1 Surahs11 Versesركوع 70
4:60
أَلَمۡ
Do not
تَرَ
you see
إِلَى
[towards]
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
يَزۡعُمُونَ
claim
أَنَّهُمۡ
that they
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe
بِمَآ
in what
أُنزِلَ
(is) revealed
إِلَيۡكَ
to you
وَمَآ
and what
أُنزِلَ
was revealed
مِن
from
قَبۡلِكَ
before you
يُرِيدُونَ
They wish
أَن
to
يَتَحَاكَمُوٓاۡ
go for judgment
إِلَى
to
ٱلطَّـٰغُوتِ
the false deities
وَقَدۡ
and surely
أُمِرُوٓاۡ
they were ordered
أَن
to
يَكۡفُرُواۡ
reject
بِهِۦ
[with] it
وَيُرِيدُ
And wishes
ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنُ
the Shaitaan
أَن
to
يُضِلَّهُمۡ
mislead them
ضَلَـٰلاَۢ
astray
بَعِيدًا
far away
٦٠
Have you not seen those who claim to have believed in what was revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], and what was revealed before you? They wish to refer legislation to ṭāghūt,1 while they were commanded to reject it; and Satan wishes to lead them far astray.
4:61
وَإِذَا
And when
قِيلَ
it is said
لَهُمۡ
to them
تَعَالَوۡاۡ
Come
إِلَىٰ
to
مَآ
what
أَنزَلَ
(has) revealed
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
وَإِلَى
and to
ٱلرَّسُولِ
the Messenger
رَأَيۡتَ
you see
ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقِينَ
the hypocrites
يَصُدُّونَ
turning away
عَنكَ
from you
صُدُودًا
(in) aversion
٦١
And when it is said to them, "Come to what Allāh has revealed and to the Messenger," you see the hypocrites turning away from you in aversion.
4:62
فَكَيۡفَ
So how
إِذَآ
when
أَصَـٰبَتۡهُم
befalls them
مُّصِيبَةُۢ
disaster
بِمَا
for what
قَدَّمَتۡ
sent forth
أَيۡدِيهِمۡ
their hands
ثُمَّ
then
جَآءُوكَ
they come to you
يَحۡلِفُونَ
swearing
بِٱللَّهِ
by Allah
إِنۡ
Not
أَرَدۡنَآ
we intended
إِلَّآ
except
إِحۡسَـٰنًا
good
وَتَوۡفِيقًا
and reconciliation
٦٢
So how [will it be] when disaster strikes them because of what their hands have put forth and then they come to you swearing by Allāh, "We intended nothing but good conduct and accommodation."
4:63
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
Those
ٱلَّذِينَ
(are) the ones who
يَعۡلَمُ
knows
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
مَا
what
فِى
(is) in
قُلُوبِهِمۡ
their hearts
فَأَعۡرِضۡ
so turn away
عَنۡهُمۡ
from them
وَعِظۡهُمۡ
and admonish them
وَقُل
and say
لَّهُمۡ
to them
فِىٓ
concerning
أَنفُسِهِمۡ
their souls
قَوۡلاَۢ
a word
بَلِيغًا
penetrating
٦٣
Those are the ones of whom Allāh knows what is in their hearts, so turn away from them1 but admonish them and speak to them a far-reaching [i.e., effective] word.
4:64
وَمَآ
And not
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
مِن
any
رَّسُولٍ
Messenger
إِلَّا
except
لِيُطَاعَ
to be obeyed
بِإِذۡنِ
by (the) permission
ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ
(of) Allah
وَلَوۡ
And if
أَنَّهُمۡ
[that] they
إِذ
when
ظَّلَمُوٓاۡ
they wronged
أَنفُسَهُمۡ
themselves
جَآءُوكَ
(had) come to you
فَٱسۡتَغۡفَرُواۡ
and asked forgiveness
ٱللَّهَ
(of) Allah
وَٱسۡتَغۡفَرَ
and asked forgiveness
لَهُمُ
for them
ٱلرَّسُولُ
the Messenger
لَوَجَدُواۡ
surely they would have found
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
تَوَّابًا
Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمًا
Most Merciful
٦٤
And We did not send any messenger except to be obeyed by permission of Allāh. And if, when they wronged themselves, they had come to you, [O Muḥammad], and asked forgiveness of Allāh and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allāh Accepting of Repentance and Merciful.
