جزء 19

3 Surahs339 Versesجزء 19
25:21
۞وَقَالَ
And said
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
لَا
(do) not
يَرۡجُونَ
expect
لِقَآءَنَا
(the) meeting with Us
لَوۡلَآ
Why not
أُنزِلَ
are sent down
عَلَيۡنَا
to us
ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ
the Angels
أَوۡ
or
نَرَىٰ
we see
رَبَّنَا‌ۗ
our Lord
لَقَدِ
Indeed
ٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواۡ
they have become arrogant
فِىٓ
within
أَنفُسِهِمۡ
themselves
وَعَتَوۡ
and (become) insolent
عُتُوًّا
(with) insolence
كَبِيرًا
great
٢١
And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves1 and [become] insolent with great insolence.
25:22
يَوۡمَ
(The) Day
يَرَوۡنَ
they see
ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ
the Angels
لَا
no
بُشۡرَىٰ
glad tidings
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
(will be) that Day
لِّلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
for the criminals
وَيَقُولُونَ
and they will say
حِجۡرًا
A partition
مَّحۡجُورًا
forbidden
٢٢
The day they see the angels1 - no good tidings will there be that day for the criminals, and [the angels] will say, "Prevented and inaccessible."2
25:23
وَقَدِمۡنَآ
And We will proceed
إِلَىٰ
to
مَا
whatever
عَمِلُواۡ
they did
مِنۡ
of
عَمَلٍ
(the) deed(s)
فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُ
and We will make them
هَبَآءً
(as) dust
مَّنثُورًا
dispersed
٢٣
And We will approach [i.e., regard]1 what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed.
25:24
أَصۡحَـٰبُ
(The) companions
ٱلۡجَنَّةِ
(of) Paradise
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
خَيۡرٌ
(will be in) a better
مُّسۡتَقَرًّا
abode
وَأَحۡسَنُ
and a better
مَقِيلاً
resting-place
٢٤
The companions of Paradise, that Day, are [in] a better settlement and better resting place.
25:25
وَيَوۡمَ
And (the) Day
تَشَقَّقُ
will split open
ٱلسَّمَآءُ
the heavens
بِٱلۡغَمَـٰمِ
with the clouds
وَنُزِّلَ
and (will be) sent down
ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ
the Angels
تَنزِيلاً
descending
٢٥
And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds,1 and the angels will be sent down in successive descent.
25:26
ٱلۡمُلۡكُ
The Sovereignty
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
ٱلۡحَقُّ
(will be) truly
لِلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ‌ۚ
for the Most Gracious
وَكَانَ
And (it will) be
يَوۡمًا
a Day
عَلَى
for
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
the disbelievers
عَسِيرًا
difficult
٢٦
True sovereignty, that Day, is for the Most Merciful. And it will be upon the disbelievers a difficult Day.
25:27
وَيَوۡمَ
And (the) Day
يَعَضُّ
will bite
ٱلظَّالِمُ
the wrongdoer
عَلَىٰ
[on]
يَدَيۡهِ
his hands
يَقُولُ
he will say
يَـٰلَيۡتَنِى
O I wish
ٱتَّخَذۡتُ
I had taken
مَعَ
with
ٱلرَّسُولِ
the Messenger
سَبِيلاً
a way
٢٧
And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, "Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way.1
25:28
يَـٰوَيۡلَتَىٰ
O woe to me
لَيۡتَنِى
I wish
لَمۡ
not
أَتَّخِذۡ
I had taken
فُلَانًا
that one
خَلِيلاً
(as) a friend
٢٨
Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one1 as a friend.
25:29
لَّقَدۡ
Verily
أَضَلَّنِى
he led me astray
عَنِ
from
ٱلذِّكۡرِ
the Reminder
بَعۡدَ
after
إِذۡ
[when]
جَآءَنِى‌ۗ
it (had) come to me
وَكَانَ
And is
ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنُ
the Shaitaan
لِلۡإِنسَـٰنِ
to the man
خَذُولاً
a deserter
٢٩
He led me away from the remembrance1 after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter."2
25:30
وَقَالَ
And said
ٱلرَّسُولُ
the Messenger
يَـٰرَبِّ
O my Lord
إِنَّ
Indeed
قَوۡمِى
my people
ٱتَّخَذُواۡ
took
هَـٰذَا
this
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ
the Quran
مَهۡجُورًا
(as) a forsaken thing
٣٠
And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur’ān as [a thing] abandoned."1
25:31
وَكَذٰلِكَ
And thus
جَعَلۡنَا
We have made
لِكُلِّ
for every
نَبِىٍّ
Prophet
عَدُوًّا
an enemy
مِّنَ
among
ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ‌ۗ
the criminals
وَكَفَىٰ
But sufficient is
بِرَبِّكَ
your Lord
هَادِيًا
(as) a Guide
وَنَصِيرًا
and a Helper
٣١
And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper.
25:32
وَقَالَ
And said
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
لَوۡلَا
Why not
نُزِّلَ
was revealed
عَلَيۡهِ
to him
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ
the Quran
جُمۡلَةً
all at once
وٰحِدَةً‌ۚ
all at once
كَذٰلِكَ
Thus
لِنُثَبِّتَ
that We may strengthen
بِهِۦ
thereby
فُؤَادَكَ‌ۖ
your heart
وَرَتَّلۡنَـٰهُ
and We have recited it
تَرۡتِيلاً
(with distinct) recitation
٣٢
And those who disbelieve say, "Why was the Qur’ān not revealed to him all at once?" Thus [it is] that We may strengthen thereby your heart. And We have spaced it distinctly.1
25:33
وَلَا
And not
يَأۡتُونَكَ
they come to you
بِمَثَلٍ
with an example
إِلَّا
but
جِئۡنَـٰكَ
We bring you
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
the truth
وَأَحۡسَنَ
and (the) best
تَفۡسِيرًا
explanation
٣٣
And they do not come to you with an example [i.e., argument] except that We bring you the truth and the best explanation.
25:34
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
يُحۡشَرُونَ
will be gathered
عَلَىٰ
on
وُجُوهِهِمۡ
their faces
إِلَىٰ
to
جَهَنَّمَ
Hell
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
those
شَرٌّ
(are the) worst
مَّكَانًا
(in) position
وَأَضَلُّ
and most astray
سَبِيلاً
(from the) way
٣٤
The ones who are gathered on their faces to Hell - those are the worst in position and farthest astray in [their] way.
25:35
وَلَقَدۡ
And verily
ءَاتَيۡنَا
We gave
مُوسَى
Musa
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ
the Scripture
وَجَعَلۡنَا
and We appointed
مَعَهُۥٓ
with him
أَخَاهُ
his brother
هَـٰرُونَ
Harun
وَزِيرًا
(as) an assistant
٣٥
And We had certainly given Moses the Scripture and appointed with him his brother Aaron as an assistant.
25:36
فَقُلۡنَا
Then We said
ٱذۡهَبَآ
Go both of you
إِلَى
to
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
the people
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَذَّبُواۡ
have denied
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا
Our Signs
فَدَمَّرۡنَـٰهُمۡ
Then We destroyed them
تَدۡمِيرًا
(with) destruction
٣٦
And We said, "Go both of you to the people who have denied Our signs." Then We destroyed them with [complete] destruction.
25:37
وَقَوۡمَ
And (the) people
نُوحٍ
(of) Nuh
لَّمَّا
when
كَذَّبُواۡ
they denied
ٱلرُّسُلَ
the Messengers
أَغۡرَقۡنَـٰهُمۡ
We drowned them
وَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ
and We made them
لِلنَّاسِ
for mankind
ءَايَةً‌ۖ
a sign
وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا
And We have prepared
لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
for the wrongdoers
عَذَابًا
a punishment
أَلِيمًا
painful
٣٧
And the people of Noah - when they denied the messengers,1 We drowned them, and We made them for mankind a sign. And We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment.
25:38
وَعَادًا
And Ad
وَثَمُودَاۡ
and Thamud
وَأَصۡحَـٰبَ
and (the) dwellers
ٱلرَّسِّ
(of) Ar-rass
وَقُرُونَۢا
and generations
بَيۡنَ
between
ذٰلِكَ
that
كَثِيرًا
many
٣٨
And [We destroyed] ʿAad and Thamūd and the companions of the well1 and many generations between them.
25:39
وَكُلاًّ
And each
ضَرَبۡنَا
We have set forth
لَهُ
for him
ٱلۡأَمۡثَـٰلَ‌ۖ
the examples
وَكُلاًّ
and each
تَبَّرۡنَا
We destroyed
تَتۡبِيرًا
(with) destruction
٣٩
And for each We presented examples [as warnings], and each We destroyed with [total] destruction.
25:40
وَلَقَدۡ
And verily
أَتَوۡاۡ
they have come
عَلَى
upon
ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ
the town
ٱلَّتِىٓ
which
أُمۡطِرَتۡ
was showered
مَطَرَ
(with) a rain
ٱلسَّوۡءِ‌ۚ
(of) evil
أَفَلَمۡ
Then do not
يَكُونُواۡ
they [were]
يَرَوۡنَهَا‌ۚ
see it
بَلۡ
Nay
كَانُواۡ
they are
لَا
not
يَرۡجُونَ
expecting
نُشُورًا
Resurrection
٤٠
And they have already come upon the town which was showered with a rain of evil [i.e., stones]. So have they not seen it? But they are not expecting resurrection.1
25:41
وَإِذَا
And when
رَأَوۡكَ
they see you
إِن
not
يَتَّخِذُونَكَ
they take you
إِلَّا
except
هُزُوًا
(in) mockery
أَهَـٰذَا
Is this
ٱلَّذِى
the one whom
بَعَثَ
Allah has sent
ٱللَّهُ
Allah has sent
رَسُولاً
(as) a Messenger
٤١
And when they see you, [O Muḥammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one whom Allāh has sent as a messenger?
25:42
إِن
He would have almost
كَادَ
He would have almost
لَيُضِلُّنَا
[surely] misled us
عَنۡ
from
ءَالِهَتِنَا
our gods
لَوۡلَآ
if not
أَن
that
صَبَرۡنَا
we had been steadfast
عَلَيۡهَا‌ۚ
to them
وَسَوۡفَ
And soon
يَعۡلَمُونَ
will know
حِينَ
when
يَرَوۡنَ
they will see
ٱلۡعَذَابَ
the punishment
مَنۡ
who
أَضَلُّ
(is) more astray
سَبِيلاً
(from the) way
٤٢
He almost would have misled us from our gods had we not been steadfast in [worship of] them." But they are going to know, when they see the punishment, who is farthest astray in [his] way.
25:43
أَرَءَيۡتَ
Have you seen
مَنِ
(one) who
ٱتَّخَذَ
takes
إِلَـٰهَهُۥ
(as) his god
هَوَٮٰهُ
his own desire
أَفَأَنتَ
Then would you
تَكُونُ
be
عَلَيۡهِ
over him
وَكِيلاً
a guardian
٤٣
Have you seen the one who takes as his god his own desire? Then would you be responsible for him?
25:44
أَمۡ
Or
تَحۡسَبُ
do you think
أَنَّ
that
أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ
most of them
يَسۡمَعُونَ
hear
أَوۡ
or
يَعۡقِلُونَ‌ۚ
understand
إِنۡ
Not
هُمۡ
they
إِلَّا
(are) except
كَٱلۡأَنۡعَـٰمِ‌ۖ
like cattle
بَلۡ
Nay
هُمۡ
they
أَضَلُّ
(are) more astray
سَبِيلاً
(from the) way
٤٤
Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are not except like livestock.1 Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way.
25:45
أَلَمۡ
Do you not
تَرَ
see
إِلَىٰ
[to]
رَبِّكَ
your Lord
كَيۡفَ
how
مَدَّ
He extends
ٱلظِّلَّ
the shadow
وَلَوۡ
And if
شَآءَ
