Hizb 7

1 Surahs78 Versesالحزب 7
3:93
۞كُلُّ
All
ٱلطَّعَامِ
[the] food
كَانَ
was
حِلاًّ
lawful
لِّبَنِىٓ
for (the) Children
إِسۡرٰٓءِيلَ
(of) Israel
إِلَّا
except
مَا
what
حَرَّمَ
made unlawful
إِسۡرٰٓءِيلُ
Israel
عَلَىٰ
upon
نَفۡسِهِۦ
himself
مِن
from
قَبۡلِ
before
أَن
[that]
تُنَزَّلَ
(was) revealed
ٱلتَّوۡرَٮٰةُ‌ۗ
the Taurat
قُلۡ
Say
فَأۡتُواۡ
So bring
بِٱلتَّوۡرَٮٰةِ
the Taurat
فَٱتۡلُوهَآ
and recite it
إِن
if
كُنتُمۡ
you are
صَـٰدِقِينَ
truthful
٩٣
All food was lawful to the Children of Israel except what Israel [i.e., Jacob] had made unlawful to himself before the Torah was revealed. Say, [O Muḥammad], "So bring the Torah and recite it, if you should be truthful."
3:94
فَمَنِ
Then whoever
ٱفۡتَرَىٰ
fabricates
عَلَى
about
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
ٱلۡكَذِبَ
[the] lie
مِنۢ
from
بَعۡدِ
after
ذٰلِكَ
that
فَأُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
then those
هُمُ
they
ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
(are) the wrongdoers
٩٤
And whoever invents about Allāh untruth after that - then those are [truly] the wrongdoers.
3:95
قُلۡ
Say
صَدَقَ
(has) spoken the truth
ٱللَّهُ‌ۗ
Allah
فَٱتَّبِعُواۡ
then follow
مِلَّةَ
(the) religion
إِبۡرٰهِيمَ
(of) Ibrahim
حَنِيفًا
(the) upright
وَمَا
and not
كَانَ
he was
مِنَ
of
ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
the polytheists
٩٥
Say, "Allāh has told the truth. So follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of the polytheists."1
3:96
إِنَّ
Indeed
أَوَّلَ
(the) First
بَيۡتٍ
House
وُضِعَ
set up
لِلنَّاسِ
for the mankind
لَلَّذِى
(is) the one which
بِبَكَّةَ
(is) at Bakkah
مُبَارَكًا
blessed
وَهُدًى
and a guidance
لِّلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
for the worlds
٩٦
Indeed, the first House [of worship] established for mankind was that at Bakkah [i.e., Makkah] - blessed and a guidance for the worlds.
3:97
فِيهِ
In it
ءَايَـٰتُۢ
(are) signs
بَيِّنَـٰتٌ
clear
مَّقَامُ
standing place
إِبۡرٰهِيمَ‌ۖ
(of) Ibrahim
وَمَن
and whoever
دَخَلَهُۥ
enters it
كَانَ
is
ءَامِنًا‌ۗ
safe
وَلِلَّهِ
And (due) to Allah
عَلَى
upon
ٱلنَّاسِ
the mankind
حِجُّ
(is) pilgrimage
ٱلۡبَيۡتِ
(of) the House
مَنِ
(for one) who
ٱسۡتَطَاعَ
is able
إِلَيۡهِ
to [it]
سَبِيلاً‌ۚ
(find) a way
وَمَن
And whoever
كَفَرَ
disbelieved
فَإِنَّ
then indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
غَنِىٌّ
(is) free from need
عَنِ
of
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
the universe
٩٧
In it are clear signs [such as] the standing place of Abraham. And whoever enters it [i.e., the Ḥaram] shall be safe. And [due] to Allāh from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a way. But whoever disbelieves [i.e., refuses] - then indeed, Allāh is free from need of the worlds.1
3:98
قُلۡ
Say
يَـٰٓأَهۡلَ
O People
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ
(of) the Book
لِمَ
Why
تَكۡفُرُونَ
(do) you disbelieve
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِ
in (the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
وَٱللَّهُ
while Allah
شَهِيدٌ
(is) a Witness
عَلَىٰ
over
مَا
what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
you do
٩٨
Say, "O People of the Scripture, why do you disbelieve in the verses of Allāh while Allāh is Witness over what you do?"
3:99
قُلۡ
Say
يَـٰٓأَهۡلَ
O People
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ
(of) the Book
لِمَ
Why
تَصُدُّونَ
(do) you hinder
عَن
from
سَبِيلِ
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
مَنۡ
(those) who
ءَامَنَ
believe[d]
تَبۡغُونَهَا
seeking (to make) it
عِوَجًا
(seem) crooked
وَأَنتُمۡ
while you
شُهَدَآءُ‌ۗ
(are) witnesses
وَمَا
And not
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
بِغَـٰفِلٍ
(is) unaware
عَمَّا
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
you do
٩٩
Say, "O People of the Scripture, why do you avert from the way of Allāh those who believe, seeking to make it [seem] deviant, while you are witnesses [to the truth]? And Allāh is not unaware of what you do."
