach it from before it or from behind it; [it is] a revelation from a [Lord who is] Wise and Praiseworthy.
41:43
مَّا
Not
يُقَالُ
is said
لَكَ
to you
إِلَّا
except
مَا
what
قَدۡ
was said
قِيلَ
was said
لِلرُّسُلِ
to the Messengers
مِن
before you
قَبۡلِكَ‌ۚ
before you
إِنَّ
Indeed
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
لَذُو
(is) Possessor
مَغۡفِرَةٍ
(of) forgiveness
وَذُو
and Possessor
عِقَابٍ
(of) penalty
أَلِيمٍ
painful
٤٣
Nothing is said to you, [O Muḥammad], except what was already said to the messengers before you. Indeed, your Lord is a possessor of forgiveness and a possessor of painful penalty.
41:44
وَلَوۡ
And if
جَعَلۡنَـٰهُ
We (had) made it
قُرۡءَانًا
a Quran
أَعۡجَمِيًّا
(in) a foreign (language)
لَّقَالُواۡ
they (would have) said
لَوۡلَا
Why not
فُصِّلَتۡ
are explained in detail
ءَايَـٰتُهُۥٓ‌ۖ
its verses
ءَا۠عۡجَمِىٌّ۬
(Is it) a foreign (language)
وَعَرَبِىٌّ‌ۗ
and an Arab
قُلۡ
Say
هُوَ
It (is)
لِلَّذِينَ
for those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
هُدًى
a guidance
وَشِفَآءٌ‌ۖ
and a healing
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
لَا
(do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
believe
فِىٓ
in
ءَاذَانِهِمۡ
their ears
وَقۡرٌ
(is) deafness
وَهُوَ
and it
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
(is) for them
عَمًى‌ۚ
blindness
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
Those
يُنَادَوۡنَ
are being called
مِن
from
مَّكَانِۭ
a place
بَعِيدٍ
far
٤٤
And if We had made it a foreign [i.e., non-Arabic] Qur’ān, they would have said, "Why are its verses not explained in detail [in our language]? Is it a foreign [recitation] and an Arab [messenger]?" Say, "It is, for those who believe, a guidance and cure." And those who do not believe - in their ears is deafness, and it is upon them blindness. Those are being called from a distant place.1
41:45
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
ءَاتَيۡنَا
We gave
مُوسَى
Musa
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ
the Book
فَٱخۡتُلِفَ
but disputes arose
فِيهِ‌ۗ
therein
وَلَوۡلَا
And had it not been
كَلِمَةٌ
(for) a word
سَبَقَتۡ
(that) preceded
مِن
from
رَّبِّكَ
your Lord
لَقُضِىَ
surely, would have been settled
بَيۡنَهُمۡ‌ۚ
between them
وَإِنَّهُمۡ
But indeed, they
لَفِى
surely (are) in
شَكٍّ
doubt
مِّنۡهُ
about it
مُرِيبٍ
disquieting
٤٥
And We had already given Moses the Scripture, but it came under disagreement.1 And if not for a word [i.e., decree]2 that preceded from your Lord, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed they are, concerning it [i.e., the Qur’ān], in disquieting doubt.
41:46
مَّنۡ
Whoever
عَمِلَ
does
صَـٰلِحًا
righteous deeds
فَلِنَفۡسِهِۦ‌ۖ
then it is for his soul
وَمَنۡ
and whoever
أَسَآءَ
does evil
فَعَلَيۡهَا‌ۗ
then it is against it
وَمَا
And not
رَبُّكَ
(is) your Lord
بِظَلَّـٰمٍ
unjust
لِّلۡعَبِيدِ
to His slaves
٤٦
Whoever does righteousness - it is for his [own] soul; and whoever does evil [does so] against it. And your Lord is not ever unjust to [His] servants.