He willed
لَجَعَلَهُۥ
surely He (could) have made it
سَاكِنًا
stationary
ثُمَّ
Then
جَعَلۡنَا
We made
ٱلشَّمۡسَ
the sun
عَلَيۡهِ
for it
دَلِيلاً
an indication
٤٥
Have you not considered your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication.1
25:46
ثُمَّ
Then
قَبَضۡنَـٰهُ
We withdraw it
إِلَيۡنَا
to Us
قَبۡضًا
a withdrawal
يَسِيرًا
gradual
٤٦
Then We [retract and] hold it with Us for a brief grasp.1
25:47
وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
جَعَلَ
made
لَكُمُ
for you
ٱلَّيۡلَ
the night
لِبَاسًا
(as) a covering
وَٱلنَّوۡمَ
and the sleep
سُبَاتًا
a rest
وَجَعَلَ
and made
ٱلنَّهَارَ
the day
نُشُورًا
a resurrection
٤٧
And it is He who has made the night for you as clothing1 and sleep [a means for] rest and has made the day a resurrection.2
25:48
وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلَّذِىٓ
(is) the One Who
أَرۡسَلَ
sends
ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ
the winds
بُشۡرَۢا
(as) glad tidings
بَيۡنَ
before
يَدَىۡ
before
رَحۡمَتِهِۦ‌ۚ
His Mercy
وَأَنزَلۡنَا
and We send down
مِنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
مَآءً
water
طَهُورًا
pure
٤٨
And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy [i.e., rainfall], and We send down from the sky pure water
25:49
لِّنُحۡــِۧىَ
That We may give life
بِهِۦ
thereby
بَلۡدَةً
(to) a land
مَّيۡتًا
dead
وَنُسۡقِيَهُۥ
and We give drink
مِمَّا
thereof
خَلَقۡنَآ
(to those) We created
أَنۡعَـٰمًا
cattle
وَأَنَاسِىَّ
and men
كَثِيرًا
many
٤٩
That We may bring to life thereby a dead land and give it as drink to those We created of numerous livestock and men.
25:50
وَلَقَدۡ
And verily
صَرَّفۡنَـٰهُ
We have distributed it
بَيۡنَهُمۡ
among them
لِيَذَّكَّرُواۡ
that they may remember
فَأَبَىٰٓ
but refuse
أَكۡثَرُ
most
ٱلنَّاسِ
(of) the people
إِلَّا
except
كُفُورًا
disbelief
٥٠
And We have certainly distributed it among them that they might be reminded,1 but most of the people refuse except disbelief.
25:51
وَلَوۡ
And if
شِئۡنَا
We willed
لَبَعَثۡنَا
surely, We (would) have raised
فِى
in
كُلِّ
every
قَرۡيَةٍ
town
نَّذِيرًا
a warner
٥١
And if We had willed, We could have sent into every city a warner.1
25:52
فَلَا
So (do) not
تُطِعِ
obey
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
the disbelievers
وَجَـٰهِدۡهُم
and strive (against) them
بِهِۦ
with it
جِهَادًا
a striving
كَبِيرًا
great
٥٢
So do not obey the disbelievers, and strive against them with it [i.e., the Qur’ān] a great striving.
25:53
۞وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
مَرَجَ
(has) released
ٱلۡبَحۡرَيۡنِ
the two seas
هَـٰذَا
[this] (one)
عَذۡبٌ
palatable
فُرَاتٌ
and sweet
وَهَـٰذَا
and [this] (one)
مِلۡحٌ
salty
أُجَاجٌ
(and) bitter
وَجَعَلَ
and He has made
بَيۡنَهُمَا
between them
بَرۡزَخًا
a barrier
وَحِجۡرًا
and a partition
مَّحۡجُورًا
forbidden
٥٣
And it is He who has released [simultaneously] the two seas [i.e., bodies of water], one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition.
25:54
وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
خَلَقَ
has created
مِنَ
from
ٱلۡمَآءِ
the water
بَشَرًا
human being
فَجَعَلَهُۥ
and has made (for) him
نَسَبًا
blood relationship
وَصِهۡرًا‌ۗ
and marriage relationship
وَكَانَ
And is
رَبُّكَ
your Lord
قَدِيرًا
All-Powerful
٥٤
And it is He who has created from water [i.e., semen] a human being and made him [a relative by] lineage and marriage. And ever is your Lord competent [concerning creation].
25:55
وَيَعۡبُدُونَ
But they worship
مِن
besides Allah
دُونِ
besides Allah
ٱللَّهِ
besides Allah
مَا
what
لَا
not profits them
يَنفَعُهُمۡ
not profits them
وَلَا
and not
يَضُرُّهُمۡ‌ۗ
harms them
وَكَانَ
and is
ٱلۡكَافِرُ
the disbeliever
عَلَىٰ
against
رَبِّهِۦ
his Lord
ظَهِيرًا
a helper
٥٥
But they worship rather than Allāh that which does not benefit them or harm them, and the disbeliever is ever, against his Lord, an assistant [to Satan].
25:56
وَمَآ
And not
أَرۡسَلۡنَـٰكَ
We sent you
إِلَّا
except
مُبَشِّرًا
(as) a bearer of glad tidings
وَنَذِيرًا
and a warner
٥٦
And We have not sent you, [O Muḥammad], except as a bringer of good tidings and a warner.
25:57
قُلۡ
Say
مَآ
Not
أَسۡــَٔلُكُمۡ
I ask (of) you
عَلَيۡهِ
for it
مِنۡ
any
أَجۡرٍ
payment
إِلَّا
except
مَن
(that) whoever wills
شَآءَ
(that) whoever wills
أَن
to
يَتَّخِذَ
take
إِلَىٰ
to
رَبِّهِۦ
his Lord
سَبِيلاً
a way
٥٧
Say, "I do not ask of you for it any payment - only that whoever wills might take to his Lord a way."
25:58
وَتَوَكَّلۡ
And put your trust
عَلَى
in
ٱلۡحَىِّ
the Ever-Living
ٱلَّذِى
the One Who
لَا
does not die
يَمُوتُ
does not die
وَسَبِّحۡ
and glorify
بِحَمۡدِهِۦ‌ۚ
with His Praise
وَكَفَىٰ
And sufficient is
بِهِۦ
He
بِذُنُوبِ
regarding the sins
عِبَادِهِۦ
(of) His slaves
خَبِيرًا
All-Aware
٥٨
And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die, and exalt [Allāh] with His praise. And sufficient is He to be, with the sins of His servants, [fully] Aware -
25:59
ٱلَّذِى
The One Who
خَلَقَ
created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ
and the earth
وَمَا
and whatever
بَيۡنَهُمَا
(is) between them
فِى
in
سِتَّةِ
six
أَيَّامٍ
periods
ثُمَّ
then
ٱسۡتَوَىٰ
He established Himself
عَلَى
over
ٱلۡعَرۡشِ‌ۚ
the Throne
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ
the Most Gracious
فَسۡــَٔلۡ
so ask
بِهِۦ
Him
خَبِيرًا
(as He is) All-Aware
٥٩
He who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days and then established Himself above the Throne1 - the Most Merciful, so ask about Him one well informed [i.e., the Prophet (ﷺ)].
25:60
وَإِذَا
And when
قِيلَ
it is said
لَهُمُ
to them
ٱسۡجُدُواۡ
Prostrate
لِلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ
to the Most Gracious
قَالُواۡ
They say
وَمَا
And what
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ
(is) the Most Gracious
أَنَسۡجُدُ
Should we prostrate
لِمَا
to what
تَأۡمُرُنَا
you order us
وَزَادَهُمۡ
And it increases them
نُفُورًا
(in) aversion
۩
And when it is said to them, "Prostrate to the Most Merciful," they say, "And what is the Most Merciful? Should we prostrate to that which you order us?" And it increases them in aversion.
25:61
تَبَارَكَ
Blessed is He
ٱلَّذِى
Who
جَعَلَ
has placed
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the skies
بُرُوجًا
constellations
وَجَعَلَ
and has placed
فِيهَا
therein
سِرٰجًا
a lamp
وَقَمَرًا
and a moon
مُّنِيرًا
shining
٦١
Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon.
25:62
وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
جَعَلَ
made
ٱلَّيۡلَ
the night
وَٱلنَّهَارَ
and the day
خِلۡفَةً
(in) succession
لِّمَنۡ
for whoever
أَرَادَ
desires
أَن
to
يَذَّكَّرَ
remember
أَوۡ
or
أَرَادَ
desires
شُكُورًا
to be thankful
٦٢
And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or desires gratitude.
25:63
وَعِبَادُ
And (the) slaves
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ
(of) the Most Gracious
ٱلَّذِينَ
(are) those who
يَمۡشُونَ
walk
عَلَى
on
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
هَوۡنًا
(in) humbleness
وَإِذَا
and when
خَاطَبَهُمُ
address them
ٱلۡجَـٰهِلُونَ
the ignorant ones
قَالُواۡ
they say
سَلَـٰمًا
Peace
٦٣
And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily,1 and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace,2
25:64
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
يَبِيتُونَ
spend (the) night
لِرَبِّهِمۡ
before their Lord
سُجَّدًا
prostrating
وَقِيَـٰمًا
and standing
٦٤
And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]
25:65
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
يَقُولُونَ
say
رَبَّنَا
Our Lord
ٱصۡرِفۡ
Avert
عَنَّا
from us
عَذَابَ
the punishment
جَهَنَّمَ‌ۖ
(of) Hell
إِنَّ
Indeed
عَذَابَهَا
its punishment
كَانَ
is
غَرَامًا
inseparable
٦٥
And those who say, "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering;
25:66
إِنَّهَا
Indeed, it
سَآءَتۡ
(is) an evil
مُسۡتَقَرًّا
abode
وَمُقَامًا
and resting place
٦٦
Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence."
25:67
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
إِذَآ
when
أَنفَقُواۡ
they spend
لَمۡ
(are) not extravagant
يُسۡرِفُواۡ
(are) not extravagant
وَلَمۡ
and are not stingy
يَقۡتُرُواۡ
and are not stingy
وَكَانَ
but are
بَيۡنَ
between
ذٰلِكَ
that
قَوَامًا
moderate
٦٧
And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderate
25:68
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
لَا
(do) not
يَدۡعُونَ
invoke
مَعَ
with
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
إِلَـٰهًا
god
ءَاخَرَ
another
وَلَا
and (do) not
يَقۡتُلُونَ
[they] kill
ٱلنَّفۡسَ
the soul
ٱلَّتِى
which
حَرَّمَ
Allah has forbidden
ٱللَّهُ
Allah has forbidden
إِلَّا
except
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
by right
وَلَا
and (do) not
يَزۡنُونَ‌ۚ
commit unlawful sexual intercourse
وَمَن
And whoever
يَفۡعَلۡ
does
ذٰلِكَ
that
يَلۡقَ
will meet
أَثَامًا
a penalty
٦٨
And those who do not invoke1 with Allāh another deity or kill the soul which Allāh has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty.
25:69
يُضَـٰعَفۡ
Will be doubled
لَهُ
for him
ٱلۡعَذَابُ
the punishment
يَوۡمَ
(on the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ
(of) Resurrection
وَيَخۡلُدۡ
and he will abide forever
فِيهِۦ
therein
مُهَانًا
humiliated
٦٩
Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated -
25:70
إِلَّا
Except
مَن
(he) who
تَابَ
repents
وَءَامَنَ
and believes
وَعَمِلَ
and does
عَمَلاً
righteous deeds
صَـٰلِحًا
righteous deeds
فَأُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
then (for) those
يُبَدِّلُ
Allah will replace
ٱللَّهُ
Allah will replace
سَيِّـَٔـاتِهِمۡ
their evil deeds
حَسَنَـٰتٍ‌ۗ
(with) good ones
وَكَانَ
And is
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
غَفُورًا
Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمًا
Most Merciful
٧٠
Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allāh will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allāh Forgiving and Merciful.