3:100
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
who
ءَامَنُوٓاۡ
believe[d]
إِن
If
تُطِيعُواۡ
you obey
فَرِيقًا
a group
مِّنَ
from
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
أُوتُواۡ
were given
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ
the Book
يَرُدُّوكُم
they will turn you back
بَعۡدَ
after
إِيمَـٰنِكُمۡ
your belief
كَـٰفِرِينَ
(as) disbelievers
١٠٠
O you who have believed, if you obey a party of those who were given the Scripture, they would turn you back, after your belief, [to being] unbelievers.
3:101
وَكَيۡفَ
And how (could)
تَكۡفُرُونَ
you disbelieve
وَأَنتُمۡ
while [you]
تُتۡلَىٰ
is recited
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
upon you
ءَايَـٰتُ
(the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
وَفِيكُمۡ
and among you
رَسُولُهُۥ‌ۗ
(is) His Messenger
وَمَن
And whoever
يَعۡتَصِم
holds firmly
بِٱللَّهِ
to Allah
فَقَدۡ
then surely
هُدِىَ
he is guided
إِلَىٰ
to
صِرٰطٍ
a path
مُّسۡتَقِيمٍ
straight
١٠١
And how could you disbelieve while to you are being recited the verses of Allāh and among you is His Messenger? And whoever holds firmly to Allāh1 has [indeed] been guided to a straight path.
3:102
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe[d]
ٱتَّقُواۡ
Fear
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
حَقَّ
(as is His) right
تُقَاتِهِۦ
(that) He (should) be feared
وَلَا
and (do) not
تَمُوتُنَّ
die
إِلَّا
except
وَأَنتُم
[while you]
مُّسۡلِمُونَ
(as) Muslims
١٠٢
O you who have believed, fear Allāh as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him].
3:103
وَٱعۡتَصِمُواۡ
And hold firmly
بِحَبۡلِ
to (the) rope
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
جَمِيعًا
all together
وَلَا
and (do) not
تَفَرَّقُواۡ‌ۚ
be divided
وَٱذۡكُرُواۡ
And remember
نِعۡمَتَ
(the) Favor
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
on you
إِذۡ
when
كُنتُمۡ
you were
أَعۡدَآءً
enemies
فَأَلَّفَ
then He made friendship
بَيۡنَ
between
قُلُوبِكُمۡ
your hearts
فَأَصۡبَحۡتُم
then you became
بِنِعۡمَتِهِۦٓ
by His Favor
إِخۡوٰنًا
brothers
وَكُنتُمۡ
And you were
عَلَىٰ
on
شَفَا
(the) brink
حُفۡرَةٍ
(of) pit
مِّنَ
of
ٱلنَّارِ
the Fire
فَأَنقَذَكُم
then He saved you
مِّنۡهَا‌ۗ
from it
كَذٰلِكَ
Thus
يُبَيِّنُ
makes clear
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
لَكُمۡ
for you
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ
His Verses
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
so that you may
تَهۡتَدُونَ
(be) guided
١٠٣
And hold firmly to the rope1 of Allāh all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allāh upon you - when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allāh make clear to you His verses that you may be guided.
3:104
وَلۡتَكُن
And let there be
مِّنكُمۡ
among you
أُمَّةٌ
[a] people
يَدۡعُونَ
inviting
إِلَى
to
ٱلۡخَيۡرِ
the good
وَيَأۡمُرُونَ
[and] enjoining
بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ
the right
وَيَنۡهَوۡنَ
and forbidding
عَنِ
from
ٱلۡمُنكَرِ‌ۚ
the wrong
وَأُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
and those
هُمُ
they
ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ
(are) the successful ones
١٠٤
And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong,1 and those will be the successful.
3:105
وَلَا
And (do) not
تَكُونُواۡ
be
كَٱلَّذِينَ
like those who
تَفَرَّقُواۡ
became divided
وَٱخۡتَلَفُواۡ
and differed
مِنۢ
from
بَعۡدِ
after
مَا
what
جَآءَهُمُ
came to them
ٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتُ‌ۚ
the clear proofs
وَأُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
And those
لَهُمۡ
for them
عَذَابٌ
(is) a punishment
عَظِيمٌ
great
١٠٥
And do not be like the ones who became divided and differed after the clear proofs had come to them. And those will have a great punishment
3:106
يَوۡمَ
(On the) Day
تَبۡيَضُّ
would become white
وُجُوهٌ
(some) faces
وَتَسۡوَدُّ
and would become black
وُجُوهٌ‌ۚ
(some) faces
فَأَمَّا
As for
ٱلَّذِينَ
those whose
ٱسۡوَدَّتۡ
turn black
وُجُوهُهُمۡ
[their] faces
أَكَفَرۡتُم
Did you disbelieve
بَعۡدَ
after
إِيمَـٰنِكُمۡ
your belief
فَذُوقُواۡ
Then taste
ٱلۡعَذَابَ
the punishment
بِمَا
for what
كُنتُمۡ
you used to
تَكۡفُرُونَ
disbelieve
١٠٦
On the Day [some] faces will turn white and [some] faces will turn black. As for those whose faces turn black, [to them it will be said], "Did you disbelieve [i.e., reject faith] after your belief? Then taste the punishment for what you used to reject."
