Hizb 34

1 Surahs78 Versesالحزب 34
22:1
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
O mankind
ٱلنَّاسُ
O mankind
ٱتَّقُواۡ
Fear
رَبَّكُمۡ‌ۚ
your Lord
إِنَّ
Indeed
زَلۡزَلَةَ
(the) convulsion
ٱلسَّاعَةِ
(of) the Hour
شَىۡءٌ
(is) a thing
عَظِيمٌ
great
١
O mankind, fear your Lord. Indeed, the convulsion of the [final] Hour is a terrible thing.
22:2
يَوۡمَ
(The) Day
تَرَوۡنَهَا
you will see it
تَذۡهَلُ
will forget
كُلُّ
every
مُرۡضِعَةٍ
nursing mother
عَمَّآ
that which
أَرۡضَعَتۡ
she was nursing
وَتَضَعُ
and will deliver
كُلُّ
every
ذَاتِ
pregnant woman
حَمۡلٍ
pregnant woman
حَمۡلَهَا
her load
وَتَرَى
and you will see
ٱلنَّاسَ
[the] mankind
سُكَـٰرَىٰ
intoxicated
وَمَا
while not
هُم
they
بِسُكَـٰرَىٰ
(are) intoxicated
وَلَـٰكِنَّ
but
عَذَابَ
(the) punishment
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
شَدِيدٌ
(will be) severe
٢
On the Day you see it every nursing mother will be distracted from that [child] she was nursing, and every pregnant woman will abort her pregnancy, and you will see the people [appearing] intoxicated while they are not intoxicated; but the punishment of Allāh is severe.
22:3
وَمِنَ
And among
ٱلنَّاسِ
the mankind
مَن
(is he) who
يُجَـٰدِلُ
disputes
فِى
concerning
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
بِغَيۡرِ
without
عِلۡمٍ
knowledge
وَيَتَّبِعُ
and follows
كُلَّ
every
شَيۡطَـٰنٍ
devil
مَّرِيدٍ
rebellious
٣
And of the people is he who disputes about Allāh without knowledge and follows every rebellious devil.
22:4
كُتِبَ
It has been decreed
عَلَيۡهِ
for him
أَنَّهُۥ
that he
مَن
who
تَوَلَّاهُ
befriends him
فَأَنَّهُۥ
then indeed, he
يُضِلُّهُۥ
will misguide him
وَيَهۡدِيهِ
and will guide him
إِلَىٰ
to
عَذَابِ
(the) punishment
ٱلسَّعِيرِ
(of) the Blaze
٤
It has been decreed for him [i.e., every devil] that whoever turns to him - he will misguide him and will lead him to the punishment of the Blaze.
22:5
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
O mankind
ٱلنَّاسُ
O mankind
إِن
If
كُنتُمۡ
you are
فِى
in
رَيۡبٍ
doubt
مِّنَ
about
ٱلۡبَعۡثِ
the Resurrection
فَإِنَّا
then indeed, We
خَلَقۡنَـٰكُم
We created you
مِّن
from
تُرَابٍ
dust
ثُمَّ
then
مِن
from
نُّطۡفَةٍ
a semen-drop
ثُمَّ
then
مِنۡ
from
عَلَقَةٍ
a clinging substance
ثُمَّ
then
مِن
from
مُّضۡغَةٍ
an embryonic lump
مُّخَلَّقَةٍ
formed
وَغَيۡرِ
and unformed
مُخَلَّقَةٍ
and unformed
لِّنُبَيِّنَ
that We may make clear
لَكُمۡ‌ۚ
to you
وَنُقِرُّ
And We cause to remain
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَرۡحَامِ
the wombs
مَا
what
نَشَآءُ
We will
إِلَىٰٓ
for
أَجَلٍ
a term
مُّسَمًّى
appointed
ثُمَّ
then
نُخۡرِجُكُمۡ
We bring you out
طِفۡلاً
(as) a child
ثُمَّ
[then]
لِتَبۡلُغُوٓاۡ
that you may reach
أَشُدَّكُمۡ‌ۖ
[your] maturity
وَمِنكُم
And among you
مَّن
(is he) who
يُتَوَفَّىٰ
dies
وَمِنكُم
and among you
مَّن
(is he) who
يُرَدُّ
is returned
إِلَىٰٓ
to
أَرۡذَلِ
the most abject
ٱلۡعُمُرِ
age
لِكَيۡلَا
so that not
يَعۡلَمَ
he knows
مِنۢ
after
بَعۡدِ
after
عِلۡمٍ
having known
شَيۡــًٔا‌ۚ
anything
وَتَرَى
And you see
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
the earth
هَامِدَةً
barren
فَإِذَآ
then when
أَنزَلۡنَا
We send down
عَلَيۡهَا
on it
ٱلۡمَآءَ
water
ٱهۡتَزَّتۡ
it gets stirred
وَرَبَتۡ
and it swells
وَأَنۢبَتَتۡ
and grows
مِن
of
كُلِّ
every
زَوۡجِۭ
kind
بَهِيجٍ
beautiful
٥
O people, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed1 - that We may show you.2 And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind.
22:6
ذٰلِكَ
That
بِأَنَّ
(is) because
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
هُوَ
He
ٱلۡحَقُّ
(is) the Truth
وَأَنَّهُۥ
And that He
يُحۡىِ
[He] gives life
ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ
(to) the dead
وَأَنَّهُۥ
and that He
عَلَىٰ
(is) over
