1 Surahs25 Versesركوع 265
19:16
وَٱ ذۡكُرۡ
And mention
فِى
in
the Book
مَرۡيَمَ
Maryam
إِذِ
when
she withdrew
مِنۡ
from
أَهۡلِهَا
her family
مَكَانًا
(to) a place
eastern
And mention, [O Muḥammad], in the Book [the story of] Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place toward the east.
19:17
فَٱ تَّخَذَتۡ
Then she took
مِن
from them
from them
حِجَابًا
a screen
Then We sent
إِلَيۡهَا
to her
رُوحَنَا
Our Spirit
فَتَمَثَّلَ
then he assumed for her the likeness
لَهَا
then he assumed for her the likeness
بَشَرًا
(of) a man
well-proportioned
And she took, in seclusion from them, a screen. Then We sent to her Our Angel [i.e., Gabriel], and he represented himself to her as a well-proportioned man.
19:18
قَالَتۡ
She said
إِنّ ِىٓ
Indeed, I
أَعُوذُ
[I] seek refuge
بِٱ ل رَّحۡمَـٰ نِ
with the Most Gracious
مِنك َ
from you
إِن
if
you are
تَقِيًّا
١٨God fearing
She said, "Indeed, I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from you, [so leave me], if you should be fearing of Allāh."
19:19
قَالَ
He said
إِنّ َمَآ
Only
أَنَاۡ
I am
رَسُولُ
a Messenger
رَبِّكِ
(from) your Lord
لِأَهَبَ
that I (may) bestow
لَكِ
on you
غُلَـٰ مًا
a son
pure
He said, "I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy [i.e., son]."
19:20
قَالَتۡ
She said
أَنّ َىٰ
How
يَكُونُ
can be
لِى
for me
غُلَـٰ مٌ
a son
when not
يَمۡسَسۡنِى
has touched me
بَشَرٌ
a man
and not
أَكُ
I am
بَغِيًّا
٢٠unchaste
She said, "How can I have a boy while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?"
19:21
قَالَ
He said
كَذٰ لِكِ
Thus
قَالَ
said
رَبُّكِ
your Lord
هُوَ
'It
عَلَىَّ
(is) for Me
هَيِّنٌۖ
easy
and so that We will make him
ءَايَةً
a sign
for the mankind
وَرَحۡمَةً
and a Mercy
from Us
وَكَانَ
And (it) is
أَمۡرًا
a matter
decreed.'
He said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.'"
19:22
۞فَحَمَلَتۡهُ
So she conceived him
فَٱ نت َبَذَتۡ
and she withdrew
بِهِۦ
with him
مَكَانًا
(to) a place
remote
So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a remote place.
19:23
فَأَجَا ٓءَهَا
Then drove her
the pains of childbirth
إِلَىٰ
to
جِذۡعِ
(the) trunk
(of) the date-palm
قَالَتۡ
She said
يَـٰ لَيۡتَنِى
O! I wish
مِتُّ
I (had) died
قَبۡ لَ
before
هَـٰ ذَا
this
وَكُنت ُ
and I was
نَسۡيًا
(in) oblivion
forgotten
And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She said, "Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten."
19:24
فَنَادَٮٰ هَا
So cried to her
مِن
from
beneath her
أَلَّا
That (do) not
تَحۡزَنِى
grieve
قَدۡ
verily
جَعَلَ
(has) placed
رَبُّكِ
your Lord
تَحۡتَكِ
beneath you
سَرِيًّا
٢٤a stream
But he1 called her from below her, "Do not grieve; your Lord has provided beneath you a stream.
19:25
وَهُزِّىٓ
And shake
إِلَيۡكِ
towards you
بِجِذۡعِ
(the) trunk
(of) the date-palm
تُسَـٰ قِطۡ
it will drop
عَلَيۡكِ
upon you
رُطَبًا
fresh dates
ripe
And shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates.
19:26
فَكُلِى
So eat
وَٱ شۡرَبِى
and drink
وَقَرِّى
and cool
عَيۡنًاۖ
(your) eyes
And if
تَرَيِنّ َ
you see
مِنَ
from
human being
أَحَدًا
anyone
then say
إِنّ ِى
Indeed, I
نَذَرۡتُ
[I] have vowed
لِلرَّحۡمَـٰ نِ
to the Most Gracious
صَوۡمًا
a fast
so not
أُكَلِّمَ
I will speak
today
إِنس ِيًّا
٢٦(to any) human being
So eat and drink and be contented. And if you see from among humanity anyone, say, 'Indeed, I have vowed to the Most Merciful abstention, so I will not speak today to [any] man.'"
19:27
فَأَتَتۡ
Then she came
بِهِۦ
with him
قَوۡمَهَا
(to) her people
تَحۡمِلُهُۥ ۖ
carrying him
قَالُواۡ
They said
يَـٰ مَرۡيَمُ
O Maryam
لَقَدۡ
Certainly
جِئۡتِ
you (have) brought
شَيۡــًٔا
an amazing thing
an amazing thing
Then she brought him to her people, carrying him. They said, "O Mary, you have certainly done a thing unprecedented.
