Hizb 3

1 Surahs61 Versesالحزب 3
2:142
۞سَيَقُولُ
Will say
ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ
the foolish ones
مِنَ
from
ٱلنَّاسِ
the people
مَا
What
وَلَّـٰهُمۡ
(has) turned them
عَن
from
قِبۡلَتِهِمُ
their direction of prayer
ٱلَّتِى
which
كَانُواۡ
they were used to
عَلَيۡهَا‌ۚ
[on it]
قُل
Say
لِّلَّهِ
For Allah
ٱلۡمَشۡرِقُ
(is) the east
وَٱلۡمَغۡرِبُ‌ۚ
and the west
يَهۡدِى
He guides
مَن
whom
يَشَآءُ
He wills
إِلَىٰ
to
صِرٰطٍ
a path
مُّسۡتَقِيمٍ
straight
١٤٢
The foolish among the people will say, "What has turned them away from their qiblah,1 which they used to face?"2 Say, "To Allāh belongs the east and the west. He guides whom He wills to a straight path."
2:143
وَكَذٰلِكَ
And thus
جَعَلۡنَـٰكُمۡ
We made you
أُمَّةً
a community
وَسَطًا
(of the) middle way
لِّتَكُونُواۡ
so that you will be
شُهَدَآءَ
witnesses
عَلَى
over
ٱلنَّاسِ
the mankind
وَيَكُونَ
and will be
ٱلرَّسُولُ
the Messenger
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
on you
شَهِيدًا‌ۗ
a witness
وَمَا
And not
جَعَلۡنَا
We made
ٱلۡقِبۡلَةَ
the direction of prayer
ٱلَّتِى
which
كُنتَ
you were used to
عَلَيۡهَآ
[on it]
إِلَّا
except
لِنَعۡلَمَ
that We make evident
مَن
(he) who
يَتَّبِعُ
follows
ٱلرَّسُولَ
the Messenger
مِمَّن
from (he) who
يَنقَلِبُ
turns back
عَلَىٰ
on
عَقِبَيۡهِ‌ۚ
his heels
وَإِن
And indeed
كَانَتۡ
it was
لَكَبِيرَةً
certainly a great (test)
إِلَّا
except
عَلَى
for
ٱلَّذِينَ
those whom
هَدَى
guided
ٱللَّهُ‌ۗ
(by) Allah
وَمَا
And not
كَانَ
will
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
لِيُضِيعَ
let go waste
إِيمَـٰنَكُمۡ‌ۚ
your faith
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
بِٱلنَّاسِ
(is) to [the] mankind
لَرَءُوفٌ
Full of Kindness
رَّحِيمٌ
Most Merciful
١٤٣
And thus We have made you a median [i.e., just] community that you will be witnesses over the people and the Messenger will be a witness over you. And We did not make the qiblah which you used to face except that We might make evident who would follow the Messenger from who would turn back on his heels.1 And indeed, it is difficult except for those whom Allāh has guided. And never would Allāh have caused you to lose your faith [i.e., your previous prayers]. Indeed Allāh is, to the people, Kind and Merciful.
2:144
قَدۡ
Indeed
نَرَىٰ
We see
تَقَلُّبَ
(the) turning
وَجۡهِكَ
(of) your face
فِى
towards
ٱلسَّمَآءِ‌ۖ
the heaven
فَلَنُوَلِّيَنَّكَ
So We will surely turn you
قِبۡلَةً
(to the) direction of prayer
تَرۡضَـٰهَا‌ۚ
you will be pleased with
فَوَلِّ
So turn
وَجۡهَكَ
your face
شَطۡرَ
towards the direction
ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ
(of) Al-Masjid
ٱلۡحَرَامِ‌ۚ
Al-Haraam
وَحَيۡثُ
and wherever
مَا
that
كُنتُمۡ
you are
فَوَلُّواۡ
[so] turn
وُجُوهَكُمۡ
your faces
شَطۡرَهُۥ‌ۗ
(in) its direction
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
أُوتُواۡ
were given
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ
the Book
لَيَعۡلَمُونَ
surely know
أَنَّهُ
that it
ٱلۡحَقُّ
(is) the truth
مِن
from
رَّبِّهِمۡ‌ۗ
their Lord
وَمَا
And not
ٱللَّهُ
(is) Allah
بِغَـٰفِلٍ
unaware
عَمَّا
of what
يَعۡمَلُونَ
they do
١٤٤
We have certainly seen the turning of your face, [O Muḥammad], toward the heaven, and We will surely turn you to a qiblah with which you will be pleased. So turn your face [i.e., yourself] toward al-Masjid al-Ḥarām.1 And wherever you [believers] are, turn your faces [i.e., yourselves] toward it [in prayer]. Indeed, those who have been given the Scripture [i.e., the Jews and the Christians] well know that it is the truth from their Lord. And Allāh is not unaware of what they do.