3:107
وَأَمَّا
But as for
ٱلَّذِينَ
those whose
ٱبۡيَضَّتۡ
turn white
وُجُوهُهُمۡ
[their] faces
فَفِى
then (they will be) in
رَحۡمَةِ
(the) Mercy
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
هُمۡ
they
فِيهَا
in it
خَـٰلِدُونَ
(will) abide forever
١٠٧
But as for those whose faces turn white, [they will be] within the mercy of Allāh. They will abide therein eternally.
3:108
تِلۡكَ
These
ءَايَـٰتُ
(are the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
نَتۡلُوهَا
We recite them
عَلَيۡكَ
to you
بِٱلۡحَقِّ‌ۗ
in truth
وَمَا
And not
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
يُرِيدُ
wants
ظُلۡمًا
injustice
لِّلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
to the worlds
١٠٨
These are the verses of Allāh. We recite them to you, [O Muḥammad], in truth; and Allāh wants no injustice to the worlds [i.e., His creatures].
3:109
وَلِلَّهِ
And to Allah (belongs)
مَا
whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
the heavens
وَمَا
and whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۚ
the earth
وَإِلَى
And to
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
تُرۡجَعُ
will be returned
ٱلۡأُمُورُ
the matters
١٠٩
To Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And to Allāh will [all] matters be returned.
3:110
كُنتُمۡ
You are
خَيۡرَ
(the) best
أُمَّةٍ
(of) people
أُخۡرِجَتۡ
raised
لِلنَّاسِ
for the mankind
تَأۡمُرُونَ
enjoining
بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ
the right
وَتَنۡهَوۡنَ
and forbidding
عَنِ
[from]
ٱلۡمُنكَرِ
the wrong
وَتُؤۡمِنُونَ
and believing
بِٱللَّهِ‌ۗ
in Allah
وَلَوۡ
And if
ءَامَنَ
believed
أَهۡلُ
(the) People
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ
(of) the Book
لَكَانَ
surely would have been
خَيۡرًا
good
لَّهُم‌ۚ
for them
مِّنۡهُمُ
Among them
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ
(are) [the] believers
وَأَكۡثَرُهُمُ
but most of them
ٱلۡفَـٰسِقُونَ
(are) defiantly disobedient
١١٠
You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allāh. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient.
3:111
لَن
Never
يَضُرُّوكُمۡ
will they harm you
إِلَّآ
except
أَذًى‌ۖ
a hurt
وَإِن
And if
يُقَـٰتِلُوكُمۡ
they fight you
يُوَلُّوكُمُ
they will turn (towards) you
ٱلۡأَدۡبَارَ
the backs
ثُمَّ
then
لَا
not
يُنصَرُونَ
they will be helped
١١١
They will not harm you except for [some] annoyance. And if they fight you, they will show you their backs [i.e., retreat]; then they will not be aided.
3:112
ضُرِبَتۡ
Struck
عَلَيۡهِمُ
on them
ٱلذِّلَّةُ
the humiliation
أَيۡنَ
wherever
مَا
that
ثُقِفُوٓاۡ
they are found
إِلَّا
except
بِحَبۡلٍ
with a rope
مِّنَ
from
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
وَحَبۡلٍ
and a rope
مِّنَ
from
ٱلنَّاسِ
the people
وَبَآءُو
And they incurred
بِغَضَبٍ
wrath
مِّنَ
from
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
وَضُرِبَتۡ
and struck
عَلَيۡهِمُ
on them
ٱلۡمَسۡكَنَةُ‌ۚ
the poverty
ذٰلِكَ
That
بِأَنَّهُمۡ
(is) because
كَانُواۡ
they used to
يَكۡفُرُونَ
disbelieve
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِ
in (the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
وَيَقۡتُلُونَ
and they killed
ٱلۡأَنۢبِيَآءَ
the Prophets
بِغَيۡرِ
without
حَقٍّ‌ۚ
right
ذٰلِكَ
That
بِمَا
(is) because
عَصَواۡ
they disobeyed
وَّكَانُواۡ
and they used to
يَعۡتَدُونَ
transgress
١١٢
They have been put under humiliation [by Allāh] wherever they are overtaken, except for a rope [i.e., covenant] from Allāh and a rope [i.e., treaty] from the people [i.e., the Muslims].1 And they have drawn upon themselves anger from Allāh and have been put under destitution. That is because they disbelieved in [i.e., rejected] the verses of Allāh and killed the prophets without right. That is because they disobeyed and [habitually] transgressed.
