1 Surahs15 Versesركوع 274
20:90
وَلَقَدۡ
And verily
قَالَ
(had) said
لَهُمۡ
to them
هَـٰ رُونُ
Harun
مِن
before
before
يَـٰ قَوۡمِ
O my people
إِنّ َمَا
Only
فُتِنت ُم
you are being tested
by it
وَإِنّ َ
and indeed
رَبَّكُمُ
your Lord
(is) the Most Gracious
فَٱ تَّبِعُونِى
so follow me
وَأَطِيعُوٓ اۡ
and obey
أَمۡرِى
٩٠my order
And Aaron had already told them before [the return of Moses], "O my people, you are only being tested by it, and indeed, your Lord is the Most Merciful, so follow me and obey my order."
20:91
قَالُواۡ
They said
لَن
Never
we will cease
عَلَيۡهِ
being devoted to it
عَـٰ كِفِينَ
being devoted to it
حَتَّىٰ
until
يَرۡجِعَ
returns
إِلَيۡنَا
to us
مُوسَىٰ
٩١Musa
They said, "We will never cease being devoted to it [i.e., the calf] until Moses returns to us."
20:92
قَالَ
He said
يَـٰ هَـٰ رُونُ
O Harun
مَا
What
مَنَعَكَ
prevented you
إِذۡ
when
رَأَيۡتَهُمۡ
you saw them
ضَلُّوٓاۡ
٩٢going astray
[Moses] said, "O Aaron, what prevented you, when you saw them going astray,
20:93
أَلَّا
That not
تَتَّبِعَنِۖ
you follow me
أَفَعَصَيۡتَ
Then, have you disobeyed
أَمۡرِى
٩٣my order
From following me? Then have you disobeyed my order?"
20:94
قَالَ
He said
يَبۡ نَؤُمّ َ
O son of my mother
لَا
(Do) not
تَأۡخُذۡ
seize (me)
بِلِحۡيَتِى
by my beard
وَلَا
and not
بِرَأۡسِىٓۖ
by my head
إِنّ ِى
Indeed, I
خَشِيتُ
[I] feared
أَن
that
you would say
فَرَّقۡ تَ
You caused division
بَيۡنَ
between
بَنِىٓ
(the) Children of Israel
إِسۡرٰ ٓءِيلَ
(the) Children of Israel
وَلَمۡ
and not
تَرۡقُبۡ
you respect
قَوۡلِى
٩٤my word
[Aaron] said, "O son of my mother, do not seize [me] by my beard or by my head. Indeed, I feared that you would say, 'You caused division among the Children of Israel, and you did not observe [or await] my word.'"
20:95
قَالَ
He said
فَمَا
Then what
خَطۡ بُكَ
(is) your case
يَـٰ سَـٰ مِرِىُّ
٩٥O Samiri
[Moses] said, "And what is your case, O Sāmirī?"
20:96
قَالَ
He said
بَصُرۡتُ
I perceived
بِمَا
what
لَمۡ
not
يَبۡ صُرُواۡ
they perceive
بِهِۦ
in it
فَقَبَضۡتُ
so I took
قَبۡ ضَةً
a handful
from
أَثَرِ
(the) track
(of) the Messenger
فَنَبَذۡتُهَا
then threw it
وَكَذٰ لِكَ
and thus
سَوَّلَتۡ
suggested
لِى
to me
نَفۡسِى
٩٦my soul
He said, "I saw what they did not see, so I took a handful [of dust] from the track of the messenger1 and threw it,2 and thus did my soul entice me."
20:97
قَالَ
He said
فَٱ ذۡهَبۡ
Then go
فَإِنّ َ
And indeed
لَكَ
for you
فِى
in
the life
أَن
that
you will say
لَا
(Do) not
مِسَاسَۖ
touch
وَإِنّ َ
And indeed
لَكَ
for you
مَوۡعِدًا
(is) an appointment
never
you will fail to (keep) it
وَٱ نظ ُرۡ
And look
إِلَىٰٓ
at
إِلَـٰ هِكَ
your god
that which
ظَلۡتَ
you have remained
عَلَيۡهِ
to it
عَاكِفًاۖ
devoted
Surely we will burn it
ثُمّ َ
then
لَنَنس ِفَنّ َهُۥ
certainly we will scatter it
فِى
in
the sea
نَسۡفًا
٩٧(in) particles
[Moses] said, "Then go. And indeed, it is [decreed] for you in [this] life to say, 'No contact.'1 And indeed, you have an appointment [in the Hereafter] you will not fail to keep. And look at your 'god' to which you remained devoted. We will surely burn it and blow it [i.e., its ashes] into the sea with a blast.
20:98
إِنّ َمَآ
Only
إِلَـٰ هُكُمُ
your God
(is) Allah
the One
لَآ
(there is) no
إِلَـٰ هَ
god
إِلَّا
but
هُوَۚ
He
وَسِعَ
He has encompassed
كُلَّ
all
شَىۡءٍ
things
عِلۡمًا
٩٨(in) knowledge
Your god is only Allāh, except for whom there is no deity. He has encompassed all things in knowledge."
20:99
كَذٰ لِكَ
Thus
نَقُصُّ
We relate
عَلَيۡكَ
to you
مِنۡ
from
أَنۢب َا ٓءِ
(the) news
مَا
(of) what
قَدۡ
has preceded
سَبَقَۚ
has preceded
وَقَدۡ
And certainly
ءَاتَيۡنَـٰ كَ
We have given you
مِن
from
Us
ذِكۡرًا
٩٩a Reminder
Thus, [O Muḥammad], We relate to you from the news of what has preceded. And We have certainly given you from Us a message [i.e., the Qur’ān].
20:100
مَّنۡ
Whoever
أَعۡرَضَ
turns away
عَنۡهُ
from it
فَإِنّ َهُۥ
then indeed, he
يَحۡمِلُ
will bear
يَوۡمَ
(on the) Day
(of) Resurrection
وِزۡرًا
١٠٠a burden
Whoever turns away from it - then indeed, he will bear on the Day of Resurrection a burden [i.e., great sin],
20:101
خَـٰ لِدِينَ
Abiding forever
فِيهِۖ
in it
وَسَا ٓءَ
and evil
لَهُمۡ
for them
يَوۡمَ
(on the) Day
(of) the Resurrection
حِمۡلاً
١٠١(as) a load
[Abiding] eternally therein,1 and evil it is for them on the Day of Resurrection as a load -
20:102
يَوۡمَ
(The) Day
يُنف َخُ
will be blown
فِى
in
the Trumpet
وَنَحۡشُرُ
and We will gather
the criminals
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
blue-eyed
The Day the Horn will be blown. And We will gather the criminals, that Day, blue-eyed.1
20:103
يَتَخَـٰ فَتُونَ
They are murmuring
بَيۡنَهُمۡ
among themselves
إِن
Not
you remained
إِلَّا
except (for)
عَشۡرًا
١٠٣ten
They will murmur among themselves, "You remained not but ten [days in the world]."
20:104
نَّحۡنُ
We
أَعۡلَمُ
know best
بِمَا
what
يَقُولُونَ
they will say
إِذۡ
when
يَقُولُ
will say
أَمۡثَلُهُمۡ
(the) best of them
طَرِيقَةً
(in) conduct
إِن
Not
you remained
إِلَّا
except (for)
يَوۡمًا
١٠٤a day
We are most knowing of what they say when the best of them in manner [i.e., wisdom or speech] will say, "You remained not but one day."
