Hizb 50

3 Surahs162 Versesالحزب 50
43:24
۞قَـٰلَ
He said
أَوَلَوۡ
Even if
جِئۡتُكُم
I brought you
بِأَهۡدَىٰ
better guidance
مِمَّا
than what
وَجَدتُّمۡ
you found
عَلَيۡهِ
on it
ءَابَآءَكُمۡ‌ۖ
your forefathers
قَالُوٓاۡ
They said
إِنَّا
Indeed, we
بِمَآ
with what
أُرۡسِلۡتُم
you are sent
بِهِۦ
with [it]
كَـٰفِرُونَ
(are) disbelievers
٢٤
[Each warner] said, "Even if I brought you better guidance than that [religion] upon which you found your fathers?" They said, "Indeed we, in that with which you were sent, are disbelievers."
43:25
فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا
So We took retribution
مِنۡهُمۡ‌ۖ
from them
فَٱنظُرۡ
Then see
كَيۡفَ
how
كَانَ
was
عَـٰقِبَةُ
(the) end
ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
(of) the deniers
٢٥
So We took retribution from them; then see how was the end of the deniers.
43:26
وَإِذۡ
And when
قَالَ
Ibrahim Said
إِبۡرٰهِيمُ
Ibrahim Said
لِأَبِيهِ
to his father
وَقَوۡمِهِۦٓ
and his people
إِنَّنِى
Indeed, I (am)
بَرَآءٌ
disassociated
مِّمَّا
from what
تَعۡبُدُونَ
you worship
٢٦
And [mention, O Muḥammad], when Abraham said to his father and his people, "Indeed, I am disassociated from that which you worship
43:27
إِلَّا
Except
ٱلَّذِى
the One Who
فَطَرَنِى
created me
فَإِنَّهُۥ
and indeed, He
سَيَهۡدِينِ
will guide me
٢٧
Except for He who created me; and indeed, He will guide me."
43:28
وَجَعَلَهَا
And he made it
كَلِمَةَۢ
a word
بَاقِيَةً
lasting
فِى
among
عَقِبِهِۦ
his descendents
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
so that they may
يَرۡجِعُونَ
return
٢٨
And he made it1 a word remaining among his descendants that they might return [to it].
43:29
بَلۡ
Nay
مَتَّعۡتُ
I gave enjoyment
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
(to) these
وَءَابَآءَهُمۡ
and their forefathers
حَتَّىٰ
until
جَآءَهُمُ
came to them
ٱلۡحَقُّ
the truth
وَرَسُولٌ
and a Messenger
مُّبِينٌ
clear
٢٩
However, I gave enjoyment to these [people of Makkah] and their fathers1 until there came to them the truth and a clear Messenger.2
43:30
وَلَمَّا
And when
جَآءَهُمُ
came to them
ٱلۡحَقُّ
the truth
قَالُواۡ
they said
هَـٰذَا
This
سِحۡرٌ
(is) magic
وَإِنَّا
and indeed, we
بِهِۦ
of it
كَـٰفِرُونَ
(are) disbelievers
٣٠
But when the truth came to them, they said, "This is magic, and indeed we are, concerning it, disbelievers."
43:31
وَقَالُواۡ
And they say
لَوۡلَا
Why not
نُزِّلَ
was sent down
هَـٰذَا
this
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ
the Quran
عَلَىٰ
to
رَجُلٍ
a man
مِّنَ
from
ٱلۡقَرۡيَتَيۡنِ
the two towns
عَظِيمٍ
great
٣١
And they said, "Why was this Qur’ān not sent down upon a great man from [one of] the two cities?"1
43:32
أَهُمۡ
Do they
يَقۡسِمُونَ
distribute
رَحۡمَتَ
(the) Mercy
رَبِّكَ‌ۚ
(of) your Lord
نَحۡنُ
We
قَسَمۡنَا
[We] distribute
بَيۡنَهُم
among them
مَّعِيشَتَهُمۡ
their livelihood
فِى
in
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا‌ۚ
(of) the world
وَرَفَعۡنَا
and We raise
بَعۡضَهُمۡ
some of them
فَوۡقَ
above
بَعۡضٍ
others
دَرَجَـٰتٍ
(in) degrees
لِّيَتَّخِذَ
so that may take
بَعۡضُهُم
some of them
بَعۡضًا
others
سُخۡرِيًّا‌ۗ
(for) service
وَرَحۡمَتُ
But (the) Mercy
رَبِّكَ
(of) your Lord
خَيۡرٌ
(is) better
مِّمَّا
than what
يَجۡمَعُونَ
they accumulate
٣٢
Do they distribute the mercy of your Lord? It is We who have apportioned among them their livelihood in the life of this world and have raised some of them above others in degrees [of rank] that they may make use of one another for service. But the mercy of your Lord is better than whatever they accumulate.
43:33
وَلَوۡلَآ
And if not
أَن
that
يَكُونَ
(would) become
ٱلنَّاسُ
[the] mankind
أُمَّةً
a community
وٰحِدَةً
one
لَّجَعَلۡنَا
We (would have) made
لِمَن
for (one) who
يَكۡفُرُ
disbelieves
بِٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ
in the Most Gracious
لِبُيُوتِهِمۡ
for their houses
سُقُفًا
roofs
مِّن
of
فِضَّةٍ
silver
وَمَعَارِجَ
and stairways
عَلَيۡهَا
upon which
يَظۡهَرُونَ
they mount
٣٣
And if it were not that the people would become one community [of disbelievers],1 We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Most Merciful - for their houses - ceilings and stairways of silver upon which to mount.
