جزء 19
3 Surahs339 Versesجزء 19
25:21
۞وَقَالَ
And said
those who
لَا
(do) not
يَرۡجُونَ
expect
لِقَا ٓءَنَا
(the) meeting with Us
لَوۡلَآ
Why not
أُنز ِلَ
are sent down
عَلَيۡنَا
to us
the Angels
أَوۡ
or
نَرَىٰ
we see
رَبَّنَاۗ
our Lord
لَقَدِ
Indeed
they have become arrogant
فِىٓ
within
أَنف ُسِهِمۡ
themselves
وَعَتَوۡ
and (become) insolent
عُتُوًّا
(with) insolence
great
And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves1 and [become] insolent with great insolence.
25:22
يَوۡمَ
(The) Day
يَرَوۡنَ
they see
the Angels
لَا
no
بُشۡرَىٰ
glad tidings
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
(will be) that Day
for the criminals
وَيَقُولُونَ
and they will say
حِجۡ رًا
A partition
forbidden
The day they see the angels1 - no good tidings will there be that day for the criminals, and [the angels] will say, "Prevented and inaccessible."2
25:23
وَقَدِمۡنَآ
And We will proceed
إِلَىٰ
to
مَا
whatever
عَمِلُواۡ
they did
مِنۡ
of
عَمَلٍ
(the) deed(s)
and We will make them
هَبَا ٓءً
(as) dust
dispersed
And We will approach [i.e., regard]1 what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed.
25:24
أَصۡحَـٰ بُ
(The) companions
(of) Paradise
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
خَيۡرٌ
(will be in) a better
abode
and a better
مَقِيلاً
٢٤resting-place
The companions of Paradise, that Day, are [in] a better settlement and better resting place.
25:25
وَيَوۡمَ
And (the) Day
تَشَقَّقُ
will split open
the heavens
بِٱ لۡغَمَـٰ مِ
with the clouds
وَنُزِّلَ
and (will be) sent down
the Angels
تَنز ِيلاً
٢٥descending
And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds,1 and the angels will be sent down in successive descent.
25:26
ٱلۡمُلۡكُ
The Sovereignty
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
(will be) truly
لِلرَّحۡمَـٰ نِۚ
for the Most Gracious
وَكَانَ
And (it will) be
يَوۡمًا
a Day
عَلَى
for
the disbelievers
عَسِيرًا
٢٦difficult
True sovereignty, that Day, is for the Most Merciful. And it will be upon the disbelievers a difficult Day.
25:27
وَيَوۡمَ
And (the) Day
يَعَضُّ
will bite
the wrongdoer
عَلَىٰ
[on]
يَدَيۡهِ
his hands
يَقُولُ
he will say
يَـٰ لَيۡتَنِى
O I wish
I had taken
مَعَ
with
the Messenger
سَبِيلاً
٢٧a way
And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, "Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way.1
25:28
يَـٰ وَيۡلَتَىٰ
O woe to me
لَيۡتَنِى
I wish
لَمۡ
not
أَتَّخِذۡ
I had taken
فُلَانًا
that one
خَلِيلاً
٢٨(as) a friend
Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one1 as a friend.
25:29
لَّقَدۡ
Verily
أَضَلَّنِى
he led me astray
عَنِ
from
the Reminder
بَعۡدَ
after
إِذۡ
[when]
جَا ٓءَنِىۗ
it (had) come to me
وَكَانَ
And is
the Shaitaan
لِلۡإِنس َـٰ نِ
to the man
خَذُولاً
٢٩a deserter
He led me away from the remembrance1 after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter."2
25:30
وَقَالَ
And said
the Messenger
يَـٰ رَبِّ
O my Lord
إِنّ َ
Indeed
قَوۡمِى
my people
took
هَـٰ ذَا
this
the Quran
مَهۡجُورًا
٣٠(as) a forsaken thing
And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur’ān as [a thing] abandoned."1
25:31
وَكَذٰ لِكَ
And thus
جَعَلۡنَا
We have made
لِكُلِّ
for every
نَبِىٍّ
Prophet
عَدُوًّا
an enemy
among
the criminals
وَكَفَىٰ
But sufficient is
بِرَبِّكَ
your Lord
هَادِيًا
(as) a Guide
and a Helper
And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper.
25:32
وَقَالَ
And said
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
لَوۡلَا
Why not
نُزِّلَ
was revealed
عَلَيۡهِ
to him
the Quran
جُمۡلَةً
all at once
all at once
Thus
لِنُثَبِّتَ
that We may strengthen
بِهِۦ
thereby
فُؤَادَكَۖ
your heart
وَرَتَّلۡنَـٰ هُ
and We have recited it
تَرۡتِيلاً
٣٢(with distinct) recitation
And those who disbelieve say, "Why was the Qur’ān not revealed to him all at once?" Thus [it is] that We may strengthen thereby your heart. And We have spaced it distinctly.1
25:33
وَلَا
And not
يَأۡتُونَكَ
they come to you
بِمَثَلٍ
with an example
إِلَّا
but
جِئۡنَـٰ كَ
We bring you
بِٱ لۡحَقِّ
the truth
وَأَحۡسَنَ
and (the) best
تَفۡسِيرًا
٣٣explanation
And they do not come to you with an example [i.e., argument] except that We bring you the truth and the best explanation.
25:34
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
يُحۡشَرُونَ
will be gathered
عَلَىٰ
on
وُجُوهِهِمۡ
their faces
إِلَىٰ
to
جَهَنّ َمَ
Hell
أُوۡ لَـٰٓ ئِكَ
those
شَرٌّ
(are the) worst
(in) position
and most astray
سَبِيلاً
٣٤(from the) way
The ones who are gathered on their faces to Hell - those are the worst in position and farthest astray in [their] way.
25:35
وَلَقَدۡ
And verily
ءَاتَيۡنَا
We gave
مُوسَى
Musa
the Scripture
وَجَعَلۡنَا
and We appointed
مَعَهُۥٓ
with him
أَخَاهُ
his brother
هَـٰ رُونَ
Harun
وَزِيرًا
٣٥(as) an assistant
And We had certainly given Moses the Scripture and appointed with him his brother Aaron as an assistant.
25:36
فَقُلۡنَا
Then We said
Go both of you
إِلَى
to
the people
those who
كَذَّبُواۡ
have denied
بِـَٔـايَـٰ تِنَا
Our Signs
فَدَمّ َرۡنَـٰ هُمۡ
Then We destroyed them
تَدۡ مِيرًا
٣٦(with) destruction
And We said, "Go both of you to the people who have denied Our signs." Then We destroyed them with [complete] destruction.
25:37
وَقَوۡمَ
And (the) people
نُوحٍ
(of) Nuh
when
كَذَّبُواۡ
they denied
the Messengers
أَغۡرَقۡ نَـٰ هُمۡ
We drowned them
وَجَعَلۡنَـٰ هُمۡ
and We made them
لِلنّ َاسِ
for mankind
ءَايَةًۖ