25:71
وَمَن
And whoever
تَابَ
repents
وَعَمِلَ
and does
صَـٰلِحًا
righteous (deeds)
فَإِنَّهُۥ
then indeed, he
يَتُوبُ
turns
إِلَى
to
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
مَتَابًا
(with) repentance
٧١
And he who repents and does righteousness does indeed turn to Allāh with [accepted] repentance.
25:72
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
لَا
(do) not
يَشۡهَدُونَ
bear witness
ٱلزُّورَ
(to) the falsehood
وَإِذَا
and when
مَرُّواۡ
they pass
بِٱللَّغۡوِ
by futility
مَرُّواۡ
they pass
كِرَامًا
(as) dignified ones
٧٢
And [they are] those who do not testify to falsehood, and when they pass near ill speech, they pass by with dignity.
25:73
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
إِذَا
when
ذُكِّرُواۡ
they are reminded
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِ
of (the) Verses
رَبِّهِمۡ
(of) their Lord
لَمۡ
(do) not
يَخِرُّواۡ
fall
عَلَيۡهَا
upon them
صُمًّا
deaf
وَعُمۡيَانًا
and blind
٧٣
And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind.
25:74
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
يَقُولُونَ
say
رَبَّنَا
Our Lord
هَبۡ
Grant
لَنَا
to us
مِنۡ
from
أَزۡوٰجِنَا
our spouses
وَذُرِّيَّـٰتِنَا
and our offspring
قُرَّةَ
comfort
أَعۡيُنٍ
(to) our eyes
وَٱجۡعَلۡنَا
and make us
لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ
for the righteous
إِمَامًا
a leader
٧٤
And those who say, "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes1 and make us a leader [i.e., example] for the righteous."
25:75
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
Those
يُجۡزَوۡنَ
will be awarded
ٱلۡغُرۡفَةَ
the Chamber
بِمَا
because
صَبَرُواۡ
they were patient
وَيُلَقَّوۡنَ
and they will be met
فِيهَا
therein
تَحِيَّةً
(with) greetings
وَسَلَـٰمًا
and peace
٧٥
Those will be awarded the Chamber1 for what they patiently endured, and they will be received therein with greetings and [words of] peace,
25:76
خَـٰلِدِينَ
Will abide forever
فِيهَا‌ۚ
in it
حَسُنَتۡ
Good
مُسۡتَقَرًّا
(is) the settlement
وَمُقَامًا
and a resting place
٧٦
Abiding eternally therein. Good is the settlement and residence.
25:77
قُلۡ
Say
مَا
Not
يَعۡبَؤُاۡ
will care
بِكُمۡ
for you
رَبِّى
my Lord
لَوۡلَا
if not
دُعَآؤُكُمۡ‌ۖ
your prayer (is to Him)
فَقَدۡ
But verily
كَذَّبۡتُمۡ
you have denied
فَسَوۡفَ
so soon
يَكُونُ
will be
لِزَامَۢا
the inevitable (punishment)
٧٧
Say, "What would my Lord care for you if not for your supplication?"1 For you [disbelievers] have denied, so it [i.e., your denial] is going to be adherent.2
26:1
طسٓمٓ
Ta Seem Meem
١
Ṭā, Seen, Meem.1
26:2
تِلۡكَ
These
ءَايَـٰتُ
(are the) Verses
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ
(of) the Book
ٱلۡمُبِينِ
clear
٢
These are the verses of the clear Book.
26:3
لَعَلَّكَ
Perhaps you
بَـٰخِعٌ
(would) kill
نَّفۡسَكَ
yourself
أَلَّا
that not
يَكُونُواۡ
they become
مُؤۡمِنِينَ
believers
٣
Perhaps, [O Muḥammad], you would kill yourself with grief that they will not be believers.
26:4
إِن
If
نَّشَأۡ
We will
نُنَزِّلۡ
We can send down
عَلَيۡهِم
to them
مِّنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
ءَايَةً
a Sign
فَظَلَّتۡ
so would bend
أَعۡنَـٰقُهُمۡ
their necks
لَهَا
to it
خَـٰضِعِينَ
(in) humility
٤
If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled.1
26:5
وَمَا
And (does) not
يَأۡتِيهِم
come to them
مِّن
any
ذِكۡرٍ
reminder
مِّنَ
from
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ
the Most Gracious
مُحۡدَثٍ
new
إِلَّا
but
كَانُواۡ
they
عَنۡهُ
from it
مُعۡرِضِينَ
turn away
٥
And no mention [i.e., revelation] comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it.
26:6
فَقَدۡ
So verily
كَذَّبُواۡ
they have denied
فَسَيَأۡتِيهِمۡ
then will come to them
أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُاۡ
the news
مَا
(of) what
كَانُواۡ
they used
بِهِۦ
at it
يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
(to) mock
٦
For they have already denied, but there will come to them the news of that which they used to ridicule.
26:7
أَوَلَمۡ
Do not
يَرَوۡاۡ
they see
إِلَى
at
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
كَمۡ
how many
أَنۢبَتۡنَا
We produced
فِيهَا
in it
مِن
of
كُلِّ
every
زَوۡجٍ
kind
كَرِيمٍ
noble
٧
Did they not look at the earth - how much We have produced therein from every noble kind?
26:8
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
ذٰلِكَ
that
لَأَيَةً‌ۖ
surely (is) a sign
وَمَا
but not
كَانَ
are
أَكۡثَرُهُم
most of them
مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
believers
٨
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
26:9
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
لَهُوَ
surely, He
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
the Most Merciful
٩
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
26:10
وَإِذۡ
And when
نَادَىٰ
your Lord called
رَبُّكَ
your Lord called
مُوسَىٰٓ
Musa
أَنِ
[that]
ٱئۡتِ
Go
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
(to) the people
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
(who are) wrongdoers
١٠
And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people -
26:11
قَوۡمَ
(The) people
فِرۡعَوۡنَ‌ۚ
(of) Firaun
أَلَا
Will not
يَتَّقُونَ
they fear
١١
The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allāh?"
26:12
قَالَ
He said
رَبِّ
My Lord
إِنِّىٓ
Indeed, I
أَخَافُ
[I] fear
أَن
that
يُكَذِّبُونِ
they will deny me
١٢
He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me
26:13
وَيَضِيقُ
And straitens
صَدۡرِى
my breast
وَلَا
and not
يَنطَلِقُ
expresses well
لِسَانِى
my tongue
فَأَرۡسِلۡ
so send
إِلَىٰ
for
هَـٰرُونَ
Harun
١٣
And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron.
26:14
وَلَهُمۡ
And they have
عَلَىَّ
against me
ذَنۢبٌ
a crime
فَأَخَافُ
so I fear
أَن
that
يَقۡتُلُونِ
they will kill me
١٤
And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me."
26:15
قَالَ
He said
كَلَّا‌ۖ
Nay
فَٱذۡهَبَا
go both of you
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَآ‌ۖ
with Our Signs
إِنَّا
Indeed, We
مَعَكُم
(are) with you
مُّسۡتَمِعُونَ
listening
١٥
[Allāh] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening.
26:16
فَأۡتِيَا
So go both of you
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
(to) Firaun
فَقُولَآ
and say
إِنَّا
'Indeed, we
رَسُولُ
(are the) Messenger
رَبِّ
(of the) Lord
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
(of) the worlds
١٦
Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers1 of the Lord of the worlds,
26:17
أَنۡ
[That]
أَرۡسِلۡ
send
مَعَنَا
with us
بَنِىٓ
(the) Children of Israel.'
إِسۡرٰٓءِيلَ
(the) Children of Israel.'
١٧
[Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'"
26:18
قَالَ
He said
أَلَمۡ
Did not
نُرَبِّكَ
we bring you up
فِينَا
among us
وَلِيدًا
(as) a child
وَلَبِثۡتَ
and you remained
فِينَا
among us
مِنۡ
of
عُمُرِكَ
your life
سِنِينَ
years
١٨
[Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life?
26:19
وَفَعَلۡتَ
And you did
فَعۡلَتَكَ
your deed
ٱلَّتِى
which
فَعَلۡتَ
you did
وَأَنتَ
and you
مِنَ
(were) of
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
the ungrateful
١٩
And [then] you did your deed which you did,1 and you were of the ungrateful."
26:20
قَالَ
He said
فَعَلۡتُهَآ
I did it
إِذًا
when
وَأَنَاۡ
I
مِنَ
(was) of
ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
those who are astray
٢٠
[Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray [i.e., ignorant].
26:21
فَفَرَرۡتُ
So I fled
مِنكُمۡ
from you
لَمَّا
when
خِفۡتُكُمۡ
I feared you
فَوَهَبَ
But granted
لِى
to me
رَبِّى
my Lord
حُكۡمًا
judgment
وَجَعَلَنِى
and made me
مِنَ
of
ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
the Messengers
٢١
So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me judgement [i.e., wisdom and prophet hood] and appointed me [as one] of the messengers.
26:22
وَتِلۡكَ
And this
نِعۡمَةٌ
(is the) favor
تَمُنُّهَا
with which you reproach
عَلَىَّ
[on] me
أَنۡ
that
عَبَّدتَّ
you have enslaved
بَنِىٓ
(the) Children of Israel
إِسۡرٰٓءِيلَ
(the) Children of Israel
٢٢
And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?"
26:23
قَالَ
Firaun said
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
Firaun said
وَمَا
And what
رَبُّ
(is the) Lord
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
(of) the worlds
٢٣
Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?"
26:24
قَالَ
He said
رَبُّ
Lord
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
and the earth
وَمَا
and whatever
بَيۡنَهُمَآ‌ۖ
(is) between them
إِن
if
كُنتُم
you (should) be
مُّوقِنِينَ
convinced
٢٤
[Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced."
26:25
قَالَ
He said
لِمَنۡ
to those
حَوۡلَهُۥٓ
around him
أَلَا
Do not
تَسۡتَمِعُونَ
you hear
٢٥
[Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?"
26:26
قَالَ
He said
رَبُّكُمۡ
Your Lord
وَرَبُّ
and (the) Lord
ءَابَآئِكُمُ
(of) your forefathers
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
(of) your forefathers
٢٦
[Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers."
26:27
قَالَ
He said
إِنَّ
Indeed
رَسُولَكُمُ
your Messenger
ٱلَّذِىٓ
who
أُرۡسِلَ
has been sent
إِلَيۡكُمۡ
to you
لَمَجۡنُونٌ
(is) surely mad
٢٧
[Pharaoh] said,1 "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad."
26:28
قَالَ
He said
رَبُّ
Lord
ٱلۡمَشۡرِقِ
(of) the east
وَٱلۡمَغۡرِبِ
and the west
وَمَا
and whatever
بَيۡنَهُمَآ‌ۖ
(is) between them
إِن
if
كُنتُمۡ
you were
تَعۡقِلُونَ
(to) reason
٢٨
[Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason."
26:29
قَالَ
He said
لَئِنِ
If
ٱتَّخَذۡتَ
you take
إِلَـٰهًا
a god
غَيۡرِى
other than me
لَأَجۡعَلَنَّكَ
I will surely make you
مِنَ
among
ٱلۡمَسۡجُونِينَ
those imprisoned
٢٩
[Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned."
26:30
قَالَ
He said
أَوَلَوۡ
Even if
جِئۡتُكَ
I bring you
بِشَىۡءٍ
something
مُّبِينٍ
manifest
٣٠
[Moses] said, "Even if I brought you something [i.e., proof] manifest?"