2:145
وَلَئِنۡ
And even if
أَتَيۡتَ
you come
ٱلَّذِينَ
(to) those who
أُوتُواۡ
were given
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ
the Book
بِكُلِّ
with all
ءَايَةٍ
(the) signs
مَّا
not
تَبِعُواۡ
they would follow
قِبۡلَتَكَ‌ۚ
your direction of prayer
وَمَآ
and not
أَنتَ
(will) you (be)
بِتَابِعٍ
a follower
قِبۡلَتَهُمۡ‌ۚ
(of) their direction of prayer
وَمَا
And not
بَعۡضُهُم
some of them
بِتَابِعٍ
(are) followers
قِبۡلَةَ
(of the) direction of prayer
بَعۡضٍ‌ۚ
(of each) other
وَلَئِنِ
And if
ٱتَّبَعۡتَ
you followed
أَهۡوَآءَهُم
their desires
مِّنۢ
from
بَعۡدِ
after
مَا
[what]
جَآءَكَ
came to you
مِنَ
of
ٱلۡعِلۡمِ‌ۙ
the knowledge
إِنَّكَ
indeed, you
إِذًا
(would) then
لَّمِنَ
(be) surely among
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
the wrongdoers
١٤٥
And if you brought to those who were given the Scripture every sign, they would not follow your qiblah. Nor will you be a follower of their qiblah. Nor would they be followers of one another's qiblah. So if you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, indeed, you would then be among the wrongdoers.
2:146
ٱلَّذِينَ
(To) those whom
ءَاتَيۡنَـٰهُمُ
We gave [them]
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ
the Book
يَعۡرِفُونَهُۥ
they recognize it
كَمَا
like
يَعۡرِفُونَ
they recognize
أَبۡنَآءَهُمۡ‌ۖ
their sons
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
فَرِيقًا
a group
مِّنۡهُمۡ
of them
لَيَكۡتُمُونَ
surely they conceal
ٱلۡحَقَّ
the Truth
وَهُمۡ
while they
يَعۡلَمُونَ
know
١٤٦
Those to whom We gave the Scripture know him [i.e., Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ)] as they know their own sons. But indeed, a party of them conceal the truth while they know [it].
2:147
ٱلۡحَقُّ
The Truth
مِن
(is) from
رَّبِّكَ‌ۖ
your Lord
فَلَا
so (do) not
تَكُونَنَّ
be
مِنَ
among
ٱلۡمُمۡتَرِينَ
the doubters
١٤٧
The truth is from your Lord, so never be among the doubters.
2:148
وَلِكُلٍّ
And for everyone
وِجۡهَةٌ
(is) a direction
هُوَ
he
مُوَلِّيهَا‌ۖ
turns towards it
فَٱسۡتَبِقُواۡ
so race
ٱلۡخَيۡرٰتِ‌ۚ
(to) the good
أَيۡنَ
Wherever
مَا
that
تَكُونُواۡ
you will be
يَأۡتِ
will bring
بِكُمُ
you
ٱللَّهُ
(by) Allah
جَمِيعًا‌ۚ
together
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
عَلَىٰ
(is) on
كُلِّ
every
شَىۡءٍ
thing
قَدِيرٌ
All-Powerful
١٤٨
For each [religious following] is a [prayer] direction toward which it faces. So race to [all that is] good. Wherever you may be, Allāh will bring you forth [for judgement] all together. Indeed, Allāh is over all things competent.
2:149
وَمِنۡ
And from
حَيۡثُ
wherever
خَرَجۡتَ
you start forth
فَوَلِّ
[so] turn
وَجۡهَكَ
your face
شَطۡرَ
(in the) direction
ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ
(of) Al-Masjid
ٱلۡحَرَامِ‌ۖ
Al-Haraam
وَإِنَّهُۥ
And indeed, it
لَلۡحَقُّ
(is) surely the truth
مِن
from
رَّبِّكَ‌ۗ
your Lord
وَمَا
And not
ٱللَّهُ
(is) Allah
بِغَـٰفِلٍ
unaware
عَمَّا
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
you do
١٤٩
So from wherever you go out [for prayer, O Muḥammad], turn your face toward al-Masjid al-Ḥarām, and indeed, it is the truth from your Lord. And Allāh is not unaware of what you do.
