Ruku 238
1 Surahs9 Versesركوع 238
16:111
۞يَوۡمَ
(On) the Day
تَأۡتِى
(when) will come
كُلُّ
every
نَفۡسٍ
soul
pleading
عَن
for
itself
وَتُوَفَّىٰ
and will be paid in full
كُلُّ
every
نَفۡسٍ
soul
what
عَمِلَتۡ
it did
وَهُمۡ
and they
لَا
(will) not
يُظۡلَمُو نَ
١١١be wronged
On the Day when every soul will come disputing [i.e., pleading] for itself, and every soul will be fully compensated for what it did, and they will not be wronged [i.e., treated unjustly].
16:112
وَضَرَبَ
And Allah sets forth
And Allah sets forth
مَثَلاً
a similitude
(of) a town
(that) was
ءَامِنَةً
secure
and content
coming to it
رِزۡقُهَا
its provision
رَغَدًا
(in) abundance
from
every
مَكَانٍ
place
but it denied
بِأَنۡعُمِ
(the) Favors of Allah
(the) Favors of Allah
فَأَذٰ قَهَا
so Allah made it taste
so Allah made it taste
لِبَاسَ
(the) garb
(of) the hunger
وَٱ لۡخَوۡفِ
and the fear
بِمَا
for what
كَانُواۡ
they used (to)
يَصۡنَعُو نَ
١١٢do
And Allāh presents an example: a city [i.e., Makkah] which was safe and secure, its provision coming to it in abundance from every location, but it denied the favors of Allāh. So Allāh made it taste the envelopment of hunger and fear for what they had been doing.
16:113
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
جَا ٓءَهُمۡ
came to them
رَسُولٌ
a Messenger
from among them
فَكَذَّبُوهُ
but they denied him
فَأَخَذَهُمُ
so seized them
the punishment
وَهُمۡ
while they
ظَـٰ لِمُو نَ
١١٣(were) wrongdoers
And there had certainly come to them a Messenger from among themselves, but they denied him; so punishment overtook them while they were wrongdoers.
16:114
فَكُلُواۡ
So eat
مِمّ َا
of what
رَزَقَكُمُ
Allah has provided you
Allah has provided you
حَلَـٰ لاً
lawful
and good
And be grateful
نِعۡمَتَ
(for the) Favor
(of) Allah
إِن
if
[you]
إِيَّاهُ
Him Alone
تَعۡبُدُو نَ
١١٤you worship
Then eat of what Allāh has provided for you [which is] lawful and good. And be grateful for the favor of Allāh, if it is [indeed] Him that you worship.
16:115
إِنّ َمَا
Only
حَرَّمَ
He has forbidden
عَلَيۡكُمُ
to you
the dead animal
وَٱ ل دَّمَ
and the blood
وَلَحۡمَ
and the flesh
(of) the swine
وَمَآ
and what
أُهِلَّ
has been dedicated
لِغَيۡرِ
to other (than)
Allah
بِهِۦ ۖ
[with it]
فَمَنِ
But (if) one
(is) forced
غَيۡرَ
without (being)
بَاغٍ
disobedient
and not
عَادٍ
a transgressor
then indeed
Allah
غَفُورٌ
(is) Oft-Forgiving
Most Merciful
He has only forbidden to you dead animals,1 blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allāh. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit] - then indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.
16:116
وَلَا
And (do) not
تَقُولُواۡ
say
لِمَا
for that which
تَصِفُ
assert
أَلۡسِنَتُكُمُ
your tongues
the lie
هَـٰ ذَا
This
حَلَـٰ لٌ
(is) lawful
and this
حَرَامٌ
(is) forbidden
so that you invent
عَلَى
about
Allah
the lie
إِنّ َ
Indeed
those who
يَفۡتَرُونَ
invent
عَلَى
about
Allah
the lie
لَا
they will not succeed
يُفۡلِحُو نَ
١١٦they will not succeed
And do not say about what your tongues assert of untruth, "This is lawful and this is unlawful," to invent falsehood about Allāh. Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allāh will not succeed.
16:117
مَتَـٰ عٌ
An enjoyment
little
and for them
عَذَابٌ
(is) a punishment
أَلِي مٌ
١١٧painful
[It is but] a brief enjoyment, and they will have a painful punishment.
16:118
وَعَلَى
And to
those who
هَادُواۡ
are Jews
حَرَّمۡنَا
We have forbidden
مَا
what
قَصَصۡنَا
We related
عَلَيۡكَ
to you
مِن
before
before
وَمَا
And not
ظَلَمۡنَـٰ هُمۡ
We wronged them
وَلَـٰ كِن
but
they used (to)
أَنف ُسَهُمۡ
themselves
يَظۡلِمُو نَ
١١٨wrong
And to those who are Jews We have prohibited that which We related to you before.1 And We did not wrong them [thereby], but they were wronging themselves.
16:119
ثُمّ َ
Then
إِنّ َ
indeed
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
لِلَّذِينَ
to those who
عَمِلُواۡ
did
evil
بِجَهَـٰ لَةٍ
in ignorance
then
تَابُواۡ
repented
مِنۢ
after
after
ذٰ لِكَ
that
وَأَصۡلَحُوٓ اۡ
and corrected themselves
إِنّ َ
indeed
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
مِنۢ
after that
after that
لَغَفُورٌ
(is) surely Oft-Forgiving
Most Merciful
Then, indeed your Lord, to those who have done wrong out of ignorance and then repent after that and correct themselves - indeed, your Lord, thereafter, is Forgiving and Merciful.