26:31
قَالَ
He said
فَأۡتِ
Then bring
بِهِۦٓ
it
إِن
if
كُنتَ
you are
مِنَ
of
ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
the truthful
٣١
[Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful."
26:32
فَأَلۡقَىٰ
So he threw
عَصَاهُ
his staff
فَإِذَا
and behold
هِىَ
It
ثُعۡبَانٌ
(was) a serpent
مُّبِينٌ
manifest
٣٢
So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest.1
26:33
وَنَزَعَ
And he drew out
يَدَهُۥ
his hand
فَإِذَا
and behold
هِىَ
It
بَيۡضَآءُ
(was) white
لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ
for the observers
٣٣
And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers.
26:34
قَالَ
He said
لِلۡمَلَإِ
to the chiefs
حَوۡلَهُۥٓ
around him
إِنَّ
Indeed
هَـٰذَا
this
لَسَـٰحِرٌ
(is) surely a magician
عَلِيمٌ
learned
٣٤
[Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, "Indeed, this is a learned magician.
26:35
يُرِيدُ
He wants
أَن
to
يُخۡرِجَكُم
drive you out
مِّنۡ
from
أَرۡضِكُم
your land
بِسِحۡرِهِۦ
by his magic
فَمَاذَا
so what
تَأۡمُرُونَ
(do) you advise
٣٥
He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise?"
26:36
قَالُوٓاۡ
They said
أَرۡجِهۡ
Postpone him
وَأَخَاهُ
and his brother
وَٱبۡعَثۡ
and send
فِى
in
ٱلۡمَدَآئِنِ
the cities
حَـٰشِرِينَ
gatherers
٣٦
They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers
26:37
يَأۡتُوكَ
They (will) bring to you
بِكُلِّ
every
سَحَّارٍ
magician
عَلِيمٍ
learned
٣٧
Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician."
26:38
فَجُمِعَ
So were assembled
ٱلسَّحَرَةُ
the magicians
لِمِيقَـٰتِ
for (the) appointment
يَوۡمٍ
(on) a day
مَّعۡلُومٍ
well-known
٣٨
So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day.1
26:39
وَقِيلَ
And it was said
لِلنَّاسِ
to the people
هَلۡ
Will
أَنتُم
you
مُّجۡتَمِعُونَ
assemble
٣٩
And it was said to the people, "Will you congregate.
26:40
لَعَلَّنَا
That we may
نَتَّبِعُ
follow
ٱلسَّحَرَةَ
the magicians
إِن
if
كَانُواۡ
they are
هُمُ
they are
ٱلۡغَـٰلِبِينَ
the victorious
٤٠
That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant?"
26:41
فَلَمَّا
So when
جَآءَ
came
ٱلسَّحَرَةُ
the magicians
قَالُواۡ
they said
لِفِرۡعَوۡنَ
to Firaun
أَئِنَّ
Is there
لَنَا
for us
لَأَجۡرًا
a reward
إِن
if
كُنَّا
we are
نَحۡنُ
we are
ٱلۡغَـٰلِبِينَ
the victorious
٤١
And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant?"
26:42
قَالَ
He said
نَعَمۡ
Yes
وَإِنَّكُمۡ
and indeed you
إِذًا
then
لَّمِنَ
surely (will be) of
ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِينَ
the ones who are brought near
٤٢
He said, "Yes, and indeed, you will then be of those near [to me]."
26:43
قَالَ
Said
لَهُم
to them
مُّوسَىٰٓ
Musa
أَلۡقُواۡ
Throw
مَآ
what
أَنتُم
you
مُّلۡقُونَ
(are) going to throw
٤٣
Moses said to them, "Throw whatever you will throw."
26:44
فَأَلۡقَوۡاۡ
So they threw
حِبَالَهُمۡ
their ropes
وَعِصِيَّهُمۡ
and their staffs
وَقَالُواۡ
and said
بِعِزَّةِ
By the might
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
(of) Firaun
إِنَّا
indeed, we
لَنَحۡنُ
surely, we
ٱلۡغَـٰلِبُونَ
(are) the victorious
٤٤
So they threw their ropes and their staffs and said, "By the might of Pharaoh, indeed it is we who are predominant."
26:45
فَأَلۡقَىٰ
Then threw
مُوسَىٰ
Musa
عَصَاهُ
his staff
فَإِذَا
and behold
هِىَ
It
تَلۡقَفُ
swallowed
مَا
what
يَأۡفِكُونَ
they falsified
٤٥
Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it devoured what they falsified.
26:46
فَأُلۡقِىَ
Then fell down
ٱلسَّحَرَةُ
the magicians
سَـٰجِدِينَ
prostrate
٤٦
So the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allāh].
26:47
قَالُوٓاۡ
They said
ءَامَنَّا
We believe
بِرَبِّ
in (the) Lord
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
(of) the worlds
٤٧
They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds,
26:48
رَبِّ
Lord
مُوسَىٰ
(of) Musa
وَهَـٰرُونَ
and Harun
٤٨
The Lord of Moses and Aaron."
26:49
قَالَ
He said
ءَامَنتُمۡ
You believed
لَهُۥ
in him
قَبۡلَ
before
أَنۡ
[that]
ءَاذَنَ
I gave permission
لَكُمۡ‌ۖ
to you
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, he
لَكَبِيرُكُمُ
(is) surely your chief
ٱلَّذِى
who
عَلَّمَكُمُ
has taught you
ٱلسِّحۡرَ
the magic
فَلَسَوۡفَ
so surely soon
تَعۡلَمُونَ‌ۚ
you will know
لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ
I will surely cut off
أَيۡدِيَكُمۡ
your hands
وَأَرۡجُلَكُم
and your feet
مِّنۡ
of
خِلَـٰفٍ
opposite sides
وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمۡ
and I will surely crucify you
أَجۡمَعِينَ
all
٤٩
[Pharaoh] said, "You believed him [i.e., Moses] before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic, but you are going to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all."
26:50
قَالُواۡ
They said
لَا
No
ضَيۡرَ‌ۖ
harm
إِنَّآ
Indeed, we
إِلَىٰ
to
رَبِّنَا
our Lord
مُنقَلِبُونَ
(will) return
٥٠
They said, "No harm. Indeed, to our Lord we will return.
26:51
إِنَّا
Indeed, we
نَطۡمَعُ
hope
أَن
that
يَغۡفِرَ
will forgive
لَنَا
us
رَبُّنَا
our Lord
خَطَـٰيَـٰنَآ
our sins
أَن
because
كُنَّآ
we are
أَوَّلَ
(the) first
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
(of) the believers
٥١
Indeed, we aspire that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we were the first of the believers."
26:52
۞وَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ
And We inspired
إِلَىٰ
to
مُوسَىٰٓ
Musa
أَنۡ
[that]
أَسۡرِ
Travel by night
بِعِبَادِىٓ
with My slaves
إِنَّكُم
indeed, you
مُّتَّبَعُونَ
(will be) followed
٥٢
And We inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants; indeed, you will be pursued."
26:53
فَأَرۡسَلَ
Then sent
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
Firaun
فِى
in
ٱلۡمَدَآئِنِ
the cities
حَـٰشِرِينَ
gatherers
٥٣
Then Pharaoh sent among the cities gatherers1
26:54
إِنَّ
Indeed
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
these
لَشِرۡذِمَةٌ
(are) certainly a band
قَلِيلُونَ
small
٥٤
[And said], "Indeed, those are but a small band,
26:55
وَإِنَّهُمۡ
And indeed, they
لَنَا
[to] us
لَغَآئِظُونَ
(are) surely enraging
٥٥
And indeed, they are enraging us,
26:56
وَإِنَّا
And indeed, we
لَجَمِيعٌ
(are) surely a multitude
حَـٰذِرُونَ
forewarned
٥٦
And indeed, we are a cautious society..."
26:57
فَأَخۡرَجۡنَـٰهُم
So We expelled them
مِّن
from
جَنَّـٰتٍ
gardens
وَعُيُونٍ
and springs
٥٧
So We removed them from gardens and springs
26:58
وَكُنُوزٍ
And treasures
وَمَقَامٍ
and a place
كَرِيمٍ
honorable
٥٨
And treasures and honorable station1 -
26:59
كَذٰلِكَ
Thus
وَأَوۡرَثۡنَـٰهَا
And We caused to inherit them
بَنِىٓ
(the) Children of Israel
إِسۡرٰٓءِيلَ
(the) Children of Israel
٥٩
Thus. And We caused to inherit it the Children of Israel.
26:60
فَأَتۡبَعُوهُم
So they followed them
مُّشۡرِقِينَ
(at) sunrise
٦٠
So they pursued them at sunrise.
26:61
فَلَمَّا
Then when
تَرٰٓءَا
saw each other
ٱلۡجَمۡعَانِ
the two hosts
قَالَ
said
أَصۡحَـٰبُ
(the) companions
مُوسَىٰٓ
(of) Musa
إِنَّا
Indeed, we
لَمُدۡرَكُونَ
(are) surely to be overtaken
٦١
And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, "Indeed, we are to be overtaken!"
26:62
قَالَ
He said
كَلَّآ‌ۖ
Nay
إِنَّ
indeed
مَعِىَ
with me
رَبِّى
(is) my Lord
سَيَهۡدِينِ
He will guide me
٦٢
[Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me."
26:63
فَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ
Then We inspired
إِلَىٰ
to
مُوسَىٰٓ
Musa
أَنِ
[that]
ٱضۡرِب
Strike
بِّعَصَاكَ
with your staff
ٱلۡبَحۡرَ‌ۖ
the sea
فَٱنفَلَقَ
So it parted
فَكَانَ
and became
كُلُّ
each
فِرۡقٍ
part
كَٱلطَّوۡدِ
like the mountain
ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
[the] great
٦٣
Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain.
26:64
وَأَزۡلَفۡنَا
And We brought near
ثَمَّ
there
ٱلۡأَخَرِينَ
the others
٦٤
And We advanced thereto the others [i.e., the pursuers].
26:65
وَأَنجَيۡنَا
And We saved
مُوسَىٰ
Musa
وَمَن
and who
مَّعَهُۥٓ
(were) with him
أَجۡمَعِينَ
all
٦٥
And We saved Moses and those with him, all together.
26:66
ثُمَّ
Then
أَغۡرَقۡنَا
We drowned
ٱلۡأَخَرِينَ
the others
٦٦
Then We drowned the others.
26:67
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
ذٰلِكَ
that
لَأَيَةً‌ۖ
surely (is) a Sign
وَمَا
but not
كَانَ
are
أَكۡثَرُهُم
most of them
مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
believers
٦٧
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
26:68
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
لَهُوَ
surely He
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
the Most Merciful
٦٨
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
26:69
وَٱتۡلُ
And recite
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
to them
نَبَأَ
(the) news
إِبۡرٰهِيمَ
(of) Ibrahim
٦٩
And recite to them the news of Abraham,
26:70
إِذۡ
When
قَالَ
he said
لِأَبِيهِ
to his father
وَقَوۡمِهِۦ
and his people
مَا
What
تَعۡبُدُونَ
(do) you worship
٧٠
When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?"
26:71
قَالُواۡ
They said
نَعۡبُدُ
We worship
أَصۡنَامًا
idols
فَنَظَلُّ
so we will remain
لَهَا
to them
عَـٰكِفِينَ
devoted
٧١
They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted."
26:72
قَالَ
He said
هَلۡ
Do
يَسۡمَعُونَكُمۡ
they hear you
إِذۡ
when
تَدۡعُونَ
you call
٧٢
He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate?
26:73
أَوۡ
Or
يَنفَعُونَكُمۡ
(do) they benefit you
أَوۡ
or
يَضُرُّونَ
they harm (you)
٧٣
Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?"
26:74
قَالُواۡ
They said
بَلۡ
Nay
وَجَدۡنَآ
but we found
ءَابَآءَنَا
our forefathers
كَذٰلِكَ
like that
يَفۡعَلُونَ
doing
٧٤
They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus."
26:75
قَالَ
He said
أَفَرَءَيۡتُم
Do you see
مَّا
what
كُنتُمۡ
you have been
تَعۡبُدُونَ
worshipping
٧٥
He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping,
26:76
أَنتُمۡ
You
وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ
and your forefathers
ٱلۡأَقۡدَمُونَ
and your forefathers
٧٦
You and your ancient forefathers?
26:77
فَإِنَّهُمۡ
Indeed, they