3:113
۞لَيۡسُواۡ
They are not
سَوَآءً‌ۗ
(the) same
مِّنۡ
among
أَهۡلِ
(the) People
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ
(of) the Book
أُمَّةٌ
(is) a community
قَآئِمَةٌ
standing
يَتۡلُونَ
(and) reciting
ءَايَـٰتِ
(the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
ءَانَآءَ
(in the) hours
ٱلَّيۡلِ
(of) the night
وَهُمۡ
and they
يَسۡجُدُونَ
prostrate
١١٣
They are not [all] the same; among the People of the Scripture is a community1 standing [in obedience], reciting the verses of Allāh during periods of the night and prostrating [in prayer].
3:114
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
They believe
بِٱللَّهِ
in Allah
وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ
and the Day
ٱلۡأَخِرِ
the Last
وَيَأۡمُرُونَ
and they enjoin
بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ
[with] the right
وَيَنۡهَوۡنَ
and forbid
عَنِ
[from]
ٱلۡمُنكَرِ
the wrong
وَيُسَـٰرِعُونَ
and they hasten
فِى
in
ٱلۡخَيۡرٰتِ
the good deeds
وَأُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
And those
مِنَ
(are) from
ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
the righteous
١١٤
They believe in Allāh and the Last Day, and they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and hasten to good deeds. And those are among the righteous.
3:115
وَمَا
And whatever
يَفۡعَلُواۡ
they do
مِنۡ
of
خَيۡرٍ
a good
فَلَن
then never
يُكۡفَرُوهُ‌ۗ
will they be denied it
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
عَلِيمُۢ
(is) All-Knowing
بِٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
of the God-fearing
١١٥
And whatever good they do - never will it be denied them. And Allāh is Knowing of the righteous.
3:116
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieved
لَن
never
تُغۡنِىَ
will avail
عَنۡهُمۡ
[for] them
أَمۡوٰلُهُمۡ
their wealth
وَلَآ
and not
أَوۡلَـٰدُهُم
their children
مِّنَ
against
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
شَيۡــًٔا‌ۖ
anything
وَأُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
and those
أَصۡحَـٰبُ
(are the) companions
ٱلنَّارِ‌ۚ
(of) the Fire
هُمۡ
they
فِيهَا
in it
خَـٰلِدُونَ
(will) abide forever
١١٦
Indeed, those who disbelieve - never will their wealth or their children avail them against Allāh at all, and those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.
3:117
مَثَلُ
Example
مَا
(of) what
يُنفِقُونَ
they spend
فِى
in
هَـٰذِهِ
this
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
[the] life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
(of) the world
كَمَثَلِ
(is) like (the) example
رِيحٍ
(of) a wind
فِيهَا
in it
صِرٌّ
(is) frost
أَصَابَتۡ
it struck
حَرۡثَ
(the) harvest
قَوۡمٍ
(of) a people
ظَلَمُوٓاۡ
who wronged
أَنفُسَهُمۡ
themselves
فَأَهۡلَكَتۡهُ‌ۚ
then destroyed it
وَمَا
And not
ظَلَمَهُمُ
(has) wronged them
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
وَلَـٰكِنۡ
[and] but
أَنفُسَهُمۡ
themselves
يَظۡلِمُونَ
they wronged
١١٧
The example of what they spend in this worldly life is like that of a wind containing frost which strikes the harvest of a people who have wronged themselves [i.e., sinned] and destroys it. And Allāh has not wronged them, but they wrong themselves.
3:118
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe[d]
لَا
(Do) not
تَتَّخِذُواۡ
take
بِطَانَةً
(as) intimates
مِّن
from
دُونِكُمۡ
other than yourselves
لَا
not
يَأۡلُونَكُمۡ
they will spare you
خَبَالاً
(any) ruin
وَدُّواۡ
They wish
مَا
what
عَنِتُّمۡ
distresses you
قَدۡ
Indeed
بَدَتِ
(has become) apparent
ٱلۡبَغۡضَآءُ
the hatred
مِنۡ
from
أَفۡوٰهِهِمۡ
their mouths
وَمَا
and what
تُخۡفِى
conceals
صُدُورُهُمۡ
their breasts
أَكۡبَرُ‌ۚ
(is) greater
قَدۡ
Certainly
بَيَّنَّا
We made clear
لَكُمُ
for you
ٱلۡأَيَـٰتِ‌ۖ
the Verses
إِن
if
كُنتُمۡ
you were
تَعۡقِلُونَ
(to use) reason
١١٨
O you who have believed, do not take as intimates those other than yourselves [i.e., believers], for they will not spare you [any] ruin. They wish you would have hardship. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater. We have certainly made clear to you the signs, if you will use reason.
3:119
هَـٰٓأَنتُمۡ
Lo! You are
أُوۡلَآءِ
those
تُحِبُّونَهُمۡ
you love them
وَلَا
but not
يُحِبُّونَكُمۡ
they love you
وَتُؤۡمِنُونَ
and you believe
بِٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ
in the Book
كُلِّهِۦ
all of it
وَإِذَا
And when
لَقُوكُمۡ
they meet you
قَالُوٓاۡ
they say
ءَامَنَّا
We believe
وَإِذَا
And when
خَلَوۡاۡ
they are alone
عَضُّواۡ
they bite
عَلَيۡكُمُ
at you
ٱلۡأَنَامِلَ
the finger tips
مِنَ
(out) of
ٱلۡغَيۡظِ‌ۚ
[the] rage
قُلۡ
Say
مُوتُواۡ
Die
بِغَيۡظِكُمۡ‌ۗ
in your rage
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
عَلِيمُۢ
(is) All-Knowing
بِذَاتِ
of what
ٱلصُّدُورِ
(is in) the breasts
١١٩
Here you are loving them but they are not loving you, while you believe in the Scripture - all of it.1 And when they meet you, they say, "We believe." But when they are alone, they bite their fingertips at you in rage. Say, "Die in your rage. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing of that within the breasts."