And We have prepared

٣٧painful
And the people of Noah - when they denied the messengers,1 We drowned them, and We made them for mankind a sign. And We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment.

٤٥an indication
Have you not considered your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication.1
25:46
ثُمّ َ
Then
قَبَضۡنَـٰ هُ
We withdraw it

Then We [retract and] hold it with Us for a brief grasp.1
25:47
وَهُوَ
And He

the night
لِبَاسًا

the day
نُشُورًا
٤٧a resurrection
And it is He who has made the night for you as clothing1 and sleep [a means for] rest and has made the day a resurrection.2
25:48
وَهُوَ
And He

And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy [i.e., rainfall], and We send down from the sky pure water

٥٠disbelief
And We have certainly distributed it among them that they might be reminded,1 but most of the people refuse except disbelief.
25:51
وَلَوۡ

We willed
لَبَعَثۡنَا
surely, We (would) have raised

And if We had willed, We could have sent into every city a warner.1
25:52

So (do) not

the disbelievers
وَجَـٰ هِدۡ هُم

great
So do not obey the disbelievers, and strive against them with it [i.e., the Qur’ān] a great striving.
25:53
۞وَهُوَ
And He

salty
أُجَاجٌ
(and) bitter
and He has made
بَيۡنَهُمَا
between them
بَرۡزَخًا
a barrier

forbidden
And it is He who has released [simultaneously] the two seas [i.e., bodies of water], one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition.
25:54
وَهُوَ
And He

And is
رَبُّكَ
your Lord
قَدِيرًا
٥٤All-Powerful
And it is He who has created from water [i.e., semen] a human being and made him [a relative by] lineage and marriage. And ever is your Lord competent [concerning creation].
25:55
وَيَعۡبُدُونَ
But they worship

رَبِّهِۦ
his Lord
ظَهِيرًا
٥٥a helper
But they worship rather than Allāh that which does not benefit them or harm them, and the disbeliever is ever, against his Lord, an assistant [to Satan].
25:56
وَمَآ
And not
أَرۡسَلۡنَـٰ كَ
We sent you
إِلَّا
except
مُبَشِّرًا

And We have not sent you, [O Muḥammad], except as a bringer of good tidings and a warner.

