Hizb 37
2 Surahs167 Versesالحزب 37
25:21
۞وَقَالَ
And said
those who
لَا
(do) not
يَرۡجُونَ
expect
لِقَا ٓءَنَا
(the) meeting with Us
لَوۡلَآ
Why not
أُنز ِلَ
are sent down
عَلَيۡنَا
to us
the Angels
أَوۡ
or
نَرَىٰ
we see
رَبَّنَاۗ
our Lord
لَقَدِ
Indeed
they have become arrogant
فِىٓ
within
أَنف ُسِهِمۡ
themselves
وَعَتَوۡ
and (become) insolent
عُتُوًّا
(with) insolence
great
And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves1 and [become] insolent with great insolence.
25:22
يَوۡمَ
(The) Day
يَرَوۡنَ
they see
the Angels
لَا
no
بُشۡرَىٰ
glad tidings
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
(will be) that Day
for the criminals
وَيَقُولُونَ
and they will say
حِجۡ رًا
A partition
forbidden
The day they see the angels1 - no good tidings will there be that day for the criminals, and [the angels] will say, "Prevented and inaccessible."2
25:23
وَقَدِمۡنَآ
And We will proceed
إِلَىٰ
to
مَا
whatever
عَمِلُواۡ
they did
مِنۡ
of
عَمَلٍ
(the) deed(s)
and We will make them
هَبَا ٓءً
(as) dust
dispersed
And We will approach [i.e., regard]1 what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed.
25:24
أَصۡحَـٰ بُ
(The) companions
(of) Paradise
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
خَيۡرٌ
(will be in) a better
abode
and a better
مَقِيلاً
٢٤resting-place
The companions of Paradise, that Day, are [in] a better settlement and better resting place.
25:25
وَيَوۡمَ
And (the) Day
تَشَقَّقُ
will split open
the heavens
بِٱ لۡغَمَـٰ مِ
with the clouds
وَنُزِّلَ
and (will be) sent down
the Angels
تَنز ِيلاً
٢٥descending
And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds,1 and the angels will be sent down in successive descent.
25:26
ٱلۡمُلۡكُ
The Sovereignty
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
(will be) truly
لِلرَّحۡمَـٰ نِۚ
for the Most Gracious
وَكَانَ
And (it will) be
يَوۡمًا
a Day
عَلَى
for
the disbelievers
عَسِيرًا
٢٦difficult
True sovereignty, that Day, is for the Most Merciful. And it will be upon the disbelievers a difficult Day.
25:27
وَيَوۡمَ
And (the) Day
يَعَضُّ
will bite
the wrongdoer
عَلَىٰ
[on]
يَدَيۡهِ
his hands
يَقُولُ
he will say
يَـٰ لَيۡتَنِى
O I wish
I had taken
مَعَ
with
the Messenger
سَبِيلاً
٢٧a way
And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, "Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way.1
25:28
يَـٰ وَيۡلَتَىٰ
O woe to me
لَيۡتَنِى
I wish
لَمۡ
not
أَتَّخِذۡ
I had taken
فُلَانًا
that one
خَلِيلاً
٢٨(as) a friend
Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one1 as a friend.
25:29
لَّقَدۡ
Verily
أَضَلَّنِى
he led me astray
عَنِ
from
the Reminder
بَعۡدَ
after
إِذۡ
[when]
جَا ٓءَنِىۗ
it (had) come to me
وَكَانَ
And is
the Shaitaan
لِلۡإِنس َـٰ نِ
to the man
خَذُولاً
٢٩a deserter
He led me away from the remembrance1 after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter."2
25:30
وَقَالَ
And said
the Messenger
يَـٰ رَبِّ
O my Lord
إِنّ َ
Indeed
قَوۡمِى
my people
took
هَـٰ ذَا