رَبَّ
(the) Lord
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
(of) the worlds
٧٧
Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds,1
26:78
ٱلَّذِى
The One Who
خَلَقَنِى
created me
فَهُوَ
and He
يَهۡدِينِ
guides me
٧٨
Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me.
26:79
وَٱلَّذِى
And the One Who
هُوَ
[He]
يُطۡعِمُنِى
gives me food
وَيَسۡقِينِ
and gives me drink
٧٩
And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink.
26:80
وَإِذَا
And when
مَرِضۡتُ
I am ill
فَهُوَ
then He
يَشۡفِينِ
cures me
٨٠
And when I am ill, it is He who cures me
26:81
وَٱلَّذِى
And the One Who
يُمِيتُنِى
will cause me to die
ثُمَّ
then
يُحۡيِينِ
he will give me life
٨١
And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life
26:82
وَٱلَّذِىٓ
And the One Who

And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense."
26:83
رَبِّ
My Lord

[for] me
حُكۡمًا
wisdom

and join me
بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
with the righteous
٨٣
[And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous.
26:84
وَٱجۡعَل
And grant
لِّى
[for] me
لِسَانَ
a mention
صِدۡقٍ

فِى
among
ٱلۡأَخِرِينَ
the later (generations)
٨٤
And grant me a mention [i.e., reputation] of honor among later generations.
26:85
وَٱجۡعَلۡنِى
And make me
مِن
of
وَرَثَةِ
(the) inheritors
جَنَّةِ
(of) Garden(s)
ٱلنَّعِيمِ
(of) Delight
٨٥
And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure.
26:86
وَٱغۡفِرۡ

my father
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, he
كَانَ

ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
those astray
٨٦
And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray.
26:87
وَلَا
And (do) not

disgrace me
يَوۡمَ
(on the) Day
يُبۡعَثُونَ
they are resurrected
٨٧
And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected -
26:88

But only one who comes to Allāh with a sound heart."
26:90
وَأُزۡلِفَتِ
And (will be) brought near
ٱلۡجَنَّةُ
the Paradise
لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ
for the righteous
٩٠
And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous.
26:91
وَبُرِّزَتِ
And (will be) made manifest
ٱلۡجَحِيمُ
the Hellfire
لِلۡغَاوِينَ
to the deviators
٩١
And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators,
26:92
وَقِيلَ
And it will be said
لَهُمۡ
to them
أَيۡنَ

26:94
فَكُبۡكِبُواۡ
Then they will be overturned
فِيهَا
into it
هُمۡ
they
وَٱلۡغَاوُۥنَ

٩٤
So they will be overturned into it [i.e., Hellfire], they and the deviators
26:95
وَجُنُودُ
And (the) hosts

And the soldiers of Iblees, all together.
26:96

They will say while they dispute therein,

we had

So fear Allāh and obey me.

And it will come to them
بَغۡتَةً
suddenly
وَهُمۡ
while they
لَا
(do) not
يَشۡعُرُونَ
perceive
٢٠٢
And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not.
26:203
فَيَقُولُواۡ
Then they will say
هَلۡ
Are
نَحۡنُ
we
مُنظَرُونَ
(to be) reprieved
٢٠٣
And they will say, "May we be reprieved?"
26:204
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا
So is it for Our punishment
يَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَ
they wish to hasten
٢٠٤
So for Our punishment are they impatient?
26:205
أَفَرَءَيۡتَ
Then have you seen
إِن
if
مَّتَّعۡنَـٰهُمۡ
We let them enjoy
سِنِينَ
(for) years
٢٠٥
Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years
26:206
ثُمَّ
Then
جَآءَهُم
comes to them
مَّا
what
كَانُواۡ
they were
يُوعَدُونَ
promised
٢٠٦
And then there came to them that which they were promised?
26:207
مَآ
Not
أَغۡنَىٰ
(will) avail
عَنۡهُم
them
مَّا
what
كَانُواۡ
enjoyment they were given
يُمَتَّعُونَ
enjoyment they were given
٢٠٧
They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided.
26:208
وَمَآ
And not
أَهۡلَكۡنَا
We destroyed
مِن
any
قَرۡيَةٍ
town
إِلَّا
but
لَهَا
it had
مُنذِرُونَ
warners
٢٠٨
And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners
26:209
ذِكۡرَىٰ
(To) remind
وَمَا
and not
كُنَّا
We are
ظَـٰلِمِينَ
unjust
٢٠٩
As a reminder; and never have We been unjust.
26:210
وَمَا
And not
تَنَزَّلَتۡ
have brought it down
بِهِ
have brought it down
ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ
the devils
٢١٠
And the devils have not brought it [i.e., the revelation] down.1
26:211
وَمَا
And not
يَنۢبَغِى
(it) suits
لَهُمۡ
[for] them
وَمَا
and not
يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ
they are able
٢١١
It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able.
26:212
إِنَّهُمۡ
Indeed, they
عَنِ
from
ٱلسَّمۡعِ
the hearing
لَمَعۡزُولُونَ
(are) surely banished
٢١٢
Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed.1
26:213
فَلَا
So (do) not
تَدۡعُ
invoke
مَعَ
with
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
إِلَـٰهًا
god
ءَاخَرَ
another
فَتَكُونَ
lest you be
مِنَ
of
ٱلۡمُعَذَّبِينَ
those punished
٢١٣
So do not invoke1 with Allāh another deity and [thus] be among the punished.
26:214
وَأَنذِرۡ
And warn
عَشِيرَتَكَ
your kindred
ٱلۡأَقۡرَبِينَ
[the] closest
٢١٤
And warn, [O Muḥammad], your closest kindred.
26:215
وَٱخۡفِضۡ
And lower
جَنَاحَكَ
your wing
لِمَنِ
to (those) who
ٱتَّبَعَكَ
follow you
مِنَ
of
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
the believers
٢١٥
And lower your wing [i.e., show kindness] to those who follow you of the believers.
26:216
فَإِنۡ
Then if
عَصَوۡكَ
they disobey you
فَقُلۡ
then say
إِنِّى
Indeed, I am
بَرِىٓءٌ
innocent
مِّمَّا
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
you do
٢١٦
And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing."
26:217
وَتَوَكَّلۡ
And put (your) trust
عَلَى
in
ٱلۡعَزِيزِ
the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمِ
the Most Merciful
٢١٧
And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,
26:218
ٱلَّذِى
The One Who
يَرَٮٰكَ
sees you
حِينَ
when
تَقُومُ
you stand up
٢١٨
Who sees you when you arise1
26:219
وَتَقَلُّبَكَ
And your movements
فِى
among
ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
those who prostrate
٢١٩
And your movement among those who prostrate.1
26:220
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, He
هُوَ
[He]
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
(is) the All-Hearer
ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
the All-Knower
٢٢٠
Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
26:221
هَلۡ
Shall
أُنَبِّئُكُمۡ
I inform you
عَلَىٰ
upon
مَن
whom
تَنَزَّلُ
descend
ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ
the devils
٢٢١
Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend?
26:222
تَنَزَّلُ
They descend
عَلَىٰ
upon
كُلِّ
every
أَفَّاكٍ
liar
أَثِيمٍ
sinful
٢٢٢
They descend upon every sinful liar.
26:223
يُلۡقُونَ
They pass on
ٱلسَّمۡعَ
(what is) heard
وَأَكۡثَرُهُمۡ
and most of them
كَـٰذِبُونَ
(are) liars
٢٢٣
They pass on what is heard,1 and most of them are liars.
26:224
وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ
And the poets
يَتَّبِعُهُمُ
follow them
ٱلۡغَاوُۥنَ
the deviators
٢٢٤
And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them;
26:225
أَلَمۡ
Do not
تَرَ
you see
أَنَّهُمۡ
that they
فِى
in
كُلِّ
every
وَادٍ
valley
يَهِيمُونَ
[they] roam
٢٢٥
Do you not see that in every valley they roam1
26:226
وَأَنَّهُمۡ
And that they
يَقُولُونَ
say
مَا
what
لَا
not
يَفۡعَلُونَ
they do
٢٢٦
And that they say what they do not do? -
26:227
إِلَّا
Except
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
وَعَمِلُواۡ
and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
righteous deeds
وَذَكَرُواۡ
and remember
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
كَثِيرًا
much
وَٱنتَصَرُواۡ
and defend themselves
مِنۢ
after
بَعۡدِ
after
مَا
after
ظُلِمُواۡ‌ۗ
they were wronged
وَسَيَعۡلَمُ
And will come to know
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ظَلَمُوٓاۡ
have wronged
أَىَّ
(to) what
مُنقَلَبٍ
return
يَنقَلِبُونَ
they will return
٢٢٧
Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allāh often and defend [the Muslims]1 after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned.

ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ
(of) the Quran

١
Ṭā, Seen.1 These are the verses of the Qur’ān [i.e., recitation] and a clear Book
27:2
هُدًى
A guidance
وَبُشۡرَىٰ
and glad tidings
لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
for the believers
٢
As guidance and good tidings for the believers
27:3
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
يُقِيمُونَ
establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
the prayer
وَيُؤۡتُونَ
and give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
zakah
وَهُم
and they
بِٱلۡأَخِرَةِ
in the Hereafter
هُمۡ
[they]
يُوقِنُونَ
believe with certainty
٣
Who establish prayer and give zakāh, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith].
27:4
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
لَا
(do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
believe
بِٱلۡأَخِرَةِ
in the Hereafter
زَيَّنَّا
We have made fair-seeming
لَهُمۡ
to them
أَعۡمَـٰلَهُمۡ
their deeds
فَهُمۡ
so they
يَعۡمَهُونَ
wander blindly
٤
Indeed, for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made pleasing to them their deeds, so they wander blindly.
27:5
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
Those
ٱلَّذِينَ
(are) the ones
لَهُمۡ
for them
سُوٓءُ
(is) an evil
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
[the] punishment
وَهُمۡ
and they
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ
the Hereafter
هُمُ
[they]
ٱلۡأَخۡسَرُونَ
(will be) the greatest losers
٥
Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers.
27:6
وَإِنَّكَ
And indeed, you
لَتُلَقَّى
surely, receive
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ
the Quran
مِن
from [near]
لَّدُنۡ
from [near]
حَكِيمٍ
the All-Wise
عَلِيمٍ
the All-Knower
٦
And indeed, [O Muḥammad], you receive the Qur’ān from one Wise and Knowing.
27:7
إِذۡ
When
قَالَ
said
مُوسَىٰ
Musa
لِأَهۡلِهِۦٓ
to his family
إِنِّىٓ
Indeed, I
ءَانَسۡتُ
perceive
نَارًا
a fire
سَـَٔـاتِيكُم
I will bring you
مِّنۡهَا
from it
بِخَبَرٍ
some information
أَوۡ
or
ءَاتِيكُم
I will bring you
بِشِهَابٍ
a torch
قَبَسٍ
burning
لَّعَلَّكُمۡ
so that you may
تَصۡطَلُونَ
warm yourselves
٧
[Mention] when Moses said to his family, "Indeed, I have perceived a fire. I will bring you from there information or will bring you a burning torch that you may warm yourselves."
27:8
فَلَمَّا
But when
جَآءَهَا
he came to it
نُودِىَ
he was called
أَنۢ
[that]
بُورِكَ
Blessed is
مَن
who
فِى
(is) at
ٱلنَّارِ
the fire
وَمَنۡ
and whoever
حَوۡلَهَا
(is) around it
وَسُبۡحَـٰنَ
And glory be
ٱللَّهِ
(to) Allah
رَبِّ
(the) Lord
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
(of) the worlds
٨
But when he came to it, he was called, "Blessed is whoever is at the fire and whoever is around it. And exalted is Allāh, Lord of the worlds.
27:9
يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ
O Musa
إِنَّهُۥٓ
Indeed
أَنَا
I Am
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
the All-Mighty
ٱلۡحَكِيمُ
the All-Wise
٩
O Moses, indeed it is I - Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise."
27:10
وَأَلۡقِ
And, "Throw
عَصَاكَ‌ۚ
your staff
فَلَمَّا
But when
رَءَاهَا
he saw it
تَهۡتَزُّ
moving
كَأَنَّهَا
as if it
جَآنٌّ
(were) a snake
وَلَّىٰ
he turned back
مُدۡبِرًا
(in) flight
وَلَمۡ
and (did) not
يُعَقِّبۡ‌ۚ
look back
يَـٰمُوسَىٰ
O Musa
لَا
(Do) not
تَخَفۡ
fear
إِنِّى
Indeed, [I]
لَا
(do) not
يَخَافُ
fear
لَدَىَّ
(in) My presence
ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ
the Messengers
١٠
And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return.1 [Allāh said], "O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear.
27:11
إِلَّا
Except
مَن
who
ظَلَمَ
wrongs
ثُمَّ
then
بَدَّلَ
substitutes
حُسۡنَۢا
good
بَعۡدَ
after
سُوٓءٍ
evil
فَإِنِّى
then indeed, I Am
غَفُورٌ
Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٌ
Most Merciful
١١
Otherwise, he who wrongs, then substitutes good after evil - indeed, I am Forgiving and Merciful.
27:12
وَأَدۡخِلۡ
And enter
يَدَكَ
your hand
فِى
into
جَيۡبِكَ
your bosom
تَخۡرُجۡ
it will come forth