3:120
إِن
If
تَمۡسَسۡكُمۡ
touches you
حَسَنَةٌ
a good
تَسُؤۡهُمۡ
it grieves them
وَإِن
and if
تُصِبۡكُمۡ
strikes you
سَيِّئَةٌ
misfortune
يَفۡرَحُواۡ
they rejoice
بِهَا‌ۖ
at it
وَإِن
And if
تَصۡبِرُواۡ
you are patient
وَتَتَّقُواۡ
and fear (Allah)
لَا
not
يَضُرُّكُمۡ
will harm you
كَيۡدُهُمۡ
their plot
شَيۡــًٔا‌ۗ
(in) anything
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
بِمَا
of what
يَعۡمَلُونَ
they do
مُحِيطٌ
(is) All-Encompassing
١٢٠
If good touches you, it distresses them; but if harm strikes you, they rejoice at it. And if you are patient and fear Allāh, their plot will not harm you at all. Indeed, Allāh is encompassing of what they do.
3:121
وَإِذۡ
And when
غَدَوۡتَ
you left early morning
مِنۡ
from
أَهۡلِكَ
your household
تُبَوِّئُ
to post
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
the believers
مَقَـٰعِدَ
(to take) positions
لِلۡقِتَالِ‌ۗ
for the battle
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
سَمِيعٌ
(is) All-Hearing
عَلِيمٌ
All-Knowing
١٢١
And [remember] when you, [O Muḥammad], left your family in the morning to post the believers at their stations for the battle [of Uḥud] - and Allāh is Hearing and Knowing -
3:122
إِذۡ
When
هَمَّت
inclined
طَّآئِفَتَانِ
two parties
مِنكُمۡ
among you
أَن
that
تَفۡشَلَا
they lost heart
وَٱللَّهُ
but Allah
وَلِيُّهُمَا‌ۗ
(was) their protector
وَعَلَى
And on
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
فَلۡيَتَوَكَّلِ
let put (their) trust
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ
the believers
١٢٢
When two parties among you were about to lose courage, but Allāh was their ally; and upon Allāh the believers should rely.
3:123
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
نَصَرَكُمُ
helped you
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
بِبَدۡرٍ
in Badr
وَأَنتُمۡ
while you (were)
أَذِلَّةٌ‌ۖ
weak
فَٱتَّقُواۡ
So fear
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
so that you may
تَشۡكُرُونَ
(be) grateful
١٢٣
And already had Allāh given you victory at [the battle of] Badr while you were weak [i.e., few in number]. Then fear Allāh; perhaps you will be grateful.
3:124
إِذۡ
When
تَقُولُ
you said
لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
to the believers
أَلَن
Is it not
يَكۡفِيَكُمۡ
enough for you
أَن
that
يُمِدَّكُمۡ
reinforces you
رَبُّكُم
your Lord
بِثَلَـٰثَةِ
with three
ءَالَـٰفٍ
thousand[s]
مِّنَ
[of]
ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ
[the] Angels
مُنزَلِينَ
[the ones] sent down
١٢٤
[Remember] when you said to the believers, "Is it not sufficient for you that your Lord should reinforce you with three thousand angels sent down?
3:125
بَلَىٰٓ‌ۚ
Yes
إِن
if
تَصۡبِرُواۡ
you are patient
وَتَتَّقُواۡ
and fear (Allah)
وَيَأۡتُوكُم
and they come upon you
مِّن
[of]
فَوۡرِهِمۡ
suddenly
هَـٰذَا
[this]
يُمۡدِدۡكُمۡ
will reinforce you
رَبُّكُم
your Lord
بِخَمۡسَةِ
with five
ءَالَـٰفٍ
thousand[s]
مِّنَ
[of]
ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ
[the] Angels
مُسَوِّمِينَ
[the ones] having marks
١٢٥
Yes, if you remain patient and conscious of Allāh and they [i.e., the enemy] come upon you [attacking] in rage, your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand angels having marks [of distinction]."
