Hizb 57
5 Surahs206 Versesالحزب 57
67:1
تَبَـٰ رَكَ
Blessed is
He
بِيَدِهِ
in Whose Hand
(is) the Dominion
وَهُوَ
and He
عَلَىٰ
(is) over
كُلِّ
every
شَىۡءٍ
thing
All-Powerful
Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent -
67:2
ٱلَّذِى
The One Who
خَلَقَ
created
death
وَٱ لۡحَيَو ٰ ةَ
and life
لِيَبۡ لُوَكُمۡ
that He may test you
أَيُّكُمۡ
which of you
أَحۡسَنُ
(is) best
عَمَلاًۚ
(in) deed
And He
(is) the All-Mighty
the Oft-Forgiving
[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving -
67:3
ٱلَّذِى
The One Who
خَلَقَ
created
سَبۡ عَ
seven
سَمَـٰ وٰ تٍ
heavens
one above another
Not
تَرَىٰ
you see
فِى
in
خَلۡقِ
(the) creation
(of) the Most Gracious
مِن
any
fault
So return
the vision
هَلۡ
can
تَرَىٰ
you see
مِن
any
flaw
[And] who created seven heavens in layers.1 You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks?
67:4
ثُمّ َ
Then
return
the vision
كَرَّتَيۡنِ
twice (again)
يَنق َلِبۡ
Will return
إِلَيۡكَ
to you
the vision
خَاسِئًا
humbled
while it
حَسِي رٌ
٤(is) fatigued
Then return [your] vision twice again.1 [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued.
67:5
وَلَقَدۡ
And certainly
زَيَّنّ َا
We have beautified
the heaven
nearest
بِمَصَـٰ بِيحَ
with lamps
وَجَعَلۡنَـٰ هَا
and We have made them
رُجُومًا
(as) missiles
for the devils
وَأَعۡتَدۡ نَا
and We have prepared
لَهُمۡ
for them
عَذَابَ
punishment
(of) the Blaze
And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with lamps [i.e., stars] and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils1 and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze.
67:6
وَلِلَّذِينَ
And for those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieved
بِرَبِّهِمۡ
in their Lord
عَذَابُ
(is the) punishment
جَهَنّ َمَۖ
(of) Hell
وَبِئۡسَ
and wretched is
the destination
And for those who disbelieved in their Lord is the punishment of Hell, and wretched is the destination.
67:7
إِذَآ
When
أُلۡقُواۡ
they are thrown
فِيهَا
therein
سَمِعُواۡ
they will hear
لَهَا
from it
شَهِيقًا
an inhaling
while it
تَفُو رُ
٧boils up
When they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up.
67:8
تَكَادُ
It almost
تَمَيَّزُ
bursts
مِنَ
from
rage
كُلَّمَآ
Every time
أُلۡقِىَ
is thrown
فِيهَا
therein
فَوۡجٌ
a group
(will) ask them
خَزَنَتُهَآ
its keepers
أَلَمۡ
Did not
يَأۡتِكُمۡ
come to you
نَذِي رٌ
٨a warner
It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did there not come to you a warner?"
67:9
قَالُواۡ
They will say
بَلَىٰ
Yes
قَدۡ
indeed
جَا ٓءَنَا
came to us
نَذِيرٌ
a warner
but we denied
وَقُلۡنَا
and we said
مَا
Not
نَزَّلَ
has sent down
Allah
مِن
any
thing
إِنۡ
Not
أَنت ُمۡ
you (are)
إِلَّا
but
فِى
in
ضَلَـٰ لٍ
error
great
They will say, "Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, 'Allāh has not sent down anything. You are not but in great error.'"
67:10
وَقَالُواۡ
And they will say
لَوۡ
If
كُنّ َا
we had
نَسۡمَعُ
listened
أَوۡ
or
نَعۡقِلُ
reasoned
مَا
not
كُنّ َا
we (would) have been
فِىٓ
among
أَصۡحَـٰ بِ
(the) companions
(of) the Blaze
And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze."
67:11
فَٱ عۡتَرَفُواۡ
Then they (will) confess
بِذَنۢب ِهِمۡ
their sins
فَسُحۡقًا
so away with
(the) companions
(of) the Blaze