مِنۡ
without
غَيۡرِ
without
سُوٓءٍ‌ۖ

(These are) among
تِسۡعِ
nine
ءَايَـٰتٍ
signs
إِلَىٰ
to
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firaun
وَقَوۡمِهِۦٓ‌ۚ
and his people
إِنَّهُمۡ
Indeed, they
كَانُواۡ
are
قَوۡمًا
a people
فَـٰسِقِينَ
defiantly disobedient
١٢
And put your hand into the opening of your garment [at the breast]; it will come out white without disease. [These are] among the nine signs [you will take] to Pharaoh and his people. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient."
27:13
فَلَمَّا
But when
جَآءَتۡهُمۡ
came to them
ءَايَـٰتُنَا
Our Signs
مُبۡصِرَةً
visible
قَالُواۡ
they said
هَـٰذَا
This
سِحۡرٌ
(is) a magic
مُّبِينٌ
manifest
١٣
But when there came to them Our visible signs, they said, "This is obvious magic."
27:14
وَجَحَدُواۡ
And they rejected
بِهَا
them
وَٱسۡتَيۡقَنَتۡهَآ
though were convinced with them (signs)
أَنفُسُهُمۡ
themselves
ظُلۡمًا
(out of) injustice
وَعُلُوًّا‌ۚ
and haughtiness
فَٱنظُرۡ
So see
كَيۡفَ
how
كَانَ
was
عَـٰقِبَةُ
(the) end
ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ
(of) the corrupters
١٤
And they rejected them, while their [inner] selves were convinced thereof, out of injustice and haughtiness. So see how was the end of the corrupters.
27:15
وَلَقَدۡ
And verily
ءَاتَيۡنَا
We gave
دَاوُۥدَ
Dawood
وَسُلَيۡمَـٰنَ
and Sulaiman
عِلۡمًا‌ۖ
knowledge
وَقَالَا
and they said
ٱلۡحَمۡدُ
Praise be
لِلَّهِ
to Allah
ٱلَّذِى
the One Who
فَضَّلَنَا
has favored us
عَلَىٰ
over
كَثِيرٍ
many
مِّنۡ
of
عِبَادِهِ
His servants
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
the believers
١٥
And We had certainly given to David and Solomon knowledge, and they said, "Praise [is due] to Allāh, who has favored us over many of His believing servants."
27:16
وَوَرِثَ
And inherited
سُلَيۡمَـٰنُ
Sulaiman
دَاوُۥدَ‌ۖ
Dawood
وَقَالَ
And he said
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
O
ٱلنَّاسُ
people
عُلِّمۡنَا
We have been taught
مَنطِقَ
(the) language
ٱلطَّيۡرِ
(of) the birds
وَأُوتِينَا
and we have been given
مِن
from
كُلِّ
every
شَىۡءٍ‌ۖ
thing
إِنَّ
Indeed
هَـٰذَا
this
لَهُوَ
surely, it
ٱلۡفَضۡلُ
(is) the favor
ٱلۡمُبِينُ
evident
١٦
And Solomon inherited David. He said, "O people, we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given from all things. Indeed, this is evident bounty."
27:17
وَحُشِرَ
And were gathered
لِسُلَيۡمَـٰنَ
for Sulaiman
جُنُودُهُۥ
his hosts
مِنَ
of
ٱلۡجِنِّ
jinn
وَٱلۡإِنسِ
and the men
وَٱلطَّيۡرِ
and the birds
فَهُمۡ
and they
يُوزَعُونَ
(were) set in rows
١٧
And gathered for Solomon were his soldiers of the jinn and men and birds, and they were [marching] in rows
27:18
حَتَّىٰٓ
Until
إِذَآ
when
أَتَوۡاۡ
they came
عَلَىٰ
to
وَادِ
(the) valley
ٱلنَّمۡلِ
(of) the ants
قَالَتۡ
said
نَمۡلَةٌ
an ant
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
O
ٱلنَّمۡلُ
ants
ٱدۡخُلُواۡ
Enter
مَسَـٰكِنَكُمۡ
your dwellings
لَا
lest not crush you
يَحۡطِمَنَّكُمۡ
lest not crush you
سُلَيۡمَـٰنُ
Sulaiman
وَجُنُودُهُۥ
and his hosts
وَهُمۡ
while they
لَا
(do) not perceive
يَشۡعُرُونَ
(do) not perceive
١٨
Until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, an ant said, "O ants, enter your dwellings that you not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not."
27:19
فَتَبَسَّمَ
So he smiled
ضَاحِكًا
laughing
مِّن
at
قَوۡلِهَا
her speech
وَقَالَ
and said
رَبِّ
My Lord
أَوۡزِعۡنِىٓ
Grant me (the) power
أَنۡ
that
أَشۡكُرَ
I may thank You
نِعۡمَتَكَ
(for) Your Favor
ٱلَّتِىٓ
which
أَنۡعَمۡتَ
You have bestowed
عَلَىَّ
on me
وَعَلَىٰ
and on
وٰلِدَىَّ
my parents
وَأَنۡ
and that
أَعۡمَلَ
I may do
صَـٰلِحًا
righteous (deeds)
تَرۡضَـٰهُ
that will please You
وَأَدۡخِلۡنِى
And admit me
بِرَحۡمَتِكَ
by Your Mercy
فِى
among
عِبَادِكَ
Your slaves
ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
righteous
١٩
So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech, and said, "My Lord, enable me1 to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants."2
27:20
وَتَفَقَّدَ
And he inspected
ٱلطَّيۡرَ
the birds
فَقَالَ
and said
مَا
Why
لِىَ
Why
لَآ
not
أَرَى
I see
ٱلۡهُدۡهُدَ
the hoopoe
أَمۡ
or
كَانَ
is he
مِنَ
from
ٱلۡغَآئِبِينَ
the absent
٢٠
And he took attendance of the birds and said, "Why do I not see the hoopoe - or is he among the absent?
27:21
لَأُعَذِّبَنَّهُۥ
I will surely punish him
عَذَابًا
(with) a punishment
شَدِيدًا
severe
أَوۡ
or
لَأَاۡذۡبَحَنَّهُۥٓ
I will surely slaughter him
أَوۡ
unless
لَيَأۡتِيَنِّى
he brings me
بِسُلۡطَـٰنٍ
a reason
مُّبِينٍ
clear
٢١
I will surely punish him with a severe punishment or slaughter him unless he brings me clear authorization."1
27:22
فَمَكَثَ
So he stayed
غَيۡرَ
not
بَعِيدٍ
long
فَقَالَ
and he said
أَحَطتُ
I have encompassed
بِمَا
that which
لَمۡ
not
تُحِطۡ
you have encompassed
بِهِۦ
it
وَجِئۡتُكَ
and I have come to you
مِن
from
سَبَإِۭ
Saba
بِنَبَإٍ
with news
يَقِينٍ
certain
٢٢
But he [i.e., the hoopoe] stayed not long and said, "I have encompassed [in knowledge] that which you have not encompassed, and I have come to you from Sheba with certain news.
27:23
إِنِّى
Indeed, I
وَجَدتُّ
found
ٱمۡرَأَةً
a woman
تَمۡلِكُهُمۡ
ruling them
وَأُوتِيَتۡ
and she has been given
مِن
of
كُلِّ
every
شَىۡءٍ
thing
وَلَهَا
and for her
عَرۡشٌ
(is) a throne
عَظِيمٌ
great
٢٣
Indeed, I found [there] a woman ruling them, and she has been given of all things, and she has a great throne.
27:24
وَجَدتُّهَا
And I found her
وَقَوۡمَهَا
and her people
يَسۡجُدُونَ
prostrating
لِلشَّمۡسِ
to the sun
مِن
instead of Allah
دُونِ
instead of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
instead of Allah
وَزَيَّنَ
and has made fair-seeming
لَهُمُ
to them
ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنُ
the Shaitaan
أَعۡمَـٰلَهُمۡ
their deeds
فَصَدَّهُمۡ
and averted them
عَنِ
from
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
the Way
فَهُمۡ
so they
لَا
(are) not
يَهۡتَدُونَ
guided
٢٤
I found her and her people prostrating to the sun instead of Allāh, and Satan has made their deeds pleasing to them and averted them from [His] way, so they are not guided,
27:25
أَلَّا
That not
يَسۡجُدُواۡ
they prostrate
لِلَّهِ
to Allah
ٱلَّذِى
the One Who
يُخۡرِجُ
brings forth
ٱلۡخَبۡءَ
the hidden
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
and the earth
وَيَعۡلَمُ
and knows
مَا
what
تُخۡفُونَ
you conceal
وَمَا
and what
تُعۡلِنُونَ
you declare
٢٥
[And] so they do not prostrate to Allāh, who brings forth what is hidden within the heavens and the earth and knows what you conceal and what you declare -
27:26
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
لَآ
(there is) no
إِلَـٰهَ
god
إِلَّا
but

He

(the) Lord
ٱلۡعَرۡشِ
(of) the Throne
ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
the Great
۩
Allāh - there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Great Throne."
27:27
۞قَالَ
He said
سَنَنظُرُ
We will see
أَصَدَقۡتَ
whether you speak (the) truth
أَمۡ
or

of
ٱلۡكَـٰذِبِينَ
the liars
٢٧
[Solomon] said, "We will see whether you were truthful or were of the liars.
27:28
ٱذۡهَب