3:126
وَمَا
And not
جَعَلَهُ
made it
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
إِلَّا
except
بُشۡرَىٰ
(as) good news
لَكُمۡ
for you
وَلِتَطۡمَئِنَّ
and to reassure
قُلُوبُكُم
your hearts
بِهِۦ‌ۗ
with it
وَمَا
And (there is) no
ٱلنَّصۡرُ
[the] victory
إِلَّا
except
مِنۡ
from
عِندِ
[near]
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
ٱلۡعَزِيزِ
the All-Mighty
ٱلۡحَكِيمِ
the All-Wise
١٢٦
And Allāh made it not except as [a sign of] good tidings for you and to reassure your hearts thereby. And victory is not except from Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise -
3:127
لِيَقۡطَعَ
That He may cut off
طَرَفًا
a part
مِّنَ
of
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُوٓاۡ
disbelieved
أَوۡ
or
يَكۡبِتَهُمۡ
suppress them
فَيَنقَلِبُواۡ
so (that) they turn back
خَآئِبِينَ
disappointed
١٢٧
That He might cut down a section of the disbelievers or suppress them so that they turn back disappointed.
3:128
لَيۡسَ
Not
لَكَ
for you
مِنَ
of
ٱلۡأَمۡرِ
the decision
شَىۡءٌ
(of) anything
أَوۡ
whether
يَتُوبَ
He turns
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
to them
أَوۡ
or
يُعَذِّبَهُمۡ
punishes them
فَإِنَّهُمۡ
for indeed, they
ظَـٰلِمُونَ
(are) wrongdoers
١٢٨
Not for you, [O Muḥammad, but for Allāh], is the decision whether He should [cut them down] or forgive them or punish them, for indeed, they are wrongdoers.
3:129
وَلِلَّهِ
And to Allah (belongs)
مَا
what
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
the heavens
وَمَا
and what
فِى
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۚ
the earth
يَغۡفِرُ
He forgives
لِمَن
[for] whom
يَشَآءُ
He wills
وَيُعَذِّبُ
and punishes
مَن
whom
يَشَآءُ‌ۚ
He wills
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
غَفُورٌ
(is) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٌ
Most Merciful
١٢٩
And to Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.
3:130
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
لَا
(Do) not
تَأۡكُلُواۡ
eat
ٱلرِّبَوٰٓاۡ
the usury
أَضۡعَـٰفًا
doubled
مُّضَـٰعَفَةً‌ۖ
multiplied
وَٱتَّقُواۡ
And fear
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
so that you may
تُفۡلِحُونَ
(be) successful
١٣٠
O you who have believed, do not consume usury, doubled and multiplied, but fear Allāh that you may be successful.
3:131
وَٱتَّقُواۡ
And fear
ٱلنَّارَ
the Fire
ٱلَّتِىٓ
which
أُعِدَّتۡ
is prepared
لِلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
for the disbelievers
١٣١
And fear the Fire, which has been prepared for the disbelievers.
3:132
وَأَطِيعُواۡ
And obey
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
وَٱلرَّسُولَ
and the Messenger
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
so that you may
تُرۡحَمُونَ
receive mercy
١٣٢
And obey Allāh and the Messenger that you may obtain mercy.
3:133
۞وَسَارِعُوٓاۡ
And hasten
إِلَىٰ
to
مَغۡفِرَةٍ
forgiveness
مِّن
from
رَّبِّكُمۡ
your Lord
وَجَنَّةٍ
and a Garden
عَرۡضُهَا
its width
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتُ
(is like that of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ
and the earth
أُعِدَّتۡ
prepared
لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ
for the pious
١٣٣
And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden [i.e., Paradise] as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous
3:134
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
يُنفِقُونَ
spend
فِى
in
ٱلسَّرَّآءِ
[the] ease
وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ
and (in) the hardship
وَٱلۡكَـٰظِمِينَ
and those who restrain
ٱلۡغَيۡظَ
the anger
وَٱلۡعَافِينَ
and those who pardon
عَنِ
[from]
ٱلنَّاسِ‌ۗ
the people
وَٱللَّهُ
and Allah
يُحِبُّ
loves
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
the good-doers
١٣٤
Who spend [in the cause of Allāh] during ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people - and Allāh loves the doers of good;
3:135
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those
إِذَا
when
فَعَلُواۡ
they did
فَـٰحِشَةً
immorality
أَوۡ
or
ظَلَمُوٓاۡ
wronged
أَنفُسَهُمۡ
themselves
ذَكَرُواۡ
they remember
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
فَٱسۡتَغۡفَرُواۡ
then ask forgiveness
لِذُنُوبِهِمۡ
for their sins
وَمَن
and who
يَغۡفِرُ
(can) forgive
ٱلذُّنُوبَ
the sins
إِلَّا
except
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
وَلَمۡ
And not
يُصِرُّواۡ
they persist
عَلَىٰ
on
مَا
what
فَعَلُواۡ
they did
وَهُمۡ
while they
يَعۡلَمُونَ
know
١٣٥
And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves [by transgression], remember Allāh and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who can forgive sins except Allāh? - and [who] do not persist in what they have done while they know.
