جزء 18
3 Surahs202 Versesجزء 18
23:1
قَدۡ
Indeed
أَفۡلَحَ
successful
(are) the believers
Certainly will the believers have succeeded:
23:2
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
هُمۡ
[they]
فِى
during
صَلَاتِهِمۡ
their prayers
خَـٰ شِعُو نَ
٢(are) humbly submissive
They who are during their prayer humbly intent
23:3
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
Those who
هُمۡ
[they]
عَنِ
from
the vain talk
مُعۡرِضُو نَ
٣turn away
And they who turn away from ill speech
23:4
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
Those who
هُمۡ
[they]
لِلزَّكَو ٰ ةِ
of purification works
فَـٰ عِلُو نَ
٤(are) doers
And they who are observant of zakāh
23:5
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
And those who
هُمۡ
[they]
لِفُرُوجِهِمۡ
of their modesty
حَـٰ فِظُو نَ
٥(are) guardians
And they who guard their private parts
23:6
إِلَّا
Except
عَلَىٰٓ
from
أَزۡوٰ جِهِمۡ
their spouses
أَوۡ
or
مَا
what
مَلَكَتۡ
possess
أَيۡمَـٰ نُهُمۡ
their right hands
فَإِنّ َهُمۡ
then indeed, they
غَيۡرُ
(are) not
مَلُومِي نَ
٦blameworthy
Except from their wives or those their right hands possess,1 for indeed, they will not be blamed -
23:7
فَمَنِ
Then whoever
seeks
وَرَا ٓءَ
beyond
ذٰ لِكَ
that
فَأُوۡ لَـٰٓ ئِكَ
then those
هُمُ
[they]
(are) the transgressors
But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors -
23:8
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
And those who
هُمۡ
[they]
لِأَمَـٰ نَـٰ تِهِمۡ
of their trusts
وَعَهۡدِهِمۡ
and their promise(s)
رٰ عُو نَ
٨(are) observers
And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive
23:9
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
And those who
هُمۡ
[they]
عَلَىٰ
over
صَلَوٰ تِهِمۡ
their prayers
يُحَافِظُو نَ
٩they guard
And they who carefully maintain their prayers -
23:10
أُوۡ لَـٰٓ ئِكَ
Those
هُمُ
[they]
(are) the inheritors
Those are the inheritors
23:11
ٱلَّذِينَ
Who
يَرِثُونَ
will inherit
the Paradise
هُمۡ
They
فِيهَا
therein
خَـٰ لِدُو نَ
١١(will) abide forever
Who will inherit al-Firdaus.1 They will abide therein eternally.
23:12
وَلَقَدۡ
And indeed
خَلَقۡ نَا
We created
the humankind
مِن
from
an essence
of
clay
And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay.
23:13
ثُمّ َ
Then
جَعَلۡنَـٰ هُ
We placed him
نُطۡ فَةً
(as) a semen-drop
in
قَرَارٍ
a resting place
firm
Then We placed him as a sperm-drop1 in a firm lodging [i.e., the womb].
23:14
ثُمّ َ
Then
خَلَقۡ نَا
We created
the semen-drop
عَلَقَةً
(into) a clinging substance
then We created
the clinging substance
مُضۡغَةً
(into) an embryonic lump
then We created
the embryonic lump
عِظَـٰ مًا
(into) bones
then We clothed
the bones
لَحۡمًا
(with) flesh
then
أَنش َأۡنَـٰ هُ
We produce it
خَلۡقًا
(as) a creation
ءَاخَرَۚ
another
فَتَبَارَكَ
So blessed is
Allah
أَحۡسَنُ
(the) Best
(of) the Creators
Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allāh, the best of creators.1
23:15
ثُمّ َ
Then
إِنّ َكُم
indeed, you
after
ذٰ لِكَ
that
لَمَيِّتُو نَ
١٥surely (will) die
Then indeed, after that you are to die.
23:16
ثُمّ َ
Then
إِنّ َكُمۡ
indeed, you
يَوۡمَ
(on the) Day
(of) the Resurrection
تُبۡ عَثُو نَ
١٦will be resurrected
Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected.
23:17
وَلَقَدۡ
And indeed
خَلَقۡ نَا
We (have) created
فَوۡقَكُمۡ
above you
سَبۡ عَ
seven
طَرَا ٓئِقَ
paths
وَمَا
and not
كُنّ َا
We are
عَنِ
of
the creation
غَـٰ فِلِي نَ
١٧unaware
And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware.
23:18
وَأَنز َلۡنَا
And We send down
مِنَ
from
the sky
مَا ٓءَۢ
water
in (due) measure
then We cause it to settle
فِى
in
the earth
وَإِنّ َا
And indeed, We
عَلَىٰ
on
ذَهَابِۭ
taking it away
taking it away
لَقَـٰ دِرُو نَ
١٨surely (are) Able
And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away.
23:19
فَأَنش َأۡنَا
Then We produced
لَكُم
for you
by it
جَنّ َـٰ تٍ
gardens
of date-palms
of date-palms
and grapevines
for you
فِيهَا
in it
فَوٰ كِهُ
(are) fruits
كَثِيرَةٌ
abundant
and from them
تَأۡكُلُو نَ
١٩you eat
And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat.
23:20
وَشَجَرَةً
And a tree
(that) springs forth
مِن
from
Mount Sinai
سَيۡنَا ٓءَ
Mount Sinai
تَنۢب ُتُ
(which) produces
بِٱ ل دُّهۡنِ
oil
وَصِبۡ غٍ
and a relish
for those who eat
And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food [i.e., olives] for those who eat.
23:21
وَإِنّ َ
And indeed
لَكُمۡ
for you
فِى
in
the cattle
لَعِبۡ رَةًۖ
surely, (is) a lesson
We give you drink
from what

