Ruku 465

1 Surahs22 Versesركوع 465
54:1
ٱقۡتَرَبَتِ
Has come near
ٱلسَّاعَةُ
the Hour
وَٱنشَقَّ
and has split
ٱلۡقَمَرُ
the moon
١
The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two].1
54:2
وَإِن
And if
يَرَوۡاۡ
they see
ءَايَةً
a Sign
يُعۡرِضُواۡ
they turn away
وَيَقُولُواۡ
and say
سِحۡرٌ
Magic
مُّسۡتَمِرٌّ
continuing
٢
And if they see a sign [i.e., miracle], they turn away and say, "Passing magic."1
54:3
وَكَذَّبُواۡ
And they denied
وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاۡ
and followed
أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡ‌ۚ
their desires
وَكُلُّ
but (for) every
أَمۡرٍ
matter
مُّسۡتَقِرٌّ
(will be a) settlement
٣
And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement.
54:4
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
جَآءَهُم
has come to them
مِّنَ
of
ٱلۡأَنۢبَآءِ
the information
مَا
wherein
فِيهِ
wherein
مُزۡدَجَرٌ
(is) deterrence
٤
And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence.
54:5
حِكۡمَةُۢ
Wisdom
بَـٰلِغَةٌ‌ۖ
perfect
فَمَا
but not
تُغۡنِ
will avail
ٱلنُّذُرُ
the warnings
٥
Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them].
54:6
فَتَوَلَّ
So turn away
عَنۡهُمۡ‌ۘ
from them
يَوۡمَ
(The) Day
يَدۡعُ
will call
ٱلدَّاعِ
the caller
إِلَىٰ
to
شَىۡءٍ
a thing
نُّكُرٍ
terrible
٦
So leave them, [O Muḥammad]. The Day the Caller1 calls to something forbidding,
54:7
خُشَّعًا
(Will be) humbled
أَبۡصَـٰرُهُمۡ
their eyes
يَخۡرُجُونَ
they will come forth
مِنَ
from
ٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِ
the graves
كَأَنَّهُمۡ
as if they (were)
جَرَادٌ
locusts
مُّنتَشِرٌ
spreading
٧
Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading,
54:8
مُّهۡطِعِينَ
Racing ahead
إِلَى
towards
ٱلدَّاعِ‌ۖ
the caller
يَقُولُ
Will say
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ
the disbelievers
هَـٰذَا
This
يَوۡمٌ
(is) a Day
عَسِرٌ
difficult
٨
Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day."
54:9
۞كَذَّبَتۡ
Denied
قَبۡلَهُمۡ
before them
قَوۡمُ
(the) people
نُوحٍ
(of) Nuh
فَكَذَّبُواۡ
and they denied
عَبۡدَنَا
Our slave
وَقَالُواۡ
and said
مَجۡنُونٌ
A madman
وَٱزۡدُجِرَ
and he was repelled
٩
The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled.
54:10
فَدَعَا
So he called
رَبَّهُۥٓ
his Lord
أَنِّى
I am
مَغۡلُوبٌ
one overpowered
فَٱنتَصِرۡ
so help
١٠
So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help."
54:11
فَفَتَحۡنَآ
So We opened
أَبۡوٰبَ
(the) gates
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
(of) heaven
بِمَآءٍ
with water
مُّنۡهَمِرٍ
pouring down
١١
Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down
54:12
وَفَجَّرۡنَا
And We caused to burst
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
the earth
عُيُونًا
(with) springs
فَٱلۡتَقَى
so met
ٱلۡمَآءُ
the water(s)
عَلَىٰٓ
for
أَمۡرٍ
a matter
قَدۡ
already
قُدِرَ
predestined
١٢
And caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestined.
54:13
وَحَمَلۡنَـٰهُ
And We carried him
عَلَىٰ
on
ذَاتِ
(ark) made of planks
أَلۡوٰحٍ
(ark) made of planks
وَدُسُرٍ
and nails
١٣
And We carried him on a [construction of] planks and nails,
54:14
تَجۡرِى
Sailing
بِأَعۡيُنِنَا
before Our eyes
جَزَآءً
a reward
لِّمَن
for (he) who
كَانَ
was
كُفِرَ
denied
١٤
Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied.
54:15
وَلَقَد
And certainly
تَّرَكۡنَـٰهَآ
We left it
ءَايَةً
(as) a Sign
فَهَلۡ
so is (there)
مِن
any
مُّدَّكِرٍ
who will receive admonition
١٥
And We left it as a sign, so is there any who will remember?
54:16
فَكَيۡفَ
So how
كَانَ
was
عَذَابِى
My punishment
وَنُذُرِ
and My warnings
١٦
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.1
54:17
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
يَسَّرۡنَا
We have made easy
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ
the Quran
لِلذِّكۡرِ
for remembrance
فَهَلۡ
so is (there)
مِن
any
مُّدَّكِرٍ
who will receive admonition
١٧
And We have certainly made the Qur’ān easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?
54:18
كَذَّبَتۡ
Denied
عَادٌ
Aad
فَكَيۡفَ
so how
كَانَ
was
عَذَابِى
My punishment
وَنُذُرِ
and My warnings
١٨
ʿAad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
54:19
إِنَّآ
Indeed, We
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
[We] sent
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
upon them
رِيحًا
a wind
صَرۡصَرًا
furious
فِى
on
يَوۡمِ
a day
نَحۡسٍ
(of) misfortune
مُّسۡتَمِرٍّ
continuous
١٩
Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune,
54:20
تَنزِعُ
Plucking out
ٱلنَّاسَ
men
كَأَنَّهُمۡ
as if they (were)
أَعۡجَازُ
trunks
نَخۡلٍ
(of) date-palms
مُّنقَعِرٍ
uprooted
٢٠
Extracting the people1 as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted.
54:21
فَكَيۡفَ
So how
كَانَ
was
عَذَابِى
My punishment
وَنُذُرِ
and My warnings
٢١
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
54:22
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
يَسَّرۡنَا
We have made easy
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ
the Quran
لِلذِّكۡرِ
for remembrance
فَهَلۡ
so is (there)
مِن
any
مُّدَّكِرٍ
who will receive admonition
٢٢
And We have certainly made the Qur’ān easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?
