Hizb 37

2 Surahs167 Versesالحزب 37
25:21
۞وَقَالَ
And said
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
لَا
(do) not
يَرۡجُونَ
expect
لِقَآءَنَا
(the) meeting with Us
لَوۡلَآ
Why not
أُنزِلَ
are sent down
عَلَيۡنَا
to us
ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ
the Angels
أَوۡ
or
نَرَىٰ
we see
رَبَّنَا‌ۗ
our Lord
لَقَدِ
Indeed
ٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواۡ
they have become arrogant
فِىٓ
within
أَنفُسِهِمۡ
themselves
وَعَتَوۡ
and (become) insolent
عُتُوًّا
(with) insolence
كَبِيرًا
great
٢١
And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves1 and [become] insolent with great insolence.
25:22
يَوۡمَ
(The) Day
يَرَوۡنَ
they see
ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ
the Angels
لَا
no
بُشۡرَىٰ
glad tidings
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
(will be) that Day
لِّلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
for the criminals
وَيَقُولُونَ
and they will say
حِجۡرًا
A partition
مَّحۡجُورًا
forbidden
٢٢
The day they see the angels1 - no good tidings will there be that day for the criminals, and [the angels] will say, "Prevented and inaccessible."2
25:23
وَقَدِمۡنَآ
And We will proceed
إِلَىٰ
to
مَا
whatever
عَمِلُواۡ
they did
مِنۡ
of
عَمَلٍ
(the) deed(s)
فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُ
and We will make them
هَبَآءً
(as) dust
مَّنثُورًا
dispersed
٢٣
And We will approach [i.e., regard]1 what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed.
25:24
أَصۡحَـٰبُ
(The) companions
ٱلۡجَنَّةِ
(of) Paradise
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
خَيۡرٌ
(will be in) a better
مُّسۡتَقَرًّا
abode
وَأَحۡسَنُ
and a better
مَقِيلاً
resting-place
٢٤
The companions of Paradise, that Day, are [in] a better settlement and better resting place.
25:25
وَيَوۡمَ
And (the) Day
تَشَقَّقُ
will split open
ٱلسَّمَآءُ
the heavens
بِٱلۡغَمَـٰمِ
with the clouds
وَنُزِّلَ
and (will be) sent down
ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ
the Angels
تَنزِيلاً
descending
٢٥
And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds,1 and the angels will be sent down in successive descent.
25:26
ٱلۡمُلۡكُ
The Sovereignty
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
ٱلۡحَقُّ
(will be) truly
لِلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ‌ۚ
for the Most Gracious
وَكَانَ
And (it will) be
يَوۡمًا
a Day
عَلَى
for
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
the disbelievers
عَسِيرًا
difficult
٢٦
True sovereignty, that Day, is for the Most Merciful. And it will be upon the disbelievers a difficult Day.
25:27
وَيَوۡمَ
And (the) Day
يَعَضُّ
will bite
ٱلظَّالِمُ
the wrongdoer
عَلَىٰ
[on]
يَدَيۡهِ
his hands
يَقُولُ
he will say
يَـٰلَيۡتَنِى
O I wish
ٱتَّخَذۡتُ
I had taken
مَعَ
with
ٱلرَّسُولِ
the Messenger
سَبِيلاً
a way
٢٧
And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, "Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way.1
25:28
يَـٰوَيۡلَتَىٰ
O woe to me
لَيۡتَنِى
I wish
لَمۡ
not
أَتَّخِذۡ
I had taken
فُلَانًا
that one
خَلِيلاً
(as) a friend
٢٨
Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one1 as a friend.
25:29
لَّقَدۡ
Verily
أَضَلَّنِى
he led me astray
عَنِ
from
ٱلذِّكۡرِ
the Reminder
بَعۡدَ
after
إِذۡ
[when]
جَآءَنِى‌ۗ
it (had) come to me
وَكَانَ
And is
ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنُ
the Shaitaan
لِلۡإِنسَـٰنِ
to the man
خَذُولاً
a deserter
٢٩
He led me away from the remembrance1 after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter."2
25:30
وَقَالَ
And said
ٱلرَّسُولُ
the Messenger
يَـٰرَبِّ
O my Lord
إِنَّ
Indeed
قَوۡمِى
my people
ٱتَّخَذُواۡ
took
هَـٰذَا
this
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ
the Quran
مَهۡجُورًا
(as) a forsaken thing
٣٠
And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur’ān as [a thing] abandoned."1
25:31
وَكَذٰلِكَ
And thus
جَعَلۡنَا
We have made
لِكُلِّ
for every
نَبِىٍّ
Prophet
عَدُوًّا
an enemy
مِّنَ
among
ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ‌ۗ
the criminals
وَكَفَىٰ
But sufficient is
بِرَبِّكَ
your Lord
هَادِيًا
(as) a Guide
وَنَصِيرًا
and a Helper
٣١
And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper.