this
the Quran
مَهۡجُورًا
٣٠(as) a forsaken thing
And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur’ān as [a thing] abandoned."1
25:31
وَكَذٰ لِكَ
And thus
جَعَلۡنَا
We have made
لِكُلِّ
for every
نَبِىٍّ
Prophet
عَدُوًّا
an enemy
among
the criminals
وَكَفَىٰ
But sufficient is
بِرَبِّكَ
your Lord
هَادِيًا
(as) a Guide
and a Helper
And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper.
25:32
وَقَالَ
And said
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
لَوۡلَا
Why not
نُزِّلَ
was revealed
عَلَيۡهِ
to him
the Quran
جُمۡلَةً
all at once
all at once
Thus
لِنُثَبِّتَ
that We may strengthen
بِهِۦ
thereby
فُؤَادَكَۖ
your heart
وَرَتَّلۡنَـٰ هُ
and We have recited it
تَرۡتِيلاً
٣٢(with distinct) recitation
And those who disbelieve say, "Why was the Qur’ān not revealed to him all at once?" Thus [it is] that We may strengthen thereby your heart. And We have spaced it distinctly.1
25:33
وَلَا
And not
يَأۡتُونَكَ
they come to you
بِمَثَلٍ
with an example
إِلَّا
but
جِئۡنَـٰ كَ
We bring you
بِٱ لۡحَقِّ
the truth
وَأَحۡسَنَ
and (the) best
تَفۡسِيرًا
٣٣explanation
And they do not come to you with an example [i.e., argument] except that We bring you the truth and the best explanation.
25:34
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
يُحۡشَرُونَ
will be gathered
عَلَىٰ
on
وُجُوهِهِمۡ
their faces
إِلَىٰ
to
جَهَنّ َمَ
Hell
أُوۡ لَـٰٓ ئِكَ
those
شَرٌّ
(are the) worst
(in) position
and most astray
سَبِيلاً
٣٤(from the) way
The ones who are gathered on their faces to Hell - those are the worst in position and farthest astray in [their] way.
25:35
وَلَقَدۡ
And verily
ءَاتَيۡنَا
We gave
مُوسَى
Musa
the Scripture
وَجَعَلۡنَا
and We appointed
مَعَهُۥٓ
with him
أَخَاهُ
his brother
هَـٰ رُونَ
Harun
وَزِيرًا
٣٥(as) an assistant
And We had certainly given Moses the Scripture and appointed with him his brother Aaron as an assistant.
25:36
فَقُلۡنَا
Then We said
Go both of you
إِلَى
to
the people
those who
كَذَّبُواۡ
have denied
بِـَٔـايَـٰ تِنَا
Our Signs
فَدَمّ َرۡنَـٰ هُمۡ
Then We destroyed them
تَدۡ مِيرًا
٣٦(with) destruction
And We said, "Go both of you to the people who have denied Our signs." Then We destroyed them with [complete] destruction.
25:37
وَقَوۡمَ
And (the) people
نُوحٍ
(of) Nuh
when
كَذَّبُواۡ
they denied
the Messengers
أَغۡرَقۡ نَـٰ هُمۡ
We drowned them
وَجَعَلۡنَـٰ هُمۡ
and We made them
لِلنّ َاسِ
for mankind
ءَايَةًۖ
a sign
And We have prepared
لِلظَّـٰ لِمِينَ
for the wrongdoers
عَذَابًا
a punishment
أَلِيمًا
٣٧painful
And the people of Noah - when they denied the messengers,1 We drowned them, and We made them for mankind a sign. And We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment.
25:38
وَعَادًا
And Ad
and Thamud
وَأَصۡحَـٰ بَ
and (the) dwellers
(of) Ar-rass
وَقُرُونَۢا
and generations
between
ذٰ لِكَ
that
كَثِيرًا
٣٨many
And [We destroyed] ʿAad and Thamūd and the companions of the well1 and many generations between them.
25:39
وَكُلاًّ