كُلِّ
every
شَىۡءٍ
thing
قَدِيرٌ
All-Powerful
٦
That is because Allāh is the True Reality and because He gives life to the dead and because He is over all things competent
22:7
وَأَنَّ
And that
ٱلسَّاعَةَ
the Hour
ءَاتِيَةٌ
will come
لَّا
(there is) no
رَيۡبَ
doubt
فِيهَا
about it
وَأَنَّ
and that
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
يَبۡعَثُ
will resurrect
مَن
(those) who
فِى
(are) in
ٱلۡقُبُورِ
the graves
٧
And [that they may know] that the Hour is coming - no doubt about it - and that Allāh will resurrect those in the graves.
22:8
وَمِنَ
And among
ٱلنَّاسِ
mankind
مَن
(is he) who
يُجَـٰدِلُ
disputes
فِى
concerning
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
بِغَيۡرِ
without
عِلۡمٍ
any knowledge
وَلَا
and not
هُدًى
any guidance
وَلَا
and not
كِتَـٰبٍ
a Book
مُّنِيرٍ
enlightening
٨
And of the people is he who disputes about Allāh without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening book [from Him],
22:9
ثَانِىَ
Twisting
عِطۡفِهِۦ
his neck
لِيُضِلَّ
to mislead
عَن
from
سَبِيلِ
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ
(of) Allah
لَهُۥ
For him
فِى
in
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
the world
خِزۡىٌ‌ۖ
(is) disgrace
وَنُذِيقُهُۥ
and We will make him taste
يَوۡمَ
(on the) Day
ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ
(of) Resurrection
عَذَابَ
(the) punishment
ٱلۡحَرِيقِ
(of) the Burning Fire
٩
Twisting his neck [in arrogance] to mislead [people] from the way of Allāh. For him in the world is disgrace, and We will make him taste on the Day of Resurrection the punishment of the Burning Fire [while it is said],
22:10
ذٰلِكَ
That
بِمَا
(is) for what
قَدَّمَتۡ
have sent forth
يَدَاكَ
your hands
وَأَنَّ
and that
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
لَيۡسَ
is not
بِظَلَّـٰمٍ
unjust
لِّلۡعَبِيدِ
to His slaves
١٠
"That is for what your hands have put forth and because Allāh is not ever unjust to [His] servants."
22:11
وَمِنَ
And among
ٱلنَّاسِ
the mankind
مَن
(is he) who
يَعۡبُدُ
worships
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
عَلَىٰ
on
حَرۡفٍ‌ۖ
an edge
فَإِنۡ
And if
أَصَابَهُۥ
befalls him
خَيۡرٌ
good
ٱطۡمَأَنَّ
he is content
بِهِۦ‌ۖ
with it
وَإِنۡ
and if
أَصَابَتۡهُ
befalls him
فِتۡنَةٌ
a trial
ٱنقَلَبَ
he turns
عَلَىٰ
on
وَجۡهِهِۦ
his face
خَسِرَ
He has lost
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
the world
وَٱلۡأَخِرَةَ‌ۚ
and the Hereafter
ذٰلِكَ
That
هُوَ
[it]
ٱلۡخُسۡرَانُ
(is) the loss
ٱلۡمُبِينُ
clear
١١
And of the people is he who worships Allāh on an edge.1 If he is touched by good, he is reassured by it; but if he is struck by trial, he turns on his face [to unbelief]. He has lost [this] world and the Hereafter. That is what is the manifest loss.
22:12
يَدۡعُواۡ
He calls
مِن
besides
دُونِ
besides
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
مَا
what
لَا
not
يَضُرُّهُۥ
harms him
وَمَا
and what
لَا
not
يَنفَعُهُۥ‌ۚ
benefits him
ذٰلِكَ
That
هُوَ
[it]
ٱلضَّلَـٰلُ
(is) the straying
ٱلۡبَعِيدُ
far away
١٢
He invokes instead of Allāh that which neither harms him nor benefits him. That is what is the extreme error.
22:13
يَدۡعُواۡ
He calls
لَمَن
(one) who
ضَرُّهُۥٓ
his harm
أَقۡرَبُ
(is) closer
مِن
than
نَّفۡعِهِۦ‌ۚ
his benefit
لَبِئۡسَ
Surely, an evil
ٱلۡمَوۡلَىٰ
protector
وَلَبِئۡسَ
and surely an evil
ٱلۡعَشِيرُ
friend
١٣
He invokes one whose harm is closer than his benefit - how wretched the protector and how wretched the associate.
22:14
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
يُدۡخِلُ
will admit
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
وَعَمِلُواۡ
and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
the righteous deeds
جَنَّـٰتٍ
(to) Gardens
تَجۡرِى
flow
مِن
from
تَحۡتِهَا
underneath it