25:32
وَقَالَ
And said
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
لَوۡلَا
Why not
نُزِّلَ
was revealed
عَلَيۡهِ
to him
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ
the Quran
جُمۡلَةً
all at once
وٰحِدَةً‌ۚ
all at once
كَذٰلِكَ
Thus
لِنُثَبِّتَ
that We may strengthen
بِهِۦ
thereby
فُؤَادَكَ‌ۖ
your heart
وَرَتَّلۡنَـٰهُ
and We have recited it
تَرۡتِيلاً
(with distinct) recitation
٣٢
And those who disbelieve say, "Why was the Qur’ān not revealed to him all at once?" Thus [it is] that We may strengthen thereby your heart. And We have spaced it distinctly.1
25:33
وَلَا
And not
يَأۡتُونَكَ
they come to you
بِمَثَلٍ
with an example
إِلَّا
but
جِئۡنَـٰكَ
We bring you
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
the truth
وَأَحۡسَنَ
and (the) best
تَفۡسِيرًا
explanation
٣٣
And they do not come to you with an example [i.e., argument] except that We bring you the truth and the best explanation.
25:34
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
يُحۡشَرُونَ
will be gathered
عَلَىٰ
on
وُجُوهِهِمۡ
their faces
إِلَىٰ
to
جَهَنَّمَ
Hell
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
those
شَرٌّ
(are the) worst
مَّكَانًا
(in) position
وَأَضَلُّ
and most astray
سَبِيلاً
(from the) way
٣٤
The ones who are gathered on their faces to Hell - those are the worst in position and farthest astray in [their] way.
25:35
وَلَقَدۡ
And verily
ءَاتَيۡنَا
We gave
مُوسَى
Musa
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ
the Scripture
وَجَعَلۡنَا
and We appointed
مَعَهُۥٓ
with him
أَخَاهُ
his brother
هَـٰرُونَ
Harun
وَزِيرًا
(as) an assistant
٣٥
And We had certainly given Moses the Scripture and appointed with him his brother Aaron as an assistant.
25:36
فَقُلۡنَا
Then We said
ٱذۡهَبَآ
Go both of you
إِلَى
to
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
the people
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَذَّبُواۡ
have denied
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا
Our Signs
فَدَمَّرۡنَـٰهُمۡ
Then We destroyed them
تَدۡمِيرًا
(with) destruction
٣٦
And We said, "Go both of you to the people who have denied Our signs." Then We destroyed them with [complete] destruction.
25:37
وَقَوۡمَ
And (the) people
نُوحٍ
(of) Nuh
لَّمَّا
when
كَذَّبُواۡ
they denied
ٱلرُّسُلَ
the Messengers
أَغۡرَقۡنَـٰهُمۡ
We drowned them
وَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ
and We made them
لِلنَّاسِ
for mankind
ءَايَةً‌ۖ
a sign
وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا
And We have prepared
لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
for the wrongdoers
عَذَابًا
a punishment
أَلِيمًا
painful
٣٧
And the people of Noah - when they denied the messengers,1 We drowned them, and We made them for mankind a sign. And We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment.
25:38
وَعَادًا
And Ad
وَثَمُودَاۡ
and Thamud
وَأَصۡحَـٰبَ
and (the) dwellers
ٱلرَّسِّ
(of) Ar-rass
وَقُرُونَۢا
and generations
بَيۡنَ
between
ذٰلِكَ
that
كَثِيرًا
many
٣٨
And [We destroyed] ʿAad and Thamūd and the companions of the well1 and many generations between them.
25:39
وَكُلاًّ
And each
ضَرَبۡنَا
We have set forth
لَهُ
for him
ٱلۡأَمۡثَـٰلَ‌ۖ
the examples
وَكُلاًّ
and each
تَبَّرۡنَا
We destroyed
تَتۡبِيرًا
(with) destruction
٣٩
And for each We presented examples [as warnings], and each We destroyed with [total] destruction.
25:40
وَلَقَدۡ
And verily
أَتَوۡاۡ
they have come
عَلَى
upon
ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ
the town
ٱلَّتِىٓ
which
أُمۡطِرَتۡ
was showered
مَطَرَ
(with) a rain
ٱلسَّوۡءِ‌ۚ
(of) evil
أَفَلَمۡ
Then do not
يَكُونُواۡ
they [were]
يَرَوۡنَهَا‌ۚ
see it
بَلۡ
Nay
كَانُواۡ
they are
لَا
not
يَرۡجُونَ
expecting
نُشُورًا
Resurrection
٤٠
And they have already come upon the town which was showered with a rain of evil [i.e., stones]. So have they not seen it? But they are not expecting resurrection.1
25:41
وَإِذَا
And when
رَأَوۡكَ
they see you
إِن
not
يَتَّخِذُونَكَ
they take you
إِلَّا
except
هُزُوًا
(in) mockery
أَهَـٰذَا
Is this
ٱلَّذِى
the one whom
بَعَثَ
Allah has sent
ٱللَّهُ
Allah has sent
رَسُولاً
(as) a Messenger
٤١
And when they see you, [O Muḥammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one whom Allāh has sent as a messenger?
