1 Surahs11 Versesركوع 260
18:60
وَإِذۡ
And when
قَالَ
said
مُوسَىٰ
Musa
لِفَتَـٰ هُ
to his boy
لَآ
Not
أَبۡ رَحُ
I will cease
حَتَّىٰٓ
until
أَبۡ لُغَ
I reach
مَجۡ مَعَ
the junction
(of) the two seas
أَوۡ
or
أَمۡضِىَ
I continue
حُقُبًا
٦٠(for) a long period
And [mention] when Moses said to his boy [i.e., servant], "I will not cease [traveling] until I reach the junction of the two seas or continue for a long period."
18:61
فَلَمّ َا
But when
بَلَغَا
they reached
مَجۡ مَعَ
the junction
بَيۡنِهِمَا
between them
نَسِيَا
they forgot
حُوتَهُمَا
their fish
فَٱ تَّخَذَ
and it took
سَبِيلَهُۥ
its way
فِى
into
the sea
سَرَبًا
٦١slipping away
But when they reached the junction between them, they forgot their fish, and it took its course into the sea, slipping away.
18:62
فَلَمّ َا
Then when
جَاوَزَا
they had passed beyond
قَالَ
he said
لِفَتَـٰ هُ
to his boy
ءَاتِنَا
Bring us
غَدَا ٓءَنَا
our morning meal
لَقَدۡ
Certainly
لَقِينَا
we have suffered
مِن
in
our journey
هَـٰ ذَا
this
نَصَبًا
٦٢fatigue
So when they had passed beyond it, [Moses] said to his boy, "Bring us our morning meal. We have certainly suffered in this, our journey, [much] fatigue."
18:63
قَالَ
He said
أَرَءَيۡتَ
Did you see
إِذۡ
when
أَوَيۡنَآ
we retired
إِلَى
to
the rock
فَإِنّ ِى
Then indeed, I
نَسِيتُ
[I] forgot
the fish
وَمَآ
And not
أَنۡسَـٰ نِيهُ
made me forget it
إِلَّا
except
the Shaitaan
أَنۡ
that
أَذۡكُرَهُۥ ۚ
I mention it
وَٱ تَّخَذَ
And it took
سَبِيلَهُۥ
its way
فِى
into
the sea
عَجَبًا
٦٣amazingly
He said, "Did you see when we retired to the rock? Indeed, I forgot [there] the fish. And none made me forget it except Satan - that I should mention it. And it took its course into the sea amazingly."
18:64
قَالَ
He said
ذٰ لِكَ
That
مَا
(is) what
كُنّ َا
we were
نَبۡ غِۚ
seeking
فَٱ رۡتَدَّا
So they returned
عَلَىٰٓ
on
ءَاثَارِهِمَا
their footprints
قَصَصًا
٦٤retracing
[Moses] said, "That is what we were seeking." So they returned, following their footprints.
18:65
فَوَجَدَا
Then they found
عَبۡ دًا
a servant
from
عِبَادِنَآ
Our servants
ءَاتَيۡنَـٰ هُ
whom We had given
رَحۡمَةً
mercy
from
عِند ِنَا
Us
وَعَلَّمۡنَـٰ هُ
and We had taught him
مِن
from
Us
عِلۡمًا
٦٥a knowledge
And they found a servant from among Our servants [i.e., al-Khiḍr] to whom We had given mercy from Us and had taught him from Us a [certain] knowledge.
18:66

٦٧(to have) patience
He said, "Indeed, with me you will never be able to have patience.
18:68
وَكَيۡفَ
And how can

you have patience
عَلَىٰ

And how can you have patience for what you do not encompass in knowledge?"