2:150
وَمِنۡ
And from
حَيۡثُ
wherever
خَرَجۡتَ
you start forth
فَوَلِّ
[so] turn
وَجۡهَكَ
your face
شَطۡرَ
(in the) direction
ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ
(of) Al-Masjid
ٱلۡحَرَامِ‌ۚ
Al-Haraam
وَحَيۡثُ
And wherever
مَا
that
كُنتُمۡ
you (all) are
فَوَلُّواۡ
[so] turn
وُجُوهَكُمۡ
your faces
شَطۡرَهُۥ
(in) its direction
لِئَلَّا
so that not
يَكُونَ
will be
لِلنَّاسِ
for the people
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
against you
حُجَّةٌ
any argument
إِلَّا
except
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ظَلَمُواۡ
wronged
مِنۡهُمۡ
among them
فَلَا
so (do) not
تَخۡشَوۡهُمۡ
fear them
وَٱخۡشَوۡنِى
but fear Me
وَلِأُتِمَّ
And that I complete
نِعۡمَتِى
My favor
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
upon you
وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ
[and] so that you may
تَهۡتَدُونَ
(be) guided
١٥٠
And from wherever you go out [for prayer], turn your face toward al-Masjid al-Ḥarām. And wherever you [believers] may be, turn your faces toward it in order that the people will not have any argument against you, except for those of them who commit wrong; so fear them not but fear Me. And [it is] so I may complete My favor upon you and that you may be guided,
2:151
كَمَآ
As
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
We sent
فِيكُمۡ
among you
رَسُولاً
a Messenger
مِّنكُمۡ
from you
يَتۡلُواۡ
(who) recites
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
to you
ءَايَـٰتِنَا
Our verses
وَيُزَكِّيكُمۡ
and purifies you
وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ
and teaches you
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ
the Book
وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ
and the wisdom
وَيُعَلِّمُكُم
and teaches you
مَّا
what
لَمۡ
not
تَكُونُواۡ
you were
تَعۡلَمُونَ
knowing
١٥١
Just as We have sent among you a messenger from yourselves reciting to you Our verses and purifying you and teaching you the Book and wisdom1 and teaching you that which you did not know.
2:152
فَٱذۡكُرُونِىٓ
So remember Me
أَذۡكُرۡكُمۡ
I will remember you
وَٱشۡكُرُواۡ
and be grateful
لِى
to Me
وَلَا
and (do) not
تَكۡفُرُونِ
(be) ungrateful to Me
١٥٢
So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me.
2:153
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
who
ءَامَنُواۡ
believe[d]
ٱسۡتَعِينُواۡ
Seek help
بِٱلصَّبۡرِ
through patience
وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ‌ۚ
and the prayer
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
مَعَ
(is) with
ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
the patient ones
١٥٣
O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allāh is with the patient.
2:154
وَلَا
And (do) not
تَقُولُواۡ
say
لِمَن
for (the ones) who
يُقۡتَلُ
are slain
فِى
in
سَبِيلِ
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
أَمۡوٰتُۢ‌ۚ
(They are) dead
بَلۡ
Nay
أَحۡيَآءٌ
(they are) alive
وَلَـٰكِن
[and] but
لَّا
you (do) not
تَشۡعُرُونَ
perceive
١٥٤
And do not say about those who are killed in the way of Allāh, "They are dead." Rather, they are alive, but you perceive [it] not.
2:155
وَلَنَبۡلُوَنَّكُم
And surely We will test you
بِشَىۡءٍ
with something
مِّنَ
of
ٱلۡخَوۡفِ
[the] fear
وَٱلۡجُوعِ
and [the] hunger
وَنَقۡصٍ
and loss
مِّنَ
of
ٱلۡأَمۡوٰلِ
[the] wealth
وَٱلۡأَنفُسِ
and [the] lives
وَٱلثَّمَرٰتِ‌ۗ
and [the] fruits
وَبَشِّرِ
but give good news
ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
(to) the patient ones
١٥٥
And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient,
2:156
ٱلَّذِينَ
Those who
إِذَآ
when
أَصَـٰبَتۡهُم
strikes them
مُّصِيبَةٌ
a misfortune
قَالُوٓاۡ
they say
إِنَّا
Indeed, we
لِلَّهِ
belong to Allah
وَإِنَّآ
and indeed we
إِلَيۡهِ
towards Him
رٰجِعُونَ
will return
١٥٦
Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allāh, and indeed to Him we will return."
