1 Surahs22 Versesركوع 465
54:1
ٱقۡ تَرَبَتِ
Has come near
the Hour
وَٱ نش َقَّ
and has split
the moon
The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two].1
54:2
وَإِن
And if
they see
ءَايَةً
a Sign
they turn away
وَيَقُولُواۡ
and say
سِحۡرٌ
Magic
continuing
And if they see a sign [i.e., miracle], they turn away and say, "Passing magic."1
54:3
وَكَذَّبُواۡ
And they denied
وَٱ تَّبَعُوٓ اۡ
and followed
أَهۡوَا ٓءَهُمۡۚ
their desires
وَكُلُّ
but (for) every
أَمۡرٍ
matter
(will be a) settlement
And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement.
54:4
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
جَا ٓءَهُم
has come to them
of
the information
مَا
wherein
فِيهِ
wherein
مُزۡدَجَرٌ
٤(is) deterrence
And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence.
54:5
حِكۡمَةُۢ
Wisdom
perfect
but not
تُغۡنِ
will avail
the warnings
Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them].
54:6
فَتَوَلَّ
So turn away
عَنۡهُمۡۘ
from them
يَوۡمَ
(The) Day
يَدۡ عُ
will call
the caller
إِلَىٰ
to
شَىۡءٍ
a thing
terrible
So leave them, [O Muḥammad]. The Day the Caller1 calls to something forbidding,
54:7
خُشَّعًا
(Will be) humbled
أَبۡ صَـٰ رُهُمۡ
their eyes
يَخۡرُجُونَ
they will come forth
مِنَ
from
the graves
كَأَنّ َهُمۡ
as if they (were)
جَرَادٌ
locusts
spreading
Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading,
54:8
مُّهۡطِعِينَ
Racing ahead
إِلَى
towards
the caller
يَقُولُ
Will say
the disbelievers
هَـٰ ذَا
This
يَوۡمٌ
(is) a Day
عَسِرٌ
٨difficult
Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day."
54:9
۞كَذَّبَتۡ
Denied
قَبۡ لَهُمۡ
before them
قَوۡمُ
(the) people
نُوحٍ
(of) Nuh
and they denied
عَبۡ دَنَا
Our slave
وَقَالُواۡ
and said
مَجۡ نُونٌ
A madman
and he was repelled
The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled.
54:10
فَدَعَا
So he called
رَبَّهُۥٓ
his Lord
أَنّ ِى
I am
مَغۡلُوبٌ
one overpowered
so help
So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help."
54:11
فَفَتَحۡنَآ
So We opened
أَبۡ وٰ بَ
(the) gates
(of) heaven
بِمَا ٓءٍ
with water
pouring down
Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down
54:12
وَفَجَّرۡنَا
And We caused to burst
the earth
عُيُونًا
(with) springs
so met
the water(s)
عَلَىٰٓ
for
أَمۡرٍ
a matter
already
قُدِرَ
١٢predestined
And caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestined.
54:13
وَحَمَلۡنَـٰ هُ
And We carried him
عَلَىٰ
on
ذَاتِ
(ark) made of planks
أَلۡوٰ حٍ
(ark) made of planks
and nails
And We carried him on a [construction of] planks and nails,
54:14
تَجۡ رِى
Sailing
بِأَعۡيُنِنَا
before Our eyes
جَزَا ٓءً
a reward
for (he) who
was
كُفِرَ
١٤denied
Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied.
54:15
وَلَقَد
And certainly
تَّرَكۡنَـٰ هَآ
We left it
ءَايَةً
(as) a Sign
so is (there)
مِن
any
who will receive admonition
And We left it as a sign, so is there any who will remember?
54:16
فَكَيۡفَ
So how
كَانَ
was
عَذَابِى
My punishment
وَنُذُرِ
١٦and My warnings
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.1
54:17
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
يَسَّرۡنَا
We have made easy
the Quran
لِلذِّكۡرِ
for remembrance
فَهَلۡ
so is (there)
مِن
any
who will receive admonition
And We have certainly made the Qur’ān easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?
54:18
كَذَّبَتۡ
Denied
عَادٌ
Aad
so how
كَانَ
was
عَذَابِى
My punishment
وَنُذُرِ
١٨and My warnings
ʿAad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
54:19
إِنّ َآ
Indeed, We
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
[We] sent
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
upon them
رِيحًا
a wind
furious
on
يَوۡمِ
a day
نَحۡسٍ
(of) misfortune
continuous
Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune,
54:20
تَنز ِعُ
Plucking out
men
كَأَنّ َهُمۡ
as if they (were)
أَعۡجَازُ
trunks
نَخۡلٍ
(of) date-palms
uprooted
Extracting the people1 as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted.
54:21
فَكَيۡفَ
So how
كَانَ
was
عَذَابِى
My punishment
وَنُذُرِ
٢١and My warnings
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
54:22
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
يَسَّرۡنَا
We have made easy
the Quran
لِلذِّكۡرِ
for remembrance
فَهَلۡ
so is (there)
مِن
any
who will receive admonition
And We have certainly made the Qur’ān easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?