And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation1 for the companions of the Blaze.
67:12
إِنّ َ
Indeed
those who
يَخۡشَوۡنَ
fear
رَبَّهُم
their Lord
unseen
لَهُم
for them
(is) forgiveness
and a reward
great
Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward.
67:13
وَأَسِرُّواۡ
And conceal
قَوۡلَكُمۡ
your speech
أَوِ
or
proclaim
بِهِۦٓۖ
it
إِنّ َهُۥ
Indeed, He
عَلِيمُۢ
(is the) All-Knower
of what (is in)
the breasts
And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.
67:14
أَلَا
Does not
يَعۡلَمُ
know
مَنۡ
(the One) Who
خَلَقَ
created
وَهُوَ
And He
(is) the Subtle
the All-Aware
Does He who created not know,1 while He is the Subtle, the Aware?
67:15
هُوَ
He
(is) the One Who
جَعَلَ
made
لَكُمُ
for you
the earth
ذَلُولاً
subservient
so walk
فِى
in
مَنَاكِبِهَا
(the) paths thereof
وَكُلُواۡ
and eat
مِن
of
His provision
وَإِلَيۡهِ
and to Him
(is) the Resurrection
It is He who made the earth tame1 for you - so walk among its slopes and eat of His provision - and to Him is the resurrection.
67:16
ءَأَمِنت ُم
Do you feel secure
(from Him) Who
(is) in
the heaven
أَن
not
He will cause to swallow
بِكُمُ
you
the earth
فَإِذَا
when
هِىَ
it
تَمُو رُ
١٦sways
Do you feel secure that He who is above1 would not cause the earth to swallow you and suddenly it would sway?2
67:17
أَمۡ
Or
أَمِنت ُم
do you feel secure
(from Him) Who
(is) in
the heaven
أَن
that
He will send
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
against you
حَاصِبًاۖ
a storm of stones
Then you would know
كَيۡفَ
how
نَذِي رِ
١٧(was) My warning
Or do you feel secure that He who is above would not send against you a storm of stones? Then you would know how [severe] was My warning.
67:18
وَلَقَدۡ
And indeed
كَذَّبَ
denied
those
مِن
from
before them
فَكَيۡفَ
and how
كَانَ
was
نَكِي رِ
١٨My rejection
And already had those before them denied, and how [terrible] was My reproach.
67:19
أَوَلَمۡ
Do not
يَرَوۡاۡ
they see
إِلَى
[to]
the birds
فَوۡقَهُمۡ
above them
صَـٰٓ فَّـٰ تٍ
spreading (their wings)
and folding
مَا
Not
يُمۡسِكُهُنّ َ
holds them
إِلَّا
except
the Most Gracious
إِنّ َهُۥ
Indeed, He
بِكُلِّ
(is) of every
شَىۡءِۭ
thing
All-Seer
Do they not see the birds above them with wings outspread and [sometimes] folded in? None holds them [aloft] except the Most Merciful. Indeed He is, of all things, Seeing.
67:20
أَمّ َنۡ
Who is
هَـٰ ذَا
this
the one
هُوَ
he
جُندٌ
(is) an army
for you
يَنص ُرُكُم
to help you
from
besides
the Most Gracious
إِنِ
Not
(are) the disbelievers
إِلَّا
but
فِى
in
غُرُو رٍ
٢٠delusion
Or who is it that could be an army for you to aid you other than the Most Merciful? The disbelievers are not but in delusion.
67:21
أَمّ َنۡ
Who is
هَـٰ ذَا
this
the one
يَرۡزُقُكُمۡ
to provide you
إِنۡ
if
أَمۡسَكَ
He withheld
رِزۡقَهُۥ ۚ
His provision
بَل
Nay
لَّجُّواۡ
they persist
فِى
in
عُتُوٍّ
pride
and aversion
Or who is it that could provide for you if He withheld His provision? But they have persisted in insolence and aversion.
67:22
أَفَمَن
Then is he who
walks
مُكِبًّا
fallen
عَلَىٰ
on
وَجۡ هِهِۦٓ
his face
أَهۡدَىٰٓ
better guided
أَمّ َن
or (he) who
walks
سَوِيًّا
upright
عَلَىٰ
on
صِرٰ طٍ
(the) Path
Straight
Then is one who walks fallen on his face better guided or one who walks erect on a straight path?
67:23
قُلۡ
Say
هُوَ