And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat.
23:22
وَعَلَيۡهَا
And on them
وَعَلَى

[the] ships
تُحۡمَلُو نَ
٢٢you are carried
And upon them and on ships you are carried.
23:23
وَلَقَدۡ
And verily
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
نُوحًا
Nuh
إِلَىٰ
to
قَوۡمِهِۦ
his people
فَقَالَ
and he said
يَـٰ قَوۡمِ
O my people
Worship
Allah
مَا
not
لَكُم
for you
(is) any
إِلَـٰ هٍ
god
غَيۡرُهُۥٓۖ
other than Him
أَفَلَا
Then will not
تَتَّقُو نَ
٢٣you fear
And We had certainly sent Noah to his people, and he said, "O my people, worship Allāh; you have no deity other than Him; then will you not fear Him?"
23:24
فَقَالَ
But said
the chiefs
(of) those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieved
مِن
among
his people
مَا
This is not
هَـٰ ذَآ
This is not
إِلَّا
but
بَشَرٌ
a man

عَلَيۡكُمۡ
over you
وَلَوۡ
and if

Allah had willed
لَأَنز َلَ
surely He (would have) sent down
مَلَـٰٓ ئِكَةً
Angels
Not
سَمِعۡنَا
we heard
بِهَـٰ ذَا
of this
فِىٓ
from
ءَابَا ٓئِنَا
our forefathers
our forefathers
But the eminent among those who disbelieved from his people said, "This is not but a man like yourselves who wishes to take precedence over you; and if Allāh had willed [to send a messenger], He would have sent down angels. We have not heard of this among our forefathers.
23:25
إِنۡ
Not
هُوَ
he