43:34
وَلِبُيُوتِهِمۡ
And for their houses
أَبۡوٰبًا
doors
وَسُرُرًا
and couches
عَلَيۡهَا
upon which
يَتَّكِــُٔونَ
they recline
٣٤
And for their houses - doors and couches [of silver] upon which to recline
43:35
وَزُخۡرُفًا‌ۚ
And ornaments of gold
وَإِن
And not (is)
كُلُّ
all
ذٰلِكَ
that
لَمَّا
but
مَتَـٰعُ
an enjoyment
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
(of) the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا‌ۚ
(of) the world
وَٱلۡأَخِرَةُ
And the Hereafter
عِندَ
with
رَبِّكَ
your Lord
لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ
(is) for the righteous
٣٥
And gold ornament. But all that is not but the enjoyment of worldly life. And the Hereafter with your Lord is for the righteous.
43:36
وَمَن
And whoever
يَعۡشُ
turns away
عَن
from
ذِكۡرِ
(the) remembrance
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ
(of) the Most Gracious
نُقَيِّضۡ
We appoint
لَهُۥ
for him
شَيۡطَـٰنًا
a devil
فَهُوَ
then he
لَهُۥ
(is) to him
قَرِينٌ
a companion
٣٦
And whoever is blinded from remembrance of the Most Merciful - We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion.
43:37
وَإِنَّهُمۡ
And indeed, they
لَيَصُدُّونَهُمۡ
surely, turn them
عَنِ
from
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
the Path
وَيَحۡسَبُونَ
and they think
أَنَّهُم
that they
مُّهۡتَدُونَ
(are) guided
٣٧
And indeed, they [i.e., the devils] avert them from the way [of guidance] while they think that they are [rightly] guided
43:38
حَتَّىٰٓ
Until
إِذَا
when
جَآءَنَا
he comes to Us
قَالَ
he says
يَـٰلَيۡتَ
O would that
بَيۡنِى
between me
وَبَيۡنَكَ
and between you
بُعۡدَ
(were the) distance
ٱلۡمَشۡرِقَيۡنِ
(of) the East and the West
فَبِئۡسَ
How wretched is
ٱلۡقَرِينُ
the companion
٣٨
Until, when he comes to Us [at Judgement], he says [to his companion], "How I wish there was between me and you the distance between the east and west; and what a wretched companion."
43:39
وَلَن
And never
يَنفَعَكُمُ
will benefit you
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
the Day
إِذ
when
ظَّلَمۡتُمۡ
you have wronged
أَنَّكُمۡ
that you
فِى
(will be) in
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
the punishment
مُشۡتَرِكُونَ
sharing
٣٩
And never will it benefit you that Day, when you have wronged, that you are [all] sharing in the punishment.
43:40
أَفَأَنتَ
Then can you
تُسۡمِعُ
cause to hear
ٱلصُّمَّ
the deaf
أَوۡ
or
تَهۡدِى
guide
ٱلۡعُمۡىَ
the blind
وَمَن
and (one) who
كَانَ
is
فِى
in
ضَلَـٰلٍ
an error
مُّبِينٍ
clear
٤٠
Then will you make the deaf hear, [O Muḥammad], or guide the blind or he who is in clear error?
43:41
فَإِمَّا
And whether
نَذۡهَبَنَّ
We take you away
بِكَ
We take you away
فَإِنَّا
then indeed, We
مِنۡهُم
from them
مُّنتَقِمُونَ
(will) take retribution
٤١
And whether [or not] We take you away [in death], indeed, We will take retribution upon them.
43:42
أَوۡ
Or
نُرِيَنَّكَ
We show you
ٱلَّذِى
that which
وَعَدۡنَـٰهُمۡ
We have promised them
فَإِنَّا
then indeed, We
عَلَيۡهِم
over them
مُّقۡتَدِرُونَ
have full power
٤٢
Or whether [or not] We show you that which We have promised them, indeed, We are Perfect in Ability.
43:43
فَٱسۡتَمۡسِكۡ
So hold fast
بِٱلَّذِىٓ
to that which
أُوحِىَ
is revealed
إِلَيۡكَ‌ۖ
to you
إِنَّكَ
Indeed, you
عَلَىٰ
(are) on
صِرٰطٍ
a Path
مُّسۡتَقِيمٍ
Straight
٤٣
So adhere to that which is revealed to you. Indeed, you are on a straight path.
43:44
وَإِنَّهُۥ
And indeed, it
لَذِكۡرٌ
(is) surely, a Reminder
لَّكَ
for you
وَلِقَوۡمِكَ‌ۖ
and your people
وَسَوۡفَ
and soon
تُسۡــَٔلُونَ
you will be questioned
٤٤
And indeed, it is a remembrance1 for you and your people, and you [all] are going to be questioned.