and the vision
وَٱ لۡأَفۡــِٔدَةَۖ
and the feelings
قَلِيلاً
Little

تَشۡكُرُو نَ
٢٣you give thanks
Say, "It is He who has produced you and made for you hearing and vision and hearts [i.e., intellect]; little are you grateful."
67:24
قُلۡ
Say
هُوَ
He
(is) the One Who
ذَرَأَكُمۡ
multiplied you
فِى
in
the earth
وَإِلَيۡهِ
and to Him
تُحۡشَرُو نَ
٢٤you will be gathered
Say, "It is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered."
67:25
وَيَقُولُونَ
And they say
مَتَىٰ
When
هَـٰ ذَا

promise
إِن
if
you are
صَـٰ دِقِي نَ
٢٥truthful
And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"
67:26
قُلۡ
Say
إِنّ َمَا
Only
the knowledge
عِند َ

Allah
وَإِنّ َمَآ
and only
أَنَاۡ
I am
نَذِيرٌ
a warner
clear
Say, "The knowledge is only with Allāh, and I am only a clear warner."
67:27
فَلَمّ َا
But when
رَأَوۡهُ
they (will) see it
زُلۡفَةً
approaching
(will be) distressed
وُجُوهُ
(the) faces
(of) those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieved
وَقِيلَ
and it will be said
هَـٰ ذَا
This

you used to

تَدَّعُو نَ
٢٧call
But when they see it1 approaching, the faces of those who disbelieve will be distressed, and it will be said, "This is that for which you used to call."2
67:28
قُلۡ
Say
أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ
Have you seen

Allah

فَمَن
then who
(can) protect
the disbelievers
مِنۡ
from
عَذَابٍ
a punishment
أَلِي مٍ
٢٨painful
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Have you considered:1 whether Allāh should cause my death and those with me or have mercy upon us, who can protect the disbelievers from a painful punishment?"
67:29
قُلۡ
Say
هُوَ

we believe
بِهِۦ
in Him
وَعَلَيۡهِ
and upon Him

So you will know
مَنۡ
who
هُوَ

ضَلَـٰ لٍ
error
clear
Say, "He is the Most Merciful; we have believed in Him, and upon Him we have relied. And you will [come to] know who it is that is in clear error."
67:30
قُلۡ
Say
أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ
Have you seen
إِنۡ
if

Say, "Have you considered: if your water was to become sunken [into the earth], then who could bring you flowing water?"

You are not, [O Muḥammad], by the favor of your Lord, a madman.

And indeed, you are of a great moral character.
68:5

So you will see and they will see.
68:6

Which of you is the afflicted [by a devil].
68:7

Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has gone astray from His way, and He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided.

Then do not obey the deniers.

[Saying], "There will surely not enter it today upon you [any] poor person."
68:25
وَغَدَوۡاۡ
And they went early

able
And they went early in determination, [assuming themselves] able.1
68:26
فَلَمّ َا
But when
رَأَوۡهَا
they saw it
قَالُوٓ اۡ
they said
إِنّ َا
Indeed, we

But when they saw it, they said, "Indeed, we are lost;

We

Rather, we have been deprived."
68:28

أَلَمۡ
Did not
أَقُل
I tell
لَّكُمۡ
you

'Why not

The most moderate of them said, "Did I not say to you, 'Why do you not exalt [Allāh]?'"1
68:29
قَالُواۡ
They said
سُبۡ حَـٰ نَ
Glory be
رَبِّنَآ
(to) our Lord
إِنّ َا
Indeed, we
كُنّ َا
[we] were
ظَـٰ لِمِي نَ
٢٩wrongdoers
They said, "Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, we were wrongdoers."
68:30
فَأَقۡ بَلَ
Then approached
بَعۡضُهُمۡ
some of them
عَلَىٰ
to
بَعۡضٍ
others
blaming each other
Then they approached one another, blaming each other.
68:31
قَالُواۡ
They said
يَـٰ وَيۡلَنَآ
O woe to us
إِنّ َا
Indeed, we
كُنّ َا
[we] were
طَـٰ غِي نَ
٣١transgressors
They said, "O woe to us; indeed we were transgressors.
68:32
عَسَىٰ
Perhaps
رَبُّنَآ
our Lord