25:42
إِن
He would have almost
كَادَ
He would have almost
لَيُضِلُّنَا
[surely] misled us
عَنۡ
from
ءَالِهَتِنَا
our gods
لَوۡلَآ
if not
أَن
that
صَبَرۡنَا
we had been steadfast
عَلَيۡهَا‌ۚ
to them
وَسَوۡفَ
And soon
يَعۡلَمُونَ
will know
حِينَ
when
يَرَوۡنَ
they will see
ٱلۡعَذَابَ
the punishment
مَنۡ
who
أَضَلُّ
(is) more astray
سَبِيلاً
(from the) way
٤٢
He almost would have misled us from our gods had we not been steadfast in [worship of] them." But they are going to know, when they see the punishment, who is farthest astray in [his] way.
25:43
أَرَءَيۡتَ
Have you seen
مَنِ
(one) who
ٱتَّخَذَ
takes
إِلَـٰهَهُۥ
(as) his god
هَوَٮٰهُ
his own desire
أَفَأَنتَ
Then would you
تَكُونُ
be
عَلَيۡهِ
over him
وَكِيلاً
a guardian
٤٣
Have you seen the one who takes as his god his own desire? Then would you be responsible for him?
25:44
أَمۡ
Or
تَحۡسَبُ
do you think
أَنَّ
that
أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ
most of them
يَسۡمَعُونَ
hear
أَوۡ
or
يَعۡقِلُونَ‌ۚ
understand
إِنۡ
Not
هُمۡ
they
إِلَّا
(are) except
كَٱلۡأَنۡعَـٰمِ‌ۖ
like cattle
بَلۡ
Nay
هُمۡ
they
أَضَلُّ
(are) more astray
سَبِيلاً
(from the) way
٤٤
Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are not except like livestock.1 Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way.
25:45
أَلَمۡ
Do you not
تَرَ
see
إِلَىٰ
[to]
رَبِّكَ
your Lord
كَيۡفَ
how
مَدَّ
He extends
ٱلظِّلَّ
the shadow
وَلَوۡ
And if
شَآءَ
He willed
لَجَعَلَهُۥ
surely He (could) have made it
سَاكِنًا
stationary
ثُمَّ
Then
جَعَلۡنَا
We made
ٱلشَّمۡسَ
the sun
عَلَيۡهِ
for it
دَلِيلاً
an indication
٤٥
Have you not considered your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication.1
25:46
ثُمَّ
Then
قَبَضۡنَـٰهُ
We withdraw it
إِلَيۡنَا
to Us
قَبۡضًا
a withdrawal
يَسِيرًا
gradual
٤٦
Then We [retract and] hold it with Us for a brief grasp.1
25:47
وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
جَعَلَ
made
لَكُمُ
for you
ٱلَّيۡلَ
the night
لِبَاسًا
(as) a covering
وَٱلنَّوۡمَ
and the sleep
سُبَاتًا
a rest
وَجَعَلَ
and made
ٱلنَّهَارَ
the day
نُشُورًا
a resurrection
٤٧
And it is He who has made the night for you as clothing1 and sleep [a means for] rest and has made the day a resurrection.2
25:48
وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلَّذِىٓ
(is) the One Who
أَرۡسَلَ
sends
ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ
the winds
بُشۡرَۢا
(as) glad tidings
بَيۡنَ
before
يَدَىۡ
before
رَحۡمَتِهِۦ‌ۚ
His Mercy
وَأَنزَلۡنَا
and We send down
مِنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
مَآءً
water
طَهُورًا
pure
٤٨
And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy [i.e., rainfall], and We send down from the sky pure water
25:49
لِّنُحۡــِۧىَ
That We may give life
بِهِۦ
thereby
بَلۡدَةً
(to) a land
مَّيۡتًا
dead
وَنُسۡقِيَهُۥ
and We give drink
مِمَّا
thereof
خَلَقۡنَآ
(to those) We created
أَنۡعَـٰمًا
cattle
وَأَنَاسِىَّ
and men
كَثِيرًا
many
٤٩
That We may bring to life thereby a dead land and give it as drink to those We created of numerous livestock and men.
25:50
وَلَقَدۡ
And verily
صَرَّفۡنَـٰهُ
We have distributed it
بَيۡنَهُمۡ
among them
لِيَذَّكَّرُواۡ
that they may remember
فَأَبَىٰٓ
but refuse
أَكۡثَرُ
most
ٱلنَّاسِ
(of) the people
إِلَّا
except
كُفُورًا
disbelief
٥٠
And We have certainly distributed it among them that they might be reminded,1 but most of the people refuse except disbelief.
