1 Surahs7 Versesركوع 57
3:149
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
who
ءَامَنُوٓاۡ
believe
إِن
If
تُطِيعُواۡ
you obey
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
يَرُدُّوكُمۡ
they will turn you back
عَلَىٰٓ
on
أَعۡقَـٰبِكُمۡ
your heels
فَتَنقَلِبُواۡ
then you will turn back
خَـٰسِرِينَ
(as) losers
١٤٩
O you who have believed, if you obey those who disbelieve, they will turn you back on your heels, and you will [then] become losers.
3:150
بَلِ
Nay
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
مَوۡلَـٰكُمۡ‌ۖ
(is) your Protector
وَهُوَ
and He
خَيۡرُ
(is the) best
ٱلنَّـٰصِرِينَ
(of) the Helpers
١٥٠
But Allāh is your protector, and He is the best of helpers.
3:151
سَنُلۡقِى
We will cast
فِى
in
قُلُوبِ
(the) hearts
ٱلَّذِينَ
(of) those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
ٱلرُّعۡبَ
[the] terror
بِمَآ
because
أَشۡرَكُواۡ
they associated partners
بِٱللَّهِ
with Allah
مَا
what
لَمۡ
not
يُنَزِّلۡ
He sent down
بِهِۦ
about it
سُلۡطَـٰنًا‌ۖ
any authority
وَمَأۡوَٮٰهُمُ
and their refuge
ٱلنَّارُ‌ۚ
(will be) the Fire
وَبِئۡسَ
and wretched
مَثۡوَى
(is the) abode
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
[of] the wrongdoers
١٥١
We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve for what they have associated with Allāh of which He had not sent down [any] authority.1 And their refuge will be the Fire, and wretched is the residence of the wrongdoers.
3:152
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
صَدَقَكُمُ
fulfilled to you
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
وَعۡدَهُۥٓ
His promise
إِذۡ
when
تَحُسُّونَهُم
you were killing them
بِإِذۡنِهِۦ‌ۖ
by His permission
حَتَّىٰٓ
until
إِذَا
when
فَشِلۡتُمۡ
you lost courage
وَتَنَـٰزَعۡتُمۡ
and you fell into dispute
فِى
concerning
ٱلۡأَمۡرِ
the order
وَعَصَيۡتُم
and you disobeyed
مِّنۢ
from
بَعۡدِ
after
مَآ
[what]
أَرَٮٰكُم
He (had) shown you
مَّا
what
تُحِبُّونَ‌ۚ
you love
مِنكُم
Among you
مَّن
(are some) who
يُرِيدُ
desire
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
the world
وَمِنكُم
and among you
مَّن
(are some) who
يُرِيدُ
desire
ٱلۡأَخِرَةَ‌ۚ
the Hereafter
ثُمَّ
Then
صَرَفَكُمۡ
He diverted you
عَنۡهُمۡ
from them
لِيَبۡتَلِيَكُمۡ‌ۖ
so that He may test you
وَلَقَدۡ
And surely
عَفَا
He forgave
عَنكُمۡ‌ۗ
you
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
ذُو
(is the) Possessor
فَضۡلٍ
(of) Bounty
عَلَى
for
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
the believers
١٥٢
And Allāh had certainly fulfilled His promise to you when you were killing them [i.e., the enemy] by His permission until [the time] when you lost courage and fell to disputing about the order [given by the Prophet (ﷺ)] and disobeyed after He had shown you that which you love.1 Among you are some who desire this world, and among you are some who desire the Hereafter. Then He turned you back from them [defeated] that He might test you. And He has already forgiven you, and Allāh is the possessor of bounty for the believers.
3:153
۞إِذۡ
When
تُصۡعِدُونَ
you were running uphill
وَلَا
and not
تَلۡوُۥنَ
casting a glance
عَلَىٰٓ
on
أَحَدٍ
anyone
وَٱلرَّسُولُ
while the Messenger
يَدۡعُوكُمۡ
was calling you
فِىٓ
[in]
أُخۡرَٮٰكُمۡ
(from) behind you
فَأَثَـٰبَكُمۡ
So (He) repaid you
غَمَّۢا
(with) distress
بِغَمٍّ
on distress
لِّكَيۡلَا
so that not
تَحۡزَنُواۡ
you grieve
عَلَىٰ
over
مَا
what
فَاتَكُمۡ
escaped you
وَلَا
and not
مَآ
what
أَصَـٰبَكُمۡ‌ۗ
(had) befallen you
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
خَبِيرُۢ
(is) All-Aware
بِمَا
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
you do
١٥٣
[Remember] when you [fled and] climbed [the mountain] without looking aside at anyone while the Messenger was calling you from behind. So Allāh repaid you with distress upon distress so you would not grieve for that which had escaped you [of victory and spoils of war] or [for] that which had befallen you [of injury and death]. And Allāh is [fully] Aware of what you do.