43:45
وَسۡــَٔلۡ
And ask
مَنۡ
(those) whom
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
مِن
before you
قَبۡلِكَ
before you
مِن
of
رُّسُلِنَآ
Our Messengers
أَجَعَلۡنَا
did We make
مِن
besides
دُونِ
besides
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ
the Most Gracious
ءَالِهَةً
gods
يُعۡبَدُونَ
to be worshipped
٤٥
And ask those We sent before you of Our messengers; have We made besides the Most Merciful deities to be worshipped?
43:46
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
مُوسَىٰ
Musa
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَآ
with Our Signs
إِلَىٰ
to
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firaun
وَمَلَإِيۡهِۦ
and his chiefs
فَقَالَ
and he said
إِنِّى
Indeed, I am
رَسُولُ
a Messenger
رَبِّ
(of the) Lord
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
(of) the worlds
٤٦
And certainly did We send Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, and he said, "Indeed, I am the messenger of the Lord of the worlds."
43:47
فَلَمَّا
But when
جَآءَهُم
he came to them
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَآ
with Our Signs
إِذَا
behold
هُم
They
مِّنۡهَا
at them
يَضۡحَكُونَ
laughed
٤٧
But when he brought them Our signs, at once they laughed at them.
43:48
وَمَا
And not
نُرِيهِم
We showed them
مِّنۡ
of
ءَايَةٍ
a Sign
إِلَّا
but
هِىَ
it
أَكۡبَرُ
(was) greater
مِنۡ
than
أُخۡتِهَا‌ۖ
its sister
وَأَخَذۡنَـٰهُم
and We seized them
بِٱلۡعَذَابِ
with the punishment
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
so that they may
يَرۡجِعُونَ
return
٤٨
And We showed them not a sign except that it was greater than its sister, and We seized them with affliction that perhaps they might return [to faith].
43:49
وَقَالُواۡ
And they said
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَ
O
ٱلسَّاحِرُ
[the] magician
ٱدۡعُ
Invoke
لَنَا
for us
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
بِمَا
by what
عَهِدَ
He has made covenant
عِندَكَ
with you
إِنَّنَا
Indeed, we
لَمُهۡتَدُونَ
(will) surely be guided
٤٩
And they said [to Moses], "O magician, invoke for us your Lord by what He has promised you. Indeed, we will be guided."
43:50
فَلَمَّا
But when
كَشَفۡنَا
We removed
عَنۡهُمُ
from them
ٱلۡعَذَابَ
the punishment
إِذَا
behold
هُمۡ
They
يَنكُثُونَ
broke (their word)
٥٠
But when We removed from them the affliction, at once they broke their word.
43:51
وَنَادَىٰ
And called out
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
Firaun
فِى
among
قَوۡمِهِۦ
his people
قَالَ
he said
يَـٰقَوۡمِ
O my people
أَلَيۡسَ
Is not
لِى
for me
مُلۡكُ
(the) kingdom
مِصۡرَ
(of) Egypt
وَهَـٰذِهِ
and these
ٱلۡأَنۡهَـٰرُ
[the] rivers
تَجۡرِى
flowing
مِن
underneath me
تَحۡتِىٓ‌ۖ
underneath me
أَفَلَا
Then do not
تُبۡصِرُونَ
you see
٥١
And Pharaoh called out among his people; he said, "O my people, does not the kingdom of Egypt belong to me, and these rivers flowing beneath me; then do you not see?
43:52
أَمۡ
Or
أَنَاۡ
am I
خَيۡرٌ
better
مِّنۡ
than
هَـٰذَا
this
ٱلَّذِى
one who
هُوَ
he
مَهِينٌ
(is) insignificant
وَلَا
and hardly
يَكَادُ
and hardly
يُبِينُ
clear
٥٢
Or am I [not] better than this one [i.e., Moses] who is insignificant and hardly makes himself clear?1
43:53
فَلَوۡلَآ
Then why not
أُلۡقِىَ
are placed
عَلَيۡهِ
on him
أَسۡوِرَةٌ
bracelets
مِّن
of
ذَهَبٍ
gold
أَوۡ
or
جَآءَ
come
مَعَهُ
with him
ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ
the Angels
مُقۡتَرِنِينَ
accompanying (him)
٥٣
Then why have there not been placed upon him bracelets of gold or come with him the angels in conjunction?"
43:54
فَٱسۡتَخَفَّ
So he bluffed
قَوۡمَهُۥ
his people
فَأَطَاعُوهُ‌ۚ
and they obeyed him
إِنَّهُمۡ
Indeed, they
كَانُواۡ
were
قَوۡمًا
a people
فَـٰسِقِينَ
defiantly disobedient
٥٤
So he bluffed his people, and they obeyed him. Indeed, they were [themselves] a people defiantly disobedient [of Allāh].
43:55
فَلَمَّآ
So when
ءَاسَفُونَا
they angered Us
ٱنتَقَمۡنَا
We took retribution
مِنۡهُمۡ
from them
فَأَغۡرَقۡنَـٰهُمۡ
and We drowned them
أَجۡمَعِينَ
all
٥٥
And when they angered Us, We took retribution from them and drowned them all.
43:56
فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ
And We made them
سَلَفًا
a precedent
وَمَثَلاً
and an example
لِّلۡأَخِرِينَ
for the later (generations)
٥٦
And We made them a precedent and an example for the later peoples.