ٱلۡأَنۡهَـٰرُ‌ۚ
the rivers
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
يَفۡعَلُ
does
مَا
what
يُرِيدُ
He intends
١٤
Indeed, Allāh will admit those who believe and do righteous deeds to gardens beneath which rivers flow. Indeed, Allāh does what He intends.
22:15
مَن
Whoever
كَانَ
[is]
يَظُنُّ
thinks
أَن
that
لَّن
not
يَنصُرَهُ
Allah will help him
ٱللَّهُ
Allah will help him
فِى
in
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
the world
وَٱلۡأَخِرَةِ
and the Hereafter
فَلۡيَمۡدُدۡ
then let him extend
بِسَبَبٍ
a rope
إِلَى
to
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
ثُمَّ
then
لۡيَقۡطَعۡ
let him cut off
فَلۡيَنظُرۡ
then let him see
هَلۡ
whether
يُذۡهِبَنَّ
will remove
كَيۡدُهُۥ
his plan
مَا
what
يَغِيظُ
enrages
١٥
Whoever should think that Allāh will not support him [i.e., Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ)] in this world and the Hereafter - let him extend a rope to the ceiling, then cut off [his breath],1 and let him see: will his effort remove that which enrages [him]?
22:16
وَكَذٰلِكَ
And thus
أَنزَلۡنَـٰهُ
We sent it down
ءَايَـٰتِۭ
(as) clear Verses
بَيِّنَـٰتٍ
(as) clear Verses
وَأَنَّ
and that
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
يَهۡدِى
guides
مَن
whom
يُرِيدُ
He intends
١٦
And thus have We sent it [i.e., the Qur’ān] down as verses of clear evidence and because Allāh guides whom He intends.
22:17
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
have believed
وَٱلَّذِينَ
and those who
هَادُواۡ
were Jews
وَٱلصَّـٰبِــِٔينَ
and the Sabians
وَٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ
and the Christians
وَٱلۡمَجُوسَ
and the Magians
وَٱلَّذِينَ
and those who
أَشۡرَكُوٓاۡ
(are) polytheists
إِنَّ
indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
يَفۡصِلُ
will judge
بَيۡنَهُمۡ
between them
يَوۡمَ
(on) the Day
ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ‌ۚ
(of) the Resurrection
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
عَلَىٰ
over
كُلِّ
every
شَىۡءٍ
thing
شَهِيدٌ
(is) a Witness
١٧
Indeed, those who have believed and those who were Jews and the Sabeans and the Christians and the Magians and those who associated with Allāh - Allāh will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed Allāh is, over all things, Witness.1
22:18
أَلَمۡ
Do not
تَرَ
you see
أَنَّ
that
ٱللَّهَ
(to) Allah
يَسۡجُدُ
prostrates
لَهُۥ
to Him
مَن
whoever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
the heavens
وَمَن
and whoever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the earth
وَٱلشَّمۡسُ
and the sun
وَٱلۡقَمَرُ
and the moon
وَٱلنُّجُومُ
and the stars
وَٱلۡجِبَالُ
and the mountains
وَٱلشَّجَرُ
and the trees
وَٱلدَّوَآبُّ
and the moving creatures
وَكَثِيرٌ
and many
مِّنَ
of
ٱلنَّاسِ‌ۖ
the people
وَكَثِيرٌ
But many
حَقَّ
(is) justly due
عَلَيۡهِ
on him
ٱلۡعَذَابُ‌ۗ
the punishment
وَمَن
And whoever
يُهِنِ
Allah humiliates
ٱللَّهُ
Allah humiliates
فَمَا
then not
لَهُۥ
for him
مِن
any
مُّكۡرِمٍ‌ۚ
bestower of honor
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
يَفۡعَلُ
does
مَا
what
يَشَآءُ
He wills
۩
Do you not see [i.e., know] that to Allāh prostrates whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth and the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the trees, the moving creatures and many of the people? But upon many the punishment has been justified.1 And he whom Allāh humiliates - for him there is no bestower of honor. Indeed, Allāh does what He wills.
22:19
۞هَـٰذَانِ
These two
خَصۡمَانِ
opponents
ٱخۡتَصَمُواۡ
dispute
فِى
concerning
رَبِّهِمۡ‌ۖ
their Lord
فَٱلَّذِينَ
But those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieved
قُطِّعَتۡ
will be cut out
لَهُمۡ
for them
ثِيَابٌ
garments
مِّن
of
نَّارٍ