٥٨All-Aware
And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die, and exalt [Allāh] with His praise. And sufficient is He to be, with the sins of His servants, [fully] Aware -
25:59
ٱلَّذِى
The One Who

٥٩(as He is) All-Aware
He who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days and then established Himself above the Throne1 - the Most Merciful, so ask about Him one well informed [i.e., the Prophet (ﷺ)].
25:60

And it increases them
نُفُورًا
۩(in) aversion
And when it is said to them, "Prostrate to the Most Merciful," they say, "And what is the Most Merciful? Should we prostrate to that which you order us?" And it increases them in aversion.
25:61
تَبَارَكَ
Blessed is He

Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon.
25:62
وَهُوَ
And He

٦٢to be thankful
And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or desires gratitude.
25:63
وَعِبَادُ
And (the) slaves
(of) the Most Gracious

(are the) Messenger
رَبِّ
(of the) Lord
(of) the worlds
Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers1 of the Lord of the worlds,
26:17
أَنۡ
[That]
أَرۡسِلۡ
send
مَعَنَا
with us
بَنِىٓ
(the) Children of Israel.'
إِسۡرٰ ٓءِي لَ
١٧(the) Children of Israel.'
[Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'"
26:18
قَالَ
He said
أَلَمۡ
Did not
نُرَبِّكَ
we bring you up
فِينَا
among us
وَلِيدًا
(as) a child
and you remained
فِينَا
among us
مِنۡ
of
عُمُرِكَ
your life
سِنِي نَ
١٨years
[Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life?
26:19
وَفَعَلۡتَ
And you did
فَعۡلَتَكَ
your deed
which
فَعَلۡتَ
you did
وَأَنت َ
and you
مِنَ
(were) of
the ungrateful
And [then] you did your deed which you did,1 and you were of the ungrateful."
26:20
قَالَ
He said
فَعَلۡتُهَآ
I did it
إِذًا
when
I
مِنَ
(was) of
those who are astray
[Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray [i.e., ignorant].
26:21
فَفَرَرۡتُ
So I fled
مِنك ُمۡ
from you
لَمّ َا
when
خِفۡتُكُمۡ
I feared you
فَوَهَبَ
But granted
لِى
to me
رَبِّى
my Lord
حُكۡمًا
judgment
and made me
مِنَ
of
the Messengers
So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me judgement [i.e., wisdom and prophet hood] and appointed me [as one] of the messengers.
26:22
وَتِلۡكَ
And this
نِعۡمَةٌ
(is the) favor
with which you reproach
عَلَىَّ
[on] me
أَنۡ
that
عَبَّد تَّ
you have enslaved
بَنِىٓ
(the) Children of Israel
إِسۡرٰ ٓءِي لَ
٢٢(the) Children of Israel
And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?"
26:23
قَالَ
Firaun said
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
Firaun said
وَمَا
And what
رَبُّ
(is the) Lord
(of) the worlds
Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?"
26:24
قَالَ
He said
رَبُّ
Lord
(of) the heavens
وَٱ لۡأَرۡضِ
and the earth
وَمَا
and whatever
بَيۡنَهُمَآۖ
(is) between them
إِن
if
you (should) be
convinced
[Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced."
26:25
قَالَ
He said
لِمَنۡ
to those
حَوۡلَهُۥٓ
around him
أَلَا
Do not
تَسۡتَمِعُو نَ
٢٥you hear
[Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?"
26:26
قَالَ
He said
رَبُّكُمۡ
Your Lord
وَرَبُّ
and (the) Lord
ءَابَا ٓئِكُمُ
(of) your forefathers
(of) your forefathers
[Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers."
26:27
قَالَ
He said
إِنّ َ
Indeed
رَسُولَكُمُ
your Messenger
who
أُرۡسِلَ
has been sent
إِلَيۡكُمۡ
to you
لَمَجۡ نُو نٌ
٢٧(is) surely mad
[Pharaoh] said,1 "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad."
26:28
قَالَ
He said
رَبُّ
Lord
(of) the east
وَٱ لۡمَغۡرِبِ
and the west
وَمَا
and whatever
بَيۡنَهُمَآۖ
(is) between them
إِن
if
you were
تَعۡقِلُو نَ
٢٨(to) reason
[Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason."
26:29
قَالَ
He said
لَئِنِ
If
you take
إِلَـٰ هًا
a god
غَيۡرِى
other than me
لَأَجۡ عَلَنّ َكَ
I will surely make you
مِنَ
among
those imprisoned
[Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned."
26:30
قَالَ
He said
أَوَلَوۡ
Even if
جِئۡتُكَ
I bring you
بِشَىۡءٍ
something
manifest
[Moses] said, "Even if I brought you something [i.e., proof] manifest?"
26:31
قَالَ
He said
فَأۡتِ
Then bring
بِهِۦٓ
it
إِن
if
you are
مِنَ
of
the truthful
[Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful."
26:32
فَأَلۡقَىٰ
So he threw
عَصَاهُ
his staff
فَإِذَا
and behold
هِىَ
It
ثُعۡبَانٌ
(was) a serpent
manifest
So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest.1
26:33
وَنَزَعَ
And he drew out
يَدَهُۥ
his hand
فَإِذَا
and behold
هِىَ
It
بَيۡضَا ٓءُ
(was) white
لِلنّ َـٰ ظِرِي نَ
٣٣for the observers
And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers.
26:34
قَالَ
He said
لِلۡمَلَإِ
to the chiefs
حَوۡلَهُۥٓ
around him
إِنّ َ
Indeed
هَـٰ ذَا
this
لَسَـٰ حِرٌ
(is) surely a magician
عَلِي مٌ
٣٤learned
[Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, "Indeed, this is a learned magician.
26:35
يُرِيدُ
He wants
أَن
to
drive you out
from
أَرۡضِكُم
your land
by his magic
فَمَاذَا
so what
تَأۡمُرُو نَ
٣٥(do) you advise
He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise?"
26:36
قَالُوٓ اۡ
They said
أَرۡجِهۡ
Postpone him
وَأَخَاهُ
and his brother
وَٱ بۡ عَثۡ
and send
فِى
in
the cities
حَـٰ شِرِي نَ
٣٦gatherers
They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers
26:37
يَأۡتُوكَ
They (will) bring to you
بِكُلِّ
every
سَحَّارٍ
magician
عَلِي مٍ
٣٧learned
Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician."
26:38
فَجُمِعَ
So were assembled
the magicians
لِمِيقَـٰ تِ
for (the) appointment
يَوۡمٍ
(on) a day
well-known
So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day.1
26:39
وَقِيلَ
And it was said
لِلنّ َاسِ
to the people
هَلۡ
Will
أَنت ُم
you
assemble
And it was said to the people, "Will you congregate.
26:40
لَعَلَّنَا
That we may
نَتَّبِعُ
follow
the magicians
إِن
if
they are
هُمُ
they are
the victorious
That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant?"
26:41
فَلَمّ َا
So when
جَا ٓءَ
came
the magicians
قَالُواۡ
they said
لِفِرۡعَوۡنَ
to Firaun
أَئِنّ َ
Is there
لَنَا
for us
لَأَجۡ رًا
a reward
إِن
if
we are
نَحۡنُ
we are
the victorious
And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant?"
26:42
قَالَ
He said
نَعَمۡ
Yes
وَإِنّ َكُمۡ
and indeed you
إِذًا
then
surely (will be) of
the ones who are brought near
He said, "Yes, and indeed, you will then be of those near [to me]."
26:43
قَالَ
Said
لَهُم
to them
Musa
أَلۡقُواۡ
Throw
مَآ
what
أَنت ُم
you
(are) going to throw
Moses said to them, "Throw whatever you will throw."
26:44
فَأَلۡقَوۡاۡ
So they threw
حِبَالَهُمۡ
their ropes
وَعِصِيَّهُمۡ
and their staffs
وَقَالُواۡ
and said
بِعِزَّةِ
By the might
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
(of) Firaun
إِنّ َا
indeed, we
لَنَحۡنُ
surely, we
(are) the victorious
So they threw their ropes and their staffs and said, "By the might of Pharaoh, indeed it is we who are predominant."
26:45
فَأَلۡقَىٰ
Then threw
مُوسَىٰ
Musa
عَصَاهُ
his staff
فَإِذَا
and behold
هِىَ
It
تَلۡقَفُ
swallowed
مَا
what
يَأۡفِكُو نَ
٤٥they falsified
Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it devoured what they falsified.
26:46
فَأُلۡقِىَ
Then fell down
the magicians
سَـٰ جِدِي نَ
٤٦prostrate
So the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allāh].
26:47
قَالُوٓ اۡ
They said
ءَامَنّ َا
We believe
بِرَبِّ
in (the) Lord
(of) the worlds
They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds,
26:48
رَبِّ
Lord
مُوسَىٰ
(of) Musa
وَهَـٰ رُو نَ
٤٨and Harun
The Lord of Moses and Aaron."
26:49
قَالَ
He said
ءَامَنت ُمۡ
You believed
لَهُۥ
in him
قَبۡ لَ
before
أَنۡ
[that]
ءَاذَنَ
I gave permission
لَكُمۡۖ
to you
إِنّ َهُۥ
Indeed, he
لَكَبِيرُكُمُ
(is) surely your chief
who
عَلَّمَكُمُ
has taught you