25:51
وَلَوۡ
And if
شِئۡنَا
We willed
لَبَعَثۡنَا
surely, We (would) have raised
فِى
in
كُلِّ
every
قَرۡيَةٍ
town
نَّذِيرًا
a warner
٥١
And if We had willed, We could have sent into every city a warner.1
25:52
فَلَا
So (do) not
تُطِعِ
obey
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
the disbelievers
وَجَـٰهِدۡهُم
and strive (against) them
بِهِۦ
with it
جِهَادًا
a striving
كَبِيرًا
great
٥٢
So do not obey the disbelievers, and strive against them with it [i.e., the Qur’ān] a great striving.
25:53
۞وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
مَرَجَ
(has) released
ٱلۡبَحۡرَيۡنِ
the two seas
هَـٰذَا
[this] (one)
عَذۡبٌ
palatable
فُرَاتٌ
and sweet
وَهَـٰذَا
and [this] (one)
مِلۡحٌ
salty
أُجَاجٌ
(and) bitter
وَجَعَلَ
and He has made
بَيۡنَهُمَا
between them
بَرۡزَخًا
a barrier
وَحِجۡرًا
and a partition
مَّحۡجُورًا
forbidden
٥٣
And it is He who has released [simultaneously] the two seas [i.e., bodies of water], one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition.
25:54
وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
خَلَقَ
has created
مِنَ
from
ٱلۡمَآءِ
the water
بَشَرًا
human being
فَجَعَلَهُۥ
and has made (for) him
نَسَبًا
blood relationship
وَصِهۡرًا‌ۗ
and marriage relationship
وَكَانَ
And is
رَبُّكَ
your Lord
قَدِيرًا
All-Powerful
٥٤
And it is He who has created from water [i.e., semen] a human being and made him [a relative by] lineage and marriage. And ever is your Lord competent [concerning creation].
25:55
وَيَعۡبُدُونَ
But they worship
مِن
besides Allah
دُونِ
besides Allah
ٱللَّهِ
besides Allah
مَا
what
لَا
not profits them
يَنفَعُهُمۡ
not profits them
وَلَا
and not
يَضُرُّهُمۡ‌ۗ
harms them
وَكَانَ
and is
ٱلۡكَافِرُ
the disbeliever
عَلَىٰ
against
رَبِّهِۦ
his Lord
ظَهِيرًا
a helper
٥٥
But they worship rather than Allāh that which does not benefit them or harm them, and the disbeliever is ever, against his Lord, an assistant [to Satan].
25:56
وَمَآ
And not
أَرۡسَلۡنَـٰكَ
We sent you
إِلَّا
except
مُبَشِّرًا
(as) a bearer of glad tidings
وَنَذِيرًا
and a warner
٥٦
And We have not sent you, [O Muḥammad], except as a bringer of good tidings and a warner.
25:57
قُلۡ
Say
مَآ
Not
أَسۡــَٔلُكُمۡ
I ask (of) you
عَلَيۡهِ
for it
مِنۡ
any
أَجۡرٍ
payment
إِلَّا
except
مَن
(that) whoever wills
شَآءَ
(that) whoever wills
أَن
to
يَتَّخِذَ
take
إِلَىٰ
to
رَبِّهِۦ
his Lord
سَبِيلاً
a way
٥٧
Say, "I do not ask of you for it any payment - only that whoever wills might take to his Lord a way."
25:58
وَتَوَكَّلۡ
And put your trust
عَلَى
in
ٱلۡحَىِّ
the Ever-Living
ٱلَّذِى
the One Who
لَا
does not die
يَمُوتُ
does not die
وَسَبِّحۡ
and glorify
بِحَمۡدِهِۦ‌ۚ
with His Praise
وَكَفَىٰ
And sufficient is
بِهِۦ
He
بِذُنُوبِ
regarding the sins
عِبَادِهِۦ
(of) His slaves
خَبِيرًا
All-Aware
٥٨
And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die, and exalt [Allāh] with His praise. And sufficient is He to be, with the sins of His servants, [fully] Aware -
25:59
ٱلَّذِى
The One Who
خَلَقَ
created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ
and the earth
وَمَا
and whatever
بَيۡنَهُمَا
(is) between them
فِى
in
سِتَّةِ
six
أَيَّامٍ
periods
ثُمَّ
then
ٱسۡتَوَىٰ
He established Himself
عَلَى
over
ٱلۡعَرۡشِ‌ۚ
the Throne
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ
the Most Gracious
فَسۡــَٔلۡ
so ask
بِهِۦ
Him
خَبِيرًا
(as He is) All-Aware
٥٩
He who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days and then established Himself above the Throne1 - the Most Merciful, so ask about Him one well informed [i.e., the Prophet (ﷺ)].