3:136
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
Those
جَزَآؤُهُم
their reward
مَّغۡفِرَةٌ
(is) forgiveness
مِّن
from
رَّبِّهِمۡ
their Lord
وَجَنَّـٰتٌ
and Gardens
تَجۡرِى
flows
مِن
from
تَحۡتِهَا
underneath it
ٱلۡأَنۡهَـٰرُ
the rivers
خَـٰلِدِينَ
abiding forever
فِيهَا‌ۚ
in it
وَنِعۡمَ
And an excellent
أَجۡرُ
reward
ٱلۡعَـٰمِلِينَ
(for) the (righteous) workers
١٣٦
Those - their reward is forgiveness from their Lord and gardens beneath which rivers flow [in Paradise], wherein they will abide eternally; and excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers.
3:137
قَدۡ
Verily
خَلَتۡ
passed
مِن
from
قَبۡلِكُمۡ
before you
سُنَنٌ
situations
فَسِيرُواۡ
then travel
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
فَٱنظُرُواۡ
and see
كَيۡفَ
how
كَانَ
was
عَـٰقِبَةُ
(the) end
ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
(of) the deniers
١٣٧
Similar situations [as yours] have passed on before you, so proceed throughout the earth and observe how was the end of those who denied.
3:138
هَـٰذَا
This
بَيَانٌ
(is) a declaration
لِّلنَّاسِ
for the people
وَهُدًى
and guidance
وَمَوۡعِظَةٌ
and admonition
لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
for the God-fearing
١٣٨
This [Qur’ān] is a clear statement to [all] the people and a guidance and instruction for those conscious of Allāh.
3:139
وَلَا
And (do) not
تَهِنُواۡ
weaken
وَلَا
and (do) not
تَحۡزَنُواۡ
grieve
وَأَنتُمُ
and you (will be)
ٱلۡأَعۡلَوۡنَ
[the] superior
إِن
if
كُنتُم
you are
مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
believers
١٣٩
So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are [true] believers.
3:140
إِن
If
يَمۡسَسۡكُمۡ
touched you
قَرۡحٌ
a wound
فَقَدۡ
so certainly
مَسَّ
(has) touched
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
the people
قَرۡحٌ
wound
مِّثۡلُهُۥ‌ۚ
like it
وَتِلۡكَ
And this
ٱلۡأَيَّامُ
[the] days
نُدَاوِلُهَا
We alternate them
بَيۡنَ
among
ٱلنَّاسِ
the people
وَلِيَعۡلَمَ
[and] so that makes evident
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe[d]
وَيَتَّخِذَ
and take
مِنكُمۡ
from you
شُهَدَآءَ‌ۗ
martyrs
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
لَا
(does) not
يُحِبُّ
love
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
the wrongdoers
١٤٠
If a wound should touch you - there has already touched the [opposing] people a wound similar to it. And these days [of varying conditions] We alternate among the people so that Allāh may make evident those who believe and [may] take to Himself from among you martyrs - and Allāh does not like the wrongdoers -
3:141
وَلِيُمَحِّصَ
And so that may purify
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
وَيَمۡحَقَ
and destroy
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
the disbelievers
١٤١
And that Allāh may purify the believers [through trials] and destroy the disbelievers.
3:142
أَمۡ
Or
حَسِبۡتُمۡ
do you think
أَن
that
تَدۡخُلُواۡ
you will enter
ٱلۡجَنَّةَ
Paradise
وَلَمَّا
while has not yet
يَعۡلَمِ
made evident
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
جَـٰهَدُواۡ
strove hard
مِنكُمۡ
among you
وَيَعۡلَمَ
and made evident
ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
the steadfast
١٤٢
Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while Allāh has not yet made evident those of you who fight in His cause and made evident those who are steadfast?
3:143
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
كُنتُمۡ
you used to
تَمَنَّوۡنَ
wish
ٱلۡمَوۡتَ
(for) death
مِن
from
قَبۡلِ
before
أَن
[that]
تَلۡقَوۡهُ
you met it
فَقَدۡ
then indeed
رَأَيۡتُمُوهُ
you have seen it
وَأَنتُمۡ
while you (were)
تَنظُرُونَ
looking on
١٤٣
And you had certainly wished for death [i.e., martyrdom] before you encountered it, and you have [now] seen it [before you] while you were looking on.
3:144
وَمَا
And not
مُحَمَّدٌ
(is) Muhammad
إِلَّا
except
رَسُولٌ
a Messenger
قَدۡ
certainly
خَلَتۡ
passed away
مِن
from
قَبۡلِهِ
before him
ٱلرُّسُلُ‌ۚ
[the] (other) Messengers
أَفَإِيۡن
So if
مَّاتَ
he died
أَوۡ
or
قُتِلَ
is slain
ٱنقَلَبۡتُمۡ
will you turn back
عَلَىٰٓ
on
أَعۡقَـٰبِكُمۡ‌ۚ
your heels
وَمَن
And whoever
يَنقَلِبۡ
turns back
عَلَىٰ
on
عَقِبَيۡهِ
his heels
فَلَن
then never
يَضُرَّ
will he harm
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
شَيۡــًٔا‌ۗ
(in) anything
وَسَيَجۡزِى
And will reward
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
ٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَ
the grateful ones
١٤٤
Muḥammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels [to unbelief]? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allāh at all; but Allāh will reward the grateful.