Will be poured
مِن
over
فَوۡقِ
over
رُءُوسِهِمُ
their heads
ٱلۡحَمِيمُ
[the] scalding water
١٩
These1 are two adversaries who have disputed over their Lord. But those who disbelieved will have cut out for them garments of fire. Poured upon their heads will be scalding water
22:20
يُصۡهَرُ
Will be melted
بِهِۦ
with it
مَا
what
فِى

٢٠
By which is melted that within their bellies and [their] skins.
22:21
وَلَهُم
And for them
مَّقَـٰمِعُ
(are) hooked rods
مِنۡ
of
حَدِيدٍ
iron
٢١
And for [striking] them are maces of iron.
22:22
كُلَّمَآ
Every time
أَرَادُوٓاۡ
they want
أَن

يَخۡرُجُواۡ
come out
مِنۡهَا
from it
مِنۡ
from
غَمٍّ
anguish
أُعِيدُواۡ
they will be returned
فِيهَا
therein
وَذُوقُواۡ
Taste
عَذَابَ
(the) punishment
ٱلۡحَرِيقِ
(of) the Burning Fire
٢٢
Every time they want to get out of it [i.e., Hellfire] from anguish, they will be returned to it, and [it will be said], "Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire!"
22:23
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
يُدۡخِلُ
will admit
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ءَامَنُواۡ

ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
the righteous deeds

مِن
from
تَحۡتِهَا
underneath it
ٱلۡأَنۡهَـٰرُ
the rivers
يُحَلَّوۡنَ
They will be adorned
فِيهَا
therein
مِنۡ
with
أَسَاوِرَ
bracelets
مِن
of

حَرِيرٌ
(will be of) silk
٢٣
Indeed, Allāh will admit those who believe and do righteous deeds to gardens beneath which rivers flow. They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and pearl, and their garments therein will be silk.
22:24
وَهُدُوٓاۡ
And they were guided
إِلَى
to
ٱلطَّيِّبِ
the good

ٱلۡحَمِيدِ
(of) the Praiseworthy
٢٤
And they had been guided [in worldly life] to good speech, and they were guided to the path of the Praiseworthy.
22:25
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieved
وَيَصُدُّونَ
and hinder
عَن
from
سَبِيلِ
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
وَٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ
and Al-Masjid Al-Haraam
ٱلۡحَرَامِ
and Al-Masjid Al-Haraam
ٱلَّذِى
which
جَعَلۡنَـٰهُ
We made it
لِلنَّاسِ
for the mankind
سَوَآءً
equal
ٱلۡعَـٰكِفُ
(are) the resident
فِيهِ
therein
وَٱلۡبَادِ‌ۚ
and the visitor
وَمَن

٢٥
Indeed, those who have disbelieved and avert [people] from the way of Allāh and [from] al-Masjid al-Ḥarām, which We made for the people - equal are the resident therein and one from outside - and [also] whoever intends [a deed] therein1 of deviation [in religion] by wrongdoing - We will make him taste of a painful punishment.
22:26
وَإِذۡ
And when
بَوَّأۡنَا
We assigned
لِإِبۡرٰهِيمَ
to Ibrahim
مَكَانَ
(the) site
ٱلۡبَيۡتِ
(of) the House
أَن
That

وَٱلۡقَآئِمِينَ
and those who stand
وَٱلرُّكَّعِ
and those who bow
ٱلسُّجُودِ
(and) those who prostrate
٢٦
And [mention, O Muḥammad], when We designated for Abraham the site of the House, [saying], "Do not associate anything with Me and purify My House for those who perform ṭawāf1 and those who stand [in prayer] and those who bow and prostrate.
22:27
وَأَذِّن
And proclaim
فِى
to
ٱلنَّاسِ
[the] mankind
بِٱلۡحَجِّ
[of] the Pilgrimage
يَأۡتُوكَ
they will come to you
رِجَالاً
(on) foot
وَعَلَىٰ

يَأۡتِينَ
they will come

عَمِيقٍ
distant
٢٧
And proclaim to the people the ḥajj [pilgrimage]; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every distant pass -
22:28
لِّيَشۡهَدُواۡ
That they may witness
مَنَـٰفِعَ
benefits
لَهُمۡ
for them
وَيَذۡكُرُواۡ
and mention
ٱسۡمَ
(the) name
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
فِىٓ
on
أَيَّامٍ
days
مَّعۡلُومَـٰتٍ
known
عَلَىٰ
over
مَا

رَزَقَهُم
He has provided them

of
بَهِيمَةِ

فَكُلُواۡ
So eat
مِنۡهَا
of them
وَأَطۡعِمُواۡ
and feed
ٱلۡبَآئِسَ
the miserable
ٱلۡفَقِيرَ
the poor
٢٨
That they may witness [i.e., attend] benefits for themselves and mention the name of Allāh on known [i.e., specific] days over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals.1 So eat of them and feed the miserable and poor.
22:29
ثُمَّ
Then
لۡيَقۡضُواۡ
let them end
تَفَثَهُمۡ
their prescribed duties
وَلۡيُوفُواۡ
and fulfil
نُذُورَهُمۡ
their vows
وَلۡيَطَّوَّفُواۡ
and circumambulate
بِٱلۡبَيۡتِ
the House
ٱلۡعَتِيقِ
[the] Ancient
٢٩
Then let them end their untidiness and fulfill their vows and perform ṭawāf around the ancient House."
22:30
ذٰلِكَ
That