2:157
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
Those
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
on them
صَلَوٰتٌ
(are) blessings
مِّن
from
رَّبِّهِمۡ
their Lord
وَرَحۡمَةٌ‌ۖ
and Mercy
وَأُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
And those
هُمُ
[they]
ٱلۡمُهۡتَدُونَ
(are) the guided ones
١٥٧
Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided.
2:158
۞إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلصَّفَا
the Safa
وَٱلۡمَرۡوَةَ
and the Marwah
مِن
(are) from
شَعَآئِرِ
(the) symbols
ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ
(of) Allah
فَمَنۡ
So whoever
حَجَّ
performs Hajj
ٱلۡبَيۡتَ
(of) the House
أَوِ
or
ٱعۡتَمَرَ
performs Umrah
فَلَا
so no
جُنَاحَ
blame
عَلَيۡهِ
on him
أَن
that
يَطَّوَّفَ
he walks
بِهِمَا‌ۚ
between [both of] them
وَمَن
And whoever
تَطَوَّعَ
voluntarily does
خَيۡرًا
good
فَإِنَّ
then indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
شَاكِرٌ
(is) All-Appreciative
عَلِيمٌ
All-Knowing
١٥٨
Indeed, aṣ-Ṣafā and al-Marwah are among the symbols1 of Allāh. So whoever makes ḥajj [pilgrimage] to the House or performs ʿumrah - there is no blame upon him for walking between them.2 And whoever volunteers good - then indeed, Allāh is Appreciative3 and Knowing.
2:159
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
يَكۡتُمُونَ
conceal
مَآ
what
أَنزَلۡنَا
We revealed
مِنَ
of
ٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتِ
the clear proofs
وَٱلۡهُدَىٰ
and the Guidance
مِنۢ
from
بَعۡدِ
after
مَا
[what]
بَيَّنَّـٰهُ
We made clear
لِلنَّاسِ
to the people
فِى
in
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ‌ۙ
the Book
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
those
يَلۡعَنُهُمُ
curses them
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
وَيَلۡعَنُهُمُ
and curse them
ٱللَّـٰعِنُونَ
the ones who curse
١٥٩
Indeed, those who conceal what We sent down of clear proofs and guidance after We made it clear for the people in the Scripture - those are cursed by Allāh and cursed by those who curse,1
2:160
إِلَّا
Except
ٱلَّذِينَ
those
تَابُواۡ
who repent[ed]
وَأَصۡلَحُواۡ
and reform[ed]
وَبَيَّنُواۡ
and openly declar[ed]
فَأُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
Then those
أَتُوبُ
I will accept repentance
عَلَيۡهِمۡ‌ۚ
from them
وَأَنَا
and I (am)
ٱلتَّوَّابُ
the Acceptor of Repentance
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
the Most Merciful
١٦٠
Except for those who repent and correct themselves and make evident [what they concealed]. Those - I will accept their repentance, and I am the Accepting of Repentance,1 the Merciful.
2:161
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُواۡ
disbelieve[d]
وَمَاتُواۡ
and die[d]
وَهُمۡ
while they
كُفَّارٌ
(were) disbelievers
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ
those
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
on them
لَعۡنَةُ
(is the) curse
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ
and the Angels
وَٱلنَّاسِ
and the mankind
أَجۡمَعِينَ
all together
١٦١
Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers - upon them will be the curse of Allāh and of the angels and the people, all together,
2:162
خَـٰلِدِينَ
(Will) abide forever
فِيهَا‌ۖ
in it
لَا
Not
يُخَفَّفُ
will be lightened
عَنۡهُمُ
for them
ٱلۡعَذَابُ
the punishment
وَلَا
and not
هُمۡ
they
يُنظَرُونَ
will be reprieved
١٦٢
Abiding eternally therein. The punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved.