the magic
فَلَسَوۡفَ
so surely soon
تَعۡلَمُونَۚ
you will know
لَأُقَطِّعَنّ َ
I will surely cut off
أَيۡدِيَكُمۡ
your hands
وَأَرۡجُلَكُم
and your feet
of
خِلَـٰ فٍ
opposite sides
and I will surely crucify you
أَجۡ مَعِي نَ
٤٩all
[Pharaoh] said, "You believed him [i.e., Moses] before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic, but you are going to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all."
26:50
قَالُواۡ
They said
لَا
No
ضَيۡرَۖ
harm
إِنّ َآ
Indeed, we
إِلَىٰ
to
رَبِّنَا
our Lord
مُنق َلِبُو نَ
٥٠(will) return
They said, "No harm. Indeed, to our Lord we will return.
26:51
إِنّ َا
Indeed, we
نَطۡ مَعُ
hope
أَن
that
will forgive
لَنَا
us
رَبُّنَا
our Lord
خَطَـٰ يَـٰ نَآ
our sins
أَن
because
we are
أَوَّلَ
(the) first
(of) the believers
Indeed, we aspire that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we were the first of the believers."
26:52
۞وَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ
And We inspired
إِلَىٰ
to
مُوسَىٰٓ
Musa
أَنۡ
[that]
أَسۡرِ
Travel by night
بِعِبَادِىٓ
with My slaves
إِنّ َكُم
indeed, you
(will be) followed
And We inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants; indeed, you will be pursued."
26:53
فَأَرۡسَلَ
Then sent
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
Firaun
فِى
in
the cities
حَـٰ شِرِي نَ
٥٣gatherers
Then Pharaoh sent among the cities gatherers1
26:54
إِنّ َ
Indeed
هَـٰٓ ؤُلَا ٓءِ
these
لَشِرۡذِمَةٌ
(are) certainly a band
small
[And said], "Indeed, those are but a small band,
26:55
وَإِنّ َهُمۡ
And indeed, they
لَنَا
[to] us
لَغَا ٓئِظُو نَ
٥٥(are) surely enraging
And indeed, they are enraging us,
26:56
وَإِنّ َا
And indeed, we
لَجَمِيعٌ
(are) surely a multitude
حَـٰ ذِرُو نَ
٥٦forewarned
And indeed, we are a cautious society..."
26:57
فَأَخۡرَجۡ نَـٰ هُم
So We expelled them
from
gardens
and springs
So We removed them from gardens and springs
26:58
وَكُنُوزٍ
And treasures
and a place
honorable
And treasures and honorable station1 -
26:59
كَذٰ لِكَ
Thus
وَأَوۡرَثۡنَـٰ هَا
And We caused to inherit them
بَنِىٓ
(the) Children of Israel
إِسۡرٰ ٓءِي لَ
٥٩(the) Children of Israel
Thus. And We caused to inherit it the Children of Israel.
26:60
فَأَتۡبَعُوهُم
So they followed them
(at) sunrise
So they pursued them at sunrise.
26:61
فَلَمّ َا
Then when
تَرٰ ٓءَا
saw each other
the two hosts
قَالَ
said
أَصۡحَـٰ بُ
(the) companions
مُوسَىٰٓ
(of) Musa
إِنّ َا
Indeed, we
لَمُدۡ رَكُو نَ
٦١(are) surely to be overtaken
And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, "Indeed, we are to be overtaken!"
26:62
قَالَ
He said
كَلَّآۖ
Nay
إِنّ َ
indeed
مَعِىَ
with me
رَبِّى
(is) my Lord
سَيَهۡدِي نِ
٦٢He will guide me
[Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me."
26:63
فَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ
Then We inspired
إِلَىٰ
to
مُوسَىٰٓ
Musa
أَنِ
[that]
Strike
بِّعَصَاكَ
with your staff
the sea
فَٱ نف َلَقَ
So it parted
فَكَانَ
and became
كُلُّ
each
فِرۡقٍ
part
like the mountain
[the] great
Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain.
26:64
وَأَزۡلَفۡنَا
And We brought near
ثَمّ َ
there
the others
And We advanced thereto the others [i.e., the pursuers].
26:65
وَأَنج َيۡنَا
And We saved
مُوسَىٰ
Musa
وَمَن
and who
(were) with him
أَجۡ مَعِي نَ
٦٥all
And We saved Moses and those with him, all together.
26:66
ثُمّ َ
Then
أَغۡرَقۡ نَا
We drowned
the others
Then We drowned the others.
26:67
إِنّ َ
Indeed
فِى
in
ذٰ لِكَ
that
لَأَيَةًۖ
surely (is) a Sign
but not
كَانَ
are
أَكۡثَرُهُم
most of them
believers
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
26:68
وَإِنّ َ
And indeed
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
لَهُوَ
surely He
(is) the All-Mighty
the Most Merciful
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
26:69
وَٱ تۡلُ
And recite

