Ruku 409

1 Surahs10 Versesركوع 409
40:28
وَقَالَ
And said
رَجُلٌ
a man
مُّؤۡمِنٌ
believing
مِّنۡ
from
ءَالِ
(the) family
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
(of) Firaun
يَكۡتُمُ
who conceal(ed)
إِيمَـٰنَهُۥٓ
his faith
أَتَقۡتُلُونَ
Will you kill
رَجُلاً
a man
أَن
because
يَقُولَ
he says
رَبِّىَ
My Lord
ٱللَّهُ
(is) Allah
وَقَدۡ
and indeed
جَآءَكُم
he has brought you
بِٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتِ
clear proofs
مِن
from
رَّبِّكُمۡۖ
your Lord
وَإِن
And if
يَكُ
he is
كَـٰذِبًا
a liar
فَعَلَيۡهِ
then upon him
كَذِبُهُۥۖ
(is) his lie
وَإِن
and if
يَكُ
he is
صَادِقًا
truthful
يُصِبۡكُم
(there) will strike you
بَعۡضُ
some (of)
ٱلَّذِى
(that) which
يَعِدُكُمۡۖ
he threatens you
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
لَا
(does) not
يَهۡدِى
guide
مَنۡ
(one) who
هُوَ
[he]
مُسۡرِفٌ
(is) a transgressor
كَذَّابٌ
a liar
٢٨
And a believing man from the family of Pharaoh who concealed his faith said, "Do you kill a man [merely] because he says, 'My Lord is Allāh' while he has brought you clear proofs from your Lord? And if he should be lying, then upon him is [the consequence of] his lie; but if he should be truthful, there will strike you some of what he promises you. Indeed, Allāh does not guide one who is a transgressor and a liar.
40:29
يَـٰقَوۡمِ
O my people
لَكُمُ
For you
ٱلۡمُلۡكُ
(is) the kingdom
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
today
ظَـٰهِرِينَ
dominant
فِى
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
the land
فَمَن
but who
يَنصُرُنَا
will help us
مِنۢ
from
بَأۡسِ
(the) punishment
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
إِن
if
جَآءَنَاۚ
it came to us
قَالَ
Said
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
Firaun
مَآ
Not
أُرِيكُمۡ
I show you
إِلَّا
except
مَآ
what
أَرَىٰ
I see
وَمَآ
and not
أَهۡدِيكُمۡ
I guide you
إِلَّا
except
سَبِيلَ
(to the) path
ٱلرَّشَادِ
the right
٢٩
O my people, sovereignty is yours today, [your being] dominant in the land. But who would protect us from the punishment of Allāh if it came to us?" Pharaoh said, "I do not show you except what I see, and I do not guide you except to the way of right conduct."
40:30
وَقَالَ
And said
ٱلَّذِىٓ
(he) who
ءَامَنَ
believed
يَـٰقَوۡمِ
O my people
إِنِّىٓ
Indeed I
أَخَافُ
[I] fear
عَلَيۡكُم
for you
مِّثۡلَ
like
يَوۡمِ
(the) day
ٱلۡأَحۡزَابِ
(of) the companies
٣٠
And he who believed said, "O my people, indeed I fear for you [a fate] like the day of the companies1 -
40:31
مِثۡلَ
Like
دَأۡبِ
(the) plight
قَوۡمِ
(of the) people
نُوحٍ
(of) Nuh
وَعَادٍ
and Aad
وَثَمُودَ
and Thamud
وَٱلَّذِينَ
and those
مِنۢ
after them
بَعۡدِهِمۡۚ
after them
وَمَا
And Allah (does) not
ٱللَّهُ
And Allah (does) not
يُرِيدُ
want
ظُلۡمًا
injustice
لِّلۡعِبَادِ
for (His) slaves
٣١
Like the custom of the people of Noah and of ʿAad and Thamūd and those after them. And Allāh wants no injustice for [His] servants.
40:32
وَيَـٰقَوۡمِ
And O my people
إِنِّىٓ
Indeed, I
أَخَافُ
[I] fear
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
for you
يَوۡمَ
(the) Day
ٱلتَّنَادِ
(of) Calling
٣٢
And O my people, indeed I fear for you the Day of Calling1 -
40:33
يَوۡمَ
A Day
تُوَلُّونَ
you will turn back
مُدۡبِرِينَ
fleeing
مَا
not
لَكُم
for you
مِّنَ
from
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
مِنۡ
any
عَاصِمٍۗ
protector
وَمَن
And whoever
يُضۡلِلِ
Allah lets go astray
ٱللَّهُ
Allah lets go astray
فَمَا
then not
لَهُۥ
for him
مِنۡ
any
هَادٍ
guide
٣٣
The Day you will turn your backs fleeing; there is not for you from Allāh any protector. And whoever Allāh sends astray - there is not for him any guide.