لَكُمُ
to you
ٱلۡأَنۡعَـٰمُ
the cattle
إِلَّا
except
مَا
what
يُتۡلَىٰ
is recited
عَلَيۡكُمۡ‌ۖ
to you
فَٱجۡتَنِبُواۡ
So avoid
ٱلرِّجۡسَ
the abomination
مِنَ
of
ٱلۡأَوۡثَـٰنِ
the idols
وَٱجۡتَنِبُواۡ
and avoid
قَوۡلَ
(the) word
ٱلزُّورِ
false
٣٠
That [has been commanded], and whoever honors the sacred ordinances of Allāh - it is best for him in the sight of his Lord. And permitted to you are the grazing livestock, except what is recited to you.1 So avoid the uncleanliness of idols and avoid false statement,
22:31
حُنَفَآءَ
Being upright
لِلَّهِ
to Allah
غَيۡرَ
not
مُشۡرِكِينَ
associating partners
بِهِۦ‌ۚ
with Him
وَمَن
And whoever
يُشۡرِكۡ
associates partners
بِٱللَّهِ
with Allah
فَكَأَنَّمَا
then (it is) as though
خَرَّ
he had fallen
مِنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
فَتَخۡطَفُهُ
and (had) snatched him
ٱلطَّيۡرُ
the birds