43:57
۞وَلَمَّا
And when
ضُرِبَ
is presented
ٱبۡنُ
(the) son
مَرۡيَمَ
(of) Maryam
مَثَلاً
(as) an example
إِذَا
behold
قَوۡمُكَ
Your people
مِنۡهُ
about it
يَصِدُّونَ
laughed aloud
٥٧
And when the son of Mary was presented as an example,1 immediately your people laughed aloud.
43:58
وَقَالُوٓاۡ
And they said
ءَأٰلِهَتُنَا
Are our gods
خَيۡرٌ
better
أَمۡ
or
هُوَ‌ۚ
he
مَا
Not
ضَرَبُوهُ
they present it
لَكَ
to you
إِلَّا
except
جَدَلاَۢ‌ۚ
(for) argument
بَلۡ
Nay
هُمۡ
they
قَوۡمٌ
(are) a people
خَصِمُونَ
argumentative
٥٨
And they said, "Are our gods better, or is he?"1 They did not present it [i.e., the comparison] except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute.
43:59
إِنۡ
Not
هُوَ
he
إِلَّا
(was) except
عَبۡدٌ
a slave
أَنۡعَمۡنَا
We bestowed Our favor
عَلَيۡهِ
on him
وَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُ
and We made him
مَثَلاً
an example
لِّبَنِىٓ
for (the) Children of Israel
إِسۡرٰٓءِيلَ
for (the) Children of Israel
٥٩
He [i.e., Jesus] was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel.
43:60
وَلَوۡ
And if
نَشَآءُ
We willed
لَجَعَلۡنَا
surely We (could have) made
مِنكُم
among you
مَّلَـٰٓئِكَةً
Angels
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
يَخۡلُفُونَ
succeeding
٦٠
And if We willed, We could have made [instead] of you angels succeeding [one another]1 on the earth.
43:61
وَإِنَّهُۥ
And indeed, it
لَعِلۡمٌ
surely (is) a knowledge
لِّلسَّاعَةِ
of the Hour
فَلَا
So (do) not
تَمۡتَرُنَّ
(be) doubtful
بِهَا
about it
وَٱتَّبِعُونِ‌ۚ
and follow Me
هَـٰذَا
This
صِرٰطٌ
(is the) Path
مُّسۡتَقِيمٌ
Straight
٦١
And indeed, he [i.e., Jesus] will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me.1 This is a straight path.
43:62
وَلَا
And (let) not
يَصُدَّنَّكُمُ
avert you
ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنُ‌ۖ
the Shaitaan
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, he
لَكُمۡ
(is) for you
عَدُوٌّ
an enemy
مُّبِينٌ
clear
٦٢
And never let Satan avert you. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.
43:63
وَلَمَّا
And when
جَآءَ
came
عِيسَىٰ
Isa
بِٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتِ
with clear proofs
قَالَ
he said
قَدۡ
Verily
جِئۡتُكُم
I have come to you
بِٱلۡحِكۡمَةِ
with wisdom
وَلِأُبَيِّنَ
and that I make clear
لَكُم
to you
بَعۡضَ
some
ٱلَّذِى
(of) that which
تَخۡتَلِفُونَ
you differ
فِيهِ‌ۖ
in it
فَٱتَّقُواۡ
So fear
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
وَأَطِيعُونِ
and obey me
٦٣
And when Jesus brought clear proofs, he said, "I have come to you with wisdom [i.e., prophethood] and to make clear to you some of that over which you differ, so fear Allāh and obey me.
43:64
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
هُوَ
He
رَبِّى
(is) my Lord
وَرَبُّكُمۡ
and your Lord
فَٱعۡبُدُوهُ‌ۚ
so worship Him
هَـٰذَا
This
صِرٰطٌ
(is) a Path
مُّسۡتَقِيمٌ
Straight
٦٤
Indeed, Allāh is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path."
43:65
فَٱخۡتَلَفَ
But differed
ٱلۡأَحۡزَابُ
the factions
مِنۢ
from
بَيۡنِهِمۡ‌ۖ
among them
فَوَيۡلٌ
so woe
لِّلَّذِينَ
to those who
ظَلَمُواۡ
wronged
مِنۡ
from
عَذَابِ
(the) punishment
يَوۡمٍ
(of the) Day
أَلِيمٍ
painful
٦٥
But the denominations from among them differed [and separated], so woe to those who have wronged from the punishment of a painful Day.
43:66
هَلۡ
Are
يَنظُرُونَ
they waiting
إِلَّا
except
ٱلسَّاعَةَ
(for) the Hour
أَن
that
تَأۡتِيَهُم
it should come on them
بَغۡتَةً
suddenly
وَهُمۡ
while they
لَا
(do) not
يَشۡعُرُونَ
perceive
٦٦
Are they waiting except for the Hour to come upon them suddenly while they perceive not?
43:67
ٱلۡأَخِلَّآءُ
Friends
يَوۡمَئِذِۭ
that Day
بَعۡضُهُمۡ
some of them
لِبَعۡضٍ
to others
عَدُوٌّ
(will be) enemies
إِلَّا
except
ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
the righteous
٦٧
Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous
43:68
يَـٰعِبَادِ
O My slaves
لَا
No
خَوۡفٌ
fear
عَلَيۡكُمُ
on you
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
this Day
وَلَآ
and not
أَنتُمۡ
you
تَحۡزَنُونَ
will grieve
٦٨
[To whom Allāh will say], "O My servants, no fear will there be concerning you this Day, nor will you grieve,
43:69
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believed
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا
in Our Verses
وَكَانُواۡ
and were
مُسۡلِمِينَ
submissive
٦٩
[You] who believed in Our verses and were Muslims.