إِنّ َآ
Indeed, we

رَبِّنَا
our Lord
رٰ غِبُو نَ
٣٢turn devoutly
Perhaps our Lord will substitute for us [one] better than it. Indeed, we are toward our Lord desirous."1
68:33
كَذٰ لِكَ
Such
(is) the punishment
وَلَعَذَابُ
And surely the punishment
(of) the Hereafter
أَكۡبَرُۚ
(is) greater
لَوۡ
if
كَانُواۡ
they
يَعۡلَمُو نَ
٣٣know
Such is the punishment [of this world]. And the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if they only knew.
68:34
إِنّ َ
Indeed
لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ
for the righteous
عِند َ
with
رَبِّهِمۡ
their Lord
جَنّ َـٰ تِ

Indeed, for the righteous with their Lord are the Gardens of Pleasure.
68:35
أَفَنَجۡ عَلُ
Then will We treat
the Muslims
كَٱ لۡمُجۡ رِمِي نَ
٣٥like the criminals
Then will We treat the Muslims like the criminals?
68:36

What is [the matter] with you? How do you judge?
68:37
أَمۡ
Or
لَكُمۡ
(is) for you
كِتَـٰ بٌ
a book
wherein
تَدۡ رُسُو نَ
٣٧you learn
Or do you have a scripture in which you learn
68:38
إِنّ َ
Indeed
لَكُمۡ
for you

in it
لَمَا
what
تَخَيَّرُو نَ
٣٨you choose
That indeed for you is whatever you choose?
68:39
أَمۡ
Or

يَوۡمِ
(the) Day
(of) the Resurrection
إِنّ َ
indeed
لَكُمۡ
for you
لَمَا
(is) what
تَحۡكُمُو نَ
٣٩you judge
Or do you have oaths [binding] upon Us, extending until the Day of Resurrection, that indeed for you is whatever you judge?
68:40
سَلۡهُمۡ
Ask them
أَيُّهُم
which of them
for that
زَعِي مٌ
٤٠(is) responsible
Ask them which of them, for that [claim], is responsible.
68:41
أَمۡ
Or
لَهُمۡ
(are) for them
شُرَكَا ٓءُ
partners
فَلۡيَأۡتُواۡ
Then let them bring
بِشُرَكَا ٓئِهِمۡ
their partners
إِن
if
they are
صَـٰ دِقِي نَ
٤١truthful
Or do they have partners?1 Then let them bring their partners, if they should be truthful.
68:42
يَوۡمَ
(The) Day

from
the shin
and they will be called
إِلَى
to

فَلَا
but not
يَسۡتَطِيعُو نَ
٤٢they will be able
The Day the shin will be uncovered1 and they are invited to prostration but they [i.e., the disbelievers] will not be able,
68:43
خَـٰ شِعَةً
Humbled
أَبۡ صَـٰ رُهُمۡ
their eyes
تَرۡهَقُهُمۡ
will cover them
ذِلَّةٌۖ
humiliation
And indeed
كَانُواۡ
they were
يُدۡ عَوۡنَ
called
إِلَى
to
prostrate
وَهُمۡ
while they
سَـٰ لِمُو نَ
٤٣(were) sound
Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. And they used to be invited to prostration while they were sound.1
68:44
فَذَرۡنِى
So leave Me
وَمَن
and whoever
denies
بِهَـٰ ذَا
this
Statement
سَنَسۡتَدۡ رِجُهُم
We will progressively lead them
from
حَيۡثُ
where
لَا
not
يَعۡلَمُو نَ
٤٤they know
So leave Me, [O Muḥammad], with [the matter of] whoever denies this statement [i.e., the Qur’ān]. We will progressively lead them [to punishment] from where they do not know.1
68:45
وَأُمۡلِى
And I will give respite
لَهُمۡۚ
to them
إِنّ َ
Indeed
كَيۡدِى
My plan
مَتِي نٌ
٤٥(is) firm
And I will give them time. Indeed, My plan is firm.
68:46
أَمۡ
Or
تَسۡــَٔلُهُمۡ
you ask them
أَجۡ رًا
a payment
so they
from
(the) debt
(are) burdened
Or do you ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down?
68:47
أَمۡ
Or
عِند َهُمُ
(is) with them
the unseen
فَهُمۡ
so they
يَكۡتُبُو نَ
٤٧write it
Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?
68:48
فَٱ صۡبِرۡ
So be patient
لِحُكۡمِ
for (the) decision
رَبِّكَ
(of) your Lord