When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?"
26:71
قَالُواۡ
They said
نَعۡبُدُ
We worship

idols
so we will remain

They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted."
26:72

He said

٧٣they harm (you)
Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?"
26:74
قَالُواۡ
They said

Nay
وَجَدۡ نَآ
but we found

our forefathers
كَذٰ لِكَ
like that

They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus."
26:75
قَالَ
He said
أَفَرَءَيۡتُم
Do you see
what

٧٥worshipping
He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping,

You and your ancient forefathers?

And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous.

So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech, and said, "My Lord, enable me1 to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants."2

قَاطِعَةً
the one to decide
أَمۡرًا
any matter
حَتَّىٰ
until
تَشۡهَدُو نِ
٣٢you are present with me
She said, "O eminent ones, advise me in my affair. I would not decide a matter until you witness [for] me."1
27:33
قَالُواۡ
They said
نَحۡنُ
We
أُوۡ لُواۡ
(are) possessors
قُوَّةٍ
(of) strength
and possessors
بَأۡسٍ
(of) might
great
and the command
إِلَيۡكِ
(is) up to you
فَٱ نظ ُرِى
so look
مَاذَا
what
تَأۡمُرِي نَ
٣٣you will command
They said, "We are men of strength and of great military might, but the command is yours, so see what you will command."
27:34
قَالَتۡ
She said
إِنّ َ
Indeed
the kings
إِذَا
when
دَخَلُواۡ
they enter
قَرۡيَةً
a town
أَفۡسَدُوهَا
they ruin it
وَجَعَلُوٓ اۡ
and make
أَعِزَّةَ
(the) most honorable
أَهۡلِهَآ
(of) its people
أَذِلَّةًۖ
(the) lowest
And thus
يَفۡعَلُو نَ
٣٤they do
She said, "Indeed kings - when they enter a city, they ruin it and render the honored of its people humbled. And thus do they do.
27:35
وَإِنّ ِى
But indeed, I am
مُرۡسِلَةٌ
going to send
إِلَيۡهِم
to them
a gift
and see
with what
يَرۡجِعُ
return
the messengers
But indeed, I will send to them a gift and see with what [reply] the messengers will return."
27:36
فَلَمّ َا
So when
جَا ٓءَ
came
سُلَيۡمَـٰ نَ
(to) Sulaiman
قَالَ
he said
أَتُمِدُّونَنِ
Will you provide me
بِمَالٍ
with wealth
But what
ءَاتَـٰ نِۦ َ
Allah has given me
Allah has given me
خَيۡرٌ
(is) better
than what
ءَاتَـٰ كُم
He has given you
Nay
أَنت ُم
you
in your gift
تَفۡرَحُو نَ
٣٦rejoice
So when they came to Solomon, he said, "Do you provide me with wealth? But what Allāh has given me is better than what He has given you. Rather, it is you who rejoice in your gift.
27:37
ٱرۡجِعۡ
Return
إِلَيۡهِمۡ
to them
فَلَنَأۡتِيَنّ َهُم
surely, we will come to them
with hosts
not
قِبَلَ
(is) resistance
لَهُم
for them
of it
وَلَنُخۡرِجَنّ َهُم
and surely, we will drive them out
from there
أَذِلَّةً
(in) humiliation
and they
صَـٰ غِرُو نَ
٣٧(will be) abased
Return to them, for we will surely come to them with soldiers that they will be powerless to encounter, and we will surely expel them therefrom in humiliation, and they will be debased."
27:38
قَالَ
He said
يَـٰٓ أَيُّهَا
O
chiefs
أَيُّكُمۡ
Which of you
يَأۡتِينِى
will bring me
بِعَرۡشِهَا
her throne
قَبۡ لَ
before
أَن
that
they come to me
مُسۡلِمِي نَ
٣٨(in) submission
[Solomon] said, "O assembly [of jinn], which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?"
27:39
قَالَ
Said
عِفۡرِيتٌ
a strong one
of
the jinn
أَنَاۡ
I
ءَاتِيكَ
will bring it to you
بِهِۦ
will bring it to you
قَبۡ لَ
before
أَن
[that]
you rise
مِن
from
your place
وَإِنّ ِى
And indeed, I am
عَلَيۡهِ
for it
لَقَوِىٌّ