And each
We have set forth
لَهُ
for him
the examples
وَكُلاًّ
and each
We destroyed
تَتۡبِيرًا
٣٩(with) destruction
And for each We presented examples [as warnings], and each We destroyed with [total] destruction.
25:40
وَلَقَدۡ
And verily
أَتَوۡاۡ
they have come
عَلَى
upon
the town
which
أُمۡطِرَتۡ
was showered
مَطَرَ
(with) a rain
(of) evil
أَفَلَمۡ
Then do not
يَكُونُواۡ
they [were]
يَرَوۡنَهَاۚ
see it
بَلۡ
Nay
كَانُواۡ
they are
لَا
not
يَرۡجُونَ
expecting
نُشُورًا
٤٠Resurrection
And they have already come upon the town which was showered with a rain of evil [i.e., stones]. So have they not seen it? But they are not expecting resurrection.1
25:41
وَإِذَا
And when
رَأَوۡكَ
they see you
إِن
not
they take you
إِلَّا
except
هُزُوًا
(in) mockery
أَهَـٰ ذَا
Is this
the one whom
بَعَثَ
Allah has sent
Allah has sent
رَسُولاً
٤١(as) a Messenger
And when they see you, [O Muḥammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one whom Allāh has sent as a messenger?
25:42
إِن
He would have almost
He would have almost
لَيُضِلُّنَا
[surely] misled us
عَنۡ
from
ءَالِهَتِنَا
our gods
لَوۡلَآ
if not
أَن
that
we had been steadfast
عَلَيۡهَاۚ
to them
وَسَوۡفَ
And soon
يَعۡلَمُونَ
will know
حِينَ
when
يَرَوۡنَ
they will see
the punishment
مَنۡ
who
أَضَلُّ
(is) more astray
سَبِيلاً
٤٢(from the) way
He almost would have misled us from our gods had we not been steadfast in [worship of] them." But they are going to know, when they see the punishment, who is farthest astray in [his] way.
25:43
أَرَءَيۡتَ
Have you seen
مَنِ
(one) who
takes
إِلَـٰ هَهُۥ
(as) his god
هَوَٮٰ هُ
his own desire
أَفَأَنت َ
Then would you
تَكُونُ
be
عَلَيۡهِ
over him
وَكِيلاً
٤٣a guardian
Have you seen the one who takes as his god his own desire? Then would you be responsible for him?
25:44
أَمۡ
Or
تَحۡسَبُ
do you think
أَنّ َ
that
أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ
most of them
يَسۡمَعُونَ
hear
أَوۡ
or
يَعۡقِلُونَۚ
understand
إِنۡ
Not
هُمۡ
they
إِلَّا
(are) except
كَٱ لۡأَنۡعَـٰ مِۖ
like cattle
بَلۡ
Nay
هُمۡ
they
أَضَلُّ
(are) more astray
سَبِيلاً
٤٤(from the) way
Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are not except like livestock.1 Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way.
25:45
أَلَمۡ
Do you not
تَرَ
see
إِلَىٰ
[to]
رَبِّكَ
your Lord
كَيۡفَ
how
مَدَّ
He extends
the shadow
وَلَوۡ
And if
شَا ٓءَ
He willed
لَجَعَلَهُۥ
surely He (could) have made it
سَاكِنًا
stationary
Then
جَعَلۡنَا
We made
the sun
عَلَيۡهِ
for it
دَلِيلاً
٤٥an indication
Have you not considered your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication.1
25:46
ثُمّ َ
Then
قَبَضۡنَـٰ هُ
We withdraw it
إِلَيۡنَا
to Us
قَبۡ ضًا
a withdrawal
gradual
Then We [retract and] hold it with Us for a brief grasp.1
25:47
وَهُوَ
And He
(is) the One Who
جَعَلَ
made
لَكُمُ
for you
the night
لِبَاسًا
(as) a covering
and the sleep
سُبَاتًا
a rest
and made
the day
نُشُورًا
٤٧a resurrection