a man
in him

so wait
بِهِۦ
concerning him
حَتَّىٰ
until

٢٥a time
He is not but a man possessed with madness, so wait concerning him for a time."
23:26
قَالَ
He said
رَبِّ
My Lord
Help me
بِمَا
because
كَذَّبُو نِ
٢٦they deny me
[Noah] said, "My Lord, support me because they have denied me."
23:27
فَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ
So We inspired
إِلَيۡهِ
to him
أَنِ
That
construct
the ship
بِأَعۡيُنِنَا
under Our eyes
وَوَحۡيِنَا
and Our inspiration
فَإِذَا
then when
جَا ٓءَ
comes
أَمۡرُنَا
Our Command
وَفَارَ
and gushes forth
the oven
فَٱ سۡلُكۡ
then put
فِيهَا
into it
مِن
of
every (kind)
(of) mates
two
وَأَهۡلَكَ
and your family
إِلَّا
except
مَن
those

عَلَيۡهِ
against whom
the Word
مِنۡهُمۡۖ
thereof
وَلَا
And (do) not
تُخَـٰ طِبۡ نِى
address Me
فِى
concerning
those who
ظَلَمُوٓاۡ ۖ
wronged
إِنّ َهُم
indeed, they
(are) the ones to be drowned
So We inspired to him, "Construct the ship under Our observation and Our inspiration, and when Our command comes and the oven overflows,1 put into it [i.e., the ship] from each [creature] two mates and your family, except him for whom the decree [of destruction] has proceeded. And do not address Me concerning those who have wronged; indeed, they are to be drowned.
23:28
فَإِذَا
And when
you (have) boarded
أَنت َ
you
وَمَن
and whoever

then say
Praise
لِلَّهِ
(be) to Allah
Who

(has) saved us
مِنَ
from
the people
the wrongdoers
And when you have boarded the ship, you and those with you, then say, 'Praise to Allāh who has saved us from the wrongdoing people.'
23:29
وَقُل
And say
رَّبِّ
My Lord
أَنز ِلۡنِى
cause me to land
مُنز َلاً
(at) a landing place
blessed
and You
خَيۡرُ
(are) the Best
(of) those who cause to land.'
And say, 'My Lord, let me land at a blessed landing place, and You are the best to accommodate [us].'"
23:30
إِنّ َ
Indeed

We are

Indeed in that are signs, and indeed, We are ever testing [Our servants].
23:31
ثُمّ َ
Then
أَنش َأۡنَا
We produced
مِنۢ
after them
after them
قَرۡنًا
a generation
ءَاخَرِي نَ
٣١another
Then We produced after them a generation of others.
23:32
فَأَرۡسَلۡنَا
And We sent
فِيهِمۡ
among them
رَسُولاً
a Messenger
from themselves
أَنِ
[that]
Worship

And We sent among them a messenger1 from themselves, [saying], "Worship Allāh; you have no deity other than Him; then will you not fear Him?"
23:33
وَقَالَ
And said
the chiefs
مِن
of
his people
who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieved
وَكَذَّبُواۡ
and denied
بِلِقَا ٓءِ
(the) meeting

وَأَتۡرَفۡنَـٰ هُمۡ
while We had given them luxury
فِى

you eat
مِنۡهُ
[from it]
وَيَشۡرَبُ
and he drinks
مِمّ َا
of what
تَشۡرَبُو نَ
٣٣you drink
And the eminent among his people who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter while We had given them luxury in the worldly life said, "This is not but a man like yourselves. He eats of that from which you eat and drinks of what you drink.
23:34
وَلَئِنۡ
And surely if
أَطَعۡتُم
you obey
a man
like you
إِنّ َكُمۡ
indeed, you
إِذًا
then
surely (will be) losers
And if you should obey a man like yourselves, indeed, you would then be losers.
23:35
أَيَعِدُكُمۡ
Does he promise you
أَنّ َكُمۡ
that you

when
مِتُّمۡ
you are dead

أَنّ َكُم
that you

Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones that you will be brought forth [once more]?
23:36
۞هَيۡهَاتَ
Far-(fetched)
هَيۡهَاتَ
far-(fetched)