25:60
وَإِذَا
And when
قِيلَ
it is said
لَهُمُ
to them
ٱسۡجُدُواۡ
Prostrate
لِلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ
to the Most Gracious
قَالُواۡ
They say
وَمَا
And what
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ
(is) the Most Gracious
أَنَسۡجُدُ
Should we prostrate
لِمَا
to what
تَأۡمُرُنَا
you order us
وَزَادَهُمۡ
And it increases them
نُفُورًا
(in) aversion
۩
And when it is said to them, "Prostrate to the Most Merciful," they say, "And what is the Most Merciful? Should we prostrate to that which you order us?" And it increases them in aversion.
25:61
تَبَارَكَ
Blessed is He
ٱلَّذِى
Who
جَعَلَ
has placed
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the skies
بُرُوجًا
constellations
وَجَعَلَ
and has placed
فِيهَا
therein
سِرٰجًا
a lamp
وَقَمَرًا
and a moon
مُّنِيرًا
shining
٦١
Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon.
25:62
وَهُوَ
And He
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
جَعَلَ
made
ٱلَّيۡلَ
the night
وَٱلنَّهَارَ
and the day
خِلۡفَةً
(in) succession
لِّمَنۡ
for whoever
أَرَادَ
desires
أَن
to
يَذَّكَّرَ
remember
أَوۡ
or
أَرَادَ
desires
شُكُورًا
to be thankful
٦٢
And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or desires gratitude.
25:63
وَعِبَادُ
And (the) slaves
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ
(of) the Most Gracious
ٱلَّذِينَ
(are) those who
يَمۡشُونَ
walk
عَلَى
on
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
هَوۡنًا
(in) humbleness
وَإِذَا
and when
خَاطَبَهُمُ
address them
ٱلۡجَـٰهِلُونَ
the ignorant ones
قَالُواۡ
they say
سَلَـٰمًا
Peace
٦٣
And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily,1 and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace,2
25:64
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
يَبِيتُونَ
spend (the) night
لِرَبِّهِمۡ
before their Lord
سُجَّدًا
prostrating
وَقِيَـٰمًا
and standing
٦٤
And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]
25:65
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
يَقُولُونَ
say
رَبَّنَا
Our Lord
ٱصۡرِفۡ
Avert
عَنَّا
from us
عَذَابَ
the punishment
جَهَنَّمَ‌ۖ
(of) Hell
إِنَّ
Indeed
عَذَابَهَا
its punishment
كَانَ
is
غَرَامًا
inseparable
٦٥
And those who say, "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering;
25:66
إِنَّهَا
Indeed, it
سَآءَتۡ
(is) an evil
مُسۡتَقَرًّا
abode
وَمُقَامًا
and resting place
٦٦
Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence."
25:67
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
إِذَآ
when
أَنفَقُواۡ
they spend
لَمۡ
(are) not extravagant
يُسۡرِفُواۡ
(are) not extravagant
وَلَمۡ
and are not stingy
يَقۡتُرُواۡ
and are not stingy
وَكَانَ
but are
بَيۡنَ
between
ذٰلِكَ
that
قَوَامًا
moderate
٦٧
And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderate
25:68
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
لَا
(do) not
يَدۡعُونَ
invoke
مَعَ
with
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
إِلَـٰهًا
god
ءَاخَرَ
another
وَلَا
and (do) not
يَقۡتُلُونَ
[they] kill
ٱلنَّفۡسَ
the soul
ٱلَّتِى
which
حَرَّمَ
Allah has forbidden
ٱللَّهُ
Allah has forbidden
إِلَّا
except
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
by right
وَلَا
and (do) not
يَزۡنُونَ‌ۚ
commit unlawful sexual intercourse
وَمَن
And whoever
يَفۡعَلۡ
does
ذٰلِكَ
that
يَلۡقَ
will meet
أَثَامًا
a penalty
٦٨
And those who do not invoke1 with Allāh another deity or kill the soul which Allāh has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty.
25:69
يُضَـٰعَفۡ
Will be doubled
لَهُ
for him
ٱلۡعَذَابُ
the punishment
يَوۡمَ
(on the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ
(of) Resurrection
وَيَخۡلُدۡ
and he will abide forever
فِيهِۦ
therein
مُهَانًا
humiliated
٦٩
Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated -
25:70
إِلَّا
Except
مَن
(he) who
تَابَ
repents
وَءَامَنَ
and believes
وَعَمِلَ
and does
عَمَلاً
righteous deeds
صَـٰلِحًا
righteous deeds
فَأُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
then (for) those
يُبَدِّلُ
Allah will replace
ٱللَّهُ
Allah will replace
سَيِّـَٔـاتِهِمۡ
their evil deeds
حَسَنَـٰتٍ‌ۗ
(with) good ones
وَكَانَ
And is
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
غَفُورًا
Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمًا
Most Merciful
٧٠
Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allāh will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allāh Forgiving and Merciful.