And it is He who has made the night for you as clothing1 and sleep [a means for] rest and has made the day a resurrection.2
25:48
وَهُوَ
And He
(is) the One Who
أَرۡسَلَ
sends
the winds
بُشۡرَۢا
(as) glad tidings
before
يَدَىۡ
before
رَحۡمَتِهِۦ ۚ
His Mercy
وَأَنز َلۡنَا
and We send down
مِنَ
from
the sky
مَا ٓءً
water
pure
And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy [i.e., rainfall], and We send down from the sky pure water
25:49
لِّنُحۡــِۧىَ
That We may give life
بِهِۦ
thereby
بَلۡدَةً
(to) a land
dead
and We give drink
مِمّ َا
thereof
خَلَقۡ نَآ
(to those) We created
أَنۡعَـٰ مًا
cattle
and men
كَثِيرًا
٤٩many
That We may bring to life thereby a dead land and give it as drink to those We created of numerous livestock and men.
25:50
وَلَقَدۡ
And verily
صَرَّفۡنَـٰ هُ
We have distributed it
بَيۡنَهُمۡ
among them
لِيَذَّكَّرُواۡ
that they may remember
فَأَبَىٰٓ
but refuse
أَكۡثَرُ
most
(of) the people
إِلَّا
except
كُفُورًا
٥٠disbelief
And We have certainly distributed it among them that they might be reminded,1 but most of the people refuse except disbelief.
25:51
وَلَوۡ
And if
شِئۡنَا
We willed
لَبَعَثۡنَا
surely, We (would) have raised
فِى
in
كُلِّ
every
قَرۡيَةٍ
town
a warner
And if We had willed, We could have sent into every city a warner.1
25:52
فَلَا
So (do) not
تُطِعِ
obey
the disbelievers
وَجَـٰ هِدۡ هُم
and strive (against) them
with it
جِهَادًا
a striving
great
So do not obey the disbelievers, and strive against them with it [i.e., the Qur’ān] a great striving.
25:53
۞وَهُوَ
And He
(is) the One Who
مَرَجَ
(has) released
the two seas
هَـٰ ذَا
[this] (one)
عَذۡبٌ
palatable
and sweet
and [this] (one)
مِلۡحٌ
salty
أُجَاجٌ
(and) bitter
and He has made
بَيۡنَهُمَا
between them
بَرۡزَخًا
a barrier
and a partition
forbidden
And it is He who has released [simultaneously] the two seas [i.e., bodies of water], one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition.
25:54
وَهُوَ
And He
(is) the One Who
خَلَقَ
has created
مِنَ
from
the water
بَشَرًا
human being
and has made (for) him
نَسَبًا
blood relationship
and marriage relationship
And is
رَبُّكَ
your Lord
قَدِيرًا
٥٤All-Powerful
And it is He who has created from water [i.e., semen] a human being and made him [a relative by] lineage and marriage. And ever is your Lord competent [concerning creation].
25:55
وَيَعۡبُدُونَ
But they worship
مِن
besides Allah
besides Allah
besides Allah
مَا
what
لَا
not profits them
يَنف َعُهُمۡ
not profits them
وَلَا
and not
يَضُرُّهُمۡۗ
harms them
وَكَانَ
and is
the disbeliever
عَلَىٰ
against
رَبِّهِۦ
his Lord
ظَهِيرًا
٥٥a helper
But they worship rather than Allāh that which does not benefit them or harm them, and the disbeliever is ever, against his Lord, an assistant [to Satan].
25:56
وَمَآ
And not
أَرۡسَلۡنَـٰ كَ
We sent you
إِلَّا
except
مُبَشِّرًا
(as) a bearer of glad tidings
and a warner
And We have not sent you, [O Muḥammad], except as a bringer of good tidings and a warner.
25:57