had blown
بِهِ
him
ٱلرِّيحُ
the wind
فِى
to
مَكَانٍ
a place
سَحِيقٍ
far off
٣١
Inclining [only] to Allāh, not associating [anything] with Him. And he who associates with Allāh - it is as though he had fallen from the sky and was snatched by the birds or the wind carried him down into a remote place.
22:32
ذٰلِكَ
That
وَمَن
and whoever
يُعَظِّمۡ
honors
شَعَـٰٓئِرَ
(the) Symbols
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
فَإِنَّهَا
then indeed, it
مِن
(is) from
تَقۡوَى
(the) piety
ٱلۡقُلُوبِ
(of) the hearts
٣٢
That [is so]. And whoever honors the symbols [i.e., rites] of Allāh - indeed, it is from the piety of hearts.
22:33
لَكُمۡ
For you
فِيهَا
therein
مَنَـٰفِعُ
(are) benefits
إِلَىٰٓ
for
أَجَلٍ
a term
مُّسَمًّى
appointed
ثُمَّ
then
مَحِلُّهَآ
their place of sacrifice
إِلَى
(is) at
ٱلۡبَيۡتِ
the House
ٱلۡعَتِيقِ
the Ancient
٣٣
For you therein [i.e., the animals marked for sacrifice] are benefits for a specified term;1 then their place of sacrifice is at the ancient House.2
22:34
وَلِكُلِّ
And for every
أُمَّةٍ
nation
جَعَلۡنَا
We have appointed
مَنسَكًا
a rite
لِّيَذۡكُرُواۡ
that they may mention
ٱسۡمَ
(the) name
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
عَلَىٰ
over
مَا
what
رَزَقَهُم
He (has) provided them
مِّنۢ
of
بَهِيمَةِ
(the) beast
ٱلۡأَنۡعَـٰمِ‌ۗ
(of) cattle
فَإِلَـٰهُكُمۡ
And your God
إِلَـٰهٌ
(is) God
وٰحِدٌ
One
فَلَهُۥٓ
so to Him
أَسۡلِمُواۡ‌ۗ
submit
وَبَشِّرِ
And give glad tidings
ٱلۡمُخۡبِتِينَ
(to) the humble ones
٣٤
And for every [religious] community We have appointed a rite [of sacrifice]1 that they may mention the name of Allāh over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals. For your god is one God, so to Him submit. And, [O Muḥammad], give good tidings to the humble [before their Lord]
22:35
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those
إِذَا
when
ذُكِرَ
is mentioned
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
وَجِلَتۡ
fear
قُلُوبُهُمۡ
their hearts
وَٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
and those who are patient
عَلَىٰ
over
مَآ
whatever
أَصَابَهُمۡ
has afflicted them
وَٱلۡمُقِيمِى
and those who establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ
the prayer
وَمِمَّا
and out of what
رَزَقۡنَـٰهُمۡ
We have provided them
يُنفِقُونَ
they spend
٣٥
Who, when Allāh is mentioned, their hearts are fearful, and [to] the patient over what has afflicted them, and the establishers of prayer and those who spend from what We have provided them.
22:36
وَٱلۡبُدۡنَ
And the camels and cattle
جَعَلۡنَـٰهَا
We have made them
لَكُم
for you
مِّن
among
شَعَـٰٓئِرِ
(the) Symbols
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
لَكُمۡ
for you
فِيهَا
therein
خَيۡرٌ‌ۖ
(is) good
فَٱذۡكُرُواۡ
So mention
ٱسۡمَ
(the) name
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
عَلَيۡهَا
over them
صَوَآفَّ‌ۖ
(when) lined up
فَإِذَا
and when
وَجَبَتۡ
are down
جُنُوبُهَا
their sides
فَكُلُواۡ
then eat
مِنۡهَا
from them
وَأَطۡعِمُواۡ
and feed
ٱلۡقَانِعَ
the needy who do not ask
وَٱلۡمُعۡتَرَّ‌ۚ
and the needy who ask
كَذٰلِكَ
Thus
سَخَّرۡنَـٰهَا
We have subjected them
لَكُمۡ
to you
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
so that you may
تَشۡكُرُونَ
be grateful
٣٦
And the camels and cattle We have appointed for you as among the symbols [i.e., rites] of Allāh; for you therein is good. So mention the name of Allāh upon them when lined up [for sacrifice]; and when they are [lifeless] on their sides, then eat from them and feed the needy [who does not seek aid] and the beggar. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may be grateful.
22:37
لَن
Will not
يَنَالَ
reach
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
لُحُومُهَا
their meat
وَلَا
and not
دِمَآؤُهَا
their blood
وَلَـٰكِن
but
يَنَالُهُ
reaches Him
ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ
the piety
مِنكُمۡ‌ۚ
from you
كَذٰلِكَ
Thus
سَخَّرَهَا
He subjected them
لَكُمۡ
to you
لِتُكَبِّرُواۡ
so that you may magnify
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
عَلَىٰ
for
مَا
what
هَدَٮٰكُمۡ‌ۗ
He has guided you
وَبَشِّرِ
And give glad tidings
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
(to) the good-doers
٣٧
Their meat will not reach Allāh, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may glorify Allāh for that [to] which He has guided you; and give good tidings to the doers of good.
22:38
۞إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
يُدٰفِعُ
defends
عَنِ
defends
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ءَامَنُوٓاۡ‌ۗ
believe
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
لَا
(does) not
يُحِبُّ
like
كُلَّ
every
خَوَّانٍ
treacherous
كَفُورٍ
ungrateful
٣٨
Indeed, Allāh defends those who have believed. Indeed, Allāh does not like everyone treacherous and ungrateful.
22:39
أُذِنَ
Permission is given
لِلَّذِينَ
to those who
يُقَـٰتَلُونَ
are being fought
بِأَنَّهُمۡ
because they
ظُلِمُواۡ‌ۚ
were wronged
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
عَلَىٰ
for
نَصۡرِهِمۡ
their victory
لَقَدِيرٌ
(is) surely Able
٣٩
Permission [to fight] has been given to those who are being fought,1 because they were wronged. And indeed, Allāh is competent to give them victory.
22:40
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