4:65
فَلَا
But no
وَرَبِّكَ
by your Lord
لَا
not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
will they believe
حَتَّىٰ
until
يُحَكِّمُوكَ
they make you judge
فِيمَا
about what
شَجَرَ
arises
بَيۡنَهُمۡ
between them
ثُمَّ
then
لَا
not
يَجِدُواۡ
they find
فِىٓ
in
أَنفُسِهِمۡ
themselves
حَرَجًا
any discomfort
مِّمَّا
about what
قَضَيۡتَ
you (have) decided
وَيُسَلِّمُواۡ
and submit
تَسۡلِيمًا
(in full) submission
٦٥
But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muḥammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission.
4:66
وَلَوۡ
And if
أَنَّا
[that] We
كَتَبۡنَا
(had) decreed
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
on them
أَنِ
that
ٱقۡتُلُوٓاۡ
Kill
أَنفُسَكُمۡ
yourselves
أَوِ
or
ٱخۡرُجُواۡ
Go forth
مِن
from
دِيَـٰرِكُم
your homes
مَّا
not
فَعَلُوهُ
they would have done it
إِلَّا
except
قَلِيلٌ
a few
مِّنۡهُمۡ‌ۖ
of them
وَلَوۡ
But if
أَنَّهُمۡ
[that] they
فَعَلُواۡ
had done
مَا
what
يُوعَظُونَ
they were advised
بِهِۦ
with [it]
لَكَانَ
surely (it) would have been
خَيۡرًا
better
لَّهُمۡ
for them
وَأَشَدَّ
and stronger
تَثۡبِيتًا
strengthen(ing)
٦٦
And if We had decreed upon them, "Kill yourselves" or "Leave your homes," they would not have done it, except for a few of them. But if they had done what they were instructed, it would have been better for them and a firmer position [for them in faith].
4:67
وَإِذًا
And then
لَّأَتَيۡنَـٰهُم
We would (have) given them
مِّن
from
لَّدُنَّآ
Ourselves
أَجۡرًا
a reward
عَظِيمًا
great
٦٧
And then We would have given them from Us a great reward.
4:68
وَلَهَدَيۡنَـٰهُمۡ
And We would have guided them
صِرٰطًا
(to the) way
مُّسۡتَقِيمًا
(the) straight
٦٨
And We would have guided them to a straight path.
4:69
وَمَن
And whoever
يُطِعِ
obeys
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
وَٱلرَّسُولَ
and the Messenger
فَأُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
then those
مَعَ
(will be) with
ٱلَّذِينَ
those whom
أَنۡعَمَ
has bestowed (His) Favor
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
عَلَيۡهِم
upon them
مِّنَ
of
ٱلنَّبِيِّــۧنَ
the Prophets
وَٱلصِّدِّيقِينَ
and the truthful
وَٱلشُّهَدَآءِ
and the martyrs
وَٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ‌ۚ
and the righteous
وَحَسُنَ
And excellent
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
(are) those
رَفِيقًا
companion(s)
٦٩
And whoever obeys Allāh and the Messenger - those will be with the ones upon whom Allāh has bestowed favor of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions.
4:70
ذٰلِكَ
That
ٱلۡفَضۡلُ
(is) the Bounty
مِنَ
of
ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ
Allah
وَكَفَىٰ
and sufficient
بِٱللَّهِ
Allah
عَلِيمًا
(as) All-Knower
٧٠
That is the bounty from Allāh, and sufficient is Allāh as Knower.