43:70
ٱدۡخُلُواۡ
Enter
ٱلۡجَنَّةَ
Paradise
أَنتُمۡ
you
وَأَزۡوٰجُكُمۡ
and your spouses
تُحۡبَرُونَ
delighted
٧٠
Enter Paradise, you and your kinds,1 delighted."
43:71
يُطَافُ
Will be circulated
عَلَيۡهِم
for them
بِصِحَافٍ
plates
مِّن
of
ذَهَبٍ
gold
وَأَكۡوَابٍ‌ۖ
and cups
وَفِيهَا
And therein
مَا
(is) what
تَشۡتَهِيهِ
desires
ٱلۡأَنفُسُ
the souls
وَتَلَذُّ
and delights
ٱلۡأَعۡيُنُ‌ۖ
the eyes
وَأَنتُمۡ
and you
فِيهَا
therein
خَـٰلِدُونَ
will abide forever
٧١
Circulated among them will be plates and vessels of gold. And therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes, and you will abide therein eternally.
43:72
وَتِلۡكَ
And this
ٱلۡجَنَّةُ
(is) the Paradise
ٱلَّتِىٓ
which
أُورِثۡتُمُوهَا
you are made to inherit
بِمَا
for what
كُنتُمۡ
you used to
تَعۡمَلُونَ
do
٧٢
And that is Paradise which you are made to inherit for what you used to do.
43:73
لَكُمۡ
For you
فِيهَا
therein
فَـٰكِهَةٌ
(are) fruits
كَثِيرَةٌ
abundant
مِّنۡهَا
from it
تَأۡكُلُونَ
you will eat
٧٣
For you therein is much fruit1 from which you will eat.
43:74
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
the criminals
فِى
(will be) in
عَذَابِ
(the) punishment
جَهَنَّمَ
(of) Hell
خَـٰلِدُونَ
abiding forever
٧٤
Indeed, the criminals will be in the punishment of Hell, abiding eternally.
43:75
لَا
Not
يُفَتَّرُ
will it subside
عَنۡهُمۡ
for them
وَهُمۡ
and they
فِيهِ
in it
مُبۡلِسُونَ
(will) despair
٧٥
It will not be allowed to subside for them, and they, therein, are in despair.
43:76
وَمَا
And not
ظَلَمۡنَـٰهُمۡ
We wronged them
وَلَـٰكِن
but
كَانُواۡ
they were
هُمُ
themselves
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
wrongdoers
٧٦
And We did not wrong them, but it was they who were the wrongdoers.
43:77
وَنَادَوۡاۡ
And they will call
يَـٰمَـٰلِكُ
O Malik
لِيَقۡضِ
Let put an end
عَلَيۡنَا
to us
رَبُّكَ‌ۖ
your Lord
قَالَ
He (will) say
إِنَّكُم
Indeed, you
مَّـٰكِثُونَ
(will) remain
٧٧
And they will call, "O Mālik,1 let your Lord put an end to us!" He will say, "Indeed, you will remain."
43:78
لَقَدۡ
Certainly
جِئۡنَـٰكُم
We have brought you
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
the truth
وَلَـٰكِنَّ
but
أَكۡثَرَكُمۡ
most of you
لِلۡحَقِّ
to the truth
كَـٰرِهُونَ
(are) averse
٧٨
We had certainly brought you the truth, but most of you, to the truth, were averse.
43:79
أَمۡ
Or
أَبۡرَمُوٓاۡ
have they determined
أَمۡرًا
an affair
فَإِنَّا
Then indeed, We
مُبۡرِمُونَ
(are) determined
٧٩
Or have they devised [some] affair?1 But indeed, We are devising [a plan].
43:80
أَمۡ
Or
يَحۡسَبُونَ
(do) they think
أَنَّا
that We
لَا
(can) not
نَسۡمَعُ
hear
سِرَّهُمۡ
their secret(s)
وَنَجۡوَٮٰهُم‌ۚ
and their private counsel(s)
بَلَىٰ
Nay
وَرُسُلُنَا
and Our Messengers
لَدَيۡهِمۡ
with them
يَكۡتُبُونَ
are recording
٨٠
Or do they think that We hear not their secrets and their private conversations? Yes, [We do], and Our messengers [i.e., angels] are with them recording.
43:81
قُلۡ
Say
إِن
If
كَانَ
had
لِلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ
the Most Gracious
وَلَدٌ
a son
فَأَنَاۡ
Then, I
أَوَّلُ
(would be the) first
ٱلۡعَـٰبِدِينَ
(of) the worshippers
٨١
Say, [O Muḥammad], "If the Most Merciful had a son, then I would be the first of [his] worshippers."1
43:82
سُبۡحَـٰنَ
Glory be
رَبِّ
(to the) Lord
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
and the earth
رَبِّ
(the) Lord
ٱلۡعَرۡشِ
(of) the Throne
عَمَّا
above what
يَصِفُونَ
they ascribe
٨٢
Exalted is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe.