be
like (the) companion
(of) the fish
إِذۡ
when
نَادَىٰ
he called out
وَهُوَ
while he
مَكۡظُو مٌ
٤٨(was) distressed
Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, [O Muḥammad], and be not like the companion of the fish [i.e., Jonah] when he called out while he was distressed.
68:49
لَّوۡلَآ
If not
أَن
that
overtook him
نِعۡمَةٌ

surely he would have been thrown
بِٱ لۡعَرَا ٓءِ
onto (the) naked shore
وَهُوَ
while he
مَذۡمُو مٌ
٤٩(was) blamed
If not that a favor [i.e., mercy] from his Lord overtook him, he would have been thrown onto the naked shore while he was censured.1
68:50
فَٱ جۡ تَبَـٰ هُ
But chose him
رَبُّهُۥ
his Lord
فَجَعَلَهُۥ
and made him
مِنَ
of
the righteous
And his Lord chose him and made him of the righteous.
68:51
وَإِن
And indeed
would almost
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve
لَيُزۡلِقُونَكَ
surely make you slip
بِأَبۡ صَـٰ رِهِمۡ
with their look
لَمّ َا
when

they hear
the Message
وَيَقُولُونَ
and they say
إِنّ َهُۥ
Indeed, he
لَمَجۡ نُو نٌ
٥١(is) surely mad
And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes [i.e., looks] when they hear the message, and they say, "Indeed, he is mad."
68:52
وَمَا
And not

ثَمُودُ
Thamud
وَعَادُۢ
and Aad
the Striking Calamity
Thamūd and ʿAad denied the Striking Calamity [i.e., the Resurrection].
69:5
فَأَمّ َا
So as for
ثَمُودُ
Thamud
فَأُهۡلِكُواۡ
they were destroyed
بِٱ ل طَّاغِيَةِ
٥by the overpowering (blast)
So as for Thamūd, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast].
69:6
وَأَمّ َا
And as for
عَادٌ
Aad
they were destroyed
بِرِيحٍ
by a wind
screaming
عَاتِيَةٍ
٦violent
And as for ʿAad, they were destroyed by a screaming,1 violent wind
69:7
سَخَّرَهَا
Which He imposed

fallen
كَأَنّ َهُمۡ
as if they were

trunks
نَخۡلٍ
(of) date-palms
خَاوِيَةٍ
٧hollow
Which He [i.e., Allāh] imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees.
69:8
فَهَلۡ
Then do
تَرَىٰ
you see
لَهُم
of them
any

Then do you see of them any remains?
69:9
وَجَا ٓءَ

وَمَن
and (those)

وَٱ لۡمُؤۡتَفِكَـٰ تُ
and the overturned cities
بِٱ لۡخَاطِئَةِ
٩with sin
And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities1 with sin.
69:10
فَعَصَوۡاۡ
And they disobeyed
رَسُولَ
(the) Messenger
رَبِّهِمۡ
(of) their Lord
فَأَخَذَهُمۡ
so He seized them
أَخۡذَةً
(with) a seizure
exceeding
And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity].
69:11
إِنّ َا
Indeed, We
لَمّ َا
when
طَغَا

the water
حَمَلۡنَـٰ كُمۡ
We carried you
فِى

the sailing (ship)
Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried you [i.e., your ancestors] in the sailing ship1
69:12
لِنَجۡ عَلَهَا
That We might make it
لَكُمۡ
for you
تَذۡكِرَةً
a reminder

conscious
That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it.
69:13
فَإِذَا
Then when

Then when the Horn is blown with one blast

وَٱ لۡجِبَالُ
and the mountains
فَدُكَّتَا
and crushed
دَكَّةً
(with) a crushing
single
And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow [i.e., stroke] -
69:15
فَيَوۡمَئِذٍ
Then (on) that Day
will occur
the Occurrence
Then on that Day, the Occurrence [i.e., Resurrection] will occur,
69:16
وَٱ نش َقَّتِ
And will split
the heaven
فَهِىَ
so it
يَوۡمَئِذٍ

And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm.1
69:17
وَٱ لۡمَلَكُ

يَوۡمَئِذٍ
that Day
eight
And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them].
69:18
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
That Day
you will be exhibited

That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed.1
69:19
فَأَمّ َا