19:28
يَـٰٓ أُخۡتَ
O sister
هَـٰ رُونَ
(of) Harun
مَا
Not
كَانَ
was
أَبُوكِ
your father
an evil man
سَوۡءٍ
an evil man
and not
كَانَتۡ
was
أُمّ ُكِ
your mother
بَغِيًّا
٢٨unchaste
O sister [i.e., descendant] of Aaron, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste."
19:29
فَأَشَارَتۡ
Then she pointed
إِلَيۡهِۖ
to him
قَالُواۡ
They said
كَيۡفَ
How
نُكَلِّمُ
(can) we speak
مَن
(to one) who
is
فِى
in
the cradle
صَبِيًّا
٢٩a child
So she pointed to him. They said, "How can we speak to one who is in the cradle a child?"
19:30
قَالَ
He said
إِنّ ِى
Indeed, I am
عَبۡ دُ
a slave
(of) Allah
ءَاتَـٰ نِىَ
He gave me
the Scripture
وَجَعَلَنِى
and made me
نَبِيًّا
٣٠a Prophet
[Jesus] said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allāh. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet.
19:31
وَجَعَلَنِى
And He (has) made me
مُبَارَكًا
blessed
أَيۡنَ
wherever
مَا
wherever
كُنت ُ
I am
وَأَوۡصَـٰ نِى
and has enjoined (on) me
بِٱ ل صَّلَو ٰ ةِ
[of] the prayer
وَٱ ل زَّكَو ٰ ةِ
and zakah
مَا
as long as I am
دُمۡتُ
as long as I am
حَيًّا
٣١alive
And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and zakāh as long as I remain alive
19:32
وَبَرَّۢا
And dutiful
to my mother
وَلَمۡ
and not
يَجۡ عَلۡنِى
He (has) made me
جَبَّارًا
insolent
unblessed
And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant.
19:33
وَٱ ل سَّلَـٰ مُ
And peace (be)
عَلَىَّ
on me
يَوۡمَ
(the) day
وُلِد تُّ
I was born
وَيَوۡمَ
and (the) day
أَمُوتُ
I will die
وَيَوۡمَ
and (the) Day
أُبۡ عَثُ
I will be raised
حَيًّا
٣٣alive
And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive."
19:34
ذٰ لِكَ
That
عِيسَى
(was) Isa
(the) son
مَرۡيَمَۚ
(of) Maryam
قَوۡلَ
a statement
(of) truth
that which
فِيهِ
about it
يَمۡتَرُو نَ
٣٤they dispute
That is Jesus, the son of Mary - the word of truth about which they are in dispute.
19:35
مَا
Not
كَانَ
(it) is
لِلَّهِ
for Allah
أَن
that
He should take
مِن
any son
any son
Glory be to Him
إِذَا
When
قَضَىٰٓ
He decrees
أَمۡرًا
a matter
then only
يَقُولُ
He says
لَهُۥ
to it
كُن
Be
and it is
It is not [befitting] for Allāh to take a son; exalted is He!1 When He decrees an affair, He only says to it, "Be," and it is.
19:36
وَإِنّ َ
And indeed
Allah
رَبِّى
(is) my Lord
وَرَبُّكُمۡ
and your Lord
فَٱ عۡبُدُوهُۚ
so worship Him
هَـٰ ذَا
This
صِرٰ طٌ
(is) a path
straight
[Jesus said], "And indeed, Allāh is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path."
19:37
فَٱ خۡتَلَفَ
But differed
the sects
مِنۢ
from among them
from among them
فَوَيۡلٌ
so woe
to those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
مِن
from
(the) witnessing
يَوۡمٍ
(of) a Day
عَظِي مٍ
٣٧great
Then the factions differed [concerning Jesus] from among them, so woe to those who disbelieved - from the scene of a tremendous Day.
19:38
أَسۡمِعۡ
How they will hear
بِهِمۡ
How they will hear
وَأَبۡ صِرۡ
and how (they will) see
يَوۡمَ
(the) Day
يَأۡتُونَنَاۖ
they will come to Us
لَـٰ كِنِ
but
the wrongdoers
today
فِى
(are) in
ضَلَـٰ لٍ
error
clear
How [clearly] they will hear and see the Day they come to Us, but the wrongdoers today are in clear error.
19:39
وَأَنذ ِرۡهُمۡ
And warn them
يَوۡمَ
(of the) Day
(of) the Regret
إِذۡ
when
قُضِىَ
has been decided
the matter
وَهُمۡ
And they
فِى
(are) in
غَفۡلَةٍ
heedlessness
and they
لَا
(do) not
يُؤۡمِنُو نَ
٣٩believe
And warn them, [O Muḥammad], of the Day of Regret, when the matter will be concluded;1 and [yet], they are in [a state of] heedlessness, and they do not believe.
19:40
إِنّ َا
Indeed, We
نَحۡنُ
[We]
نَرِثُ
[We] will inherit
the earth
وَمَنۡ
and whoever
عَلَيۡهَا
(is) on it
وَإِلَيۡنَا
and to Us
يُرۡجَعُو نَ
٤٠they will be returned
Indeed, it is We who will inherit the earth and whoever is on it, and to Us they will be returned.