43:83
فَذَرۡهُمۡ
So leave them
يَخُوضُواۡ
(to) converse vainly
وَيَلۡعَبُواۡ
and play
حَتَّىٰ
until
يُلَـٰقُواۡ
they meet
يَوۡمَهُمُ
their Day
ٱلَّذِى
which
يُوعَدُونَ
they are promised
٨٣
So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised.
43:84
وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the heaven
إِلَـٰهٌ
God
وَفِى
and in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
إِلَـٰهٌ‌ۚ
God
وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلۡحَكِيمُ
(is) the All-Wise
ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
the All-Knower
٨٤
And it is He [i.e., Allāh] who is [the only] deity in the heaven, and on the earth [the only] deity. And He is the Wise, the Knowing.
43:85
وَتَبَارَكَ
And blessed (is)
ٱلَّذِى
the One Who
لَهُۥ
to Whom
مُلۡكُ
(belongs the) dominion
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
and the earth
وَمَا
and whatever
بَيۡنَهُمَا
(is) between both of them
وَعِندَهُۥ
and with Him
عِلۡمُ
(is the) knowledge
ٱلسَّاعَةِ
(of) the Hour
وَإِلَيۡهِ
and to Him
تُرۡجَعُونَ
you will be returned
٨٥
And blessed is He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them and with whom is knowledge of the Hour and to whom you will be returned.
43:86
وَلَا
And not
يَمۡلِكُ
have power
ٱلَّذِينَ
those whom
يَدۡعُونَ
they invoke
مِن
besides Him
دُونِهِ
besides Him
ٱلشَّفَـٰعَةَ
(for) the intercession
إِلَّا
except
مَن
who
شَهِدَ
testifies
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
to the truth
وَهُمۡ
and they
يَعۡلَمُونَ
know
٨٦
And those they invoke1 besides Him do not possess [power of] intercession; but only those who testify to the truth [can benefit], and they know.2
43:87
وَلَئِن
And if
سَأَلۡتَهُم
you ask them
مَّنۡ
who
خَلَقَهُمۡ
created them
لَيَقُولُنَّ
they will certainly say
ٱللَّهُ‌ۖ
Allah
فَأَنَّىٰ
Then how
يُؤۡفَكُونَ
are they deluded
٨٧
And if you asked them1 who created them, they would surely say, "Allāh." So how are they deluded?
43:88
وَقِيلِهِۦ
And his saying
يَـٰرَبِّ
O my Lord
إِنَّ
Indeed
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
these
قَوۡمٌ
(are) a people
لَّا
(who do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
believe
٨٨
And [Allāh acknowledges] his saying,1 "O my Lord, indeed these are a people who do not believe."
43:89
فَٱصۡفَحۡ
So turn away
عَنۡهُمۡ
from them
وَقُلۡ
and say
سَلَـٰمٌ‌ۚ
Peace
فَسَوۡفَ
But soon
يَعۡلَمُونَ
they will know
٨٩
So turn aside from them and say, "Peace."1 But they are going to know.
44:1
حمٓ
Ha Meem
١
Ḥā, Meem.1
44:2
وَٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ
By the Book
ٱلۡمُبِينِ
the clear
٢
By the clear Book,
44:3
إِنَّآ
Indeed, We
أَنزَلۡنَـٰهُ
revealed it
فِى
in
لَيۡلَةٍ
a Night
مُّبَـٰرَكَةٍ‌ۚ
Blessed
إِنَّا
Indeed, We
كُنَّا
[We] are
مُنذِرِينَ
(ever) warning
٣
Indeed, We sent it down during a blessed night.1 Indeed, We were to warn [mankind].
44:4
فِيهَا
Therein
يُفۡرَقُ
is made distinct
كُلُّ
every
أَمۡرٍ
affair
حَكِيمٍ
wise
٤
Therein [i.e., on that night] is made distinct1 every precise matter -
44:5
أَمۡرًا
A command
مِّنۡ
from
عِندِنَآ‌ۚ
Us
إِنَّا
Indeed, We
كُنَّا
[We] are
مُرۡسِلِينَ
(ever) sending
٥
[Every] matter [proceeding] from Us. Indeed, We were to send [a messenger]
44:6
رَحۡمَةً
As Mercy
مِّن
from
رَّبِّكَ‌ۚ
your Lord
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, He
هُوَ
[He]
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
(is) the All-Hearer
ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
the All-Knower
٦
As mercy from your Lord. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing,
44:7
رَبِّ
Lord
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
and the earth
وَمَا
and whatever
بَيۡنَهُمَآ‌ۖ
(is) between both of them
إِن
if
كُنتُم
you are
مُّوقِنِينَ
certain
٧
Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them, if you would be certain.
44:8
لَآ
(There is) no
إِلَـٰهَ
god
إِلَّا
except
هُوَ
Him
يُحۡىِۦ
He gives life
وَيُمِيتُ‌ۖ
and causes death
رَبُّكُمۡ
your Lord
وَرَبُّ
and (the) Lord
ءَابَآئِكُمُ
(of) your fathers
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
the former
٨
There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death. [He is] your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers.
44:9
بَلۡ
Nay
هُمۡ
they
فِى
(are) in
شَكٍّ
doubt
يَلۡعَبُونَ
playing
٩
But they are in doubt, amusing themselves.