2:163
وَإِلَـٰهُكُمۡ
And your God
إِلَـٰهٌ
(is) God
وٰحِدٌ‌ۖ
one (only)
لَّآ
(there is) no
إِلَـٰهَ
god
إِلَّا
except
هُوَ
Him
ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ
the Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
the Most Merciful
١٦٣
And your god is one God. There is no deity [worthy of worship] except Him, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
2:164
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
خَلۡقِ
(the) creation
ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
and the earth
وَٱخۡتِلَـٰفِ
and alternation
ٱلَّيۡلِ
of the night
وَٱلنَّهَارِ
and the day
وَٱلۡفُلۡكِ
and the ships
ٱلَّتِى
which
تَجۡرِى
sail
فِى
in
ٱلۡبَحۡرِ
the sea
بِمَا
with what
يَنفَعُ
benefits
ٱلنَّاسَ
[the] people
وَمَآ
and what
أَنزَلَ
(has) sent down
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
مِنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
مِن
[of]
مَّآءٍ
water
فَأَحۡيَا
giving life
بِهِ
thereby
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
(to) the earth
بَعۡدَ
after
مَوۡتِهَا
its death
وَبَثَّ
and dispersing
فِيهَا
therein
مِن
[of]
كُلِّ
every
دَآبَّةٍ
moving creature
وَتَصۡرِيفِ
and directing
ٱلرِّيَـٰحِ
(of) the winds
وَٱلسَّحَابِ
and the clouds
ٱلۡمُسَخَّرِ
[the] controlled
بَيۡنَ
between
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
and the earth
لَأَيَـٰتٍ
surely (are) Signs
لِّقَوۡمٍ
for a people
يَعۡقِلُونَ
who use their intellect
١٦٤
Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, and the [great] ships which sail through the sea with that which benefits people, and what Allāh has sent down from the heavens of rain, giving life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and dispersing therein every [kind of] moving creature, and [His] directing of the winds and the clouds controlled between the heaven and earth are signs for a people who use reason.
2:165
وَمِنَ
And among
ٱلنَّاسِ
the mankind
مَن
who
يَتَّخِذُ
takes
مِن
from
دُونِ
besides
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
أَندَادًا
equals
يُحِبُّونَهُمۡ
They love them
كَحُبِّ
as (they should) love
ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ
Allah
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
ءَامَنُوٓاۡ
believe[d]
أَشَدُّ
(are) stronger
حُبًّا
(in) love
لِّلَّهِ‌ۗ
for Allah
وَلَوۡ
And if
يَرَى
would see
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ظَلَمُوٓاۡ
wronged
إِذۡ
when
يَرَوۡنَ
they will see
ٱلۡعَذَابَ
the punishment
أَنَّ
that
ٱلۡقُوَّةَ
the power
لِلَّهِ
(belongs) to Allah
جَمِيعًا
all
وَأَنَّ
and [that]
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
شَدِيدُ
(is) severe
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
(in) [the] punishment
١٦٥
And [yet], among the people are those who take other than Allāh as equals [to Him]. They love them as they [should] love Allāh. But those who believe are stronger in love for Allāh. And if only they who have wronged would consider [that] when they see the punishment, [they will be certain] that all power belongs to Allāh and that Allāh is severe in punishment.
2:166
إِذۡ
When
تَبَرَّأَ
will disown
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ٱتُّبِعُواۡ
were followed
مِنَ
[from]
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ٱتَّبَعُواۡ
followed
وَرَأَوُاۡ
and they will see
ٱلۡعَذَابَ
the punishment
وَتَقَطَّعَتۡ
[and] will be cut off
بِهِمُ
for them
ٱلۡأَسۡبَابُ
the relations
١٦٦
[And they should consider that] when those who have been followed disassociate themselves from those who followed [them], and they [all] see the punishment, and cut off from them are the ties [of relationship],
2:167
وَقَالَ
And said
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ٱتَّبَعُواۡ

Those who followed will say, "If only we had another turn [at worldly life] so we could disassociate ourselves from them as they have disassociated themselves from us." Thus will Allāh show them their deeds as regrets upon them. And they are never to emerge from the Fire.

The example of those who disbelieve is like that of one who shouts at what hears nothing but calls and cries [i.e., cattle or sheep] - deaf, dumb and blind, so they do not understand.

Indeed, they who conceal what Allāh has sent down of the Book and exchange it for a small price - those consume not into their bellies except the Fire. And Allāh will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them. And they will have a painful punishment.

Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allāh, the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; [and who] establishes prayer and gives zakāh; [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. O you who have believed, prescribed for you is legal retribution for those murdered - the free for the free, the slave for the slave, and the female for the female.1 But whoever overlooks from his brother [i.e., the killer] anything,2 then there should be a suitable follow-up and payment to him [i.e., the deceased's heir or legal representative] with good conduct. Allāh knows that you used to deceive yourselves,2 so He accepted your repentance and forgave you. So now, have relations with them and seek that which Allāh has decreed for you [i.e., offspring]. And eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct to you from the black thread [of night]. Then complete the fast until the night [i.e., sunset]. And do not have relations with them as long as you are staying for worship in the mosques. These are the limits [set by] Allāh, so do not approach them. Thus does Allāh make clear His verses [i.e., ordinances] to the people that they may become righteous.