25:71
وَمَن
And whoever
تَابَ
repents
وَعَمِلَ
and does
صَـٰلِحًا
righteous (deeds)
فَإِنَّهُۥ
then indeed, he
يَتُوبُ
turns
إِلَى
to
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
مَتَابًا
(with) repentance
٧١
And he who repents and does righteousness does indeed turn to Allāh with [accepted] repentance.
25:72
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
لَا
(do) not
يَشۡهَدُونَ
bear witness
ٱلزُّورَ
(to) the falsehood
وَإِذَا
and when
مَرُّواۡ
they pass
بِٱللَّغۡوِ
by futility
مَرُّواۡ
they pass
كِرَامًا
(as) dignified ones
٧٢
And [they are] those who do not testify to falsehood, and when they pass near ill speech, they pass by with dignity.
25:73
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
إِذَا
when
ذُكِّرُواۡ
they are reminded
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِ
of (the) Verses
رَبِّهِمۡ
(of) their Lord
لَمۡ
(do) not
يَخِرُّواۡ
fall
عَلَيۡهَا
upon them
صُمًّا
deaf
وَعُمۡيَانًا
and blind
٧٣
And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind.
25:74
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
يَقُولُونَ
say
رَبَّنَا
Our Lord
هَبۡ
Grant
لَنَا
to us
مِنۡ
from
أَزۡوٰجِنَا
our spouses
وَذُرِّيَّـٰتِنَا
and our offspring
قُرَّةَ
comfort
أَعۡيُنٍ
(to) our eyes
وَٱجۡعَلۡنَا
and make us
لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ
for the righteous
إِمَامًا
a leader
٧٤
And those who say, "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes1 and make us a leader [i.e., example] for the righteous."
25:75
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
Those
يُجۡزَوۡنَ
will be awarded
ٱلۡغُرۡفَةَ
the Chamber
بِمَا
because
صَبَرُواۡ
they were patient
وَيُلَقَّوۡنَ
and they will be met
فِيهَا
therein
تَحِيَّةً
(with) greetings
وَسَلَـٰمًا
and peace
٧٥
Those will be awarded the Chamber1 for what they patiently endured, and they will be received therein with greetings and [words of] peace,
25:76
خَـٰلِدِينَ
Will abide forever
فِيهَا‌ۚ
in it
حَسُنَتۡ
Good
مُسۡتَقَرًّا
(is) the settlement
وَمُقَامًا
and a resting place
٧٦
Abiding eternally therein. Good is the settlement and residence.
25:77
قُلۡ
Say
مَا
Not
يَعۡبَؤُاۡ
will care
بِكُمۡ
for you
رَبِّى
my Lord
لَوۡلَا
if not
دُعَآؤُكُمۡ‌ۖ
your prayer (is to Him)
فَقَدۡ
But verily
كَذَّبۡتُمۡ
you have denied
فَسَوۡفَ
so soon
يَكُونُ
will be
لِزَامَۢا
the inevitable (punishment)
٧٧
Say, "What would my Lord care for you if not for your supplication?"1 For you [disbelievers] have denied, so it [i.e., your denial] is going to be adherent.2
26:1
طسٓمٓ
Ta Seem Meem
١
Ṭā, Seen, Meem.1
26:2
تِلۡكَ
These
ءَايَـٰتُ
(are the) Verses
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ
(of) the Book
ٱلۡمُبِينِ
clear
٢
These are the verses of the clear Book.
26:3
لَعَلَّكَ
Perhaps you
بَـٰخِعٌ
(would) kill
نَّفۡسَكَ
yourself
أَلَّا
that not
يَكُونُواۡ
they become
مُؤۡمِنِينَ
believers
٣
Perhaps, [O Muḥammad], you would kill yourself with grief that they will not be believers.
26:4
إِن
If
نَّشَأۡ
We will
نُنَزِّلۡ
We can send down
عَلَيۡهِم
to them
مِّنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
ءَايَةً
a Sign
فَظَلَّتۡ
so would bend
أَعۡنَـٰقُهُمۡ
their necks
لَهَا
to it
خَـٰضِعِينَ
(in) humility
٤
If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled.1
26:5
وَمَا
And (does) not
يَأۡتِيهِم
come to them
مِّن
any
ذِكۡرٍ
reminder
مِّنَ
from
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ
the Most Gracious
مُحۡدَثٍ
new
إِلَّا
but
كَانُواۡ
they
عَنۡهُ
from it
مُعۡرِضِينَ
turn away
٥
And no mention [i.e., revelation] comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it.
26:6
فَقَدۡ
So verily
كَذَّبُواۡ
they have denied
فَسَيَأۡتِيهِمۡ
then will come to them
أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُاۡ
the news
مَا
(of) what
كَانُواۡ
they used
بِهِۦ
at it
يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
(to) mock
٦
For they have already denied, but there will come to them the news of that which they used to ridicule.