44:10
فَٱرۡتَقِبۡ
Then watch
يَوۡمَ
(for the) Day
تَأۡتِى
(when) will bring
ٱلسَّمَآءُ
the sky
بِدُخَانٍ
smoke
مُّبِينٍ
visible
١٠
Then watch for the Day when the sky will bring a visible smoke
44:11
يَغۡشَى
Enveloping
ٱلنَّاسَ‌ۖ
the people
هَـٰذَا
This
عَذَابٌ
(will be) a punishment
أَلِيمٌ
painful
١١
Covering the people; this is a painful torment.
44:12
رَّبَّنَا
Our Lord
ٱكۡشِفۡ
Remove
عَنَّا
from us
ٱلۡعَذَابَ
the punishment
إِنَّا
indeed, we
مُؤۡمِنُونَ
(are) believers
١٢
[They will say], "Our Lord, remove from us the torment; indeed, we are believers."
44:13
أَنَّىٰ
How can
لَهُمُ
(there be) for them
ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ
the reminder
وَقَدۡ
when verily
جَآءَهُمۡ
had come to them
رَسُولٌ
a Messenger
مُّبِينٌ
clear
١٣
How will there be for them a reminder [at that time]? And there had come to them a clear Messenger.
44:14
ثُمَّ
Then
تَوَلَّوۡاۡ
they turned away
عَنۡهُ
from him
وَقَالُواۡ
and said
مُعَلَّمٌ
One taught
مَّجۡنُونٌ
a mad man
١٤
Then they turned away from him and said, "[He was] taught [and is] a madman."
44:15
إِنَّا
Indeed, We
كَاشِفُواۡ
(will) remove
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
the punishment
قَلِيلاً‌ۚ
a little
إِنَّكُمۡ
indeed, you
عَآئِدُونَ
(will) return
١٥
Indeed, We will remove the torment for a little. Indeed, you [disbelievers] will return [to disbelief].
44:16
يَوۡمَ
(The) Day
نَبۡطِشُ
We will seize
ٱلۡبَطۡشَةَ
(with) the seizure
ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰٓ
the greatest
إِنَّا
indeed, We
مُنتَقِمُونَ
(will) take retribution
١٦
The Day We will strike with the greatest assault, indeed, We will take retribution.
44:17
۞وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
فَتَنَّا
We tried
قَبۡلَهُمۡ
before them
قَوۡمَ
(the) people
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
(of) Firaun
وَجَآءَهُمۡ
and came to them
رَسُولٌ
a Messenger
كَرِيمٌ
noble
١٧
And We had already tried before them the people of Pharaoh, and there came to them a noble messenger [i.e., Moses],
44:18
أَنۡ
That
أَدُّوٓاۡ
Deliver
إِلَىَّ
to me
عِبَادَ
(the) servants
ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ
(of) Allah
إِنِّى
Indeed, I am
لَكُمۡ
to you
رَسُولٌ
a Messenger
أَمِينٌ
trustworthy
١٨
[Saying], "Render to me the servants of Allāh.1 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger,"
44:19
وَأَن
And that
لَّا
(do) not
تَعۡلُواۡ
exalt yourselves
عَلَى
against
ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ
Allah
إِنِّىٓ
Indeed, I
ءَاتِيكُم
[I] have come to you
بِسُلۡطَـٰنٍ
with an authority
مُّبِينٍ
clear
١٩
And [saying], "Be not haughty with Allāh. Indeed, I have come to you with clear evidence.
44:20
وَإِنِّى
And indeed, I
عُذۡتُ
[I] seek refuge
بِرَبِّى
with my Lord
وَرَبِّكُمۡ
and your Lord
أَن
lest
تَرۡجُمُونِ
you stone me
٢٠
And indeed, I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord, lest you stone me.1
44:21
وَإِن
And if
لَّمۡ
not
تُؤۡمِنُواۡ
you believe
لِى
me
فَٱعۡتَزِلُونِ
then leave me alone
٢١
But if you do not believe me, then leave me alone."
44:22
فَدَعَا
So he called
رَبَّهُۥٓ
his Lord
أَنَّ
That
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
these
قَوۡمٌ
(are) a people
مُّجۡرِمُونَ
criminals
٢٢
And [finally] he called to his Lord that these were a criminal people.
44:23
فَأَسۡرِ
Then "Set out
بِعِبَادِى
with My slaves
لَيۡلاً
(by) night
إِنَّكُم
Indeed, you
مُّتَّبَعُونَ
(will be) followed
٢٣
[Allāh said], "Then set out with My servants by night. Indeed, you are to be pursued.
44:24
وَٱتۡرُكِ
And leave
ٱلۡبَحۡرَ
the sea
رَهۡوًا‌ۖ
at rest
إِنَّهُمۡ
Indeed, they
جُندٌ
(are) an army
مُّغۡرَقُونَ
(to be) drowned
٢٤
And leave the sea in stillness.1 Indeed, they are an army to be drowned."
44:25
كَمۡ
How many
تَرَكُواۡ
(did) they leave
مِن
of
جَنَّـٰتٍ
gardens
وَعُيُونٍ
and springs
٢٥
How much they left behind of gardens and springs
44:26
وَزُرُوعٍ
And cornfields
وَمَقَامٍ
and places
كَرِيمٍ
noble
٢٦
And crops and noble sites
44:27
وَنَعۡمَةٍ
And pleasant things
كَانُواۡ
they used to
فِيهَا
therein
فَـٰكِهِينَ
take delight
٢٧
And comfort wherein they were amused.