surely, strong
أَمِي نٌ
٣٩trustworthy
A powerful one from among the jinn said, "I will bring it to you before you rise from your place, and indeed, I am for this [task] strong and trustworthy."
27:40
قَالَ
Said
one who
عِند َهُۥ
with him
عِلۡمٌ
(was) knowledge
of
the Scripture
أَنَاۡ
I
ءَاتِيكَ
will bring it to you
بِهِۦ
will bring it to you
قَبۡ لَ
before
أَن
[that]
returns
إِلَيۡكَ
to you
طَرۡفُكَۚ
your glance
فَلَمّ َا
Then when
رَءَاهُ
he saw it
مُسۡتَقِرًّا
placed
عِند َهُۥ
before him
قَالَ
he said
هَـٰ ذَا
This
مِن
(is) from
(the) Favor
رَبِّى
(of) my Lord
لِيَبۡ لُوَنِىٓ
to test me
ءَأَشۡكُرُ
whether I am grateful
أَمۡ
or
أَكۡفُرُۖ
I am ungrateful
وَمَن
And whoever
(is) grateful
فَإِنّ َمَا
then only
يَشۡكُرُ
he is grateful
لِنَفۡسِهِۦ ۖ
for his own soul
وَمَن
And whoever
(is) ungrateful
فَإِنّ َ
then indeed
رَبِّى
my Lord
غَنِىٌّ
(is) Self-sufficient
Noble
Said one who had knowledge from the Scripture, "I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you." And when [Solomon] saw it placed before him, he said, "This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful - his gratitude is only for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever is ungrateful - then indeed, my Lord is Free of need and Generous."
27:41
قَالَ
He said
نَكِّرُواۡ
Disguise
لَهَا
for her
عَرۡشَهَا
her throne
نَنظ ُرۡ
we will see
أَتَهۡتَدِىٓ
whether she will be guided
أَمۡ
or
تَكُونُ
will be
مِنَ
of
those who
لَا
are not guided
يَهۡتَدُو نَ
٤١are not guided
He said, "Disguise for her her throne; we will see whether she will be guided [to truth] or will be of those who is not guided."
27:42
فَلَمّ َا
So when
جَا ٓءَتۡ
she came
قِيلَ
it was said
أَهَـٰ كَذَا
Is like this
عَرۡشُكِۖ
your throne
قَالَتۡ
She said
كَأَنّ َهُۥ
It is like
هُوَۚ
it
وَأُوتِينَا
And we were given
the knowledge
مِن
before her
before her
وَكُنّ َا
and we have been
مُسۡلِمِي نَ
٤٢Muslims
So when she arrived, it was said [to her], "Is your throne like this?" She said, "[It is] as though it was it." [Solomon said], "And we were given knowledge before her, and we have been Muslims [in submission to Allāh].
27:43
وَصَدَّهَا
And has averted her
مَا
what
كَانَت
she used (to)
تَّعۡبُدُ
worship
مِن
besides
besides
Allah
إِنّ َهَا
Indeed, she
كَانَتۡ
was
مِن
from
a people
who disbelieve
And that which she was worshipping other than Allāh had averted her [from submission to Him]. Indeed, she was from a disbelieving people."
27:44
قِيلَ
It was said
لَهَا
to her
Enter
the palace
فَلَمّ َا
Then when
رَأَتۡهُ
she saw it
حَسِبَتۡهُ
she thought it
لُجَّةً
(was) a pool
and she uncovered
عَن
[on]
her shins
قَالَ
He said
إِنّ َهُۥ
Indeed, it
صَرۡحٌ
(is) a palace
made smooth
of
glass
قَالَتۡ
She said
رَبِّ
My Lord
إِنّ ِى
indeed, I
ظَلَمۡتُ
[I] have wronged
نَفۡسِى
myself
وَأَسۡلَمۡتُ
and I submit
مَعَ
with
سُلَيۡمَـٰ نَ
Sulaiman
لِلَّهِ
to Allah
رَبِّ
(the) Lord
(of) the worlds
She was told, "Enter the palace." But when she saw it, she thought it was a body of water1 and uncovered her shins [to wade through]. He said, "Indeed, it is a palace [whose floor is] made smooth with glass." She said, "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, and I submit with Solomon to Allāh, Lord of the worlds."
27:45
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
أَرۡسَلۡنَآ
We sent
إِلَىٰ
to
ثَمُودَ
Thamud
أَخَاهُمۡ
their brother
صَـٰ لِحًا
Salih
أَنِ
that
Worship
Allah
فَإِذَا
Then behold
هُمۡ
They
فَرِيقَانِ
(became) two parties
يَخۡتَصِمُو نَ
٤٥quarreling
