بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

97:1
إِنَّآ
Indeed, We
أَنزَلۡنَـٰهُ
revealed it
فِى
in
لَيۡلَةِ
(the) Night
ٱلۡقَدۡرِ
(of) Power
١
Indeed, We sent it [i.e., the Qur’ān] down during the Night of Decree.
97:2
وَمَآ
And what
أَدۡرَٮٰكَ
can make you know
مَا
what
لَيۡلَةُ
(the) Night
ٱلۡقَدۡرِ
(of) Power (is)
٢
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
97:3
لَيۡلَةُ
(The) Night
ٱلۡقَدۡرِ
(of) Power
خَيۡرٌ
(is) better
مِّنۡ
than
أَلۡفِ
a thousand
شَهۡرٍ
month(s)
٣
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
97:4
تَنَزَّلُ
Descend
ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ
the Angels
وَٱلرُّوحُ
and the Spirit
فِيهَا
therein
بِإِذۡنِ
by (the) permission
رَبِّهِم
(of) their Lord
مِّن
for
كُلِّ
every
أَمۡرٍ
affair
٤
The angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.1
97:5
سَلَـٰمٌ
Peace
هِىَ
it (is)
حَتَّىٰ
until
مَطۡلَعِ
(the) emergence
ٱلۡفَجۡرِ
(of) the dawn
٥
Peace it is1 until the emergence of dawn.