44:28
كَذٰلِكَ‌ۖ
Thus
وَأَوۡرَثۡنَـٰهَا
And We made it (an) inherit(ance)
قَوۡمًا
(for) a people
ءَاخَرِينَ
another
٢٨
Thus. And We caused to inherit it another people.
44:29
فَمَا
And not
بَكَتۡ
wept
عَلَيۡهِمُ
for them
ٱلسَّمَآءُ
the heaven
وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ
and the earth
وَمَا
and not
كَانُواۡ
they were
مُنظَرِينَ
given respite
٢٩
And the heaven and earth wept not for them, nor were they reprieved.
44:30
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
نَجَّيۡنَا
We saved
بَنِىٓ
(the) Children of Israel
إِسۡرٰٓءِيلَ
(the) Children of Israel
مِنَ
from
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
the punishment
ٱلۡمُهِينِ
the humiliating
٣٠
And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment -
44:31
مِن
From
فِرۡعَوۡنَ‌ۚ
Firaun
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, he
كَانَ
was
عَالِيًا
arrogant
مِّنَ
among
ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ
the transgressors
٣١
From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors.
44:32
وَلَقَدِ
And certainly
ٱخۡتَرۡنَـٰهُمۡ
We chose them
عَلَىٰ
by
عِلۡمٍ
knowledge
عَلَى
over
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
the worlds
٣٢
And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds.
44:33
وَءَاتَيۡنَـٰهُم
And We gave them
مِّنَ
of
ٱلۡأَيَـٰتِ
the Signs
مَا
that
فِيهِ
in it
بَلَـٰٓؤٌاۡ
(was) a trial
مُّبِينٌ
clear
٣٣
And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial.
44:34
إِنَّ
Indeed
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
these
لَيَقُولُونَ
surely, they say
٣٤
Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying,
44:35
إِنۡ
Not
هِىَ
it
إِلَّا
(is) but
مَوۡتَتُنَا
our death
ٱلۡأُولَىٰ
the first
وَمَا
and not
نَحۡنُ
we
بِمُنشَرِينَ
(will be) raised again
٣٥
"There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected.
44:36
فَأۡتُواۡ
Then bring
بِـَٔـابَآئِنَآ
our forefathers
إِن
if
كُنتُمۡ
you are
صَـٰدِقِينَ
truthful
٣٦
Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful."
44:37
أَهُمۡ
Are they
خَيۡرٌ
better
أَمۡ
or
قَوۡمُ
(the) people
تُبَّعٍ
(of) Tubba
وَٱلَّذِينَ
and those
مِن
before them
قَبۡلِهِمۡ‌ۚ
before them
أَهۡلَكۡنَـٰهُمۡ‌ۖ
We destroyed them
إِنَّهُمۡ
indeed, they
كَانُواۡ
were
مُجۡرِمِينَ
criminals
٣٧
Are they better or the people of Tubbaʿ1 and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals.
44:38
وَمَا
And not
خَلَقۡنَا
We created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ
and the earth
وَمَا
and whatever
بَيۡنَهُمَا
(is) between them
لَـٰعِبِينَ
(in) play
٣٨
And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play.
44:39
مَا
Not
خَلَقۡنَـٰهُمَآ
We created both of them
إِلَّا
but
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
in [the] truth
وَلَـٰكِنَّ
but
أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ
most of them
لَا
(do) not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
know
٣٩
We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know.
44:40
إِنَّ
Indeed
يَوۡمَ
(the) Day of Judgment
ٱلۡفَصۡلِ
(the) Day of Judgment
مِيقَـٰتُهُمۡ
(is) an appointed term for them
أَجۡمَعِينَ
all
٤٠
Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all -
44:41
يَوۡمَ
(The) Day
لَا
not
يُغۡنِى
will avail
مَوۡلًى
a relation
عَن
for
مَّوۡلًى
a relation
شَيۡــًٔا
anything
وَلَا
and not
هُمۡ
they
يُنصَرُونَ
will be helped
٤١
The Day when no relation1 will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped -
44:42
إِلَّا
Except
مَن
(on) whom
رَّحِمَ
Allah has mercy
ٱللَّهُ‌ۚ
Allah has mercy
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, He
هُوَ
[He]
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
the Most Merciful
٤٢
Except those [believers] on whom Allāh has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
44:43
إِنَّ
Indeed
شَجَرَتَ
(the) tree
ٱلزَّقُّومِ
(of) Zaqqum
٤٣
Indeed, the tree of zaqqūm
44:44
طَعَامُ
(Will be) food
ٱلۡأَثِيمِ
(of) the sinner(s)
٤٤
Is food for the sinful.
44:45
كَٱلۡمُهۡلِ
Like the murky oil
يَغۡلِى
it will boil
فِى
in
ٱلۡبُطُونِ
the bellies
٤٥
Like murky oil, it boils within bellies
44:46
كَغَلۡىِ
Like boiling
ٱلۡحَمِيمِ
(of) scalding water
٤٦
Like the boiling of scalding water.