٣٦you are promised
How far, how far, is that which you are promised.1
23:37

He is not but a man who has invented a lie about Allāh, and we will not believe him."
23:39
قَالَ
He said
رَبِّ
My Lord
Help me
بِمَا
because
كَذَّبُو نِ
٣٩they deny me
He said, "My Lord, support me because they have denied me."
23:40
قَالَ
He said
عَمّ َا
After a little while
قَلِيلٍ
After a little while
surely they will become
نَـٰ دِمِي نَ
٤٠regretful
[Allāh] said, "After a little, they will surely become regretful."
23:41
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ
So seized them
the awful cry
بِٱ لۡحَقِّ
in truth
فَجَعَلۡنَـٰ هُمۡ
and We made them
غُثَا ٓءًۚ
(as) rubbish of dead leaves
So away
with the people
the wrongdoers
So the shriek1 seized them in truth,2 and We made them as [plant] stubble. Then away with the wrongdoing people.
23:42
ثُمّ َ
Then
أَنش َأۡنَا
We produced
مِنۢ
after them
after them
قُرُونًا
a generation

Then We produced after them other generations.

٤٣they (can) delay (it)
No nation will precede its time [of termination], nor will they remain [thereafter].
23:44
ثُمّ َ
Then
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
رُسُلَنَا
Our Messengers
تَتۡرَاۖ
(in) succession
كُلَّ
Every time

Every time
جَا ٓءَ
came
أُمّ َةً
(to) a nation
its Messenger
كَذَّبُوهُۚ
they denied him
فَأَتۡبَعۡنَا
so We made (them) follow
بَعۡضَهُم
some of them
others
and We made them
أَحَادِيثَۚ
narrations
فَبُعۡدًا
So away
with a people
not
يُؤۡمِنُو نَ
٤٤they believe
Then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time there came to a nation its messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another [to destruction], and We made them narrations.1 So away with a people who do not believe.
23:45
ثُمّ َ
Then
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
مُوسَىٰ
Musa
وَأَخَاهُ
and his brother
هَـٰ رُونَ
Harun
بِـَٔـايَـٰ تِنَا
with Our Signs
وَسُلۡطَـٰ نٍ
and an authority
clear
Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and a clear authority1
23:46
إِلَىٰ
To
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firaun
وَمَلَإِيۡ هِۦ
and his chiefs
فَٱ سۡتَكۡبَرُواۡ
but they behaved arrogantly
وَكَانُواۡ
and they were
قَوۡمًا
a people
عَالِي نَ
٤٦haughty
To Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were arrogant and were a haughty people.
23:47
فَقَالُوٓ اۡ
Then they said
أَنُؤۡمِنُ
Shall we believe
لِبَشَرَيۡنِ
(in) two men
مِثۡلِنَا
like ourselves
وَقَوۡمُهُمَا
while their people
لَنَا
for us
عَـٰ بِدُو نَ
٤٧(are) slaves
They said, "Should we believe two men like ourselves while their people are for us in servitude?"
23:48
فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا
So they denied them
فَكَانُواۡ
and they became
مِنَ
of
those who were destroyed
So they denied them and were of those destroyed.
23:49
وَلَقَدۡ
And verily
ءَاتَيۡنَا
We gave
مُوسَى
Musa
the Scripture
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
so that they may
يَهۡتَدُو نَ
٤٩be guided
And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture that perhaps they1 would be guided.
23:50
وَجَعَلۡنَا
And We made
(the) son
مَرۡيَمَ
(of) Maryam
وَأُمّ َهُۥٓ
and his mother
ءَايَةً
a Sign
and We sheltered them
إِلَىٰ
to
رَبۡ وَةٍ
a high ground
of tranquility
قَرَارٍ
of tranquility
and water springs
And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign and sheltered them within a high ground having level [areas] and flowing water.
23:51
يَـٰٓ أَيُّهَا
O Messengers
O Messengers

And indeed this, your religion, is one religion,1 and I am your Lord, so fear Me."
23:53