40:34
وَلَقَدۡ
And indeed
جَآءَكُمۡ
came to you
يُوسُفُ
Yusuf
مِن
before
قَبۡلُ
before
بِٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتِ
with clear proofs
فَمَا
but not
زِلۡتُمۡ
you ceased
فِى
in
شَكٍّ
doubt
مِّمَّا
about what
جَآءَكُم
he brought to you
بِهِۦۖ
[with it]
حَتَّىٰٓ
until
إِذَا
when
هَلَكَ
he died
قُلۡتُمۡ
you said
لَن
Never
يَبۡعَثَ
will Allah raise
ٱللَّهُ
will Allah raise
مِنۢ
after him
بَعۡدِهِۦ
after him
رَسُوۚلاً
a Messenger
كَذٰلِكَ
Thus
يُضِلُّ
Allah lets go astray
ٱللَّهُ
Allah lets go astray
مَنۡ
who
هُوَ
[he]
مُسۡرِفٌ
(is) a transgressor
مُّرۡتَابٌ
a doubter
٣٤
And Joseph had already come to you before with clear proofs, but you remained in doubt of that which he brought to you, until when he died, you said, 'Never will Allāh send a messenger after him.' Thus does Allāh leave astray he who is a transgressor and skeptic."
40:35
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
يُجَـٰدِلُونَ
dispute
فِىٓ
concerning
ءَايَـٰتِ
(the) Signs
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
بِغَيۡرِ
without
سُلۡطَـٰنٍ
any authority
أَتَـٰهُمۡۖ
(having) come to them
كَبُرَ
(it) is greatly
مَقۡتًا
hateful
عِندَ
near Allah
ٱللَّهِ
near Allah
وَعِندَ
and near
ٱلَّذِينَ
those
ءَامَنُواۡۚ
who believe
كَذٰلِكَ
Thus
يَطۡبَعُ
Allah sets a seal
ٱللَّهُ
Allah sets a seal
عَلَىٰ
over
كُلِّ
every
قَلۡبِ
heart
مُتَكَبِّرٍ
(of) an arrogant
جَبَّارٍ
tyrant
٣٥
Those who dispute concerning the signs of Allāh without an authority1 having come to them - great is hatred [of them] in the sight of Allāh and in the sight of those who have believed. Thus does Allāh seal over every heart [belonging to] an arrogant tyrant.
40:36
وَقَالَ
And said
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
Firaun
يَـٰهَـٰمَـٰنُ
O Haman
ٱبۡنِ
Construct
لِى
for me
صَرۡحًا
a tower
لَّعَلِّىٓ
that I may
أَبۡلُغُ
reach
ٱلۡأَسۡبَـٰبَ
the ways
٣٦
And Pharaoh said, "O Hāmān, construct for me a tower that I might reach the ways1 -
40:37
أَسۡبَـٰبَ
(The) ways
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
(to) the heavens
فَأَطَّلِعَ
so I may look
إِلَىٰٓ
at
إِلَـٰهِ
(the) God
مُوسَىٰ
(of) Musa
وَإِنِّى
and indeed, I
لَأَظُنُّهُۥ
[I] surely think him
كَـٰذِبًاۚ
(to be) a liar
وَكَذٰلِكَ
And thus
زُيِّنَ
was made fair-seeming
لِفِرۡعَوۡنَ
to Firaun
سُوٓءُ
(the) evil
عَمَلِهِۦ
(of) his deed
وَصُدَّ
and he was averted
عَنِ
from
ٱلسَّبِيلِۚ
the way
وَمَا
And not
كَيۡدُ
(was the) plot
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
(of) Firaun
إِلَّا
except
فِى
in
تَبَابٍ
ruin
٣٧
The ways into the heavens - so that I may look at the deity of Moses; but indeed, I think he is a liar." And thus was made attractive to Pharaoh the evil of his deed, and he was averted from the [right] way. And the plan of Pharaoh was not except in ruin.