26:7
أَوَلَمۡ
Do not
يَرَوۡاۡ
they see
إِلَى
at
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
كَمۡ
how many
أَنۢبَتۡنَا
We produced
فِيهَا
in it
مِن
of
كُلِّ
every
زَوۡجٍ
kind
كَرِيمٍ
noble
٧
Did they not look at the earth - how much We have produced therein from every noble kind?
26:8
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
ذٰلِكَ
that
لَأَيَةً‌ۖ
surely (is) a sign
وَمَا
but not
كَانَ
are
أَكۡثَرُهُم
most of them
مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
believers
٨
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
26:9
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
لَهُوَ
surely, He
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
the Most Merciful
٩
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
26:10
وَإِذۡ
And when
نَادَىٰ
your Lord called
رَبُّكَ
your Lord called
مُوسَىٰٓ
Musa
أَنِ
[that]
ٱئۡتِ
Go
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
(to) the people
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
(who are) wrongdoers
١٠
And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people -
26:11
قَوۡمَ
(The) people
فِرۡعَوۡنَ‌ۚ
(of) Firaun
أَلَا
Will not
يَتَّقُونَ
they fear
١١
The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allāh?"
26:12
قَالَ
He said
رَبِّ
My Lord
إِنِّىٓ
Indeed, I
أَخَافُ
[I] fear
أَن
that
يُكَذِّبُونِ
they will deny me
١٢
He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me
26:13
وَيَضِيقُ
And straitens
صَدۡرِى
my breast
وَلَا
and not
يَنطَلِقُ
expresses well
لِسَانِى
my tongue
فَأَرۡسِلۡ
so send
إِلَىٰ
for
هَـٰرُونَ
Harun
١٣
And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron.
26:14
وَلَهُمۡ
And they have
عَلَىَّ
against me
ذَنۢبٌ
a crime
فَأَخَافُ
so I fear
أَن
that
يَقۡتُلُونِ
they will kill me
١٤
And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me."
26:15
قَالَ
He said
كَلَّا‌ۖ
Nay
فَٱذۡهَبَا
go both of you
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَآ‌ۖ
with Our Signs
إِنَّا
Indeed, We
مَعَكُم
(are) with you
مُّسۡتَمِعُونَ
listening
١٥
[Allāh] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening.
26:16
فَأۡتِيَا
So go both of you
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
(to) Firaun
فَقُولَآ
and say
إِنَّا
'Indeed, we
رَسُولُ
(are the) Messenger
رَبِّ
(of the) Lord
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
(of) the worlds
١٦
Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers1 of the Lord of the worlds,
26:17
أَنۡ
[That]
أَرۡسِلۡ
send
مَعَنَا
with us
بَنِىٓ
(the) Children of Israel.'
إِسۡرٰٓءِيلَ
(the) Children of Israel.'
١٧
[Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'"
26:18
قَالَ
He said
أَلَمۡ
Did not
نُرَبِّكَ
we bring you up
فِينَا
among us
وَلِيدًا
(as) a child
وَلَبِثۡتَ
and you remained
فِينَا
among us
مِنۡ
of
عُمُرِكَ
your life
سِنِينَ
years
١٨
[Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life?
26:19
وَفَعَلۡتَ
And you did
فَعۡلَتَكَ
your deed
ٱلَّتِى
which
فَعَلۡتَ
you did
وَأَنتَ
and you
مِنَ
(were) of
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
the ungrateful
١٩
And [then] you did your deed which you did,1 and you were of the ungrateful."
26:20
قَالَ
He said
فَعَلۡتُهَآ
I did it
إِذًا
when
وَأَنَاۡ
I
مِنَ
(was) of
ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
those who are astray
٢٠
[Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray [i.e., ignorant].
26:21
فَفَرَرۡتُ
So I fled
مِنكُمۡ
from you
لَمَّا
when
خِفۡتُكُمۡ
I feared you
فَوَهَبَ
But granted
لِى
to me
رَبِّى
my Lord
حُكۡمًا
judgment
وَجَعَلَنِى
and made me
مِنَ
of
ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
the Messengers
٢١
So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me judgement [i.e., wisdom and prophet hood] and appointed me [as one] of the messengers.
26:22
وَتِلۡكَ
And this
نِعۡمَةٌ
(is the) favor
تَمُنُّهَا
with which you reproach
عَلَىَّ
[on] me
أَنۡ
that
عَبَّدتَّ
you have enslaved
بَنِىٓ
(the) Children of Israel
إِسۡرٰٓءِيلَ
(the) Children of Israel
٢٢
And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?"
26:23
قَالَ
Firaun said
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
Firaun said
وَمَا
And what
رَبُّ
(is the) Lord
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
(of) the worlds
٢٣
Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?"
26:24
قَالَ
He said
رَبُّ
Lord
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
and the earth
وَمَا
and whatever
بَيۡنَهُمَآ‌ۖ
(is) between them
إِن
if
كُنتُم
you (should) be
مُّوقِنِينَ
convinced
٢٤
[Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced."