But they [i.e., the people] divided their religion among them into portions [i.e., sects] - each faction, in what it has,1 rejoicing.
23:54
فَذَرۡهُمۡ
So leave them
فِى

So leave them in their confusion for a time.
23:55

Do they think
أَنّ َمَا

And they who give what they give while their hearts are fearful1 because they will be returning to their Lord -

who hasten

٦١(are) foremost
It is those who hasten to good deeds, and they outstrip [others] therein.
23:62

And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged.
23:63

But their hearts are covered with confusion over this, and they have [evil] deeds besides that [i.e., disbelief] which they are doing,
23:64

Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment,1 at once they are crying [to Allāh] for help.
23:65

My verses had already been recited to you, but you were turning back on your heels.

In arrogance regarding it,1 conversing by night, speaking evil.
23:68
أَفَلَمۡ
Then, do not

(to) their forefathers
Then have they not reflected over the word [i.e., the Qur’ān], or has there come to them that which had not come to their forefathers?
23:69
أَمۡ
Or
لَمۡ

يَعۡرِفُواۡ
they recognize
رَسُولَهُمۡ
their Messenger
فَهُمۡ
so they

٦٩(are) rejecting him
Or did they not know their Messenger, so they are toward him disacknowledging?
23:70
أَمۡ
Or
يَقُولُونَ
they say

he brought them
the truth

but most of them

to the truth
كَـٰ رِهُو نَ
٧٠(are) averse
Or do they say, "In him is madness"? Rather, he brought them the truth, but most of them, to the truth, are averse.
23:71
وَلَوِ
But if
(had) followed
the truth
أَهۡوَا ٓءَهُمۡ

بَلۡ
Nay
أَتَيۡنَـٰ هُم
We have brought them
their reminder
فَهُمۡ
but they
عَن
from
their reminder
(are) turning away
But if the Truth [i.e., Allāh] had followed their inclinations, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been ruined. Rather, We have brought them their message,1 but they, from their message, are turning away.
23:72
أَمۡ
Or

But the payment
رَبِّكَ

Or do you, [O Muḥammad], ask them for payment? But the reward of your Lord is best, and He is the best of providers.
23:73
وَإِنّ َكَ
And indeed, you
لَتَدۡ عُوهُمۡ
certainly call them

Straight
And indeed, you invite them to a straight path.
23:74
وَإِنّ َ
And indeed

But indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviating from the path.
23:75
۞وَلَوۡ
And if
رَحِمۡنَـٰ هُمۡ
We had mercy on them
وَكَشَفۡنَا
and We removed

of
(the) hardship
surely they would persist
فِى
in
طُغۡيَـٰ نِهِمۡ
their transgression
يَعۡمَهُو نَ
٧٥wandering blindly
And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly.
23:76
وَلَقَدۡ
And verily
أَخَذۡنَـٰ هُم
We seized them
with the punishment
فَمَا
but not
they submit
لِرَبِّهِمۡ

and not
يَتَضَرَّعُو نَ
٧٦they supplicate humbly
And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus]
23:77
حَتَّىٰٓ
Until

when

Until when We have opened before them a door of severe punishment, immediately they will be therein in despair.