And We had certainly sent to Thamūd their brother Ṣāliḥ, [saying], "Worship Allāh," and at once they were two parties conflicting.
27:46
قَالَ
He said
يَـٰ قَوۡمِ
O my people
لِمَ
Why
تَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَ
(do) you seek to hasten
بِٱ ل سَّيِّئَةِ
the evil
قَبۡ لَ
before
the good
لَوۡلَا
Why not
تَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ
you ask forgiveness
(of) Allah
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
so that you may
تُرۡحَمُو نَ
٤٦receive mercy
He said, "O my people, why are you impatient for evil before [i.e., instead of] good?1 Why do you not seek forgiveness of Allāh that you may receive mercy?"
27:47
قَالُواۡ
They said
We consider you a bad omen
بِكَ
We consider you a bad omen
وَبِمَن
and those
with you
قَالَ
He said
طَـٰٓ ئِرُكُمۡ
Your bad omen
عِند َ
(is) with
Allah
بَلۡ
Nay
أَنت ُمۡ
you
قَوۡمٌ
(are) a people
being tested
They said, "We consider you a bad omen, you and those with you." He said, "Your omen [i.e., fate] is with Allāh. Rather, you are a people being tested."1
27:48
وَكَانَ
And were
فِى
in
the city
تِسۡعَةُ
nine
رَهۡطٍ
family heads
they were spreading corruption
فِى
in
the land
وَلَا
and not
يُصۡلِحُو نَ
٤٨reforming
And there were in the city nine family heads causing corruption in the land and not amending [its affairs].
27:49
قَالُواۡ
They said
تَقَاسَمُواۡ
Swear to each other
بِٱ للَّهِ
by Allah
لَنُبَيِّتَنّ َهُۥ
surely, we will attack him by night
وَأَهۡلَهُۥ
and his family
ثُمّ َ
Then
لَنَقُولَنّ َ
we will surely say
لِوَلِيِّهِۦ
to his heir
مَا
Not
شَهِدۡ نَا
we witnessed
مَهۡلِكَ
(the) destruction
أَهۡلِهِۦ
(of) his family
وَإِنّ َا
and indeed, we
لَصَـٰ دِقُو نَ
٤٩(are) surely truthful
They said, "Take a mutual oath by Allāh that we will kill him by night, he and his family. Then we will say to his executor,1 'We did not witness the destruction of his family, and indeed, we are truthful.'"
27:50
وَمَكَرُواۡ
So they plotted
مَكۡرًا
a plot
and We planned
مَكۡرًا
a plan
while they
لَا
(did) not
يَشۡعُرُو نَ
٥٠perceive
And they planned a plan, and We planned a plan, while they perceived not.
27:51
فَٱ نظ ُرۡ
Then see
كَيۡفَ
how
كَانَ
was
عَـٰ قِبَةُ
(the) end
مَكۡرِهِمۡ
(of) their plot
أَنّ َا
that We
دَمّ َرۡنَـٰ هُمۡ
destroyed them
وَقَوۡمَهُمۡ
and their people
أَجۡ مَعِي نَ
٥١all
Then look how was the outcome of their plan - that We destroyed them and their people, all.
27:52
فَتِلۡكَ
So, these
بُيُوتُهُمۡ
(are) their houses
خَاوِيَةَۢ
ruined
because
ظَلَمُوٓاۡ ۗ
they wronged
إِنّ َ
Indeed
فِى
in
ذٰ لِكَ
that
لَأَيَةً
surely, is a sign
for a people
who know
So those are their houses, desolate because of the wrong they had done. Indeed in that is a sign for people who know.
27:53
وَأَنج َيۡنَا
And We saved
those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believed
وَكَانُواۡ
and used (to)
يَتَّقُو نَ
٥٣fear (Allah)
And We saved those who believed and used to fear Allāh.
27:54
وَلُوطًا
And Lut
إِذۡ
when
قَالَ
he said
لِقَوۡمِهِۦٓ
to his people
أَتَأۡتُونَ
Do you commit
[the] immorality
وَأَنت ُمۡ
while you
تُبۡ صِرُو نَ
٥٤see
And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Do you commit immorality1 while you are seeing?2
27:55
أَئِنّ َكُمۡ
Why do you
لَتَأۡتُونَ
approach
the men
شَهۡوَةً
(with) lust
instead of
instead of
the women
بَلۡ
Nay
أَنت ُمۡ
you
قَوۡمٌ
(are) a people
ignorant
Do you indeed approach men with desire instead of women? Rather, you are a people behaving ignorantly."
