1 Surahs10 Versesركوع 230
16:51
۞وَقَالَ
And Allah has said
And Allah has said
لَا
(Do) not
تَتَّخِذُوٓ اۡ
take
إِلَـٰ هَيۡنِ
[two] gods
two
إِنّ َمَا
only
هُوَ
He
إِلَـٰ هٌ
(is) God
One
so Me Alone
فَٱ رۡهَبُو نِ
٥١you fear [Me]
And Allāh has said, "Do not take for yourselves two1 deities. He [i.e., Allāh] is but one God, so fear only Me."
16:52
وَلَهُۥ
And to Him (belongs)
مَا
whatever
فِى
(is) in
the heavens
وَٱ لۡأَرۡضِ
and the earth
وَلَهُ
and to Him
(is due) the worship
وَاصِبًاۚ
constantly
أَفَغَيۡرَ
Then is it other (than)
Allah
تَتَّقُو نَ
٥٢you fear
And to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth, and to Him is [due] worship constantly. Then is it other than Allāh that you fear?
16:53
وَمَا
And whatever
بِكُم
you have
of
favor
(is) from
Allah
ثُمّ َ
Then
إِذَا
when
مَسَّكُمُ
touches you
the adversity
فَإِلَيۡهِ
then to Him
تَجۡ ــَٔرُو نَ
٥٣you cry for help
And whatever you have of favor - it is from Allāh. Then when adversity touches you, to Him you cry for help.
16:54
ثُمّ َ
Then
إِذَا
when
كَشَفَ
He removes
the adversity
عَنك ُمۡ
from you
إِذَا
behold
فَرِيقٌ
A group
of you
with their Lord
يُشۡرِكُو نَ
٥٤associate others
Then when He removes the adversity from you, at once a party of you associates others with their Lord
16:55
لِيَكۡفُرُواۡ
So as to deny
بِمَآ
that which
ءَاتَيۡنَـٰ هُمۡۚ
We have given them
فَتَمَتَّعُواۡۖ
Then enjoy yourselves
فَسَوۡفَ
soon
تَعۡلَمُو نَ
٥٥you will know
So they will deny what We have given them. Then enjoy yourselves, for you are going to know.
16:56
وَيَجۡ عَلُونَ
And they assign
لِمَا
to what
لَا
not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
they know
نَصِيبًا
a portion
of what
رَزَقۡ نَـٰ هُمۡۗ
We have provided them
تَٱ للَّهِ
By Allah
لَتُسۡــَٔلُنّ َ
surely you will be asked
عَمّ َا
about what
كُنت ُمۡ
you used (to)
تَفۡتَرُو نَ
٥٦invent
And they assign to what they do not know1 [i.e., false deities] a portion of that which We have provided them. By Allāh, you will surely be questioned about what you used to invent.
16:57
وَيَجۡ عَلُونَ
And they assign
لِلَّهِ
to Allah
daughters
سُبۡ حَـٰ نَهُۥ ۙ
Glory be to Him
وَلَهُم
And for them
(is) what
يَشۡتَهُو نَ
٥٧they desire
And they attribute to Allāh daughters1 - exalted is He - and for them is what they desire [i.e., sons].
16:58
وَإِذَا
And when
بُشِّرَ
is given good news
أَحَدُهُم
(to) one of them
of a female
ظَلَّ
turns
وَجۡ هُهُۥ
his face
مُسۡوَدًّا
dark
and he
كَظِي مٌ
٥٨suppresses grief
And when one of them is informed of [the birth of] a female, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief.
16:59
يَتَوٰ رَىٰ
He hides himself
مِنَ
from
the people
مِن
(because) of
the evil
مَا
of what
بُشِّرَ
he has been given good news
بِهِۦٓۚ
about
أَيُمۡسِكُهُۥ
Should he keep it
عَلَىٰ
in
هُونٍ
humiliation
أَمۡ
or
يَدُسُّهُۥ
bury it
فِى
in
the dust
أَلَا
Unquestionably
سَا ٓءَ
evil
مَا
(is) what
يَحۡكُمُو نَ
٥٩they decide
He hides himself from the people because of the ill of which he has been informed. Should he keep it in humiliation or bury it in the ground? Unquestionably, evil is what they decide.
16:60
لِلَّذِينَ
For those who
لَا
(do) not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
believe
بِٱ لۡأَخِرَةِ
in the Hereafter
مَثَلُ
(is) a similitude
(of) the evil
وَلِلَّهِ
and for Allah
(is) the similitude
the Highest
وَهُوَ
And He
(is) the All-Mighty
All-Wise
For those who do not believe in the Hereafter is the description [i.e., an attribute] of evil;1 and for Allāh is the highest attribute. And He is Exalted in Might, the Wise.