إِنۡ
Not
هَـٰ ذَآ
this
إِلَّآ
(is) but
إِفۡكٌ
a lie
he invented it
وَأَعَانَهُۥ
and helped him
عَلَيۡهِ
at it
قَوۡمٌ
people
ءَاخَرُونَۖ
other
فَقَدۡ
But verily
جَا ٓءُو
they (have) produced
ظُلۡمًا
an injustice
and a lie
And those who disbelieve say, "This [Qur’ān] is not except a falsehood he invented, and another people assisted him in it." But they have committed an injustice and a lie.
25:5
وَقَالُوٓ اۡ
And they say
أَسَـٰ طِيرُ
Tales
(of) the former people
which he has had written
فَهِىَ
and they
تُمۡلَىٰ
are dictated
عَلَيۡهِ
to him
بُكۡرَةً
morning
and evening
And they say, "Legends of the former peoples which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon."
25:6
قُلۡ
Say
أَنز َلَهُ
Has sent it down
the One Who
يَعۡلَمُ
knows
the secret
فِى
in
the heavens
وَٱ لۡأَرۡضِۚ
and the earth
إِنّ َهُۥ
Indeed, He
كَانَ
is
غَفُورًا
Oft-Forgiving
Most Merciful
Say, [O Muḥammad], "It has been revealed by He who knows [every] secret within the heavens and the earth. Indeed, He is ever Forgiving and Merciful."
25:7
وَقَالُواۡ
And they say
مَالِ
Why does
هَـٰ ذَا
this
Messenger
يَأۡكُلُ
eat
[the] food
وَيَمۡشِى
and walk
فِى
in
the markets
لَوۡلَآ
Why not
أُنز ِلَ
is sent down
إِلَيۡهِ
to him
مَلَكٌ
an Angel
then he be
مَعَهُۥ
with him
نَذِيرًا
٧a warner
And they say, "What is this messenger that eats food and walks in the markets? Why was there not sent down to him an angel so he would be with him a warner?
25:8
أَوۡ
Or
يُلۡقَىٰٓ
is delivered
إِلَيۡهِ
to him
كَنز ٌ
a treasure
أَوۡ
or
تَكُونُ
is
لَهُۥ
for him
جَنّ َةٌ
a garden
he may eat
مِنۡهَاۚ
from it
وَقَالَ
And say
the wrongdoers
إِن
Not
you follow
إِلَّا
but
رَجُلاً
a man
bewitched
Or [why is not] a treasure presented to him [from heaven], or does he [not] have a garden from which he eats?" And the wrongdoers say, "You follow not but a man affected by magic."
25:9
ٱنظ ُرۡ
See
كَيۡفَ
how
ضَرَبُواۡ
they set forth
لَكَ
for you
the similitudes
فَضَلُّواۡ
but they have gone astray
فَلَا
so not
يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ
they are able (to find)
سَبِيلاً
٩a way
Look how they strike for you comparisons;1 but they have strayed, so they cannot [find] a way.
25:10
تَبَارَكَ
Blessed is He
Who
إِن
if
He willed
جَعَلَ
(could have) made
لَكَ
for you
خَيۡرًا
better
than
that
جَنّ َـٰ تٍ
gardens
flow
مِن
from
underneath it
the rivers
وَيَجۡ عَل
and He (could) make
لَّكَ
for you
قُصُورَۢا
١٠palaces
Blessed is He who, if He willed, could have made for you [something] better than that - gardens beneath which rivers flow - and could make for you palaces.
25:11
بَلۡ
Nay
كَذَّبُواۡ
they deny
بِٱ ل سَّاعَةِۖ
the Hour
وَأَعۡتَدۡ نَا
and We have prepared
لِمَن
for (those) who
deny
بِٱ ل سَّاعَةِ
the Hour
سَعِيرًا
١١a Blazing Fire
But they have denied the Hour, and We have prepared for those who deny the Hour a Blaze.
25:12
إِذَا
When
رَأَتۡهُم
it sees them
from
a place
far
they will hear
لَهَا
its
تَغَيُّظًا
raging
and roaring
When it [i.e., the Hellfire] sees them from a distant place, they will hear its fury and roaring.
25:13
وَإِذَآ
And when
أُلۡقُواۡ
they are thrown
مِنۡهَا
thereof
مَكَانًا
(in) a place
narrow
bound in chains
دَعَوۡاۡ
they will call
هُنَالِكَ