سَبِيلاً
٥٧a way
Say, "I do not ask of you for it any payment - only that whoever wills might take to his Lord a way."
25:58
وَتَوَكَّلۡ
And put your trust
عَلَى
in
the Ever-Living
the One Who
لَا
does not die

does not die
وَسَبِّحۡ

٥٨All-Aware
And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die, and exalt [Allāh] with His praise. And sufficient is He to be, with the sins of His servants, [fully] Aware -
25:59

He who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days and then established Himself above the Throne1 - the Most Merciful, so ask about Him one well informed [i.e., the Prophet (ﷺ)].
25:60
وَإِذَا
And when
قِيلَ
it is said
لَهُمُ
to them
Prostrate
لِلرَّحۡمَـٰ نِ
to the Most Gracious
قَالُواۡ
They say
وَمَا
And what
(is) the Most Gracious
أَنَسۡجُدُ
Should we prostrate
لِمَا
to what
تَأۡمُرُنَا
you order us
وَزَادَهُمۡ
And it increases them
نُفُورًا
۩(in) aversion
And when it is said to them, "Prostrate to the Most Merciful," they say, "And what is the Most Merciful? Should we prostrate to that which you order us?" And it increases them in aversion.
25:61
تَبَارَكَ
Blessed is He
Who
جَعَلَ
has placed
فِى
in
the skies
بُرُوجًا
constellations
and has placed
فِيهَا
therein
سِرٰ جًا
a lamp
and a moon
shining
Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon.
25:62
وَهُوَ
And He
(is) the One Who
جَعَلَ
made
the night
وَٱ ل نّ َهَارَ

desires
شُكُورًا
٦٢to be thankful
And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or desires gratitude.
25:63
وَعِبَادُ
And (the) slaves
(of) the Most Gracious
(are) those who
يَمۡشُونَ
walk
عَلَى
on
the earth
هَوۡنًا
(in) humbleness
and when
خَاطَبَهُمُ
address them
the ignorant ones
قَالُواۡ
they say
سَلَـٰ مًا
٦٣Peace
And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily,1 and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace,2
25:64
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
And those who
يَبِيتُونَ
spend (the) night
لِرَبِّهِمۡ
before their Lord

prostrating
and standing
And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]
25:65
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
And those who
يَقُولُونَ

Our Lord
Avert

(of) Hell
إِنّ َ
Indeed
عَذَابَهَا
its punishment

is
غَرَامًا
٦٥inseparable
And those who say, "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering;
25:66
إِنّ َهَا
Indeed, it
سَا ٓءَتۡ
(is) an evil
مُسۡتَقَرًّا
abode
and resting place
Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence."
25:67
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
And those who
إِذَآ
when
أَنف َقُواۡ
they spend
لَمۡ
(are) not extravagant
يُسۡرِفُواۡ
(are) not extravagant
وَلَمۡ
and are not stingy
يَقۡ تُرُواۡ
and are not stingy
وَكَانَ
but are
بَيۡنَ
between

that
قَوَامًا
٦٧moderate
And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderate
25:68
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
And those who

ذٰ لِكَ
that
يَلۡقَ
will meet
أَثَامًا
٦٨a penalty
And those who do not invoke1 with Allāh another deity or kill the soul which Allāh has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty.
25:69
يُضَـٰ عَفۡ
Will be doubled
لَهُ
for him
the punishment
يَوۡمَ
(on the) Day
(of) Resurrection
وَيَخۡلُدۡ
and he will abide forever
فِيهِۦ
therein
مُهَانًا
٦٩humiliated
Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated -

إِلَّا
Except

their evil deeds
حَسَنَـٰ تٍۗ
(with) good ones
And is
Allah
غَفُورًا
Oft-Forgiving
Most Merciful
Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allāh will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allāh Forgiving and Merciful.
25:71
وَمَن
And whoever
repents
وَعَمِلَ
and does
صَـٰ لِحًا
righteous (deeds)
then indeed, he
يَتُوبُ
turns
إِلَى
to
Allah
مَتَابًا
٧١(with) repentance
And he who repents and does righteousness does indeed turn to Allāh with [accepted] repentance.
25:72
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
And those who

by futility
مَرُّواۡ
they pass
كِرَامًا
٧٢(as) dignified ones
And [they are] those who do not testify to falsehood, and when they pass near ill speech, they pass by with dignity.
25:73
وَٱ لَّذِينَ
And those who

when
ذُكِّرُواۡ
they are reminded

and they will be met
فِيهَا
therein

(with) greetings
and peace
Those will be awarded the Chamber1 for what they patiently endured, and they will be received therein with greetings and [words of] peace,
25:76
خَـٰ لِدِينَ

Perhaps, [O Muḥammad], you would kill yourself with grief that they will not be believers.