3:154
ثُمَّ
Then
أَنزَلَ
He sent down
عَلَيۡكُم
upon you
مِّنۢ
from
بَعۡدِ
after
ٱلۡغَمِّ
the distress
أَمَنَةً
security
نُّعَاسًا
slumber
يَغۡشَىٰ
overcoming
طَآئِفَةً
a group
مِّنكُمۡ‌ۖ
of you
وَطَآئِفَةٌ
while a group
قَدۡ
certainly
أَهَمَّتۡهُمۡ
worried [them]
أَنفُسُهُمۡ
(about) themselves
يَظُنُّونَ
thinking
بِٱللَّهِ
about Allah
غَيۡرَ
other than
ٱلۡحَقِّ
the truth
ظَنَّ
(the) thought
ٱلۡجَـٰهِلِيَّةِ‌ۖ
(of) [the] ignorance
يَقُولُونَ
saying
هَل
Is (there)
لَّنَا
for us
مِنَ
from
ٱلۡأَمۡرِ
the matter
مِن
any
شَىۡءٍ‌ۗ
thing
قُلۡ
Say
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلۡأَمۡرَ
the matter
كُلَّهُۥ
all (of) it
لِلَّهِ‌ۗ
(is) for Allah
يُخۡفُونَ
They hide
فِىٓ
in
أَنفُسِهِم
themselves
مَّا
what
لَا
not
يُبۡدُونَ
they reveal
لَكَ‌ۖ
to you
يَقُولُونَ
They say
لَوۡ
If
كَانَ
was
لَنَا
for us
مِنَ
from
ٱلۡأَمۡرِ
the matter
شَىۡءٌ
anything
مَّا
not
قُتِلۡنَا
we would have been killed
هَـٰهُنَا‌ۗ
here
قُل
Say
لَّوۡ
If
كُنتُمۡ
you were
فِى
in
بُيُوتِكُمۡ
your houses
لَبَرَزَ
surely (would have) come out
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كُتِبَ
was decreed
عَلَيۡهِمُ
upon them
ٱلۡقَتۡلُ
[the] death
إِلَىٰ
towards
مَضَاجِعِهِمۡ‌ۖ
their places of death
وَلِيَبۡتَلِىَ
And that might test
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
مَا
what
فِى
(is) in
صُدُورِكُمۡ
your breasts
وَلِيُمَحِّصَ
and that He may purge
مَا
what
فِى
(is) in
قُلُوبِكُمۡ‌ۗ
your hearts
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
عَلِيمُۢ
(is) All-Aware
بِذَاتِ
of what
ٱلصُّدُورِ
(is in) the breasts
١٥٤
Then after distress, He sent down upon you security [in the form of] drowsiness, overcoming a faction of you, while another faction worried about themselves, thinking of Allāh other than the truth - the thought of ignorance, saying, "Is there anything for us [to have done] in this matter?" Say, "Indeed, the matter belongs completely to Allāh." They conceal within themselves what they will not reveal to you. They say, "If there was anything we could have done in the matter, we [i.e., some of us] would not have been killed right here." Say, "Even if you had been inside your houses, those decreed to be killed would have come out to their death beds." [It was] so that Allāh might test what is in your breasts and purify what is in your hearts. And Allāh is Knowing of that within the breasts.
3:155
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
تَوَلَّوۡاۡ
turned back
مِنكُمۡ
among you
يَوۡمَ
(on the) day
ٱلۡتَقَى
met
ٱلۡجَمۡعَانِ
the two hosts
إِنَّمَا
only
ٱسۡتَزَلَّهُمُ
made them slip
ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنُ
the Shaitaan
بِبَعۡضِ
for some
مَا
(of) what
كَسَبُواۡ‌ۖ
they (had) earned
وَلَقَدۡ
And surely
عَفَا
forgave
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
عَنۡهُمۡ‌ۗ
[on] them
إِنَّ
indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
غَفُورٌ
(is) Oft-Forgiving
حَلِيمٌ
All-Forbearing
١٥٥
Indeed, those of you who turned back on the day the two armies met [at Uḥud] - it was Satan who caused them to slip because of some [blame] they had earned. But Allāh has already forgiven them. Indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Forbearing.