there
ثُبُورًا
١٣(for) destruction
And when they are thrown into a narrow place therein bound in chains, they will cry out thereupon for destruction.
25:14
لَّا
(Do) not
تَدۡ عُواۡ
call
this day
ثُبُورًا
(for) destruction
one
but call
ثُبُورًا
(for) destructions
many
[They will be told], "Do not cry this Day for one destruction but cry for much destruction."
25:15
قُلۡ
Say
أَذٰ لِكَ
Is that
خَيۡرٌ
better
أَمۡ
or
جَنّ َةُ
Garden
(of) Eternity
which
وُعِدَ
is promised
(to) the righteous
كَانَتۡ
It will be
لَهُمۡ
for them
جَزَا ٓءً
a reward
and destination
Say, "Is that better or the Garden of Eternity which is promised to the righteous? It will be for them a reward and destination.
25:16
لَّهُمۡ
For them
فِيهَا
therein
مَا
(is) whatever
يَشَا ٓءُونَ
they wish
خَـٰ لِدِينَۚ
they will abide forever
كَانَ
It is
عَلَىٰ
on
رَبِّكَ
your Lord
وَعۡدًا
a promise
requested
For them therein is whatever they wish, [while] abiding eternally. It is ever upon your Lord a promise [worthy to be] requested.1
25:17
وَيَوۡمَ
And (the) Day
يَحۡشُرُهُمۡ
He will gather them
وَمَا
and what
يَعۡبُدُونَ
they worship
مِن
besides Allah
besides Allah
besides Allah
فَيَقُولُ
and He will say
ءَأَنت ُمۡ
Did you
أَضۡلَلۡتُمۡ
[you] mislead
عِبَادِى
My slaves
هَـٰٓ ؤُلَا ٓءِ
these
أَمۡ
or
هُمۡ
they
ضَلُّواۡ
went astray
(from) the way
And [mention] the Day He will gather them and that which they worship besides Allāh and will say, "Did you mislead these, My servants, or did they [themselves] stray from the way?"
25:18
قَالُواۡ
They say
سُبۡ حَـٰ نَكَ
Glory be to You
مَا
Not
كَانَ
it was proper
يَنۢب َغِى
it was proper
لَنَآ
for us
أَن
that
we take
مِن
besides You
besides You
مِنۡ
any
أَوۡلِيَا ٓءَ
protectors
وَلَـٰ كِن
But
You gave them comforts
وَءَابَا ٓءَهُمۡ
and their forefathers
حَتَّىٰ
until
نَسُواۡ
they forgot
the Message
وَكَانُواۡ
and became
قَوۡمَۢا
a people
ruined
They will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for us to take besides You any allies [i.e., protectors]. But You provided comforts for them and their fathers until they forgot the message and became a people ruined."
25:19
فَقَدۡ
So verily
كَذَّبُوكُم
they deny you
in what
تَقُولُونَ
you say
فَمَا
so not
تَسۡتَطِيعُونَ
you are able
صَرۡفًا
(to) avert
and not
نَصۡرًاۚ
(to) help
And whoever
does wrong
among you
نُذِقۡ هُ
We will make him taste
عَذَابًا
a punishment
great
So they will deny you, [disbelievers], in what you say,1 and you cannot avert [punishment] or [find] help. And whoever commits injustice2 among you - We will make him taste a great punishment.
25:20
وَمَآ
And not
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
قَبۡ لَكَ
before you
مِنَ
any
Messengers
إِلَّآ
but
إِنّ َهُمۡ
indeed, they
لَيَأۡكُلُونَ
[surely] ate
food
وَيَمۡشُونَ
and walked
فِى
in
the markets
وَجَعَلۡنَا
And We have made
بَعۡضَكُمۡ
some of you
لِبَعۡضٍ
for others
a trial
أَتَصۡبِرُونَۗ
will you have patience
وَكَانَ
And is
رَبُّكَ
your Lord
بَصِيرًا
٢٠All-Seer
And We did not send before you, [O Muḥammad], any of the messengers except that they ate food and walked in the markets. And We have made some of you [people] as trial for others - will you have patience? And ever is your Lord, Seeing.