أُخۡرِجُواۡ
have been evicted
مِن
from
دِيَـٰرِهِم
their homes
بِغَيۡرِ
without
حَقٍّ
right
إِلَّآ
except
أَن
that
يَقُولُواۡ
they said
رَبُّنَا
Our Lord
ٱللَّهُ‌ۗ
(is) Allah
وَلَوۡلَا
And if not
دَفۡعُ
Allah checks
ٱللَّهِ
Allah checks
ٱلنَّاسَ
the people
بَعۡضَهُم
some of them
بِبَعۡضٍ
by others
لَّهُدِّمَتۡ
surely (would) have been demolished
صَوٰمِعُ
monasteries
وَبِيَعٌ
and churches
وَصَلَوٰتٌ
and synagogues
وَمَسَـٰجِدُ
and masajid
يُذۡكَرُ
is mentioned
فِيهَا
in it
ٱسۡمُ
(the) name of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
(the) name of Allah
كَثِيرًا‌ۗ
much
وَلَيَنصُرَنَّ
And surely Allah will help
ٱللَّهُ
And surely Allah will help
مَن
(those) who
يَنصُرُهُۥٓ‌ۗ
help Him
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
لَقَوِىٌّ
(is) surely All-Strong
عَزِيزٌ
All-Mighty
٤٠
[They are] those who have been evicted from their homes without right - only because they say, "Our Lord is Allāh." And were it not that Allāh checks the people, some by means of others, there would have been demolished monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques in which the name of Allāh is much mentioned [i.e., praised]. And Allāh will surely support those who support Him [i.e., His cause]. Indeed, Allāh is Powerful and Exalted in Might.
22:41
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
إِن
if
مَّكَّنَّـٰهُمۡ
We establish them
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the land
أَقَامُواۡ
they establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
the prayer
وَءَاتَوُاۡ
and they give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
zakah
وَأَمَرُواۡ
and they enjoin
بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ
the right
وَنَهَوۡاۡ
and forbid
عَنِ
from
ٱلۡمُنكَرِ‌ۗ
the wrong
وَلِلَّهِ
And for Allah
عَـٰقِبَةُ
(is the) end
ٱلۡأُمُورِ
(of) the matters
٤١
[And they are] those who, if We give them authority in the land, establish prayer and give zakāh and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. And to Allāh belongs the outcome of [all] matters.
22:42
وَإِن
And if
يُكَذِّبُوكَ
they deny you
فَقَدۡ
so verily
كَذَّبَتۡ
denied
قَبۡلَهُمۡ
before them
قَوۡمُ
(the) people
نُوحٍ
(of) Nuh
وَعَادٌ
and Aad
وَثَمُودُ
and Thamud
٤٢
And if they deny you, [O Muḥammad] - so, before them, did the people of Noah and ʿAad and Thamūd deny [their prophets],
22:43
وَقَوۡمُ
And (the) people
إِبۡرٰهِيمَ
(of) Ibrahim
وَقَوۡمُ
and (the) people
لُوطٍ
(of) Lut
٤٣
And the people of Abraham and the people of Lot.
22:44
وَأَصۡحَـٰبُ
And the inhabitants
مَدۡيَنَ‌ۖ
(of) Madyan
وَكُذِّبَ
And Musa was denied
مُوسَىٰ
And Musa was denied
فَأَمۡلَيۡتُ
so I granted respite
لِلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
to the disbelievers
ثُمَّ
then
أَخَذۡتُهُمۡ‌ۖ
I seized them
فَكَيۡفَ
and how
كَانَ
was
نَكِيرِ
My punishment
٤٤
And the inhabitants of Madyan. And Moses was denied, so I prolonged enjoyment for the disbelievers; then I seized them, and how [terrible] was My reproach.
22:45
فَكَأَيِّن
And how many
مِّن
of
قَرۡيَةٍ
a township
أَهۡلَكۡنَـٰهَا
We have destroyed it
وَهِىَ
while it
ظَالِمَةٌ
was doing wrong
فَهِىَ
so it
خَاوِيَةٌ
fell
عَلَىٰ
on
عُرُوشِهَا
its roofs
وَبِئۡرٍ
and well
مُّعَطَّلَةٍ
abandoned
وَقَصۡرٍ
and castle
مَّشِيدٍ
lofty
٤٥
And how many a city did We destroy while it was committing wrong - so it is [now] fallen into ruin1 - and [how many] an abandoned well and [how many] a lofty palace.2
22:46
أَفَلَمۡ
So have not
يَسِيرُواۡ
they traveled
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the land
فَتَكُونَ
and is
لَهُمۡ
for them
قُلُوبٌ
hearts
يَعۡقِلُونَ
(to) reason
بِهَآ
with it
أَوۡ
or
ءَاذَانٌ
ears
يَسۡمَعُونَ
(to) hear
بِهَا‌ۖ
with it
فَإِنَّهَا
For indeed, [it]
لَا
not
تَعۡمَى
(are) blinded
ٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرُ
the eyes
وَلَـٰكِن
but
تَعۡمَى
(are) blinded
ٱلۡقُلُوبُ
the hearts
ٱلَّتِى
which
فِى
(are) in
ٱلصُّدُورِ
the breasts
٤٦
So have they not traveled through the earth and have hearts by which to reason and ears by which to hear? For indeed, it is not eyes that are blinded, but blinded are the hearts which are within the breasts.
22:47
وَيَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَكَ
And they ask you to hasten
بِٱلۡعَذَابِ
the punishment
وَلَن
But never will
يُخۡلِفَ
fail/violate
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
وَعۡدَهُۥ‌ۚ
(in) His Promise
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
يَوۡمًا
a day
عِندَ
with
رَبِّكَ
your Lord
كَأَلۡفِ
(is) like a thousand
سَنَةٍ
year(s)
مِّمَّا
of what
تَعُدُّونَ
you count
٤٧
And they urge you to hasten the punishment. But Allāh will never fail in His promise. And indeed, a day with your Lord is like a thousand years of those which you count.
22:48
وَكَأَيِّن
And how many
مِّن
of
قَرۡيَةٍ
a township
أَمۡلَيۡتُ
I gave respite
لَهَا
to it
وَهِىَ
while it
ظَالِمَةٌ
(was) doing wrong
ثُمَّ
Then
أَخَذۡتُهَا
I seized it
وَإِلَىَّ
and to Me
ٱلۡمَصِيرُ
(is) the destination
٤٨
And for how many a city did I prolong enjoyment while it was committing wrong. Then I seized it, and to Me is the [final] destination.
22:49
قُلۡ
Say
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
O mankind
ٱلنَّاسُ
O mankind
إِنَّمَآ
Only
أَنَاۡ
I am
لَكُمۡ
to you
نَذِيرٌ
a warner
مُّبِينٌ
