1 Surahs7 Versesركوع 57
3:149
يَـٰٓ أَيُّهَا
O you
who
ءَامَنُوٓ اۡ
believe
إِن
If
you obey
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
يَرُدُّوكُمۡ
they will turn you back
عَلَىٰٓ
on
أَعۡقَـٰ بِكُمۡ
your heels
فَتَنق َلِبُواۡ
then you will turn back
خَـٰ سِرِي نَ
١٤٩(as) losers
O you who have believed, if you obey those who disbelieve, they will turn you back on your heels, and you will [then] become losers.
3:150
بَلِ
Nay
Allah
مَوۡلَـٰ كُمۡۖ
(is) your Protector
وَهُوَ
and He
خَيۡرُ
(is the) best
(of) the Helpers
But Allāh is your protector, and He is the best of helpers.
3:151
سَنُلۡقِى
We will cast
فِى
in
قُلُوبِ
(the) hearts
(of) those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
[the] terror
بِمَآ
because
أَشۡرَكُواۡ
they associated partners
بِٱ للَّهِ
with Allah
مَا
what
لَمۡ
not
يُنَزِّلۡ
He sent down
بِهِۦ
about it
سُلۡطَـٰ نًاۖ
any authority
and their refuge
(will be) the Fire
وَبِئۡسَ
and wretched
مَثۡوَى
(is the) abode
[of] the wrongdoers
We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve for what they have associated with Allāh of which He had not sent down [any] authority.1 And their refuge will be the Fire, and wretched is the residence of the wrongdoers.
3:152
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
صَدَقَكُمُ
fulfilled to you
Allah
وَعۡدَهُۥٓ
His promise
إِذۡ
when
تَحُسُّونَهُم
you were killing them
by His permission
حَتَّىٰٓ
until
إِذَا
when
فَشِلۡتُمۡ
you lost courage
وَتَنَـٰ زَعۡتُمۡ
and you fell into dispute
فِى
concerning
the order
وَعَصَيۡتُم
and you disobeyed
from
after
مَآ
[what]
أَرَٮٰ كُم
He (had) shown you
what
تُحِبُّونَۚ
you love
مِنك ُم
Among you
(are some) who
desire
the world
وَمِنك ُم
and among you
(are some) who
desire
the Hereafter
ثُمّ َ
Then
صَرَفَكُمۡ
He diverted you
عَنۡهُمۡ
from them
لِيَبۡ تَلِيَكُمۡۖ
so that He may test you
وَلَقَدۡ
And surely
عَفَا
He forgave
عَنك ُمۡۗ
you
وَٱ للَّهُ
And Allah
ذُو
(is the) Possessor
فَضۡلٍ
(of) Bounty
عَلَى
for
the believers
And Allāh had certainly fulfilled His promise to you when you were killing them [i.e., the enemy] by His permission until [the time] when you lost courage and fell to disputing about the order [given by the Prophet (ﷺ)] and disobeyed after He had shown you that which you love.1 Among you are some who desire this world, and among you are some who desire the Hereafter. Then He turned you back from them [defeated] that He might test you. And He has already forgiven you, and Allāh is the possessor of bounty for the believers.
3:153
۞إِذۡ
When
تُصۡعِدُونَ
you were running uphill
وَلَا
and not
تَلۡوُۥ نَ
casting a glance
عَلَىٰٓ
on
أَحَدٍ

while the Messenger
يَدۡ عُوكُمۡ
was calling you
فِىٓ
[in]
أُخۡرَٮٰ كُمۡ
(from) behind you
فَأَثَـٰ بَكُمۡ
So (He) repaid you
غَمّ َۢا
(with) distress
on distress
so that not
تَحۡزَنُواۡ
you grieve
عَلَىٰ
over
مَا
what
فَاتَكُمۡ
escaped you
وَلَا
and not
مَآ
what
أَصَـٰ بَكُمۡۗ
(had) befallen you
وَٱ للَّهُ
And Allah
خَبِيرُۢ
(is) All-Aware
of what
تَعۡمَلُو نَ
١٥٣you do
[Remember] when you [fled and] climbed [the mountain] without looking aside at anyone while the Messenger was calling you from behind. So Allāh repaid you with distress upon distress so you would not grieve for that which had escaped you [of victory and spoils of war] or [for] that which had befallen you [of injury and death]. And Allāh is [fully] Aware of what you do.
3:154
ثُمّ َ
Then
أَنز َلَ
He sent down
عَلَيۡكُم
upon you
from
after
the distress
أَمَنَةً
security
slumber
overcoming
طَا ٓئِفَةً
a group
of you
وَطَا ٓئِفَةٌ
while a group
certainly
أَهَمّ َتۡهُمۡ
worried [them]
أَنف ُسُهُمۡ
(about) themselves
يَظُنّ ُونَ
thinking
بِٱ للَّهِ
about Allah
غَيۡرَ
other than
the truth
ظَنّ َ
(the) thought
(of) [the] ignorance
يَقُولُونَ
saying
هَل
Is (there)

from
the matter
مِن
any
thing
Say
إِنّ َ
Indeed
the matter
كُلَّهُۥ
all (of) it
لِلَّهِۗ

يُخۡفُونَ
They hide
فِىٓ
in
أَنف ُسِهِم
themselves
what
لَا

They say

مِنَ
from
the matter

we would have been killed
هَـٰ هُنَاۗ
here
قُل
Say
لَّوۡ
If
كُنت ُمۡ
you were
فِى
in
بُيُوتِكُمۡ
your houses
لَبَرَزَ
surely (would have) come out
those who
كُتِبَ
was decreed
عَلَيۡهِمُ
upon them
[the] death
إِلَىٰ
towards
مَضَاجِعِهِمۡۖ
their places of death
وَلِيَبۡ تَلِىَ
And that might test
Allah
مَا
what
فِى
(is) in
صُدُورِكُمۡ
your breasts
وَلِيُمَحِّصَ
and that He may purge
مَا
what
فِى
(is) in
قُلُوبِكُمۡۗ
your hearts
وَٱ للَّهُ
And Allah
عَلِيمُۢ
(is) All-Aware
of what
(is in) the breasts
Then after distress, He sent down upon you security [in the form of] drowsiness, overcoming a faction of you, while another faction worried about themselves, thinking of Allāh other than the truth - the thought of ignorance, saying, "Is there anything for us [to have done] in this matter?" Say, "Indeed, the matter belongs completely to Allāh." They conceal within themselves what they will not reveal to you. They say, "If there was anything we could have done in the matter, we [i.e., some of us] would not have been killed right here." Say, "Even if you had been inside your houses, those decreed to be killed would have come out to their death beds." [It was] so that Allāh might test what is in your breasts and purify what is in your hearts. And Allāh is Knowing of that within the breasts.
3:155
إِنّ َ
Indeed
those who
تَوَلَّوۡاۡ
turned back
مِنك ُمۡ
among you

the two hosts
إِنّ َمَا
only
made them slip
the Shaitaan
بِبَعۡضِ
for some
مَا
(of) what
كَسَبُواۡۖ
they (had) earned
وَلَقَدۡ
And surely
عَفَا

Allah
عَنۡهُمۡۗ
[on] them
إِنّ َ
indeed
Allah
غَفُورٌ
(is) Oft-Forgiving

١٥٥All-Forbearing
Indeed, those of you who turned back on the day the two armies met [at Uḥud] - it was Satan who caused them to slip because of some [blame] they had earned. But Allāh has already forgiven them. Indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Forbearing.