He said

And [then] you did your deed which you did,1 and you were of the ungrateful."
26:20
قَالَ
He said
فَعَلۡتُهَآ
I did it
إِذًا
when
I

[Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray [i.e., ignorant].

So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me judgement [i.e., wisdom and prophet hood] and appointed me [as one] of the messengers.

And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?"
26:23
قَالَ
Firaun said
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
Firaun said
وَمَا
And what

[Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?"
26:26
قَالَ
He said
رَبُّكُمۡ
Your Lord
وَرَبُّ
and (the) Lord
ءَابَا ٓئِكُمُ
(of) your forefathers
(of) your forefathers
[Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers."
26:27
قَالَ
He said
إِنّ َ
Indeed

your Messenger
who

لَمَجۡ نُو نٌ
٢٧(is) surely mad
[Pharaoh] said,1 "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad."
26:28
قَالَ
He said
رَبُّ
Lord
(of) the east
وَٱ لۡمَغۡرِبِ
and the west
وَمَا

٢٨(to) reason
[Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason."
26:29
قَالَ
He said
لَئِنِ
If
you take
إِلَـٰ هًا
a god
غَيۡرِى
other than me
لَأَجۡ عَلَنّ َكَ
I will surely make you

those imprisoned
[Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned."
26:30
قَالَ
He said
أَوَلَوۡ
Even if
جِئۡتُكَ
I bring you
بِشَىۡءٍ
something
manifest
[Moses] said, "Even if I brought you something [i.e., proof] manifest?"
26:31
قَالَ
He said
فَأۡتِ
Then bring
بِهِۦٓ
it
إِن
if
you are
مِنَ
of
the truthful
[Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful."
26:32
فَأَلۡقَىٰ
So he threw
عَصَاهُ
his staff
فَإِذَا
and behold
هِىَ
It
ثُعۡبَانٌ
(was) a serpent
manifest
So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest.1
26:33
وَنَزَعَ
And he drew out
يَدَهُۥ
his hand
فَإِذَا
and behold
هِىَ
It
بَيۡضَا ٓءُ
(was) white
لِلنّ َـٰ ظِرِي نَ
٣٣for the observers
And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers.
26:34
قَالَ
He said
لِلۡمَلَإِ
to the chiefs
حَوۡلَهُۥٓ
around him
إِنّ َ
Indeed
هَـٰ ذَا
this
لَسَـٰ حِرٌ
(is) surely a magician

٣٤learned
[Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, "Indeed, this is a learned magician.
26:35

He wants

فَمَاذَا
so what

٣٥(do) you advise
He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise?"
26:36
قَالُوٓ اۡ
They said

Postpone him
وَأَخَاهُ
and his brother
وَٱ بۡ عَثۡ

٣٦gatherers
They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers
26:37
يَأۡتُوكَ
They (will) bring to you

Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician."
26:38
فَجُمِعَ
So were assembled
the magicians
لِمِيقَـٰ تِ
for (the) appointment

(on) a day
well-known
So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day.1
26:39
وَقِيلَ
And it was said

And it was said to the people, "Will you congregate.
26:40
لَعَلَّنَا
That we may
نَتَّبِعُ
follow
the magicians
إِن
if
they are
هُمُ
they are
the victorious
That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant?"
26:41
فَلَمّ َا
So when
جَا ٓءَ
came
the magicians
قَالُواۡ
they said
لِفِرۡعَوۡنَ
to Firaun
أَئِنّ َ
Is there
لَنَا
for us
لَأَجۡ رًا
a reward
إِن
if
we are
نَحۡنُ
we are
the victorious
And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant?"