clear
٤٩
Say, "O people, I am only to you a clear warner."
22:50
فَٱلَّذِينَ
So those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
وَعَمِلُواۡ
and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
righteous deeds
لَهُم
for them
مَّغۡفِرَةٌ
(is) forgiveness
وَرِزۡقٌ
and a provision
كَرِيمٌ
noble
٥٠
And those who have believed and done righteous deeds - for them is forgiveness and noble provision.
22:51
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
سَعَوۡاۡ
strove
فِىٓ
against
ءَايَـٰتِنَا
Our Verses
مُعَـٰجِزِينَ
(to) cause failure
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
those
أَصۡحَـٰبُ
(are the) companions
ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
(of) the Hellfire
٥١
But the ones who strove against Our verses, [seeking] to cause failure1 - those are the companions of Hellfire.
22:52
وَمَآ
And not
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
مِن
before you
قَبۡلِكَ
before you
مِن
any
رَّسُولٍ
Messenger
وَلَا
and not
نَبِىٍّ
a Prophet
إِلَّآ
but
إِذَا
when
تَمَنَّىٰٓ
he recited
أَلۡقَى
threw
ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنُ
the Shaitaan
فِىٓ
in
أُمۡنِيَّتِهِۦ
his recitation
فَيَنسَخُ
But Allah abolishes
ٱللَّهُ
But Allah abolishes
مَا
what
يُلۡقِى
throws
ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنُ
the Shaitaan
ثُمَّ
then
يُحۡكِمُ
Allah will establish
ٱللَّهُ
Allah will establish
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ‌ۗ
His Verses
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
عَلِيمٌ
(is) All-Knower
حَكِيمٌ
All-Wise
٥٢
And We did not send before you any messenger or prophet except that when he spoke [or recited], Satan threw into it [some misunderstanding]. But Allāh abolishes that which Satan throws in; then Allāh makes precise His verses.1 And Allāh is Knowing and Wise.
22:53
لِّيَجۡعَلَ
That He may make
مَا
what
يُلۡقِى
the Shaitaan throws
ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنُ
the Shaitaan throws
فِتۡنَةً
a trial
لِّلَّذِينَ
for those
فِى
in
قُلُوبِهِم
their hearts
مَّرَضٌ
(is) a disease
وَٱلۡقَاسِيَةِ
and (are) hardened
قُلُوبُهُمۡ‌ۗ
their hearts
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
the wrongdoers
لَفِى
(are) surely, in
شِقَاقِۭ
schism
بَعِيدٍ
far
٥٣
[That is] so He may make what Satan throws in [i.e., asserts] a trial for those within whose hearts is disease1 and those hard of heart. And indeed, the wrongdoers are in extreme dissension.
22:54
وَلِيَعۡلَمَ
And that may know
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
أُوتُواۡ
have been given
ٱلۡعِلۡمَ
the knowledge
أَنَّهُ
that it
ٱلۡحَقُّ
(is) the truth
مِن
from
رَّبِّكَ
your Lord
فَيُؤۡمِنُواۡ
and they believe
بِهِۦ
in it
فَتُخۡبِتَ
and may humbly submit
لَهُۥ
to it
قُلُوبُهُمۡ‌ۗ
their hearts
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
لَهَادِ
(is) surely (the) Guide
ٱلَّذِينَ
(of) those who
ءَامَنُوٓاۡ
believe
إِلَىٰ
to
صِرٰطٍ
a Path
مُّسۡتَقِيمٍ
Straight
٥٤
And so those who were given knowledge may know that it is the truth from your Lord and [therefore] believe in it, and their hearts humbly submit to it. And indeed is Allāh the Guide of those who have believed to a straight path.
22:55
وَلَا
And not
يَزَالُ
will cease
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
فِى
(to be) in
مِرۡيَةٍ
doubt
مِّنۡهُ
of it
حَتَّىٰ
until
تَأۡتِيَهُمُ
comes to them
ٱلسَّاعَةُ
the Hour
بَغۡتَةً
suddenly
أَوۡ
or
يَأۡتِيَهُمۡ
comes to them
عَذَابُ
(the) punishment
يَوۡمٍ
(of) a Day
عَقِيمٍ
barren
٥٥
But those who disbelieve will not cease to be in doubt of it until the Hour comes upon them unexpectedly or there comes to them the punishment of a barren Day.1
22:56
ٱلۡمُلۡكُ
The Sovereignty
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
(on) that Day
لِّلَّهِ
(will be) for Allah
يَحۡكُمُ
He will judge
بَيۡنَهُمۡ‌ۚ
between them
فَٱلَّذِينَ
So those who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
وَعَمِلُواۡ
and did
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
righteous deeds
فِى
(will be) in
جَنَّـٰتِ
Gardens
ٱلنَّعِيمِ
(of) Delight
٥٦
[All] sovereignty that Day is for Allāh;1 He will judge between them. So they who believed and did righteous deeds will be in the Gardens of Pleasure.
22:57
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieved
وَكَذَّبُواۡ
and denied
بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا
Our Verses
فَأُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
then those
لَهُمۡ
for them
عَذَابٌ
(will be) a punishment
مُّهِينٌ
humiliating
٥٧
And they who disbelieved and denied Our signs - for those there will be a humiliating punishment.
22:58
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
هَاجَرُواۡ
emigrated
فِى
in
سَبِيلِ
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
ثُمَّ
then
قُتِلُوٓاۡ
were killed
أَوۡ
or
مَاتُواۡ
died
لَيَرۡزُقَنَّهُمُ
surely, Allah will provide them
ٱللَّهُ
surely, Allah will provide them
رِزۡقًا
a provision
حَسَنًا‌ۚ
good
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
لَهُوَ
surely, He
خَيۡرُ
(is the) Best
ٱلرّٰزِقِينَ
(of) the Providers
٥٨
And those who emigrated for the cause of Allāh and then were killed or died - Allāh will surely provide for them a good provision. And indeed, it is Allāh who is the best of providers.