3:145
وَمَا
And not
كَانَ
is
لِنَفۡسٍ
for a soul
أَن
that
تَمُوتَ
he dies
إِلَّا
except
بِإِذۡنِ
by (the) permission
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
كِتَـٰبًا
(at a) decree
مُّؤَجَّلاً‌ۗ
determined
وَمَن
And whoever
يُرِدۡ
desires
ثَوَابَ
reward
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
(of) the world
نُؤۡتِهِۦ
We will give him
مِنۡهَا
thereof
وَمَن
and whoever
يُرِدۡ
desires
ثَوَابَ
reward
ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ
(of) the Hereafter
نُؤۡتِهِۦ
We will give him
مِنۡهَا‌ۚ
thereof
وَسَنَجۡزِى
And We will reward
ٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَ
the grateful ones
١٤٥
And it is not [possible] for one to die except by permission of Allāh at a decree determined. And whoever desires the reward of this world - We will give him thereof; and whoever desires the reward of the Hereafter - We will give him thereof. And We will reward the grateful.
3:146
وَكَأَيِّن
And how many
مِّن
from
نَّبِىٍّ
a Prophet
قَـٰتَلَ
fought
مَعَهُۥ
with him
رِبِّيُّونَ
(were) religious scholars
كَثِيرٌ
many
فَمَا
But not
وَهَنُواۡ
they lost heart
لِمَآ
for what
أَصَابَهُمۡ
befell them
فِى
in
سَبِيلِ
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
وَمَا
and not
ضَعُفُواۡ
they weakened
وَمَا
and not
ٱسۡتَكَانُواۡ‌ۗ
they gave in
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
يُحِبُّ
loves
ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
the patient ones
١٤٦
And how many a prophet [fought in battle and] with him fought many religious scholars. But they never lost assurance due to what afflicted them in the cause of Allāh, nor did they weaken or submit. And Allāh loves the steadfast.
3:147
وَمَا
And not
كَانَ
were
قَوۡلَهُمۡ
their words
إِلَّآ
except
أَن
that
قَالُواۡ
they said
رَبَّنَا
Our Lord
ٱغۡفِرۡ
forgive
لَنَا
for us
ذُنُوبَنَا
our sins
وَإِسۡرَافَنَا
and our excesses
فِىٓ
in
أَمۡرِنَا
our affairs
وَثَبِّتۡ
and make firm
أَقۡدَامَنَا
our feet
وَٱنصُرۡنَا
and give us victory
عَلَى
over
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
[the people]
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
the disbelievers
١٤٧
And their words were not but that they said, "Our Lord, forgive us our sins and the excess [committed] in our affairs and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people."
3:148
فَـَٔـاتَـٰهُمُ
So gave them
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
ثَوَابَ
reward
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
(in) the world
وَحُسۡنَ
and good
ثَوَابِ
reward
ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ‌ۗ
(in) the Hereafter
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
يُحِبُّ
loves
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
the good-doers
١٤٨
So Allāh gave them the reward of this world and the good reward of the Hereafter. And Allāh loves the doers of good.
3:149
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
who
ءَامَنُوٓاۡ
believe
إِن
If
تُطِيعُواۡ
you obey
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
يَرُدُّوكُمۡ
they will turn you back
عَلَىٰٓ
on
أَعۡقَـٰبِكُمۡ
your heels
فَتَنقَلِبُواۡ
then you will turn back
خَـٰسِرِينَ
(as) losers
١٤٩
O you who have believed, if you obey those who disbelieve, they will turn you back on your heels, and you will [then] become losers.
3:150
بَلِ
Nay
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
مَوۡلَـٰكُمۡ‌ۖ

ٱلنَّـٰصِرِينَ
(of) the Helpers
١٥٠
But Allāh is your protector, and He is the best of helpers.
3:151
سَنُلۡقِى
We will cast
فِى
in
قُلُوبِ
(the) hearts
ٱلَّذِينَ
(of) those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
ٱلرُّعۡبَ
[the] terror
بِمَآ
because
أَشۡرَكُواۡ
they associated partners
بِٱللَّهِ
with Allah
مَا
what
لَمۡ
not
يُنَزِّلۡ
He sent down
بِهِۦ
about it
سُلۡطَـٰنًا‌ۖ
any authority

and their refuge
ٱلنَّارُ‌ۚ
(will be) the Fire
وَبِئۡسَ
and wretched
مَثۡوَى
(is the) abode
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
[of] the wrongdoers
١٥١
We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve for what they have associated with Allāh of which He had not sent down [any] authority.1 And their refuge will be the Fire, and wretched is the residence of the wrongdoers.
3:152
وَلَقَدۡ

And Allāh had certainly fulfilled His promise to you when you were killing them [i.e., the enemy] by His permission until [the time] when you lost courage and fell to disputing about the order [given by the Prophet (ﷺ)] and disobeyed after He had shown you that which you love.1 Among you are some who desire this world, and among you are some who desire the Hereafter. Then He turned you back from them [defeated] that He might test you. And He has already forgiven you, and Allāh is the possessor of bounty for the believers.