بِّكِتَـٰبِى
with my letter
هَـٰذَا
this
فَأَلۡقِهۡ
and deliver it
إِلَيۡهِمۡ
to them
ثُمَّ
Then
تَوَلَّ
turn away
عَنۡهُمۡ
from them
فَٱنظُرۡ
and see
مَاذَا
what
يَرۡجِعُونَ
they return
٢٨
Take this letter of mine and deliver it to them. Then leave them and see what [answer] they will return."
27:29
قَالَتۡ
She said
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
O
ٱلۡمَلَؤُاۡ
chiefs
إِنِّىٓ
Indeed [I]
أُلۡقِىَ
is delivered
إِلَىَّ
to me
كِتَـٰبٌ
a letter
كَرِيمٌ
noble
٢٩
She said, "O eminent ones, indeed, to me has been delivered a noble letter.
27:30
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, it
مِن
(is) from
سُلَيۡمَـٰنَ
Sulaiman
وَإِنَّهُۥ
and indeed it (is)
بِسۡمِ
In the name
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ
the Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمِ
the Most Merciful
٣٠
Indeed, it is from Solomon, and indeed, it is [i.e., reads]: 'In the name of Allāh, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful,
27:31
أَلَّا
That not
تَعۡلُواۡ
exalt yourselves
عَلَىَّ
against me
وَأۡتُونِى
but come to me
مُسۡلِمِينَ
(in) submission
٣١
Be not haughty with me but come to me in submission [as Muslims].'"
27:32
قَالَتۡ
She said
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
O
ٱلۡمَلَؤُاۡ
chiefs
أَفۡتُونِى
Advise me
فِىٓ
in
أَمۡرِى
my affair
مَا
Not
كُنتُ
I would be
قَاطِعَةً
the one to decide
أَمۡرًا
any matter
حَتَّىٰ
until
تَشۡهَدُونِ
you are present with me
٣٢
She said, "O eminent ones, advise me in my affair. I would not decide a matter until you witness [for] me."1
27:33
قَالُواۡ
They said
نَحۡنُ
We
أُوۡلُواۡ
(are) possessors
قُوَّةٍ
(of) strength
وَأُوۡلُواۡ
and possessors
بَأۡسٍ
(of) might
شَدِيدٍ
great
وَٱلۡأَمۡرُ
and the command
إِلَيۡكِ
(is) up to you
فَٱنظُرِى
so look
مَاذَا
what
تَأۡمُرِينَ
you will command
٣٣
They said, "We are men of strength and of great military might, but the command is yours, so see what you will command."
27:34
قَالَتۡ
She said
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلۡمُلُوكَ
the kings
إِذَا
when
دَخَلُواۡ
they enter
قَرۡيَةً
a town
أَفۡسَدُوهَا
they ruin it
وَجَعَلُوٓاۡ
and make
أَعِزَّةَ
(the) most honorable
أَهۡلِهَآ
(of) its people
أَذِلَّةً‌ۖ
(the) lowest
وَكَذٰلِكَ
And thus
يَفۡعَلُونَ
they do
٣٤
She said, "Indeed kings - when they enter a city, they ruin it and render the honored of its people humbled. And thus do they do.
27:35
وَإِنِّى
But indeed, I am
مُرۡسِلَةٌ
going to send
إِلَيۡهِم
to them
بِهَدِيَّةٍ
a gift
فَنَاظِرَةُۢ
and see
بِمَ
with what
يَرۡجِعُ
return
ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ
the messengers
٣٥
But indeed, I will send to them a gift and see with what [reply] the messengers will return."
27:36
فَلَمَّا
So when
جَآءَ
came
سُلَيۡمَـٰنَ
(to) Sulaiman
قَالَ
he said
أَتُمِدُّونَنِ
Will you provide me
بِمَالٍ
with wealth
فَمَآ
But what
ءَاتَـٰنِۦَ
Allah has given me
ٱللَّهُ
Allah has given me
خَيۡرٌ
(is) better
مِّمَّآ
than what
ءَاتَـٰكُم
He has given you
بَلۡ
Nay
أَنتُم
you
بِهَدِيَّتِكُمۡ
in your gift
تَفۡرَحُونَ
rejoice
٣٦
So when they came to Solomon, he said, "Do you provide me with wealth? But what Allāh has given me is better than what He has given you. Rather, it is you who rejoice in your gift.
27:37
ٱرۡجِعۡ
Return
إِلَيۡهِمۡ
to them
فَلَنَأۡتِيَنَّهُم
surely, we will come to them
بِجُنُودٍ
with hosts
لَّا
not
قِبَلَ
(is) resistance
لَهُم
for them
بِهَا
of it
وَلَنُخۡرِجَنَّهُم
and surely, we will drive them out
مِّنۡهَآ
from there
أَذِلَّةً
(in) humiliation
وَهُمۡ
and they
صَـٰغِرُونَ
(will be) abased
٣٧
Return to them, for we will surely come to them with soldiers that they will be powerless to encounter, and we will surely expel them therefrom in humiliation, and they will be debased."
27:38
قَالَ
He said
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
O
ٱلۡمَلَؤُاۡ
chiefs
أَيُّكُمۡ
Which of you
يَأۡتِينِى
will bring me
بِعَرۡشِهَا
her throne
قَبۡلَ
before
أَن
that
يَأۡتُونِى
they come to me
مُسۡلِمِينَ
(in) submission
٣٨
[Solomon] said, "O assembly [of jinn], which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?"
27:39
قَالَ
Said
عِفۡرِيتٌ
a strong one
مِّنَ
of
ٱلۡجِنِّ
the jinn
أَنَاۡ
I
ءَاتِيكَ
will bring it to you
بِهِۦ
will bring it to you
قَبۡلَ
before
أَن
[that]
تَقُومَ
you rise
مِن
from
مَّقَامِكَ‌ۖ
your place
وَإِنِّى
And indeed, I am
عَلَيۡهِ
for it
لَقَوِىٌّ
surely, strong
أَمِينٌ
trustworthy
٣٩
A powerful one from among the jinn said, "I will bring it to you before you rise from your place, and indeed, I am for this [task] strong and trustworthy."
27:40
قَالَ
Said
ٱلَّذِى
one who
عِندَهُۥ
with him
عِلۡمٌ
(was) knowledge
مِّنَ
of
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ
the Scripture
أَنَاۡ
I
ءَاتِيكَ
will bring it to you
بِهِۦ
will bring it to you
قَبۡلَ
before
أَن
[that]
يَرۡتَدَّ
returns
إِلَيۡكَ
to you
طَرۡفُكَ‌ۚ
your glance
فَلَمَّا
Then when
رَءَاهُ
he saw it
مُسۡتَقِرًّا
placed
عِندَهُۥ
before him
قَالَ
he said
هَـٰذَا
This
مِن
(is) from
فَضۡلِ
(the) Favor
رَبِّى
(of) my Lord
لِيَبۡلُوَنِىٓ
to test me
ءَأَشۡكُرُ
whether I am grateful
أَمۡ
or
أَكۡفُرُ‌ۖ
I am ungrateful
وَمَن
And whoever
شَكَرَ
(is) grateful
فَإِنَّمَا
then only
يَشۡكُرُ
he is grateful
لِنَفۡسِهِۦ‌ۖ
for his own soul
وَمَن
And whoever
كَفَرَ
(is) ungrateful
فَإِنَّ
then indeed
رَبِّى
my Lord
غَنِىٌّ
(is) Self-sufficient
كَرِيمٌ
Noble
٤٠
Said one who had knowledge from the Scripture, "I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you." And when [Solomon] saw it placed before him, he said, "This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful - his gratitude is only for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever is ungrateful - then indeed, my Lord is Free of need and Generous."
27:41
قَالَ
He said
نَكِّرُواۡ
Disguise
لَهَا
for her
عَرۡشَهَا
her throne
نَنظُرۡ
we will see
أَتَهۡتَدِىٓ
whether she will be guided
أَمۡ
or
تَكُونُ
will be
مِنَ
of
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
لَا
are not guided
يَهۡتَدُونَ
are not guided
٤١
He said, "Disguise for her her throne; we will see whether she will be guided [to truth] or will be of those who is not guided."
27:42
فَلَمَّا
So when
جَآءَتۡ
she came
قِيلَ
it was said
أَهَـٰكَذَا
Is like this
عَرۡشُكِ‌ۖ
your throne
قَالَتۡ
She said
كَأَنَّهُۥ
It is like
هُوَ‌ۚ
it
وَأُوتِينَا
And we were given
ٱلۡعِلۡمَ
the knowledge
مِن
before her
قَبۡلِهَا
before her
وَكُنَّا
and we have been
مُسۡلِمِينَ
Muslims
٤٢
So when she arrived, it was said [to her], "Is your throne like this?" She said, "[It is] as though it was it." [Solomon said], "And we were given knowledge before her, and we have been Muslims [in submission to Allāh].
27:43
وَصَدَّهَا
And has averted her
مَا
what
كَانَت
she used (to)
تَّعۡبُدُ
worship
مِن
besides
دُونِ
besides
ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ
Allah
إِنَّهَا
Indeed, she
كَانَتۡ
was
مِن
from
قَوۡمٍ
a people
كَـٰفِرِينَ
who disbelieve
٤٣
And that which she was worshipping other than Allāh had averted her [from submission to Him]. Indeed, she was from a disbelieving people."
27:44
قِيلَ
It was said
لَهَا
to her
ٱدۡخُلِى
Enter
ٱلصَّرۡحَ‌ۖ
the palace
فَلَمَّا
Then when
رَأَتۡهُ
she saw it
حَسِبَتۡهُ
she thought it
لُجَّةً
(was) a pool
وَكَشَفَتۡ
and she uncovered
عَن
[on]
سَاقَيۡهَا‌ۚ
her shins
قَالَ
He said
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, it
صَرۡحٌ
(is) a palace
مُّمَرَّدٌ
made smooth
مِّن
of
قَوَارِيرَ‌ۗ
glass
قَالَتۡ
She said
رَبِّ
My Lord
إِنِّى
indeed, I
ظَلَمۡتُ
[I] have wronged
نَفۡسِى
myself
وَأَسۡلَمۡتُ
and I submit
مَعَ
with
سُلَيۡمَـٰنَ
Sulaiman
لِلَّهِ
to Allah
رَبِّ
(the) Lord
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
(of) the worlds
٤٤
She was told, "Enter the palace." But when she saw it, she thought it was a body of water1 and uncovered her shins [to wade through]. He said, "Indeed, it is a palace [whose floor is] made smooth with glass." She said, "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, and I submit with Solomon to Allāh, Lord of the worlds."
27:45
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
أَرۡسَلۡنَآ
We sent
إِلَىٰ
to
ثَمُودَ
Thamud
أَخَاهُمۡ
their brother
صَـٰلِحًا
Salih
أَنِ
that
ٱعۡبُدُواۡ
Worship
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
فَإِذَا
Then behold
هُمۡ
They
فَرِيقَانِ
(became) two parties
يَخۡتَصِمُونَ
quarreling
٤٥
And We had certainly sent to Thamūd their brother Ṣāliḥ, [saying], "Worship Allāh," and at once they were two parties conflicting.
27:46
قَالَ
He said
يَـٰقَوۡمِ
O my people
لِمَ
Why
تَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَ
(do) you seek to hasten
بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ
the evil
قَبۡلَ
before
ٱلۡحَسَنَةِ‌ۖ
the good
لَوۡلَا
Why not
تَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ
you ask forgiveness
ٱللَّهَ
(of) Allah
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
so that you may
تُرۡحَمُونَ
receive mercy
٤٦
He said, "O my people, why are you impatient for evil before [i.e., instead of] good?1 Why do you not seek forgiveness of Allāh that you may receive mercy?"
27:47
قَالُواۡ
They said
ٱطَّيَّرۡنَا
We consider you a bad omen
بِكَ
We consider you a bad omen
وَبِمَن
and those
مَّعَكَ‌ۚ
with you
قَالَ
He said
طَـٰٓئِرُكُمۡ
Your bad omen
عِندَ
(is) with
ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ
Allah
بَلۡ
Nay
أَنتُمۡ
you
قَوۡمٌ
(are) a people
تُفۡتَنُونَ
being tested
٤٧
They said, "We consider you a bad omen, you and those with you." He said, "Your omen [i.e., fate] is with Allāh. Rather, you are a people being tested."1
27:48
وَكَانَ
And were
فِى
in
ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ
the city
تِسۡعَةُ
nine
رَهۡطٍ
family heads
يُفۡسِدُونَ
they were spreading corruption
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the land
وَلَا
and not
يُصۡلِحُونَ
reforming
٤٨
And there were in the city nine family heads causing corruption in the land and not amending [its affairs].
27:49
قَالُواۡ
They said
تَقَاسَمُواۡ
Swear to each other
بِٱللَّهِ
by Allah
لَنُبَيِّتَنَّهُۥ
surely, we will attack him by night
وَأَهۡلَهُۥ
and his family
ثُمَّ
Then
لَنَقُولَنَّ
we will surely say
لِوَلِيِّهِۦ
to his heir
مَا
Not
شَهِدۡنَا
we witnessed
مَهۡلِكَ
(the) destruction
أَهۡلِهِۦ
(of) his family
وَإِنَّا
and indeed, we
لَصَـٰدِقُونَ
(are) surely truthful
٤٩
They said, "Take a mutual oath by Allāh that we will kill him by night, he and his family. Then we will say to his executor,1 'We did not witness the destruction of his family, and indeed, we are truthful.'"
27:50
وَمَكَرُواۡ
So they plotted
مَكۡرًا
a plot
وَمَكَرۡنَا
and We planned
مَكۡرًا
a plan
وَهُمۡ
while they
لَا
(did) not
يَشۡعُرُونَ
perceive
٥٠
And they planned a plan, and We planned a plan, while they perceived not.
27:51
فَٱنظُرۡ
Then see
كَيۡفَ
how
كَانَ
was
عَـٰقِبَةُ
(the) end
مَكۡرِهِمۡ
(of) their plot
أَنَّا
that We
دَمَّرۡنَـٰهُمۡ
destroyed them
وَقَوۡمَهُمۡ
and their people
أَجۡمَعِينَ
all
٥١
Then look how was the outcome of their plan - that We destroyed them and their people, all.
27:52
فَتِلۡكَ
So, these
بُيُوتُهُمۡ
(are) their houses
خَاوِيَةَۢ
ruined
بِمَا
because
ظَلَمُوٓاۡ‌ۗ
they wronged
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
ذٰلِكَ
that
لَأَيَةً
surely, is a sign
لِّقَوۡمٍ
for a people
يَعۡلَمُونَ
who know
٥٢
So those are their houses, desolate because of the wrong they had done. Indeed in that is a sign for people who know.
27:53
وَأَنجَيۡنَا
And We saved
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believed
وَكَانُواۡ
and used (to)
يَتَّقُونَ
fear (Allah)
٥٣
And We saved those who believed and used to fear Allāh.
27:54
وَلُوطًا
And Lut
إِذۡ
when
قَالَ
he said
لِقَوۡمِهِۦٓ
to his people
أَتَأۡتُونَ
Do you commit
ٱلۡفَـٰحِشَةَ
[the] immorality
وَأَنتُمۡ
while you
تُبۡصِرُونَ
see
٥٤
And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Do you commit immorality1 while you are seeing?2
27:55
أَئِنَّكُمۡ
Why do you
لَتَأۡتُونَ
approach
ٱلرِّجَالَ
the men
شَهۡوَةً
(with) lust
مِّن
instead of
دُونِ
instead of
ٱلنِّسَآءِ‌ۚ
the women
بَلۡ
Nay
أَنتُمۡ
you
قَوۡمٌ
(are) a people
تَجۡهَلُونَ
ignorant
٥٥
Do you indeed approach men with desire instead of women? Rather, you are a people behaving ignorantly."