26:25
قَالَ
He said
لِمَنۡ
to those
حَوۡلَهُۥٓ
around him
أَلَا
Do not
تَسۡتَمِعُونَ
you hear
٢٥
[Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?"
26:26
قَالَ
He said
رَبُّكُمۡ
Your Lord
وَرَبُّ
and (the) Lord
ءَابَآئِكُمُ
(of) your forefathers
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
(of) your forefathers
٢٦
[Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers."
26:27
قَالَ
He said
إِنَّ
Indeed
رَسُولَكُمُ
your Messenger
ٱلَّذِىٓ
who
أُرۡسِلَ
has been sent
إِلَيۡكُمۡ
to you
لَمَجۡنُونٌ
(is) surely mad
٢٧
[Pharaoh] said,1 "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad."
26:28
قَالَ
He said
رَبُّ
Lord
ٱلۡمَشۡرِقِ
(of) the east
وَٱلۡمَغۡرِبِ
and the west
وَمَا
and whatever
بَيۡنَهُمَآ‌ۖ
(is) between them
إِن
if
كُنتُمۡ
you were
تَعۡقِلُونَ
(to) reason
٢٨
[Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason."
26:29
قَالَ
He said
لَئِنِ
If
ٱتَّخَذۡتَ
you take
إِلَـٰهًا
a god
غَيۡرِى
other than me
لَأَجۡعَلَنَّكَ
I will surely make you
مِنَ
among
ٱلۡمَسۡجُونِينَ
those imprisoned
٢٩
[Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned."
26:30
قَالَ
He said
أَوَلَوۡ
Even if
جِئۡتُكَ
I bring you
بِشَىۡءٍ
something
مُّبِينٍ
manifest
٣٠
[Moses] said, "Even if I brought you something [i.e., proof] manifest?"
26:31
قَالَ
He said
فَأۡتِ
Then bring
بِهِۦٓ
it
إِن
if
كُنتَ
you are
مِنَ
of
ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
the truthful
٣١
[Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful."
26:32
فَأَلۡقَىٰ
So he threw
عَصَاهُ
his staff
فَإِذَا
and behold
هِىَ
It
ثُعۡبَانٌ
(was) a serpent
مُّبِينٌ
manifest
٣٢
So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest.1
26:33
وَنَزَعَ
And he drew out
يَدَهُۥ
his hand
فَإِذَا
and behold
هِىَ
It
بَيۡضَآءُ
(was) white
لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ
for the observers
٣٣
And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers.
26:34
قَالَ
He said
لِلۡمَلَإِ
to the chiefs
حَوۡلَهُۥٓ
around him
إِنَّ
Indeed
هَـٰذَا
this
لَسَـٰحِرٌ
(is) surely a magician
عَلِيمٌ
learned
٣٤
[Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, "Indeed, this is a learned magician.
26:35
يُرِيدُ
He wants
أَن
to
يُخۡرِجَكُم
drive you out
مِّنۡ
from
أَرۡضِكُم
your land
بِسِحۡرِهِۦ
by his magic
فَمَاذَا
so what
تَأۡمُرُونَ
(do) you advise
٣٥
He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise?"
26:36
قَالُوٓاۡ
They said
أَرۡجِهۡ
Postpone him
وَأَخَاهُ
and his brother
وَٱبۡعَثۡ
and send
فِى
in
ٱلۡمَدَآئِنِ
the cities
حَـٰشِرِينَ
gatherers
٣٦
They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers
26:37
يَأۡتُوكَ
They (will) bring to you
بِكُلِّ
every
سَحَّارٍ
magician
عَلِيمٍ
learned
٣٧
Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician."
26:38
فَجُمِعَ
So were assembled
ٱلسَّحَرَةُ
the magicians
لِمِيقَـٰتِ
for (the) appointment
يَوۡمٍ
(on) a day
مَّعۡلُومٍ
well-known
٣٨
So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day.1
26:39
وَقِيلَ
And it was said
لِلنَّاسِ
to the people
هَلۡ
Will
أَنتُم
you
مُّجۡتَمِعُونَ
assemble
٣٩
And it was said to the people, "Will you congregate.
26:40
لَعَلَّنَا
That we may
نَتَّبِعُ
follow
ٱلسَّحَرَةَ
the magicians
إِن
if
كَانُواۡ
they are
هُمُ
they are
ٱلۡغَـٰلِبِينَ
the victorious
٤٠
That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant?"
26:41
فَلَمَّا
So when
جَآءَ
came
ٱلسَّحَرَةُ
the magicians
قَالُواۡ
they said
لِفِرۡعَوۡنَ
to Firaun
أَئِنَّ
Is there
لَنَا
for us
لَأَجۡرًا
a reward
إِن
if
كُنَّا
we are
نَحۡنُ
we are
ٱلۡغَـٰلِبِينَ
the victorious
٤١
And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant?"
